Your Guide to Skiing Alone This Winter: How to Have an Epic Solo Adventure

solo ski tour

There’s nothing like a ski trip to bring friends and family together. But if you’re like me and your love of skiing isn't quenched with one trip, then it might be time to plan a ski trip by yourself.

Taking a solo ski trip isn’t for everyone, but for those truly passionate about skiing, a one-person trip can make for a truly epic adventure. There are pros and cons to undertaking a solo travel ski trip and precautions to be taken.

How To Know If A Solo Trip Is Right For You

Some people reading this will probably already have a good idea of whether taking a solo ski trip is right for them. But even if the thought of such a vacation causes a big flashing green light in your head, there are a few factors to consider before taking the plunge.

A solo ski trip differs from spending a weekend in Paris or New York alone. At the risk of stating the obvious, the nature of a ski trip is very different compared to a few days spent visiting museums, seeing historic sites, and dining at restaurants.

In assessing whether a solo skip trip is right for you, you’ll have to consider your skiing ability, how you like to spend your ski days, and whether you generally like to travel alone.

Advice: If the thought of a solo trip triggers more anxiety than excitement, it's probably best to wait till you can ski with friends.

You Need To Be Comfortable On Skis

downhill skier

The most important question to ask yourself if you’re thinking about going on a one-man ski trip is whether you feel safe and comfortable while skiing. If you haven’t spent a day on the mountain by yourself, you might not be ready to take an entire trip independently.

If you’re still learning to ski , you probably should not consider taking a solo trip. Skiing can be challenging to learn, and even if you plan on taking lessons , it’s best to have friends who can help you along the way. So if you’re new to the sport, hold off on that solo trip till you’ve had a few with friends.

Safety , as always, is a paramount concern. Skiing can be dangerous and it’s much better to have friends or family nearby should you need to seek medical attention. For those reasons, skiers lacking confidence in their abilities should always travel with others.

We’ve written in the past about the perils and positives of skiing alone . Even if you are an expert and totally comfortable busting turns by yourself, you should avoid tackling extreme terrain while on a solo trip. It’s better to have a support system near at hand when doing anything in the backcountry or far outside your comfort zone.

Ask Yourself Whether You Can Be Happy On Your Own

Grindelwald winter

So you feel safe and comfortable skiing by yourself. Does that mean an unchaperoned ski vacation is right for you? Well, there are a couple of other factors beyond safety and ability.

If you’re not keen on solo traveling in general, you probably won’t have a blast taking a ski trip by yourself. Needless to say, you have to be okay with alone time to enjoy a solo trip.

But even if you’ve had great experiences roaming the world by yourself, know that ski trips are different.

Even if you love to ski by yourself, know that a ski trip isn’t all about skiing. You can only spend so many hours on the mountain and afterward, you’ll have to find your own ways to rest and recharge.

Though you might meet strangers on the mountain or out on the town, any solo skier will experience plenty of alone time. For some, this can get quite lonely.

Think about the best ski trips you’ve had. Are your fondest memories of skiing, or is your smile brighter when you think about delicious dinners and decadent après drinks with friends? If it’s the latter, you might want to hold off on planning that solo trip.

The Adventure Begins Where Your Comfort Zone Ends

powder-skis

All that said, my experience tells me that solo trips can be the most rewarding. If you’ve ever spent a day out by yourself, you’ve tasted the freedom and may well want more.

Most people prefer to ski with a partner or a group, but when your friends ski at different ability levels or prefer different kinds of terrain, this can raise all sorts of issues. Skiing alone does away with all that.

The benefits are amplified when it comes to taking a whole trip alone as there’s no need to make compromises about which resort or range you want to visit.

Organizing Your Solo Trip

Pink Ski Clothing

Practically speaking, planning a ski trip for one is a bit different than organizing a group affair. Lodging will be your most significant difference, but it’s also worth considering how you’ll stay fed and fresh.

