Best Day Tours in Seoul

1. the traditional seoul: gyeongbokgung palace & bukchon hanok village.

Gyeongbokgung Palace - Seoul in Winter

Are you a history buff or just love dressing up? Then this day tour in Seoul is the dream! You get to visit the iconic Gyeongbokgung Palace – a UNESCO world heritage site, where you can rent a Hanbok —the traditional Korean outfit—and feel like a royal from the Joseon Dynasty. Don’t miss the Changing of the Guard ceremony; it’s like stepping into a time capsule! You’ll also get to experience Bukchon Hanok Village – one of Korean’s preserved traditional villages.

This is pretty much one of the most popular tours you can possibly grab. You can easily do this on your own as well, but it helps when you have a tour guide to give you some of the history of this palace and surrounding areas.

2. Korean Culinary Experience: Street Food Tour

Korean Egg Bread

A visit to Seoul is incomplete without indulging in some lip-smacking Korean street food . This tour provides you with local guides and takes you through bustling markets like Myeongdong and Gwangjang , where you’ll get to try local cuisine classics like Tteokbokki, Hotteok, and Kimbap.

To be honest, this is one of my favorite day tours in Seoul. There aren’t a lot of food tours available in other parts of Korea, so this is a great stepping stone to knowing what foods to try and eat in South Korea. Korean food is more than just Korean BBQ! So go out there and try some of my favorite dishes that I grew up with.

EMBARK ON A CAPTIVATING NORYANGJIN FISH MARKET TOUR | In Seoul, where you’ll witness a bustling hub of activity and immerse yourself in the vibrant seafood culture of Korea. 7. Seoul Ghost Walking Tour

Ghosts in Seoul? You bet! On this eerie walking tour, you’ll hear legends and stories of Seoul’s haunted past. Wander through dark alleys and learn about the city’s mysteries, myths, and spirits that refuse to rest. This is a great way to get spooked especially during Halloween.

8. Muslim Friendly Tour

Worried about finding Halal options while exploring day tours in Seoul? Worry no more! The Muslim Friendly Tour offers an itinerary that respects Islamic practices, including Halal dining options and prayer spaces. See the sights without the stress!

To be honest, trying to find food tours strictly for Muslims within Korea can be quite difficult, so to see this amazing guided tour being offered and available is amazing. I often get asked what are the options for Muslims in Korea and unfortunately, it’s quite difficult for me to navigate as someone who isn’t. So rely on the experts living in Seoul to provide that information and join this amazing Muslim Tour in Seoul!

9. Cooking Experience + Mangwon Market Tour

This 5 star cooking experience is one that shouldn’t be missed! Unleash your inner chef in this interactive cooking experience! 11. Nami Island, Petite France, Garden of the Morning Calm and Gangchon Rail Bike , Your Nature Escape from Seoul

Nami Island in Winter

This is one of the best Seoul day trips that offer you a breath of fresh air—literally! Imagine pedaling down old train tracks with the wind in your hair at Gangchon, surrounded by lush landscapes that look like they’re straight out of a painting. It’s probably one of the most booked tours you can get because of all the popular destinations. The garden of Morning Calm is a beautiful garden, especially during Christmas in Korea . Nami Island is an island where you can literally see all 4 seasons change. One of my favorite things to do in Korea is ride the Gangon Rail Bike, it’s a unique experience that you should try at least once.

And let’s not forget the fairy-tale charm of Nami Island, with its towering tree lanes, romantic walkways, and even ostriches prancing around. It’s as if Mother Nature herself decided to bless this tiny island. Whether you’re traveling with family, your special someone, or just your adventurous self, this combo is a serene yet exciting way to experience the Korean countryside. Nami island is where many K-Drama movies were filmed and is a popular tourist location, especially during autumn in Korea . This should be added to your Seoul itinerary .

12. Get Your Adrenaline Pumping: DMZ Tours

Remanents of the Train on tracks at the DMZ in South Korea

One of the most recommended tours on GetYourGuide is the DMZ (Korean Demilitarized Zone) tour. It’s an eye-opener that offers a glimpse into the tension between North and South Korea. The DMZ tour includes stops at the 3rd Tunnel, the Freedom Bridge, and the Dora Observatory. A must for anyone interested in geopolitics or history!

