Taj Mahal: The Eternal Masterpiece
The epitome of Mughal architecture, the Taj Mahal is so grand it warrants two visits – one at dawn and another at dusk, when its color looks entirely different. Opportunities to view other icons of the Mughal empire abound, as hauntingly beautiful Agra Fort and the red sandstone former capital of Fatehpur Sikri are easily within reach. An expressive kathak dance performance and a consultation with a leading astrologer shed light on the local culture, while shopping in Agra reveals the exquisite quality of Indian jewelry.
- 2 nights in Agra | 1 night in Delhi
- Economy-class flights to Delhi and Cochin
- Travel in air-conditioned deluxe coaches
- Entrance fees and camera and video charges at the Taj Mahal
- Kathak dance performance
- Options to visit Agra Fort; shop in Agra; and receive a private reading of your horoscope

Himalayan Kingdom of Nepal
Become immersed in the culture of Nepal, a country shaped in many ways by the snowcapped Himalayas. That backdrop looks especially dramatic while flying by iconic Mount Everest, yet the cities may be even more striking. Extraordinary stupas rise above Patan, Newari architecture graces Kathmandu and all of medieval Bhaktapur is a UNESCO World Heritage site. Unusual cultural opportunities include an audience with a Kumari living goddess, watching an Aarti prayer offering at a Hindu temple and seeing how singing bowls are used to heal by sound.
- 3 nights in Kathmandu
- Economy-class flights per the itinerary
- Flightseeing over the Himalayas near Mt. Everest
- Visits to 2 UNESCO World Heritage sites
- An audience with a kumari living goddess in Patan
- Camera charges at sites
Ajanta & Ellora Caves
Explore two UNESCO World Heritage site cave complexes, both hand-cut from solid rock to create religious sanctuaries. The 2nd-century Ajanta Caves contain arguably the world’s most important Buddhist wall paintings. The colors are still vibrant, thanks to an infra-red restoration process that removed centuries of grime. The Ellora Caves are noteworthy because their stone sanctuaries are devoted to Buddhism, Hinduism and Jainism, a clear illustration of ancient India’s religious tolerance. The enormous, heavily ornamented Kailasa temple there was carved from a single block of stone.
- 3 nights in Aurangabad
- Economy-class internal flights
- Tours of the Ajanta and Ellorca Caves
- Visit the Black Taj tomb
- Watch artisans weave shawls and sarees
- Camera charges

Cruise to Mumbai (Bombay), India
Mumbai (bombay) shore excursions, amazing experiences coming soon., sorry, there are no excursions for this port at this moment., things to do in mumbai (bombay).
Memorable Mumbai
Gateway of India, arch monument in Mumbai, India
South Mumbai is the worldliest part of the city and home to many of its most-loved sights. Walk around the base of the massive Gateway of India — the arch-shaped monument was built in 1924 and meant to be the first thing visitors see when they arrive by boat. Or pop your head inside the Taj Mahal Palace hotel, one of India's most opulent and recognizable buildings.
Seaside Meditation
View of Mumbai, India, from Marine Drive
Communion with nature is more meditative when you make the journey to the seaside Shree Mahalakshmi Temple — less than an hour each way from the cruise terminal by taxi. And check out Chowpatty Beach, where thousands of locals come to dunk statues of the god Ganesh into the waves each year in September.
Carved From History
Hop aboard one of the many boats bound for Elephanta Island, which sits just offshore from Mumbai and is home to the Elephanta Caves. At this UNESCO World Heritage Site, you'll find caves full of otherworldly rock carvings in both the Hindu and Buddhist traditions.
Local Cuisine
Mumbai is home to fine restaurants, but the best way to understand its culinary disposition is with its street food. Sit down for a masala dosa , India's take on a crepe, which in Mumbai is served with spicy tomato sauce. During your cruise to India, enjoy one of the many fritters for sale at Chowpatty Beach — the potato-and-onion bhaji is popular among vegetarians.
Mumbai is a shopper's pardise, whether you take a walk down Colaba Causeway to browse traditional Mahrashtran jewelry or snag a vintage Bollywood movie poster from any of the souvenir stalls in Apollo Bandar, the neighborhood nearest to the cruise ship terminal. Alternatively, take home a piece of Indian fashion in the form of a woman's sari.