You’ll obviously want smaller accommodation when going alone. Hostels are the ideal solution for solo skiers looking to save. Not all resorts will have a hostel near the slopes , but they are mainstays in much of the Alps and an expanding norm in North America.

Make sure your resort of choice has a hostel or affordable hotel rooms which are suitable for single travelers. If you’re not planning to eat out or aren’t comfortable sitting and restaurants by yourself, make sure to bring plenty of snacks and look into whether your lodging has a kitchen you can use.

Take The Requisite Safety Precautions

backcountry skiiing

Comfort aside, your safety should always be priority number one. Given that you’ll be alone, you should be in regular contact with someone back home and make a plan for checking in.

Your friend needs to have your accommodation’s contact information and you should also keep emergency contact information on your person. As always, it’s important to have a charged phone on you at all times should you need to get help in an emergency.

Preparing for the worst, you should also look into what it'll be like if you need medical care. This might mean buying traveler's insurance or just making sure you know how to get to local medical facilities, depending on your location.

Important: Safety comes first and the best way to avoid disaster on skis is to never ski alone.

ski lift chair

If you find yourself riding the lift with someone with similar skiing ability, why not do some runs together? This will be a huge benefit in case of an injury and can also lead to fun off the mountain if you find yourself a new friend to get drinks or dinner with. Don't worry, you can still tell everyone it was a solo trip!

Tip: For your safety and sanity, meeting up with other skiers is always a good idea. This isn't primary school; you are allowed to talk to strangers.

For the right person, a well-planned solo trip is an epic journey

Colorado Ski Trip

Important: If you’re considering making a solo trip this winter, you need to be a skilled skier and take care to stick to the terrain you’re comfortable tackling. You’ll also want to ask yourself whether this is something you'll enjoy.

Most important of all, take safety precautions such as making arrangements with an emergency contact and learning what to do in the event of injury .

Personally, I’m at my happiest when skiing with a friend of equal ability. But a lot of the time that isn’t an option. It’s nice to have friends and loved ones to come back to after a day on the mountain, but it can be hard for everyone to make time.

At the end of the day, if you can do it safely, a solo ski trip is infinitely better than no ski trip at all. Who knows, it might even be the trip of a lifetime.

Ultimate Singles Ski Holiday Guide

By: Author Amanda OBrien

Posted on Last updated: 17/02/2024

Planning the perfect singles holiday is no easy feat. The only person you have to bounce ideas off is yourself. Plus, you get to make all the decisions. The world is your oyster and this is the best opportunity to tailor the ideal holiday for yourself.

Skiing, and all the mountain top feasting, is a pretty social endeavour. And too often we find ourselves holding back on adventures because family and friends aren’t able to accompany us. But there is no reason why you can’t have the most amazing singles ski holiday. Socializing included!

Are you itching to get into that sweet powder snow? Or want to try skiing for the first time? This solo ski guide is going to help you do just that.

Packed with tips for a singles ski getaway and top destination choices, you’ll be in the mountains in no time.

5 Top Tips for Planning a Solo Ski Holiday

solo skier in green jacket looking over snowy mountains

If you’ve decided to take the leap and plan a singles ski holiday – bravo! It can be daunting to head out on holiday by yourself. But there are a few things you can do to make it as care-free and fun as possible.

Check out my 5 tips for organizing a fantastic solo ski holiday.

1.    Book a Solo Ski Trip with an Operator

Planning a ski holiday can be a lot of work, especially with no one else to share the responsibility. Equipment hire, accommodation, lift passes and trying to squish your huge ski jacket into your bag can be  a schlep.

For a hassle-free experience and the opportunity to meet a cool group of single skiers, book a holiday with a solo-friendly tour operator. There are a number of excellent singles operators who specialize in tailor-made adventures on the slopes through singles travel groups.

2.    Book a Group Ski Lesson

Of course, this tip is aimed at beginners or people wanting to improve their technique. This is an excellent way to make friends on the slopes and find out some expert tips about the best runs.

Group lessons are not only a social experience, but they’re also much cheaper than private lessons. You can spend the pennies you save drinking an après-ski drink with your newly made friends.

