Peter Kay announces more tour dates: Here are the venues and sale date so you don’t miss out
By natalie zamora | dec 14, 2022.
Peter Kay’s been on top of the world since he finally returned to the spotlight after a years-long break, and his current comedy tour proves just that. As fans of the English comedian will remember, he famously canceled his standup gigs in 2017 to be with his family and was rarely seen in the media after that. Well, whatever happened, we’re glad he’s in a better place now and is performing once again!
His fans were absolutely thrilled when the 49-year-old Car Share star announced a comeback tour this year, and it looks like he seriously underestimated his popularity because the shows have been selling out left and right! In November in anticipation of his gigs, fans went to the O2 Priority site to purchase pre-sale tickets, but were super frustrated when the site crashed! That forced Kay to add more tour dates , and now, he’s done the same thing again!
This is great news for fans who have still been unable to nab tickets to see the one and only Peter Kay on stage in the flesh. So here’s what you need to know if you’re in that boat.
How to buy Peter Kay comedy tour tickets
According to the site Planet Radio , Kay’s tour began in early December 2022 and is now already scheduled to run through 2025! He’s added a handful of shows in the UK through November 2025. See the newly-announced shows below:
- Sunday, January 29, 2023: Glasgow’s OVO Hydro
- Monday, January 30, 2023: Newcastle’s Utilita Arena
- Friday, October 6, 2023: Birmingham’s Utilita Arena
- Friday, November 17, 2023: Sheffield’s Utilita Arena
- Saturday, December 2, 2023: Manchester’s AO Arena
- Friday, December 15, 2023: Leeds’ First Direct Arena
- Thursday, March 20, 2025: London’s The O2
- Monday, October 6, 2025: Nottingham’s Motorpoint Arena
- Saturday, October 22, 2025: Liverpool’s M&S Bank Arena
To purchase tickets to see Kay in his newly-added shows, they go on sale this Sunday, December 11 at 10:00 a.m.

How to get tickets for Peter Kay’s 2023 tour
New dates have just been added due to unprecedented demand
Peter Kay, the iconic Bolton-born comic, will be performing his first live tour in more than a decade in 2024. The comedian holds the 2010 Guinness Book of World Records for the biggest-selling comedy tour of all time, so you can bet that getting your hands on some tickets this time round is going to be tricky (but worth it).
When the first batch of tickets went live, O2 and Virgin said the sale was ‘by far the highest demand we’ve ever seen for priority tickets in 15 years’ and the O2 priority ticket website crashed as a result. More dates were added to the tour, but for any disappointed fans who couldn’t tickets for any of those either, we’ve got great news. Kay added 11 new dates in 2023-2025, bringing the total number of shows to 121 for the ‘Better Late Than Never’ tour.
These dates span Glasgow, Newcastle, Birmingham, Sheffield, Manchester, Leeds, London, Dublin, Belfast, Nottingham and Liverpool, so there’s bound to be one vaguely nearly you.
If you’re planning to catch one of Kay’s live shows as he tours the country in 2024, h ere’s everything to know about his return and how to get tickets.

When do new Peter Kay tour tickets go on sale?
Peter Kay has just announced 11 new dates for 2023, 2024 and 2025. Tickets for the latest dates go live on Sunday December 11 2022 at 10am .
How can I get tickets?
Tickets are available on Ticketmaster , See Tickets and the Ticket Factory .
H ow much do tickets cost?
Luckily, Peter Kay understands that times are hard as the cost-of-living crisis continues to squeeze our wallets, which is why he’s said he will be keeping the price of tickets the same as his previous tours: they start from £35.
Why did the last tour get cancelled?
This tour is a comeback after the comedian cancelled a 14-month long stand-up tour back in 2017.
In a statement on Twitter at the time, Kay said: ‘Due to unforeseen family circumstances I deeply regret that I am having to cancel all of my upcoming work projects.’
What has he said about the tour?
Kay said: ‘It’s good to get back to what I love doing best, standup comedy, and if there’s ever a time people need a laugh it’s now.
‘And with the cost of living at an all-time high, ticket prices are starting from £35. The same price they were on my previous tour in 2010.’
Kay also said that he couldn’t believe that the original tour announcement had made headline news and that he was ‘overwhelmed’ by the reaction from fans. ‘I should only be on the news if I’m dead, not on tour!’ he said.
Is he doing a special residency in London?
Peter Kay will perform a monthly residency at London’s O2 Arena in Greenwich, starting on December 16 and running until November 18 2023. The venue has a capacity of 20,000.
Where are the shows on the tour?
Peter Kay’s tour will start on December 2 2022 at the Manchester AO Arena, and his run will end on August 11 2023 at the Utilita Arena Sheffield. There will then be five further dates across 2025. The tour will travel through Birmingham, Liverpool, Leeds, Belfast, Newcastle, Dublin, Cardiff and Glasgow.

