Nuna Demi Grow Stroller Review

Price $ 949

Echelon $ $ $ $

Is the new Nuna Demi Grow convertible stroller worth the splurge? I’ve spent weeks putting this massive investment to the test to bring you the good, the bad and the ugly so you can make the most informed buying decision. Note : unlike other sites, our Nuna Demi Grow review is NOT sponsored!

nuna demi grow travel system review

If you’ve been eyeing this stroller on looks alone (who hasn’t?), good news: this baby has beauty and brains. It’s an incredibly well-designed piece of equipment, both aesthetically and functionally.

Quick overview: the Demi Grow is the only luxury stroller with a stacked seat design, similar to Phil & Teds and the Britax B-Ready . The stacked seat design shortens the length of the stroller, making it easier to maneuver than its closest competitors, including the Thule Sleek and the UPPABaby Vista ; the “cost” is the loss of the storage basket when used in doubles mode. More on that later.

Overall, we love this stroller and think it may be the best in its class of luxury convertible strollers (with caveats).

We eat with our eyes, right? If so, I’d order this stroller off the menu.

Based on looks alone, the Nuna Demi Grow is a knockout. It’s nothing like the chunky, clunky monstrosities of yesteryear. The Demi Grow is slender, sleek and, dare we say, stylish .

nuna demi grow travel system review

It comes in two standard colorways: caviar (black) and frost (grey). Nordstrom also carries an exclusive model called “ Threaded ” (~ $849), which we also ❤️.

At $899, the single stroller comes with one toddler seat and two sets of car seat adapters that work with all car seats in the Nuna Pipa infant car seat series, as well as the Maxi Cosi car seat — the former of which is a luxury infant seat. The second stroller seat on the Demi Grow rings up at $249. You can also purchase the whole thing as a double here .

If you’re looking at the Demi Grow, chances are you’re also considering the not too distant UPPAbaby Vista convertible stroller (~ $929). In terms of pricing and compatibility, the Vista gets slightly higher marks because it comes with a luxury pram, whereas you have to buy Nuna’s infant bassinet for an additional $249.

Looking at price alone, if you already know you want a bassinet, the Vista is a better deal…. but they are very different strollers.

Stroller Assembly and Configurations

This stroller is so simple to put together, I didn’t even need the instructions; that simplicity is something I can appreciate. Open the stroller, pop on the wheels, click on the seat and you’re good to go.

The Demi Grow can be used as a single, twin or double stroller. There are 23 possible configurations. Twenty-three.

nuna demi grow travel system review

That sounds elaborate and confusing, but it’s actually good news. It means you could get years and years out of this stroller. It also means your kid can be forward or rear facing, on top or bottom, in a car seat, pram or stroller seat. There are endless possibilities that you’ll have years to explore.

The only downside is that the bottom seat cannot be reversed to rear-face.

Stroller Seats

Nuna Demi Grow Stroller Review

The Demi Grow has the Cadillac of stroller seats. They’re cushioned with a padded seat liner that’s great for the colder months and can be removed to expose a more breathable mesh seat for the sweltering months of summer. The seats are also equipped with a padded headrest and padded shoulder straps. So comfy.

New on the 2021 model is a technology called MagneTech Secure Snap, which is essentially a self-guiding magnetic buckle that automatically locks into place. I can see how this would make snapping kids into their seats easier; that said, I can also see how it might also make it easier for kids to unbuckle themselves out of their seats…

nuna demi grow travel system review

You can also recline the seats to a fully flat position with one hand, which is very nice.

demi grow stroller review: recline

These seats have high weight limits; each seat can carry up to 50 lbs of baby meat . On the Uppababy Vista , by comparison, the upper toddler seat can hold up to 50 lbs while the secondary “rumble seat” can only hold up to 35 lbs.

A rain cover is also included with each seat, which is a nice touch.

nuna demi grow travel system review

The canopy is large and comes with an extendable sun shade. It can be unzipped to reveal a mesh fabric that covers nearly every inch of your baby. Nuna calls it the “dream drape”, and it’s the same thing that comes on the Pipa and Pipa Lite infant car seats.

It’s perfect for hot, sunny days and also to keep distractions to a minimum when napping on-the-go. It also has a magnetic mesh peek-a-boo window so you can keep an eye on your little one, and help with airflow.

demi grow stroller review: peek-a-boo

One annoyance to note is that the clamp mechanism that holds the canopy onto the sides of the stroller constantly comes unclamped , but I haven’t heard anyone else with this problem.

The stroller has foam-filled, all-terrain wheels, which were a big help on hikes (yes, we took this stroller hiking with us). The stroller has all-wheel suspension, which means bumpy surfaces are smooth sailing for your littles.

nuna demi grow travel system review

Huge bonus: this stroller rides well over all kinds of terrain. It has a switch near each back tire that you can set depending on the type of the terrain you’re strolling over — i.e. bumpy, uneven ground, smooth roads or sidewalks, etc. This is super innovative and extremely helpful!

The rear tires have fenders and a plexiglass backing on their rims — a safety feature that many other strollers don’t have. It keeps your precious baby’s teeny-tiny fingers safe from pinches while riding in the bottom seat. A thoughtful feature, IMO.

Maneuverability

demi grow stroller review: easy to maneuver

As mentioned earlier, the Demi Grow is a dream to push. Even in doubles mode with both seats attached, this stroller is easy to maneuver on all types of terrain (paved roads, hiking trails, etc.). With the center of gravity so far to the rear, it really pushes like a single.

Unlike other double strollers where the additional seat is attached on the front of the stroller (Thule Sleek, City Select and UPPABaby Vista ), the sibling seat on the Demi Grow is (nearly) stacked under the primary seat, like the Britax B-Ready (see comparison below), which is the absolute best thing about this stroller — and its biggest downfall IMO — but more on that later.

nuna demi grow travel system review

Not only does it make it easier to maneuver and turn, but it also means you can actually see where you’re going. For moms who are particularly short, some of these tandem convertibles are so long, they are difficult to see over.

The Handlebar

nuna demi grow stroller review: handlebar

The attractive cognac brown leatherette handlebar telescopes up and down so parents of any height feel comfortable.

I’ve read complaints that the Demi Grow is not “flip-flop friendly”, but I’ve used this stroller many times wearing slides and had no problem disengaging the brake. You simply step on the brake to engage and step on it again to disengage it. Boom.

The stroller folds quickly and easily, which is pretty rare for a double. Pressing a button on each side collapses the stroller, and it automatically locks into place to prevent rolling or falling open while you’re loading it into your car.

nuna demi grow stroller review: fold

Though you don’t have to remove the second seat to fold the stroller, I (along with many reviewers) think it’s much easier to fold and hoist into your car if you do remove the seat. We have a Subaru Forester and a Lexus GX, and have found this to be true for both cars.

This isn’t unusual for tandem strollers, but it’s still worth mentioning. Also worth mentioning is the ease in which the seats are removed. They glide right off, which means you won’t be caught struggling in the parking lot.

The brand claims that, once folded, the stroller can stand by itself… but I’ve had a hard time making it work. I’ve resorted to leaning it against the wall, which is not ideal.

Storage/Basket

nuna demi grow travel system review

The reason the “stacked” seats are a downfall is that, by placing the second seat under the first, you lose access to your basket.

Bye bye storage.

nuna demi grow stroller review: basket

When the second seat is attached, there’s essentially nowhere to put your diaper bag ; you can’t even clip it onto the handlebar because then it hangs right over the second child’s head. This is basically the same problem with all “stacked” convertibles, such as Phil & Teds and the Britax B-Ready . There is a workaround to this: investing in a stroller handlebar organizer like this one . It’s not quite the same, but… it’s a good option.

nuna demi grow travel system review

Something else to note: the Demi Grow’s storage basket has a 10 lb weight limit, whereas the Vista can hold up to 30 lbs in its basket.

Bottom line: if an easily accessible storage basket while in doubles mode is a must for you, the Vista is a better bet.

No question about it, this stroller is heavy. When used as a single, it’s 27.4 pounds, but remember this heavy weight is normal for convertible strollers. You really can’t compare the weight of the Demi Grow to other “true” single strollers, because it’s apples to oranges. For reference, some single strollers are as light as 13 pounds (like the GB Pockit+).

In doubles mode, the Nuna Demi Grow weighs 35.6 lbs, which is on par with other doubles/convertibles of its size. For comparison’s sake, the UPPAbaby Vista is 32.8 lbs, the Thule Sleek is 35, and a double Bob is 33 lbs. Yes, it’s definitely on the heavier side of that range.

The Nuna Demi Grow comes with a two year warranty. It’s nice to have that added peace of mind.

Nuna Demi Grow Stroller Review: Bottom Line

There are several strollers out there with this stacked “in-line” design, but this is the only one in the “luxury” realm. The fit and finish of this stroller, like with most Nuna products, is top notch.

The stacked design gives you the steerage and maneuverability of a single stroller, at the cost of under-basket storage (when in doubles mode). Also, the lower (2nd) child can’t rear-face and may feel a bit more crammed in, though we’ve noticed that younger/smaller children (under 3) don’t have this issue.

All in all, we believe the good qualities outweigh the bad, especially for moms or caregivers on the shorter side, for those whose kids are further apart in age, and for those who maneuverability is of utmost importance (for example, people who lives in the hills and/or need to pop the stroller up onto curbs with some frequency).

We hope this review helped you make a decision. Cheers!

Nuna Demi Grow Stroller Review

There are not too many good, quality convertible strollers out there. That’s why I was really curious if the Nuna Demi Grow might be a preferred choice. For sure, the design team had quite a challenge to build a stroller that may be converted from a single to a double .

This stroller is quite alike the UPPAbaby Vista when you look at it and has a lot of common features , so I will mention it a few times for sure in this review. The review won’t be short, but I’m sure it’s worth spending some time reading it as the Nuna Demi Grow is packed with features I just have to cover.

Nuna Demi Grow Stroller

Reminds UPPAbaby Vista, but packs a lot more features

The Nuna Demi Grow is a classy, modern-looking stroller promising to grow and suit the needs of a growing family . It’s suitable for twins or siblings. You can attach two full-sized seats, bassinets or two baby car seats . The maximum weight for each seat is set at 50 lbs.