Happy friends after skiing sit on snow wave hands

3.    Get Networking

There are plenty of awesome apps, social networking platforms and forums that you can use to connect with like-minded skiers in the mountains. The most obvious one is Facebook, which has a host of ski groups and forums. This is a great way to reach out to people who are in the same area as you.

Check out some singles travel groups to chat with like-minded people, get inspiration and possibly even meet up!

4.    Keep Your Safety in Mind

One of the biggest benefits of skiing with friends is having a safety net in case of emergencies. Even the most experienced skiers should avoid going off-piste alone. Sticking to prepared ski runs ensures that someone will be close by if an accident happens.

Give the front desk of your hotel your number and let them know that you’ll check in with them at the end of the day. The staff will then know to take action if they don’t hear from you. Likewise, you should keep the emergency number of the mountain rescue service if you happen to get lost.

5.    Carefully Consider Destination & Accommodation

Before you book a holiday, think about what you want to get out of this trip. Are you looking for a relaxing holiday with a lot of ‘me time’ and some skiing in between? Do you want a social scene and a typical après-ski holiday? Have you got a tight budget or the desire to lavish yourself in luxury?

There are many unbelievable skiing destinations and accommodation options to suit every travellers needs. Taking the time to figure out your desires and the best destination will guarantee a fantastic singles ski holiday.

Best Singles Ski Holiday Destinations in Europe

If you’ve decided what you want to get out of your ski holiday, this mini destination guide will be the final piece of the puzzle.

Maybe you’re still not sure whether you want to be dancing to electronic music in your ski boots or getting a facial after a day on the slopes? These destinations will give you some inspiration.

Here are my top picks for European solo skiing destinations and the best accommodations in them.

1. Chamonix, France – a Luxury Getaway

There is absolutely no reason why you shouldn’t spoil yourself with all the finest things on a solo trip. If anything, it’s even more reason to have some pampered ‘me-time’.

This world-renowned ski resort sits at the base of Mont Blanc , the highest peak in the Alps. The mountain views are unparalleled and the ski-in ski-out accommodation options are an absolute treat.

For fabulous luxury accommodation designed for singles, try out Cold Fusion’s latest chalet – Chalet Arberons , 5 miles south of Chamonix. It is a ski-in ski-out property which is ideal as you can avoid long queues for the chairlifts and cramped busses. The chalet is kitted out with sauna, jacuzzi and outdoor hot tub, perfect for unwinding at the end of the day.

The surrounding village is picturesque and has everything you need. Bars, restaurants and shops are all within walking distance.

2. Bad Hofgastein, Austria – Intermediate Spa & Ski Holiday

Chances are that you have never heard of this massive ski area and that’s not surprising. Bad Hofgastein flies under the radar of ski destinations despite having 155 miles of off-piste across the Gastein Valley.

This makes it a perfect spot for intermediate skiers who crave a sense of adventure. And those who love a soak in natural thermal pools after a day of skiing.

The spa town is full of activities besides skiing, which is great for a singles trip. It has less of a ski-resort feel and more of a bustling atmosphere with a beautiful valley setting. If you’re someone who wants to enjoy other activities, this is a good choice.

Hotel Alpenhof is an excellent place for solo travellers as they have single rooms and you don’t have to worry about pesky supplement charges. It’s also a 5-minute walk to the Alpentherme Gastein thermal pools and has a sauna and on-site massages.

3. Sauze d’Oulx, Italy – Après-Ski Vacation

The Milky Way Ski area has some pretty amazing skiing areas and resorts. Sauze d’Oulx is definitely the liveliest of villages along this way and is an up and coming après-ski destination.

Not only does it offer  amazing ski runs, but there are also countless bars, clubs and restaurants to party the night away. It is a beautiful combination of a traditional Italian village laced with a vibrant international skiing scene.

Hotel Stella Alpina is perfectly placed in the heart of the village, with the Via Lattea ski lift right next to it. You can roll out of bed, nursing a bit of a hangover, and head right out onto the slopes.