Re-sellers flogging tickets for more than £1,050 already
Viagogo has Peter Kay tickets for more than £1,000 for the Manchester date. DO NOT BUY FROM HERE.
I can't stress this enough, please don't buy from a re-seller. If you are struggling with pre-sale today you can wait for general sale on Saturday. Or Ticketmaster offer their own re-selling service which will be available after Saturday's general sale.
More dates?
Could more dates be added here?
Demand is intense, so surely Kay will want to please fans and add a few more dates into the tour? He is doing a monthly residency at London's O2 so it could be possible.
More to come.
No Three agents available for help
One fan has just messaged me to say that she tried asking for some help from Three Mobile due to the app crashing for the Peter Kay tour and apparantely no agents are available on the live chat.
Debbie said: "Been trying to either get into the Three+ app or when you’re finally in… “something went wrong”. I attempted an E-Chat and amazingly, no agents are available right now. I dont think Three want to honour their offer!"
If you struggle today...
If you're struggling to get pre-sale tickets today you'll have another chance on Saturday when the general sale takes place at 10am.
There will also be three ticketing websites to choose from too for the general sale, these will be:

O2 Priority 'recovering'
The O2 Priority is slowly getting back on its feet but it's being very temperamental this morning due to demand for Peter Kay.
My app is currently giving me a "Gateway Time-out" error message but I've seen other fans being let in.
There's less than 20 minutes to go now, this is getting intense.

Tickets for Peter Kay's tour at Manchester's AO Arena have been confirmed. Prices for the show will start from £35, rising to £135 for the most expensive seats.

Peter Kay announces first live tour in 12 years
Comedian will kick off with shows in Manchester later this year as tickets go on sale on 12 November
Peter Kay has announced his first live standup tour in 12 years.
Tickets will go on sale for the UK gigs at 10am on 12 November from his website, following an announcement on the comedian’s Twitter account.
Kay, whose tour will start on 2 December at the Manchester AO Arena, said: “It’s good to get back to what I love doing best, standup comedy and if there’s ever a time people need a laugh it’s now.
“And with the cost of living at an all-time high, ticket prices are starting from £35. The same price they were on my previous tour in 2010.” Kay made it into the Guinness World Records for that tour with the biggest selling run of all time, playing to more than 1.2 million people.
In an accompanying video to promote his new dates, the comic is carrying a roll of carpet and tells a fan in a vehicle about the tour.
It includes his famous line “garlic bread – it’s the future” and makes reference to his Mum Wants a Bungalow Tour in 2002.
The tour includes dates in Birmingham, Liverpool, Leeds, Belfast, Newcastle, Dublin, Cardiff and Glasgow.
His run will end on 11 August 2023 at the Utilita Arena Sheffield.
The tour was announced during an advert break on ITV’s I’m A Celebrity … on Sunday night. A poster for the event featured Kay holding a sign reading, “Better late than never” and described a ticket to his shows as an “ideal Christmas gift”.
Following the announcement, Kay’s official website appeared to crash briefly under increased online traffic.
In late 2017, the comedian cancelled his first live tour in eight years due to “unforeseen family circumstances”. He had been scheduled to tour the UK for more than a year.
after newsletter promotion
Kay has been largely out of the spotlight since a surprise appearance at a charity screening of his series Car Share in 2018.
The Bolton-born comic made a brief return in January 2021 when he appeared on BBC Radio 2 to speak to presenter Cat Deeley about his love of music, mixtapes and the musical Mamma Mia!.
In August last year, he appeared at two charity gigs at the Apollo in Manchester to raise money for Laura Nuttall, 22, who has an aggressive type of brain cancer called glioblastoma multiforme.
Kay rose to fame with mockumentary series That Peter Kay Thing and later masterminded shows including Phoenix Nights and Car Share.

