On Wednesday (Sept. 7), the Country Music Association revealed its slate of final nominees for this year’s awards ceremony, with Combs earning nominations for entertainer of the year, male vocalist of the year and album of the year for Growin’ Up .

Wilson emerged as this year’s leading CMA Awards nominee in her inaugural nomination year, earning nominations in six categories, including album of the year for Sayin’ What I’m Thinkin’ . Her nominations haul makes Wilson the fourth artist in CMA Awards history to earn six or more nominations in their first year on the ballot, after Glen Campbell (1968), Brad Paisley (2000) and Kacey Musgraves (2013).

Johnson’s CMA nominations include male vocalist of the year, new artist of the year, as well as single of the year and music video of the year (both for his No. 1 Billboard Country Airplay hit “‘Til You Can’t”).

Country Superstar Luke Combs Kicks Off His Record Breaking World Tour in Arlington, and Shares Deep Love for Texas

C ountry superstar Luke Combs kicked off his World Tour in Arlington, Texas at AT&T Stadium on Saturday, March 25, 2023. It’s the first of his sixteen slated North American stadium shows, all of which are complete sell-outs. In fact, as of this weekend, there are only two international stops with any remaining seats ― but you’ll have to travel to either Hamburg, Germany, or Zurich, Switzerland to snag those.

Seriously, Hamburg and Zurich, what are you waiting for?

It’s the largest tour ever for a country artist, bringing one of the genre’s biggest names to some 39 shows across three continents and 16 different countries. That’s right, a country singer is selling out stadiums not just in Texas and Tennessee, but also in Australia, New Zealand, the U.K., Ireland, Germany, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Switzerland, France, and Belgium. That’s how far Combs’ sultry and instantly recognizable voice has traveled so far.

The popularity of Luke Combs cannot be underestimated. He remains the CMA Entertainer of the Year, after receiving that award for the second-consecutive year last November. He’s a member of the Grand Ole Opry and an eight-time CMA, three-time ACM, and three-time  Billboard  Music Award-winner, with hits including Going, Going, Gone , Beautiful Crazy, and Beer Never Broke My Heart . I’ll bet, just like me, you’re already humming along.

New Music And Gettin’ Old

Combs’ newest album, Gettin’ Old (a companion to last year’s Growin’ Up) , was just released on Friday, March 24 ahead of his world tour’s kick-off concert in Arlington. This is where the balladeer really hits his stride, making the most of his powerful vocal range, legendary salty tone, and storytelling prowess. You feel every verse, and it’s easy to make these songs your own.

Outdoor Dining with Bering's

Bering's Gift's April 2024

It’s interesting to put the Growin’ Up and Gettin’ Old album covers side by side. On one, you see a youthful smirk on the singer’s face with a honkey tonk in the background. On the newest album, the smirk is gone. His expression on Gettin’ Old has been replaced with a knowing realism, and in the background is a ranch-style home with its wrap-around porch. How quickly priorities change.

“This album is about the stage of life I’m in right now” Luke Combs admits. “It’s about coming of age, loving where life is now but at the same time missing how it used to be, continuing to fall for the one you love and loving them no matter what, living in the moment but still wondering how much time you have left, family, friends, being thankful, and leaving a legacy.”

luke combs world tour germany

That’s heady stuff ― a lot to ponder, but Combs takes it all on, over the course of 18 soulful tracks, on his new album. And, the first song sets the stage. It’s called Growin’ Up and Gettin’ Old ― one of four album tracks he had advanced prior to Friday’s release ― including Joe (that Combs wrote for those struggling with alcohol addiction and choosing to live a sober life), Love You Anyway , and 5 Leaf Clover , which he released on St. Paddy’s Day.

“A while back my buddy Newdy and I were looking around the clover plot at my house for four-leaf clovers,” Combs says of his new song by the same name. “I eventually found one, but shortly thereafter, he found a five-leaf clover and I thought to myself, ‘Man, how lucky do you have to be to find a five-leaf clover?’”

Kicking Off The World Tour In Arlington

The crowd arrived early to hear a line-up of four other warm-up acts — including Brent Cobb, Flatland Cavalry, Lainey Wilson, and Riley Green ― before the headliner hit the big stage, dressed in his trademark black Columbia PFG shirt, blue jeans, and a black trucker hat branded with Blue Otter Polarized (his sponsored brand of Watauga style sunglasses).

The crowd erupted each time Combs flashed his innocent smile, and he was seen carting around his other notable on-stage prop ― a Solo cup ― but at this show, Combs had switched from his traditional red Solo to blue. They were stacked four deep by the end of the evening. He opened his first tour date with the song Lovin’ On You .

“I put a new album out yesterday,” Luke Combs explained to a knowing audience.