With an on-site restaurant and continental breakfast, you’ll be adequately fueled and ready to dance till you drop.

4. Itter, Austria – Budget Ski Trip

Skiing is a notoriously expensive hobby and a ski holiday can rack up quite the bill. But Itter is definitely one of the most affordable skiing spots in Europe. It is a great destination for beginners and has a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere.

Itter is part of the wider SkiWelt area and lift passes grant access throughout the region. So once you’ve gotten comfortable on the gentle slopes surrounding Itter, you can head further out for more of a challenge.

Keep your costs down by staying at Apartment-Pension Schmiedererhof . It is simple accommodation with everything you need. A massive bonus is that the lift pass is included in the seasonal prices and there is a 5% discount on ski lessons.

There is a free ski bus to and from the slopes and guests receive free entry to the Panorama Badewelt, with indoor and outdoor pools.

If you’re looking for an organised skiing trip specifically for singles check out Mark Warner Holidays . Several friends of mine have been on Mark Warner ski trips as singles and had a great time. And they have chosen to take Mark Warner ski trips again the following year – the ultimate sign of a good holiday.

Get Ready for Your Singles Ski Holiday

Can you smell that fresh mountain air and taste that après-ski drink? Venture out into the world of solo skiing and imagine the experiences that await. Whether you’re a skiing fanatic or a newbie, you have the opportunity to meet a bunch of people through classes, online groups and tours.

If you’re looking to chill out in luxury or party like a bundled-up rockstar, there is a destination fit for you. Pack your bags, don your thermals, squeeze on some ski socks and enjoy an awesome singles ski holiday.

I have to agree that the Chamonix region is one of the best! To be fair, skiing in any of the French resorts is amazing, and the people there are very welcoming to solo skiiers too - I'm sure you could just walk into an apres-ski in one of the restaurants and join a party! (Not during Covid, of course!)

Hi Maria - yes good point re Chamonix and skiing in general at the moment - hopefully this will apply again when the pandemic is over!

On the CLASSIC Dolomites Ski Safari , there are no obligatory black slopes. You can cruise the whole week on nothing more challenging than a red ski slope if you wish! For those seeking a little more, you can take on the ‘Tomba la Bomba’, Vulcano and a number of other great black slopes.

The  VENTURE Dolomites Ski Safari  is a faster pace. We hunt down some cracking Dolomite black ski slopes, look to set a blistering pace and take on all four world cup ski slopes that the Dolomites has to offer.

And how about arriving at your remote rifugio on a snowmobile? Oh, and the skiing is just world-class!

ACCOMMODATION

There is something magical about staying on the mountain; As the other skiers drop back into their valleys and return to their hotels, you pull up a chair, order a drink and allow the mountain tranquillity to wash over you. Watch the sun slide behind the mountain opposite, because, more than likely, you’ll be skiing it tomorrow! Enjoy a quiet social evening in the tranquillity that is as unique as the mountain top that you’re on!

Solo Ski Trip Tips

Take advantage of the singles lift lines.

Skiing alone means you can skip the long lines for the chairlifts by taking advantage of singles’ lift lines for single skiers, meaning you will be able to ski more in less time! You won’t waste any time being able to quickly get to the front of the line for another ride down the snowy slopes.

Ski At Your Own Pace

When you have children, friends, or a significant other with you, getting on and off the mountain can be difficult. Peer pressure to keep up with the group happens when skiing with friends, even if you’re feeling exhausted. This can result in accidents or injuries if you’re not careful.

When skiing alone, you can choose to stop when your body signals you to or even break to have a quick snack without worrying about your friends having to wait on you. You are given the freedom to come and go as you wish when you are skiing alone. Plus you’ll never have to wait on the rest of your party to continue onto the next slope!

Meet New, Awesome People when Skiing Solo

A great way to meet new people while on a solo ski trip is to talk to people on the chairlift. Then, if your skiing skill level is similar, ask them to go down the trail with you! You never know, you might come across other solo skiers and travel lovers who could become friends for life.

