Don't waste your time.

Tried to organise car hire for our upcoming trip to Turkey. It was advertised at one price but when you clicked on the link the actual price was almost double what wa initially quoted. It's false advertising and a complete waste of time!

Easy savings! Plus car hire

Great site to use for all aspects of holiday bookings

Not what I expected

I specifically avoided meet and greet as I like to keep my keys with me. At the time of booking I did not realise that maple parking insist on having the keys otherwise I’d have stuck with the official airport parking which was not that much dearer. More clarity required when choosing options. Maple parking were ok but couldn’t remember where they’d left the car, which wasted time on a freezing cold evening trying to find it and then gave us the wrong code for the exit. Next time will book direct with Heathrow parking

Booked airport taxi transfers via Travelsupermarket acting as agents for HolidayTaxis.com. After correctly completing Travelsupermarket online booking system I clicked pay now to book, the website went straight back to the home page without confirming payment was succesful, I received no booking reference & no follow up email. I contacted HolidayTaxis.com & they tell me no booking has been made. My card company tell me HolidayTaxis.com have taken £177. Travelsupermarket & HolidayTaxis.com have shafted me. good luck dealing with these awful people

Don’t book your car hire with an I phone

I booked a car hire using my apple phone for Bordeaux airport travelling on the 3rd of May to the 10th. When I tried to put in the pickup and drop off times I was only given four options 7,8,9 or 10am. I put in the latest time. It later asked for my flight number so I assumed the hire company would know when my flight would arrive. My flight was due to arrive at 5pm but thought that the company would know this. When I went to pick the car up they classed me as a no show and that I had lost the booking and my money. Since travel supermarket only gave me four options what else was l supposed to do. The car hire company Goldcar said that this problem was happening 4 or 5 times a week in their office alone and that I should book directly with them.

Never kept their promise, and still don't shame on Travel supermarket

I used these people for hotel and car park at Heathrow, I noticed that they had a mystery hotel, quote 'A short distance from the treminal. Great I though saving a few £ and getting hoel close to terminals. Paid my money and hotel confirmation came back. This hotel Delta by Marriot is nearly 7 miles from the terminals. As They are sneeky and don't give a telephone number I had to email themand guess what no reply. My recomendation us another website, these are not good 6 days later and no response from them. New update, sent details as requested to Lilly 4 days ago and nothing. A company full of broken promises. Please don't be conned by them. They take your money, you cannot contact them by phone and the do not answer their emails. Shame on you..

The Travelsupermarket flight search engine is one of the most popular booking engines for trip planning in the UK. They are owned by the Moneysupermarket group and serve as their prime subsidiary focused on flights, hotels, holidays, travel deals and travel guides.

The site was one of the first in the UK to adopt the Metasearch model of flight finding. i.e. searching multiple airlines and travel agents from a single user query and displaying results in one window.

They are the number 9 site as far as traffic numbers are concerned – Hitwise reports that they control around 2.36% of the UK travel market with high visibility in major search engines.

The site was previously managed by Chris Nixon, brother of the founder of the Moneysupermarket group Simon Nixon. However, Chris Nixon left in December 2010 to join Kelkoo and become managing director of its flight and travel department for Europe.

Travelsupermarket has spent large sums of money on TV advertising in past years – with high profile campaigns featuring celebrities ranging from TV dragon Peter Jones to pop duo Jedward.

Filtering is not easy

Filtering flights is not immediately easy with Travelsupermarket flights. Most flight search engines have sliders where you can narrow down flight choices by departure times, providers, airlines and other factors. You cannot do this with Travelsupermarket flights. You are just presented with a long list of different flights for your route.

Price is not always accurate

A common problem that all Metasearch engines face is the discrepancy between a flight price shown and a flight price on the actual booking site. Travelsupermarket flights are no different. The biggest annoyance for consumers is when a flight is displayed on Travelsupermarket’s site which does not exist in reality.

Not as flexible as some other search engines.

Even though travelsupermarket allows you to search up to three days before and after your chosen departure times it is still not that flexible in comparison to some of its competitors. Skyscanner for example shows flights for the entire month on popular routes and Kayak has a handy explore feature which shows the cheapest routes found by other visitors using their site.

Prices are not always the cheapest

Travelsupermarket does not always come up with the best price. It is not uncommon for another search engine to beat its price on the same day and on the same route. This boils down to the fact that different search engines compare different sites. One search engine may locate a flight through one of its search partners only for another search engine to miss it because they did not search that company. Other flight comparison sites that often beat Travelsupermarket are Skyscanner, Fly.com. Kayak, Mobissimo, Liligo and Dohop.

In conclusion

Travelsupermarket has a number of pros and cons to its flight search. We recommend using it in conjunction with a number of other search engines when it comes to looking for the cheapest flights online.

Stock market today: नैस्डैक 0.85 प्रतिशत गिरकर 17,725.77 अंकों पर बंद हुआ, जबकि डाउ जोन्स इंडस्ट्रियल एवरेज 0.16 प्रतिशत बढ़कर 41,240.52 अंकों पर पहुंच गया।.

