The Grand Tour release date speculation: When is Zimbabwe episode out?

The Zimbabwe special will be The Grand Tour's last episode.

The Grand Tour is coming to an end with its upcoming Zimbabwe special.

The boys tried their hand at desert travel in the last episode, Sand Job, which was released in February and which saw them battle extreme heat in less than optimal rides. There were surprises , literal minefields, and even an encounter with some Ebola-carrying bats.

We can bet Zimbabwe will throw a few curveballs their way, too. The upcoming will be The Grand Tour's last, Prime Video has confirmed, after Jeremy Clarkson confirmed he was leaving the series.

Have the trio decided what's next, then? Well, Richard Hammond recently told RadioTimes.com he would be cycling around the Himalayas .

As for James May, the host did offer fans a glimmer of hope for a reunion, saying, "I wouldn’t rule [a reunion] out, but you do have to bear in mind that we’re all getting on a bit. I have been doing it for 20 years plus and I don’t think any of us ever thought it would last that long.”

Luckily, we have their farewell episode to enjoy still. But what can viewers expect from the Zimbabwe special? Read on to find out everything we know.

When will the next episode of The Grand Tour be released?

James May, Jeremy Clarkson and Richard Hammond all stood in the desert with their hands on their hips

Prime Video has yet to confirm when the Zimbabwe special will land, but it's expected to be released later in 2024 .

Filming for the episode, which will follow on from February's Mauritanian trip, Sand Job, took place in September 2023.

The Grand Tour locations

The trio have previously filmed in far-flung locations such as Colombia, Vietnam and Switzerland - and this time will be no different.

The newest instalment will see the trio head back to Africa. February saw them visit Mauritania, country in the Northwest of the continent, and the final episode will take them to Zimbabwe.

Speaking of the location, Clarkson said: "I love deserts, so I've always wanted to do the Sahara, but it's difficult to go there; you can't go to Mali or Libya or Algeria or Chad. You can't go to the top of Nigeria.

"And then it was really a question of finding the most inappropriate cars for trans-Sahara travel, and I think we did a pretty good job on that."

The Grand Tour: Sand Job — release date, trailer, destinations, interviews and everything we know

The Grand Tour: Sand Job on Prime Video sees Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May head to the Sahara to recreate the legendary Paris-Dakar rally.

The Grand Tour: Sand Job on Prime Video follows the route of the famous Paris/Dakar rally.

The Grand Tour: Sand Job is Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May’s penultimate Grand Tour adventure on Prime Video. In this feature-length special the trio drive 1,000 miles across the Sahara Desert in north west Africa.

They will attempt to recreate the last leg of the iconic Paris-Dakar rally, starting in the little-known former French colony of Mauritania in west Africa and ending in Dakar, on the coast of Senegal. It was known as the most dangerous rally in the world and, to make the challenge even harder, the trio will make the arduous trip in second-hand sports cars they have modified themselves. They face impenetrable mountain terrain, 48C heat, landmines and temperamental cars that look unlikely to make it to the finish line, but they make sure there’s plenty of fun to be had along the way.

“I think we all wondered if it was going to be a little bit too difficult for the cars that we’d chosen,” admits James May. “The Paris-Dakar race was a very gruelling thing. I've never been quite sure why people did it because it must have been really tough and quite risky. The people who did it have a sort of mad hero status.”

Here’s everything you need to know about the former Top Gear team's own version of the rally in Prime Video documentary The Grand Tour: Sand Job …

The Grand Tour: Sand Job.

The Grand Tour: Sand Job release date

The Grand Tour: Sand Job is a feature-length special that launched globally on Prime Video on Friday, February 16, 2024.

Is there a trailer for The Grand Tour: Sand Job?

Yes there's a trailer for The Grand Tour: Sand Job which shows the boys doing what they love best... playing about in cars, in a remote part of the world! Take a look below...

What happens in The Grand Tour: Sand Job

in The Grand Tour: Sand Job , Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond are taking second-hand sports cars they have modified themselves on a grueling drive from Mauritania in western Africa to Dakar, Senegal to recreate the final 1,000 miles of the legendary Paris-Dakar rally. They will be driving through a Foreign Office classified danger "red-zone" and facing everything from vertical drops and unreachable borders to landmines and the threat of hideous diseases. They plan to do some camping along the way and try to cram in as much motoring fun as possible.