The canopy is impressive, really big and comfy . It has a pull out drape and a sunvisor. The recline is one-handed and you can make it fully flat, so it will fit a newborn. There’s a nice feature I really like, a zip off seat liner, exposing a mesh seat, so it will be perfect for summer.

What are the main strong points of the Nuna Demi Grow? The leg rest is adjustable , same goes for the handle bar, it will stand folded, it has a swing away bumper bar and its storage capabilities are really great thanks to a big basket, so you can take anything you need for a ride . The wheels are foam-filled and the all-wheel suspension provides a great, smooth ride. What are the weak points of the Nuna Demi Grow? Well, it isn’t too light, 28.5lbs. The folding process requires you to take off the second seat, but it would be surprising to see it would fold with two seats. Maybe I’m picky, but the brake will be rather hard to use with flip-flops, but that’s not really a biggie and all Nuna strollers are made like that.

Nuna Demi Grow Stroller

Great basket is just one of many strong points of the Nuna Demi Grow

Nuna Demi Grow Features

Huge canopy.

This is also a common thing in the Nuna strollers. The canopy is expandable , UPF50+ with two big panels and a sunvisor that may be popped out and a DreamDrape (which in fact is one more sunvisor), so your kid will be fully protected from the sun.

The viewing window made with dark mesh found on the top of it provides a great air circulation during the hot summer days , but still keeps your little one protected from the sun. The Nuna Demi Grow, like many other luxury strollers, uses a silent, magnetic closure (unlike many other strollers that have a noisy velcro closure that may wake up your toddler). The stich work is double quilted and covers the canopy’s inside, giving it a great, impressive look. I’ve seen many strollers and canopies. I’m absolutely sure this one is just top of the tops.

Nuna Demi Grow Canopy

Great air circulation and just the highest quality – you can tell it’s the top shelf

Adjustable handle bar

The handlebar has a nice feel thanks to the leatherette covering and may be set in one of three positions from 38’’ to 42’’ above the ground. The feel of the handlebar is really outstanding as it’s not covered with rubber , but hand-sewn leather. I may sound a bit repetitive, but you will surely love it, I guarantee. Adjusting the handle bar will require you to use both hands, but it’s not a big thing, as you won’t be changing it’s position every day.

Nuna Demi Grow Adjustable Handle Bar

Great looking and practical at the same time – leather-covered handlebar

Reversible seat

The size of the seat comes as follows: 12’’ width. 20’’ seat back and 22’’ from the seat’s back to the canopy’s top. The seat may be reversed and set into one of three positions with one hand , very comfy. The Nuna Demi Grow has a “true flat recline” so it may be used from day one. The recline positions are the same when your kid is facing the world or you. Actually, that gives an overall of six great options to choose from.

You should remember that the seat is v-shaped, so the little one will not lay fully flat even if the seat is fully recline. I’d prefer to see it that way, but the Nuna Demi Grow is not an exception among other luxury strollers on the market as they usually come like this.

Reversing the seat is just super easy and requires pushing the buttons found on the sides, swinging the seat around and popping it back in. Now you have your kid facing you. Really fast, easy and convenient. The seat is designed for a kid from day one until 50 lbs. Naturally, you should rather get the infant insert in you want to put your newborn in to the seat to give it some additional support.

Nuna Demi Grow Reversible Seat

Reverse the seat easily, depending on the situation

Removable seat liner

Fantastic feature I really love. You won’t find it in Vista. A removable seat liner. Unzipping it exposes a mesh seat that provides great ventilation so your little one won’t overheat during hot summer days. Parents living in places with high average temperature or the ones who like to travel to such places will especially like it. Another good thing about it is the fact that there’s still good back support being provided by the mesh seat.

Nuna Demi Grow Removable Seat Liner

Great air ventilation provides comfort for your kid during hot summer days

5-point harness

The padded harness is adjustable and you can convert it to a 3-point one when your kid grows up.

Interested in purchasing Nuna Demi Grow? Check how much it costs and see if there are any discounts available.

Luxurious as the handlebar, covered with the same great leather as the handlebar. The swing-away bumper bar may be easily removed.

Nuna Demi Grow Harness

Bumper bar is also covered with the same great leather as the handlebar

Double mode

The Nuna Demi Grow maybe be converted into a double stroller from a single one when you add a second seat to the frame’s back. It has an impressive number of possible configurations – 23! You can attach two baby car seats, two kid seats or two bassinets in any combination. Easy to do and very useful, the Nuna Demi Grow stands for its name and the promise to grow with your family.

There are no downsides or limitations for the second seat. It’s just the same as the first one, having the same features – hude canopy, the recline, a leg rest that may be adjusted and a swing-away bumper bar (covered with leather). The second seat is put into the basket, giving your second toddler a lounge position. The footprint remains the same even with the second seat attached, so the Nuna Demi Grow is really easy to maneuver even in places like a crowded mall. Great feature.

Converting the Nuna Demi Grow requires a small compromise – you lose the basket and there’s less space for legs. Not for the kid, but for you. That may be a bit problematic for parents who are above average height.

Nuna Demi Grow Double

23 seating configurations – allows you to set the Nuna Demi Grow anyway you like

Adjustable leg rest

The leg rest may be easily adjusted with one hand . It’s not really a necessity when your kid is a bit older, but it’s a really good feature for a little toddler.

Nuna Demi Grow Leg Rest

Adjustable leg rest will be useful when your little one becomes not-so-little anymore

Parking brake

The brake is located near the right wheels. It’s really easy to use, except if you’re wearing flip-flops.

Nuna Demi Grow seems to be the right choice, but a little bit pricy? There may be a discount available, click here to check!

Spacious basket

The basket is enormous.  There’s nothing it won’t accommodate (of course, don’t try to put in an elephant) and all the things you put in there are really easily accessible . Just mind the fact you won’t have it, when you convert the Nuna Demi Grow into a double.

If you’d like to carry even more stuff with you, this stroller organizer will surely help you. It will easily fit your phone, keys, wallet, toys for your toddler or even a diaper bag. It’s really useful and you’ve got all your things easily accessible.

Nuna Demi Grow Storage Basket

Simply HUGE storage basket to fit all your necessary stuff

All-terrain wheels

The wheels are made of hard rubber filled with foam, 7’’ front and 10’’ back. Thanks to this you don’t have to worry about getting a flat, but still enjoy the benefits air-filled have. Plus, there’s no need to carry the air pump with you. The front swivel wheels may be locked straight.

The Nuna Demi Grow will easily handle almost any kind of terrain including gravel, grass or uneven sidewalk. Many other all-terrain strollers have the air-filled wheels, but I assure you, the Demi Grow isn’t any worse with its foam-filled wheels. It’s easy to maneuver using just one hand.

Nuna Demi Grow Wheels

All-terrain Nuna Demi Grow is easy to push with one hand

Included wheel fenders

If you switch the Nuna Demi Grow into a double, the second seat has to go the stroller’s back and your kid could get dirty or even hurt, because the rear wheels are in his reach. The Nuna comes with included wheel fenders, protecting your toddler and keeping him clean.

All-wheel suspension

The suspension is all-wheel with the possibility to adjust the suspension of the rear wheels. Works great, absorbs bumps and provides a smooth ride.

Are you thinking about buying a Nuna Demi Grow? Check how much it currently costs , maybe you can find an attractive discount.

The folding process is easy, but a bit tricky when the stroller is converted to a double, as the second seat needs to be removed before folding. The Nuna Demi Grow takes quite a lot of place when folded, but there are some nice features to compensate this. It stands folded and has an auto lock. The beautiful leather handlebar is protected from scratches by a plastic cover. One more thing worth mentioning is the handle placed in the back, making carrying the Nuna Demi Grow around much easier . Nicely thought.

Nuna Demi Grow Folding And Unfolding

Not the smalles one when folded, but easy to carry around thanks to the handle on the back

Included car seat adapters

Thumbs up! The Nuna Demi Grow comes with a really impressive number of accessories included, so you won’t have to spend extra bucks to get all the features you want. You get two baby car seat adapters , so you can easily attach the Nuna PIPA seat. There’s no difference between the adapters for the first and the second seat, so you don’t have to worry about mixing them up. There’s another type of adapter available – ‘ring adapter’. The only difference between this one and the included ones is the fact that the ring adapter is one piece, so it takes less time to attach the seat. In my opinion there’s no need to get it as the included ones do their job just fine.

Nuna Demi Grow Car Seat Adapter

Included baby car seat adapters are a great added value

Travel system

The Nuna Demi Grow may be easily converted to a travel system if you replace the seat with the Nuna PIPA. Make sure to pick the same color, so the stroller could keep its classy look. It is also compatible with the Maxi Cosi seats.

You just have to adore this bassinet. It’s surely one of my favorites. Why? It’s really highly practical and looks just outstanding, and the handle is also covered with beautiful leather on top. Connecting the bassinet doesn’t require using any kind of adapters and it is very easy to do. The UPF 50+ canopy is very spacy. It has a sunvisor that may be popped out and also the ‘dream drape’ so your kid is fully protected from sun when needed. The canopy has a mesh which is hidden, providing fantastic ventilation. There’s a nice surprise at its end – easily accessible storage pocket for your keys, wallet and some other small things. The cover and the liner may be washed in a machine. The bassinet is easily foldable flat when you don’t need it.

Nuna Demi Grow Stroller Bassinet

One of the best bassinets ever – stunning look and easy to wash

As I already wrote – lovely! The Nuna Demi Grow has a bassinet that may be used from day one to 6 month. The mattress is made with top-quality materials, providing perfect position for the newborn . The bassinet is equipped with a nice handle, making carrying the little one around much easier.

Before you decide to buy Nuna Demi Grow, check if there are any discounts available.

Nuna Demi Grow Bassinet

The Nuna Demi Grow may be used for a newborn

Another accessory that comes included. The cover will come in handy when you get caught by rain during a ride with your little one.

Nuna Demi Grow Rain Cover

No need to be afraid of the rain

The canopy is just huge! Very comfy, very spacy and it has this classy look. It comes with a pop-out sunvisor , covering your little one nicely. There’s a mesh viewing window too, providing extra air circulation during summer.

Nuna Demi Grow Huge Canopy

Classy look and great air circulation

Once again we head to accessories. This time it’s the brilliant DreamDrape which provides your little one some extra privacy and additional protection during a nap. Once again hats off, the Nuna Demi Grow comes with it included! You can find it hidden in the canopy.