End of live blog
That's the end of our live blog today, what a crazy ride its been just hope the general sale goes better for fans.
The pre-sale is avilable until early Saturday morning and ends when general sale starts at 10am, we'll be back with more updates then.
Thanks for following.
How to prep for general sale on Saturday
As we've seen the demand boom for Peter Kay today it's only bound to get busier on the general sale this Saturday.
General starts this November 12 at 10am and tickets can be bought from SeeTickets and Ticketmaster . Here's a few tried and tested tips to get ahead of the online ticket queues.
Tips for getting Peter Kay tickets:
- Join the waiting room at 09:45
- Join the queues on as many sites as possible, multiple borwsers and on more than one device
- Phone apps, like Ticketmasters app are often quicker
- Be cautious of demand based tickets - the more people online the more the prices will rise
- If you miss out on tickets only buy tickets through official resale platforms
- Know when to refresh - before queue starts is good but NOT once you have joined queue
Be back soon
We're taking a short break from the blog and will be back soon with more updates.
We'll be keeping our eyes peeled for more Newcastle dates, fingers crossed!
In the meantime comment below and let us know how you're getting on, we've not had much success ourselves over here.
Fans are having issues getting accessible tickets on pre-sale
Accessible tickets are reserved for fans in wheelchairs, accompanied by a carer or need extra assistance accessing the venue. Fans can get a carer for free if they buy one accessible ticket (which are usually same price as general seating).
In general sales these tickets are listed but not all fans have been able to find themduring today's pre-sale. According to O2 Priority's website the accessible tickets vary depending on the venue and the different layout but we've seen fans have issues on Three and O2.
@sseairtricity @SSEBelfastArena and @TicketmasterIre can you please help me understand why it was not possible to buy #accessible tickets for @peterkay_co_uk in the presale this morning? The option just wasn’t available and I was on before 10am. Thank you #DisabilityTwitter pic.twitter.com/LWkUvrfOVK — Mary-Elaine McCavert (CP&M-E) she/her (@MaryEMcCavert) November 10, 2022
Another update for O2 Prioirty users
There still seems to be issues accessing the pre-sale ticket codes on the app, we've tried and it still isn't loading.
Both Virgin Media and O2 phone network users should have been able to buy tickets through O2 Priority today.
Disgraceful made over 190 phone calls to the accessible line to get my son a wheelchair ticket Peter Kay his hero ! Also in the priority waiting room since 08.30 crashed sight as big companies yet again have the monopoly of the seats!! Now selling for £100’s @peterkay_co_uk — Theresa Brown (@Theresa70358063) November 10, 2022
New dates added to Manchester
There's also been a handful of new dates added to Manchester's show lineup on SeeTickets and Ticketmaster .
Fans can get pre-sale tickets today for the December 2 and 3 shows but seven more dates will be available to buy in the general sale this Saturday.
Fingers crossed for more Newcastle dates.
// JUST ANNOUNCED @peterkay_co_uk confirms SEVEN new roll dates for @AOArena - 22 & 23 September, 19 & 20 October, 5 & 6 November and 1 December 2023! Tickets will be available from 10AM Saturday 12 November. https://t.co/iemwrTORZm pic.twitter.com/n8Xa6Nl4wJ — AO Arena (@AOArena) November 10, 2022
New dates confirmed for other venues
Four new dates have been added to Birmingham's list of shows at the Utilita Arena.
Peter Kay will now play six shows in the city in December, March, June, July and August, you can see the full new dates on SeeTickets.
No new dates have been added to Newcastle's Utilita Arena just yet.
Could another pre-sale be on the cards?
Could there be another pre-sale option added?
With so many issues today and thousands missing out on tickets could another pre-sale option be added? Other arena tours this year have sometimes included up to five different pre-sale options from American Express, different venue pre-sales for each region and even Spotify.
How to get pre-sale tickets on Gigs and Tours?
We've recieved a lot of questions as to how fans managed to buy pre-sale tickets on Gigs and Tours.
Although not originally down as a pre-sale ticket retailer it seems some fans are having success in today's sale so it's only worth a try.
- Refresh, refresh and refresh
I googled O2 Priority Peter Kay and the venue I wanted and used that link. It brought the error page up but a lot of refreshing and the venue page came up eventually with the link to Gigs and Tours and in I went. — Chris O'Keeffe (@8chrisOKeeffe8) November 10, 2022
Fans outraged by £900+ tickets
The resale prices are astronomical.
One fan tweeted: "How are Peter Kay tickets already on resale for £900+? It's a joke. Should of not allowed resale"
Another fan shared a reaction to what seems to be an increased number of 'bot' fans this morning.
@peterkay_co_uk @TheO2 #peterkay @axs Already tickets on resale site @viagogo for WAAAAY over the odds #StopTheBots pic.twitter.com/jsGgtbJQ8t — Dean Heckley (@DeanHeckley) November 10, 2022
Re-sale tickets going for £900
Again 'fans' trying to make profit are at it again as resale tickets are starting to be listed.
It happened with Harry Styles, Coldplay and almost every other major ticket annoucement this year as people try to make a profit off desperate fans.
Prices are already being listed on Viagogo for more than £900 PER TICKET!
Other ticket sales?
With pre-sale proving to be difficult today there's still another sale date this week.
General sale starts this Saturday, November 12 on SeeTickets and Ticketmaster but as queues reach high numbers today fans will have to be quick.
Ticket queue tips
- Joining the waiting room can boost your space in the queue - opens 15 minutes before each sale on Ticketmaster
- Refreshing your browser before joining the queue can be beneficial but NOT once you have joined
- Join on more than one device and for more than one date
- Be flexibile with venues
There's some ticket success
Even with the app glitches some fans have been able to buy tickets this morning.

