i agree with kirilov and its REALLY DISAPPOINTING to believe 1 is buying tickets to see SCOTT BRADLEE with shows promoted as SCOTT BRADLEE'S POST MODERN JUKEBOX. its happened 2 of the 3 times ive gone. no one apparently has enough professionalism to do simple sound checks prior to the shows & frankly, as much as i love most the vocalists, it sucks not ever knowing which will be appearing and if scott bradlee will actually be there. better off waiting for a puddles, morgan james, hailey rhinehart or von smith concert
The concert is really good, musicians, singers all top quality. The venue I didn't like much, as the floor has not any elevation, which makes the life more difficult for those in the back (and near the bar!). Moreover, there are columns that blocks the view from the spectators. I would prefer to watch this concert in other venue, like in Hamemrsmith (Eventim Apollo).

Scott Bradlee’s Postmodern Jukebox: The Grand Reopening Tour
Special Guest: Constantine Maroulis
Postmodern Jukebox, the time-twisting musical collective known for putting “pop music in a time machine,” are set to make the ‘20s roar again! The Grand Reopening Tour will bring PMJ back to thrill music-starved audiences as they perform some of modern music’s biggest hits in the classic styles of bygone eras.
Scott Bradlee’s Postmodern Jukebox celebrates The Grand Reopening with a worldwide tour beginning in fall 2021
The pop-jazz phenomenon makes its long-awaited return to live performance with a celebration of the new Roaring 20s traveling across the U.S., Canada, U.K. and Europe
Early last year, pop-jazz phenomenon Postmodern Jukebox set out to celebrate a new-millennium Roaring 20s, promising audiences across the country and around the world “the most sensational ’20s party this side of The Great Gatsby.”
Well, we all know what happened next. Just seven dates into the Welcome to the Twenties 2.0 Tour , PMJ creator Scott Bradlee pulled the tour off the road and made the decision to postpone the remaining dates — many of them sold out — as a global pandemic took its toll, silencing live music for more than a year.
This fall, the wait is finally over and Postmodern Jukebox, the time-twisting musical collective known for putting “pop music in a time machine,” are set to make the ‘20s roar again! Kicking off in September, The Grand Reopening Tour will bring PMJ back to thrill music-starved audiences in the U.S., Canada, U.K., Europe, Australia and New Zealand, performing some of modern music’s biggest hits in the classic styles of bygone eras.
“I’m grateful to be able to create and collaborate with so many talented people, and playing live to a theater full of music fans is something that we’ve all really missed,” says Bradlee. “We’re fortunate to have so many incredible fans worldwide that have enabled PMJ to become a global touring act, and we’re looking forward to bringing outstanding talent and classic sounds to every corner of the globe once more. It’s a Grand Reopening, but it’s also a Grand Reunion – not just for our talented cast and crew, but also for PMJ and fans of classic, ‘Old School’ entertainment.”
As always with PMJ’s dazzling live shows, The Grand Reopening Tour will feature an ensemble of multi-talented singers and musicians bringing Bradlee’s generation-spanning arrangements alive night after night. The core ensemble is often joined by surprise guests to make each concert unique and unpredictable – making for one of the most thrilling live music experiences of this and any other time period. MusicInsight.com put it quite simply in the Before Times: “Go see Postmodern Jukebox. Stop whatever you’re doing, right now, and go see them!”
Over the past decade, Postmodern Jukebox has grown from a viral phenomenon into a worldwide juggernaut, amassing more than five million subscribers on their YouTube channel, growing from Bradlee’s tiny apartment in Astoria, Queens, to a Los Angeles studio befitting the bandleader’s increasingly ambitious vision. Most recently, PMJ reimagined the beloved theme from Friends via the evolution of music styles throughout the 20 th century – beginning in the Hot Jazz 1920s and climaxing in the 90s with a guest appearance by original “I’ll Be There For You” performers, The Rembrandts.
Meanwhile, Concord Records has released two Essentials compilations featuring PMJ classics from American Idol alum Haley Reinhart’s torch song rendition of Radiohead’s “Creep” to actor-comedian Wayne Brady’s Cab Calloway-inspired version of Michael Jackson’s “Thriller.” In 2018, Bradlee told his incredible story in his memoir, Outside the Jukebox: How I Turned My Vintage Music Obsession Into My Dream Gig .
Since embarking on a touring career in 2014, PMJ has performed on bigger and bigger stages as they’ve traversed the globe, including memorable shows at Radio City Music Hall in New York City. As the Houston Press proclaimed, “Scott Bradlee’s project has turned into a worldwide phenomenon in quite a small amount of time, having sold out shows in more than 60 countries around the world – and rightly so.”
For a band so deeply rooted in Jazz Age aesthetics – though their time warps have touched on virtually every major trend in popular music, from doo-wop to Motown to hair metal –the coming of another twenties was obviously a symbolic milestone. Ironically, the original Roaring 20s was itself ushered in by a worldwide flu pandemic.
“It’s crazy how history repeats itself,” Bradlee says, “and it’s striking that people back then reported the same feelings – everybody was beyond tired of being cooped up by themselves after weathering a long pandemic. They just wanted to get out there and dance and party and see each other again. Music has served such a valuable function of inspiring us and reminding us of our shared humanity throughout history, and there’s simply no substitute for gathering together to experience such a powerful force live.”

