The Travel Corporation Introduces Online Agent Portal
January 17, 2018
The Travel Corporation (TTC) has re-affirmed its commitment to travel agent partners with the creation of a new online initiative – My Travel Portal (MTP).
An industry first in guided holidays and river cruising, MTP is designed to provide agents with a simplified solution for delivering nothing but the best service for clients. From providing the highest duty of care to being able to effortlessly personalize client trips, everything is taken care of within the online portal.
According to officials, MTP affords agents extra hours in their lives, knowing there’s a simple go-to place that holds all the necessary information for each client’s travel plans with the family owned, international travel group. It also hosts an e-documentation portal, saving both time and trees.
The MTP streamlined offering means less hassle for agents and their clients alike. From having client emergency contact details to hand in the event of unforeseen circumstances to obtaining travellers’ personal preferences to ensure a trip becomes tailored to specific tastes, MTP facilitates assistance with holiday plans in one centralized and convenient platform. Addressing pre-trip, on-trip and post-trip needs, the portal is an invaluable resource for clients wishing to view itineraries on their mobile device rather than in paper format, seamlessly sharing holiday snaps on social media, taking trip notes in their journal and chatting with their Travel Director and fellow travellers, plus providing overall peace of mind.
Agents can effortlessly put the “care” back into “customer care” by simply adding client contact details to Manage My Booking. A traveller’s completed MTP profile enables a seamless experience when in each destination: from saving time at border crossings and hotel check-ins, to helping save the planet with e-documentation instead of paper versions being issued. TTC has also partnered with a non-profit organization focused on global reforestation One Tree Planted, pledging to plant a tree for every guest who opts out of printed travel documents. The travel brand has already committed to the reforestation of several hundred acres of barren and devastated land.
Commenting on the TTC My Travel Portal (MTP) launch and e-documentation implementation across the portfolio, Brett Tollman, chief executive said, “We are proud to announce our latest innovative initiative, My Travel Portal, which has been carefully crafted with our agent partners in mind. At TTC, we take immense pride in the trust and valuable relationships we have built across the industry globally and we continually strive to equip agents with the best tools for success. Given that sustainable tourism practices are a cornerstone of what we stand for at TTC, we are delighted to confirm our roll-out of e-documentation and partnership with One Tree Planted, who share our vision for preserving the environment for future generations. With the help of all those who opt out of paper documents, we will be able to make a significant impact. We thank our partners in advance for all that they will do to educate their clients on the power of travel for good.”
For initial launch, the singular platform encompasses Trafalgar, Contiki and CostSaver, with Insight Vacations and Luxury Gold to activate by end of March. U by Uniworld and Uniworld will follow shortly thereafter this year, and then additional brands from the TTC portfolio will be added to MTP in due course.

The Travel Corporation Launches Online Travel Portal
The Travel Corporation (TTC) unveiled a new online portal for its guests, a one-stop shop that holds all the necessary information for their travel plans.
The platform, My Travel Portal (MTP) , was designed to be a useful tool for both travel agents and their clients. It will provide travelers with one centralized location for all their travel documents via the e-document portal, preferences and itineraries. In turn, the information will be shared back with the travel agent, allowing them to provide a personalized, seamless experience.
MTP will also host guests’ emergency contact details in the event of unforeseen circumstances, giving TTC brands quick access to contact and account for each traveler in case of an emergency.
The portal will also act as a social hub; users can share vacation snaps on social media, take trip notes in their journal, and chat with their Travel Director and fellow travelers.
Travel agents can register their booked client within the Manage My Booking (MMB) portal – an agent portal found on each brand’s travel agent website. Any agent partner with a TTC brand booking departing from April 1, 2018 will receive an email with an attached list of clients requiring registration via MMB. Any new bookings departing from April 1, 2018 will be automatically prompted to complete the required registration.