The first selection off his new album was  Love You Anyway , which the crowd seemed to already know by heart. They sang back up loud and proud on many of his biggest hits, earning their own solo performances from time to time like on One Number Away . And, when Combs sang his 5 Leaf Clover (which has been out for less than 10 days), and the crowd already knew every line ― the singer seemed astonished, and couldn’t stop smiling in appreciation.

“Here we are 50-something thousand deep at AT&T Stadium,” Combs noted at one point.

So, let’s get the obvious criticism out of the way. It’s too bad that Texas’ only shot at seeing Luke Combs on this tour was in AT&T Stadium, with its notably underwhelming acoustics. It’s a concrete cavern, built for sporting events, unlike Dallas’ American Airlines Center or Fort Worth’s Dickies Arena ― both of which were built with acoustics in mind. That’s why Paul McCartney’s only Texas stop last year was at Dickies Arena instead.

While Luke Combs was a great show, and achieved the goal of one tour stop in the great state of Texas, packing in the fans ― it could have been so much better in a better venue ― one designed for music. Now, back to the show.

Luke Combs – Hits the road for 38 more stops on his world tour which kicked off Saturday at his only Texas stop. (Photo by Courtney Dabney)

“It all started with me and my blue guitar,” Combs reminded his fans, as he donned his famous cobalt blue acoustic guitar for the first time to sing Going, Going, Gone . His name shimmered in inlaid mother of pearl on its fret.

One groom-to-be had all the single women swooning (and all their boyfriends kicking themselves) during Combs’ Forever After All ― as his proposal was spotlighted on the big screen. As if that wasn’t memorable enough, Combs relayed his guitar pick to the happy couple as an added souvenir.

“I’m 33 years old and moved to Nashville nine years ago,” Combs said in the lead-up to his ode to Texas, Houston, We Got A Problem . “The first place I went after I got a record deal was the great state of Texas. I’m not sure if there’s any place on God’s green earth that I love more than Texas.”

It seems Texas agrees. There are few country artists that fans love more than Luke Combs.

Combs has also announced that his new single will be ‘Outrunnin’ Your Memory’. The song is a classy duet with Miranda Landa lifted from Combs’ current ‘Growin’ Up’ album. It brings a slightly nuanced, Californian sunset sound to Combs sound and will surely provide him with his next number 1.

Luke Combs plays the following UK & Ireland Dates: October 2023 Fri 13th    Dublin, Ireland, 3Arena Sat 14th    Belfast, N. Ireland, SSE Arena Mon 16th    Glasgow, Scotland, OVO Hydro Arena Tues 17th    Manchester, England, AO Arena Thurs 19th    London, England, The O2 Arena   Full tour details can be found at  www.lukecombs.com .  Yesterday, Combs (the reigning CMA Awards winner of Entertainer of the Year) was announced as having been nominated again for country music’s highest honour. Combs won Album of the Year in 2020 and, with this year’s nods, he has received 18 total nominations since 2017.   A member of the Grand Ole Opry and a 6x CMA, 3x ACM, 3x Billboard Music Award-winner, Combs is in the midst of a record-setting and historic series of years. His previous release, ‘What You See Ain’t Always What You Get’ debuted at #1 on the all-genre Billboard 200 chart as well as Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart. With the record Combs reached #1 on Rolling Stone’s Top 200 Albums chart, Top 100 Songs chart and Artists 500 chart—the first country artist ever to lead all three charts in the same week and first to top the Artists 500. He also made history as the first artist ever to have their first two studio albums spend 25 weeks or more at #1 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart—breaking Taylor Swift’s previously held record at 24 weeks.  LUKE COMBS FULL WORLD TOUR DATES 2023 : March 2023 Sat 25th    Arlington, TX, AT&T Stadium*   April 2023 Sat 1st     Indianapolis, IN, Lucas Oil Stadium* Sat 15th    Nashville, TN, Nissan Stadium* Sat 22nd    Detroit, MI, Ford Field* Sat 29th    Pittsburgh, PA, Acrisure Stadium*   May 2023 Sat 6th    Chicago, IL, Soldier Field* Sat 13th    Minneapolis, MN, U.S. Bank Stadium* Sat 20th    Boise, ID, Albertsons Stadium* Sat 27th    Vancouver, BC, BC Place*   June 2023 Sat 3rd    Edmonton, AB, Commonwealth Stadium* Sat 10th    Kansas City, MO, GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium* Sat 17th    St. Louis, MO, Busch Stadium*   July 2023 Sat 8th    Tampa, FL, Raymond James Stadium* Sat 15th    Charlotte, NC, Bank of America Stadium* Sat 22nd    Foxborough, MA, Gillette Stadium* Sat 29th    Philadelphia, PA, Lincoln Financial Field*   August 2023 Weds 9th    Auckland, New Zealand, Spark Arena+ Fri 11th    Brisbane, Australia, Brisbane Entertainment Centre+ Weds 16th    Sydney, Australia, Qudos Bank Arena+ Sun 20th    Melbourne, Australia, Rod Laver Arena+ Weds 23rd    Adelaide, Australia, Adelaide Entertainment Centre+ Sat 26th    Perth, Australia, RAC Arena+    September 2023 Sat 30th    Oslo, Norway, Spektrum   October 2023 Sun 1st    Stockholm, Sweden, Annexet Weds 4th    Copenhagen, Denmark, Vega Fri 6th        Hamburg, Germany, Barclays Arena Sat 7th    Amsterdam, Netherlands, AFAS Live Sun 8th    Paris, France, La Cigale Tues 10th    Zurich, Switzerland, The Hall Weds 11th    Brussels, Belgium, Ancienne Belgique Fri 13th    Dublin, Ireland, 3Arena Sat 14th    Belfast, N. Luke Combs revealed his highly-anticipated list of international tour stops on Thursday morning (September 8). The reigning iHeartRadio Music Awards Country Artist of the Year made the long-awaited announcement on his website and his social media channels, confirming that his 35-concert tour will span three continents, stopping in 16 countries. The worldwide trek will include special guests Riley Green , Lainey Wilson , Flatland Cavalry , Brent Cobb , Cody Johnson and Lane Pittman on select dates, the announcement shows.