So if you’re riding around with your little one and he looks like taking a nap, pull out the Dream Drape from the canopy. Fast and easy! Apart from providing undisturbed nap, the DreamDrape also protects from the sun and wind, but doesn’t reduce ventilation. Fantastic!

Nuna Demi Grow Peekaboo Window

The DreamDrape gives your kid extra privacy and protection during a nap

Seating options

This is how a real all-in-one stroller should look like. The Nuna Demi Grow has an outstanding number of seat configurations. You can set it in one of 23 ways – attach any combination of two bassinets, two kid seats, two baby car seats (as the Nuna PIPA adapters come included with the stroller), so I don’t think there’s a situation the Nuna Demi Grow couldn’t handle. Thanks to this, this stroller is actually a great long-term investment that will serve you for years.

Nuna Demi Grow Seating Options

Breathtaking possibilites of configuration

Toddler seat

The Nuna Demi Grow’s seat is suitable for a kid 6+ months old. The seat has a three position recline, from upright to flat. The leg rest is easily adjustable, same as the recline – you can change the setting of both easily with just one hand.

The seat may be reversed, depending if you want to keep an eye on your kid all the time, especially when he’s younger or face the world when you’re strolling and every mom knows how curious kids are. The process is really simple and fast.

The seat features a rotable and removable bumper bar, making it easy to put the kid in and out. It also has a very easily adjustable 5-point harness to fit your kid all the way as he grows up.

Nuna Demi Grow Toddler

Wait until they start to fight for the upper seat… 🙂

The seat is really great both in terms of its looks and the usability too. The seat is suitable for any weather, because you can detach the padding. The mesh parts, found below the padding will be great during the summer, providing sun protection while retaining good air circulation.

If you want to use your Nuna Demi Grow for two kids, you need to get a second seat (sold separately). What’s good about it is the fact it is just identical as the first seat (unlike the UPPAbaby Vista Rumble seat which is smaller than th first one) and capable of accomodating a kid up to 50 lbs. Once again a few bucks will stay in your pocket, you don’t need to get any additional adapters.

Nuna Demi Grow Seat

The seat looks great and handles any type of weather

Baby car seat

The Nuna Demi grow may be converted into a travel system (for one or two kids). As I’ve mentioned before, the car seat adapters for the Nuna PIPA are included with the stroller. There are two sets included, so you’ll only need to buy the car seats seperately. The Nuna Demi Grow is also compatible with Maxi Cosi baby car seats.

Nuna Demi Grow Car Seat

Easily convertible to a travel system thanks to the included adapters

Suspension & Wheels

The Nuna Demi Grow rolls on 4 hard rubber wheels filled with durable foam. This way you get both the benefits of the air-filled wheels on any kind of terrain and the practicality of fully rubber ones. You don’t need to worry about getting a flat or carrying the pump with you, while your toddler can still enjoy a great, smooth ride.

The maneuverability of the Nuna Demi Grow is absolutely amazing. Front pivoting wheels make it very easy to maneuver in tight, crowdy spaces. They also have the locking option, which will be great for harder kinds of terrain.

The size of the wheels is also just perfect, no need to worry about getting stuck on any kind of terrain. The rear wheels come with fenders included, so your kid is protected: both from touching the wheels and getting hurt and getting dirty when you go over muddy terrain or gravel. The fenders also protect you and the stroller itself. Keep it clean, stupid!

The suspension works like a charm and makes the ride very smooth. It is a custom dual suspension that guarantees your toddler’s nap won’t be interrupted when you run over some bumps. Pushing and pulling the Nuna Demi Grow is very easy and doesn’t get really harder when converted to a double.

Nuna Demi Grow Suspension

Great maneuverability and superb suspension – could you wish more?

Size, Weight and Folding

As any expandable or double stroller, the Nuna Demi Grow is not really small or light. That’s not a bad thing, it needs to be robust and strong to accommodate two kids! The Nuna Demi grow weighs 27.4 lbs when single, a little more with the second seat attached – still, that’s a good result considering this one is a double.

The size of the frame is the same when single or double and it’s not the smallest one when compared with single strollers, but it’s quite compact for a double. It’s smaller than most tandem strollers, not mentioning side-by-side ones!

Folding the Nuna Demi Grow takes just seconds. I love the folding process. I think this should be an industry standard, it is outstanding. How does it work? You just lift two toggles found on the sides on the handlebar. That’s it. The stroller collapses and stands on its own! It’s so easy when compared to folding many other strollers out there. It also gets locked automatically so it won’t get opened by an accident when you transport it. I almost forgot – there’s a nice handle to carry the stroller around when folded.

As I’ve wrote, the Nuna Demi Grow is not the smallest stroller you may find, but rest assured – fitting it into you car’s trunk won’t be a problem.

Nuna Demi Grow Folded

Super-easy to fold and doesn’t take much space

Nuna Demi Grow vs Bugaboo Fox

Many people compare these two strollers, because they have a lot in common, e.g. reversible seat, adjustable handlebar. There are also visual similarities. The functionality of both strollers is practically the same – both are highly rated by their users. The thing is, the price makes a big difference. Bugaboo Fox is more expensive, much more expensive. Althought the Bugaboo adds the bassinet in price to their stroller, but even if we buy similar one for Nuna Demi Grow, the latter comes out cheaper.

Quality & Materials

Well… you have to love it. There’s no other way. The leatherette handlebar, leatherette bumper car and top-quality materials make the Nuna Demi Grow both amazing look and feel and give you a guarantee this stroller will last. As an extra you will surely get a lot of jealous looks on the street.

Wondering whether to choose Nuna Demi Grow? If you’ve read my review, you certainly have a reference. Check how much it currently costs.

Awesome that it works with maxi cosi as well, I wonder would this also mean cybex and clek work with it? As they all technically have the same adaptors for every other stroller brand. I’m looking into the Demi grow car seat but don’t like the Canadian version of the nuna pipa so I want a clek

Lindsey Mitchell

Helo Natasha! In my opinion it should be compatible with with Cybex & Clek car seats.

Kate Ross

Hello, would this pram be safe to take running/ jogging?

Hello Kate! No, this stroller isn’t designed for running. Actually, Nuna does not make jogging strollers at this time. You should check out my list of the best jogging strollers instead.

How easy is the Nuna Demi Grow to assemble?

As a tandem-style travel system, it’s not quite as simple as just clicking the wheels on. There are a number of pieces in the Demi Grow box, but straightforward instructions make it an easier task than expected. The booklet includes pictures and a detailed checklist to take you through the process, which involves putting on the back wheels and wheel fenders, assembling the seat and clicking it onto the chassis.

The sibling seat comes separately, but was equally simple to put together. All in all, the set-up took ten minutes and required no tools.

The Demi Grow buggy itself is covered with a two-year warranty, and its accessories with a one-year warranty, which is generous in comparison with many others on the market (like, say, the Mountain Buggy Nano Duo ). There are product manuals online, though Nuna doesn’t seem to offer a paid-for repair service.

How does it look?

Immediately, the Demi Grow looks like a beautiful buggy – classy and modern, with a number of thoughtful design touches that combine to make it feel like a luxury product. The seat material is thick and lavishly padded, and comes in three elegant colours: black, grey and a muted blue.

What’s it like to use the Nuna Demi Grow?

There are lots of reasons why you might prefer a tandem pushchair to a side-by-side design, such as manoeuvrability and width (tandem buggies tend to be the width of a single pushchair) and the Demi Grow exemplifies many of them to perfection. Flexible and inclusive, it’s a buggy that tries to cater to a family’s every need – often with great success.

Our tester found it easier to fold and store the pushchair with the seats off (although you can keep the main seat on if you wish); to remove the seats, press the lever on the side and just lift away.

Folding and unfolding both need two hands but neither process is complicated – you lift the clips either side and fold as one piece. Once folded, the Demi Grow is freestanding, so can be stored in a corner, but less compactly, of course, than a side-by-side design with no additional seats.

The chassis was stored in the tester's porch, while the seats were propped up against the wall in the hallway and did take up a bit of space.

And what about day-to-day life?

Like a side-by-side buggy, a tandem buggy comes with its own pros and cons. As a tandem, the Demi Grow is heavier to push than a side-by-side, but the position of the lower seat between the back wheels means that the weight distribution is well-balanced; this combined with large, foam-filled wheels and rear suspension make it an easy buggy to manoeuvre and control.

It performs best of all on pavements, but deals fairly well with bumpy ground too, and the size of those back wheels means it pops over kerbs without you straining a muscle. The tucked-away lower seat also means that, should your toddler want to walk, you won’t feel that the unused seat is in the way.

Because the assembly includes clipping in extra seats, it’s wise to build in a little time when setting off for the school run. Still, the intuitive design means that attaching those seats is straightforward, and the narrow width of the chassis – 62cm – means you may well be able to leave it set up in the hallway anyway.

As the Demi Grow is the same width as a single pushchair, you shouldn’t have any problems getting it in and out of shops or squeezing it onto the bus or train.

In the car boot, it’s a little bulky, and it’s not the lightest either (Nuna list the weight as 12.9kgs, but this – rather disingenuously – is without the second seat, bumper bar, sun hood or seat lining). Our tester found it easier to fit it into the car boot in several pieces, but did keep it in there with other items without much difficulty or inconvenience.

What is the seat like?

When the chassis is unfolded, there are lots of seating options, detailed in the instruction manual and on Nuna’s website. The buggy chassis comes with the main seat, and also included are two sets of car seat adaptors, and a set of seat/carrycot adaptors (many competitors make these an additional cost).

A car seat or a carrycot – sold separately for £170 and £200, respectively – can be placed in the upper or lower position to accommodate a baby; when in the upper position, any of the seating options can be forward- or parent-facing.

Once your second child is six months old, the sibling seat comes into play: it’s an additional purchase (also £200), but is the same size and quality as the main seat, so neither child is liable to be squashed. No matter where and how your two children like to sit, there’s bound to be a combination that works for everyone.

The seats themselves feel exceptionally well made – thickly padded, with a three-step lever reclining mechanism (two-step in the lower position) and an adjustable calf support. The seat liner can be unzipped and completely removed, leaving a durable mesh-lined seat behind – ideal for preventing overheating in hot weather.

