A Thrilling Ladakh Motorcycle Tour on a Royal Enfield

Greetings fellow travel enthusiasts! If there’s one adventure etched in the fabric of my wanderlust-filled life, it’s the mesmerizing Ladakh motorcycle tour . Picture this – the wind in your hair, the sun kissing your face, and the majestic Himalayas unfolding before your eyes. Now, let me take you on a virtual ride through my unforgettable journey on the back of a Royal Enfield in the heart of India’s motorcycle tours paradise.

Setting the Scene Having spent over two decades exploring the diverse landscapes of our incredible country, the Ladakh motorcycle tour was a dream-come-true moment for me. The call of the open road, the promise of breathtaking scenery, and the thrill of conquering some of the highest motorable passes – I was all in.

The adventure began in the enchanting land of Leh, the gateway to Ladakh. With my trusted Royal Enfield revving beneath me, the journey promised to be an exhilarating blend of adrenaline and awe. Motorcycle tours in India have a unique charm, and Ladakh, with its rugged terrain and mystical aura, is a rider’s haven.

The Royal Enfield Experience Setting on this journey astride a Royal Enfield Himalayan rented from Stoneheadbikes , New Delhi – India added an extra layer of nostalgia and authenticity. The thump of the engine echoed through the valleys, creating a symphony that resonated with the soul of every rider. The rugged charm of the Royal Enfield Himalayan perfectly complemented the rugged beauty of Ladakh.

As I navigated the winding roads, the robustness of the Himalayan was put to the test, conquering every twist and turn with grace. The comfort of the ride allowed me to fully immerse myself in the breathtaking landscapes, from the serene Pangong Lake to the dramatic Nubra Valley.

Challenges and Triumphs

No epic journey is complete without its fair share of challenges. Riding through Ladakh, one encounters diverse terrains – from smooth highways to gravel-strewn paths and daunting mountain passes. The altitude can be challenging, so acclimatization is key. Take it slow, enjoy the scenery, and hydrate – that’s the mantra.

One of the highlights, or should I say hurdles, was the famed Khardung La Pass, known as one of the highest motorable passes in the world. The air became thin, and each breath felt like a triumph. But as the prayer flags fluttered in the wind, signaling victory, the sense of accomplishment was unparalleled.

Unexpected Encounters and Cultural Immersion

As I continued my journey through Ladakh, it wasn’t just the landscapes that left an indelible mark on my soul; it was the warmth of the people and the richness of their culture. One of the joys of motorcycle tours is the ability to stop spontaneously, interact with locals, and absorb the essence of the places you traverse.

On the outskirts of Leh, I encountered a small village where time seemed to stand still. The villagers welcomed me with open arms, sharing stories of their lives in the shadow of the mighty Himalayas. It was a humbling experience, a reminder that travel is not just about reaching a destination but embracing the journey and the people along the way.

Nubra Valley: A Desert Amidst the Mountains

As my Royal Enfield rumbled through the dramatic landscapes, the journey took me to the surreal Nubra Valley. Surrounded by snow-capped peaks, this high-altitude desert was a sight to behold. Riding along the winding roads, I marveled at the stark contrast between the cold desert and the towering mountains.

A unique experience awaited me in Nubra – a camel safari amidst the sand dunes. Yes, you read that right! Double-humped Bactrian camels, a rare breed native to Central Asia, plodded along the dunes, carrying me through this unexpected desert oasis. It was a surreal moment, a blend of adventure and tranquility that perfectly encapsulated the magic of Ladakh.

Monasteries and Spiritual Serenity

Ladakh is not just a haven for adventure seekers; it’s also a spiritual sanctuary dotted with ancient monasteries. The monastic architecture against the backdrop of snow-clad peaks creates a spiritual ambiance that is both serene and awe-inspiring.

Hemis Monastery, perched on a hill, felt like a gateway to another realm. The rhythmic chants of monks resonated through the prayer halls, and the vibrant Thangka paintings adorned the walls, telling tales of centuries gone by. It was a moment of quiet reflection, a pause in the journey to absorb the spiritual energy that permeates the Himalayan air.

Into the Heart of Pangong Lake

The crescendo of my Ladakh motorcycle tour reached its peak as I navigated the rugged terrains leading to Pangong Lake. The ever-changing hues of the lake, from deep blue to turquoise, mirrored the shifting emotions of my journey. Camping by the lake under a blanket of stars was a surreal experience, a communion with nature that made the entire trip worthwhile.

Navigating Challenges and Triumphs in Ladakh

The journey through Ladakh wasn’t without its share of challenges. As I navigated the serpentine roads carved into the rugged terrain, I encountered unexpected weather changes. Ladakh, with its high altitudes, can be a game-changer. One moment, the sun was casting a warm glow on the barren landscape, and the next, I found myself maneuvering through an unexpected hailstorm.

Here’s a tip: always be prepared for unpredictable weather. Pack layers, a sturdy rain jacket, and, most importantly, a positive attitude. The weather might throw a curveball your way, but it’s just another part of the adventure.

The Khardung La Experience: Triumph at High Altitude

The highlight, or perhaps the pinnacle, of the Ladakh motorcycle tour was conquering the renowned Khardung La Pass. At a breathtaking altitude of over 18,000 feet, this pass is not for the faint-hearted. As I ascended the winding roads, each turn brought a mix of excitement and anticipation.

Tip for the brave hearts: acclimatization is crucial. Take it slow, enjoy the vistas, and listen to your body. Altitude sickness is a real possibility, but with proper acclimatization, the journey becomes not just a physical triumph but a mental one.

Reaching the summit of Khardung La, prayer flags fluttering in the wind, was a moment of sheer triumph. The air might have been thin, but the sense of accomplishment was thick in the Himalayan atmosphere. The panoramic views of the valleys below were a testament to the raw beauty of Ladakh.

Culinary Delights and Local Flavors

A journey is not just about the places you visit but also the flavors you savor along the way. Ladakh, with its unique blend of Tibetan , Indian, and Central Asian influences, offers a gastronomic adventure of its own.

Stopping at roadside dhabas, I relished Ladakhi delicacies like Thukpa and momos, warming my soul with each flavorful bite. Here’s a tip: indulge in the local cuisine, but also keep some energy bars and hydration essentials handy for those remote stretches where roadside eateries are a rarity.

Budget-Friendly Tips for the Road

Now, let’s talk practicalities. A Ladakh motorcycle tour on a budget is not only possible but adds an extra layer of authenticity to the adventure.

Accommodation: Opt for guesthouses and homestays, not only to save money but also to immerse yourself in the local culture.

