Educational school trips

At Equity, we believe that learning outside the classroom is an essential part of education. That’s why we work hard to provide curriculum-based trips for schools, each one specifically designed to bring your teaching to life.

Sometimes, things do go wrong on school ski trips

Supporting you every step of the way

Creating your perfect ski trip.

Launching your trip to parents and students

To get your ski trip off the ground, you’re going to have to create a bit of a buzz around it. Our free resources will help you do just that, so that SLT, parents and the kids themselves are all on board from the get-go.

After you've booked

Once your trip’s booked, one of our expert Itinerary Coordinators will get in touch to start planning the finer details. They’ll help you to make sure that there’s plenty to keep your skiers occupied both on and off the slopes.

After your trip

We’ll ask you to complete a feedback survey, which will help us to continue to improve the service we provide – hopefully, we’ll see you back on the slopes next year to experience this for yourself!

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does an average school ski trip cost.

This season, the average school ski trips cost between £730 and £950 per person. The actual price depends on several factors, including the resort, transportation, accommodation, dates, and number of ski lessons. Our school ski experts will work closely with you to tailor a package that suits your requirements and budget.

What should I bring on a school ski trip?

We’ve put together this handy resource on what to pack for your school ski trip, including an infographic and checklist to share with your students so that everyone remembers to pack the essentials.

How many days should schools spend skiing?

Most school groups choose 9-day trips with 4 hours of ski lessons per day over 6 days. However, you can save a significant amount of money if you opt for an 8-day trip with 5 hours of ski lessons per day over 5 days. As well as one extra hour on skis, you’ll also save money on one night’s accommodation and one day’s lift pass.

Are your ski trips accompanied by a rep?

Yes, all of our ski packages include the services of a Halsbury Ski rep. They’ll usually speak the local language, so they’ll be able to help you with any issues that might pop up with equipment, meals, ski passes, or evening meals, for example.

Do you offer insurance for school ski trips?

Yes, we do offer insurance and you can choose to add it when you book your trip. It’s an optional extra, so you don’t have to take it, but it’s specifically designed for school groups (so many of our groups do choose to add it). You can find out more about it on our insurance page . If you choose not to take this insurance, please make sure you have alternative, appropriate insurance in place for your group.

Can I go on an inspection visit ahead of the trip?

Absolutely – in fact, we’d encourage you to join us on one of our inspection visits before your next school ski trip. These visits are the perfect way to test-drive the Halsbury experience before you travel with your students. We usually arrange inspection visits twice a year – around Christmas and at Easter.

The Frank Ski Kids Foundation Announces Planet Green Scholars

For the first time since the program's establishment, the organization opened the application pool to students around the country.

The Frank Ski Kids Foundation has invited ten students on an all-expense paid trip to the Great Barrier Reef as part of its 2024 Planet Green Science Expedition, according to a press release shared with BLACK ENTERPRISE .

Students Jayla Nicholas, Austin Gill, Amiel Atwater-Grey, Zayda Sanda, Ava McCune, Jason Adeyemi, Laila Coleman, Neil Sethi, Valeria Gonzales, and Namir Gaskin were selected as this year’s scholars. The week-long immersive adventure will take place from June 17 to June 26.

While on the expedition, participants will study the impact that climate change has on the environment and expand their knowledge of environmental conservation.

Each applicant was required to write an essay explaining the Great Barrier Reef’s significance in the Earth’s ecosystem and read their submission before a panel of judges at Howard University and the Georgia Aquarium.

Since its inception 20 years ago, the Frank Ski Kids Foundation has offered young people the opportunity to develop crucial life skills through its hands-on educational voyages. Though it was previously limited to Georgia residents, this year, the Planet Green Science Expedition opened its application cycle to children from around the country.

Founder and Executive Director Frank Ski spoke about the program’s mission and intended impact. “We believe every child deserves the opportunity to explore the world and learn from its wonders,” he said.

According to the organization’s website, the FSKF presents kids with opportunities to learn about different subjects such as science, technology, athletics, and the arts outside of a traditional classroom.

“This contest is more than just a trip; it’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity,” Ski continued. “The yearly expeditions inspire young minds, cultivate a love for learning, and empower future generations to become responsible stewards of our planet.”

Beyond the Planet Green Science Expedition, the Frank Ski Kids Foundation also offers international art tours for young people and an annual athletic youth bowl for disadvantaged children. Donations to help fund the trip to the Great Barrier Reef, including flights, passports, meals, lodging, and apparel, can be made at frankskikids.org .