The headrest and straps can be quickly adjusted, and the generous five-point harness is comfortable, padded and secure.

And the features?

The hoods exceed expectations too. They’re made from UV material with a good visor, and have a peek-a-boo window secured with magnets instead of velcro, so they can be opened without that nap-ruining rip.

Best of all, open a zip at the front and you’ll find a sun-protective ‘dream drape’ to hang over the seat in hot weather. It’s a thoughtful touch that was unique among the double buggies we tested.

The good design doesn’t stop there. Decent rain covers for each seat are included in the box, as are high-quality footmuffs, which are cosy in cold weather.

Is there much storage?

The storage basket is huge – though, of course, with the sibling seat attached, the second child has their legs in the basket and takes up much of the space, so you’ll be putting in the shopping around them.

If you’re using the buggy in single mode, however, it comes with a removable shopping bag that fits into the storage basket, meaning you can take it all out in one go – a sanity-saving addition our tester really appreciated.

Is the Nuna Demi Grow safe?

Those few extra kilograms of weight come into their own, here: the Demi Grow feels solid and sturdy, and it didn’t topple at all during our test with heavy shopping bags with and without children in the seat.

The seats are large and wonderfully padded – our tester’s children didn’t want to get out of them – and both a toddler and a baby were secured in comfort in the various configurations.

The five-point harness is designed so that the shoulder straps clip into the side straps before going into the central clip. They’re easy to adjust and sit snugly on the shoulders when secured. There are high-quality bumper bars included with each seat, which lift on one side to take the child out.

The handle has a leatherette finish, which is easy to grip and feels comfortable on the hand, and it’s extendable using buttons on the side. And the lower seat is positioned so that you can walk with a normal stride without kicking it – a godsend for those of us with creaky back muscles.

Speaking of that lower seat, parents often worry that a toddler sitting by the back wheels will poke their fingers into the spokes and hurt themselves, but there’s no danger of that here. The Demi Grow comes with wheel fenders to protect any tiny explorers, for added peace of mind.

Finally, the brake is a foot lever design that is flicked up to release and pressed down to secure. Our tester found it a little stiff in practice, but it kept the buggy firmly in place when applied.

How easy is it to clean?

The Demi Grow seats have been designed to unzip easily, and they’re machine washable. In our test, following a variety of spillages (juice etc) they came out excellently, without fading or shrinking.

By the end of the testing process the wheels were a little worn and muddy, as we’d expect – but everything was intact and the buggy still looked almost new.

Final verdict?

The Nuna Demi Grow has only been around for about a year (it’s also Nuna’s first ever double buggy), but on this evidence we reckon it’s here to stay – it’s a beautiful, cleverly-designed pushchair that offers real flexibility without being quite as expensive as its iCandy and Bugaboo rivals at the luxury end of the market.

With so many extras included in the box, and such high-quality materials used throughout, it represents good value for money – would have been better if a carrycot was included as standard, though – for a buggy that should run right through to babyhood and beyond.

Nuna Demi Grow Stroller Review | 2021

nuna demi grow travel system review

The Nuna Demi Grow is Ready for Your Growing Family

Nuna is a well-established, leading brand in the premium baby products industry. Parents love the ease of use and functionality of their strollers. The Nuna Demi Grow continues with this tradition!

The luxe luggage leatherette adds richness to an already stylish stroller. With that said, you’d be happy to know; the leatherette can withstand chemical cleaners. During COVID-19, I can’t tell you how many times I’ve wiped down the handlebar. I always feared the leatherette would begin to fade or deteriorate, but the leatherette looks brand new!

Additionally, with approximately 5.5-inches of height adjustability, the handlebar should suit every user.

Steering, Suspension, and Wheels

Nuna’s Custom dual suspension™, foam-filled wheels, and fluid swiveling front wheels work in unison to provide an ultra-smooth ride. Equally important are the locking front wheels that assist you when you encounter rough terrain and thick grass.

Unlike the side-by-side double stroller counterpart, which tends to be tough to steer, the Demi Grow is an in-line double stroller, but much better! In-line strollers are much easier to drive, plus having the sibling seat over the rear axle – keeps the mass centered over all four wheels (vertical seating) that also contribute to superior maneuverability.

Seating and Safety Harness

Whether you require a child seat, an infant car seat, a bassinet, or a sibling seat – you name it, the Nuna Demi Grow has it! Furthermore, if you have twins or two children of different ages, you guessed it, Nuna also has that covered for you!

Nuna has thought of it all with their seats. The number of features for the seats alone will make your head spin. As for ease of use, the three-position reclining seatback; and adjustable calf support are one-handed. Plus, for the warmer months of the year, the inlay of the all-season seat can be unzipped to expose the mesh backing. Additionally, the removable and rotating bumper bar – makes it convenient for getting your child in and out of the stroller.

The Nuna Demi Grow has 23 modes; yes, you read that correctly – 23! From a single to a double, or for twins, this is the can-do everything stroller.

As for the safety harness, Nuna uses its MagneTech Secure Snap™ technology. The ingenious buckling system uses magnets to self-guide the clips into the locking hub. And, a word of caution, if your child has any medical devices, contact Nuna for an alternative solution . Lastly, the safety harness is a three and five-point; although, we suggest always using it has a five-point for safety reasons.

nuna demi grow child seat

The Nuna Demi Grow has an extra-large under-seat storage basket. However, once the sibling seat is in use, the storage space instantly disappears. Not only that, there isn’t a pocket on the backside of the child seat often found on strollers. Therefore, in the double stroller configuration, parents will have to hand carry their children’s essentials. It becomes doubly difficult when you have two children.

The canopy on the Demi Grow alone is the definition of versatility! Firstly, it uses a UPF 50+ fabric – protecting your children from harmful UV rays. Secondly, it has the option to be removed if you so choose. Thirdly, it’s extendable, has a flip-out eyeshade, and a Dream Drape™ – it combines to add extra sun protection and a dark environment for sleeping. Fourthly, the peek-a-boo window serves as a way to keep tabs on your child and as a ventilation panel. And finally, the fabric has the look and feel of luxury!

The Nuna Demi Grow does not fold as quickly as other Nuna strollers. However, it only takes a few more steps, and it only adds a couple more seconds to the process. There are times; videos paint a better picture than words. The above video demonstrates how easily the stroller folds.

Additionally, the Demi Grow is self-standing. I understand it’s not a make-or-break feature, but it’s a nice feature to have.

Travel System

If there ever was a double stroller that screamed a travel system, the Nuna Demi Grow is it! Whether you require two infant car seats or just one, this is the ideal travel system. And, any of the PIPA™ series car seats are a perfect match for the Demi Grow stroller!

Accessories

Nuna strollers are stunning and wonderful, but the accessories available are less than impressive. The most glaring accessories that are absent are the child/snack tray and parent organizer. Nonetheless, below are the accessories available for the Nuna Demi Grow:

  • Sibling seat
  • Ring adapter
  • Wheeled travel bag

demi grow cupholder

It depends on your current and future needs. If you currently only have one child but plan to grow your family, we recommend starting with the Demi Grow stroller. Everything else is available when the second bundle of joy arrives. On the other hand, if you have twins on the way, we recommend one of the double stroller bundles.

  • A ring seat adapter
  • Car seat adapters

Yes, you can spot clean little messes with a mild cleaning solution. Refer to the care instruction labels for washing and drying instructions.

What Parents Have to Say

nuna demi grow travel system review

Final Words

I might be a little biased, but I love Nuna strollers! I love the black frames, the highly functional design, and the overall appearance. It’s the best of style and comfort!

Finally, as Nuna’s slogan says, “Be ready for tomorrow.” And with the Demi Grow, they mean it. This stroller will adapt to your family versus the other way around.

Nuna DEMI Grow Convertible Stroller Review (2024)

The Nuna brand goes by the mantra, ‘Simple. Practical. Stylish.’ and I dare say they lived up to that and more with the Nuna Demi Grow. Whether you are on a quick errand run to the mall or on a vacation out in the woods, this stroller has the mettle for it. Think SUV without the fuel costs.

My highlight features of the Nuna Demi Grow stroller are its high functionality, great quality build, and its thoughtful features. Moreover, in my opinion, when pitted against similar strollers in the market like the Britax B-Ready its features remain superior.

The Nuna brand is originally from Amsterdam but has grown to be a global brand. I appreciate this because it makes it easy to recommend this stroller to friends and family abroad. The Nuna Demi Grow package contains:

  • The Nuna Demi Grow stroller
  • A rain cover
  • Adapters for compatible Nuna car seats
  • A ring adapter

In this Nuna Demi Grow review, we explore the ups, downs, and in-betweens of this luxury stroller . Here is a brief overview of more to come.

Nuna DEMI Grow Review Summary

Frequently asked questions when considering the nuna demi grow, weight limits, maneuverability, recline options, safety features, stroller seat configurations, car seat adapters and compatibility, comfort features, adjustable leg rest, storage capacity, foldability, thule sleek stroller, uppababy vista v2 stroller, britax b-ready g3 stroller.

Nuna DEMI Grow Convertible Stroller Review | Baby Journey

  • Great for all terrains
  • Easy to steer and maneuver
  • Comfortable well-padded seat
  • 23 different configurations of use
  • Great sun protection canopy
  • Using the secondary seat leaves no room for storage
  • Can be unstable when folded for storage

In the beginning, it is easy to handle your baby and haul at least one bag of groceries. However, that does not last very long, since they get heavier overnight and this is why a good stroller like the Nuna Demi Grow is a Godsend.

Here are some informative commonly asked questions.

Is it effective as a twin mode stroller?

Yes, it is. Its build is sturdy enough to handle the weight of both babies. It does not lose balance and its stacked design makes it easier to steer in twin mode than longer strollers.

Is the Nuna Demi Grow ideal for all parents?

I would recommend it to anyone looking for a good quality reliable stroller. However, it is a bit pricey and some parts like the second stroller seat come at an added cost.

If you are shopping on a budget the Britax B-Ready might be worth considering but I must say, it does not offer as many features.

Is the Nuna Demi Grow better than the UPPAbaby Vista Convertible stroller?

The quality and performance of the Nuna double stroller are better than that of the UPPABaby Vista . The advantage of the UPPABaby is perhaps that it comes with a pram and is about $80 cheaper.