Fueling Up: Fuel prices can vary, so plan your fuel stops strategically. Carrying a jerry can of extra fuel can be a lifesaver in the vast stretches where petrol pumps are sparse.

Permits and Paperwork: Ensure all necessary permits are in order before you embark on your journey. It saves time and potential headaches along the way.

DIY Repairs: Basic motorcycle maintenance skills can come in handy. A flat tire or a loose bolt shouldn’t dampen your spirits; be prepared to handle minor repairs on the go.

Reflections on a Journey Well-Ridden

As I reflect on my Ladakh motorcycle tour, the memories play out like a reel of adventure, camaraderie, and self-discovery. The Royal Enfield became more than just a mode of transportation; it was a companion, a reliable steed that carried me through the twists and turns of the Himalayan roads.

The Ladakh motorcycle tour, with its challenges and triumphs, is a tapestry woven with threads of courage, resilience, and an unquenchable thirst for exploration. Tips for the Road Warriors

For those planning their Ladakh motorcycle tour, here are some road-tested tips:

Prep Your Ride: Ensure your motorcycle is in top-notch condition. Ladakh’s rugged terrain demands a robust machine.

Pack Wisely: Ladakh’s weather can be unpredictable. Pack layers, a good quality riding jacket, and essentials like a tool kit and spare parts.

Acclimatize Gradually: Altitude sickness is real. Spend a day or two in Leh to acclimatize before heading to higher altitudes.

Stay Hydrated: The mountain air can be deceptively dry. Keep sipping water to stay hydrated.

Capture Memories: Don’t forget your camera. Ladakh offers postcard-perfect views at every turn.

Counting the Cost of Adventure

Now, let’s talk about the nitty-gritty – the budget. Ladakh motorcycle tours can range from budget-friendly to a bit splurge-worthy, depending on your preferences. On average, a 10-day tour, inclusive of accommodation, meals, fuel, permits, and bike rental, can set you back anywhere between $800 to $1500. Of course, costs can vary, but the experience is absolutely priceless.

Final Thoughts and Fond Farewells

As I reluctantly bid farewell to Ladakh, I carried with me not just memories but a transformed perspective. The Ladakh motorcycle tour on a Royal Enfield is not just an adventure; it’s a soul-stirring odyssey that challenges, inspires, and rejuvenates.

To those considering this two-wheeled pilgrimage, I say, do it. Embrace the thrill of the ride, the beauty of the landscapes, and the warmth of the people. Let the Himalayas be your guide, and the Royal Enfield your trusty steed. In Ladakh, every turn in the road is a chapter in an epic tale of discovery and self-realization.

As I park my Royal Enfield, its engine humming its final notes, I know this is not the end. The road beckons, and there are more adventures to unfold. Until then, fellow wanderers, may your travels be filled with open roads, friendly faces, and the timeless charm of the Ladakh motorcycle tour. Ride on!

FAQs Click to expand

Do i need a visa click to expand.

Yes, unless you are a national of Nepal, Bhutan or the Maldives. If you are from an eligible country, the easiest way to get one is to apply for an e-tourist visa online, but make sure you visit the official site… Here’s the link .

Assuming you live in an eligible country / territory you can apply online up until a minimum of 4 days in advance of the date of arrival with a window of 120 days. So for example, if you are applying on 1st Sept you can select arrival date from 5th Sept to 2nd Jan.

For peace of mind, we recommend you do this nicely in advance to avoid any delays or issues. The visa lasts 60 days so unless you decide to extend your trip for vastly more than the length of the tour, then this should be plenty. When you arrive at Delhi airport, there is an immigration form to fill in before you queue up to show your visa. Now we all know Brits love to queue but don’t wait to get to the front just to have the man send you to the back past everyone to fill in the form, it’s just embarrassing.

Follow this link for the most up to date entry requirements. This is a link to the UK foreign office website – if you are not a UK resident, please search for the equivalent info from your home country’s foreign office.

Visa costs, if applicable, are not included in the tour price.

How can I avoid altitude sickness? Click to expand

  • Stay well hydrated. Caffeine and alcohol impacts hydration, so it’s a good idea keep intake to a minimum until you are acclimatised.
  • Apparently a high potassium diet helps. Lots of bananas then…
  • Make a conscious effort to breathe properly as we climb to higher altitudes – you want to saturate your blood with oxygen. Your tour leader will explain this in more detail in your welcome briefing.
  • Diamox is an altitude sickness tablet – please do your own research on this – if you decide you would like to take these, we always carry a stock with us. You’ll want to start taking these in Delhi, before we start climbing.
  • Oxygen – we carry oxygen bottles with us on every trip. Our medic will keep an eye on everyone and monitor peoples stats. He will administer oxygen if necessary.
  • Ibuprofen if you start to feel a headache coming on.

How do I book? Click to expand

To secure your place we simply need a 20% non-refundable deposit (subject to a minimum of £500). The remainder does not need to be paid until 60 days prior to the tour start date.

How do I carry my main luggage? Click to expand

This Royal Enfield motorcycle tour will be followed by either one or two support vehicles depending on group size. This means that all your luggage goes in there rather than having it bounce around on the back your Royal Enfield for miles on end. You just need to take either a tank bag or small rucksack for your camera and any travel essentials.

Is Ride Expeditions insured? Click to expand

Yes. Here at Ride Expeditions, we take the necessary precautions to ensure that we protect both ourselves and you as the customer, with insurances covering financial failure, public liability, professional indemnity and employers liability (you will need your own travel insurance).

To obtain this insurance we must meet strict safety standards and local regulations. We must also carry out thorough risk assessments about all aspects of a tour before tyres can hit tarmac (…or dirt!).

Is it safe to drink the tap water? Click to expand

NO! Although the locals may be drinking tap water, doing the same has a strong possibility of playing havoc with your insides. It’s called Delhi Belly for a reason.

We recommend that you drink only bottled water and that you check the seal before drinking. If you choose canned drinks, give the lid a good wipe beforehand just to be sure. And when brushing your teeth, rinsing with bottled water is a good idea too.

Is my money safe? Click to expand

Yes. All passengers booking with Ride Expeditions Ltd are fully insured for the initial deposit, and subsequently the balance of monies paid as detailed in your booking confirmation form. The policy also includes repatriation if required, arising from the cancellation or curtailment of your travel arrangements due to the insolvency of Ride Expeditions Ltd. This insurance has been arranged by Towergate Travel through Evolution Insurance.

Is this trip suitable for those with limited mobility? Click to expand

Not riding the motorcycle, no (although this will of course depend on the extent of your limited mobility). However, we may be able to accommodate you in our support vehicle. We advise you to give us a call and we can discuss.

