Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party Returns for 2022!

Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party returns to Magic Kingdom beginning in November 2022! This takes a sneak peak at the entertainment lineup and dates for the hard ticket event, plus our commentary, including why Walt Disney World is retiring Very Merriest After Hours to bring back the fan favorite event.

This announcement of Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party’s triumphant return occurred as part of the Disney Parks “Halfway to the Holidays” celebration featuring special announcements, recipes for delicious dishes from the parks, and a live tweeting of a Santa Clause   virtual watch party coming tonight.

Before we dig into the details, let’s start with the basics. Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party (MVMCP) will be held on select nights in Magic Kingdom from early November through the week of Christmas 2022. This is the first time that fan-favorite MVMCP will be held since 2019. Here’s the full text of the announcement from Walt Disney World, followed by our commentary…

Holiday joy will unfold at Magic Kingdom as Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party returns this year!

On 24 select nights, November 8 through December 22, 2022, this separately ticketed event will invite guests to Magic Kingdom for an evening of merriment.

Join Mickey and his pals at the Cinderella Castle stage for the ultimate must-watch Christmas extravaganza – “Mickey’s Most Merriest Celebration.”

The show features nostalgic and modern medleys of holiday music paired with dance performances.

Minnie Mouse orchestrates a sparkling spectacle over Magic Kingdom as a part of “Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks.” Full of holiday magic, the show includes dazzling castle projections, fireworks and seasonal songs.

With his famous flying reindeer leading the way, Santa Claus will join Mickey Mouse and friends in the must-see “Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade” as it makes its way through the park.

Speaking of Santa Claus, he isn’t the only one who likes cookies during the holidays.

Partygoers can indulge in complimentary cookies and hot cocoa at locations throughout Magic Kingdom.

Magic Kingdom attractions will get a special dose of yuletide cheer. As an exclusive treat for event attendees, Space Mountain, Tomorrowland Speedway, Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor, and Mad Tea Party will all receive a special holiday makeover.

Holiday magic will once again transform the Jungle Cruise into the Jingle Cruise–but this is not exclusive to MVMCP.

Also at Magic Kingdom, dance the night away alongside favorite Disney characters during an out-of-this-world holiday show, “A Totally Tomorrowland Christmas” on the Rockettower Plaza Stage. (YES!!!)

Nearby, Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Café becomes the coolest place to get down when denizens of the North Pole drop by for an intergalactic dance party!

The fun continues for young partygoers and Disney Junior fans of all ages at Storybook Circus during the “Disney Junior Jingle Jam” as Disney Junior characters take part in a fun-filled dance celebration.

Finally, in honor of Walt Disney World’s 50th Anniversary celebration, Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party attendees will discover three jolly new photo opportunities. Guests will also receive a special 50th Anniversary commemorative keepsake, themed for the holidays.

Tickets for Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party may be purchased online or by calling 407-939-4240 beginning July 7, 2022. Guests of all Walt Disney World resorts and other select hotels ( see below ) can begin purchasing tickets as early as June 30, 2022. Ticket prices will range from $149 to $199. The event dates are:

• November: 8, 10, 11, 14, 15, 17, 18, 20, 22, 27, 29
• December: 1, 2, 4, 6, 8, 9, 11, 13, 15, 16, 18, 20, 22

Below is date-by-date pricing, along with other additional details about the 2022 Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party that Walt Disney World has released:

Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party will take place from 7 pm to midnight. Ticket holders will be admitted to Magic Kingdom as early as 4 pm on the valid date of their ticket–giving them even more time to enjoy park favorites before the event begins! These date-specific event tickets do not require an additional day theme park ticket or theme park reservation.

Discounts – Annual Passholders and Disney Vacation Club Members can save $10 per ticket to Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, valid for select event nights.

Purchase Tickets Soon – Guests of select hotels at the Walt Disney World Resort can begin purchasing Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party tickets as early as June 30, 2022.

The advance purchase window is available to guests of ALL Disney-owned resort hotels, the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin (including Swan Reserve), as well as Shades of Green at Walt Disney World Resort.

All other guests may purchase tickets beginning on July 7, 2022.

