Early Hours

This extra hour gives you the opportunity to visit the San Diego Zoo and Safari Park an hour before we open to the general public on select days of the year.

Early hours  are an exclusive benefit for our San Diego Resident Premium members, Wildlife Protector Premium members, Wildlife Guardians, Wildlife Champions, President's Clubs, and Circle of Friends.  Wildlife Supporter members are also eligible.

Enjoy the early morning sights and sounds of the Zoo an hour before it opens to the general public. This exclusive opportunity takes place on one day each month (see dates below) between 8 and 8:45 a.m. To join us, simply present your qualifying membership card at the San Diego Zoo's main entrance beginning at 8 a.m.

From Interstate 5 (Orange County, Los Angeles), take the State Route 78 East exit at Oceanside, proceed east to Interstate 15 South, exit at Via Rancho Parkway (Exit 27) and follow the signs to the Park. From Interstate 15 (Riverside), exit at Via Rancho Parkway (Exit 27) and follow the signs east to the Park.

From State Route 163 (downtown San Diego, Mission Valley) proceed to Interstate 15 North to the Via Rancho Parkway exit (Exit 27). Go east and follow signs to the Park. From Interstate 5 or 805 (Mexico), proceed to State Route 163, then to Interstate 15 North, and then exit at Via Rancho Parkway (Exit 27). Follow signs east.

From Interstate 8 (Imperial County, Arizona) take Interstate 15 North to the Via Rancho Parkway exit (Exit 27). Follow the signs east to the Park.

General parking (automobiles and motorcycles): $20 per vehicle. RV parking: starting at $38. Preferred parking: starting at $38. First come, first served; there are no in and out privileges.

Guests with Disabilities

The San Diego Zoo Safari Park welcomes all guests. We have several services to help guests with disabilities enjoy their visit. The Safari Park provides special parking, restrooms, and access to shows, tour buses, and exhibits for guests with disabilities. Please note there are steep grades in parts of the Safari Park. A complimentary ADA shuttle service operates inside the Safari Park for guests with mobility-related disabilities. Guests who use mobility assistive devices may also refer to the  map for ADA pathways and elevators.

Wildlife Safari is a 610-acre Drive-Thru animal park. Driving your own vehicle, it takes about 1-1/2 hours to complete. You will receive a map of the park to enhance your experience and help identify animals with your admission. Group rates are available for groups of 12 or more which you can learn more about by inquiring with guest services at 541.679.6761 or [email protected].

For the safety of our animals and yours, NO animals are allowed in the Safari Village nor the Wildlife Safari Drive Through. Wildlife Safari offers free onsite (unsupervised) kennels for pets, and sells locks for the kennels for a $5 fee at guest services, inside of the gift shop. It is recommended to bring a water bowl as well.

Drive Thru Rules & Restrictions

• Wildlife Safari is located in Winston, Oregon, just minutes off of I-5.
• Animal Enrichment Encounter tickets do not include drive-through admission, which is required to participate in Animal Enrichment Encounters.
• Be sure to check out the Always Free Safari Village .
• Mothers get in free on Mother’s Day, fathers get in free on Father’s Day, veterans get in free on Veteran’s Day.

PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

Our chapter was founded in 1978 by a group of hunters who became concerned with the future of hunting in California. We came to realize that we had to present a visible and united image to those who would see all hunting banned. Over the years we have raised well over one million dollars, which has funded conservation and habitat projects throughout our state. We also support projects nationally and internationally. We are one of several chapters in California who has enlisted the services of a legislative advocate (lobbyist) to represent us on hunting, firearms and land issues in the California Legislature.

SAFARI CLUB INTERNATIONAL

Our parent organization, safari club international, has formed a commanding and influential lobbying, and informational group on capitol hill, which is continually educating our nation's lawmakers on many conservation issues. in our nation's capitol, we are recognized as a dynamic, powerful force in conservation, hunter protection and education..

Sacramento Safari Club has actively been part of the recent foundation of the California Coalition. This non profit organization focuses its resources on the protection of hunting and gun rights in California.