Is wi-fi available throughout the trip? Click to expand

In theory yes, although in practice, Wi-Fi coverage can be slow at best, slower on average and non-existent on many occasions. We advise you activate your ‘out-of-office’!

What are the health / immunisation considerations? Click to expand

For the most accurate and up to date info, we advise you visit the Indian page of the ‘Travel Health Pro’ website .

Please also consult with your own doctor at home at least 8 weeks before your trip.

What currency should I bring with me? Click to expand

This one is both simple and complicated. The local currency is Indian Rupees – INR. However, unless you are a resident of India, importing rupees is prohibited so you cannot actually obtain the notes outside the country itself like you can for other countries.

You can either bring in other currencies to exchange when in India, or simply withdraw rupees from ATMs as you would back at home. Well we say that, but if you are in a remote village with only three residents, a yak and an elderly donkey, there may not be an ATM, so don’t expect universal coverage throughout the trip!

If you do bring cash, US dollars are universally welcome. Bitcoin, coloured buttons and belly button fluff are not. Whatever you bring, try not to exchange too much at the arrival airport – the exchange rate is terrible! There are ATMs at the airport too.

What documents / licenses do I need? Click to expand

To be legally riding in India you are required to carry your local driving licence, which must cover the size of bike you will be riding. This will also be a stipulation of any travel insurance company too.

You will also need an International Driving Permit (IDP). An IDP is basically an official, multi-language translation of your driving licence.

What is the average group size? Click to expand

Average group sizes are 8-9 riders and we limit the groups to 14 riders.

What is the cancellation policy? Click to expand

If you cancel your booking before departure, cancellation charges will be applied as follows:

  • 61 days or more before tour start date – retention of deposit
  • 42-60 days before tour start date – retention of 50% of tour price
  • 28-41 days before tour start date – retention of 70% of tour price
  • 0-27 days before tour start date – retention of 100% tour price

Please refer to our Terms & Conditions for further info regarding cancellations, changes and transferring your trip to a friend.

What is the official travel advice? Click to expand

For the most accurate and up to date info on travel advice for India, we advise you to visit the foreign office website.

Follow this link for Indian advice from the UK foreign office. As we are a UK company, this is the official government advice we follow. If you are not a UK resident, we advise you search for the equivalent info from your own country’s foreign office, as travel advice may differ.

What's the minimum number of riders required for this tour? Click to expand

The minimum required number for this trip to run is 6 riders. We reserve the right to cancel the tour if this number is not met and we will provide you with a minimum of 56 days notice. Please know that this is an absolute last resort for us and we will always do everything in our power to avoid this happening.

Which payment methods do you accept? Click to expand

We accept GBP payments by Visa, Mastercard & American Express and direct bank transfers. Please get in touch if you would rather pay in another currency – we’ll do our best to accommodate!

Which plug types are used in India? Click to expand

There are 2 types of sockets in India – 3 Pin connections – Type D, or 2 pin connections -Type C.

Manali Leh Tour on Royal Enfield

  • Cost Details

Trip Introduction

Destination, maximum altitude, trip duration, conquer the himalayas: manali to leh royal enfield adventure.

Embark on a once-in-a-lifetime journey through the heart of the Himalayas with the thrilling Manali Leh Tour on Royal Enfield. This unforgettable adventure promises not only breathtaking landscapes and high-altitude challenges but also an immersion into the unique cultural tapestry of the region. From traversing the world's highest motorable roads to witnessing awe-inspiring high passes and pristine lakes, this motorcycle tour is a test of both mettle and appreciation for nature's grandeur.

Unleashing the High Passes:

Riding a Royal Enfield, renowned for its ruggedness, you'll conquer seven high passes that punctuate the formidable terrain. The trip reaches its zenith at Kardung La Pass, standing at a staggering 5,615 meters above sea level, earning it the title of the highest motorable pass on Earth. Tanglang La and Chang La, the second and third-highest passes, offer heart-pounding elevation gains and panoramic vistas that will forever be etched in your memory. Each pass presents a unique challenge, pushing your riding skills to new heights while granting you an eagle-eye perspective of the awe-inspiring landscapes below.

Cultural Encounters and Spiritual Resonance:

Beyond the sheer thrill of the ride, the Manali Leh Tour on Royal Enfield offers cultural encounters that enrich the journey. As you journey through the remote terrain, you'll witness the distinctive architecture of monasteries that dot the landscape, their tranquility juxtaposed against the rugged backdrop. The colorful prayer flags fluttering in the wind serve as a vivid testament to the spirituality of the region. Stopping for lunch and tea breaks, you'll hear the hauntingly beautiful chants of mantras that echo across the valleys, a reminder of the spiritual essence that permeates the land. Encounters with local hermits engrossed in their rituals are rare opportunities to connect with the profound spirituality of the Himalayas.

Lakes that Mirror the Sky:

The Manali Leh Tour is not just about conquering passes; it's about encountering the sublime beauty of high-altitude lakes. The tour unveils two majestic lakes that appear as mirrors reflecting the sky. Pangong Tso Lake, at an elevation of 4,350 meters, captivates with its crystalline waters surrounded by majestic mountains. Tso Kar Lake, nestled at 4,620 meters, offers a serene oasis amidst the rugged terrains, inviting travelers to pause and reflect on the wonders of nature.

The Ultimate Test of Endurance:

Riding through the Himalayas isn't merely an adventure; it's a test of endurance that pushes riders beyond their limits. The thin air, winding roads, and steep inclines demand physical and mental fortitude. However, the rewards are immeasurable – a sense of accomplishment, an unbreakable bond with fellow riders, and a deeper connection with the mystique of the mountains.

The Manali Leh Tour on Royal Enfield isn't just a journey; it's a transformative experience that challenges, enriches, and inspires. From conquering high passes to immersing in the spiritual essence of the Himalayas and marveling at pristine lakes, this adventure is a testament to human tenacity and the raw beauty of nature. July and August mark the optimal time for this expedition, promising clear skies and a chance to create memories that will last a lifetime.

You will be having an early morning breakfast, as today we will be heading towards Nubra Valley, which is also known as the “Valley of Flowers”. But behold, as you will be riding over an acclaimed mountain pass, the mighty Khardung La (17,582 ft.), which in fact is a gateway to this valley.

And after successfully crossing this high mountain pass, you will ride towards Turtuk, a majestic village known for its fruit plantation, especially apricots.

Later in the evening, you will make your way to Hunder, which, to be honest, is an oasis in the middle of this cold desert. And finally, we will conclude our day by spending the night in a boutique resort surrounded by stunning Himalayan landscapes.