They'll be camping in dangerous territory.

Interview with Richard Hammond on The Grand Tour: Sand Job

Richard Hammond also presents shows such as Richard Hammond’s Workshop , Richard Hammond’s Crazy Contraptions and The Great Escapists . He presented Total Wipeout and Blast Lab and voiced Nigel in the cartoon Phineas and Ferb .

You like camping, so filming The Grand Tour: Sand Job must have been heaven for you?  Richard Hammond says: "I’m such a boy scout. I'm never happier than when I'm packing my bag and I'm wrapping up my best pen knife and a collapsible stove and a little bag to put things in to keep them dry. I like a sleeping bag and a torch. I love all things to do with camping. Obviously, there are a lot of us to be catered for and we can’t just be let loose into the wild. It’s organised. But there were evenings when it was quieter and things were smaller, and I was in my funny little tent on my car on my own and I'm very, very happy doing that."

Did you also look forward to the challenge of driving across the desert?  Richard says: "I mean, I love an Aston Martin, I love long travel suspension, and I love the way a car can adapt to and absorb terrain. Honestly, I can be moved close to tears if I get into a proper Dakar racer. To feel the way the car is, in almost an animal way, adjusting to the terrain underneath: I find that really powerful and really profound. I love the freedom that it gives you. To look across the landscape and say: I want to go over there really bloody quickly, and I’m going to, thanks to this machine. So yes, I was very excited by this project."

Your car was rather challenging on this journey, wasn’t it? Richard says: "There was the odd issue. It turns out an elderly V12 engine isn’t the best place to start when you want a rugged machine for crossing deserts. A Toyota Landcruiser is where people ordinarily go, not a hand-built, British-engineered luxury GT. I did ask quite a lot of my car. The problem with my car, as you see in the special, is that it came from an era just as the whole idea of computers running the show was taking hold. So, cars were becoming clever but mine hadn't become quite clever enough. It would have been better to have had something earlier or later. Mine was exactly the wrong period when it thought it was clever, but it wasn’t."

What was the issue?  Richard says: "So, the car had a brain, it had sensors all over, and those sensors would occasionally feedback to the brain to say, 'Oh no, there's a problem'. This might be with the exhaust, brakes, the steering, suspension, all manner of things. And the sensors all report back into the brain along these wires. Occasionally, there might be a legitimate problem and the sensors would tell the brain and say, 'You solve the problem', and then the brain would say, 'Okay, we're all fixed we can all go on together'. But my God, occasionally it was the sensors that were the problem. So, the car would be working fine but the sensor would be screaming 'My gearbox is broken!”'and the brain thinks it’s broken so it only gives me one gear to work with, but the gearbox is actually fine. So, it was a massive miscommunication: one big argument going on in the car between all the different parts. As far as the brain was concerned, everything that could go wrong with the car had gone wrong, even though it hadn’t."

What did you do to fix it?  Richard says: "Well I tried screaming at it and saying, 'There’s no problem, shut up', but unfortunately that didn’t work. So ultimately, after driving in one gear, I had to wait until we had Wi-Fi, get a laptop out, and then interrogate the brain. I had to essentially use the computer to say to the car, 'It’s okay. Calm down.' It became neurotic. I think it had too much sun. You set off and think everything’s fine and then the next thing you know it's in a panic about its gearbox again."

You had a problem with overheating too...   Richard says: "Yes. I had fitted underbody protection which was a good idea because we were going through rough terrain and the delicate parts of the car would need protecting from rocks and everything else. What I hadn’t foreseen is that this massive V12 engine, which is normally open underneath, was now covered by a big bash plate which kept hot air in. I was cooking my own engine, basically. It was a constant battle between leaving it open to damage or closing it in and making it overheat."

Did you quite enjoy the challenge, though?  Richard says: "Yeah, look, I’m a guy with some degree of mechanical sympathy, I run a garage and I’m interested in the way cars work. I’m scared of the computer side of things though. It’s like plastering: it’s a dark art. But to plug it into the diagnostics and fix it was quite satisfying. I love problem solving in a physical way. We love taking cars on journeys they weren’t built to do because that’s when they really develop personalities and, boy, did mine ever do that."

