After breakfast, set off for a full day excursion to Lake Tsomgo. The lake has an average depth of 50 feet. The beauty of the lake will leave you in a trance like state. Spend some romantic moments here. Continue the drive to Baba Mandir, a holy site. Return to Gangtok.

Direct flights to Bagdogra are available from Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad etc. From Bagdogra, travellers can continue to Gangtok by taxi cab. There is also a helicopter service between Bagdogra and Gangtok but it is subject to operation.

An airport has also been opened at Pakyong in Sikkim which is much closer to Gangtok, but as on date there are no flights operational to this airport.

By Train: The nearest railway station for Gangtok tourism is New Jalpaiguri (approx. 4 hours’ drive). Trains to New Jalpaiguri are available from a number of major Indian cities. From New Jalpaiguri, travellers can reach Gangtok by cab or by taking a bus from nearby Siliguri.

By Road: If you are planning a Darjeeling Gangtok tour package, or a road trip to Gangtok, you can also opt to reach Gangtok by cab or self-drive car from various other cities like Darjeeling etc.

Tsomgo Lake

This oval-shaped lake is highly revered by Buddhists as well as Hindus. The stunning lake lies surrounded by high snow-clad peaks and is fed by the melting ice nearby. Baba Mandir

Located between the Nathula and Jelep La Pass in Sikkim, Baba Mandir is a memorial that was built to pay homage to an Indian soldier Harbhajan Singh, who died during the Indo-Chinese War at Nathula-Darra in 1962. As per local belief, Baba Harbhajan Singh still guards the border between India and China. Many people also believe that the place has a healing spirit, and a bottle of water left there could cure illness after consumption. Indian nationals need to procure a permit to enter Baba Mandir. Foreign nationals are not allowed inside.

Nathula Pass

The famous Nathula Pass is 56 kilometers away from Gangtok and it usually requires a full day trip to completely experience the place. This spot was once a part of the historic Silk Route between India and Tibet. On the way to Nathula, visitors can also stop at the world's highest altitude ATM in Thegu. Due to the scarcity of oxygen in the air at the Nathula Pass, people with breathing problems or other health problems are recommended not to visit. Namgyal Institute of Tibetology

Established in the year 1958, the Namgyal Institute of Tibetology is a centre of Tibetan culture and history. It promotes research on the history, language, art, and culture of the Tibetan people. The foundation of the institute was laid by the 14th Dalai Lama and it was inaugurated by the late Prime Minister Pandit Nehru. The building is an excellent example of traditional Sikkimese architecture. The museum of the Institute exhibits a unique collection of statues, ancient manuscripts, paintings, and other relics.

Tashi View Point

Tashi Viewpoint on the outskirts of Gangtok offers a perfect view of the mountains. Built by the late Sikkimese king Tashi Namgyal, this famous Gangtok tourist spot offers picture-postcard views of Kanchenjunga snow peaks, the Phodong Monastery and the Labrang Monastery. Rumtek Monastery

Banjhakri Falls

Another pleasant Gangtok tourist place, the Banjhakri Waterfall offers a tranquil ambience to visitors inside a beautifully landscaped park called Energy Park. There is also a man-made lake here with a dragon figure at its centre. The park is dotted with numerous gazebos and elements of Sikkimese architecture. Bakthang Falls

Day 1 Bagdogra / New Jalpaiguri - Darjeeling

• Upon arrival at Bagdogra Airport / New Jalpaiguri Railway Station, you will be greeted and transferred to Darjeeling (95 kilometers/3 hours). 
• Darjeeling, India’s former summer capital, is a country of endless diversity and charm. 
• It will provide you with a unique blend of vibrant nature and attractive Himalayan people. 
• It is the home of Dorje, the Lama-mystic Religion’s thunderbolt. 
• This little village is surrounded by tea plants and faces some of the Himalayas’ highest peaks. 
• Take a break and then go for a walk around town to get a feel for the new culture you’ve discovered.

Day 2 Local Sightseeing in Darjeeling: two points (04:00–07:00) and the greatest points (9.30 AM to 1.30 PM or 2.00 PM to 6.00 PM)

• Early in the morning, go to Tiger Hill to see the stunning sunrise and its incredible effects on Mt. Kanchendzonga (the world’s third highest peak), then visit Ghoom Monastery (SUBJECT TO AVAILABILITY).

Day 3 Darjeeling to Gangtok

• Transfer to Gangtok in the morning (105 km/4 hours). Gangtok, the capital of the state of Sikkim, is a lovely and clean town with some of the greatest monasteries and sceneries in the world. 
• Overnight at the hotel, with the evening free for own activities and relaxation.

Day 4 Tsomgo Lake and Baba Mandir

• Excursion AM start for a half-day journey to Tsomgo Lake (12400ft), which is only 32 kilometres from Gangtok City. 
• The lake is over one kilometre long, oval in shape, and 15 metres deep. 
• The lake is revered by the locals, and 12 kilometres away lies the Baba Mandir, which is dedicated to the soldier Harbhajan Singh. 
• Free evening in Gangtok for shopping and personal activities.

Day 5 Transfer to Kalimpong & Sightseeing in the Area

• After breakfast, proceed to Kalimpong (80 kilometres / 02 hours) for a half-day local sight-seeing tour of Zong Dog Palri Fo-Brong Monastery (Durpin Dara Monastery), Flower & Orchid Nurseries, and Dello Hill.

Day 6 Kalimpong - Bagdogra / New Jalpaiguri

Day 01: NJP Railway Station / Bagdogra Airport – Darjeeling (88 Km / 03 hrs drive):

As you will be arriving at the NJP Railway Station/Bagdogra Airport, you will be greeted by our executive who has already arranged your Darjeeling arrival in a comfortable vehicle. On reaching Darjeeling, check-in at the hotel. Have some rest, and enjoy the rest of your day on leisure activities inside the hotel. You can take a romantic stroll at the M.G. Marg. Overnight stay at the Darjeeling hotel.

Day 02: Darjeeling Sightseeing Places:

Wake up early around 4:00 AM, and start your Darjeeling sightseeing by visiting the most famous sunrise point - Tiger Hill. Admire the spellbinding views of the sunrise while the majestic Mt Kanchenjunga peak is setting the perfect backdrop. On the way back to your hotel, you must visit the Ghoom Monastery and Batasia Loop. Today, you will be having your breakfast early, and start for venturing on a guided tour to Tsogmo Lake. Tsogmo Lake is the beautiful glacial lake, located at the height of 12,310 ft. The lakes reflect the grandiose peaks of the Himalayas while the water is inky blue. After your visit to Tsomgo Lake, visit the Baba Harbhajan Singh Memorial Temple and make some divine prayers. The temple is known in the name of Harbhajan Singh, who died defending our country on the Nathu La Pass. After your full day sightseeing of Tsomgo Lake and Baba Mandir, come back to the hotel. Overnight stay at the Gangtok hotel.

Day 05: Gangtok Local Sightseeing Palces – Pelling (120 Kms/05 hrs):

End your Gangtok sightseeing adventure, wake up early, and relieve your hunger with the tasty breakfast. Start your exploration and pay a visit to the old Buddhist monasteries. Be prepared to wow by the impeccable view of the Gangtok Valley from Ganesh Tok Point. If left with the time, you can make your way to the Hanuman Tok and Tashi View Point.