Day #4 Nubra Valley - Pangong Tso

Another early start to the day as you will set off for Lake Pangong via the Shyok Route. Located at an altitude of 13,940 feet, Pangong Lake or Pangong Tso, an endorheic lake, is known for its sparkling blue water and mesmerizing backdrop.

The ride to the lake offers many sightseeing opportunities and once you have reached, you can spend the rest of the day relaxing in an oasis of serenity.

But lo and behold, as the best is yet to come! An overnight stay by the lake will be arranged, along with a lovely bonfire for a short get together with the team.

On the fifth day, you will head back to your base camp (Leh city). So, following a hearty breakfast by the lake, you will make your way to the mighty Changla Pass (the tenth highest motorable pass in the world: 17,586 ft.) and ride back to the city of Leh. And after reaching the lakeside, you can relax for the rest of the day in a traditional Ladakhi settlement.

Day #7 Tso Moriri - Leh

Top 5 Places You Will Visit On This Motorcycle Tour

Ladakh : A dream destination for wanderers, backpackers, moto travelers, adventure seekers and nature lovers.

So, if you think that Ladakh is only an adventurous destination suitable for extreme riders, you probably are unaware of the beautiful places the region has to offer. As such, if you are planning a motorcycle trip to Ladakh and wondering what you will get out of it besides a great ride – here is a list of 5 most beautiful spots that are part of this tour.

Nubra Valley

Nubra Valley

Nubra Valley, also called Dumra, is a historical region of Ladakh situated at an altitude of around 10,000 feet above sea level. This valley is the most scenic and amongst the best tourist destinations in Ladakh.

With its stunning backdrop and gracious locals, Nubra Valley, which was once an ancient trade route connecting to Yarkand (an autonomous region of China), is in fact one of the cherished destinations amongst motorcycle enthusiasts.

Nestled in the heart of the great Himalayas, this region is one of the last treasures of our planet due to its remoteness. Indeed, a visit to Nubra is not just a journey, but a travel experience – the huge sand dunes of Hunder in this valley make a spectacular setting for an overnight stay that ought to be experienced once in your life.

Pangong Tso

Pangong Tso

Remember the sparkling clear lake and scenic route we mentioned in the itinerary? Well, this lake is what we were talking about and is indeed one of the most fascinating places to visit in Ladakh.

And while lakes and streams are not uncommon in the Himalayan region, none of them can compare to this picturesque Pangong Tso. And not only that: depending on the time of day, you can observe different shades of blue until evening. Then after sunset, millions of stars can be seen reflecting on its surface.

Believe it or not, it is one of the most beautiful lakes in the world and can be reached from your base camp (Leh) by venturing on a short 6-hour ride. Surprisingly, Pangong Tso freezes over in winter, even though it is considered to be the highest saltwater lake in the world! How fascinating is that?

Tso Moriri

The magnificent Tso Moriri Lake, situated in a remote corner of the Himalayas, is considered to be the largest snow-covered lake of India. Located at an altitude of more than 14,835 feet above sea level in a treacherous mountainous terrain, it appears nothing but a heavenly gift. However, owing to its high altitude and challenging route, not many riders embark on this journey.

This beautiful blue lake, measuring approximately 7 kilometers in width and around 19 kilometers in length, is home to a diverse array of flora and fauna.

And while we agree that Pangong Tso is by far more famous, it’s Tso Moriri that will simply leave you in awe. All in all, it is a must visit and worthwhile destination for anyone who embarks on a motorcycle tour of Ladakh.

Hemis Monastery

Hemis Monastery

About 45 kilometers from the city of Leh, you will come across the monastery of Hemis, which dates back to the 11th century. This monastery was built during the reign of the Ladakhi King Singe Namgyal in 1627 AD and houses numerous beautiful artworks, engraved statues, and ancient swords that were used by the king. Being a Tibetan monastery, it is the most extravagant and remarkable site in Ladakh that has still preserved the largest of all Thangka paintings.

Above all, the Hemis religious community celebrates their main annual festival in this monastery, which is held in honor of Lord Padmasambhava . It is one of the most exciting festivals in the world involving spiritual mask dance commonly known as Cham .

In the 18th and 19th centuries, Hemis was restructured into its present appearance with a large assembly hall and a spacious courtyard. It now features a three-dimensional structure representing Mandala and is filled with countless artistic treasures making it one of the most outstanding examples of Buddhist architecture and a special highlight of our motorcycle trip.

Royal Leh Palace

Royal Leh Palace

Most of you would associate Ladakh with religious monasteries, clear blue lakes, breathtaking landscapes and high mountain peaks. However, with its Royal Kings and Palaces, Ladakh is also entwined with a rich history.

The enormous 17th-century Leh Palace, designed to resemble the former residence of the Dalai Lama (Potala Palace of Tibet), overlooks the marketplace and winding streets of this city. It is a 9-storey high mansion, where the upper floors were originally utilized by the royal family, while the lower floors were used for storage and supplies.

This Royal Leh Palace is about 4.5 kilometers from the Leh Airport and is accessible by road. Currently, the Palace is maintained by the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) and the view from the terrace is breathtaking. So, be sure to explore this wonderful architecture on the first day of your trip!

How To Plan Your Ladakh Motorcycle Tour?

Anyone who is willing to embark on a motorcycle tour of Ladakh is usually overwhelmed with all kinds of possibilities. But the first real question is: How to start planning your trip? So, before you get down to the practical tasks involving packing, flight booking, etc., the first thing you should focus on is finalizing the itinerary.

Typically, the route you choose and the places you wish to visit on your expedition will determine the number of days required for a motorcycle trip to Ladakh. For instance, you can start your trip either from Delhi, from Manali or directly from the capital of Ladakh by flying straight to Leh from New Delhi International Airport.

As such, you will need to spare at least 18 days for a motorcycle trip starting from Delhi. But if you can’t devote that much time, you have the option of starting the tour from Manali and riding all the way to Ladakh via the Leh-Manali Highway, bringing the total duration of the tour to 14 days.

And if you are interested in traversing the entire Ladakh range while keeping the duration of the tour to a minimum, you can fly directly to Leh and start your journey from there, which incidentally would take around 9 days.

Always remember that planning a motorcycle trip in advance is the best way to get yourself prepared for the experience. And you should certainly devote enough time to think about all the places you would want to visit and how much time you can actually spend riding towards them.

If you are on a tight schedule, it is highly likely that you will constantly pressure yourself during the tour and may even want to skip some important destinations in order to finish the trip quickly.