Another great way to meet like-minded skiers is to consider taking group lessons if you aren’t already a seasoned skier. Also consider exploring your ski resort’s social scene; you never know where you might find a new friend with shared interests!

Stay Safe when Skiing Solo

Choose to ski solo in a safe environment, such as skiing within the ski resort’s boundaries. This way, there will always be someone close by, whether it’s a team of dedicated ski experts to give you advice and point you in the right direction, or fellow skiers just to chat with. Also, if you do have a fall or an accident, there will be a team of medical help close by and available.

However, if you’re going off-piste or backcountry skiing, it’s better to skip solo skiing; always do these activities with a group of experienced friends.

Make sure to check the weather before going out, since you might have trouble avoiding obstacles if it’s super bright outside or snowing heavily.

Share your ski plans with your family and friends. This will make it easier for them to notify the appropriate authorities in the event of a potential emergency.

Hydrate often. In contrast to a hot day, we may not recognize when it is getting too cold that we are becoming dehydrated. Drinking enough water is an excellent idea before, during, and after a ski session because skiing is a physical workout.

Grab a Resort Map

Figure out the best ways to get around with a map of your ski resort. They usually come in physical copies, or in digital versions such as a PDF download. If the resort has an app, it will usually have a map included. This is a great way to plan your trip easy and stress-free (and will help you to not get lost!).

Purchase Travel Insurance

While snowboarding and skiing are enjoyable, accidents can and do happen, and even the most minor injury may call for a helicopter evacuation from the top of a mountain. It is so important to make sure your travel insurance is purchased and ready to go, just in case. Some travel insurance providers don’t cover adventure activities, so make sure to check first if skiing/snowboarding is included. Our TierOne Travel Specialists can help you purchase and arrange the right coverage for you.

Single Ski Holidays

If you are an adventure seeker when it comes to skiing and like to hit the slopes alone or it's a sport where you dedicate time for yourself, then solo ski holidays are not to be missed.

Reach destinations you hadn’t perhaps considered before when travelling with others. Singles ski holidays provide you with so many opportunities, from a schedule designed solely around you due to the freedom a solo ski holiday provides. To the chance to make new friends as you mingle during après hour or buddy up during your ski lesson.

Solo ski holidays

The freedom:

  • Plan your own schedule for the week so every day of skiing is centred around what you want to gain from it - whether you fancy a ski lesson in the morning, to finish early and enjoy some afternoon après with newly made friends or you want to head out for a full day on the slopes - time is yours.
  • Take a break as and when you like, you are on your own time so if you fancy a mountain side coffee break or to finish the slopes in time for a leisurely lunch in resort , then the choice is yours.
  • Dine every day at your favourite cuisine stops. No need to worry about pleasing a group, the choice is yours. Meaning if you want to try a new place for dinner every night, you can or if you find the best meal in town, you can dine there every night.

Discovery & Growth:

  • Go at your own speed when solo skiing. There is no pressure to keep pace (or slow down) when it’s all about your own skills. Plan your preferred routes each day and enjoy the chance to discover new runs.
  • Perfect your skills in your own time, find that run that you feel challenges you and master it. There is no time pressure as it’s only you, so you can ascend, ski and repeat until you feel confident. If you need a little advice or would like to learn some new ski skills, you can opt to book a private ski lesson, just one to one with a ski instructor.
  • Choose your activities based on what you want to achieve from your week on the slopes. You may be there to push your limits and hit the slopes every day. You could also be looking to branch out and try a bit of cross-country skiing or a snowboarding lesson - you create the schedule as a solo skiing.

