Fifty years since ABBA won the Eurovision Song Contest with the catchy Waterloo. That just has to be celebrated!

Since their beginning 50 years ago, the music and the story of ABBA are still alive. 'THE SHOW — a tribute to ABBA' will pay tribute on May 17th, 2024 at Forest National in Brussels to the 50th anniversary of ABBA's breakthrough, their legendary song catalogue, and the successful story of the iconic pop group.

The anniversary show will feature a cavalcade of ABBA's greatest hits of all time and even songs from the brand-new album, Voyage, which was released in 2021.

THE SHOW was created in 2001 and has since enjoyed over 20 years of impressive success worldwide. With nearly 800 concerts in 50 countries and more than 2 million tickets sold THE SHOW has created renewed success for ABBA’s music. THE SHOW presents a wide variety of ABBA’s Greatest Hits in a 2 hour extravaganza. It is a live concert that lets the audience follow ABBA from before they won the Eurovision and all the way through to their big international success. Among the greatest hits are songs like Waterloo, SOS, Mamma Mia, Dancing Queen, Money Money Money, Knowing Me Knowing You, sprinkled with several surprises from ABBA’s massive song catalogue.

THE SHOW isn’t just another cheap look-a-like tribute to ABBA. What separates THE SHOW from the pack is the success of recreating the two female singers that not only look like the originals but also sing so much like Agnetha and Anni-Frid that even the most critical of fans applaud them. The two singers were cast after they won a big Swedish TV talent show performing as the ABBA girls and now, they bring their talents to the world in THE SHOW.

The music in THE SHOW is played by the Swedish band Waterloo and backed by the London Symphonic Rock Orchestra directed by musical director Matthew Freeman. They have performed with big stars like Elvis Costello, Robbie Williams and Sir Cliff Richard.

To further add that original touch to THE SHOW several of the original ABBA musicians appear as guest performers in THE SHOW, something that is unique to this tribute to ABBA. Audiences can look forward to meeting the experienced guitarist Lasse Jonsson: Lasse Jonsson has participated in the recording of ABBA's latest album Voyage, and he played in the musicals “Mamma Mia” and in “Mamma Mia – The Movie.” Lasse participates in the recordings and on the soundtrack for Mamma Mia 1 and 2. In addition to the musicals that Björn and Benny put on, Lasse has also played in Hyde Park when ABBA was celebrated for their music with artists such as Kylie Minogue, Elaine Page and Chaka Khan and several other artists.

With more than 2 million tickets sold THE SHOW can well deserve to be labeled as a huge audience success but THE SHOW has also won official recognition. In 2010, THE SHOW won the price for BEST SHOW at The Limelight Awards in London.

ABBA Voyage

It’s been a while since we made music together. Almost 40 years, actually. We took a break in the spring of 1982 and now we’ve decided it’s time to end it. They say it’s foolhardy to wait more than 40 years between albums, so we’ve recorded a follow-up to “The Visitors”. To tell the truth, the main inspiration to record again comes from our involvement in creating the strangest and most spectacular concert you could ever dream of. We’re going to be able to sit back in an audience and watch our digital selves perform our songs on a stage in a custom-built arena in London next spring. Weird and wonderful!

To all of you who patiently have followed us in some way or another these past decades:

Thank you for waiting – it’s time for a new journey to begin.

“We simply call it “Voyage” and we’re truly sailing in uncharted waters. With the help of our younger selves, we travel into the future. It’s not easy to explain but then it hasn’t been done before.”

'THE SHOW — a tribute to ABBA' rendra hommage le 17 mai 2024 à Forest National à Bruxelles au 50e anniversaire de la percée d'ABBA, à son catalogue de chansons légendaires et à l'histoire couronnée de succès du groupe pop emblématique. Le spectacle anniversaire comprendra les plus grands succès d'ABBA de tous les temps et même des chansons du tout nouvel album, Voyage, qui est sorti en 2021. 

"ABBA est aimé et connu dans le monde entier. Dès le départ, nous avons voulu lui rendre hommage en créant l'illusion parfaite de l'ABBA original. Le public découvrira notre vision de ce à quoi ressemb lerait ABBA avec la technologie et les lumières d'aujourd'hui, tout en conservant le son fantastique et bien connu d'ABBA." — le producteur Kenneth Svoldgaard.

THE SHOW n’est pas un énième tribute band qui ressemble vaguement à ABBA. Il se distingue nettement de ses concurrents. La clé du succès ? Deux chanteuses qui ressemblent non seulement physiquement à Agnetha et Anni-Frid, mais également vocalement – même les fans les plus critiques ne peuvent qu’applaudir leur talent. Les deux artistes ont été recrutées après avoir remporté un célèbre concours de chant suédois en jouant les ABBA Girls. Aujourd’hui, le monde entier peut témoigner de leur talent dans THE SHOW.