So there you have it: the  full  Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party returns for 2022, with pretty much all of the entertainment from the last time it ran in 2019.

Despite featuring a parade, stage show, and event-exclusive fireworks, the 2022 Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party will have a lower starting and average price, plus a peak price that’s $49 lower than Disney Very Merriest After Hours. Does this all sound a little too good to be true? Wondering what gives?  We’ll cover that in the commentary, along with other thoughts on the return of MVMCP, which is pretty similar to our assessment of the return of MNSSHP.

Despite the lower average ticket price and added entertainment, I pretty am confident that Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is more lucrative for Disney than the After Hours events. You may think that’s some “fuzzy math” on my part, but it’s pretty easily explained.

In the past, Walt Disney World has capped capacity at a significantly lower level for the After Hours events than for the Halloween and Christmas parties. We’re talking less than half . Part of this is that there’s more to absorb crowds during MVMCP–everything from more entertainment to attraction overlays.

With that in mind, you should go in with realistic expectations about Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party if you’ve never attended, only done Very Merriest After Hours, or haven’t done MVMCP in the last several years. In the last two years the Halloween and Christmas parties ran, attendance levels absolutely exploded from October through December. See “ Is Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party Too Crowded? ” for a look at what we mean. Obviously, that covers MNSSHP, but it also applies to Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party.

If past precedent is any indication, attendance caps for hard ticket events only increase and never decrease. Both Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party and Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party have gotten progressively busier over the years. That’ll undoubtedly be true once again in 2022.

Higher crowds than the After Hours events is not the only downside of Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. Due to the earlier start time of the latter, there’s suddenly a paywall around fireworks, other entertainment, and evenings in general at Magic Kingdom several nights per week.

From the perspective of a non-attendee, which you almost certainly would be some other day during your trip, After Hours is inarguably the better option. On After Hours evenings, Magic Kingdom would have normal fireworks and nighttime entertainment for day guests, the park would close at 9 pm, and it wouldn’t screw with crowd distribution over the course of the entire week.

On a MVMCP night, there will be no Disney Enchantment fireworks or nighttime entertainment for day guests and Magic Kingdom will close at 6 pm.

Because of that earlier closing time and the lack of fireworks, it would push crowds to non-party nights, making them miserable. One of those scenarios is objectively better for Walt Disney World guests who choose not to pay upcharge prices.

As for why Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is returning, there are several reasons. The most straightforward one is that Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party is returning, so  obviously  it makes sense to bring back MVMCP along with it.

Another is that last year’s Christmas After Hours was substantially similar to Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. Unlike Boo Bash before it, most entertainment was restored for the holiday incarnation. In fact, it felt almost like a hybrid event, offering the core elements of an After Hours event  and  Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party…while charging the combined cost for both!

Nevertheless, it wasn’t a foregone conclusion that Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party would return for 2022.

Last year, Walt Disney World opted to hold the After Hours events because there was the expectation that the 50th Anniversary’s opening months would draw colossal crowds. This would’ve been problematic because Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party requires closing Magic Kingdom at 6 pm several nights per week.

In a year of normal attendance levels, this creates a logistical nightmare. The event artificially manipulates attendance patterns to an extreme and almost unmanageable degree. By contrast, the After Hours events occur–as the name suggests–after normal operating hours have ended. Regular day guests were still able to see fireworks every night, which prevents a roller coaster crowd dynamic with low attendance on party days and heavy crowds on non-party days.

As it turned out, crowds were low through October, but attendance picked up considerably in November and December. With August and September always being the fall off-season months and attendance typically not increasing significantly until October, a similar concern could’ve existed this year–making MNSSHP feasible from the perspective of crowd dynamics, but not MVMCP.

The opening of TRON Lightcycle Run is another wild card, and it looks increasingly likely to debut this year–potentially during the holiday season around when Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance opened a few years ago. This was another factor that could influence the After Hours v. MVMCP decision. Thankfully, Walt Disney World has opted to hold  both  seasonal events.