Meet & Mingle:

  • Solo skiing doesn’t mean you have to hit the mountains alone, joining a ski guiding tour is a great way to ski with others, enjoy guided routes and have company when pausing for lunch.
  • If you are new to skiing or snowboarding, then joining a ski school for some group lessons is the best choice. Not only can you learn from your instructor but also from others in the group, as well as meet some friendly faces each day who you then may spend your afternoons mastering the slopes with.
  • The great thing about the sport of skiing is the large après ski culture . No matter the resort you’ve chosen for your solo ski escape, there is always a chance to mingle over drinks, often starting in the afternoon and carrying on until the early hours. You will always find a bar, hotel lobby or even nightclub with plenty of like minded travellers.
  • Accommodation options can also offer a great way to meet like minded skiers. Opting to stay in our catered chalets with others gives you a chance to enjoy breakfast with conversation and evenings discussing routes.

Solo ski deals:

  • Solo skiing doesn't need to cost you more, which is often the preconception but not always the case.
  • Inghams offers a selection of single skier accommodation with no supplement for travelling solo as part of the ski package.

Solo ski holidays FAQ:

How do you book a solo ski holiday.

A solo trip can take many forms and based on your priorities, we will help book the best holiday for you. Contact us and let us know what you’re looking to do.

How much is a solo ski holiday?

Twin or double rooms for single occupancy do usually come with a supplement. The most cost-effective approach is to try and find a single room, either in a chalet , or more likely a hotel . We would recommend booking early to avoid missing out. Other factors such as resort, country and accommodation standard/type all play a part so get in contact with us for accurate pricing. The more flexible you are, the cheaper the holiday can be.

Can I go skiing alone?

Of course! Nothing is stopping you going off skiing on your own, but skiing offers a great shared experience for mixing and meeting a like-minded bunch. Consider signing up to group lessons or guiding.

Do be safe, though. For example, going off-piste on your own is a serious risk even if you’re highly experienced. Make sure you get a guide.

Where is the best place to go on a ski holiday solo?

The most popular resorts for solo skiers tend to be places that have a great town feel or inclusive atmosphere. It makes finding a ski group easier (if you want one) and having a true town, like Chamonix , gives lots of options for when you’re off the slopes.

Popular resorts for solo skiers are Morzine , Meribel , Chamonix Les Houches , Tignes (France), Zell Am See , Mayrhofen , Söll , Niederau and St Anton (Austria).

If you’re looking to interact with others, a shared chalet can be a blessing with everyone eating together and coming together in the evenings. Club Med ski holidays are also a popular choice for solo skiers - book yourself into one of the (included) lessons or guiding sessions to ski with others in the day then arrange to meet your group in the bar or restaurant in the evening.

SingleSport will find you someone to share with so there will be no single supplement. Almost all the rooms we offer are twins with en suite facilities not triples and quads that many companies use. As most rooms are built for shared occupancy we ask our tour operators to charge a reasonable supplement to those who choose to take a twin room for single occupancy.

In 2023/4 ski season we have single rooms as well as shared  available in Les Arcs, La Rosiere and La Plagne.

Kaprun, Courchevel and Arabba  still  have shared rooms available but singles have sold ou.

We never add the single supplement into the base price and then tell you it’s a single room without supplement unless it really is!

We Choose The Best Tour Operators

SingleSport is like a ski club, offering group ski holidays for  solo travellers. We are free to choose  holidays with whichever tour operator we think is best which means that we can offer ski holidays and snowboarding holidays for solo travellers in several resorts.

Whilst SingleSport does all the booking and creates the group your money goes direct to the tour operator so that your contract is with them.

You can choose whether to take part and as they return for lunch it is possible to have an easy afternoon if you wish.

In March we have our guided holiday in the Dolomites. You can leave the map reading to our qualified instructors

SingleSport Ski Holidays 2024/25

SingleSport summer beach clubs give a huge choice of activities on land, water and in deckchairs!  The price include half board, flight & all the activities.

Group Ski holidays and Snowboard Holidays for Solo Travellers

We do not travel every week because we try to have larger groups (30-80 solo skiers and snowboarders) to enable you to find like-minded friends who ski or apres or sun just the way you do, this opportunity would be limited in smaller groups. Some start early, some prefer a lie in. Some want lessons some do not. Some are technical sportsmen whilst others think skis are to enable them to join up restaurants and summer sun is best spent in deckchairs! SingleSport caters for us all.