Which car seats are compatible with the Nuna Demi Grow?

The Nuna Demi Grow stroller is arguably the best stroller for Nuna Pipa and Pipa Lite car seats. They do, however, require adapters to pair but those come with the stroller. These adapters are also compatible with the Maxi Cosi Mico Max car seats.

Can you jog with Nuna Demi Grow?

Caveat; it is not particularly marketed as a jogger stroller . However, its general build is resilient enough for a jog or two with the right precautions .

The Features of Nuna Demi Grow

The truth of a stroller is in the push. Does it stick or does it glide? Is it heavy or manageable? How cozy will your baby be in this stroller ? There is only one way to find out, let’s do a deep-dive into its features.

The Demi Grow stroller has a weight limit of 50 pounds for both the upper stroller seat and the bottom one. If you are reading this from across the pond, that’s about 22 kilograms, which by any measure is quite generous.

Better still, the performance of the stroller does not waiver even at full weight. Its motion remains smooth.

The stacked design of this expandable stroller makes it compact and easy to steer. Its structure is also quite balanced such that even under the combined weight of 100 pounds you will not experience too much resistance when pushing it.

This is also made much easier by its ergonomic, adjustable handlebar. I am not exactly the tallest mom in the class so I like that the bar can be set to positions that are comfortable for various heights.

On braking, there is a pedal next to the right rear wheel that you step on once to halt the stroller and step on it again to continue moving. It is quite straightforward once you use it a couple of times.

As you check for the brake pedal, you may notice an adjustment gear near the rear wheels too. It is meant to help you set the right mode for the wheels depending on the type of terrain you are using the stroller in. See? I wasn’t wrong when I said this was an SUV-like stroller.

The Demi Grow upper stroller seat can be reclined between 3 positions. It can also be reversed such that your baby faces you during rides. I find this helpful for when your baby is napping or you are in a high traffic venue that can be upsetting for them.

The bottom stroller seat, on the other hand, is preferable for a sleeping baby as it is not fully adjustable to an upright position. It is also not reversible. Nonetheless, all seat adjustments are effortless thanks to the one-hand button push.

You can recline the seats in 3 different positions on the Nuna DEMI Grow. - Nuna DEMI Grow Convertible Stroller Review | Baby Journey

The stroller seat of this Nuna convertible stroller has a 5-point harness with a height-adjustable buckle system. As your baby grows you would gradually adjust through the various settings provided to ensure that they are comfortable and well-secured. The padded harness is certainly a plus too.

Additionally, each Nuna stroller seat comes with a bumper bar. If you have an adventurous toddler that believes they can hop off the ride like Batman off a building, this will be the saving grace that keeps them on board. The bar is lined with leather and can be removed if necessary.

The Nuna Demi Grow stroller can be set in 23 different configurations. At first read, that sounds like a lot. However, as a mom to a toddler, I would like to state for the record that the more options you have, the better.

Children are dynamic little beings. One day they might be calm while front-facing and the next, they are constantly fussy if they can’t see you all through the ride. It is nice to have options to accommodate your little boss’s needs.

Consider as well, that your needs as a parent may change over time. In the beginning, you may have only one baby but further down the line, you might have two. Being able to have a bassinet and a toddler seat on the same stroller makes it worth the price of admission for me.

It is equally worth mentioning that switching between configurations is easy and will not take up much of your time.

The Nuna Demi Grow can easily be configured with different add-ons.- Nuna DEMI Grow Convertible Stroller Review | Baby Journey

As you unbox this Nuna twin stroller, you will notice that it comes with two identical adapters. One set is for the upper seat while the other is for the lower one. These are, nevertheless, only applicable for Nuna Pipa and Pipa Lite infant car seats.

For other brands, you may need to source different adapters. There is also a ring adapter that pretty much does the same thing but might be easier to use.

To be able to pair this convertible stroller with the DEMI bassinet you will need to order bassinet adapters. They are not included in the package.

You can pair the DEMI bassinet with the Nuna DEMI Grow stroller but you’ll need to get the adapters separately.- Nuna DEMI Grow Convertible Stroller Review | Baby Journey

The 4 wheels of the Nuna Demi Grow are foam-filled and have customizable dual suspension. That sounds a little like something out of a car commercial so let’s demystify it.

In better terms, the foam-filled tires are sturdier and can navigate all terrains without letting you down. I find that they require less maintenance than air-filled tires which can sometimes abruptly lose pressure.

The dual suspension is for balance; it ensures that the weight of your babies is distributed between the tires at the back and the front so that the stroller moves with ease. This suspension system also makes riding in the seat more comfortable as your baby would not have to get rocked by every bump or dip.

The back tires are also covered by fenders. They prevent gravel and other debris displaced by the tires during motion from hitting the lower seat passenger. You would also not have to worry about their fingers getting caught in between the tires.

Nuna DEMI Grow stroller wheels are tough enough to go on all terrains.- Nuna DEMI Grow Convertible Stroller Review | Baby Journey

If nothing else, I would invest in the Nuna Demi Grow for its comfort features. For starters, the stroller seat, headrest, and shoulder straps are all draped in breathable fabric.

It is also possible to remove the padded seat and use the mesh seat with free airflow for warmer months in the summer. The beauty of the padded headrest and shoulder straps is that you do not have to worry about head posture or straps pinching your little one.

On sunny days, the very generous UP50+ canopy can be extended to keep your baby protected. It further has a Dream Drape that can be pulled out or retracted inwards whenever necessary. It is great for keeping your baby covered when they are napping while still giving room to monitor them.

Additionally, there is a peek-a-boo window at the back of the canopy that is made of mesh. It offers great ventilation and gives you a full view of the stroller seat as you steer.

My favorite part is that it is clipped in place using magnetic fixtures. This method is not only easier but also keeps everything quiet and is unlikely to stir your sleeping passenger.

The rain cover, which comes in the package, is equally effective in keeping baby dry in case you get caught up in a bit of a drizzle.

The stroller seats each have an adjustable leg rest that can be positioned to match the recline of the seat so that your toddler is comfortable. I, however, reckon that it would come in handy too if you have a passenger in the lower stroller seat.

It enables you to set or move the upper leg rest to a position where it would be easy to place or pick up the baby in the lower seat.

In single stroller mode, the slot for the second stroller seat can be used as an under-basket storage area. It is quite spacious and easily accessible although it can only handle about 10lbs of luggage.

The challenge, however, comes in when you choose to use the Demi Grow in twin mode . With the second seat in place, you would no longer have a storage area which could be a bit of an inconvenience.

The only way to get around this would be to hang a small diaper bag on the handlebar. Hopefully, this is something the brand will address over time.

The first few months after bringing my baby home, my house seemed to have shrunk two sizes. There simply was not enough room for all of us to get around without constantly being in each other’s space. It took some re-organizing tips to get back to a semblance of having any personal space.

My point? A stroller that folds as well as the Nuna Demi Grow is a delight. I equally like that the process is somewhat automated.

You would simply press a button on each side to collapse the stroller and fold the parts towards the directions that they lean in. When folded, the auto-lock system will hold each part in place and prevent the stroller from falling open when it is being moved or during storage.

Speaking of storage, it is possible to fold this stroller with or without the seats. If you would like it to be lean and stay upright to save space, I recommend folding it without the seats.

The Nuna Demi Grow folds into a compact standalone unit. - Nuna DEMI Grow Convertible Stroller Review | Baby Journey

Close Alternatives to the Nuna Demi Grow

To get a true feel of whether the Nuna Demi stroller is the ultimate fit for you and your family, it may be helpful to compare it to other options in the market. Here are a few that I would say are comparable to it.

Thule Sleek City Stroller, Navy Blue

The Thule Sleek Stroller is a convertible stroller that can be configured in 14 ways. The bottom area provides you with storage in single-mode and can be zipped to keep your luggage safe. Weighed against the Nuna Demi you may notice other differences such as:

  • Price- the Thule Sleek costs about $60 more than the Nuna Demi.
  • Weight limit- the maximum weight limit of the Thule Sleek is 33lbs while the Nuna Demi offers 50lbs for two seats.
  • Non-removable liner- if you need a stroller with a liner that you can take off, the Nuna Demi might be a better choice as it is not a feature provided by Thule.

If you do not mind splurging a little bit more, the Thule Sleek Stroller is a strong contender for a luxury stroller. Keep in mind, however, that it will serve you for a shorter duration due to its low weight limit.

  • Converts from a single to a double stroller by adding a sibling seat, bassinet or car seat adapters
  • Use from birth with Thule Sleek Bassinet or car seat adapter (sold separately)
  • Shock-absorbing 4 wheel suspension for a smooth ride

UPPAbaby VISTA V2 Stroller - JORDAN (charcoal/silver/black leather)

The sturdy frame of the UPPAbaby Vista V2 is much like that of the Nuna Demi. It is also a convertible stroller that can carry up to 3 children using a bassinet, a car seat, a rumble seat, or on Piggyback mode for a toddler. It differs from the Nuna Demi due to features like:

  • Price- this UPPAbaby stroller costs about $170 more than the Demi Grow.
  • Seat recline – its seats can be reclined in 6 positions vs 3 from the Demi.
  • Seat position- both the upper and lower seats can be reversed.
  • Weight limit- the rumble seat which is the secondary seat has a maximum weight of 35lbs vs 50lbs for Demi Grow.
  • Storage basket capacity- the storage basket has a 30lbs weight limit compared to Nuna’s 10lbs.

There is no doubt that the UPPAbaby Vista V2 stroller will give you lots to consider. Its features put up a strong case for its much higher price.

  • Enjoy a softer ride pushing one child (or three!) over any ground surface thanks to a new spring-action all-wheel suspension and slightly softer tires.
  • Extended canopies on the toddler seat and RumbleSeat accessory include zip out fabric that provide even more shade from the sun. Mesh panels also make it easy to peek in while adding airflow.
  • A higher back and deeper foot rest on the toddler seat provide added comfort for growing children

Britax B-Ready G3 Stroller, Pistachio

If you are looking for a budget stroller that is comparable to the Nuna Demi Grow, the Britax B-Ready G3 would be a good fit. It can be configured in 12 seating positions and is compatible with all BOB and Britax brand car seats. Its distinct features include:

  • Price- it is priced over $500 less than the Nuna Demi stroller.
  • Weight limits- it can take on as much as 55 pounds of baby weight when used in single-mode; that limit is lower if you use both the upper and lower seats.
  • Rain cover- it does not come with a rain cover but has a canopy.
  • Car seat compatibility- only the upper seat section is compatible with car seats without requiring adapters. To use a car seat in the lower section you will need to buy adapters.