Or journey on the historically rich Ganges in the north; revered by millions of people, it flows through the Gangetic plains to the religious ghats of Varanasi .

Mumbai (Bombay), India
The ever-growing megacity of Mumbai (formerly Bombay) juts out into the Arabian Sea, seemingly emerging like magic from the water. Mostly built on reclaimed land, the metropolis boasts more than 21 million people crammed into its maze of streets, giving rise to the chaotic roads, bumper-to-bumper traffic and overflowing slums that it's famous, or infamous, for. But the city also has Bollywood bling along with multimillion-dollar homes and hotels. There’s a national park smack-dab in Mumbai, and exquisite restaurants and hipster bars. It’s both India’s financial heart and the home of astounding colonial-era architecture. It’s diverse, vibrant and multicultural—packed with people and filled with a contagious energy.
With so much going on, there’s something for everyone. Dive into the action at one of the many outdoor bazaars; wander the famous streets of South Mumbai; be wowed by ancient rock art at Elephanta Island; or learn about more-recent history at the Gandhi Museum. Then, end your day watching the sun sink into the Arabian Sea over dinner and drinks.

Mumbai, formerly known as Bombay, is a bustling metropolis on the west coast of India. As the financial, commercial, and entertainment hub of the country, Mumbai is known for its vibrant energy, diverse culture, and iconic landmarks, such as the Gateway of India and the Marine Drive promenade.

When is the best time to visit India?
The best time to take a cruise holiday to India depends on the region you want to explore and the specific experiences you’re seeking.
Generally, the most popular time for tourism is during the winter months, from October to March, when the weather is cooler and more pleasant in most parts of the country. This is an excellent time to visit popular destinations like Rajasthan, the Taj Mahal, and South India, as the temperatures are comfortable for sightseeing and outdoor activities.
However, if you want to experience India’s vibrant festivals, particularly Diwali and Holi, or explore the Himalayan region for trekking and adventure, the best time to visit would be during the shoulder seasons of spring (March to April) and autumn (September to November). These months offer a balance between manageable weather conditions and cultural experiences.
It’s also essential to consider factors like local holidays, festivals and peak tourist seasons. It’s always a good idea to consult with one of our cruise agents who will give you the best advice!

Alaska is a land of unparalleled natural wonders, and a cruise allows passengers to immerse themselves in its breathtaking scenery. Towering glaciers, pristine fjords, lush forests, and rugged mountains create a mesmerizing backdrop for the entire journey. Witnessing the dramatic calving of glaciers, exploring glacier-carved landscapes, and navigating through glacier-studded waters are highlights of any Alaska cruise. Moreover, the opportunity to observe diverse wildlife in their natural habitat adds to the allure. Alaska’s wildlife encounters are truly remarkable, from majestic whales, sea lions, and seals to bald eagles soaring overhead, and even the chance to spot bears along the coast.
Alaska’s indigenous cultures, including the Tlingit, Haida, and Inuit peoples, offer cruise passengers a rich tapestry of cultural experiences. Visiting native heritage centers, attending cultural performances, and exploring art galleries provide insight into Alaska’s rich heritage. Meeting locals and learning about their traditions and way of life adds depth to the cruise experience, allowing travelers to connect with the region’s history and indigenous communities.

