Taylor Swift has shared a behind the scenes look at the making of the Midnights track “Lavender Haze.”

The video features Swift serving as actor and director in the video, starting with a conversation between her and co-star, Laith Ashley, about his role. Ashley says, “I didn’t expect for her to share anything with me. I was like, I’m kind of just here… I don’t want to say a prop, but a model. But she went into detail as to what my role was in the video, so I’m really happy to be a part of it.” Watch the whole video below.

Last week, Swift unveiled another merch collection ahead of her Eras Tour. The “Through the Eras” collection features 10 T-shirts, each themed to a separate album by the superstar — from her 2006 self-titled debut and 2010’s Speak Now to 2020’s dual Folklore and Evermore and 2022’s Midnights .

Each shirt features graphics of Taylor from the particular album era on the front and the list of cities on the hotly anticipated tour route on the back. (For the record, both 2008’s Fearless and 2012’s Red get a (Taylor’s Version) remake in the drop.) You can view the “Through The Eras” collection on the artist’s official Instagram page .

In addition to Swifties being able to choose a shirt that represents their favorite era, the line also includes a black long-sleeve, white hoodie and gray crewneck sweater showing the “Lavender Haze” singer through the years of her 17-year career. Plus, fans can purchase everything from blankets, sweatpants, phone cases, nail gems, mugs and tumblers to luggage tags, stickers, coasters, notebooks, bandanas, activity books, colored pencils and ponchos in case of rain.

As the March 17 start date for ‘The Eras Tour’ draws closer, Swift achieved another pair of impressive milestones last week. First, she became only the second woman to ever place 10 albums on the Billboard 200 at the same time after Whitney Houston. And second, she tied the record for the most top 10s in the history of the Adult Pop Airplay chart as “Lavender Haze” landed at No. 9 on the chart dated March 4.

I Tried Taylor Swift's Eras Tour Lavender Haze Lemonade & It's Strong

I feel the vodka “creepin' up on me.”

Not only are Swifties outdoing themselves at The Eras Tour with intricate themed ‘fits , but the stadiums are also pulling out all the stops in Taylor Swift’s honor. Glendale, Arizona transformed into Swift City for the start of tour, while Las Vegas lit up in all the colors of the eras to show they were “ready for it.” Some places have even been revamping their menus to include Eras Tour-themed drinks for Swifties to purchase at their show. MetLife Stadium in New Jersey had an Eras Tour Lavender Haze Lemonade, and I tried making it at home to see if it’s as good as other Swift-inspired drinks.

I actually attended night one of The Eras Tour in New Jersey and was disappointed to see they weren’t offering any kind of speciality cocktail when I was there. I circled the stadium for what felt like forever trying to find something fun to sip on while I waited for Swift to take the stage, but was left empty-handed and thirsty. So, you can imagine my frustration when I saw that MetLife Stadium tweeted on night two that they were selling a Lavender Lemonade . The lavender-infused lemonade with vodka was also perfectly priced at $13 — aka Swift’s favorite number. Of course, I shouldn’t complain since our night did get “Getaway Car” and “Maroon” as our surprise songs in addition to an Ice Spice guest appearance , but I still wanted to try the Lavender Lemonade for myself.

I’ve had the Lavender Haze drink from Starbucks , and really loved the blend of passion tea, soy milk, and vanilla. With summer finally here, I was hoping this Lavender Haze Lemonade might be my new go-to sip of the season.

Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour Lavender Haze Lemonade Review

Unfortunately, MetLife didn’t share a recipe for the Lavender Lemonade, so I went to Google. This Lavender Vodka Lemonade recipe popped up and only required four ingredients, so I went with it. To make at home, you need:

• 1 3 / 4 tablespoons food-grade dried lavender
• 1 1 / 2 oz lemon juice
• 1 1 / 2 oz simple syrup

I couldn’t find dried lavender at my grocery store, but picked up the next best thing — lavender tea. To start off, infuse the lavender into your vodka for about five minutes. I left my tea in a bit longer to really pull out the lavender flavor. Once that was done, pour in the lemon juice and simple syrup before shaking. Add to your glass with some ice and that’s it. It’s a fairly simple recipe.