This is one of the best things to do in Paju as it has a lot of history. The DMZ has a lot of interesting information and can provide you with some insight into exactly what has happened. Due to the war, many Koreans had escaped from North Korea and a lot of family members in Korea still have family in North Korea that they haven’t been able to see for decades. You can choose between a full day tour or half-day tour. Some tours include the JSA (joint security area) while others do not – this is one thing to consider as it’s definitely an area that shouldn’t be missed.

Suggested DMZ Tours

  • JSA DMZ Tour
  • Half Day DMZ Tour

First, you’ll explore the stunning landscapes of Pocheon Art Valley—an abandoned quarry-turned art space. Then, bask in the aromatic bliss of Herb Island, filled with themed gardens and magical evening lights. Nature and art have never blended so beautifully.

Pocheon Art Valley is a beautiful place to check out and you can easily take the tram up to the location and see these beautiful rocky features. Herb Island not too far from Pocheon Art Valley is a great place to see some lights and take photos. Many K-Dramas were filmed here because of the beautifully designed backdrops. During summer, it’s a great place to see the lavender.

14. Korean Folk Village and Everland Day Tour

Everland

From the past to the present, experience the full spectrum of Korean culture. Begin your day at the Korean Folk Village, where you can immerse yourself in the traditions and crafts of yesteryears. Then hop over to Everland, Korea’s largest theme park, for some high-adrenaline fun.

Everland is great for older kids as there aren’t as many rides available for younger children, however, there are still a few available and an amazing zoo exclosure to see the different exotic animals. You can get some delicious Korean park food, ride some large wooden rollercoasters, drink beer, and take many photos as well.

15. Suwon Hwaseong Folk Village Tour

Unlock the secrets of the Joseon Dynasty with a visit to Suwon Hwaseong Folk Village. 19. Jeonju Hanok Village, Jangtaesan & Daedunsan Tour from Seoul

Jeonju Hanok Village from Above with all the Traditional Buildings in the Distance

If you are traveling during autumn or winter, this is a great Seoul day tour to take especially for nature lovers. It’s also amazing to take outside of those time frames as well, but you’ll really get to see the beauty of Korea during those times of the year.

Your journey starts with Jeonju Hanok Village – one of the best places to visit in Korea, where traditional Korean houses, known as Hanok, line the streets like a scene from a historical drama. But keep those cameras ready, because next up is Jangtaesan—home to luscious forests and eco-friendly attractions. And for the grand finale? Daedunsan, where suspension bridges and cable cars await, offers sweeping views of the mountainous landscape. From history to heights, this tour has it all. You’re not just sightseeing; you’re soul-searching in the heart of Korea.

Getting around Seoul

We made our way around Seoul through a mix of the subway, walking, and the occasional taxi. We also rented a car in South Korea , starting in Seoul to explore the rest of country. We also had a rental car for a few days in Seoul. This isn’t a necessity, however, it did let us visit some of the difficult-to-reach areas of Seoul, including the mountains.

Getting from Seoul Incheon: with a journey time of 43 minutes, the AREX train is the fastest way to get from Incheon Airport to Seoul Station. It’s also easy to grab a cab at the airport. A train ticket is less than US$10 compared to around US$70 for a taxi – check prices now!

Day 1: Hanboks, palaces and the Bukchon Hanbok Village

Day 1 is dedicated to palaces and tradition!

Start the day by renting a Hanbok, the colorful and traditional Korean dress. Many visitors to Seoul rent a Hanbok and it is common to see the 1,600-year-old dress on the streets of the city. It’s a fun way to explore the historic side of Seoul and makes for great memories and photos! We had so much fun and highly recommend dedicating a day to hanbok rental in Seoul!

Seoul itinerary tip : Entry to the five Grand Palaces is free when dressed in a Hanbok.