Weather in Alaska
Choosing the Right Time for Your Cruise
Choosing the right time for your Alaska cruise involves considering several factors, including weather considerations, peak and off-peak seasons, and the availability of special events and festivals:
- Weather Considerations: Alaska’s weather can vary significantly throughout the year. The cruise season typically runs from May to September when the weather is relatively milder. May and September tend to be cooler with temperatures ranging from the 40s to 60s Fahrenheit (5 to 20 degrees Celsius), while June, July, and August offer the warmest weather, with temperatures in the 60s to 70s Fahrenheit (15 to 25 degrees Celsius). If you prefer warmer temperatures and longer daylight hours for outdoor activities, the summer months are ideal.
- Peak and Off-Peak Seasons: The peak season for Alaska cruises is generally from June to August when the weather is most favorable, and wildlife sightings are at their peak. During this time, cruise fares and demand are higher, and popular ports of call can be more crowded. If you’re looking for a more budget-friendly option and don’t mind cooler temperatures, consider traveling in May or September, which are part of the shoulder season. You’ll likely find lower cruise prices and fewer crowds.
- Special Events and Festivals: Alaska hosts various special events and festivals throughout the year, which can enhance your cruise experience. For example, the annual Alaska State Fair takes place in August, featuring live music, agricultural displays, and local cuisine. The Alaska Folk Festival in Juneau and the Sitka Summer Music Festival offer cultural and musical experiences. If you’re interested in such events, plan your cruise dates accordingly to coincide with them.
Ultimately, the right time for your Alaska cruise depends on your preferences and priorities. If you prioritize warmer weather and abundant wildlife sightings, summer months are best. However, if you prefer cost savings and fewer crowds, consider the shoulder season. Additionally, researching and aligning your cruise dates with special events or festivals can add an extra layer of enjoyment to your Alaska cruise experience.

Preparing for Your Alaska Adventure
Preparing for your Alaska adventure involves addressing visa requirements, packing essentials, and considering health and safety considerations. Here’s what you need to know:
Visa Requirements for Indian Travelers for an Alaska Cruise
- U.S. Visa: Indian travelers planning to take an Alaska cruise that departs from or stops in a U.S. port, such as Seattle or Vancouver, will typically require a U.S. tourist visa (B-2 visa) or a visa waiver program (VWP) authorization if eligible. The VWP allows citizens of certain countries, including India, to travel to the U.S. for tourism or business purposes without obtaining a visa if they meet specific criteria. However, even with VWP authorization, travelers should check the requirements and apply in advance through the Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA) before boarding their cruise.
- Canadian Visa: If your cruise includes a stop in a Canadian port, such as Vancouver, you may also need a Canadian visa (Temporary Resident Visa) or be eligible for a visa exemption depending on your nationality. Indian citizens typically require a visa, so it’s essential to check the specific visa requirements and apply accordingly.

For this, a draft national strategy for tourism has also been formulated with the aim of making India a preferred cruising destination across deep sea cruises, coastal cruises, river cruises, and yacht cruises.
While cruise lines such as Cordelia Cruises and Costa Cruise are currently operating domestic cruises in the Arabian Sea, the government is also looking to develop river cruise tourism with an investment of INR 450 billion ($5.4 billion).
Europe Introduces New Schengen Visa Rules for Indians
The European Commission has introduced a new visa “cascade” regime for Indians when applying for the Schengen visas. The regime aims to offer longer, multi-entry Schengen visas to Indian tourists.
Speaking to industry players, Skift reported that while multi-year visas with longer durations were already offered to Indians, there was no standard policy in this regard. This new policy is likely to make the issuing of such visas more standardized across all Schengen states.
However, this new regime is not likely to speed up the visa processing times, which is currently posing to be a major challenge for Indians as they gear up for their summer travels.