To make my drink more lavender haze-y, I added in some color. Instead of going with food dye, I used blue and pink edible glitter and experimented to get the perfect purple shade. It wasn’t exactly a bright lavender like Swift’s purple jacket on The Eras Tour , but it was close enough. Apparently, the lavender lemonades at MetLife weren’t purple at all , so at least mine won points here. However, the taste was a bit much.

The drink is basically half lavender-infused vodka and half lemonade. For someone who was just looking for a casual sip to enjoy at home, it was way too strong. If I were to make this again, I probably would add more lemonade, but that would really dilute the lavender flavor. Another option would be to make an eight-ounce lavender tea lemonade, sans vodka. This will probably be my go-to if I decide to make some lavender lemonade this summer to enjoy poolside on a hot day. If I did want to add some vodka into the mix, I would add a shot — aka 1.5 ounces — and that’s it. Anything more, and I also might find myself “staring at the ceiling“ at midnight.

The pop star fills their bedroom with the purple smoke which, in turn, opens up a series of trippy scenarios, from fish in a TV set to a floating cloud that transports her through the sky. “The 'Lavender Haze' video is out now," Swift posted on Instagram when sharing the video. "There is lots of lavender. There is lots of haze. This was the first video I wrote out of the 3 that have been released, and this one really helped me conceptualize the world and mood of Midnights , like a sultry sleepless 70’s fever dream. Hope you like it 😁"

"Lavender Haze" follows Swift's previous Midnights videos "Bejweled" and "Anti-Hero." She recently joined The 1975 on stage in London to perform the latter live for the first time.

Later this year Swift will begin her own headline tour . The Eras Tour will take Swift across stadiums nationwide alongside guests including Paramore and Phoebe Bridgers. In December fans of the pop artist filed a lawsuit against Ticketmaster , and parent company Live Nation, after the roll-out of ticket sales for the tour proved disastrous. Their complaint accuses the corporations of “fraud, price-fixing, and antitrust violations.”

Unless you’re one of those people who swears off all modern technology and only uses a Motorola Razr (the OG kind, not the rebranded one), then you are aware that Taylor Swift is currently taking over the world with the Eras Tour right now.

All through the three-and-a-half-hour show, Taylor’s doing her thing while singing, dancing, pulling out surprise songs left and right and cheekily announcing Speak Now (Taylor's Version) and 1989 (Taylor's Version) .. But what I’m here to talk about right now is the fashion . All of the fashion .

I was lucky enough to attend the show at MetLife Stadium back in May. While I had already seen upwards of one billion TikToks and photos from the tour, nothing could have prepared me for the Eras Tour style that was happening right in front of my eyes. The best, IMHO, were her Midnights Era looks. Specifically, the fluffy faux fur purple “Lavender Haze” jacket that she opened the era with.

OK, now that we’ve sufficiently prayed at the altar of the “Lavender Haze” jacket, let’s talk about the best Amazon dupe out there on the market. (Who doesn’t love a good Amazon dupe when it comes to the Eras Tour?)

The Vickstco Fluffy Faux Fur Outwear Parka Coat features a similar lavender color, a longer shape and a crew collar. It also looks like you’re buried in a — ahem — lavender haze. Oh, and for a warm faux fur coat, it’s less than $50. IDK the exact price of Taylor’s “Lavender Haze” coat, but considering that it’s Oscar de la Renta, it’s most definitely not under $50.

I truly don't believe there is a better dupe for the "Lavender Haze" jacket than this one!

A five-star Amazon review called it the “Perfect Lavender Haze” jacket. I mean, look how perfectly “Lavender Haze”-y it looks on them:

“Bought this jacket for the Eras Tour, and it was exactly what I wanted,” they wrote in their review. “Every other fur jacket that I found for sale was short/cropped at the hip. I wanted my jacket to be longer, similar to what Taylor wears on stage…this did just that!”

As far as the actual material and quality of the dress itself, they wrote: “Because of the material, the coat looks crazy upon arrival and I was worried, but after brushing it with a boar bristle hair brush, it looked great!”

The jacket is available in sizes XS to XL. And if you’re not into the lavender color (no shade, but a little shade), the faux-fur fuzzy Amazon jacket comes in 14 colors, including an absolutely perfect shade of Speak Now purple .