Seoul itinerary

We used the Klook app to reserve our hanboks and saved almost 50% on the in-store price. There are lots of shops offering hanbok rental in Seoul but we highly recommend this Hanbok rental store located in Gyeongbokgung. The location is perfect as it’s close to the Bukchon Hanok Village and the Gyeongbokgung and Changdeokgung Palaces. The selection of clothes is extensive – we were able to find awesome hanboks for men, women and kids – check prices now!

After dressing up in the Hanbok, the first stop is Gyeongbokgung Palace, the largest of the Five Grand Palaces of Seoul. The palaces were built by the Joseon Dynasty and a visit to at least one is an essential part of any Seoul itinerary. The palace grounds are beautiful and twice daily, at 10am and 2pm, the Changing of the Guard ceremony takes place at the Gwanghwamun main gate.

From Gyeongbokgung, walk to the Bukchon Hanok Village, a traditional Korean village with Korean houses dating back to the Joseon Dynasty. Given the history and its picturesque streets, the Bukchon Hanok Village is one of the most popular areas to visit for those renting hanboks.

Seoul itinerary

Before returning the Hanboks, make a stop at Changdeokgung Palace, another of the Grand Palaces and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The palace and the grounds are beautiful.

Day 2: DMZ (The Korean Demilitarized Zone)

A day trip to the DMZ from Seoul is a fascinating experience and one undertaken by many visitors to the city. The 4km wide area was founded in 1953, at the end of the Korean War, and runs along the border of North and South Korea. The DMZ is only accessible through a tour. It offers a glimpse into North Korea with stops at the infiltration tunnel, Freedom House (JSA/Panmunjom tour), the Dora Observatory and the Bridge of No Return.

Visitors can opt for a DMZ tour , a JSA tour or a tour which covers both the DMZ and the JSA.

  • JSA Tour: the JSA, or the Joint Security Area, is known as Panmunjom and includes Freedom House which acts as a meeting place between North and South Korea. Day 3: Myeongdong, Fried Chicken and N Seoul Tower

Start the day with a stroll along the arty walkway which runs alongside the Cheonggyecheon Stream. The stream runs for miles through North Seoul and the walkway passes under 22 bridges. Our favourite spot was the umbrella-covered plaza close to City Hall and J loved watching the fish and ducks along the way! Spring Tower, the Candlelight Fountain and the stepping stone are also highlights of the walk.

Seoul itinerary

Aim to exit the stream walk close to Seoul City Hall and make a quick visit to its vertical gardens before grabbing a quick pic at the I Seoul U sign in the adjoining Seoul Plaza.

Seoul itinerary

Next is Myeongdong, a chaotic and fun neighbourhood filled with quirky shops and great food options. Our Myeongdong essentials are:

  • Style Nanda: pink and quirky makeup and clothing store made up of 7 stores. The giant pink pillows and parasols on the rooftop make for great pics

Seoul itinerary

  • BHC fried chicken : Chimaek, or fried chicken and beer, is a Seoul speciality and BHC is an awesome spot in Myeongdong

Seoul itinerary

  • Cosmetic stores: Korea is famous for its skincare and make-up products and Myeongdong is home to many of the best brands
  • Street Food : food carts line the streets of Myeongdong. Our favourite is the 2-foot ice cream!

After exploring Myeongdong, the next stop is Namdaemun Market. The market is the largest traditional market in Korea and the street stall are brimming with souvenirs, clothes, luggage, accessories, stationery and toys. Seoul itinerary

It’s a short jaunt from Namdaemum to the iconic N Seoul Tower and just before sunset is the perfect time to arrive. The N Seoul Tower can be reached by walking, cable car or bus. We recommend walking through the beautiful Namsan Park if you have time.

The N Seoul Tower is one of the most recognisable sights in Seoul. The observatory has fantastic panoramic views of the city and it is one of the best photo locations in Seoul . There’s also a love locks tree and a Hello Kitty house to visit.

Seoul itinerary tip: If you plan to visit the N Seoul Tower itself, make sure to book you tickets in advance on Klook which has a decent discount on most entry tickets, including N Seoul Tower – check prices here!