Opening Bell: ग्लोबल बाजार से कमजोर संकेतों के बीच आज यानी मंगलवार को भारतीय प्रमुख सूचकांक बीएसई सेंसेक्स और निफ्टी 50 की सुस्त शुरुआत हुई।

शुरुआती कारोबार में बीएसई सेंसेक्स .07 प्रतिशत की गिरावट के साथ 81,640.15 पर कारोबार करता दिखा, जबकि निफ्टी 50, 25,024 के स्तर खुला।

आज कैसी होगी बाजार की शुरुआत?

भारतीय बेंचमार्क सूचकांक बीएसई सेंसेक्स और निफ्टी 50 के मंगलवार को धीमी शुरुआत के संकेत मिले हैं, क्योंकि GIFT निफ्टी फ्यूचर्स निफ्टी फ्यूचर्स से थोड़ा कम स्तर पर ट्रेड करता दिख रहा है।

सुबह 7:40 बजे, GIFT निफ्टी 25,030 के स्तर पर कारोबार करता दिखा।

इसके अलावा, सोमवार को एसएंडपी 500 गिरावट के साथ बंद हुआ। निवेशक इस समय मुद्रास्फीति के आंकड़ों का इंतजार कर रहे हैं ताकि फेडरल रिजर्व की ब्याज दरों में कटौती के बारे में कोई संकेत मिल सके।

टेक कंपनियों से जुड़े नैस्डैक में भी गिरावट आई, लेकिन डॉव जोन्स इंडस्ट्रियल एवरेज को कैटरपिलर और अमेरिकन एक्सप्रेस में लगभग 1 प्रतिशत की बढ़त का सहारा मिला, जिससे यह मामूली बढ़त के साथ बंद हुआ।

एसएंडपी 500 इंडेक्स 0.32 प्रतिशत गिरकर 5,616.84 अंकों पर बंद हुआ।

नैस्डैक 0.85 प्रतिशत गिरकर 17,725.77 अंकों पर बंद हुआ, जबकि डाउ जोन्स इंडस्ट्रियल एवरेज 0.16 प्रतिशत बढ़कर 41,240.52 अंकों पर पहुंच गया।

एशिया-प्रशांत के बाजारों में मंगलवार की सुबह ज्यादातर गिरावट आई, जबकि वॉल स्ट्रीट पर डाउ जोन्स इंडस्ट्रियल एवरेज नए रिकॉर्ड पर पहुंच गया। एशिया के व्यापारी अब जुलाई तक के चीन के औद्योगिक मुनाफे पर भी ध्यान देंगे।

जापान का निक्केई 225 सूचकांक 0.35 प्रतिशत की गिरावट पर था, जबकि व्यापक टॉपिक्स सूचकांक स्थिर रहा।

दक्षिण कोरिया का कोस्पी सूचकांक 0.42 प्रतिशत गिरा, जबकि छोटे कैप का कोस्डाक सूचकांक 1.14 प्रतिशत की बड़ी गिरावट दर्ज की गई।

ऑस्ट्रेलिया का S&P/ASX 200 इंडेक्स 0.13 प्रतिशत ऊपर कारोबार करता दिखा, जो एशिया-प्रशांत क्षेत्र का एकमात्र प्रमुख इंडेक्स था जो बढ़त में कारोबार करता दिखा।

हांग कांग के हैंग सेंग इंडेक्स के फ्यूचर्स 17,694 पर कारोबार करते दिखे, जो एचएसआई के पिछले बंद स्तर 17,798.73 से कम है।

कल कैसी थी बाजार की चाल?

बेंचमार्क इंडेक्स सेंसेक्स और निफ्टी में सोमवार (26 अगस्त) को लगभग 1 फीसदी की बढ़ोतरी हुई। विदेशी फंड फ्लो और प्रमुख शेयरों एचडीएफसी बैंक और रिलायंस इंडस्ट्रीज में खरीदारी से भी बाजार में तेजी आई। इसके अलावा, अमेरिकी फेडरल रिजर्व के चेयरमैन जेरोम पावेल के शुक्रवार के बयान से बाजार में तेजी की धारणा को बल मिला। पॉवेल ने कहा था कि नीतिगत ब्याज दर को दो दशक के उच्चस्तर से नीचे लाने का अब समय आ गया है।

पावेल ने कहा, ‘‘मौद्रिक नीति को समायोजित करने का समय आ गया है। इस सफर की दिशा स्पष्ट है, और दरों में कटौती का समय और रफ्तार आने वाले आंकड़ों, उभरते परिदृश्य और जोखिमों के संतुलन पर निर्भर करेगा।’’

30 शेयरों वाला बीएसई सेंसेक्स 611.90 अंक या 0.75 प्रतिशत की बढ़त लेकर 81,698.11 पर बंद हुआ। वहीं, दूसरी तरफ एनएसई निफ्टी 187.45 अंक या 0.76 प्रतिशत की बढ़त के साथ 25,010.60 पर बंद हुआ।