The Britax B-Ready G3 will offer you a good share of the features of the Nuna Demi Grow. It, nevertheless, does not deliver the same refined reliable design. I would also not recommend it for use in rough terrain; its build does not feel resilient enough for that.

  • Versatile design, no flat rubber tires, and double seating with the same mobility as a single stroller
  • Quick fold with 1 or 2 seats attached; 12 seating options when paired with the B Ready Bassinet, Britax Infant Car Seats, or B Ready Second Seat (all sold separately)
  • Travel System ready: compatible with all Britax and BOB infant car seats

The upside of investing in a well-built convertible stroller is that it will serve you well and for a longer duration. This is one of the many reasons why I would recommend this Nuna stroller for twins. In terms of suitability, consider the Nuna Demi Grow if you:

  • Need a stroller that is easy to maneuver in different kinds of terrain.
  • Would enjoy comfortable steering with an ergonomic handle that is height adjustable to suit you.
  • Prefer a stroller with a generous weight limit of up to 50lbs.
  • Need a stroller that is stylish, durable, and offers numerous configurations.

Does this sound like the luxury ride you are hoping for? If so, check it out here .

Nuna Demi Grow Review

A gorgeous, well-designed stroller with a classic European look, the Nuna Demi Grow converts to a cozy double stroller with the addition of a sibling seat (sold separately). Compared to the Nuna Mixx2 , the Demi Grow has a bucket seat recline versus a nearly flat recline, a different folding mechanism, and accommodates a second seat. Compared to the UPPAbaby Vista and Baby Jogger City Select Lux , the Demi Grow is very similar in terms of quality and size, the main difference being that the second seat on the Demi Grow is situated below and behind (instead of below and in front of) the main toddler seat. Many kids find this positioning to be cozy and love it. Shorter parents may find that this seat gets in the way as they push the stroller.

nuna demi grow travel system review

Things We Love

  • Beautiful European Design:  The Demi Grow has a classic European look. All of the color options look sharp, and you can’t go wrong with any of them.
  • Cozy Bassinet:  Nuna sells its European-style bassinet separately for $179.95. It features a hidden pocket, a compact, flat fold, and a dream drape for sun coverage. (Note: This bassinet is different from the one used on the Nuna Mixx 2.)
  • Nice Recline for a Bucket Seat; Adjustable Footrest: The Demi Grow features a multi-position recline; however, due to the molded bucket seat, the seat will never recline completely flat. The seat is technically approved for newborn use, but for the safest fit, newborns will need to use the bassinet or car seat. The footrest is easily adjustable with a single lever.
  • Good-Sized Storage Basket: As a single stroller, the Demi Grow features a super large storage basket. Most of that space gets taken up by the second seat when this stroller is used as a double, but even so, there is enough room for a small diaper bag.
  • Convertible to Double Stroller: The Demi Grow converts to a double stroller with the addition of a sibling seat , sold separately. The second seat sits behind and below the identical main seat.
  • Solid Suspension; Big Wheels: The Demi Grow features foam-filled wheels and four-wheel suspension for a reasonably smooth ride even on more uneven surfaces. It is not an off-road stroller and will not fare super well on dirt paths, gravel or sand, though if you lock the front wheels, you will be able to push it through grass or along dirt paths.
  • Forward or Parent-Facing: The seat can face forward or backward, depending on your preference.
  • Oversized Extendable Canopy: The sun canopy extends all the way to the bumper bar for maximum coverage.
  • Most but Not All Important Accessories Included: The Demi Grow comes with a bumper bar, two sets of car seat adapters, wheel fenders, and a rain cover. All other accessories, like the bassinet , second seat , bug shields, and footmuffs are sold separately.

Things We Don't Love As Much

  • Heavy: Weighing in at about 30 pounds as a single and about 35 pounds as a double, the Nuna Demi Grow is one of the heavier luxury strollers out there.
  • Simple, Bulky Fold: The Demi Grow folds very simply. The end result is rather bulky, so make sure to measure your trunk to make sure this stroller will fit in it before purchasing.
  • “Cozy” Second Seat Positioning; Not Ideal for Shorter Parents: While most second seats attach in front of and below the primary seat, on the Demi Grow, the second seat attaches behind and below the primary seat. Because of this, the second seat can feel like it's in the way while you’re pushing the stroller, especially if that second seat is reclined. Nuna solved for this by making the handlebar extra long so that the seat doesn’t trip you up, but the tall handlebar can be its own challenge if you’re on the shorter side.
  • Limited Storage as Double Stroller: As soon as you switch from a single to a double stroller with the Demi Grow, you are limited to minimal storage space. You can still fit a small diaper bag at the front of your storage basket, but it will be right against your child's feet. (Most kids don't mind one bit.)
  • Only compatible with Nuna Car Seats:  Because this stroller uses a ring adapter to attach the car seat, it is only compatible with Nuna car seats. (Nuna is our favorite car seat and I wouldn't say being able to attach your car seat to the stroller is the biggest deal in the world. Still… this is limiting.)
  • Nuna Demi Grow – $799.95
  • Nuna Demi Grow + Bassinet – $979.90
  • Nuna Demi Grow + Bassinet + Sibling Seat – $1159.85

Nuna Demi Grow

www.mamasandpapas.com

We spoke to these real parent testers to get their review...

How did this product make your life easier?

Kirsty : The pushchair makes life easier because you can push two children in it at the same time, so your toddler can hop in when they get tired of walking and you don't get stuck trying to carry a heavy toddler home in one arm while pushing your baby with the other. It is really easy to add and remove the extra seat unit, so you can easily swap between single and double modes as necessary without any trouble at all. The sunshade comes right over and keeps baby completely shielded from the sun which is a big help. The huge basket when using the pushchair in single mode is extremely helpful to carry everything you might need, because we all know you need everything but the kitchen sink when you're heading out for the day with a baby (although the kitchen sink would be helpful too!).

Katie : Everything about this product makes life easier. The countless combinations of car seat/carrycot/seat unit is brilliant, and I love that it came with the car seat adaptors meaning it was ready to go. The under basket is absolutely huge, which is so useful on a buggy. There’s a little zip compartment in the basket which I love for chucking my keys in, then being able to easily get my hands on them I get home instead of routing through a bag. Having the bottom seat meant I could go for really long walks, knowing my older child could get in and out as she pleased when she felt tired, or wanted to walk again. I don’t know how I managed with two children before I used this buggy.

Rachael : The product was very easy to use and put together straight out the box, I found this really helpful during caring for my 6 month old while my husband was at work, It was so much easier to use and set up than my current product, it came really well packaged and looked great quality once I took it out the box.

Would you recommend this to other parents?

Amie : The removeable, extendable and protective UPF 50+ canopy with flip out eyeshade on the Nuna Demi Grow is amazing! This feature is so reassuring that if the weather suddenly changes to sunshine my child had the protection without rembering to carry the sunshade or umbrella. The accessories  - footmuff, raincover, removable shopping basket, car seat adaptors (2 sets), seat and carry cot risers are all great! The raincover fits the best I have ever seen on a pushchair.

Danielle : This pushchair is extremely easy to put together and very simple to adjust. I love the fact that the top part of the pushchair is quite high. As a mum who suffers with a bad back, it makes things so much easier that I don't have to bend down as much. The ride is really smooth and it was very easy to push and manoeuvre around both flat and unsteady ground. Both my children felt really comfortable in this pushchair and both seats were very roomy.

Charlotte : I would recommend this product because it is great quality! It looks very stylish and is nice and sturdy and easy to use. It always folds away nice and compact and is easy to fit in most car boot sizes I would say. Definitely a great selling point that it folds downs easily and nicely. I also think the fabric and colour of this pushchair is great and would be easily maintained which is something I always look out for as a mum as kids can be so messy.

Would you choose this product above all others on the market?

Libbie : I would choose this product above all others on the market. It is so light and easy to push. I really like that it means I can go out without worrying about carrying a child. It’s also meant if I’m looking after any of my friends younger children I can still go out for walks or run errands on my own.

Carina : I would most definitely choose this pram above all else because I think this pram has been amazing, light, a smooth runner, fairly big wheels so it goes across gravel pretty well. It all round looks nice. It’s light enough to lift into a boot and it’s so easy to fold up and down.

Lauren: I think I would choose this product yes, I normally prefer side by side doubles however this one I found both children were able to see out and about rather than one restricted by the other. It was so handy to push! It’s very easy to fold down and get into car (after I finally worked out how to do it!)

What changes would you make to this product?

Amy : The pram came with seats only. The option of bassinets for a newborn would be an advantage. These may be available but I haven't tested them. Due to the nature of these type of prams they can be bulky and it did take up a lot of space in the boot of the car but that is to be expected with a double pram.

Clare : If I could change one thing about this pram it would be that the belly bar would be easier to detach. I find it much easier to detach the bar while trying to get the children in but with this pram it took me a long time to figure out how to do it and I found the mechanism was hidden under the material which meant this was quite fiddly every time I wanted to do it.

Jenny : The colour, I would prefer a different colour combination than all black, again this is personal preference. The overall suspension with 2 children in, i.e. added weight could also have been better. I found it much harder to manoeuvre with both children in. It was also quite difficult to lift up, for example when going up a small curb etc, with two children in particularly.

Nuna Demi Grow Double Stroller Review: A Solution for Parents

Nuna strollers are very popular and known to be some of the best strollers in the industry. They are known for their stylish and thoughtful design, use of high end materials and overall durability. Nuna has a wide range of single strollers from compact travel strollers to larger, full featured models. Each stroller model has its own long list of unique characteristics and features. Nuna currently only makes one double stroller model in 2023 called the Demi Grow.

The Nuna Demi Grow double stroller is a very competitive yet unique double stroller that competes against all of the best luxury double strollers on the market.  We will explore the benefits and features of this top-of-the-line double stroller and help you understand if the Nuna double stroller is the ideal choice for your family.