The deep purple color is perfect for celebrating the release of Speak Now (Taylor's Version).

Whether you’re wearing it to an upcoming Eras Tour stop (highly recommend) or plan on wearing it all day every day through the fall and winter, I truly don’t believe there is a better dupe for the “Lavender Haze” jacket than this one. Taylor would be proud!!

A Swiftie apparently shared the “official” Purple Haze Lemonade recipe from The Eras Tour on TikTok earlier in the week. The ingredients include, Empress gin , lemon juice, Falernum liqueur , rhubarb bitters and Elderflower tonic water .

We searched TikTok and Reddit to find other lavender lemonade recipes such as the “Lavender Haze” lemonade cocktail that was posted last October after Swift dropped her Midnights album.

The cocktail is made with dried lavender , fresh lemon juice , lemonade , lavender syrup , club soda and Empress 1908 Gin .

To make a non-alcoholic lavender lemonade, simply mix lavender simple syrup with lemonade, water and sugar (you can also add a non-alcoholic gin or vodka to make into a mocktail).

While there are plenty of lavender syrups in stores and online, such as Torani Lavender Syrup and Monin Lavender Syrup , you can also make your own at home. To do so, boil 1-2 cups of dried lavender flowers in a pot of with sugar and water (1:1 ratio). Once the lavender steeps, use a strainer to pour it in a cup, so the lavender buds don’t get into the liquid. Next, mix the lavender simple syrup with 1-2 cups of lemonade or more, depending on how much you’re making, add 1-2 cups of cold water, stir and refrigerate or serve over ice (you can also add a lavender flower as garnish).

Taylor Swift’s ‘Fresh Out the Slammer’ Lyrics Explain Why She Dated Matty Healy After Joe Alwyn

Healy and Swift previously dated in 2015, so they have history. Swift referenced this when she sang: “Now pretty baby, I’m running back home to you. / Fresh out the slammer I know who my first call will be to.”

News of Swift and Alwyn’s breakup broke on April 8, 2023. On May 3, 2023, the first report of Swift dating The 1975’s Matty Healy emerged. Just days later, Healy flew 17 hours to attend Swift’s May 5 Eras tour concert in Nashville, Tennessee. Both Swift and Healy were on tour, and fans noticed that they each mouthed, “This one is about you. You know who you are. I love you,” during their shows that week.

Swift lyrically explores not just what drew her to Healy but her feelings immediately after her breakup from Alwyn. She references a partner who doesn’t understand her and the decay of their relationship, singing, “Splintered back in winter, silent dinners, bitter he was with her in dreams / Gray and blue and fights and tunnels, handcuffed to the spell I was under / For just one hour of sunshine / Years of labor, locks and ceilings / In the shade of how he was feeling.”

Swift continues her association of blue with Alwyn, which she also does in The Tortured Poets Department ’s “So Long, London” (“I died on the altar waiting for the proof / You sacrificed us to the gods of your bluest days”).

Altogether, there are some interesting revelations Swift makes in the track. Here, the lyrics to “Fresh Out the Slammer” with possible references to Swift’s history or other lyrics added.

A source spoke to Entertainment Tonight on April 11 , 2023 about Swift and Alwyn’s differences being part of what led to their breakup. “Taylor and Joe are in totally different places in their lives right now,” the insider said. “It was more of Taylor’s decision to break up, but both of them realized that they weren’t completely right for one another. They had been together for such a long time and were spending so much time together, but their personalities were just too different. Joe is more introverted, shy, and quiet.”

The lyric “handcuffed to the spell I was under” may also allude to how Swift described her relationship with Alwyn as representing a “lavender haze” type of love on Midnights . When discussing how it inspired the track, she said, “ I happened upon the phrase ‘lavender haze’ when I was watching Mad Men . I looked it up because I thought it sounded cool. And it turns out that it’s a common phrase used in the ’50s where they would describe being in love. If you’re in the ‘lavender haze,’ then that meant you were in that all-encompassing love glow. And I thought that was really beautiful.