So, be sure to work out a practical itinerary that includes plenty of free time between two major destinations to make this trip as exciting and relaxing as possible.

Royal Enfield Himalayan

Best Motorcycles For Touring In Ladakh

Every rider must first of all give consideration to the motorcycle on which he has practical hands-on experience. After all, riding in the mountains can be extremely demanding as it requires a lot of off-roading skills.

And by choosing a motorcycle that you can manage well and that is anything but difficult to maneuver has always proven to be helpful in such ventures. So, make sure you go for comfort rather than style.

If you are looking for suggestions: Royal Enfield’s Himalayan is the most popular machine among motorcyclists, topping the charts year after year when it comes to touring in Ladakh. There is a reason for this, which is why so many of these can been in the Indian mountains. And thanks to its low center of gravity as well as ease-of-control, the bike remains stable in all kinds of terrain.

But besides the Himalayan, there are a few other recommended brands if you want to try something different: BMW R 1200 GS, Triumph Tiger 1200, Honda Africa Twin and Hero Xpulse.

For a detailed insight, check out our article on some of the best motorcycles for touring in Ladakh .

Best Time To Embark On a Motorcycle Tour Of Ladakh

Unlike the rest of India, a rather different time is recommended for traveling into the Indian Himalayas.

This is because while the rest of India experiences peak summers, this would be the ideal time to enjoy a motorcycle trip through Ladakh. Especially if you have decided to visit some remote regions that involve crossing a high mountain pass, as these routes are only open from May until September.

Slightly lower-lying regions of Ladakh, such as the capital Leh, can be accessed year-round if you fly directly into the city from New Delhi. However, expect heavy snowfall and adverse weather conditions if you plan to travel apart from the said months.

Altogether, the best time to venture on a motorcycle trip around Ladakh starts from May and remains till last week of September with the approximate temperature ranging between 10 to 15°C during the day. However, the month of June & September are particularly ideal for motorcyclists as you won’t find many tourists at this time of the year.

Ladakh motorcycle tour packing checklist

Things To Pack For Your Ladakh Motorcycle Trip

While there are a lot of things motorcyclists could agree on, no one seems to be absolutely right on one basic question: Packing.

Fortunately, you’re in for a treat today, because as experts in motorcycle touring , we have come up with a list of what to take and what to leave for your motorcycle trip to Ladakh. But do remember, our checklist is just an aid – and what is absolutely necessary depends on you entirely.

Required Physical Fitness For Touring In Ladakh

Long distance motorcycle tours require a good level of fitness, which is why it is often recommended to prepare several weeks in advance for your trip by following fitness regimes on a routine basis.

A multi-day motorcycle tour of Ladakh should not be underestimated – for the sake of your own safety. This is because an adventure such as this demands considerable amount of motor skills including an accurate responsiveness of your arms, shoulders and neck, especially on the curves.

In addition, this adventure involves riding in extreme weather conditions that eventually puts a lot of strain on the body.

Moreover, the oxygen content in the air is much lower than elsewhere, which greatly increases the risk of Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS). It is therefore advisable to prepare the body well before such a trip to improve overall endurance and breathing capabilities.

Pro Tip: A regular fitness routine of more than six hours per week boosts cardiovascular health and your ability to recover quickly from exertion – and is the best way to prepare yourself for the Himalayas.

Tips For Riding Motorcycle In Ladakh

When you think of motorcycle touring in India , the first thing that comes to mind is the Himalayan mountains of Ladakh. And while there are certainly some straight roads you can find there, that is not often the case.

Given that most of you would be traveling from the west, here are few tips to help you ride in the mountains.

Tip 1: Not only do you need an agile motorcycle, but also a good sturdy helmet, waterproof pants, touring jacket, riding boots and motorcycle gloves to ensure complete safety in this treacherous region of Himalayas.

Tip 2: While entering a blind curve, it is important to have a clear view of the oncoming traffic as soon as possible. And in case something comes up unexpectedly, you as a motorcyclist need to be able to react quickly and accurately.

Tip 3: Always stay on the left-hand side while you are riding, unless you are overtaking, which should never be done without getting a clear view.

Tip 4: Watch out for falling rocks, gravel or black ice. These are typical warning signs of upcoming danger. And be careful: strong winds usually bring a lot of debris and loose splinters along with them.

Tip 5: Do not engage the front brakes excessively (else they will overheat and fail). It is better to shift down a gear and allow the engine to do the work.

Tip 6: Himalayan passes are often quite treacherous. As such, a good physical fitness is highly recommended!

Tip 7: In general, while riding in the high mountains of Ladakh, you must expect extreme weather conditions, including snow. So, be prepared for uncertainties at all times and pack accordingly.

Tip 8: If you are a novice rider, you should improve your riding skills by enrolling in one of the basic motorcycle safety foundation courses available near you. This is because you will be riding on winding and unpaved roads that are quite demanding and require at the least intermediate level of expertise.

Tip 9: Before venturing into any of the remote regions, it is wise to check with the locals about the condition of the road as well as the expected weather.

Tip 10: And lastly, touring in Ladakh is not just about challenges, remember to take as many stoppages as you like to embrace your journey and to relax.

How much does Ladakh motorcycle trip cost?

The classic way to calculate the cost of a Ladakh motorcycle trip is to determine the expected individual expense. For instance: tour package price, international flight charges, visa fees, and other miscellaneous costs (helmet, boots, jacket, etc.).

Now once you have made a list of these expenses, curate them all and add them up to get a ballpark figure. However, this calculation is never accurate and never reliable as there is always a possibility of unexpected expense including but not limited to shopping.

To give you a realistic idea of the actual cost involved on a trip to Ladakh, let’s just say for a 9-day tour, take a note of the following expenses.

All in all, if you opt for a 9-day of motorcycle trip to Ladakh, you will have to keep a budget of $4,920 aside.

However, this expense can be controlled and kept to a bare minimum. The most common way to keep your spending under control is to keep a list of your expenses. We recommend our riders who participate in our guided tours to use TravelSpend , a fairly simple app that is free (basic version) and serves the purpose.

All you do is enter the expenses under the relevant categories (e.g., alcohol, shopping, snacks) to get a graphical representation of how much you have spent and how much you are probably going to spend in the upcoming days.

Will I get altitude sickness while touring in Ladakh?

With rising altitude, the air pressure decreases and so does the ability of a body to absorb oxygen. However, once our body experiences conditions such as these, it immediately begins to adapt with the situation which can be seen by an increased heart beat in order to transport more oxygen to the blood. But this process may last for couple of days depending on the altitude you are riding.