Nuna Demi Grow double stroller profile view

Double strollers always seem to have a bit of an awkward design to them when compared to their single stroller counterparts. The Nuna Demi Grow double stroller is no exception. It has the same basic silhouette as the rest of the Nuna stroller lineup when in single stroller form. The main design difference when only one seat is installed, is the visible height of the seat from the frame of the stroller. To ultimately accommodate a double stroller configuration many double strollers raise the primary seat to allow room on the frame for that second seat. Other than that small detail, the Nuna double stroller essentially looks like a single stroller when the additional seat isn’t there.

When the Nuna Demi Grow double stroller has both seats installed, of course the design is very different from that of any Nuna single stroller. Not only does the Demi grow look different than any other Nuna product, it looks different than most other double strollers.

Nuna Demi Grow double stroller hazlewood profile

When the second seat is installed in addition to the primary seat, the second seat essentially ends up looking like it’s just sitting in the lower basket. This is pretty much because it is. Unlike other double strollers, the Nuna’s second seat consumes the space of the lower storage basket. From a design standpoint this looks a bit strange having a child mounted so low to the ground. From the perspective of function, many users see it as a good design.

Aside from reducing basket space many users appreciate the effect it has on maneuverability of the double stroller. The Nuna Demi Grow in double stroller configuration has a lowered center of gravity that adds to the feeling of safety and stability as well as make the stroller easier to push over various surfaces.

Nuna designed their double stroller to be fashionable, functional and durable like all of their other products. The Demi Grow is covered in fabric that feels very soft and high quality to the touch. The material used on the included Classic Canopy is also water resistant to protect the little ones from the rain soaking through.

Nuna Double Stroller Demi Grow Caviar 3/4

The Nuna Demi Grow is currently available in four fabric color options. Like most strollers, the aluminum frame remains the same color no matter overall color selection.  The current colors for the Nuna Demi Grow are Caviar (Black), Hazelwood (Tan), Ocean (very dark blue) and Refined (gray). The colors available for the double stroller are pretty much a selection of Nuna’s more traditional colors. Many strollers that Nuna sells have fewer color options like the Triv and Pepp, while the Mixx Next has the widest color palette (9 colors!). So with 4 upscale colors to choose from we think you can definitely find something that fits your style.

One interesting aspect of the Nuna Demi Grow double stroller’s color palette is the color of the vegan leather handlebar and armbar . Both of those items come in a brown color on all color selections except if you opt for Ocean. If you want your Nuna double stroller in Ocean then the handlebar and arm bar leather change to black.

Nuna Double stroller Demi Grow Ocean side

Overall there is nothing to really complain about the colors or build quality of the stroller. Of course, the ability to have even more fabric colors to choose from or mix and match the handlebar and arm bar colors would be nice but the current selection is good enough for us.

The build quality is on par with the best high end strollers on the market. It rolls smoothly and relatively effortlessly even with double seats installed and occupied and never feels as if it is top heavy or tipsy. There are no creaks, squeaks or rattles even over uneven surfaces and it feels well put together.

The overall size of the Nuna Demi Grow in double stroller configuration is something that we can appreciate. Double strollers are usually quite large and their size becomes easily noticed in tighter spaces like stores or areas crowded with people like outdoor markets and amusement parks. This Nuna double stroller handles its size very wel l and doesn’t feel like the behemoth many other doubles strollers do.

One reason the Nuna has this relatively compact feeling when in double stroller configuration is because the footprint doesn’t really change when the second seat is added. The intelligent yet unique positioning of the lower seat on the chassis means that the stroller doesn’t need to gain much physical length when used as a double stroller compared to the single seat configuration. So, that odd Nuna double stroller design characteristic we described earlier actually seems to have a practical use in the real world.

Nuna double stroller Demi Grow profile

As far as compactness when folded, the Nuna Demi Grow double stroller has folded dimensions of L 23.5” x W 24” x  H 35” which puts it in the same ballpark as competitors like the Uppababy Vista V2 and Mockingbird Double stroller.

With the seats removed the Nuna weighs in at 27.4 pounds in the lightest form. Nuna gets to this weight by removing the winter seat, canopy and arm bar. With those items we would expect a weight around 30 pounds. The total weight when the second seat is installed grows to over 35 pounds which does make it a bit heavy when compared to its peers like the Uppababy Vista V2 (32.6 pounds) and the Mockingbird Double stroller (35 pounds even).

We attribute this weight to the additional strength required to allow the Nuna Demi Grow double stroller to accommodate a larger 50 pound weight limit per seat. The Vista V2 has a second seat limit of only 35 pounds and the Mockingbird has a 45 pound second seat limit. The weight that really matters most for most people in our opinion is the folded weight with seats removed since that’s the configuration the majority of people would use when loading and unloading to and from the trunk of their car.

As far as seating configurations go Nuna has counted a total of 23 different possible “modes” for the double stroller in double and single seat configurations. It is pretty versatile in that respect with the 23 configurations including combinations with the car seat, bassinet and toddler seat.

Nuna Double stroller Demi Grow classic canopy

One thing that is nice is that the Nuna Demi Grow comes with two canopies out of the box so you can configure the double stroller appropriately for the climate you use it in. It comes with the “Classic Canopy” which we call the winter canopy, and the “Aire Protect Canopy” as the summer canopy.

Nuna double stroller Demi Grow Aire Protect Canopy

The Aire Protect Canopy is made of lighter material and offers better ventilation than the standard Classic Canopy. The Aire Protect Canopy also contains a very useful built-in magnetic mosquito net that conveniently unzips from the Nuna’s canopy itself and provides full coverage against mosquitos. Usually we don’t like when strollers or other products come with additional unwanted accessories that are included in the already high price. We think that in the case of the Nuna Demi Grow, nearly everyone will make use out of these canopies no matter where in the country you live. The real trick will be if they create a single canopy that has the features of both!

Nuna double stroller Demi Grow summer seat

One last favorite feature related to the winter/summer canopy setup is the “All-season Seat” the standard seat of the Nuna double stroller has a cozy cushioned winter seat setup and when the extra cushioning is removed the seat is turned into a summer seat with a fully mesh back. The fully mesh back not only reduces stroller weight but also provides massive amounts of airflow which can make a huge difference in areas that get really hot in the summer. The mesh itself provides a fair amount of bounce and cushion so the seat doesn’t feel any less comfortable. This seat along with the canopy setup nearly provides a totally different stroller experience for the passenger.

Storage Options

We know one potential downside of the Nuna Demi Grow double stroller setup is that when configured as a double stroller there is limited storage space. This can be a make or break issue for people who may want to or are already used to using a large under stroller basket to carry items. We really wish Nuna engineered a solution to the lack of storage of their double stroller. As far as options go, Nuna doesn’t currently have any sort or additional accessory to purchase that can add any sort of storage to the Demi Grow when in double stroller configuration.

This reminds us of the common issue with three row SUV’s. The car manufacturer brags about having plenty of room for 7 passengers in a seemingly small midsize vehicle. Then you open the trunk with the third row up and there is hardly any room for a purse because that third row occupies the entire trunk. That is part of the sacrifice you have to live with in this relatively compact easy to maneuver double stroller. If you want plenty of cargo space AND room for more passengers at the same time, you are going to have to look at a larger vehicle.

Ride and Handling

Nuna double stroller Demi Grow wheels

As we have touched on before, the Nuna Demi Grow double stroller is known to be one of the best handling strollers on the market when fully configured. In double stroller configuration it has one of the lowest center of gravity’s of any stroller making it handle like a Lotus Elise in a sea of Suburbans on the playground. With the second seat installed the weight isn’t just low on the chassis but it’s also away from the front wheels which help immensely with turn in response. Because of the Nuna Demi Grows weight distribution as a double stroller, it handles beautifully!

The ride is also very good in either configuration over rough terrain due to the stroller’s suspension system. Nuna calls their suspension system “Custom Dual Suspension”. Details are slim on the technical side of what really makes the “Custom Dual Suspension” system an engineering feat but we can assure you it helps a lot with offroad maneuverability. It is comparable to any other stroller with a full suspension setup on uneven surfaces.

Thoughtful Features

Nuna double stroller Demi Grow buckle

The Nuna Demi Grow double stroller has several small features we think go a long way when it comes to usability for the parents. We love the magnetic buckle on the child seats! Nuna calls this the “MagneTech Secure Snap” and it helps solve the issue of frustrating and hard to snap and align buckles and straps. The Nuna Demi Grow buckle system uses magnets to help guide the straps into the correct position to easily and securely snap together. In our opinion, any improvement of the buckle system is a step in the right direction.

We are also fans of the many adjustments of the double stroller designed to be operated one handed. The seat calf support, seat recline, canopy extend/retract, and the swinging open of the arm bar are all one hand operations that require minimum effort to execute.

Overall Take on Nuna Demi Grow as a Double Stroller

Nuna double stroller Demi Grow GLE

The Nuna Demi Grow double stroller is a strong competitor to the Mockingbird Double and Uppababy Vista. It is definitely different in its design and execution but we think that the differences are ultimately well thought out and not different for the sake of being different. We love the superb handling characteristics and lower center of gravity along with the many one handed operations the stroller is capable of.

The smaller overall size of the Nuna in double stroller configuration , along with the sacrifices of storage can be a deal breaker to some. We understand that but also see the advantages of navigating a true double stroller in crowded areas that doesn’t feel like a top heavy stretch limo. Ultimately, the Nuna Demi Grow double stroller is a great stroller for many families but not a one size fits all solution for everyone. It definitely has its pluses and minuses as a double stroller but it still ranks near the top of our favorite list!

Before our kids came along, one of my husband and I’s favorite things to do together was walking our two big dogs. I was worried that would change when babies came, so I knew that the right stroller would be key to ensuring the pups still got their adventures in. As a product reviewer, I’ve had the opportunity to try several strollers in the few months I’ve been a mom. While they each have their pros and cons, our second kiddo coming into the picture had me rethinking our stroller needs. I needed something to fit both of them, that was sturdy, yet still folded up well for our relatively small home. Premium and practical products are what I’ve come to expect from Nuna, so I knew I had to try their newest single-to-double stroller, the DEMI next ($950), to see if it would work for our growing family.