As for the other reasons why Disney is opting to bring back Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, one is undoubtedly guest satisfaction. Although there have been complaints about it in more recent years (we’ll get to those below), MVMCP is a fan favorite. Bringing it back is a huge win for Walt Disney World at a time when the place could really use a win . Some might even say  it’s a Christmas miracle!

For its part, Very Merriest After Hours was reasonably well-received by those who attended, but also garnered a lot of criticism. For one, there was the threshold matter of cost. Not only was it was priced as an After Hours event–meaning more expensive than MVMCP, but it was  the most expensive After Hours event ever , with a price range of $159 to $249.

For another, Very Merriest After Hours was a non-starter for many parents with small children due to its later hours and shorter runtime. Aside from price, this was the #1 complaint we heard about the event–that the target demographic for the holiday party couldn’t partake because their kids would fall asleep before or shortly after the After Hours event started.

With all of those pros and cons in mind, we welcome back Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party with open arms. Don’t misconstrue us pointing out the negatives ( everything has ’em ) with criticizing this decision. WE ARE VERY HAPPY. You can plan around MVMCP with a little effort and it will not negatively impact your Walt Disney World vacation.

There are other ways to outsmart the crowds aside from After Hours events. (In fact, MVMCP creates a crowd dynamic that works well for planners with Park Hopper tickets). By contrast, the experience of Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is irreplaceable. Everything in life involves trade-offs, and the ones here to get MVMCP back are well worth it.

Ultimately, we’re incredibly excited about this news that Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is returning for 2022. Like so many Walt Disney World fans, attending MVMCP was a fall tradition for us, and we really missed the event the last two years. We also missed all of its entertainment and it’ll be great to see that again. As insignificant as it might sound, we’re especially hyped that “A Totally Tomorrowland Christmas” is returning!

If you’re already planning ahead and thinking about when to do the 2022 Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, your best bet from a low crowds perspective is attending on a Tuesday night. If you’re a local with even more flexible dates, attending one of the earlier events in November (but not the very first night–that’s the “blogger bash” that’s attended by sites like this, vloggers, influencers, and every other diehard local who wants to be first, which is why it’s more expensive than the following nights) is your best bet for avoiding the crowds.

Hi! I hope someone reads this since this is about 2023 and this article was mostly about 2022. That said, my family has tickets to the parks from December 4th – December 8th, multi park passes. I notice this year that Mickey’s Christmas party nights were the 4th, 6th and 8th that week. Will they kick us out of the park early since the event starts at 7pm? I am assuming the park will close early to us that don’t have tickets to the Christmas party. I was thinking we might spend the evening part of those days in another park or elsewhere however I wanted to verify that we would be asked to leave the Magic Kingdom early on those days. Please let me know what information you might have on this! Thank you! Adriane

Hi Adriane, We attending this event last year and yes, the park closed early for those who did not have a ticket to the special event, at 6PM. The park started allowing ticketed guest to enter the park for this event around 5PM. By 6PM the park is cleared of all non-ticketed guest. I believe, Epcot stayed open till 9PM on this night to allow guest to continue their evening fun. Have a great trip!! PS – if you haven’t enjoyed this party it is really a lot of fun and not nearly as crowded! We really enjoyed it!

I have a ticket of the first event on Nov 8th and am super excited as it will be the first time I have done such an event. As it is my first after hours event in a park, I have a question/concern about food options. I understand sit down restaurants will close at 7PM and reservations – forget about it! Will mobile order dining options still be available during the event? Is this an “eat well before you come” party? Thanks!

I agree with another comment. The crowds will be limited only by the number of tickets Disney can sell to this event. The parties pre-COVID were very crowded. When we attended in the past, we did so to see the parades, entertainment, and fireworks. Guests will be very disappointed if they are planning to do a lot of rides or meet with a lot of characters during the event.

Are you not allowed to ride the rides during the Christmas party? Zero meet and greets?

Will there be character meet and greets finally at this do you know? My daughter has been missing eeyore hugs for 3 years now! Hoping the 100 acre woods friends will be in their winter outfits and outside the ride doing photos again!? Have you heard anything about that being back to normal for it at all?