Altitude sickness can affect riders of all age groups, both men and women, smokers and non-smokers alike. Therefore, it is best to address the problem before it becomes worse.

In short, mild symptoms of altitude sickness are quite common while touring in Ladakh. These symptoms fade away in a couple of days as you begin to acclimatize. So, during the first few days of your arrival, make sure you wear warm clothes and maintain a healthy diet.

Staying hydrated enough with electrolyte and water will also help your body to absorb oxygen better. Butter tea, fresh juice, and warm soup will also help, but refrain from alcohol at least for first few days.

Do I need a visa to participate in Ladakh motorcycle tours?

All the participants that would like to venture on a motorcycle tour of Ladakh are required by law to obtain an Indian visa prior to their departure from home country.

This applies to all foreign nationals, including those from Europe, UK and USA. However, you don’t need to visit any Indian embassy for this, as you can submit the application form online directly with the Bureau of Immigration ( Click here to visit website).

Your Indian visa will be emailed to you once it has been issued, and all you have to do is print it out and carry along with you.

Advice : Since you are visiting the country just for leisure, you can apply for an e-visa, also known as ETA (Electronic Travel Authorization), which is the cheapest and fastest way to get a tourist visa.

Do I need travel health insurance?

All the participants that have private insurance cover need to check their policy for international coverage. Typically, coverage outside the home country is limited, and not all policies include medical evacuation in the event of mishap.

This is why we recommend that you choose a specialized travel health insurance that covers your health outside of your home country as well. This type of insurance will protect you in case you fall sick or require any kind of treatment during your trip.

Subject to certain conditions, it will also cover the cost of return transport. Moreover, these insurances are not very expensive and usually cost around $150 for a two-week long trip.

What is the minimum & maximum number of participants in this tour?

In order to guarantee a quality service at a reasonable price, we require a certain number of participants. As such, we require a minimum number of 6 riders (excluding pillion riders) to successfully commence a guided motorcycle tour.

In the event that this is not achieved, we can propose an exclusive private motorcycle tour for you and your friends for a small surcharge.

Likewise, a maximum of 14 riders are allowed in a group in order to guarantee a satisfactory experience.

Is there an option to modify the tour?

A group of 6 or more riders may, by mutual consent, request customization before booking the tour. Such customizations may include a change in the overall duration of the tour, starting date, addition of specific destinations, altogether different motorcycles, or changes in the level of difficulty.

As an alternate to the aforementioned motorcycle tour, we also have few other routes on offer. Feel free to explore our entire range of Himalayan motorcycle tours to get a detailed insight.

Do pillion riders hold a guaranteed seat in the support vehicle?

All the pillion riders accompanying the tour have a guaranteed seat in the backup vehicle.

However, do note that we may change the vehicle type depending on the number of pillion riders accompanying the tour. For instance, a couple of pillion riders can easily relax in the back seat of an SUV, but if the group size is significantly big, we would switch to a 15-seater mini-bus.

Do I need a driving license?

Yes, international travelers must carry their country-issued driver’s license along with international driver’s license in order to drive any kind of motorized vehicle in India.

This international driver’s license is a kind of translation of your country issued license and is meant to make it easier for the officials or the traffic patrol officer to check whether you are authorized to ride a motorcycle or not.

What documents do I need for participating in this tour?

Apart from a valid driver’s license, passport and your ETA / Visa, all the international riders visiting Ladakh need to carry a Protective Area Permit (PAP Act 1958) to visit regions that are close to the international borders or are deemed restricted by the Government of India to ensure the protection of ecosystem and the local culture alike.

Not to worry though, the day you arrive in Ladakh, our representative will ensure that you have this important document issued before we enter in these restricted regions.

Do note however, if you are a diplomatic passport holder, a member of the United Nations, or a citizen of any neighboring countries of India ( see list here ), you will have to apply for this permit yourself three months in advance from either Indian Ministry of External Affairs or Home Affairs.

How much is the security deposit for the motorcycle?

You are required to deposit cash in the amount of $500 prior to the start of the tour. This deposit will be refunded in full after inspecting your motorcycle at the end of the tour.

And while all minor tumbles or tip-overs that do not significantly damage the motorcycle are generally covered by us, no refunds shall be made in the event of a serious fall, particularly involving negligence on the part of rider.

Where can I keep my luggage?

As a guided motorcycle tour operator, we bear the responsibility for carrying all the luggage on the tour. We usually bring a pickup truck along on these kinds of tours to store reserve fuel, spare parts, and luggage of all the tour participants.

Do I need to buy an Indian SIM card for my phone?

Except for some remote locations where even Indian sims won’t work, almost all regions in the Himalayas have an Internet connection.

So, in most cases, you will have access to a Wi-Fi network in your hotels, through which you can connect with your friends and family back home. Besides, we usually lend a cell phone to our group in case the local network is slow or has a poor connection. All in all, the choice is yours!

Do I need to follow any traffic laws in Ladakh?

All the Indian traffic laws and regulations apply to the Himalayan region of Ladakh as well.

Remember that vehicles in India drive on the left side of the road. Moreover, as a motorcyclist, always make way for bigger vehicles in case they are overtaking or are coming from the opposite direction.

And remember, honking in India is not at all offensive. It is sometimes used as a gesture to warn someone or as a precaution while entering a blind curve.

Road signs are equally important to understand as they guide drivers on the road. Read everything about them here .

What can I eat or drink in Ladakh?

Motorcycle touring in Ladakh also means relaxing over a cup of tea or enjoying your time with a delicious bowl of hot soup and noodles in between.

You will find many restaurants and cafés that serve authentic traditional dishes as well as international cuisines (Chinese, Nepalese, etc.), so you can really indulge in anything you like.

As for beverages, in Leh, the capital of Ladakh, there are many good bars and pubs that offer countless alcoholic options such as scotch, wine and beer. In the other remote regions, you won’t find much except for beer, so you can keep some reserve in the backup vehicle if you wish.

Should I bring Indian rupees to Ladakh, or are US dollars preferable?

It is advised to carry Indian rupees with you during the entire tour period.

All the international travelers are allowed to carry a maximum of 25,000 rupees while crossing international borders. However, you can bring in up to US$5,000 in cash into India without following any legal formalities. Should you wish to bring in more foreign currency, you will need to fill out a customs declaration form provided by the authorities.

Upon arrival in India, you can either use your credit / debit card with pin to withdraw cash from the ATMs found almost in every part of the city, or you can visit a foreign exchange counter at the airport.

KTM Duke-  On roads like those in Ladakh, being a lightweight bike might be helpful. KTM can also be a fantastic option for a  Leh Ladakh Bike Trip  with their new engine variations of Duke 390 and Duke 250 models.