Everland is the largest theme park in South Korea and is hugely popular. It has five sections offering attractions which include adrenaline-inducing rides and a Safari World. Everland is easily accessible via a shuttle bus from Seoul.

We opted for Lotte World which consists of Lotte World Adventure, the biggest indoor amusement park in the world, and the outdoor Magic Island which is located on a man-made lake. It’s thrilling and magical in equal measures. Lotte World is a great winter theme park given its indoor section. Lotte World is located within Seoul.

Day 8: Jogyesa Temple, Jongmyo Shrine and Insadong

Start the day with a visit to the Jongmyo Shrine, a Confucian shrine in memory of the kings and queens of the Korean Joseon Dynasty. The shrine is one of South Korea’s 13 UNESCO World Heritage sites.

We recommend visiting on a guided tour day as the tour gives a great explanation of the history and significance of the site. The most impressive of the buildings is the long Ancestral Hall which is the last stop on the tour.

Seoul itinerary tip: Visits to the Jongmyo Shrine are by guided tour only except for Saturdays when visitors can explore themselves. We had to wait a little while to join an English speaking tour as they start every two hours. Japanese and Korean tours are scheduled more frquently. The Jongmyo Shrine is closed on Tuesdays.

Seoul itinerary

Spend the afternoon in the ever popular Insadong neigbourhood. It’s famous for offering a glimpse into the traditional culture of Korea and the streets are lined with souvenir shops, food stalls and wooden tea houses. The nearby Ikseondong, one of the oldest neigbourhoods in Seoul, is another must visit filled with quirky shops and hip eateries.

Seoul itinerary

The Alive Museum is a fun stop n Insadong. It is a 4D museum full of optical illusions and peculiar art with a fun Dynamic Maze challenge  –  check prices here!

Seoul itinerary

Finish up the day with a visit to the Jogyesa Temple which is the centre of Korean Buddhism. The temple is colourful and beautiful and the grounds contains ancient trees which are 500 years old as well as fun statutes which won’t fail to bring a smile to your face.

Seoul itinerary tip: we visited during the annual flower festival in October and the grounds were incredible. There were hedges sculpted into Buddha’s, elepahants and dragons. If you visit during the Buddha’s birthday or the Lotus Lantern Festival the temple courtyard is decorated with paper lanterns making for a spectacular scene.

Daniel was an amazing guide. A truly caring person who wants his travelers to maximise their travel experience. He's always happy, joyful and lots of positive energy bursting at the rim. He knows his history well and we learned so much from him. The last night's dinner was like high school graduation when we all didn't want to part ways. Even if it was already so late at night and Daniel almost missed his last train home, he stuck with us to the last minutes saying our sad goodbyes to all our newfound friends through G Adventures. And...... Daniel is a rock star at karaoke night!! We never laughed so hard in our life. What an great CEO. What a great group of amazing people. Thank you so much. Daniel, just a piece of advise which you already know because we have actually told you..... Please slow down, it's so hard to catch up with you and your fast walking pace. Hahaha. Take care and all the best.

12-Day South Korea Adventure: From Seoul to Jeju Island

I had the most incredible time in such a fantastic country! I visited during Autumn, so the weather and fall foliage is just stunning during this time, which added to the whole experience. My highlights included exploring Bukchon Hanok Village in Seoul, hiking in Seorkasan National Park in Sokcho, and visiting Haedong Yonggungsa Temple in Busan. I fell in love with South Korea and I can't wait to go back! Thank you to The Dragon Trip!!

It was a great tour. We learned so much about history and culture of this beautiful country. Our tour director Jay was excellent. He work very hard from early morning to late night. He always was with group explaining every destination we were going to. Our driver was excellent too. Jay always was on the top of situations, trying to accommodate each of us. Food was great and very delicious. I would recommend Hanatours and TOURradar to anyone. Thank you for great vacation and unforgettable memories.

The tour was well planned and executed. The hotel rooms were a lower level than we have become accustomed on other tours of this nature. The meals at lunch and breakfast were excellent. Although the tour director knew the history and aspects of the places we experienced, we were afforded very little time exploring and learning. The few times we were released to do this were very welcome. The sights and choices of events were excellent.