“I guess, theoretically, when you’re in the ‘lavender haze,’ you’ll do anything to stay there. And not let people bring you down off of that cloud. I think that a lot of people have to deal with this now, not just like ‘public figures,’ because we live in the era of social media, and if the world finds out if you’re in love with somebody they’re going to weigh in on it. Like my relationship for six years, we’ve had to dodge weird rumors, tabloid stuff, and we just ignore it. So this song is about the act of ignoring that stuff to protect the real stuff.”

After her breakup from Alwyn, Swift did something she hadn’t done much in their six years dating: Go out in New York City and get photographed by paparazzi. In her December interview with Time , Swift spoke about spending “six years” being trapped inside. Her lyric “I did my time” reflects this.

She said, “Over the years, I’ve learned I don’t have the time or bandwidth to get pressed about things that don’t matter. Yes, if I go out to dinner, there’s going to be a whole chaotic situation outside the restaurant. But I still want to go to dinner with my friends. Life is short. Have adventures. Me locking myself away in my house for a lot of years—I’ll never get that time back. I’m more trusting now than I was six years ago.”

Both Alwyn and Healy are British.

Before Swift’s breakup from Alwyn, Healy and Swift had reconnected and worked on music together for Midnights . Healy and the 1975’s track did not make the final cut of the album.

Still, a source claimed to Daily Mail on May 18 that Alwyn was a bit hurt by Swift dating Healy. “Joe feels slighted and is distraught after seeing her budding relationship with Matt, but is doing his best to keep busy and focus on himself,” the source said. “Joe was aware that Taylor and Matt were making music together and collaborating. She told him that they had become friends, and he trusted her.”

The new Taylor Swift album is out — and it seems like we'll find out a lot more about her split from Joe Alwyn .

The 14-time Grammy winner released The Tortured Poets Department with multiple promotional experiences popping up around the country. Swift announced she'll drop her first music video for the lead single on Friday night, which she confirmed on Thursday is "Fortnight" featuring Post Malone.

Swift dropped a teaser for the album on social media. The video starts in a Midnights- esque room with crumbled up paper and four records on the floor. A clock is set to the time of 2:00, a number which the singer has teased for months. Viewers leave the room and are led down an all-white hallway (some people on social media compared it to a psych ward ) before entering through a door with a sign that reads "The Tortured Poets Department." 

The room is also stark white. Typewriters and coffee cups are sitting atop two desks. The video shows a bulletin, or "timetable," with April 19 confirming it's not only the album's release day, but that a music video will drop. April 20 is listed as "Record Store Day!" This is where the 14 tally came from.

Swift left plenty of Easter eggs at TTPD event

At Spotify's "library installation" at the Grove in Los Angeles, the unit featured 72 boxes, one for each of the 72 months (or six years) she dated Alwyn. Six boxes were open. A few people on social media pointed out how it looked like a morgue, or perhaps mourning a wedding that never was.

Those dried, dead flowers were scattered throughout the library. They are lavender and Cornelia roses — nods to Alwyn-inspired tracks "Lavender Haze," off Midnights, and "Cornelia Street," from Lover .

Two new lyrics were shown in the exhibit: “One less temptress. One less dagger to sharpen,” and “Even statues crumble if they’re made to wait.”

There was a globe featured in the pop-up with a pin in Miami. The Sunshine State clearly has significance (see track 8). After news of Swift and Alwyn's breakup made headlines in April 2023, Swift's first performance on The Eras Tour was in Tampa, Fla. Swift will be performing in Miami when the tour resumes later this year.

TTPD is going to be emotional

Swift released five playlists on Apple Music last week, which are all about the five stages of heartbreak: denial (“I Love You, It’s Ruining My Life”), anger (“You Don’t Get to Tell Me About Sad”), bargaining (“Am I Allowed to Cry?”), depression (“Old Habits Die Screaming”) and acceptance (“I Can Do It With a Broken Heart”).

TikTok and Swift reach agreement

All of Swift's music returned to the social media platform in a surprising move . Universal Music Group and TikTok are in a standoff after a licensing agreement ended, so all of UMG's artists were pulled from the app . Since Swift owns her masters, she likely reached her own deal with the company ahead of the release.