Based on the improving conditions in New Jersey, starting March 21 st , proof of vaccination will not be required. Masks remain strongly encouraged. Famed “Pop music in a Time Machine” concert act Postmodern Jukebox has announced a new World Tour to celebrate the dual milestone of their 10th anniversary of touring and their 1,000th show in 2024. Dubbed The ‘10’ Tour, the show will come to the UK to 18 venues across the country including York, Plymouth, Bournemouth, Glasgow, Cardiff, Liverpool and many more. The tour opens in Perth on 15 April.
Concertgoers can expect a dazzling, inspiring trip through the PMJ Universe — where modern-day earworms and iconic pop hits alike are reimagined in classic genres like 1920s jazz, Swing, Doo-wop and Motown, and brought to life by a cast of some of the world’s best singers, dancers, and instrumentalists. Think “The Great Gatsby” meets “Sinatra at the Sands” meets “Back! …To The Future”.
When pianist Scott Bradlee started the time-twisting musical collective from a basement apartment in Queens, NY, an online, “viral” success story was born —one that quickly led to sold out shows across North America and Europe in the Summer of 2014.
The touring act received rave reviews from industry publications and world-renowned artists alike. In the years that followed, “PMJ” built a reputation as the “Saturday Night Live of Singers” by introducing audiences to dozens of exceptional musical artists —many of whom had been previously overlooked by the modern record industry — and turning them into bonafide stars.
Ten years and two billion views on their YouTube channel later, a Postmodern Jukebox show has become something of an annual musical tradition for hundreds of thousands of dedicated fans all over the world — fans that often show up dressed to the nines in their vintage best, eager to immerse themselves in the experience.
“By the end of 2023, PMJ will have performed 937 shows in 44 countries across 5 continents,” says Bradlee, who creates the musical arrangements and directs the shows. “That kind of longevity in a notoriously fickle industry was completely unexpected for us. There’s no secret formula, other than an obsession for classic sounds and a commitment to showcasing phenomenal talent. We continue to feel honoured and humbled by our audiences’ support for this project, which continues to inspire us and push us to new heights of artistry. It’s the perfect marriage, and our 10th anniversary tour will be a celebration.”

Postmodern Jukebox: A musical time machine revives the jazz era
Scott Bradlee’s Postmodern Jukebox offers a riveting exploration into the history of the music world.

Afnan Abbassi , Staff Writer February 13, 2023
Postmodern Jukebox is a band that takes popular songs and alters their style to match different vintage genres. Founded by jazz pianist Scott Bradlee, the band intends to reinvent popular songs “in the light of classic and unfortunately ignored genres,” integrating styles ranging from the ’20s to ’60s into its covers. The band rose in popularity through its presence on YouTube — specifically thanks to its viral cover of Macklemore’s song “ Thrift Shop ” — and continues to release covers of songs by artists ranging from Taylor Swift to Chris Stapleton to the Backstreet Boys.
The band consists of pianist and music arranger Scott Bradlee, bassists Adam Kubota and Dave Tedeschi, drummer Arthur Vint and saxophonist Ben The Sax Guy. The vocalists change for each song, allowing the band to introduce singers on the rise as well as those who are better-known, regardless of whether they are jazz singers.
One of PMJ’s most popular covers, Radiohead’s “ Creep ,” is performed by “American Idol” finalist Haley Reinhart and amassed over 110 million views since its release date in 2014. While “Creep” is originally a rock song from 1992 mainly dominated by electric guitar, PMJ’s interpretation consists of a heavy use of piano and brass and woodwind instruments, initiating this song into the world of jazz. Reinhart’s deep, raspy voice intertwined with her whistle register allows for a multidimensional, yet well-balanced, auditory experience.
Not only does PMJ change the genre of the songs it performs, it also changes the style of their music videos to match with the recreated music genre. Furthermore, all of the band’s performances are filmed in a static camera shot, meaning that the entire video was recorded in one take. In “Creep,” the music video is in a black-and-white filter with a bordered vignette, allowing the brightness to center its focus on Reinhart and adding a vintage essence to the show.
In their music video “ STAY ,” PMJ performs in a ’50s diner-like setting. PMJ replaces the song’s original computerized beat with backup singers, a staccato piano technique and light incorporation of drums and electric guitar. There is a blue-and-pink filter on black-and-white tiles, and featured vocalist Freedom Young dances, smiles and sings in a light and playful voice, adding vibrancy to the video. The subtle improvisation emanates a home-like feeling, adding to the ’50s setting PMJ attempts to depict.
In a way, PMJ acts as a musical time machine. Reading about a specific time in history is one way to gain an understanding about how life was in the past. However, an immersive experience brings history to the personal lives of the viewer. PMJ could simply perform a cover of “I’d Rather Go Blind” by Etta James to lead their listeners to the ’60s era. Instead, they take a song that the present audience is familiar with and manipulate its style to fit a different moment in time.
PMJ changes the grunge and alternative rock form of “Creep” to a vintage jazz style dominantly present in the ’20s. They took “STAY,” a song written by pop artists less than two years ago, and manipulated it to make listeners feel as if it was released 70 years ago. PMJ flawlessly integrates the old and the new, the foreign and the familiar.
When one alters the structure of a song, they ultimately change the emotion emitted. The story in the song is still there — all that differs are the instrumental and stylistic elements. PMJ’s music videos feel alive, as if the band is performing for an audience right then and there. The music covers don’t sound superficial and forced; listeners can see and hear the subtle integration of the trumpet, or the faint-yet-consistent use of the bass. PMJ’s approach to improvisation in their recorded performances shows viewers that music does effectively have the ability to revive elements of the past.