The Missiles That Could Give US Ally the Edge Over China
The Philippines, a U.S. ally, has hailed as a "game-changer" the delivery of new supersonic missiles that it believes will significantly beef up its coastal defenses amid rising tensions with China.
The first batch of BrahMos cruise missiles , ordered from India two years ago, arrived at Clark International Airport north of Manila on Friday. It was handed over to the Philippine marines to be deployed at an as yet undisclosed location within the country's archipelagic territory.
The high-profile arms transfer comes in the middle of the simmering Philippines-China dispute in the contested Spratly Islands archipelago of the South China Sea, where the Chinese and Philippines coast guards have clashed over territorial features claimed by both sides .
Beijing cites historical rights to all of the sea's islands and reefs, claiming vast maritime zones in the process, while Manila lays claim to territories and traditional fishing grounds within its exclusive economic zone in an area it calls the West Philippine Sea.
The United States backs the Philippines in the maritime dispute and is treaty-bound to defend its oldest ally in Asia should allied service members come under an armed attack.
Jonathan Malaya, the Philippines deputy national security adviser, described the acquisition as a "significant game-changer," the ABS-CBN broadcaster quoted him as saying on Saturday.
Malaya said the system would be deployed once both parts—the missiles and the launchers—had arrived. But Malaya did not elaborate on the delivery schedule.
Manila ordered three batteries of the shore-based, anti-ship variant of the BrahMos cruise missile in a deal with New Delhi worth $375 million. The weapons system is otherwise highly versatile, capable of launching from land, air, sea or undersea against sea or ground targets.
The BrahMos missile is the product of a joint venture between India and Russia , with up to 85 percent of the hardware manufactured in the former.
The missile were delivered on the back of an Indian air force Boeing C-17 Globemaster III, images showed, and the fulfilment highlights India's role as a major arms manufacturer and exporter, at a time when it is also proving itself to be a net security provider amid turmoil in the Red Sea.

And although Beijing and Moscow have grown increasingly close in recent years as part of a joint challenge against the U.S.-led international order, India's latest weapons sale to " China's doorstep " appears to show one of the limitations of the friendship: the Kremlin is unlikely to veto an export at the expense of its historically close ties to New Delhi, even if the capability could give the Philippines an edge over China's forces.
China disapproved of the deal between India and the Philippines, an official suggested.
"The South China Sea issue is a matter between China and some ASEAN countries. China maintains that maritime disputes should be handled properly with countries directly concerned through negotiation and consultation," Liu Pengyu, a spokesperson for the Chinese Embassy in Washington, D.C., told Newsweek in an email.
"Certain non-regional country has sought to stir up trouble and incite confrontation in the South China Sea and jeopardize regional peace and stability. China has always opposed that," Liu said.
The Philippine armed forces, which last fall said it was considering more BrahMos orders, did not immediately respond to a written request for comment. India 's Defense and External Affairs ministries and Russia's Foreign Ministry did not respond to separate requests seeking comment.
Don McLain Gill, a geopolitical analyst and lecturer at De La Salle University in Manila, said the BrahMos cruise missile, with an effective range of 180 miles, was "widely known for not being able to be intercepted by any known weapon system."
"This adds an important and practical layer of deterrence for the Philippines amidst the latter's limited military resources vis-a-vis China," he told Newsweek .
"The supersonic cruise missile adds an important enhancement to the Philippines' ongoing roadmap of bolstering its coastal defense to more effectively exercise its sovereignty and sovereign rights in the West Philippine Sea at a time when China has been relentlessly pursuing its expansionist ambitions against international law," Gill said.
India joined the Missile Technology Control Regime in 2016. The multilateral tacit agreement restricts the export of missiles and rockets for payloads of 1,100 pounds for at least 185 miles, as well as their delivery systems.
Pooja Bhatt, an independent maritime security analyst based in New Delhi, told Newsweek : "With the South China Sea situation between China and the Philippines heating up, BrahMos missile adds to Manila's much-needed coastal defense."
"But more importantly, it's strategic signaling to Beijing that Manila has support from several countries , including India, on the South China Sea issue," Bhatt said.
Malaya, the Philippines National Security Council official, told local media over the weekend that the BrahMos missiles would complement the tracking capability offered by radar systems acquired from Japan.
Manila was "not preparing for war," he said.