Did you mind being left behind by the others when your gears weren’t working?  Richard says: "Well, it wasn’t as bad as Madagascar. There’s always going to be one of us. You can’t possibly know which one it’s going to be, but that’s okay. If you’re doing anything with mates and you’re the one having the more 'exciting' time, shall we say, that’s alright."

Tell us about the visit to the Ambassador’s house...  Richard says: "It was fabulous! I want to go back. It’s one of my favourite places I’ve ever been. The Ambassador’s friends thought he was going to Mauritius when he got the job because they’d never heard of Mauritania – I mean, who has? But it was the most wonderful, characterful place full of lovely people. The Ambassador turned to me at one stage and said, 'In a minute, one of the chaps serving us is going to call me Excellency and if you laugh, I shall kick you.' I did laugh, of course I did."

You couldn’t drink alcohol in Mauritania. What was your first beer like when you got over the border? Richard says: "Well, I think it’s quite known that we like a beer. So, I’d say immense relief. It was almost needed on a cellular level. I was worried that my cells would forget how to connect if I didn't get a beer. I worried that because having a beer was all I could think of my atoms would forget to be bonded together in the right order and I might just turn into a cloud and vanish."

The film ends with you on the beach where the Paris-Dakar race finishes. What was that like? Richard says: "That was in Senegal but most of the film was spent in Mauritania — It’s a spectacular place. It’s four times the size of the UK but with hardly any people. It’s so big, so empty, and breath-taking. We never go anywhere that's not nice to look at, but this really was a bit special."

What did the history of the Paris-Dakar race mean to you in that moment?  Richard says: "A hell of a lot. I mean, it was legendary. If you’re into cars, you're going to be aware of the Paris-Dakar in its heyday, because the machinery, scenery, and what they did was incredible. So yeah, it meant a lot to drive in that same space. It was really exhilarating."

Is this a special that will appeal to the proper petrol heads amongst your fans?  Richard says: "I think this special treads that path that we've travelled very carefully which is that you don't have to be a car nerd to watch the show because we do that for you. That's been our motto, spoken and unspoken, for all of the years we’ve done it because it's in our blood, it’s in our hearts and you can see it. I think it does look beautiful. We’ve gone somewhere that people don't get to go to, and it’s fabulous to put that on screen for people. Cajoling an Aston Martin across a massive desert is a unique experience, so from my point of view this was a huge reminder of how lucky we are to get to go and have an adventure like that. I hope people enjoy it. I think it's a fine example of the nonsense that we enjoy getting up to."

Can you tease anything about the next special?  Richard says: "There are some familiar places, and it was a joy to be in Zimbabwe after so many years. We always have a great time in Africa. Zimbabwe was just unbelievable."

The Grand Tour: Sand Job on Prime Video follws the route of the famous Paris/Dakar rally.

Interview with James May on The Grand Tour: Sand Job

As well as Top Gear and The Grand Tour , James May is known for his travelogue James May: Our Man In… He’s also presented James May: Oh Cook! , James May: The Reassembler , James May’s Man Lab and Oz, and James’ Big Wine Adventure, with Oz Clarke. .

Tell us about the car you chose for The Grand Tour: Sand Job… James May says: "Well, I have much better taste and judgement than the other two so my car, the Maserati, was definitely the best looking. And it worked pretty well for the whole route, actually, proving that you don't need to spend £200,000 on a rally car. I think my budget was about £30,000."

Was it quite nice not being the one that was left behind, for a change?  James says: "I think it was long overdue, because I've been left behind in quite a few other things due to poor choices. Especially Eurocrash, that car was just so dreadful. So yes, it was quite gratifying and also slightly surprising because, of all those cars, you’d expect the Maserati to be the unreliable one; they do have a bit of a reputation for fragility. I mean, Aston Martins aren’t brilliant in that respect, but Hammond’s was just a disaster from the start. I knew it. I have a sixth sense about these things. When we buy those cars, I can stand near them, and I know if they're trouble."