A trip of a lifetime !!. We had the most incredible tour guide Damien who has the most warm energy always willing to answer and help out. The intenary was amazing as well I feel that there was something for everyone. I only wished we would have done the cruise to Jeju island and spent more time there but of course, I think that the flight arrangement after it wasn't possible was prompt and very efficient. I enjoyed this trip and feel very lucky to have had the most incredible professional and fun tour guide who we will always remember and a lovely tour group.

Soulful South Korea Tour

Soulful South Korea

The 10 day Soulful Korea tour was fast paced with a LOT of walking and hill climbing. If you are in at least average physical condition, you should ne able to enjoy the events. The tour events start the same day as the meeting, be prepared to take that first hike. From there you will see many historical and cultural sites in various cities around S. Korea. We had an AWESOME tour guide, Sam Kim. He was very informative regarding historical and cultural locations and events. He provided a bond with the travel group and made us all closer as the trip continued.

Day 1 Arrive in Seoul Arrive in Seoul/Incheon, South Korea and transfer to our hotel. Seoul is a city of contrasts. In this rapidly evolving metropolis, the traditional exists with the modern in a state of harmony. For over 500 years the seat of Joseon Dynasty kings, Seoul is now the beating heart of modern Korea, the centre to which all else in the country is drawn. Overnight in Seoul. Included Meal(s): Dinner

Day 2 Seoul: The DMZ & Seoul City Touring This morning we hit the ground running with a full highlight-packed day. After an early departure we travel along the Jayuro (Freedom Road) to Imjingak, the northernmost point bordering North Korea.* On the way, we will be able to view barbed wire fences and military guards on duty all the way along the river. At Imjingak, we visit the Mangbaedan Memorial ritual altar which was established in 1985 for those who were separated from their families or displaced from home during the Korean War. It is a symbolic spot used to hold traditional memorial services for ancestors or to pray for separated family members living in the North and for reunification of the country. We will see the Freedom Bridge, the very locale where 12,773 Korean War prisoners walked to freedom to South Korea in 1953. We then board a tour bus that will take us to the 3rd infiltration tunnel dug up by North Koreans. On the 20-minute ride to the tunnel, we pass through the check points, military camps, and mine fields. Before going down to the tunnel, we will view a short video presentation and visit exhibition hall for information on the divided Koreas. A seven-minute tram ride (if available) or a walk down a steep access through a narrow and steep interception tunnel, leads us to the lower platform, a point where we are only 170 meters from the Military Demarcation Line. Our next stop is the Dora Observatory where we can see the whole expanse of the Demilitarized Zone, North Korean propaganda village, Gijeong-dong, where the world's largest flag hangs on a 160 meter-tall flagpole, South Korea's northernmost village of Daeseong-dong and Panmunjom where the ceasefire that ended hostilities was signed. We return to Seoul in time for a break for lunch in Insadong, a lively district known for it's vast array of restaurants, small museums, and shopping. Insadong was originally two towns whose names ended in the syllables "In" and "Sa". They were divided by a stream which ran along Insadong's current main street. Insadong began 500 years ago as an area of residence for government officials. Today Insadong has some of the tastiest food vendors in all of Seoul. One of the main attractions in the area is the ‘Kings Dessert’ or the ‘Dragons Beard Candy’, 16,000 strings of honey wrapped multiple times with a flavouring of either almond, peanut or chocolate on the inside. There are also gooey pancakes and spicy Korean dumplings to sample. From here we proceed to the War Memorial of Korea, an excellent tie-in with what we experienced at the DMZ. This huge museum documents the history of the Korean War (1950–53) with documentary footage (with English commentary) of the main battles and events. Along with photos, maps and artefacts, the films give a fascinating insight into what the war was like. There's also plenty of military hardware outside – tanks, helicopters, missiles and planes, plus stirring war memorials. * Due to an ever-changing security situation, our activities today may be altered, re-routed, or curtailed without notice. Overnight in Seoul. Included Meal(s): Breakfast and Dinner