We are staying at the Signia Hilton Bonnet Creek in December. The Hilton hotel is an Official Walt Disney World Hotel. Does this mean I can purchase the Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas tickets on June 30th? Thank you 🙂

No. Per WDW website “The advance purchase window is available to Guests of Disney Resort hotels, Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Hotels, as well as Shades of Green at Walt Disney World Resort.”.

Update: I was able to add my Signia Hilton Reservation into the Disney mobile app and was able to purchase Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party tickets today. Signia by Hilton is an official Walt Disney deluxe hotel and guests staying at Signia by Hilton have the same Disney benefits as a Disney Resorts guests.

We’ve been to both parties several times. Our favorite is the Halloween party. The treats are much better. They hand out ‘real’ candy. At the Christmas party they hand out the same tired chocolate chip cookie at each stop. We discussed and thought a better idea would be to give people say two or three tickets with which they can buy any treat they want from the stalls. I would be much happier with that at the Christmas party than the tiny ‘junk’ cookies.

What about the Tuesday night the week of Thanksgiving? Or would the Sunday night of that week be better?

Yes… You won’t be able to stay after 6pm. You won’t be able to enter rides since they give a special bracelet for guests that have a ticket for the event. You may still be at the park but they will push you out by 7pm. Not literarly but yeah. As for the decoration it will start around the 5th and it will be ready for the 8th when the first show starts!

So you can’t go on any rides past 6pm unless you have the special pass? Ridiculous!!!

I am going to WDW 18-23, but I am only at MK on the 22nd. Could I still purchase a after hours ticket, say for the 20th even though I do not have an reservation for MK that day? Will I still be admitted into the park when the time to enter for the event allows?

I don’t think park reservations are required if you purchase a party ticket. That ticket is your “reservation”. You can enter MK at 4pm the day of the party and stay until midnight.

Attending Magic Kingdom for the first time in November 8, already bought the park ticket and made the reservation. Correct me if I’m wrong , I have to pay again to be able to stay till closing time and experience a couple shows or I have to leave at 6pm? Also do Christmas lights and decorations start November 1st?

Unless you purchase a party ticket, you will have to leave the park by 7pm on November 8th. With a park ticket, you can enter MK at 4pm and stay until midnight.

I noticed on the announcement that Disney called it a “limited capacity event”. Do you think they will actually cap attendance just like they did with the after hours party? Thanks!

Last time we attended MVMCP was in 2018. It was ridiculously overcrowded. It had been listed as “Sold Out” on the website for weeks, yet they sold walk up tickets on the night of the event! As tickets were nonrefundable, no vacancies could have occurred, so this was obviously just a cash grab by WDW. However Disney defines “limited capacity” for this event doesn’t match my definition at all. (We attended the after hours Boo Bash in 2021 and found the crowd much more manageable, as Tom mentions in this article).

My wife & I have attended both parties in the past (mostly MNSSHP). We always attend on a Thursday. At the last Christmas party we attended (2016?), it was extremely crowded (didn’t see any crows). I’ve never seen so many people in MK. I half joked that Disney’s “limited tickets” were only limited by how many they could sell. For those that have asked, we were able to get FastPass+ reservations up until around 6pm the night of each party. I assume it will be the same with Genie+. You’d be paying an extra $16 for perhaps one lightning lane.

Does this party affect the opening hours or crowd levels at EPCOT & Hollywood Studios? We’re on our Disneymoon from 9th to 12th Dec, had originally planned to do MK on the 9th but wondering if it would be better to do on the 10th instead so we can have a full day at MK and do EPCOT or Hollywood Studios on 9th instead?

Sophie, The party won’t affect EPCOT or Hollywood Studios hours. Crowds prior to a party night are typically lower at MK, but you have to leave at 7pm and won’t get to see the fireworks.

A Very Merry Holiday Home // Christmas Family Room Tour

Hi, friends! I’m back today with another room in our home spiffed and spruced for the holidays. The little elves have been busy around here getting the house ready to roll! Today I’m sharing a look at our Christmas Family Room.