TTC affirmed it will “not use that data to solicit clients to book directly with us; we never have and we never will. Details provided will only be used for travel service messaging,” according to a statement on its website.
For initial launch, Trafalgar, Contiki and CostSaver will go live. Insight Vacations and Luxury Gold are scheduled to debut by March, with U by Uniworld following shortly thereafter this year. Additional brands from the TTC portfolio will be added at a future date.

TORONTO — The Travel Corporation (TTC) is making it known just how much it supports its travel agent partners with an industry-first initiative called My Travel Portal (MTP).
Focusing on guided holidays and river cruising, the online portal holds all the necessary information for clients’ travel plans, allows agents to personalize trips to deliver the best possible service, and gives clients the chance to view itineraries on their mobile device, share photos on social media, take trip notes and chat with their Travel Director and fellow travellers. It also hosts an e-documentation portal, saving both time and trees.
Agents can add client contact details to Manage My Booking. A client’s completed MTP profile enables a seamless experience when in each destination, from saving time at border crossings and hotel check-ins, to helping to save the planet with e-documentation instead of paper versions. SFMTA announces traffic safety proposal after family of 4 killed in West Portal
A month after a family of four was killed at a bus stop in San Francisco's West Portal neighborhood, the city's Transportation agency is announcing a proposal for traffic safety changes.
"This has been a high conflict intersection in the fact that three train lines converge along with buses and a very high volume of pedestrians," said Jeffrey Tumlin, SFMTA director.
Tumlin confirmed the agency was directed by Mayor London Breed and West Portal's supervisor Myrna Melgar to come up with immediate changes. On Thursday, that proposal was announced.
"Cars would be restricted from traveling through the Ulloa And West Portal intersection and again, what this does is that it prioritizes people going to shop in the West Portal district and it supports significant pedestrian safety by eliminating all the left turns," said Tumlin.
RELATED: Hundreds attend vigil for parents, child killed in SF West Portal crash
West Portal merchants and residents learned of the changes last night. Some believe the changes will hurt businesses.
"This is a half-baked plan - there is not data behind it," said Deidre Von Rock, president of the West Portal Merchants Association. "It is devastating. We are constantly under construction on SFMTA and every time something happens, business goes down because people cannot get here."
Von Rock views the urge to make changes as a political strategy pointing to both Mayor Breed and Supervisor Myrna Melgar campaigning for reelection.
"The accident, horrible tragedy that it was. It didn't happen in the intersection. It was up the street. I think that it's clearly a politically motivated ploy to say to their constituents, their supporters 'hey look we did something'," said Von Rock.
VIDEO: 2-year-old baby, parents killed in SF West Portal bus stop crash identified
Business owner Lisa Moore is concerned that blocking cars from accessing Ulloa from Claremont Avenue will kill businesses. She is asking for more data before any changes.
"I asked SFMTA why there is this sudden change and in fact, are there statistics that show that this intersection is dangerous - and do we have a disproportionate amount of injuries, accidents and the answer was no," said Lisa Moore, owner of Siren Boutique.
We asked SFMTA's director for the data.
"We have received complaints about this intersection for decades. A lot of the data that we are using is that conflict data that stretches back for many, many years," said Tumlin.
The San Francisco Bicycle Coalition said a change here is long overdue.
RELATED: Infant's organs donated to save other children in need after entire family dies in SF crash
"We think that the turn restrictions are a good starting point but we need to see the physical infrastructure that we know will keep pedestrians safe. Folks who are entering and exiting buses and Muni are incredible vulnerable," said Rachel Clyde with the SF Bicycle Coalition.
In the meantime, business owners who also live in the area say they are gearing up to respond.
"We have 10 days to let anyone know that we are not happy with this. The neighbors and the merchants will be rallying in support and send letters to the mayor, to Supervisor Melgar," said Von Rock.
SFMTA said they will hold several community meeting in the coming weeks before presenting the proposal to the SFMTA board of directors.
Changes could happen as early as this summer.
