This 2.5-hour nightlife tour begins in the Art Deco District of the world famous South Beach and takes you across the historic Venetian Causeway through some of the 32 manmade islands that dot Biscayne Bay. The causeway offers an incredible view of Miami Downtown skyline and the Port of Miami. Once on the mainland, we take you through downtown Miami, past the Performing Arts Center, the American Airlines Arena, Bayfront Park and the Miami Tower.

South Beach’s southernmost tip includes a spectacular waterfront park with plenty of green space for picnics or lounging as you watch the cruise ships sail by. It boasts ample metered parking, plus the park features access to both the beach and a walkable pier.

Time Out tip: It’s walking distance from Joe’s Take Away , Joe’s market-style counterpart, where you’ll get Miami’s freshest crabs to go for the ultimate beach picnic.

Don’t discount the bitty museum for its size—The Bass is a renowned contemporary art institution that packs incredible collections and traveling exhibitions into its diminutive edifice. Patrons should also keep an eye out for the colorful public art that constantly moves through the museum lawn.

4.  Miami Beach Botanical Garden

The 50-year-old, 2.6-acre urban garden had a facelift in 2011 and is back to being a popular spot to spend time away from the bustle of the city for visitors and locals alike. This charming pedestrian boulevard is home to one of our favorite South Beach cafes, A La Folie. A bohemian hideaway for nearly 20 years, it serves homey, locally hard-to-find French classics like tartiflette, a gooey potato-and-onion gratin dotted with cubes of fatty bacon and layered with pungent Reblochon cheese.

Time Out tip: Newer spots have revived the promenade, including Andalusian hotspot Tropezón and the buzzy Roof at the Esmé Hotel . Longstanding dive Kill Your Idol is a solid late-night proposition, especially for karaoke on Thursdays.

7.  Mac's Club Deuce

A favorite of the late celebrity chef and travel journalist Anthony Bourdain, this smoke-filled spot is charmingly out of character for South Beach, and "eclectic" doesn’t begin to describe the mix of denizens who gather here nightly. The Deuce attracts the motliest, coolest, scariest crowd of any bar in Miami. And for good reason: Its pool table, jukebox and vintage neon wall art are the ideal complements to a legendary daily two-for-one happy hour that goes from 8am to 5pm.

New World is home to America’s only full-time orchestral academy, so fellows from around the world regularly put on concerts here. Looking to keep it casual? The adjacent SoundScape park hosts free outdoor Wallcast concerts and movies throughout the season, perfect for packing a picnic and enjoying a screening under the stars. New World’s concerts are often fun collaborations with local DJs, famous composers and more, so things don’t feel as stuffy as normal orchestras.

9.  Sunset Harbour

This quieter pocket of South Beach overlooking the sailboat-dotted Intracoastal Waterway is populated by locals who live in its highrise condos plus in-the-know visitors who come to enjoy the charming scenery and a smattering of excellent restaurants, bars plus outdoorsy activities like paddleboarding, kayaking and scooter rentals.

Time Out tip: For a breezy, seafood-centric brunch, Stiltsville Fish Bar is a great option. Local coffee institution Panther has a home here, along with the popular Pura Vida cafe.

This recently expanded rooftop venue inconspicuously overlooking Lincoln Road has quickly become one of South Beach's trendiest destinations. Upstairs, find a sprawling indoor-outdoor bar and lounge decked out in luxe materials with a central water feature where fire dancers perform throughout the night. Downstairs, an additional 7,900 square feet of space contains a dimly lit members-only cocktail lounge and gorgeous omakase counter, rounding out the chic Mediterr-Asian-themed experience.

11.  Wolfsonian-FIU

Whether it’s browsing modern-age artifacts or perusing midcentury propaganda, visitors exploring Wolfsonian-FIU’s permanent and traveling exhibitions learn about the myriad ways art and design have helped shape the contemporary world. The Art-Deco–era building also houses youth programs and admission is free every Friday from 6 to 9pm.

There’s a lot of history to soak up in South Beach, specifically in the city’s Art Deco district. Start your day in the colorful neighborhood with a stop here and make the most of your visit. The center will send you off armed with maps and suggestions for DIY walking tours.