CBR 250-  Except for its Contigo tyres, which can be a little challenging to handle on the terrain in Ladakh in the event of a change in weather, this Honda Bike is a natural beauty. The Bike’s torque and FI technology may be put to great use and used for a larger purpose if the tyres can be replaced, which is a positive factor.

The organization of bike rentals has also taken the Bajaj Vikrant, Yamaha FZ, Yamaha Fazer, and Hero Impulse into account while choosing the best for  Leh Ladakh Bike Trip . Even though the engines on these bikes aren’t as powerful, they may accelerate quickly while moving (without breaking any laws).

Line

When you arrive in Manali on the second day of your Leh Ladakh bike tour, a member of our crew will pick you up at the bus stop and take you to your hotel. In the evening, you will meet with our Ride Captain or Tour Leader for a briefing, introduction to your motorcycles, examination of your riding gear, safety precautions, and other key components of the tour, followed by dinner. Sarchu

Day 3 - Manali to Sarchu - 175 KM

After breakfast, we'll get in the saddle for one of the world's most adventurous motorcycle tours, where you'll be riding for the first time ever. It will be the Leh Ladakh bike journey. We will leave Manali town and travel along Solang Valley Road to Dundhi Village, which is the starting point of the "Atal Tunnel," the longest high-altitude road tunnel in the world that extends for approximately 9 kilometres on the Manali-Leh highway. From there, we will travel to Telling Village, which is located on the other side of the tunnel. Before reaching Sarchu today, we will traverse the Baralachala Pass, which is 4890 metres above sea level. Sarchu is at the height of 14000ft and oxygen level is always differing from low altitude areas

leh

Day 4 - Sarchu to Leh - 250 KM

We will begin our journey toward Leh, the primary destination of the Ladakh motorcycle trip, after an early breakfast. The route from Sarchu to Leh is particularly difficult because, before arriving in Leh, we must pass over the Gata Loops, Nakeela Pass, Lachungla Pass, Moore Plains, and Tanglanga La pass. Therefore, travelling from Sarchu to Leh should take no more than 8 to 10 hours. So get ready for the Leh Ladakh bike tour's longest ride. We should be able to go to Leh by evening. Leh is 3500 metres above sea level.

leh

Day 5 - Leh Rest Day

We finally arrived in Leh after a two-day, exhausting bike ride from Manali . Since Leh is situated at a height of 3500 metres above sea level, it is crucial that you all get enough sleep so that you can adjust to the following days. There won't be any motorcycles available today since we need to prepare the bikes for our upcoming adventure tour.

Pangong Tso Lake

Day 6 - Leh to Pangong Tso Lake - 160 KM

Soon after breakfast, we will begin our bike to Pangong Tso Lake, but not before passing through several checkpoints and submitting our restricted area and inner line licences. We must pass across Changla Pass, the third-highest motorable road in the world at a height of 5360 metres above sea level, before arriving at Pangong Tso. We'll get to Spangmik village, which is by Pangong Tso Lake, by early evening. Today, our accommodations will be in tents. Pangong Lake is situated 4225 metres above sea level.

Nubra Valley

Day 7 - Pangong Tso Lake to Nubra Valley - 175 KM

We will begin the seventh day of our Ladakh motorcycle tour by heading toward Nubra Valley after spending the previous night at the shores of Pangong Lake. The Nubra Valley is the coldest desert in the entire Himalayas and is located at a height of 3000 metres above sea level. Since we will be travelling through Shyok Valley today, the majority of the trip will be off-road. We will arrive at Hunder in the evening, and if we have time, we'll spend some time at the Hunder Sand Dunes.

Nubra Valley to Leh

Day 8 - Nubra Valley to Leh - 135 KM

After breakfast, we will depart from Hunder and travel to Diskit Monastery, which is the oldest monastery in the Nubra Valley and where a statue of Maitreya Buddha is located. After that, we'll start climbing toward Khardungla Top, the highest motorable road in the world at 18380 feet above sea level. Since the Khardungla pass is the main draw of the motorbike trip from Delhi to Leh, we will spend some time there before beginning the descent to Leh. By early evening, we will arrive in Leh, where you can spend the rest of the day exploring and shopping for trinkets.

Leh Local Sightseeing

Day 9 - Leh Local Sightseeing

Today's ride will be leisurely, and we'll start looking at the local attractions in and around Leh. After breakfast, we'll visit Magnetic Hill, Likir Gompa, and Alchi Monastery. By early evening, we'll be returning to Leh, where you can spend the rest of the evening exploring Shanti Stupa.

sarchu valley

Day 10 - Leh to Sarchu - 240 KM

After exploring one of Mother Nature's most magnificent wonders, we will begin our return trek on the Delhi to Leh Ladakh Bike Trip. We will be travelling on the same Manali-Leh route that we used for our last leg of the trip as we head towards Sarchu. By early evening, when we get in Sarchu, we can explore and take some magnificent photos of the city and the mountains that surround it.

Sarchu to Manali

The Road to Ladakh: A 5200km Ride on Royal Enfield

A trip to Ladakh is the ultimate relief from the scorching heat of summer in India. Bikers and road trippers eagerly wait for the right time to hit the road to Ladakh in the thick of summer, while the rest of India keeps the fingers crossed in prayer to the god of rains for showers. Evidently, Ladakh road trip is an endless story . Previously, Jatin Kapoor, MD of Alternate Atlas, shared his Ladakh trip story with Indian Eagle . Now, Radhika Sharma from India has her own story to tell on Travel Beats .

I am always fond of traveling though I am unlike travel junkies who are driven by wanderlust. But I am a petrol head cum road tripper with the passion for driving anything that has an engine in it. In June, 2010, my innate desire for driving took me on a trip to the valley of Ladakh in the Himalayas only to discover the pristine beauty that India is. [pullquote] Not all trips make good stories! But my trip will surely make an inspirational story for the readers of Indian Eagle .[/pullquote]

My Ladakh road trip is all about 8 friends, 5 bikes, lots of riding and Ladakh itself. The carrier of choice was Royal Enfield for the life-long journey from Mumbai to Leh via Delhi and Manali. We rode the Royal Enfield bikes for a whopping distance of 5200 kms. Despite being an avid petrol head, I did not drive the bike on that trip. Rather, I preferred being a pillion all the way. We friends got together in Delhi, and then set out for a 520km long ride to Manali when the night began getting darker.