Dans THE SHOW, la musique est assurée par le groupe suédois Waterloo et l’Orchestre symphonique de Londres sous la direction de Matthew Freeman. Pour rajouter encore une petite touche d’authenticité, plusieurs des musiciens d’origine du groupe ABBA apparaissent dans THE SHOW en tant qu’invités, une exclusivité de ce tribute band.

Pour ajouter une touche d'originalité au spectacle, le public peut se réjouir de rencontrer le guitariste expérimenté Lasse Jonsson : Lasse Jonsson a participé à l'enregistrement du dernier album d'ABBA, Voyage, et a joué dans les comédies musicales "Mamma Mia" et "Mamma Mia — The Movie". Lasse participe aux enregistrements et à la bande originale de Mamma Mia 1 et 2. Outre les comédies musicales organisées par Björn et Benny, Lasse a également joué à Hyde Park lorsque ABBA a été célébré pour sa musique avec des artistes tels que Kylie Minogue, Elaine Page, Chaka Khan et bien d'autres.

ABBA de retour sur scène avec une tournée spéciale : "ABBA Voyage"

« Dancing Queen », « Waterloo », « Money, Money, Money »… qui n’a jamais fredonné ces hits planétaires signés ABBA ? Derrière ces quatre initiales se cachent deux couples d’amis, j’ai nommé Agnetha et Björn , Anni-Frid et Benny .

Malgré leur séparation en 1982, alors que certains d’entre vous n’avaient pas encore vu le jour, la musique d’ABBA continue encore aujourd’hui de résonner dans la tête de beaucoup. Il faut dire que le groupe suédois, né en 1972, était une véritable machine à tubes. Le groupe a d’ailleurs remporté le concours de l’Eurovision en 1974 avec son morceau, mondialement connu, « Waterloo ».

Depuis, les fans n’espèrent qu’une chose : une éventuelle reformation. Pour le moment, ils ont eu droit à la comédie musicale Mamma Mia! , qui a attiré près de 30 millions de spectateurs ! ABBA a aussi son musée dédié, inauguré en 2013 à Stockholm dans leur pays natal.

Mais à présent, les admirateurs d' ABBA en veulent plus. En 2018 déjà, le groupe avait enregistré deux ou quatre chansons, d'après les confidences de Björn Ulvaeus ;  chansons qui n'ont jamais été dévoilées jusqu'à présent. Les fans sont frustrés, mais ils peuvent désormais se réjouir. ABBA prépare une tournée inédite en 2022, nommée ABBA Voyage .

Attention cependant, ces concerts seront un peu spéciaux : les membres du groupe ne comptent pas remonter sur scène. Ces nouveaux titres signés ABBA devraient être joués dans un show inédit «  avec des avatars  » prévu en mai 2022. Selon une source proche du groupe suédois, qui s'est confiée au journal The Sun , «  Bjorn, Benny, Agnetha et Anni-Frid seront tous là pour le premier concert de la tournée. Ils dévoileront leurs  Abba-tars, c'est-à-dire des hologrammes d'eux-mêmes. Lors des concerts, les Abba-tars vont chanter et interagir avec le public. Pour les personnes présentes, ce sera comme un retour dans le temps. »

Le groupe d'avatars devrait reprendre les grands succès d'ABBA, mais aussi - peut-être - les nouveaux tubes des Suédois. Surprise : le groupe ABBA a prévu de diffuser de nouvelles chansons le 2 septembre 2021. On ignore encore combien si parmi ces nouveaux titres se trouvent les chansons enregistrées en 2018. Le groupe n'a donné aucun indice non plus sur le nombre de tubes diffusés début septembre.

Alors, hâte de découvrir ces nouveaux morceaux des rois du disco ? Une chose est sûre, «  elles sonnent très Abba  », a confié l’ex-leader du groupe dans le Parisien , lors d'une interview en date du 9 juin 2020.

Cerise sur le gâteau : un documentaire est également en préparation. On suivra le groupe suédois dans sa préparation pour cette tournée très spéciale. Une tournée qui aurait dû débuter en 2020, mais qui a été reportée en raison de la pandémie.

Pophouse, the Swedish company behind ABBA Voyage buys KISS’ music catalog for $300 million

The rock band KISS is selling its song catalog, as well as its name, image and likeness, to Pophouse Entertainment Group AB, the Swedish company behind the popular ABBA Voyage live avatar performance.