The album cover is unlike anything fans have seen yet from the 34-year-old singer. In the intimate black-and-white picture, Swift is lying down on a bed in black high-waisted underwear and a black sheer tank. (According to Swift’s stylist , she's wearing the Row, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen’s luxury brand, and YSL.)

“All’s fair in love and poetry...” Swift captioned the album cover on social media.

On another photo, there’s a handwritten note that reads: “And so I enter into evidence/ My tarnished coat of arms/ My muses, acquired like bruises/ My talismans and charms/ The tick, tick, tick of love bombs/ My view of pitch black ink.”

The note is signed, “Sincerely, The Chairman of The Tortured Poets Department.”

Making the album

When Swift won her first Grammy of the night in February, she said she wanted to thank her fans “by telling you a secret that I’ve been keeping from you for the last two years.”

“It’s called The Tortured Poets Department, ” Swift declared as she fittingly won her lucky No. 13 Grammy. “I’m gonna go post the cover backstage.”

Fans expected Swift to announce Reputation (Taylor’s Version) — but it was a “red herring”

There are only two rerecorded albums the singer has yet to release: Reputation and Taylor Swift . Swift had been dropping easter eggs for weeks that seemed to hint Reputation (Taylor’s Version) was coming. 

Speculation went into overdrive when, before the Grammys telecast, Swift changed her social media profile images to a black-and-white versions of the pictures. (The original Reputation album cover is black and white.) Swift then showed up to the Grammys in black gloves and a white dress with six necklace chains, but no, it was not a nod to her sixth album, Reputation .

Swift’s website intentionally went down right before the Grammys and a mysterious error code appeared, that if you unscrambled it, spelled “red herring.” Turns out, the Reputation era hints really were a red herring.

The Joe Alwyn of it all

It was revealed in April 2023 that the singer and the British actor had split after six years together , but neither of them have said anything about the breakup. (Who did it? When? Why?) The closest fans have gotten to such information is one of Swift’s bonus tracks off Midnights called “You’re Losing Me.” It didn’t take long for fans to point out the album title has a direct tie to Alwyn.

In December 2022, Alwyn revealed he’s in a WhatsApp group chat called the Tortured Man Club. The topic came up during Variety’s “Actors on Actors” series with Paul Mescal. The two were in the chat with All of Us Strangers star Andrew Scott.

“It hasn’t had much use recently,” Alwyn said.

What about Travis Kelce ?

As usual, fans won’t know what is covered in the album until it’s released. 

Whether we’ll hear about her falling in love with the Kansas City Chiefs tight end remains to be seen (or rather, heard), but there’s a good chance he inspired a song or two. Some people are speculating that “The Manuscript,” a bonus track on the collector's edition, could be about “the man you script,” i.e., Kelce.

Lavender syrup, hazy lavender cocktail.

For the lavender syrup, in a saucepan over medium heat stir together the water, sugar, lavender and blueberries.

Bring to a boil and reduce to a simmer. Remove from heat and let stand 15 minutes before straining. Refrigerate until ready to use.

For the hazy lavender cocktail, fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add the gin, lavender syrup, lemon juice and egg white.

Shake vigorously for 30 seconds. Strain into a stemmed glass an garnish with an edible flower.

Taylor Swift fans speculate her songs are about Matty Healy and Joe Alwyn – who are they?

Taylor Swift dropped her highly-anticipated "The Tortured Poets Department" on Friday and at 2 a.m. the star surprised fans by dropping an additional 15 tracks, calling it a "double album." Fans furiously began dissecting the lyrics of the songs, trying to discern who they were about. Many speculate most songs are about her recent exes, Matt Healy and Joe Alwyn. Who are they?

Who is Joe Alwyn?

Alwyn, a 33-year-old British actor, and Swift began dating in 2016 and broke up last year while she was on her Eras tour. He is known for films like the Oscar-nominated "The Favourite" and "Mary Queen of Scots." 

Swift, known for writing songs about her high-profile relationships and giving fans Easter eggs as to who they are about, has admitted to writing songs about Alwyn before. In 2022, she told Entertainment Tonight that the song "Lavender Haze" from her album "Midnights" is about wanting to stay in the "lavender haze" feeling you have when you're in love – even when it's made difficult. 