14.  Rooftop Cinema Club

Miami marks this globally recognized club's ninth location, which includes cinemas in London, New York, Los Angeles and San Diego. Billed as a "social to cinema," the rooftop theater sets out to present more than just flicks. Miami's gorgeous candy-colored sunsets will greet guests (adults only) as they're escorted to their comfy seats (either single Adirondack chairs or loungers) to watch on a giant LED screen. Everyone receives wireless headphones to ensure the sound is crystal clear and the volume is just right.

Part beach club, part nightclub and part lounge, Nikki Beach ticks off all the boxes of what you want in an over-the-top South Beach spot. If you can afford it, book a cabana, order some rosé and see where the night takes you. The brunch/day party is the best place to party on Sunday mornings.

16.  World Erotic Art Museum

The 20-year-old museum explores millennia of sex through classical art, ancient artifacts and a trove of naughty toys. In addition to housing numerous exhibits of erotic art from around the world, WEAM features a sizeable collection of antique penises and Instagram-worthy phalluses in all sizes and states of arousal.

Time Out tip: The new George Daniell Museum is also located in the same building. Known for his portraits of Audrey Hepburn, Sophia Loren and others, the gay American photographer and artist worked for Time and Life magazines.

17.  Lummus Park

This sprawling 74-acre park takes you through some of South Beach's most recognizable territory: along classic Ocean Drive architecture (hello, Versace Mansion), past muscle hunks doing pull-ups on the sand and right up to some prime ocean views. The park contains two outdoor gym areas plus rentals for umbrellas and chairs, bikes and even rollerblades so you can really blend in with the locals.

18.  Jewish Museum of Florida-FIU

The Jewish Museum of Florida tells the story of Miami’s large Hebrew community. You can breeze through this small cultural center spanning two interconnected historic synagogues in less than 30 minutes. The museum’s core exhibit, “MOSAIC: Jewish Life in Florida,” features more than 600 photographs and artifacts that capture the group’s settlement across the peninsula.

19.  Ocean Drive

Bear with us here: Ocean Drive is fun. The touristy strip gets a bad wrap for its overpriced drinks (hello, $65 margarita) and we wouldn’t really advocate eating or drinking at one of the sidewalk cafes (unless it’s an epic drag brunch at Palace Bar , of course). But Ocean Drive is the absolute best place for weird Miami people-watching.

Time Out tip: While you’re there, check out the Versace Mansion, which is now officially called the Villa Casa Casuarina . It’s a luxury hotel with a public restaurant where you can still gawk at the frozen-in-time decadence of the late designer’s home.

We'll meet at the scheduled time at Bayside Marketplace , where you'll board an open-top sightseeing bus to explore Miami by night .

During the tour, you'll be accompanied by an expert guide who will tell you all about  South Beach 's exclusive homes, stores, and restaurants illuminated against the night sky. In this popular Miami neighborhood, we'll also find Ocean Drive , a long avenue boasting beautiful art deco buildings.

We'll continue the route by touring the Downtown Miami district, where you'll get to see the striking lights of the skyscrapers that make up the city's skyline. With the recorded commentary on the bus, you'll also learn just how tall some of these buildings are.

The route then heads to Rickenbacker Causeway . From there we'll make our way to Brickell , Miami's financial district, an area featuring more towering skyscrapers.

Finally, between 1-1.5 hours after the start, the tour will come to an end back at the meeting point.

Sightseeings

One of the most popular tourist cities in South Florida. More than 560 hotels are located along the coast of Fort Lauderdale, that accept more than 10 million (!) Visitors a year. The city got its name in honor of Lieutenant Lauderdale, who led one of the three forts during the war with the Indians. The city was founded just over 100 years ago and started to develop in the 20’s of the last century.

Hollywood, Hallandale, Golden Beach

Hollywood was founded in 1925. Joseph W. Young, the founder of this city, considered it the eastern extension of Hollywood City in California. According to his plan there should have been luxury hotels, Hollywood Boulevard, beaches and golf courts. But the effects of several hurricanes, the death of the founder and the Great Depression lightly changed these plans.