An update from O2
The sheer number of people trying to get tickets is causing tech issues on the O2's app.
We’re seeing unprecedented demand for Peter Kay tickets & we know a lot of you can’t access Priority. Sorry, we’re working on it. Please be patient; this is by far the highest demand we’ve ever seen for Priority Tickets in 15 years. The presale lasts for 48h so keep checking. — O2 (@O2) November 10, 2022
What's the queue looking like?
There's currently 5,674 people in the online queue for the two Newcastle shows.
We're expecting this number to rise as the mobile app issues are resolved, whatever you do don't refresh the browser otherwise you'll lose your place.
Pre-sale tickets are LIVE
You can now buy tickets on Ticketmaster, as the pre-sale queue has opened.
Join the online queue here
Three users struggling to get onto app
Three users are also having issues getting on to pre-sale.
Fans have quoted this when trying to get onto the app:
'Connection closed before full header received'
With four minutes to go we just hope the tech issues will all resolve. For fans struggling to get on we suggest keep refreshing the app or maybe try joining on another device
Join now to get ahead in the queue
There's not long to go now, 10 minutes, which means Ticketmasters waiting room is now open.
This is an additional holding space which lets you can join and when the queue opens at 10am you will automatically be placed in the queue. It gives you a chance to open up another tab, have a think about where you want to sit and of course calmes the nerves just a little bit.

Choose your spot in the crowd
Peter Kay will stand up in Newcastle on March 9 and 10 2023 at the Utilita Arena.
Pre-sale will start in just 15 minutes time, but before it does it could be worth having a look at the stadium layout. As thousands are expected to rush on to buy tickets your wanted tickets may go quicker than expected.
Confirmed ticket prices
Peter Kay confirmed himself that tickets will start from £35, keeping prices as low as possible with the cost of living.
Prices have now been confirmed for the Newcastle shows which start from as little as £35 but rise to as much as £135. Other seated ticket prices range between £50 and £65. Due to ticket sites 'demand based pricing systems' the lowest £35 tickets could rise as more people flock to online queues.
Tickets go on sale at 10am, on Ticketmaster or SeeTickets .
How to get pre-sale tickets with Three
There's just over half an hour to go until the pre-sale starts on Ticketmaster and SeeTickets.
Fans with Three Mobile are able to buy tickets early as long as they have access to the Three+ mobile app. On here you can get a uniqe Peter Kay access code, which has to be entered in on Ticketmaster or SeeTickets to enable you to buy tickets today.
It's a fairly simple process, just ensure you keep an eye out for your access code and save it. To avoid invalidating the code make sure you buy the tickets first time as soon as you reach the front of the queue.
O2 Priority issues
Pre-sale tickets should be available for fans with O2 Prority or Three Mobile but it seems issues have already started.
A lot of fans are having difficulties getting onto O2 Priority as the app experiences technical issues just 45 minutes before tickets go on sale.
@O2 trying to log in to priority server down this is even before 9.30am how can priority customers even try and get tickets when they can’t log in ? pic.twitter.com/YtkJ1vOV9g — Melanie Dunsford (@MelDunsford) November 10, 2022

Peter Kay ‘in disbelief’ as he postpones Manchester shows again with £365,000,000 venue in chaos
Share this with
Peter Kay has admitted he’s in ‘disbelief’ over having to postpone two major gig dates yet again thanks to issues with Manchester’s new £365million Co-op Live arena .
Fans had initially been enraged after discovering the comedian’s two gigs in Manchester had been postponed due to power supply issues at the venue with just 24 hours notice on Monday.
The 50-year-old’s gigs scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday of this week (April 23 and 24), were originally rescheduled for Monday 29 and Tuesday 30 April.
However, the Phoenix Nights star was forced to take to social media again on Friday to reveal that those dates would no longer be possible either because the stadium ‘still isn’t ready’.
New dates are set for late May.
Kay wrote in a statement he posted to X: ‘To everybody with tickets, my apologies once again but unfortunately the Co-op Live still isn’t ready and so, as yet, remains untested for a large-scale audience.
‘Consequently, they are having to reschedule my two shows yet again,’ he continued, adding in brackets: ‘I know I can’t believe it either.’
He then revealed that the first two available dates for the rescheduled shows wereThursday May 23 for the rescheduled Monday April 29 gig, and Friday May 24 for the show that had been pushed to Tuesday April 30.
‘Tickets will be transferred, or refunds given if the new dates aren’t suitable.’
Sharing in many of his fans’ feelings, he concluded: ‘It’s very disappointing but your safety is important, and I won’t compromise that.’
Co-op Live also posted an update on the social media site, revealing that The Black Keys’ show had also been pushed.

