The tour will finish inside of En Couleur Creperie on Ave Parc. The guide will give you suggestions or directions on where to go after.

Children are quite welcome and it's free for any child 2 years or under. We can give them drinks other than alcoholic and you are free to enjoy the tour with your entire family of all ages.

This is not a problem. Just book the alcohol free option before the tour. Just inform our guide before the tour starts.

Think of the tour as a tasting menu. As we travel you get many delicious treats that comprise a meal with dessert. But there is a lot of food, you will not be hungry after the tour.

Our tours are often sold out very quickly. If the date you requested is not available, please do not hesitate to email us and we can see if there is anything we can do. We cannot promise but we will try our best to sort something out for you.

To join our food tour, you must wear comfortable shoes. There will be around 35 mins of walking but it is not too difficult and is broken up between food stops. During the duration of the tour we will walk just over one kilometer. The guide walks at the pace of the tour members, you will never be rushed.

We take 10 people maximum. If you are more than 10 people, please do not hesitate to email us and we will try to see if we can accommodate.

You do not have to print your voucher. A confirmation on your phone will be fine!

But for those keen to delve deeper into local food culture — native Montrealers, new arrivals, and visitors alike — an afternoon or evening spent on a food walk with a savvy guide is a chance to learn (and taste) more.

Beyond the Market (Spade and Palacio)

Spade and Palacio’s co-founders worked as accredited tour guides for years before taking the plunge with their own business. “We got tired of wearing uniforms and spewing scripts,” says Danny Pavlopolous. He and Anne-Marie Pellerin offer various small group, unscripted tours by bike and on foot, focusing on art, architecture, history, and food. Their Beyond the Market tour is a three-hour exploration of the area surrounding Jean-Talon Market, with an emphasis on local small businesses.

From there, it’s off to a third-wave coffee roaster, finishing up with a southern fried chicken picnic in the Parc de la Petite Italie, weather permitting. “We knew people would come to the market, but wouldn’t necessarily explore too much nearby,” says Anne-Marie. “And that’s important.” They give a curated list of their favourite neighbourhood haunts to all visitors (plus a branded bag for market shopping) to ensure that participants know exactly where to go next time.

Taste of Chinatown With a Food Writer (Random Cuisine)

Chinatown offers a compact zone for tasting a range of regional Chinese flavours, and Victor Yu’s tour is a perfect introduction. The indefatigable Yu offers a three-hour tour peppered with information about the history of Montreal’s Chinatown and its food lore. Lee's recap of Toronto highlights the surges in business each restaurant has seen in the wake of his reviews — from the already popular Sumaq Iraqi Charcoal Grill getting even popular, to the 'if-you-know-you-know,' Old Nassau becoming a city staple.

Lee even highlights No. 1 Jerk , where he alleged he was served by a "hungover" staff member, who have since introduced a "Keith Lee Hour Hangover Special," in honour of the now-infamous review.

The food tour has included stops in Arizona, Hawaii, Washington, Texas and more so far, but Toronto has marked the first international stop for Keith Lee.

“We are committed to preserving and revitalizing architectural landmarks that enhance the attraction and livability of Toronto’s neighbourhoods, and we are so pleased to be opening the Waterworks Food Hall in the King West community,” said Eve Lewis, President and CEO of Woodcliffe Landmark Properties.

What to Expect from the Old Montreal Evening Food & Drink Tour?

Discovery and Team Building  — Famous landmarks and contemporary restaurants along your route reveal the layers of history in the area, giving you a chance to experience the authentic relationships between the tasting locations and locals, the people and places. Stops such as the Maison de Mère d’Youville and views of iconic Habitat 67 are the perfect backdrop for making memories together.

Tasting Locations

• Restaurant La Catrina:  Mexican restaurant that serves Mexican goodies and house crafted tequila cocktails. We start the evening with Al Pastor, Nopales or Fish tacos with a delicious margarita cocktail made of mescal. (vegetarian options available)
• Taverne Gaspar  – We start the evening with a little poutine and craft beer pairing. Crispy fries, pulled pork, fresh cheese curds and home made gravy sauce will be paired with a St-Ambroise glass of beer. Vegetarian and lactose intolerant options available. ​
• Café Nelli – This sophisticated bistro offers fresh, artful dishes that pair perfectly with a good glass of natural wine. We will have Tagliatelle Cacio e pep, which is pasta with fresh truffle, truffle paste pasta and parmigiano reggiano. Everything paired with a glass of natural red wine (5 onze). We finish at Café Nelli with a tiramisu desert. Non diary options available as well.

One-of-a-Kind Food and Drink Tastings  — After meeting at the initial tasting location, the tour takes you through the enchanting streets (and hidden locations) of beautiful, historic Old Montreal. Along the way, you’ll stop at some of the city’s best restaurants giving you the chance to taste a wide variety of both contemporary and traditional dishes as well as drinks paired perfectly to your meal. Tastings can include dishes from salad to pasta and poutine, offering a wide variety of flavours that a single restaurant would not capture.

Who Should Take the Old Montreal Evening Food & Drink Tour?

The Old Montreal Evening Food & Drink Tour is perfect for groups of 10 to 100+ people looking to share a meaningful and memorable experience whether you’re from out of town or call Montreal home. It’s a great, laidback way to build camaraderie among your team, or to celebrate a success or occasion. If you’re hosting an office party, corporate event, team building activity, family reunion, bachelor/ette party or any other gathering, the Old Montreal Evening Food & Drink Tour is sure to make it feel special. However, due to the nature of the tour, participants must be 18+, and unfortunately it is not wheelchair accessible.

Adults 18+ of all fitness levels, although this tour is unfortunately not wheelchair accessible.

The tour runs rain or shine, or extreme snow! However, we strongly recommend wearing appropriate clothes for the winter season.

The Old Montreal Evening Food & Drink Tour is NOT vegan friendly. We offer vegetarian, or gluten-free options.

The Old Montreal Evening Food & Drink Tour offers enough food to satisfy a dinnertime appetite! 

Tickets must be purchased 2 weeks in advance.

We do not recommend parking on the street, as the maximum is 2 hours, and our tour lasts 3 hours. There are paid parking lots nearby at 735 William Street, 687 St. Paul St. West and 720 St. Maurice St.

Duration: 3 hours and a 1.7-km walk

Includes: 6+ food stops including the #1 classic St. Viateur bagel. Come hungry enough for a hearty and satisfying lunch!
