Coors Brewery Tour

Coors Brewery Tour – Golden

The largest single brewery in the world, Coors Brewing Company, is located in downtown Golden. Tours and tastings are offered year-round and are open to guests of all ages as long as they are accompanied by an adult.

Explore a live working factory where every phase of the beer-making process is observed. The tours cost a fee and are self-guided with headsets available. There are learning stations around with pre-recorded descriptions. Reservations are required for all guests.

Hailing from Prussia, Adolph Coors, and Jacob Schueler established the brewery in Golden in 1873. The mountain on the Coors can is based on a Rocky Mountain peak in southwest Colorado.

Touring the Coors Brewery in Golden

There are two types of tours: self-guided (year-long) and guided tours (seasonally). The traditional 30-minute self-guided tour has educational stations and individual headsets. You get to enjoy a complimentary sample and three 10 oz beers afterward. During slower months, a live tour is given and they run for about 30 minutes.

You can also go on the Sampling-only tour where you go straight to the tasting room and try three complimentary beers. This is often what the locals do and you are free to partake in this tour daily. Enjoy some of Coors’s classic, seasonal, and even test-market beers. The whole operation lasts 1 – 1.5 hours including the shuttle, tour, and beer tastings. Drinking time may vary.

Getting There

Parking for the tour is located at 13th and Ford Streets, one block from the brewery. A free shuttle takes you downtown to the Coors factory and the driver usually tells you about the city of Golden on the way.

Tours and imbibing at the bar get busy during peak season, so plan weekdays and off-peak times when possible.

Nice short, self-guided tour of the Coors brewery. Included in your tour is 4 generous samples! The tour is completely free, but you do have to wait when it's busy. I definitely recommend if you have time!

coors sampling tour

Coors brewery was a great place to visit. It didn't give us an actual tour guide but the voice wands that they gave us did the job. You take a bus ride to the actual brewery app which it gives you a tour of downtown Golden. The final destination you are able to have three beers. Our choices were coors, coors light, blue moon, batch 19 and Killians Irish Red. Everything was free. Can't get better than that.

My husband and I have been on a lot of tours (probably over 20 brewery tours), and this is the first one we have attended that was not led by a live tour guide. We were given audio guides. Although it was nice to be able to skip steps, it did not provide that nice interaction with the employees and were not able to ask questions. We were able to get three full beers as a taste, and being so close to the mountains was awesome.

They have a really nice touch by adding a short trip around nearby Golden when you start the tour from their parking lot. They travel a few downtown streets and the driver personally (not a recording) gives you some history of the people, streets and buildings. In our case it was a cute, and very pleasant, young college student. The tour begins in a reception area, where your ID is checked (if you want to sample beer at the end) and you are presented with a museum-type listening device. It's keyed by numbers to various portions of the exhibits. You can go as fast or slow as you want. At the end there is beer for those who drink and soft drinks for the others or children. You must leave any bags in your car. Only wallets/purses are allowed. There is signage about this and they remind you at they area to wait for their tour bus. They take about 12 people per bus. For reference, I have been on four other major (not to be mentioned) brewery tours. This was up at the top!

What a waste of time. The only beer samples they offered were Coors Light, Coors Banquet, and Blue Moon. Save your time and visit the Budweiser Brewery where you have an actual guided tour with information and history and actual beer tasting of new and exciting beers. Coors should be embarrassed.

Interesting tour, but best part is end where you get your 3 free beers. They also give kids free soft drinks.

Moscow Metro

The Moscow Metro Tour is included in most guided tours’ itineraries. Opened in 1935, under Stalin’s regime, the metro was not only meant to solve transport problems, but also was hailed as “a people’s palace”. Every station you will see during your Moscow metro tour looks like a palace room. There are bright paintings, mosaics, stained glass, bronze statues… Our Moscow metro tour includes the most impressive stations best architects and designers worked at - Ploshchad Revolutsii, Mayakovskaya, Komsomolskaya, Kievskaya, Novoslobodskaya and some others.

What is the kremlin in russia?

The guide will not only help you navigate the metro, but will also provide you with fascinating background tales for the images you see and a history of each station.

And there some stories to be told during the Moscow metro tour! The deepest station - Park Pobedy - is 84 metres under the ground with the world longest escalator of 140 meters. Parts of the so-called Metro-2, a secret strategic system of underground tunnels, was used for its construction.

During the Second World War the metro itself became a strategic asset: it was turned into the city's biggest bomb-shelter and one of the stations even became a library. 217 children were born here in 1941-1942! The metro is the most effective means of transport in the capital.

There are almost 200 stations 196 at the moment and trains run every 90 seconds! The guide of your Moscow metro tour can explain to you how to buy tickets and find your way if you plan to get around by yourself.

Fun facts from our Moscow Metro Tours:

From the very first days of its existence, the Moscow Metro was the object of civil defense, used as a bomb shelter, and designed as a defense for a possible attack on the Soviet Union.

At a depth of 50 to 120 meters lies the second, the coded system of Metro-2 of Moscow subway, which is equipped with everything you need, from food storage to the nuclear button.

According to some sources, the total length of Metro-2 reaches over 150 kilometers.

The Museum was opened on Sportivnaya metro station on November 6, 1967. It features the most interesting models of trains and stations.

Coffee Ring

The first scheme of Moscow Metro looked like a bunch of separate lines. Listen to a myth about Joseph Stalin and the main brown line of Moscow Metro.

Zodiac Metro

According to some astrologers, each of the 12 stops of the Moscow Ring Line corresponds to a particular sign of the zodiac and divides the city into astrological sector.

Astrologers believe that being in a particular zadiac sector of Moscow for a long time, you attract certain energy and events into your life.

Paleontological finds

Red marble walls of some of the Metro stations hide in themselves petrified inhabitants of ancient seas. Try and find some!

  • Every day each car in  Moscow metro passes  more than 600 km, which is the distance from Moscow to St. Petersburg.
  • Moscow subway system is the  5th in the intensity  of use (after the subways of Beijing, Tokyo, Seoul and Shanghai).
  • The interval in the movement of trains in rush hour is  90 seconds .

  23. Private Moscow Metro Half Day Tour 2022

The Moscow Metro is one of the oldest in the world, as well as one of the most beautiful. As a visitor, it can be tricky to know which stations are must-sees, but this guided tour ensures that you see the best. Also, because it's a private tour, you don't need to feel self-conscious of being in a large tour group getting in commuters' way.