And if you are new to This is our Bliss , then hello! I’m Rachael and the girl behind this lifestyle site where I share all things life, style, and home. My husband, 3 sons, and I moved from Illinois to Arizona last Summer, so I’ve been working my way around the house putting my touch on things.

It’s been such a joy decorating our new home for Christmas for the 2nd time. It’s finally all pulled together!

Last week,  I shared how I added some holiday flare to our recently made-over bedroom , and yesterday, I shared a peek into the Living Room & Dining Room all dressed up for the season!

Today, you get to see where we spend the majority of our time when we’re hanging out at home. The room opens up to the kitchen, but truth be told, it is not decorated for Christmas, nor was it clean enough to photograph! #lifewith3boys

A VERY MERRY HOLIDAY HOME // CHRISTMAS FAMILY ROOM TOUR

You’ll find us piled up on the couch watching Christmas movies with our popcorn and hot cocoa almost every weekend during the holidays. And if I’m being honest, maybe a random Tuesday, too 😉

We love the wide-open floor plan, but unfortunately, the layout doesn’t leave much room for one of my big Christmas trees. Last year was our first holiday season in this home and our 9′ flocked tree just didn’t fit in that small corner.

We moved that tree to the Living Room and bought this pencil tree.

And I have to admit, that purchase might be my favorite Christmas purchase in a while!

SMALL BUT MIGHTY PENCIL TREE

Like our Living Room tree, this cute little thing is adorned with all shades of metallic ornaments with a few pops of black. I also added plenty of sparkly pics and some mini white feather garlands. At the top, I opted for a simple bow using black satin ribbon .

The best part about having a pencil tree is the assembly, decorating, and deconstruction takes a fraction of the time it does for a larger tree.

I think they did a nice job with the lights, too. It really gives off a beautiful glow for such a skinny tree!

METALLIC & MOODY BUILT-INS

I love to add an element of drama to each room I design. Whether it be the black wall in the Powder Room, the black island in the Kitchen, the bold wallpaper in our Primary bedroom or these dark built-ins.

But I must admit, the built-ins look especially fabulous with the glitz and glam of all the gold I added for Christmas!

I don’t think you’ll find a single shelf without some brass or bling.

And I wouldn’t have it any other way!

The shelf of staggered trees is probably my favorite vignette of all. I love how well the trees layer and complement each other. I created a similar setup last year and I loved it so much, I had to do it again.

Instead of sprinkling the trees throughout the house, I think corralling them all together in one space, makes such a beautiful statement.

I also placed a ton of metallic ornaments in the gold wire presents and in a shallow crystal bowl. A brass reindeer and several coffee table books joined my normal set-up on these shelves.

The more ornaments the merrier this year. I put them everywhere!

CHRISTMAS COFFEE TABLE STYLING

I kept the coffee table simple with a gold tray that always sits out, a candle, a vase of flowers, a bowl of pinecones, and a few years’ worth of holiday cards in a large bowl .

We’ve been hole-punching our cards when they arrive in the mail and adding them to binder clips for several years now. Our card is always the one on top.

Then we have bundles of photos and notes from family & friends each year to look at each year. The boys love to flip through and see faraway friends and I love to see how friends’ families have grown each year.

These “books” really are special to us and we love bringing them out each holiday season to display and thumb through on occasion.

SMALL BAR CABINET VIGNETTE

Our bar cabinet got a tall tree and deer of it’s own, along with a candle and a couple bottles of wine set out for easy access!

I didn’t buy any new Christmas decorations this year, but I did grab these reversible black and white plaid pillows earlier in the week.

I think they’ll be a great addition to the couch and will probably make their annual debut in the Fall and carry us through the winter. I love that one side is white and the other is black! These pillows are inexpensive, but nice and fluffy with a good amount of weight in the pillow.

This fun-filled, family sleigh ride through the most wonderful time of the year was named by press as the “#1 Great Thing to do in The Hudson Valley for The Holidays,” “Best of Westchester,” and “Best of Hudson Valley.”

A sell-out performance every year, the show is a full multi-media presentation featuring dancers, marching bands, choirs, and special fx. With all of the traditional holiday songs you know and love, people of all ages become a part of the show and experience the magic of Christmas while raising money and collecting toys for Toys for Tots.