What mistake do you think Hammond made in choosing his car?  James says: "I think it's just frank stupidity. There are sophisticated electronics in all modern cars which can go wrong, and small faults can be quite difficult to fix if you haven't got the right diagnostic equipment, which generally you don't have in the middle of a desert. So, the generous reply would be that it was just bad luck, but I prefer the response that it was due to uselessness."

Is this a special for petrol heads?  James says: "It’s certainly a bit more car-y than some other ones. We sort of alternate between car-y ones and more travel/sitcom ones. Eurocrash was not very car-y, but the French one was about car history, for example, and I’d say on that scale, this one leans towards being quite car-y. All three cars that we drove are interesting. They're all desirable cars, at least in their original form, and the idea of modelling a car and racing them across a desert is quite appealing to a lot of people."

You seemed to enjoy getting the cars off the train at the start of the journey… James says: "Yes, there were several things that I thought were exciting. One was that I was allowed to drive the shunter to manoeuvre the trucks, which I've always wanted to do, and that was great. Then we got my car off with planks, and I drove it very precariously and heroically, which is why they cut that bit out. Then we had to get the other two cars off with the telehandler which Jeremy is now an expert at because of his farming. He will always tell you he’s useless at anything practical, but he did that very well. It was great fun. I’m openly into that engineering nerdy stuff and I don't mind admitting it. Hammond is too: obviously he now runs a car repair centre and he’s done other shows in the past that have an engineering element. So, we do like it."

Did you enjoy being in the desert?  James says: "We actually all quite like being in a desert. We like the dust and the sand and the heat. It's exhausting, but it's all the things that T.E. Lawrence talked about, he said “the desert cleans you and it’s pure”, and I think that’s true. We all slightly get off on that and we feel like we're being really heroic and manly."

You did go for quite a T.E. Lawrence look with your headscarves…   James says: "Yeah, that was partly because it is incredibly hot. It's even hotter than I've experienced in India, and I thought that was the hottest I was ever going to be, so you actually do need to protect yourself. In that portion of the day, between one and four o'clock in the afternoon where supposedly only Mad Dogs and Englishmen go out, the locals generally hide inside. So, if you are outside, you have to cover up, or you'd be burned to a crisp, and you’d get sunstroke and go mad."

Did you get dehydrated?   James says: "We did go a few days without a proper wee, and I'm someone who likes to urinate freely. I mean, not in my trousers, but I don't like to hold it in. When we did wee it sort of came out as dust.

How did you feel about camping?   James says: "It’s awful. I mean, you don't really have much choice because it's a pretty empty country. All the bits we were in had no hotels or anything. Since the sixties I think there have only been fifty filming permits or so. So, we had to camp."

How did you cope with the heat and the dust?  James says: "I find it quite exciting when it gets very hot and very dusty. I've always been neurotic about dust in the home and actually I don't like dust in my own car, but somehow when you do those desert drives, it's nice that everything gets covered in dust and you get covered in dust and it sort of dries your hands and sticks in your hair."

Did you enjoy going to the British Ambassador’s house?  James says: "It was fantastic. He even had Ferrero Rocher: I didn’t actually think they were real. I thought there was one pyramid in existence, and they got moved around the world for photoshoots and filming, but he really did have them. Which is weird because they're not a British thing, are they? Aren’t they from Austria or Switzerland or something? I suppose an Ambassador is just expected to have them. But yes, it was wonderful and surreal. He’s got this rather lovely house with a nice garden."

What was your first beer like when you got over the border?  James says: "It was nice. Jeremy was pontificating about how you're supposed to admire the condensation and savour the moment which I think is just because he was trying to do a covert advert for his own beer. Whereas I just think oh, it's a beer and I've been waiting for it for several weeks, so I’ll drink it and look at the lovely view instead of the beer."

What was it like finishing the journey on the same beach as the Paris-Dakar race?  James says: "Driving on sand features in some of the greatest things we've done over the years. Back when we did the Namibia special in the beach buggies, I had a fantastic sunset drive across the dunes on my own because I'd been left behind as usual while I stopped to do something to my car, and that was fabulous as well. It’s the same reason anybody likes going to the beach: I suppose there's something quite primeval about it. You're at the edge of the land. It's unspoiled and there's nothing there apart from a few elements: water, sky and sand. It just appeals to something in humans and so yes, it was terrific."