  • Large carrying basket to accommodate up to 22 lbs of the inevitable crap you bring along with kids
  • Over 25 configurations possible to ensure the right fit every time for your growing fam
  • My toddler is obsessed with the rider board!
  • Rider board flips conveniently into the basket when not in use
  • Gorgeous, sturdy design built to last
  • Simple, intuitive set up

We don't like

  • Have to purchase the second seat separately
  • Wish the handle extended just a bit longer to accommodate rider board
  • Premium price, however this does reflect its quality

Demi™ Next + Rider Board

Shaking up the world of luxury strollers.

If you’re not familiar with the brand, allow me to introduce you to Nuna , a luxury brand for parents around the world. With a mission to “bring practical and functional designs to life for families,” Nuna makes strollers, car seats, play yards, among other baby essentials. Inspired by Dutch design, Nuna factors craftsmanship and quality into each product they make.

View this post on Instagram A post shared by Nuna USA (@nuna_usa)

This isn’t my first time testing out a Nuna product. In fact, I actually reviewed one of their travel systems (a stroller and infant car seat) earlier this year. I absolutely loved this stroller for my first baby. The lightweight nature of it allowed us to go everywhere we wanted with him without the hassle of a big, heavy stroller. We still use it all of the time for quick adventures! However, things got a little hairy when our second little guy joined our family. While the PIPA urbn + TRIV next Travel System is great, it only accommodates one child. With 2 under 2, we needed a new solution… fast.

Meet the All-New DEMI next

The DEMI next is Nuna’s second stroller that can accommodate 2 kids, the other being the DEMI grow. The DEMI next includes a rider board, one seat, and an infant car seat ring. Other accessories, such as a bassinet and second sibling seat , are able to be purchased separately. With these, there are over 25 configurations possible, which is quite impressive from a design perspective.

Unboxing the stroller was pretty simple. Besides the strollers that are in one piece already, it was definitely on the simpler side of installation. As a vehement hater of reading directions, I was pleased that I was able to install it without using the user manual. While that might not be recommended, frankly, I find it to be a test of excellent design. After all, there are days where grandparents, babysitters, and others take the stroller… and I’d rather not give them a 20-minute tutorial on how to use it. When I initially unboxed mine, I set it up with the infant car seat ring (which fits my PIPA urbn car seat), as well as the second seat on the bottom for my toddler. I played around a bit and ended up switching the second seat out for the rider board, which easily folds into the basket when it’s not in use.

Taking It to the Streets

Despite it being a chilly, Michigan winter day, my husband and I loaded the troops up and took the stroller for its first test run around the neighborhood. I’m not going to lie, I was a little nervous about how my toddler would handle the rider board, but he ended up absolutely loving it! It did take some training for him to learn not to put his feet down on the ground while we were moving, as well as where to put his hands, but once he learned, it was perfect for him to be able to get on and off easily. It accommodates up to 50 lbs, so he’ll be able to use it for a good while. For longer walks, travel, and zoo days, we’ll likely put the seat in there for him, but I was so pleased with the ease of the rider board. The infant ring worked super well, too, keeping my newborn safe and secure throughout our walk.  ‍

nuna demi grow travel system review

Perhaps my favorite part of the entire stroller is just its overall sturdiness. It really feels well-made and like it will last us through multiple kids. There are several features throughout the stroller that are subtle, but surely appreciated by parents. For example, there are fenders over the big wheels. I giggled when I first saw them because I assumed they’d prevent mud from flicking up… but I am guessing they are actually for toddler toes to not get squished in the wheels. Brilliant!

The handle easily comes up and down to accommodate for different heights pushing the stroller, as well as to give you a bit of space with the rider board. I could use one more setting, as sometimes I feel a little close to my kiddo when he’s using the rider board. The folding is also excellent, including a latch to keep it folded. This is one of my grievances with some of my other strollers… they constantly come undone while “folded.” Another thing I noticed is the elevated seat height compared to other strollers. This is probably to make room for the second seat underneath, but it also really helps to maintain eye contact when I need to get on my child’s level. There are plenty of times on walks and other family outings I need to correct something, which always helps to be at their level.

Is This the Next Stroller for Your Fam?

I knew Nuna’s products were great before trying the DEMI next, so my expectations were high for this product. I’m so pleased that the brand not only met, but exceeded, my expectations for the stroller. While there are a few things I wish could be improved, like a slightly longer handle and the possibility to buy a second seat with the stroller purchase, it has consistently performed for my family as an excellent, everyday stroller. I’m ecstatic that we’ve been able to continue our family dog walks post-kids, thanks to the sturdiness and ease of use of the DEMI next. I know this is one product that’ll be around our home and kiddos for a long, long time.

Nuna’s New Demi Next Stroller Rides 25+ Ways

Video review: testing the latest nuna stroller with an xl convertible canopy and included riding board., by babylist team.

Nuna’s New Demi Next Stroller Rides 25+ Ways

When you find a stroller you really love, ideally you want it to last as long as possible (aka through the newborn and toddler years). In the video review above, we take a look at the new Nuna Demi Next stroller —the latest in Nuna’s lineup of luxe gear, which has everything you need to take it from infant to multi-rider mode. Here’s what you need to know about this upgraded gear.

What the Nuna Demi Next Stroller Does

A lot of strollers offer just one or two modes of use: travel system, single stroller or modular stroller. But this combines all three—you can use it from birth with the included infant car seat adapters (Nuna is famed for their ultra-light infant car seats —one even weighs less than a gallon of milk) or add a bassinet (sold separately). Then if you decide to grow your family, the second sibling seat can be purchased for double stroller mode. There’s even a riding board already included for families that have an infant and toddler in tow at the same time.

new image

Magnetic Buckles: Most strollers use a standard click buckle to secure your baby into the seat, but Nuna’s guides itself together with the use of handy (but secure) magnets. It may sound like a small detail, but it’s a big win when you’ve got a wiggly little one.

Cascading Canopy Cover: Nuna fit an impressive amount of coverage into their canopy—an extra helpful detail during bright daytime walks or inclement weather (it’s both water repellant and UPF50+). When you’re done with the canopy, it folds up and zips away.

No Re-thread Harness: Babies go through a lot of growth spurts in a short period of time. A no re-thread harness means you don’t have to fuss with taking the harness out of the seat and trying to re-route it when you’re adjusting to baby’s height.

Recline to the Max: Once baby is safely buckled in, the seat can be reclined in four different positions—handy to help them shift their view. The recline adjusts with one hand (in case you’ve got an iced coffee in the other), and glides up and down. When baby’s legs grow, the calf-support on the lower part of the seat also adjusts with one-hand. (You can see it in action at the 1:46 mark in our video.)

Smooth, Suspension-Guided Motion: If you live in an area with uneven pavements or long hills, a robust suspension can make for a much smoother ride. This stroller has large foam-filled wheels and a one-touch rear wheel brake that you just tap with your foot for easy stops and starts. It also has custom dual suspension, which is a fancy way of saying that you can flip a switch to choose one of two ways to ride depending on what kind of terrain you’re on. We tested this on a hilly sidewalk that went over cobblestone and uneven pavement, and there was little-to-no bounce factor for baby.

Why You’d Want That

If you’re going to spring for a more premium stroller, it helps to get the most bang for your buck. With the Nuna Demi Next, you have the flexibility to convert from infant to toddler to double so you can use it for years.

And because it’s a Nuna stroller, you don’t have to sacrifice the creature comforts that make the ride smoother—the magnetic buckles, easier-to-adjust harness and XL canopy are basically frustration-free parent perks.

Nuna DEMI Next Stroller - Caviar - $950.00.

Nuna DEMI Next Stroller - Caviar

And unlike other convertible strollers, Nuna’s already included some of the most essential accessories, like infant car seat adapters and a toddler riding board (which are typically around $150 or more combined). So while this stroller may come in at the higher end of your budget, all those extra accessories and bonus features means you’re getting a stroller you won’t have to (or want to) upgrade in a year or two. Watch our complete video review to see the Nuna Demi Next in action and figure out if it’s the right fit for your family.

Nuna DEMI Grow 2019 | Full Review ( Ratings | Review )

With the Nuna DEMI Grow 2019 , all of your single-to-double stroller needs are solved! Though there were no major changes made between the 2018 and 2019 iterations of the Nuna DEMI Grow, this exceptional stroller is still perfect for both single- and double-seater strolling, and is compatible with the Nuna PIPA car seats that you already love. And the best news? There are still more DEMI Grow features to talk about! Read on (or check out our YouTube review !) to learn more.

NUNA DEMI GROW SEATING

nuna demi grow travel system review

Let’s start with the seat on the Nuna DEMI Grow 2019. Reversible and capable of multi-level reclining (there are three reclining positions for forward-facing seating, and two reclining positions for rear-facing seating), the Nuna DEMI Grow stroller seat is exceptionally comfortable. That being said, it is NOT newborn compatible, so any fresh-out-of-the-oven strolling will have to be done with the Nuna DEMI Grow Bassinet , which you can purchase as an accessory. You can also attach an infant car seat to the Nuna DEMI Grow frame, thanks to an included ring adapter that is compatible with all Nuna PIPA series car seats. In addition to all of this wonderful seating adaptability, the Nuna DEMI Grow also features high-quality textiles that make this seat (and, for that matter, the rest of the stroller!) sturdy and comfortable, no matter where or when you and your baby are strolling.

NUNA DEMI GROW FEATURES

Nuna Demi Grow in twelve different positions

The Nuna DEMI Grow 2019’s stroller seat isn’t the only impressive part of this stellar stroller; the DEMI Grow also features a large under seat seat, a leatherette handle, and an adjustable handlebar and footwell. Need to fold up your Nuna DEMI Grow? No problem! The DEMI Grow folds up like a dream, and stores upright in your home or while out-and-about with your child.

NUNA DEMI GROW TRANSITION

Nuna DEMI Grow in its double configuration

Of course, the biggest draw to the Nuna DEMI Grow 2019 is its ability to transition between a single-seater position and a double-seater position. The DEMI Grow really stands out from the crowd of single-to-double strollers in that its rumble seat is identical to its original stroller seat; both seats are reversible and can hold up to fifty pounds! Plus, the set-up of the seats in double-seater configuration is exceptionally ingeniou. Rather than loading the second seat in front of the original stroller seat, making the stroller super front-heavy, the DEMI Grow rumble seat is situated behind the original stroller seat, allowing for a more contained center of gravity. With the DEMI Grow, going over curbs in a double stroller is no longer an issue!