"Like my relationship for six years, we've had to dodge weird rumors, tabloid stuff and we just ignore it. This song is sort of about the act of ignoring that stuff to protect the real stuff," she said.

Alwyn has even contributed to Swift's albums before, under the pseudonym William Bowery, ET reports. He is credited in the track "Sweet Nothing" on "Midnights" as well as several songs on "Folklore and "Evermore," her two 2020 albums. 

Swift confirmed in her documentary "Folklore: The Long Pond Studio Sessions" that Alwyn was on those albums. He contributed to the songs "Exile," "Betty," "Champagne Problems," "Coney Island" and "Evermore" and even won a Grammy for his work.

Alwyn lives in London, so fans speculate her track "So Long To London" on "The Tortured Poets Department" is about their breakup. 

After her public feud with Kim Kardashian and Kanye West in 2016, Swift "moved to a foreign country," she told Time Magazine during her "Person of the Year" cover interview last year. "I didn't leave a rental house for a year. I was afraid to get on phone calls." These feelings are reflected in the lyrics of the song. 

Several songs on the new album are about a difficult breakup, including "Down Bad," "My Boy Only Breaks His Favorite Toys," "Fresh Out the Slammer," and " Fortnite," which features Post Malone.

Who is Matty Healy?

Healy is a member of the band 1975. He and Swift have supported each other's music throughout the years – with the pop star attending one of his concerts in 2014.

Romance rumors swirled then, and Healy said in a 2016 interview with Q Magazine that he had a "flirtation" with Swift, which gained him news coverage, but that she "wasn't a big impact" on his life, ET reports.

Healy once wore a t-shirt promoting Swift's 1989 album during a concert and Swift was photographed wearing a 1975 shirt.

When "Midnights" came out in 2021, Healy admitted his band recorded a song with Swift for the album but it didn't make the cut.

Then, about a month after her breakup with Alwyn, Healy attended the Eras tour in May 2023, and the pair were photographed holding hands. They were spotted together several times, but called it quits in June, ET reports.

Fans speculate her song new, "Fortnight," is about Healy because of the several blatant references to their mutual friends.

"Sometimes I wonder if you're gonna screw this up with me, But you told Lucy you'd kill yourself if I ever leave," she sings, seemingly referring to Lucy Dacus, a member of the band Boygenius.

"And I had said that to Jack about you so I felt seen, Everyone we know understands why it's meant to be," she sings in another verse, seemingly referring to her frequent collaborator Jack Antonoff, who helped Swift and Healy reconnect, a source told ET. 

Travis Kelce

After her brief relationship with Healy, Swift began dating Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce after he attended an Eras tour concert. Their relationship soon became a massive spectacle, with fans and media following their every move. 

Swift was first seen at a Chiefs game in September 2023 and attended several other games, often bringing celebrity friends. There was much fanfare over her attendance at the  Super Bowl, which the team won . She is even attributed with  boosting sales of Kelce's jersey.

Fans speculate her new song "Alchemy" is about Kelce because the love song includes many subtle football references.

"So when I touch down, call the amateurs and cut 'em from the team," she sings.

Swift and Kelce often travel to be together and "touch down" could be a play-on-words for a football touchdown.

"These blokes warm the benches, we've been on a winning streak," she sings in another line.

"Where's the trophy? He just comes runnin' over to me," is a line that fans speculate is about Swift and Kelce embracing after his Super Bowl win.

Kim Kardashian

On "The Tortured Poets Department," there is a song called "thanK you aIMee" – stylized so the letters KIM are capitalized. Fans believe this is a blatant reference to Kim Kardashian.

Aside from referencing a "bronze spray-tanned statue," which likely refers to spray tan fan Kardashian, Swift appears to sing about the fallout after her feud with Kardashian and Kanye West, the rapper known as Ye. 

Ever since Ye interrupted Swift's acceptance speech at the 2009 VMAs, there has been tension between the artists that seems to have never gone away.

When Ye released a song that referenced Swift in 2016, Swift claimed she was not OK with the lyrics. But Kardashian released audio from a phone call between Swift and Ye during which Swift appears to give the rapper her blessing to mention her in the song.

"All that time you were throwin' punches, it was all for nothin'," Swift sings in "thanK you aIMee." 