What did the history of the Paris-Dakar race mean to you in that moment?  James says: "That was a massive thing when I first started working on car magazines back in the early nineties. It used to get a lot of coverage as it's a very gruelling thing."

How would you summarise Sand Job? James says: "We tend to be a bit optimistic and we tend to push complications to one side and hope that somebody will deal with them. So, I was quite pleased that it ended up being a good adventure. It's a very long special because there's a lot of material. We always tell ourselves we don't actually need to do 1200 miles or whatever, because we have enough adventure in 200 miles to make a special. But we still go back and do 1200 miles, because either we like it or we're a bit stupid."

Interview with Jeremy Clarkson on The Grand Tour: Sand Job

Jeremy Clarkson is best known for Top Gear , in which he starred alongside Richard Hammond and James May from 2002 to 2015. He also presented shows like Jeremy Clarkson’s Extreme Machines, Motorworld and Clarkson: Unleashed on Cars . More recently Jeremy has fronted Clarkson’s Farm , Who Wants to be a Millionaire and It’s Clarkson on TV .

How did you feel about doing this show in Mauritania?  Jeremy Clarkson says: "I love deserts so I've always wanted to do the Sahara, but it’s difficult to go there; you can't go to Mali or Libya or Algeria or Chad. You can't go to the top of Nigeria. And then it was really a question of finding the most inappropriate cars for trans-Sahara travel, and I think we did a pretty good job on that."

Tell us about your car... Jeremy says: "The Jaguar F-Type V6 Supercharged VS. Well put it like this: it was so impressive, I came home and bought one immediately. And I don’t think Hammond bought an Aston Martin afterwards. The other two made unwise choices, as usual. The Jaguar was so tough and so unbreakable. I discovered something interesting: Jaguar has a reputation for making flimsy cars, cars that fall to pieces, it has this reputation for unreliability, so I couldn't understand why my car was so capable. I did some checking, and it turns out that at the time this car was made, Jaguar Land Rover – which is one company – had one test that a car had to pass before it could go on sale which is all to do with mounting curbs at high speed and running over potholes and biffing into things. And the test was designed for the Range Rover, but the Jaguar had to pass the same test. So, they are extraordinarily strong. I cannot lavish enough praise on that car. I brought back the one I drove in Mauritania too, I have it at the farm.

You mentioned the other two making unwise choices. Can you expand on that?  Jeremy says: "Well, Hammond in particular had constant issues. It started off being funny and then it became annoying because it was relentlessly unreliable. His was as unreliable as mine was reliable."

This film put you to the test in all sorts of ways. You had to get your cars off a train, and then drive them across a body of water… Jeremy says: "Yes, and we attached snowmobiles to the front of the Jag to try and even out the road surface. It’s potty engineering, an idiotic idea but it worked. The funny thing with the cars on the train is that we thought it would be a bit like what happened in Bolivia when they arrived on a barge, and it took us ten days to get them off. We thought we'd have the same problems in Mauritania, but we found an old telehandler loader like the ones we use on farms and, now that I'm a farmer, I was able to get them off quite easily. For once I did something properly."

What was the heat like?  Jeremy says: "You know, the funny thing is you don't get filthy in a desert. It's a very strange thing but sand is incredibly clean. We’ve experienced this in the Atacama and the Gobi and the Nomad and all the places we've driven over the years. You don't get dirty. But it was bloody tough. We drank litres and litres of water, and we didn’t pee. I mean, I don't know where it was going. Hammond said after three or four days, “I’m going to have a pee” and I suddenly thought, “I haven't had a pee this whole time.” When people go to see the Northern Lights, for example, they boast that it was minus 30 and you think "No, it wasn’t, it was minus six” or they say it was 50 degrees somewhere hot and you go, “No, it was maybe 38 in the midday sun.” Well, this really was 50 degrees in the shade. You never see the locals during the day, ever. We hardly saw anybody at all but if we did occasionally encounter a small village, it would have maybe six or seven huts and everyone would be inside them all day. They venture out only after the sun has set because it's so hot. Camping is always ghastly but when you're in the middle of the Sahara Desert, you have no alternative. There are no hotels, there are no guest houses or even restaurants or shops. It's very much the opposite of, say, Luxembourg."

