About rainbow.
Rainbow (also known as Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow or Blackmore's Rainbow) are a British rock band led by guitarist Ritchie Blackmore, active from 1975 to 1984, from 1993 to 1997, and from 2015 to the present. They were originally established with Ronnie James Dio's American rock band Elf, but after their first album, Blackmore fired the backing members and continued with Dio until 1979. Three British musicians joined in 1979, singer Graham Bonnet, keyboardist Don Airey, former Deep Purple bassist Roger Glover, and this line-up gave the band their commercial breakthrough with the single "Since You Been Gone". Over the years Rainbow went through many line-up changes with no two studio albums featuring the same line-up. Other lead singers Joe Lynn Turner and Doogie White would follow, and the project consisted of numerous backing musicians. A pioneer to power metal, the band's early work primarily featured mystical lyrics with a neoclassical metal style, but went in a more streamlined, commercial direction following Dio's departure from the group. Rainbow were ranked No. 90 on VH1's 100 Greatest Artists of Hard Rock. The band has sold over 28 million records worldwide.

Another great show by Ritchie's 21st century rock band at the Genting Arena.
It is a shame that there have been just 6 shows over the last 13 months as the band is tightening up and they are taking more risks with the material.
Fans who are hoping for Kill the King, Gates of Babylon, Eyes of the World or Tarot Woman will have been disappointed, but should not be surprised as RB has material he likes doing and stuff he doesn't.
Spotlight Kid was the opener in the Turner and White era's and is restored to that position.
There is less Purple stuff in 2017 (compared to the 2016 shows) with I Surrender, Since You Been Gone, All Night Long, Man on the Silver Mountain, Long Live Rock'n'Roll, Catch the Rainbow, Stargazer and Difficult to Cure all showcased, along with Mistreated (which Rainbow played from 1976-78) and Perfect Strangers which he was playing around with while still with Rainbow.
To be fair, all of the Rainbow albums except the last two, "Bent out of Shape" and "Stranger in us all" were represented, although some of the material and the arrangements used are more successful than others.
We also got keyboard and drum solo's, the latter of which saw singer Ronnie Romero joining in, a seemingly off the cuff version of Blues, followed by Lazy,a snippet of Woman from Tokyo, Soldier of Fortune, Black Night (well it did get to number 2), a run through Child in Time which included a bass guitar solo and the usual finale of Burn & Smoke on the Water.
One of the highlights of the show was an instrumental which appears to be called "Carry on Jon", obviously dedicated to Jon Lord who was co-founder of Deep Purple with RB), throughout which the backdrop included many shots of Jon throughout his career in music. Ritchie played acoustic while the band backed him in normal fashion.
I was fortunate to see Rainbow in the early 80's on a number of occasions. I am sure there were many people at this show who saw them in the 1970's.
The current Rainbow bears little resemblance to the band of the 1970's and the latter incarnations of the 1980's, but we are all older and time has moved on.
Many people who did not see Rainbow or Deep Purple when Ritchie Blackmore was driving those bands don't seem to grasp how he played in those days.
True, there was probably a bit more bite, aggression and speed in those early days, but there was always the other side to RB that often gets overlooked and by the impression I got leaving after the 2 hours 10 minutes show virtually everyone was well satisfied with what they got!

Interesting show. Last time Richie played the NEC was in 1993 with Deep Purple and he only walked on stage for his solos and then walked off.
Like in 1993 he opened the show with Highway Star only this time completed the whole number without physically assaulting a camera man has he did in 93.
It was good to see he'd grown up.
As for the music he was great and his new band were good and I enjoyed it, but did feel it lacked some magic.
Was it Dio? I'd seen Dio so many times playing these Rainbow numbers it was hard not to compare to him.
I guess what might have been great is if it was a real final tribute and goodbye to the music that involved some of the other musicians and singers you also contributed to making these songs great rather than it just being a show about Richie.
Don't get me wrong, I loved the show and having sworn I'd never pay money to see Richie again after 93 I forgave him this night as he put in a great performance.
Just lacked some of the excitement and magic.
Really goodnight, excellent show, never seen RAINBOW ,but seen DEEP PURPLE,and BLACKMORES NIGHT SEVERAL TIMES only spoils by losing my credit card on the way to the show so I could not get a t shirt. Ritchie top guitarist, well done Ronnie for pulling off an amazing act. As QUEEN and ACDC have only had 2 singers each to compare each other with,I think Ronnies singing was spot on for all the songs.
I was so excited to see them and I think they started off pretty well but... half way the singer started to play primadonna and walked out of the stage and they all followed one by one leaving just one on stage to entertain the fans. That was so wrong in so many levels and I would defo find another singer he wasn’t all that too.
But it was lovely to see Ritchie B and the rest of the band..
Fantastic show. All the hits and Ronnie Romero voice was amazing with Ritchie on top form. Mistreated,I Surrender etc. 2 hour show.If they tour again next year I be first in the queue for tickets. A word about the Sweet who were support.....Amazing.
Awesome concert, I really enjoyed the band and of course Ritchie! I had seen him before with Blackmore's night at 1997, but this time he was rocking! I just wish he was playing for ever :)
Was cancelled & not rearranged. Hotel paid for & unrefundable. :-( didn't exactly appreciate being asked to write a review for a gig that was cancelled & i'd lost money on.