"I wrote a thousand songs that you find uncool, I built a legacy, which you can't undo, But when I count the scars, there's a moment of truth, That there wouldn't be this if there hadn't been you," she sings in another song. 

The three appeared to have mended their rift several times, with Ye sending Swift flowers and Kardashian and Swift seen dancing during a Ye performance at an awards show. But the feud was seen to have damaged Swift's reputation – and fans believe her album "Reputation" was inspired by the fallout. In her Time interview, Swift called the scandal "a career death."

Taylor Swift’s latest album riddled with heartbreak has already become her best-selling record and broke several impressive Spotify records within one day of its release—but “The Tortured Poets Department” may struggle over time as data shows fans tend to stream her pop love songs for longer than her breakup ballads.

Swift released 31 emotional songs with “The Tortured Poets Department” debut Friday, which quickly broke Spotify records to become the most streamed album in a single day with more than 200 million streams, and made Swift the most-streamed artist in one day in Spotify history (her album also broke the record for most saves before it released).

“The Tortured Poets Department” has been the talk of the industry since its release with fans and music reviewers analyzing Swift’s lyric s, celebrity name dropping , and possible references to her recent love interests (Joe Alwyn, Matty Healey and Travis Kelce) in each track, many of which are slower, angsty tunes.

And while the buzz sent streams of the new album skyrocketing—“Fortnight,” the first single from the record, became Spotify's most-streamed song in a single day with more than 39 million streams by Monday—data shows it’s Swift’s more poppy and upbeat songs about love that tend to stand the test of time.

Of Swift's 10 songs that stayed on Billboard's top streaming songs chart the longest, none are classified as the type of heartbroken, emotional tracks that fill "The Tortured Poets Department.”

Instead, songs like "Shake It Off," "Blank Space," "22" and “Lavender Haze” are the songs fans tend to come back to again and again, all of which are relatively up-beat pop tracks.

"Anti-Hero," a more introspective synthpop song about Swift's public and private insecurities, spent the most time on the streaming chart at 55 weeks, but was followed by the more straightforward pop of "Shake It Off" (54 weeks), "Cruel Summer" (51 weeks), "Blank Space (40 weeks) and "I Knew You Were Trouble" (24 weeks).

The catchy "22" and love song "Lavender Haze" each spent 20 weeks on the chart, "Karma" and "Bad Blood," from the revenge-filled album "Reputation," are in the No. 8 and 9 spots with 19 and 18 weeks on the chart, respectively, and "I Don't Wanna Live Forever," a ballad written for the “Fifty Shades Darker” movie, is at No. 10 with 17 weeks on the chart—none could be described as a ballad.

1.4 million. That’s how many copies of “The Tortured Poets Department” sold in its first day to break Swift’s record of the biggest sales week for any album.

"The Tortured Poets Department" is Swift's ninth album in the last five years, including four re-recorded albums that feature some new tracks. She announced the album in February after winning her 13th Grammy Award and released the tracklist for the record that night. In the weeks leading up to Friday's release, a full-on media blitz included partnerships with almost every major social media and streaming company, a pop-up library in Los Angeles and a QR code needing de-coding in Chicago. The album was released Friday night in two parts—the first 16 songs were released at midnight eastern time and another 15 followed at 2 a.m. Since the release, fans have been surprised by how few seem to focus on the collapse of her six-year relationship with British actor Alywn. It’s been a big week for Taylor Swift , who not only dropped her 11th studio album The Tortured Poets Department (a surprise double album, no less), but also gave Swifties a short glimpse into her life, including her pickleball skills.

In a 15-second YouTube Shorts post on Friday, the “Anti-Hero” singer showed viewers what she’s been up to on her break from the Eras tour (which you can still get tickets to here ), along with clips with her boyfriend, Kansas City Chiefs NFL star  Travis Kelce . She also sparked a viral TikTok challenge inspired by the first single “Fortnight” off the album and collaboration with Post Malone. The “Fortnight” challenge is a trend where users share clips of 14 personal, everyday moments, and Swift spotlighted some of her best outfits as of late , notably a pirouette skirt in lavender from Popflex while she was the pickleball court — which just so happened to be designed by a Swiftie.