You did see civilisation when you went to the Ambassador’s house. Did he really have a tray of Ferrero Rocher? Jeremy says: "I don’t think they were put there for us. I certainly didn’t see anybody putting those Ferrero Rocher chocolates there. We were sitting on the sofa when he went off to make us a cup of tea and I went to take a look and somehow, I managed to break his decoration. That was really funny. That's probably my favourite scene in the entire show actually. I don’t know if you’ve ever been in a British Embassy anywhere, but they are amazing. I remember in the middle of the Iraq war in 2002 I went out to Baghdad to cover it for the Sunday Times. They pick you up from the airport in an armoured Land Rover with helicopter cover and so on, then we got to the British Embassy, and they had people in the gardens doing topiary. I mean, it was beautifully manicured lawns, fountains, Country Life magazines spread out on all the tables. It was astonishing. And it was the same in Mauritania: you drive through the desert where people are selling sand to one another and suddenly there is this swimming pool, manicured lawns, elegant surroundings, beautiful furniture. It’s fantastic. If ever you're absolutely desperate, in any country, head straight to the British Embassy."

They didn’t give you a beer, though. How was your first beer when you finally got over the border? Jeremy says: "Well, it wasn’t a Hawkstone [Jeremy’s own beer] so it was disgusting. I mean, as an alternative beer goes, it was very welcome. But I like to savour a beer before I drink it. Those two just plunged in, but I like to look at it and then see what the anticipation of a cold beer feels like after however many days in a dry country."

What was it like to drive on the famous beach from the Paris-Dakar race?  Jeremy says: "I love travelling on beaches. I've done it in New Zealand and Wales and now Western Africa. It's just a wonderful thing to do. It would have been fun anyway but the most important thing about that drive was that we were re-enacting what they used to do at the end of the Paris-Dakar rally, and we always used to see these amazing pieces of film of the camera helicopters chasing the cars down the beach as they came into Dakar for the finish of this epic rally from Paris. It was beautiful, it was a lovely day and I had Seven Seconds on the stereo as well which is that Senegalese song, which was nice."

You seemed to enjoy each other’s company very much, as usual.  Jeremy says: "It was honestly hilarious. Hammond’s Aston endlessly breaking down was very funny. Listen, when we do these things, it is a laugh from start to finish. We know what we're doing and we do enjoy one another's company. Otherwise, we wouldn't have been doing it for twenty-five years. It was tremendous. It was a big laugh. The fact it’s the longest special we've ever made testifies to how good it is because there’s very little you’d want to throw away. It’s all exciting, good stuff."

Can you tease us about the final one?  Jeremy says: "It’s my favourite one we’ve ever done. I've always thought we'd never go anywhere better than Botswana, and now we have."

The Grand Tour Is Officially Back With Season 5 – What We Know So Far

So The Grand Tour is back with Season 5 officially being filmed as we speak . Jeremy Clarkson , Richard Hammond, and James May were each spotted alongside a film crew in Wales, and later England with three French cars, all before the recently filmed Scotland Special has been released.

Table of Contents

But There Are Only Two Episodes In Season 4?

This is where it gets a bit strange. With the change in structure from a number of episodes per season to only a couple of special episodes a year, the lines between seasons are getting pretty hazy. In reality, there are no more seasons, with each special episode belonging entirely to itself. But The Grand Tour has always been contracted to a season per year, and with COVID getting in the way of the car show and pushing the release of the Madagascar Special further back, Season 4 was unfortunately spread over two years instead of one.

The Scotland Special episode, which is due later this year (I write as I cross my fingers), marks the start of Season 5. The upcoming episode, which is being filmed now, is the second half of that.

Although really, seasons of The Grand Tour don’t mean much anymore…

What Happened In Scotland?

Filming began in Scotland late last year after the release of the Madagascar Special, ‘A Massive Hunt’. It didn’t take long, maybe a week or so, and Clarkson revealed that the editing for the episode would only take “three months”.

The Grand Tour team began their journey in Edinburgh, where from there, driving three classic American cars, they made their way slowly to the Outer Hebrides islands. James May is driving a red Cadillac, Richard is driving a green Buick, and Jeremy has a blue Lincoln. Along the way, they modified each of their cars, drag raced them, and were spotted towing three separate caravans, and even drove another set of classic muscle cars.