India calls on Iran to release 17 Indian crew members on board seized container ship
From CNN's Sandi Sidhu in Hong Kong
India has called on Iran to release 17 Indian crew members on board a container ship seized by Iran on Saturday.
Indian External Affairs Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar said that he spoke to his Iranian counterpart Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian and "took up the release of 17 Indian crew members of MSC Aries."
Four Filipino seamen were also on board the ship, according to the Philippine Department of Migrant Workers.
The department said it was working with its government, the ship owner, and the operator to release the captured seafarers.
On Saturday, Iran’s Revolutionary Guards seized an Israeli-linked container ship in a helicopter operation near the Strait of Hormuz, state news agency IRNA reported.
Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) said there were 25 crew members on board.
Japanese prime minister condemns Iran's attack on Israel
From CNN's Junko Ogura in Tokyo
Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida on Sunday said he "strongly condemns" Iran's missile and drone attack on Israel.
"(The attack) further aggravates the current situation in the Middle East. We are deeply concerned and strongly condemn such an escalation," Kishida told reporters.
Kishida said Japan would continue diplomatic efforts to "prevent the situation from worsening and to calm the situation down," and "respond in cooperation with other countries."
Blinken calls British and German counterparts following Iran's attack on Israel
From CNN's Philip Wang
US Secretary of State Antony Blinken spoke with his counterparts from the United Kingdom and Germany on Sunday following Iran's attack on Israel, according to readouts from the State Department.
All parties agreed "the importance of condemning Iran's attack in the strongest possible terms and preventing further escalation," the readout said.
Blinken earlier held phone calls with his counterparts from Turkey, Egypt, Jordan and Saudi Arabia , in which he emphasized the importance of avoiding escalation in the Middle East and of "a coordinated diplomatic response."
US forces destroyed more than 80 attack drones from Iran and Yemen, Central Command says
From CNN's Philip Wang
US forces intercepted more than 80 one-way attack drones and at least six ballistic missiles from Iran and Yemen during its attack on Israel, according to a statement from the Central Command.
The operation included destroying a ballistic missile on its launcher vehicle and seven drones on the ground in Iranian-backed Houthi-controlled areas of Yemen, CENTCOM said.
"Iran's continued unprecedented, malign, and reckless behavior endangers regional stability and the safety of U.S. and coalition forces," the statement added.
Israeli and Iranian ambassadors trade accusations during UN Security Council session
From Abel Alvarado in Atlanta
Israel and Iran’s United Nations ambassadors condemned each other’s actions during Sunday’s UN Security Council emergency session called to address Iran’s attack on Israel.
Israel’s UN ambassador Gilad Erdan said Iran "must be stopped before it drives the world to a point of no return, to a regional war that can escalate to a world war." Erdan accused Iran of seeking world domination and that its attack proved that Tehran "cares nothing, nothing for Islam or Muslims" before pulling out a tablet to show a video of Israel intercepting Iranian drones above Jerusalem’s Al-Aqsa Mosque.
Erdan called on the UN Security Council to designate the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) as a terror organization.
“Action must be taken now, not for Israel's sake, not for the region's sake, but for the world's sake. Stop Iran today."
Iran’s UN Ambassador Amir Saeid Iravani said his country’s operation was "entirely in the exercise of Iran’s inherent right to self-defense, as outlined in Article 51 of the Charter of the United Nations and recognized by international law."
Iravani said:
"This concluded action was necessary and proportionate," adding that the operation was “precise and only targeted military objectives” to reduce the potential of escalation and to prevent civilian harm. “Iran is never seeking to contribute to the spillover of the conflict in the region, nor does it to escalate or spread the tension to the entire region," he said.
Tehran’s attack had been anticipated since a suspected Israeli strike on an Iranian diplomatic complex in Syria earlier this month.
Iravani added Iran has “no intention of engaging in conflict with the US in the region” but warned Iran will use its “inherent right to respond proportionately” should the US initiate a military operation against “Iran, its citizens or its security.”