Popflex  is a athletic wear brand designed by Cassey Ho, an entrepreneur and former pilates instructor who was ecstatic to see the Grammy-winner donning her sporty-chic look. The skirt surged in popularity following the #ForAFortnightChallenge video , selling out just 15 minutes after the post went up. The Pirouette Skort comes in 11 shades to choose from, but Swift paired the very “Lavender Haze”-core colorway with a white top and brown sunglasses while swinging her her Chiefs-themed racket.

The ruffled tennis-style skirt is priced at $60 and comes in size XXS-3X , and while it was sold out before, the good news is that Popflex is accepting limited pre-orders on the lavender version (other colorways are available to buy now) with plans to ship in July.

Taylor Swift's Sparkly "Lavender Haze" Manicure Is So Cute For Spring

Taylor Swift did it again. The release of the singer's 11th studio album, The Tortured Poets Department has the internet in a frenzy—from her skinny Clara Bow brows in the "Fornight" video to the Easter eggs about Matty Healy and Travis Kelce, Swift's latest might be her most interesting and intimate era to date. As a part of the album roll-out, Swift posted a YouTube short (unexpected, but we'll take it) with her collaboration with Post Malone playing in the background. Though the video offers us a rare look at her day-to-day life, we couldn't stop eyeing her cute purple nails.

On April 19, the "Florida!!!" singer posted a candid video showing what here life looks like right now. It included clips of her working out, cooking, hanging out with her cats, and working on a sewing project—celebrities, they're just like us!

In every Swift production, it feels as though there has to be an Easter egg hiding in plain sight. However, to our eyes, this video appeared to be nothing but a BTS moment. There were no clues or nods to her new era, aside from a look at her glam from the "Fortnight" video. But, she did reveal her newest manicure. In a close-up shot of her sewing, Swift's purple manicure was on display, and it's going straight to our spring mood boards.

The pastel purple polish is perfect for springtime, but it has a fun twist with glitter accents that give the illusion of a faux French tip . The "Lavender Haze" nails felt fitting for Swift who loves purple, (hello, Speak Now !) and all things glitter. Subtle shimmers and chrome have been a huge manicure trend throughout this year as well, with everyone from Katy Perry to Kylie Jenner trying out the nail art.

The shape of Swift's nails is also interesting—they're shorter and look like a hybrid between almond and square shapes. The Reputation singer is known to keep her nails on the shorter side and prefers a square shape . Swift has also been taking part in the square nail revival that's been taking over (even Zendaya opted for a square French manicure .)

Other shots of the video saw Swift with her classic bangs and wavy hair that framed her face. She also wore her signature red lip in multiple video clips, and in other shots, switched up the red to mauvy pinks and sheer glosses. The rest of her glam throughout the video featured her typical glowy complexion and a signature cat eye .

Taylor Swift announces 'Tortured Poets' music video and highlights 2 o'clock

Taylor Swift has released a new timetable associated with the release of her 11th era album, "The Tortured Poets Department."

A video posted to the singer's Instagram account begins on a clock pointed at 2 o'clock. This is the same time from the Karma (Remix) music video coffee cup and the same time that clocks at a Spotify exhibit in Los Angeles teasing the new album point.

Next the camera leaves the animated room that previewed her week of "Midnights" appearances, music videos and announcements. There are crumpled papers on the ground along with the vinyl variants for the "Lavender Haze" album and four photos on the wall that are seen on this post Swift made on Instagram on October 22, 2022 . The camera enters an office hallway before turning to a door with the name plate, "The Tortured Poets Department."

The video jumps through the keyhole to a shiny marble white office with two desks. The camera hovers over a desk with a coffee cup before jetting to a cork bulletin board that has photos of Swift at her Eras Tour piano when she announced the three variants with three bonus songs. There is another clock on the wall pointed to 2 o'clock. A fourth photo of Swift is at the top with her cat kissing her nose.

The calendar shows April 19 and reads: "The Tortured Poets Department Release Day" and "8 p.m. ET music video release!!" There is a tally bellow that adds up to 14, which could refer to a fortnight, which is two weeks.

The video also teases April 20, which is also Record Store Day .

Her album, "The Tortured Poets Department." is set to be released at midnight on April 19.