Happy Thanksgiving, Friends! I hope your day is filled with the people you love, turkey, and more things to be thankful for than you can count. As I’m getting ready for the 2023 Christmas Tour on Monday, Nov 27th, I thought you might like to see last year’s home tour. There are lots of ideas and inspiration to use for your Christmas home. Come on in the front door!

I think a wreath is a happy and hospitable way to welcome anyone who comes to our front door!

Most of the Christmas decor are things I already have. I like to challenge myself to use them in new and interesting ways.

But the wreath… it’s new! Cedar is a very popular green this year, and I am certainly on the cedar bandwagon! I opted not to use a bow on this wreath because it is gathered up at the top with twine. It’s a pretty and casual modern look.

This wreath is huge! So it can easily be seen from the road!

Come on into the foyer!

The heart of our foyer is this long white console table. And I packed it full of Christmas decor this year.

I’m not much of a collector but one thing I just can’t pass up are little trees! The console table holds some of my favorites plus a couple new additions.

You will see lots of little trees scattered throughout our Christmas home.

What do you collect?

One of the questions I get asked every year is how to decorate with what we collect. So this year I wrote a helpful post, DECORATING WITH CHRISTMAS COLLECTIONS . And it has been one of my popular posts so far this year.

In the post, you can see the big difference in how I decorated last year compared to this year.

Did you notice the white and silver reindeer art? I love reindeer. They are adorable! But this reindeer is so majestic I decided to prop him up in the foyer to greet you!

This year I took pictures with lots of lit candles! I took the photos over a three-day period and the last day was so dark and rainy. So I lit some of the candles and enjoyed the ambiance as I took pictures.

On the bottom shelf of the console, you will get a little clue about a color that plays a big part in our Christmas Home this year!

If you love a Christmas home that looks cohesive and has a designer flair then the most important thing you can do is choose a Christmas color palette!

I’ve wanted to use red in my Christmas home for several years but I seemed to default to greens and neutrals which I love.

I decided early that this was the year to add red! A color palette helped me to keep on track. This year’s colors were inspired by last year’s CHRISTMAS MASTER BEDROOM .

I wanted to use the same colors plus a touch of red.

Here is my Christmas color palette this year…

A color palette makes decorating so much easier. You can see a very helpful post, HOW TO CHOOSE A PERFECT CHRISTMAS COLOR PALETTE here .

I think knowing our color palette and the style and feel we want our Christmas homes to radiate gives us a huge head start and makes decorating so much easier and enjoyable.

Let’s walk down our long foyer and head toward the living room.

Let’s take a quick pause by the stairs.

The stairs look a whole lot different than they did last Christmas! This past summer we painted them and added a runner.

They were originally golden oak. Lots and lots of golden oak! Two stories worth of stairs!

The trouble with painting golden oak is the strong and noticeable grain in the wood. My husband and son worked together and found a quite easy fix for making the wood look much smoother! And they used a sprayer to paint the spindles. It was a big project but so worth it!

I’ll share how we transformed our stairs after the first of the year.

Garland on the stairs would be overkill so I opted for greens, ribbons, and vintage-looking Christmas balls.

I also used my favorite battery-operated candles on every other stair. They look so pretty in the evening!

THE LIVING ROOM

THE WHITE BUFFET

The white buffet is the first thing you notice in the living room. And the little upholstered stools too.

I found them earlier this fall and could not resist! I put one on either side of the buffet. I’m a big fan of symmetry! You can see these well-made stools HERE . They come in several colors.

On top of each stool, I added buffalo check pillows and little frosted wreaths (see them HERE ). The wreaths also hang in every window in our home.

I added a bit of red to this end of the living room with the red plaid gifts. I like this wrapping paper because the pattern looks light and airy for a plaid.

On top of the present is my favorite Christmas bow. Here is a post about CHRISTMAS RIBBONS AND BOWS with a little video about how to make these fluffy bows.

On the buffet are a few more Christmas trees from my collection.