Pophouse is paying more than $300 million, according to a person familiar with the matter who asked not to be identified discussing the terms of a private deal. The agreement includes master recordings and publishing rights.

Pophouse wants to turn KISS into an act that remains popular in culture long after its members stop making new music and performing. The company has announced plans to make a biopic about the group, as well as a live music show featuring avatars of its members.

Pophouse has already made a live show featuring the members of ABBA, the legendary Swedish pop group. That show, called ABBA Voyage, is making more than $1 million a week in London. Tens of thousands of fans flock to an arena purpose-built for the show to watch avatars of the group perform hits like  Dancing Queen  and  Chiquitita . ABBA’s Bjorn Ulvaeus founded Pophouse with Swedish investor Conni Jonsson.

Bassist and KISS co-lead singer Gene Simmons and his band mates started talking to the team at Pophouse a couple of years ago in the midst of their final tour, the  End of the Road  World Tour. The rock band, formed by Simmons and Paul Stanley in the early 1970s, has sold more than 100 million albums worldwide, and their final tour stretched over five years. 

KISS and Pophouse and have spent many months working through future projects, and the members of KISS have already flown to Walt Disney Co.’s Industrial Light & Magic to put on bodysuits and have cameras capture their performances for the avatar show.

“Kiss the touring band is over — we’ve stopped touring after 50 years,” Simmons said in an interview. “What Pophouse will do with our images, our music and our personas is unlike anything anyone has ever seen.”

Saison des ouragans

À Cuba, comme dans toute la région des Caraïbes, la saison des ouragans s'étend de mai à novembre. Nous vous recommandons de vérifier régulièrement l'évolution des ouragans sur le site web de l'Institut de Météorologie de Cuba et du Centre National des Ouragans de Miami-USA ( National Hurricane Center ).

En cas de catastrophe naturelle, il faut suivre strictement les instructions des autorités locales (protection civile), qui sont également suivies par les hôtels et les tour-opérateurs.

Pénurie de carburant

Cuba est actuellement confronté à une très grave pénurie de carburant qui peut engendrer des jours sans essence ou diesel et de longues files d'attente lorsque les stations sont réapprovisionnées. Ainsi, les déplacements sur l'île sont rendus particulièrement incertains.

Il est vivement conseillé aux voyageurs qui envisagent de se rendre à Cuba dans les prochaines semaines de vérifier la disponibilité des moyens de transport prévus et si le programme touristique prévu pourra effectivement avoir lieu.

Carte touristique

La carte touristique, délivrée par l’Ambassade de Cuba à Bruxelles, est l’équivalent du visa d’entrée pour Cuba. Elle est désormais valable 90 jours et peut être renouvelée une fois. 

Il est obligatoire de souscrire une assurance voyage avant le départ. Le  formulaire du voyageur  est lui aussi obligatoire et doit être complété en ligne, maximum 72 heures avant le vol. Il est vivement recommandé de se munir d’une version papier de ces documents.

How much are tickets, and how many people can I come with?

• Concert ticket prices start from £21.50 (plus a £2.95 Ticketmaster handling fee per transaction) and there are plenty of ticket types to choose from. Take a look at our  tickets page for more information or check out  Ticketmaster  for more information on prices.
• You’ll be able to book up to 14 tickets at a time for the main auditorium and Dance Floor and up to 44 tickets in the Dance Booths.

I’ve bought the tickets as a gift – how do I give them to someone else? 

Yes, you can transfer your tickets to someone as a gift. Log in to your Ticketmaster account and click the button to transfer tickets and follow the simple steps onscreen to transfer to your family or friends. You can transfer as many tickets as you like.

The person you are transferring to will need a Ticketmaster account. Don’t worry if they don’t have one, as they’ll be able to create an account when accepting the tickets.

What can I use to pay for my tickets?

Ticketmaster accept all major debit, credit cards, and PayPal.

When can I book tickets for? 

• You can currently book tickets for the concert until 28.05.23
• The regular times for the ABBA Voyage concert will be 7.45pm (UK time) on Monday, Thursday, Friday, 3pm and 7:45pm on Saturday, and 3pm and 7:45pm (until 02.10.22) or 1pm and 5pm (from 03.10.22) on Sunday. There will be some changes at certain times of year though, so make sure you keep checking for regular updates.

Where can I find my tickets? 

For ABBA Voyage, we’re offering an e-ticketing system. This means you’ll only be able to access your tickets through your Ticketmaster account, or the app, using a smartphone – they won’t be emailed to you or available for print.