The bikes were serviced in Manali for hassle-free, efficient riding. We picked a first aid kit, some medicines, some snickers and new helmets too. We took an off road to Rohtang and got closer to our destination. June is a month of the rainy season in India. Rohtang, the lord of all passes on the eastern Pir Panjal range of the Himalayas, too receives spells of rain off and on. It was a massive hurdle during the trip.

The rainfall caused a landslide which resulted in huge sludge. We got stuck on the way for over 10 hours. One of the bikes broke down adding to our misery. I could not keep up sitting on the back for long; I fell off the bike, and the bike then fell on me injuring one of my feet when the bike was pushing hard to drag itself through the smudge . However, we had a nice time awaiting us ahead just as every cloud has a silver lining.

It took us 5 days to reach Leh. We took shelter at the roadside hotels along the way (most of them were basically decent tents with blankets and beds at cheap rates). We survived on Maggi for a few days. But the thrill of the trip was worth it. Though neither smooth nor plain like city roads, the roads to Leh are drivable and therefore, worth a mention.

More Inspiration 10 Best Road Trips for Biking in India

We had a nice time over cups of chai (tea) on the roadside camps where we chatted with good-hearted people. The warmth of hospitality is still left with me. The pleasure of having Maggi at high altitudes is many times more than that on plains. The same is true about the taste of food at the roadside dhabas. After an eventful ride for 5 days and nights, Leh was our home for the next three days.

[pullquote] Leh is a perfect holiday destination for different people with different tastes .[/pullquote] There are cafes, adventure spots, and spots for leisure. Leh offers day trips to nearby lakes and hills. The place has a bit of antique charm that makes me feel relaxed with a desire to lay back turning my back on all worries. However, my posterior was relieved only when we checked into a hotel where we got read beds.

Then, we rode our bikes up to Khardungla, the world’s highest motorable pass at 17, 582 ft. What a great feeling! The next couple of days were spent taking trips to the beautiful Pangong Lake and the Shanti Stupa (the temple). Pangong Lake is the most scenic lake that I have ever seen in my life. The shimmering reflections of the surrounding mountains on the pristine blue waters of the lake do still take me on an imaginary trip. Then was the time to hit the road back home.

Leh, the ultimate destination of our biking trip, was worth riding all the distance. Our Ladakh road trip that lasted 10 days gave me a wealth of memories for lifetime . Finally, the road to Ladakh is neither a path of roses nor a bed of thorns. It is altogether a new experience, a pleasant memory, an inexplicable thrill, and an overwhelming joy!

Going on a bike trip is like hard-core backpacking through the roughest of mountains. It is an adventure trip to Ladakh, which requires light packing while still carrying all the basic requirements. While packing your belongings, keep the following trip preparations for a solo bike ride to Leh Ladakh in mind.

Choose a waterproof, strong, and sturdy carry bag.

Utilize the space. Wrap your sunscreen, toothbrush, and other essentials inside a towel.

Valid photo identity proofs, including your driver's license, are also required.

Carry sweatshirts, tees, jeans, shorts, shirts, tracks, innerwear, socks, a towel, and other clothing that you may feel is necessary.

Ripping gears are required.

Carry a Swiss army knife for self-defense because riding a bike automatically raises the risk level.

Hotels, guesthouse & camps images for where to stay during ladakh road trip

You can find multiple hotels and guesthouses in Srinagar and Leh too, which offer a wide range of hotels and guesthouses. Although there are well-equipped camps at Pangong, Tso Moriri, Sarchu, Jispa, and Tso Kar, only five monasteries in Ladakh offer or allow comfortable overnight stays. However, you cannot deny that it is still a remote region, cut off from the rest of the world for several months of the year. Before going to a faraway land like this, you must have information about your accommodation choices. It will be a crucial part of your itinerary to know where you can stay at night or in bad weather conditions.

An Indian road cause the duration of a ladakh road trip

The duration of a bike road trip to Ladakh depends on a lot of factors, like the route you have taken, your starting point, your entire schedule, and mainly the weather and road conditions. But for an idea, a Leh-Ladakh bike tour would span over a period of 10 to 20 days or more, where you can add additional days if you are traveling from cities like Mumbai, Goa, Hyderabad, or Chennai.

First, we need to get our bike serviced properly from the authorized manufacturer store. Check if your bike's tires have half of their grip left, engine oil, brake oil, radiator oil, suspension gasket, any leaks, fuel tank FI condition, ABS functionality, and brake pads, and you can get your bike serviced properly in approximately 3,000 to 4,000 (excluding tires). Now you should figure out your budget. A lot depends on the vehicle you are selecting for your journey, and the Leh-Ladakh road trip cost would also vary depending on the accommodation and kind of food you choose to eat. Still, an average budget can be arrived at by considering basic factors such as accommodation, meals, and fuel. Hence, under normal circumstances, you will end up spending approximately 40,000 for a trip to Leh Ladakh on a bike for 15 days, but if you enroll in the same from The Tarzan Way, you might end up with a much better offer and package.

Good cooperation from Meilleur Holidays and made our trip comfortable. Wonderful trip over 10 days 09 nights. Hindu temple visit in Batu cave on the way to Genting Hiland and delicious Dosa in breakfast i ever ate in India. Natural beauty and walk in cloud above 6000ft from sea level in Genting Hiland was charming and one night stay in Genting Hiland with dinner in Malaysian style will made the evening more enjoyable. Next two days and two night in Kuala Lumpur city along with KL and Twin Tower visit was my dream. Sea beauty and Cable car ride through cloud in Langkawi Island along with beauty of city were immemorable. Collection of marine animal and birds in Langkawi aquarium i ever seen. two days and two nights in Langkawi print a idea in our mind that beauty of Malaysia is the concise form of beauty of whole Asia. Rest of 5 days and 4 nights in Singapore gave us opportunity to enjoy the Garden of Bay, Pleasant wind from sea of Santosa Island and collection of Maddame Tassaud museum were unforgettable. No one can realise the international level of collection in Singapore zoo along with animal show and light and sound show technology in Santosa without visit. I enjoyed food in Indian, Western, Japanese and Malaysian preparation in all places. Don't forget to carry a light warm cloth and umbrella for cable car journey in both Genting Highland and Langkawi Island. Currency exchange were little bit of difficult locally in Genting Hiland and Langkawi Island. So, do it in Kuala Lumpur City/Airports. If you want to see any place by your own then you can book taxi through Grab apps. One thing always keep in mind that in Singapore local tourist vehicle operators used to maintain a strict timetable and your drop and pick up vehicle may not be of same number and even may not be of same capacity. If you miss, no need to panic. Book taxi through Zig apps. Automatic technology in Airports must be accepted in our country also.