Day 3 Seoul: City Touring This morning we start with a visit to Gyeongbokgung Palace, where we plan to arrive in time for the very colourful changing-of-the-guard ceremony. Of all the tourist attractions in Seoul, the Joseon Dynasty Palaces and, particularly Gyeongbokgung Palace, are the most tangible link between modern Korea and its not-too-distant monarchical past. Not merely inert relics, they are symbols of a deep history and rich culture. Although substantially reduced in number, the remaining palace buildings provide a glimpse of traditional architecture and the overall organization of a palace grounds. As part of our visit, we also include the National Folk Museum, contained within the palace. This excellent museum presents historical artifacts that were used in the daily lives of Korean people in the past. Through the displays, visitors can learn about the domestic and agricultural lifestyles, as well as Korea’s cultural beliefs. After a break for lunch, we proceed to Jongmyo, a royal shrine dedicated to the performance of ancestral rites for the deceased kings and queens of the Joseon Dynasty. Being the place where the royal ancestral tablets are enshrined, Jongmyo's atmosphere is solemn and sacred rather than splendid like the royal palaces. The simple and elegant buildings of this shrine have faithfully kept their original forms since the 16th century. We finish our day at Namsan Seoul Tower, built in 1969 as Korea's first integrated transmission tower beaming television and radio broadcasts across the capital. Since opening to the public in 1980, it has become a much-loved Seoul landmark. The tower's main attractions include multi-coloured digital art projected onto the tower at night, a digital observatory, a roof terrace, and a number of viewing platforms where visitors can enjoy the cityscape. 32 LCD screens recount the 600-year history of Seoul. This evening we'll have our dinner at the top of the tower and enjoy a typical Korean meal and nighttime views of the city. Overnight in Seoul. Included Meal(s): Breakfast and Dinner

Day 4 Seoul - Fly to Jeju Island This morning we transfer to the airport for our short flight to Jeju Island. Jeju Island, also known as the "Island of the Gods," is a popular vacation spot for Koreans and foreigners; indeed it remains the top honeymoon destination for Korean newlyweds. The island is known for beaches, rugged coastal scenery, volcanic geography, and a unique culture which stands in stark contrast to the mainland (and much of Asia) as being matriarchal. Stemming from this basis, and some odd tax reasons, the role of seafood gathering on the island has been dominated by women. As such, a common sight around Jeju's coastline is that of the "haenyo" or "woman diver", a figure that has become somewhat iconic of the island. After our arrival we'll have a break for lunch and then visit the informative Folklore and History Museum, an excellent introduction to the island. Flight/arrival time-permitting, we can also visit Yakcheonsa Buddhist Temple, a relatively new structure built in the style of Buddhist temples of the early Joseon Dynasty. Overnight on Jeju Island. Included Meal(s): Breakfast and Dinner

Day 5 Jeju Island Touring Early this morning we head to Sunrise Peak for a spectacular view of/from this unique caldera/mountain and surrounds. After a break for lunch we'll visit the Jeju Haenyeo Museum, dedicated to the women divers of Jeju before heading to Ilchul Land, a park offering themed gardens, sculptures, and walks in Micheon Cave, a large lava tunnel. Jeju has an extensive system of lava tubes, natural conduits through which magma once flowed, now empty caves that are some of the largest in the world. The insides of the tube is adorned with multi-coloured carbonate decorations and innumerable cave formations commonly found in lava tubes. They include lava stalactites and lava stalagmites, lava columns, lava flowstone, lava helictites and lava blister, cave corals, benches, lava raft, lava bridges, lava shelves and striations. Our last stop is Dol Hareubang, a small park featuring stone sculptures associated with local legends, plus a traditional garden. Overnight on Jeju. Included Meal(s): Breakfast and Dinner