Some of my trees, like the little one above, are decades old.

In the center of the buffet, I put together an easy arrangement in a hammered brass bowl.

Arrangements and vignettes are the backbone of my Holiday decor. They are easy to make and can be styled in so many ways!

HOW TO CREATE A HOLIDAY VIGNETTE STEP-BY-STEP will give you lots of ideas for making pretty Christmas arrangements too. And a peek at our Christmas sunroom.

The mantel this year has an asymmetrical garland.

The lit garland was hung using four 3M hooks. Lots of bits and pieces of greens were added to this garland to make it look lush.

I repeated the crisp brown and white ribbon that is also on the tree and on the newel post of the stairs.

I cut the ribbon about 5 feet long to keep making the loops manageable. And then I cut the ends of the ribbon into a classic French V’s.

On a last-minute whim, I added red wooden beads to the garland too!

I hung tree stockings at the short garland end of the mantel along with a few vintage Christmas ornaments.

I kept the brown and white pillow on the spindle chair from the fall. I love these pretty little pillows and they worked with my Christmas color palette.

THE COFFEE TABLE

In the middle-ish of the living room is the upholstered coffee table. This year I used a pretty glass mirror as a tray and added some of the smaller trees I collect that light up.

And I added a bit of seeded eucalyptus.

Seeded eucalyptus is much airier and lighter than greens. It lets the reflective beauty and light of the mirror show through.

THE CURLACUE CHEST

The Curlacue chest holds a white porcelain Holy Family.

Behind the little Nativity, I propped a light silhouette picture of Jesus, Mary, Joseph, and the star.

THE CHRISTMAS TREE

This year, like last year, I used our heavily flocked Christmas tree.

I decorated it with mostly white, brown, bronze, and neutral ornaments and ribbons. And I used just a little bit of red too!

I like a tree that is full of things to look at! Ornaments, ribbons, ornaments, berries, and big stems of something pretty!

This is the first year I used a tree collar. It was white so I spray painted it an antique bronze to work with my colors. I’m now a fan! What do you think? Do you like a tree collar or skirt?

I started to wrap some of our gifts to coordinate with our Christmas tree!

Our six little grandchildren (6 and under) could not stop touching the tree! They especially LOVED jingling the jingle bells. And that made it snow all over the floor and they loved that too! And so did I!

I saw the wonder and magic of a Christmas tree through their eyes! Christmas is just so special with grandkids!

Now let’s head to the dining area…

THE DINING AREA

The dining area is on the backside of the Christmas tree! So when we are eating we can see the entire tree from the other side!

I got a new rug for this area. It came yesterday. I took advantage of the early Black Friday sales. I always get indoor/outdoor type rugs in our dining room. They are so much easier to clean up. You can see the new rug HERE .

This Christmas season I kept the decor rather simple.

But simple can be so pretty! I put greens down the center of our table and looped the same brown and white ribbon through them.

And then I added this beautiful Capiz leaf garland (see it HERE on sale now).

A shallow-footed bowl in the center of the table holds seven, ruby red pomegranates.

I just love, love following your blog and all the creative ideas, how to and recipes you share. Your Christmas home tour is gorgeous and I have garnered many ideas. Would you please share how you attached the beautiful greens together, or did you use a teardrop swag on your newel post. It’s all beautiful! I especially love the deer picture in your foyer. Like you, I’m not a collector but I do collect trees and deer for my Christmas vignettes. I use those little battery operated mini lights too. They are set to come on a 4:00 and off at 10:00. They lend that magical touch. My colour palette is mostly white with touches of gold and very small additions of red. Looking forward to the rest of your home tour.

Okay… next year, for sure, I want to come at Christmas time! Tanglewood looks amazing, as always. I have to agree, the last minute decision to use the red beads on the mantel was a GREAT idea! And I thought I had a lot of ornaments on my tree! Hi Marianne, what a great question. The tree color comes in four parts. They click together with a magnet. You would have to know the measurements of your tree stand and then make sure it fits a collar. This is the first year we used a tree collar and won’t go back! Merry Christmas, Marianne.