Hallandale was founded in the end of the 19th century. Like many other cities in Florida, it owes its appearance to Henry Flagler, founder of the railway and hotel chains, that helped Florida to receive an unprecedented popularity. Henry hired Holland Luther to find a suitable place for the organization of the settlement, somewhere along the path of the railway. Luther found such place and opened there the first retail outlet. For several decades he has been living in the settlement of only 12 families and the city was developing very slowly. Only in 1927 it was established as an urban settlement with 15,000 residents. Now Hallandale has more than 35,000 inhabitants.

Golden Beach is one of the richest cities on the coast. The cost of most houses is more than a few million dollars. According to some reports here are the houses of Bill Gates and Rick Martin. The greatest fame for this city is the police, where they are as many as there are residents. Their main duty is to control speed level on Collins Avenue, the main street of the city. There is a joke that “a cyclist is again arrested for speeding in Golden Beach “. It is almost true. The speed limit is 35 miles in the city and you can easily get a fine for a couple of hundred dollars if you drive 36 miles per hour.

Sunny Isles

Sunny Isles is famous for its skyscrapers stretching along the coast. Amazing but it is true – the construction of the skyscrapers began not so long ago, in the 2000’s. Up to that moment the same space was occupied by not so high (several floors) cheap motels, that have practically disappeared in the City of Sunny Isles by now. Unfortunately, the Federal Aviation Administration limits the height of the construction of the skyscrapers in Sunny Isles in the vicinity of Opa-Locka Executive Airport, otherwise we would have seen here different heights of the skyscrapers. The tallest building here is Mansions of Aqualina (196 meters high).

Indian Creek

The main point of our tour is Indian Creek Island. It is located on Intracoastal to the south of the Oleta Park. This elite island with 41 private buildings, occupies the 8th place in the United States in terms of income to the inhabitants of the island. They say, that Julio and Enrique Iglesias and many other known businessmen and celebrities own houses on this Island. There is also a huge golf club on the island.

Miami Downtown is the heart and historical center of Miami. The first settlements appeared here in the early 19th century and the main construction started with the active assistance of Henry Flagler and thanks to the construction of the Eastern Railway in 1890. Today Miami Downtown serves about 200,000 people a day (including office workers, whose number increases each year), making it the third downtown in United States daytime population density after New York and Chicago.

The downtown has a unique transport system – Metromover, which includes three routes and 22 stations and it is free of charge. There are more than 70 high-rise buildings (up to 120 meters or 400 feet). The tallest one is the 64-stored Four Seasons Hotel (240 meters or 789 feet). It is likely that this superiority in construction will not last for a long time, as there is already a permission from the FAA for raising of 320-meter building (above 1,000 feet).

The Port of Miami and Fisher Island

The Port of Miami is known throughout the world as “The Capital of World Cruises” and “Freight gates of America.” It’s no wonder, because for 20 years it has been the world’s number one cruise port, serving 4 million people a year. Now the part of loading works took over Port Everglade in Fort Lauderdale that we are also flying over on our route. However, the major cruise companies such as Carnival Breeze, Carnival Ecstasy, Carnival Glory, Carnival Victory, Majesty of the Seas, Norwegian Getaway and Norwegian Sky are still based in the Port of Miami.

Fisher Island is one of the most private islands in the region. For a long time the island belonged only to the family of Vanderbilts, and was a place of thier residence up to the 60’s years. Subsequently, the island was passing from hand to hand (even it was in disposal of former US President Richard Nixon) until it was sold to a group of developers, who began the development of construction on the island. Despite the fact that it is no longer private ownership of the only one family, access to the island is difficult due to the lack of bridges and tunnels (there is only a ferryboat). To get to the island without an invitation of someone of the residents or without someone who lives on this island is very complicated. Fisher Island retains its elitism and accessibility for a narrow circle of persons. According to the latest population census, only 132 people are registered on the island. One curious fact is that the island was formed by the creation of a navigable channel between South Beach and the present Fisher Island  to provide the direct entry to the Port of Miami. This happened in 1905, by the decision of the US government and got the name of Government Cut.

South Beach is a favorite destination for a large number of tourists and locals. It is the largest resort known for its entertainment, hundreds of nightclubs, restaurants, boutiques and hotels. This place is popular among European citizens, who have their properties here. South Beach is multi cultural and multilingual place with numerous of museums and parks. Variety festivals, fashion weeks and music concerts are held on South Beach.