Day 6 Jeju Island - Fly to Busan: City Touring This morning we fly to Busan, South Korea's second largest city and largest seaport. Busan is known for its beaches, hot springs, nature reserves, and events such as the city's renowned international film festival held each fall. Busan is a good destination for those seeking a more laid back atmosphere than Seoul. Located at the southern tip of the Korean Peninsula, Busan's important port gives the city an international flair, with sailors from around the world trooping through and a growing number of tourists. On arrival we'll visit the Gamcheon Cultural Village (a UNESCO site), spread out in a panorama of endless rows of low-rise cubicle homes climbing up the steep hillsides, earning it the nickname "Santorini of the East." The cheerful blue, yellow and pink hues a delight to the eye. Narrow stone and concrete alleyways wind their way through the homes, yielding something new at every turn. The village used to house the city’s poorest people, but during the Korean War, refugees fled their homes for Busan, which was the only area which was free from fighting. We'll head to the Jagalchi Fish Market for a break for lunch, followed by a visit to the impressive UN Cemetery. Overnight in Busan. Included Meal(s): Breakfast and Dinner

Day 7 Busan: Gyeongju Excursion This morning we head out of the city to Gyeongju, located on Korea's southeast coast. This was the capital of the 1,000-year Silla dynasty, and is known for its extensive historical remains. We'll visit the 8th-century Bulguksa Temple featuring twin stone pagodas, a series of wooden staircases, and a large bronze Buddha. Afer a break for lunch in Hwanglidan-gil we'll continue to Tumuli Park, which contains 23 of the over 200 royal tombs found in Gyeongju. At times, the sense of history, and of secrets buried along with the royals, is almost palpable in the quiet between the large grass-covered mounds. We'll visit Cheomseongdae, the oldest astronomical observatory in all of Asia The 362 stones that make up the 27-level structure represent each day of the lunar year. Built during the reign of Shilla Queen Seon-deok, it was used for observing the stars in order to forecast the weather. Our last stops include Gyeongju National Museum, largely devoted to relics of the Silla Kingdom; and Donggung Palace and Wolji Pond, once part of the palace complex of ancient Silla. Return to Busan. PLEASE NOTE: owing to the length of the day and the probability of a busy trave day tomorrow, your Tour Leader may choose to include lunch today and leave dinner to yourselves this evening. Overnight in Busan. Included Meal(s): Breakfast and Dinner

Day 8 Departure from Busan Departure from Busan. BON VOYAGE!! Included Meal(s): Breakfast

Inclusions Breakfast and dinner (mostly at local restaurants) are included daily. All transport, accommodation, sightseeing and entrance fees for sites noted as 'visited' in the detailed itinerary. Gratuities for restaurant staff, porters, local guides. Airport transfers for land & air customers and for early arriving/late departing land & air customers who book their extra hotel nights through us.

Exclusions International airfare to/from the tour. Tour Leader gratuities. Lunches, drinks, personal items (phone, laundry, etc), domestic and international (if applicable) air taxes, and any excursions referenced as 'optional'. Airport transfers for Land Only customers. Optional trip cancellation insurance. Our post-reservation trip notes offer further guidance on shopping, not included meals.

Seasonality and Weather Spring can expect warm temperatures with moderate humidity. March/April dates can expect daytime high temperatures of about 17-21C (63-68 F), with chilly mornings and evenings. Our fall departure coincides with the beginning of the drier time of year and cool temperatures with highs ranging 15-18 C (60-66 F). Rain showers can occur at any time, though their likelihood decreases the later we get into the fall. Our fall date is set to coincide with autumn leaf colour, though this varies from year to year.

Transport and Travel Conditions We rate this tour difficulty 'Level 2', which relates mostly to some full days of travel, uneven surfaces, and plenty of time on your feet. Our pace is leisurely, but we have some full days of activities and have multiple walking tours of sites for several hours. We also have short walks to/from dinner at the end of our days. We do, however, time the tour for times when heat is not a factor. Our accommodations are comfortable and there will likely be baggage handling assistance to/from your room. There is also a very strong culinary element to this trip. Breakfasts feature Asian as well as Western items, but our dinners out at local restaurants will feature a wide range of local specialties. Eating is very much a cultural experience in this part of the world, and this aspect of our program is an integral part of the overall experience. Though individual tastes and requirements will be taken into account by your leader who will be organizing our evening meals on-the-go, if you are strictly a meat-and-potatoes person, or a strict vegan/gluten-free etc, you may find your preferences significantly challenged on this tour.