SingleSport has a wide range of ages, whilst the majority might be over 40 there are many older and younger from 20s to 70s. Sport is a great leveller and we find that friendships have more to do with sporting ability than age, until it’s time to go out at night and that’s very different! Some curl up with cocoa (well OK wine then!) whilst others are out on the town.

Sociable Singles Holidays

SingleSport makes it easy to meet new friends. Before we leave the UK you will get a list of guests on your holiday so you can introduce yourself to those who live nearby and may share a car to the airport and parking costs if you are on the same flight. On our smaller holidays where we have 20 or 30 guests it’s easy to meet everyone in the hotel but in Courchevel where we often have over 80 guests in several chalets it is a social whirl! About 60% of guests are repeats and so they will introduce newcomers to friends they met in previous years. By going to lessons you get to meet guests staying in other chalets who ski exactly the way you do and who you can free ski with at your pace after the lesson. Of course there are drinks parties and other social events during the week too, you can party as much or as little as you choose.

Personal Booking Service Ruth, who founded SingleSport, still offers a personal service. Booking a solo ski holiday can be a risky business and everyone has different criteria and different levels of experience and expectations. Some people fly every day of the week on business whilst others may never have booked their own flight before. Some are expert skiers whilst others are beginners. Whatever your worry you can talk to Ruth on email or telephone before you book to make sure the holiday will be right for you. Ruth will know who has already booked and will usually be on the holiday herself to make sure that all the promises are lived up to!

I’m travelling solo – who will I be skiing with? You’ll be with other independent skiers in a small but exclusive group of no more than 8, plus your dedicated ski instructor for the week.

How will I know where I am going?  No piste maps required on our tours!

We’ll have done all the planning and assessed the weather and conditions prior to heading out each day. We’ll continue to assess the day as it progresses to ensure your enjoyment and safety.

Unlike some ski tour companies, we do not assign you a different ‘rep’ each day, we assign you a dedicated ski instructor who will be escorting you all day, every day. *excl. free ski day.

We have roughly 20 years of accumulated local knowledge and will mix it up from a well-trodden route to one of our ‘mystery tours’ from any of our list of secret locations. If you’re heading off piste you’ll also have the additional services of our IFMGA guide – whose knowledge of the Dolomites is astounding!

How will I know the best places to stop?   We will have pre-selected the best refugio for morning coffee, we’ll already have pre-booked lunch – to avoid any pesky queues. We’ll also advise you on the best spots for those enviable photos, hot chocolate stops, where to go for the most delicious strudel, and even some spectacular loos! – where you don’t even have to clamber downstairs in ski boots, and many more handy hints!

Afternoon aperitivo or hot chocolate.  We’ll have already decided on where to stop for that necessary afternoon aperitivo or hot drink in each of the superski areas we visit. All have different strengths to offer: Some offer wonderful views with sun terraces, some are hidden enoteca – wine bars, some serve the best ‘bombardini’ – a very alcoholic hot egg nog, guaranteed to out the tiger in your tank and our favorite hugo – prosecco, elderflower, tonic water, a twist of fresh tangerine and a sprig of mint. Fortunately we’ve tried them all…….or nearly!

Do I dine with the group?   Yes. We encourage our guests to dine together to share the day’s experiences. This helps create an empathetic group dynamic.

Our charming accommodation offers 6 nights half board with mouth-watering Italian cuisine, including a special dinner dedicated to local gastronomic goodies and a gala evening. One night is not included in the half board option. We will book a delightful local hostelry to allow you to experience dining out in the village (at the guest's expense).

There will also be a complementary aperitivo evening in our chalet, where you are invited to join us for a glass or two and get that ‘house party vibe’ going, before we return you to the village for your delicious evening meal.

Once back at your hotel you can relax before heading to bed. There is a beautiful swimming pool and wellness centre (tour dependent) and relaxation areas to ease those weary muscles after all those slopes!