‘Since making the difficult decision to postpone the live shows at Co-op Live due to take place this week, we have been undertaking an extensive protocol of testing critical procedures to ensure all areas are ready for fans,’ the venue’s statement began.
The venue then praised Kay and The Black Keys for ‘graciously’ agreeing to reschedule their shows, with the band now due to perform on May 15 instead.
‘We deeply appreciate the impact this will have on excited fans, and sincerely apologise for the inconvenience that this change will undoubtedly cause.’
The official account went on to explain that postponing the shows ‘will give us the extra time we need to continue testing enhanced emergency communications thoroughly’.
‘This is vital to satisfy the rigorous set of guidelines and protocols that are necessary for a venue of this size to ensure that our fans, artists and staff have the safest experience possible.’

The arena’s general manager Gary Roden announced his resignation on Thursday after a slew of issues led to a delay in the opening of what will be the UK’s biggest indoor arena.
Co-op Live Arena confirmed to the BBC that Roden had resigned, shortly after his comments to the broadcaster, in which he claimed grassroots music venues were often ‘poorly run’.
A statement from the arena to the news organisation said it does not ‘share the sentiment’ expressed by its now-former general manager and that ‘Co-op Live remains committed to grassroots music in Manchester and beyond’.
The statement also thanked Mr Roden for his ‘help bringing the UK’s newest arena to live entertainment fans and wish him the best for the future’.
As per the statement to the BBC, Rebecca Kane Burton, an ex-boss of London’s O2 Arena, will step in as interim general manager.
The venue, built by developer the Oak View Group, was given planning permission in 2020 and boasted an investment from popstar Harry Styles .
The initial postponement after the Co-op Live’s first test event on Saturday had frustrated fans over the lack of notice.
@Thicktighnolie said: ‘Please tell me why I am finding this out on flipping TWITTER and have not been emailed?’
@StevieJVega quipped: ‘Rebrand to coop almost live.’
‘WOW ! Test event Saturday and 2 days later you decide to cancel at midday ! Who will compensate my hotel and rail fare I no longer need ! And to add insult we can’t make next week !! Disgusting and still not been told by ticketmaster,’ @dunkmat added.
A statement posted on Peter’s official X page earlier this week had explained: ‘Following Coop Live’s first test event on Saturday, regretfully the venue operators have made the difficult decision to reschedule the two opening performances by Peter Kay.
‘These dates will move from 23 April and 24 Wednesday to Monday 29 and Tuesday 30 April.’
Co-op Live also shared a statement on their X account and told followers they decided to push back Peter’s stand-up gigs after a test event on Saturday.
An important update from Co-op Live. Following our first test event on Saturday, regretfully we have made the difficult decision to reschedule our two opening performances by Peter Kay. These dates will move from 23 April and 24 Wednesday to Monday 29 and Tuesday 30 April. pic.twitter.com/SxW50Ph5hm — Co-op Live (@TheCoopLive) April 22, 2024

The company said the reason behind the postponement was a lack of a ‘consistent’ total power supply for their ‘fully electric sustainable venue’.
Co-op Live said all tickets were still valid and ticket holders would be contacted by their point of purchase.
Refunds will also be available for those we can no longer attend.
‘We are very sorry for the inconvenience that this change will undoubtedly cause for some,’ the statement said.
Peter’s tour Better Late Than Never is his first stand-up run in 12 years and was unsurprisingly met with astonishing demand for tickets.
Following the announcement of his return to showbiz, Peter was overwhelmed by all the support.

‘I’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who came to the first shows in Manchester. It was incredible to be a part of such a happy experience,’ he said.
‘Everybody deserves a bit of joy. Here’s to a lot more shows to come!!’
Despite re-sellers flogging tour tickets on for hundreds, even thousands, of pounds, the performer had tried to keep costs low.
The performer previously promised to match prices from his last arena tour in 2010, emphasising that he wanted to help people amid the cost-of-living crisis.