“This is my 2023 World Tour!” Combs captioned, adding fan club and presale info. “Tickets will go on sale to the public next Friday, September 16.”

Combs’ announcement comes shortly after he seemed to drop major hints at his tour stops in a cryptic video shared to his social media channels this week. Grabbing a bright red marker, Combs began circling locations on a map, beginning with a few in the U.S. before branching out. The clip saw Combs circling Dallas, Nashville, Charlotte, London, Amsterdam, Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane. He said in his caption at that time that a “big announcement” was on the way.

Before that, Combs seemed to hint at an international trek  when he shared an image on his social media channels that read: “Can’t wait for my 2023 tour. Where would y’all like to see us play next year?” Many commenters couldn’t help noting that some of the letters stood out, spelling out the words “WORLD TOUR.”

Now, fans can see that his tour stops include New Zealand, Australia, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Germany, Switzerland and more. See his full list of tour dates below .

Combs will be performing at the 2022 iHeartRadio Music Festival this September, and fans can tune in and watch live via an exclusive stream each night on September 23rd and 24th on The CW app and  CWTV.com . The CW Network will also broadcast a two-night television special this October. Additionally, the festival will be broadcast live for fans via iHeartRadio stations throughout the country across more than 150 markets, and on the iHeartRadio app.  Find available tickets .

49 Winchester Announced as Support for Luke Combs’ UK and Europe Tour Dates

By Maxim Mower

Luke Combs has unveiled the opening acts for his blockbuster 2023 world tour, with Appalachian country-folk prodigies, 49 Winchester , set to join him on all of his European dates.

Combs will embark on his European leg on September 30, with shows lined up in the UK, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Germany, Netherlands, France and more.

Also supporting Combs on his performances in the UK and Europe will be Ray Fulcher, Drew Parker and James McNair, who will play as part of a special pre-show writer's round.

Given the intensity of Combs’ high-energy live shows, starting off the set with a drawn-in writer's round will be the perfect way to easy attendees into a night of stellar music.

UK country fans will get a taste of the electricity 49 Winchester bring to their live shows at the upcoming C2C Festival in London.

The band will be performing a number of times across the weekend.

The Virginia-based outfit will perform an array of hits from their diverse repertoire, including ‘Russell County Line’, ‘Annabel’, ‘Long Hard Life’ and ‘Damn Darlin’’.

Ray Fulcher serves as another popular choice as support among Luke Combs’ fanbase, given the fact that the Georgia native has co-written a range of Combs’ hits over the years.

Fulcher's co-writes include ‘Even Though I'm Leaving’, ‘When It Rains It Pours’, ‘Lovin’ On You’, ‘Does to Me’, ‘Moon Over Mexico’, ‘Out There’ and numerous others.

Drew Parker is another songwriter-turned-solo-artist, with Parker having penned Luke Combs fan-favourites such as ‘Forever After All’, ‘1, 2 Many’, ‘Nothing Like You’ and ‘Lonely One’.

Another up-and-coming artist, James McNair, will complete Luke Combs’ European writer's round line-up.

As part of the announcement, Luke Combs revealed he'd also be making more spaces available to his world tour shows, due to many of them selling out shortly after tickets were made available.

3 continents, 16 countries, 35 concerts - country superstar and reigning CMA Entertainer of the Year Luke Combs is embarking on an extensive world tour in 2023. The upcoming tour will cover 16 stadiums across North America, including, for example, AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, and Nissan Stadium in Nashville, plus concerts in Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Germany, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, France, Belgium and Switzerland.