If you can’t see them straightaway, don’t worry this is just one of the security features. They should appear in your account around 5 days before the concert.

Is the Arena suitable for people with visual impairment or people who are deaf and hard of hearing? 

• The ABBA Arena has seating suitable for guests with visual impairment, and guide dogs are welcome. Like all our seats, these are available to book online at any time.
• The ABBA Arena is fitted with a closed loop hearing system.
• At the ABBA Arena we offer British Sign Language Interpreted performances, with tickets held in Booth A with the best view of the interpreter. Tickets can be purchased by emailing [email protected] . Find information on availability here

Is the Arena suitable for those with access requirements, including wheelchair users and people whose mobility is limited? 

• The ABBA Arena has plenty of wheelchair spaces and suitable seats for a wheelchair user to transfer into. Each includes a companion seat that’s free of charge. Like all our tickets, these wheelchair and ambulant positions are available to book online, but if you have any specific access needs or requirements that you’d like to discuss, please get in touch with us at  [email protected] .
• The closest station to the ABBA Arena is Pudding Mill Lane, which has step-free access. The Arena is right next to the station, with step-free access across to the entrance.
• There are 10 parking spaces available for blue badge holders, get in touch with us at  [email protected]  to book.
• There are 5 accessible toilets and one Changing Places toilet at the arena.

The Concert

What time should we arrive.

Please arrive an hour in advance of your concert start time to allow for ticket and security checks and any travel disruption on the day.

The concert begins promptly at the time as advertised on your ticket*:

REGULAR SCHEDULE Monday – 7:45pm Thursday – 7:45pm Friday – 7:45pm Saturday – 3pm and 7:45pm Sunday – 1pm and 6pm

Latecomers will not be admitted until a suitable point in the concert

*There may be seasonal variations to show times – check your tickets for correct performance start time.

What’s the concert running time? 

The run time is approximately 90 minutes without an interval – so you can enjoy as much singing and dancing as possible.

Will ABBA be at the concert? 

The concert has been carefully planned by all 4 members of ABBA. Although not physically in the Arena, they have created the kind of concert they always wanted – blurring the lines between the real and the digital to give you the best version of themselves. Find out more  here .

What time does the Arena open? 

The arena opens at the following times ahead of each concert:

Are there any age restrictions? 

Although anyone can enjoy the music of ABBA, we recommend this event is suitable for those over 6 years old. Unfortunately, children under 3 will not be allowed into the venue, those under 16 must be accompanied by an adult and may not sit in the arena on their own. The Dance Floor area is not recommended for anyone younger than 12.

Can I take photos or film the performance? 

During your visit, you are welcome to take photos outside of the arena and inside the main arena concourse .

However, to keep the contents of the concert a secret for future audiences, and to limit distraction for those around you, the taking of photographs or the use of audio or video recording of the concert is strictly prohibited .

So kindly put your phones and cameras away, help ABBA keep the mystery of Voyage alive, and please enjoy.

Does the concert use flashing lights and images? 

The concert features extensive use of flashing lights and video content throughout, as well as lasers and harmless smoke and haze effects. If you have any concerns or questions, please contact  [email protected]

Where is the ABBA Arena? 

You can find us in London at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. The closest station is Pudding Mill Lane on the DLR (Docklands Light Railway).

Dressing Up at ABBA Voyage

Many of our guests will want to get in the spirit of the show by dressing up for their visit, which is welcome of course. However, we would kindly ask the following very specific things to ensure that you respect both your fellow audience members and the team at ABBA Voyage:

Please do not wear so-called ‘Afro’ wigs These wigs are culturally insensitive and not appropriate to be worn as fancy dress. If any guests are wearing this style of wig they will be respectfully asked to remove them as a condition of entry to the arena.

Please do not wear anything that lights up Flashing lights, glowing headbands and portable neon wear can be distracting and cause irritation for others. Please leave these at home, the concert has enough lights already!

Can I get to the Arena on foot? 

The easiest way to get to us is via public transport as we are opposite Pudding Mill Lane station on the DLR (Docklands Light Railway). However, you can also alight at Stratford station and walk through the Olympic Park.

Can I leave my bike at the Arena? 

Yes, there are 100 short stay cycle stands located on either side of the arena gates. Bicycles may be left there at the owners’ risk and ABBA Voyage will not accept any responsibility for any damage, accidents, or losses.

Is there any car or coach parking? 

The only Arena parking available is 10 blue badge spaces that need to be booked in advance. We strongly encourage travel via public transport or bicycle as parking options at Stratford and Westfield are available but are not controlled by us.