Israeli war cabinet says it's ready to respond to Iran's attack but delays immediate action. Here's the latest
From CNN staff
The hours-long Israeli war cabinet meeting ended Sunday night without a decision on how Israel will respond to Iran’s missile and drone attack , an Israeli official said.
The cabinet is determined to respond — but has yet to decide on the timing and scope and the official said the military has been tasked with coming up with additional options for a response.
Separately, a senior Biden administration official told reporters that an Israeli official told the United States that it's not looking to significantly escalate the showdown with Iran.
CNN analyst Barak Ravid said Israeli ministers Benny Gantz and Gadi Eisenkot advocated for swift action, but US President Joe Biden's phone call with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu led to a decision to delay the response until the next day.
Here are the latest headlines:
- Retaliation is over, Iran told US: Iran privately messaged the United States that its retaliation against Israel had concluded, echoing what Tehran said publicly, according to a senior administration official. Late Saturday, Iran said its attack on Israel is a response to Israel's strike on the Iranian consulate in Damascus, and "the matter can be deemed concluded." However, President Ebrahim Raisi said any “new aggression against the interests of the Iranian nation will be met with a heavier and regrettable response,” according to Iran’s state news channel IRIB.
- United Nations response: UN Secretary-General António Guterres called for a de-escalation of violence after Iran’s attack. Guterres said the United Nations and member countries have a “shared responsibility” to engage “all parties concerned to prevent further escalation.” He also called for a ceasefire in the Israel-Gaza conflict. “Neither the region nor the world can afford more war,” he said.
- G7 and others: Amid a flurry of diplomatic activity in response to Iran's attack, the G7 nations said they would work together to "stabilize the situation" in the Middle East, according to a statement from Biden. Also, Jordan summoned Iran's ambassador in Amman on Sunday after it intercepted Iranian drones over the country.
- Meanwhile in Gaza: As thousands of Palestinians were turned away from returning to their homes in northern Gaza on Sunday, a 5-year-old girl was shot in the head by Israeli soldiers, her mother said. Video showed a man carrying a 5-year-old girl named Sally Abu Laila, who was bleeding from her head, with people crowding around her in panic trying to cover her wound.
Also on Sunday:
- Israel decided to lift its restrictions on large gatherings and to reopen schools on Monday.
- The US Department of Homeland Security has not identified any “specific or credible threats” to the US since Iran attacked Israel.
Blinken calls Turkish, Egyptian, Jordanian and Saudi counterparts following Iran's attack
US Secretary of State Antony Blinken on Sunday spoke with his counterparts in Turkey, Egypt, Jordan, and Saudi Arabia following Iran's attacks in Israel, according to readouts from the State Department.
During his phone calls, Blinken emphasized the importance of avoiding escalation in the region and the importance of "a coordinated diplomatic response."
In his conversation with Jordan and Egypt, Blinken also underlined the significance of achieving an "enduring end to the crisis in Gaza."
Iran will be held responsible if any action is taken against the US or Israel, deputy ambassador warns
From CNN’s Abel Alvarado
The United States warned Iran against taking any action against the US or Israel during the UN Security Council emergency session over Iran’s attack on Israel.
“Let me be clear, if Iran or its proxies take actions against the US or further action against Israel, Iran will be held responsible,” US Deputy Ambassador to the UN Robert Wood said Sunday.
The United States is “not seeking escalation, our actions have been purely defensive in nature,” adding that the “best way to prevent such escalation is an unambiguous condemnation of the council of Iran’s unprecedented large-scale attack,” he said.
The envoy reiterated US support for Israel and condemned Iran’s attack. “Iran’s intent was to cause significant damage and death in Israel,” Wood said.
Wood also said the UN Security Council had an “obligation to not let Iran’s actions go unanswered.”
“For far too long, Iran has flagrantly violated its international legal obligations,” he said before listing occasions Iran has violated UN Security Council resolutions and international law.
Wood accused Iran of being in a “broad sense complicit” of the October 7 attack on Israel by providing “significant funding and training for the military wing of Hamas.”
He added the US will explore "additional measures to hold Iran accountable here in the UN.”