Country superstar Luke Combs, whom the New York Times calls "the most promising and influential new country star of the last five years," is a multi-platinum selling artist from Asheville. In the summer of 2022, Combs released his third studio album, "Growin' Up," which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart, marking another milestone in his career. The new work follows 2019's triple platinum album "What You See is What You Get" and his quadruple platinum debut "This One's For You." Since its release, the new album has received much acclaim and praise.TheTennessean writes of the release, "one of music's mightiest voices and a hitmaking force arguably unlike any seen out of Nashville this century," while Rolling Stone magazine says, "his detail-rich songs make Growin' Up a big-time country album with a tip-jar-worthy intimacy" and Vulture praises him with, "a true country-music behemoth."

Luke Combs sells out all 16 of his World Tour stadium concerts, breaks a few venue sell-out records

luke combs world tour germany

Luke Combs ’ 2023 World Tour concerts are in high demand: The superstar has sold out 37 out of the 39 dates he’s got on the books, including all 16 stadium concerts.

Along the way, he broke three venue records. His shows at Arlington’s AT&T Stadium and St. Louis’ Busch Stadium are the fastest to have sold out at those venues; his show at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts, sold out faster than any show by a first-time performer at the venue.

His upcoming international run marks one of the fastest-selling United Kingdom tours ever by a country artist, and his planned show in Stockholm, Sweden, has been moved to a larger venue to accommodate fan demand.

There are a few tickets remaining for two of Luke’s World Tour shows -- one in Hamburg, Germany, and one in Zurich, Switzerland. Fans hoping to get their tickets should hurry, as the bulk of the World Tour sold out within hours.

Exclusive: Luke Combs Kicks Off 'Growin' Up And Gettin' Old' Tour With His Iconic Miller Lite Hat Collection

Combs gave us all the juicy details on his tour and awards nominations!

luke combs x miller lite

"I’m just excited to be touring again. My crew had a well-deserved break and I enjoyed time off with my family, but I love playing shows—that’s my favorite part of this whole thing, so I’ll love being back out on the road and getting to play two shows a week," Combs told Country Living.

Combs Shares the Motivation Behind Gettin' Old

A lot has changed for Combs since his country music debut, including marrying his wife Nicole , welcoming two sons into the world, and amassing millions of fans. As he's growing up and getting older, his music has evolved from light-hearted party anthems and breakup songs to more heartfelt and mature country ballads (don't worry, there are still a few party songs in the mix).

"I mean, just as I get older and as things in my life change—being married and having two boys—my music seems to follow that in more of a serious aspect when it comes to what I’m singing about. Of course still some party songs thrown in there, but definitely a lot more songs with a deeper meaning," Combs said of his musical evolution.

Life on the road looks a little different now for the husband and father of two, and he admits that he values family time on tour above all else. "I bring my wife, Nicole, when I can. That’s the best thing. And my dog sometimes. And of course the boys when we can. Anytime they’re out or my parents and family, the road feels like home," Combs explained.

He's Still the Same Luke Combs We Know and Love

While Luke Combs may be growing up, there's a few things that haven't changed about the "Beautiful Crazy" singer: his love for Tracy Chapman's "Fast Car," trucker hats, and Miller Lite.

Of course, we had to confirm whether "Fast Car" made the cut for the "Growin' Up and Gettin' Old" Tour setlist. Fans, breathe a sign of relief: "Yes, we'll definitely be playing 'Fast Car.' Tracy's song has really resonated with my fans so I love playing it for them as much as I love the songs myself," Combs said. Now that that important fact is cleared up, we can move on to Combs's other mainstays: his hats and his beer.

Luke Combs's Hat + Miller Lite Obsession: A Series

It's rare to catch Luke Combs without a trucker hat on his head, whether he's on the red carpet, performing, or out on the town. Seriously, we think he may have an entire closet devoted to hats, but possibly the largest portion of his collection rep his favorite beer, Miller Lite. "I keep it casual most of the time. I love Miller hats. I have a huge collection of them and wear them all the time," Luke admitted.

Creating a Miller Lite x Luke Combs Tour Trucker hat was an absolute no-brainer. "Miller came to me about creating my own—it was perfect. We made sure to add elements of my album art and Miller Lite's design throughout. I really love the design that we pulled together," Combs continued.

luke combs miller hat

Not only can you rock the same hat as Luke Combs for the price of a Miller Lite 24 pack, the hat could also end up being your ticket to a Luke Combs concert! When you buy The Miller Lite x Luke Combs Trucker (available April 17 at shop.millerlite.com ), you're entered to win two tickets to a Luke Combs concert, beer money, and two tickets plus free travel to Luke's Bootlegger Bonfire Weekend.

"I love Miller Lite and it's as simple as that. Miller Lite has been my go-to beer for years now and I love working with them to bring more beer and more music to fans," Combs concluded.