There are no parking spaces available for coaches to wait, but coaches can drop off and pick up on Pudding Mill Lane.

Can I get a taxi to the Arena? 

Private Hire Vehicles can drop off and pick up on Pudding Mill Lane. Please note that only pre-booked vehicles will be able to access Pudding Mill Lane at the end of the concert. If you wish to hail a black cab then there is an appointed taxi rank positioned on Barbers Road next to the arena.

What will there be to eat and drink? 

There will be plenty of options available before the concert. For more information, please visit the food & drink section of our website.

If you want to buy any alcohol, we have a Challenge 25 policy. This means you may be asked for proof of age and will need to show one of the following:

• Proof of age cards bearing the “Pass” hologram symbol
• UK Photo Driving licence

Please note only food and drinks bought at the arena can be consumed on site.

Is there a cloakroom? 

We do have a free to use cloakroom with limited space, so please only bring the essentials. Suitcases and large bags will not be allowed into the venue.

Like most venues in London, we have bag searches in place for your safety – this means any bag you bring is subject to search by our trained staff.

Is the arena air conditioned?

Yes, the auditorium is fully air conditioned

Can I buy merchandise at the Arena?

Yes, and you can also save time by purchasing them before you get to the venue via   our website

The ABBA Arena is a completely cashless site.

Does the Arena have WIFI? 

Yes and you are be able to connect to the network when you are in the Arena, there will be information on how to do this at the venue.

Can we bring water to the arena?

You can bring water and we have refill stations for water bottles. We also have reusable water bottles available for purchase.

Will you give tours of the Arena and backstage? 

Unfortunately tours of the Arena and backstage are currently not available.

I think I’ve left something at the ABBA Arena, what should I do?

If you believe you have lost or left something at the ABBA Arena, please send an email with a description of the item to [email protected] and our Visitor Services team will investigate this for you.

Where is the Oceanbird Lounge?

The Oceanbird Lounge is located on the main concourse of the ABBA Arena. You will be able to access the lounge from 1 hr 45 minutes before your concert.

What food and drink is included? 

The package includes a generous selection of cold-cuts, platters and snacks alongside specially selected wines, beers, Prosecco and soft drinks.

Champagne and spirits can be purchased from the private bar situated within the Oceanbird Lounge.

Food offering will vary depending on the performance you have booked for.

What’s included in the package? 

• Arrive early and experience the Oceanbird Lounge for 1 hour 45 mins prior to the concert, plus extended post-show hours for Fridays and Saturday evenings.
• Relax in a specially designed and welcoming environment.
• A selection of free flowing drinks and food options.
• Souvenir ABBA Voyage aluminium water bottle and Oceanbird Lounge lanyard.

Will there be non-alcoholic drink options available? 

Yes absolutely, there will be a range of soft drinks and non-alcoholic drinks available.

Do you cater to allergies and dietary requirements? 

Our menus are designed to cater for a wide variety of dietary requirements, when arriving at the Oceanbird  Lounge, please make the serving staff aware and allow them to assist with your needs.

Will there be vegan and vegetarian food options? 

Yes, our menus will cater for a broad range of dietary needs, including plant-based and vegetarian diets.

What will the service be like? 

The Lounge offers will feature a selection of bespoke ‘food stations’ and small plates continually served on offer to you by our dedicated Oceanbird Lounge Team.  Drinks are available from the bar, or will be served to you by the Oceanbird Lounge team.

Can I take food and drink from the Oceanbird Lounge into the main ABBA Arena?

You can take a drink with you from the Oceanbird Lounge to be consumed within the auditorium when you go in for the concert. Drinks will need to be decanted into specific containers.

Does the Oceanbird Lounge stay open during the concert? 

To ensure that all of our guests enjoy the concert uninterrupted, the Lounge is closed throughout the duration of the show. The bar will close 15 minutes prior to the performance starting to allow you time to get to the Arena and get ready for the beginning of the concert.

Who else will be there? 

The Oceanbird Lounge is open to all ticket holders attending ABBA Voyage who choose to buy an access pass. Come on your own, as a couple, or in a group, and enjoy the ultimate ABBA Voyage experience.

Does the Oceanbird Lounge allow access for under 18s?

Yes, under 18s are very welcome within the Oceanbird Lounge.

Is there a Dress Code? 

ABBA Voyage is an exciting event, and many guests will be dressed up for the time of their lives! However, there is absolutely no dress code for the concerts or for the Oceanbird Lounge.

Do you accept cash? 

The ABBA Arena is a completely cashless site. We accept all major credit and debit cards.