Richard broke  down in a ’70s  Dodge Challenger , but also included in the set of new cars was a Ford Mustang and a Chevrolet Nova.

Everything We Know About The Scotland Special

What We Know So Far About The England Special / Most Recent Filming

Filming started on April 23 in Crickhowell, south Powys, Wales with Richard Hammond being filmed in a Renault Scenic. Surrounded by cameramen and the public, he continued to push a Citroen Saxo out of the way so he could make space for him to park on the side of the road.

It’s very obviously staged, but despite this, someone who saw the video on Twitter alerted the police to what was going on, who responded with the following:

“Hi Philip, thanks for getting in touch. We are aware of some filming happening in and around this area at the moment, but thanks for letting us know.”

Later on, Clarkson was seen in Wales near the Metropole Hotel where they were known to be staying driving a Citroen CX.

Clarkson, Hammond, and May were seen a day later in Leamington Spa, England, and the surrounding area. Richard Hammond is seen driving a Talbot-Matra Murena sports car, and James May a Renault Avantime MPV. Reports state that they disrupted the local area, added to the traffic on the roads, and received complaints because of this.

We don’t know what’s happening here, but with the trio being followed by a large film crew, including a helicopter, we’re expecting a large production as they drive their cars through the beautiful English countryside.

The Grand Tour Season 5 Episode 2 Potential Release Date, Locations & More

the-grand-tour-season-5-episode-2-release-date-location

The Grand Tour Season 5 Episode 2 is coming! However, when will the upcoming episode of everybody’s favourite car show be released on Amazon Prime Video ? The other thing that I know fans of the show would also love to know is where Jeremy Clarkson , James May and Richard Hammond will be going next. These are all things that I’m going to try and answer for you in this article.

However, before we get into the weeds of all of that, I have to warn you that not all of the answers are out there at the moment. That said, the moment we get any new information about The Grand Tour Season 5 Episode 2, I will update this article according. So, without any further ado, let’s talk about the upcoming episode of The Grand Tour .

When will The Grand Tour Season 5 Episode 2 be released?

READ MORE: When Will Reacher Season 2 Be Released?

The first question I wanted to answer in this article is whether The Grand Tour Season 5 Episode 2 is going to happen or not. Good news, the answer to that question is yes. There will be another episode in which Clarkson, May and Hammond get to be idiots on vehicles. However, this next episode might be quite different to the ones we’ve seen before. It’s been revealed to us that Clarkson and Hammond will be on bikes in this upcoming episode, and we all know how much Clarkson hates bikes!

We actually don’t know precisely when the upcoming special will be released, unfortunately. However, we might have some information to share with you on that front. During a recent interview, Jeremy was asked when the next episode of The Grand Tour would be released on Amazon Prime Video. Jeremy revealed that it would be released in “a very long time”. However, he then said that it would be out on the streaming platform in about six months. Clarkson revealed:

A very long time. Is it six months, perhaps? Six months.

So, this means that this upcoming Grand Tour special might be released in December, towards the end of this year. However, it could very easily be pushed into early 2023. This would actually be a lot sooner than I would have expected given the fact that we’ve just seen The Grand Tour Presents – A Scandi Flick .

Where will they go in Season 5 Episode 2?

READ MORE: When Will She-Hulk Season 2 Be Released?

As for where the next episode of the awesome Prime Video series will take place, we have a solid answer for you. It’s been revealed that the following Grand Tour special would be set in Poland, and Jeremy and Richard will both be cycling around the area. I’m sure that Jeremy is very happy about that fact. Well, Jeremy and Richard did let slip a little bit of what we should expect from the upcoming special.

Clarkson and his The Grand Tour colleague, Richard Hammond, were talking to a Radio 1 Slovenia journalist in a hotel. During the interview, Clarkson and Hammond revealed that they had travelled 2,000km through Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Hungary, and were now going through Slovenia. Here’s what Clarkson had to say about the upcoming Grand Tour special:

Well, this is, it is actually the finish point for a long – about a 2,200 kilometre drive from Gdansk at the top of Poland. All the way down to Krakow, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, and then here.

Clarkson was then asked what he thought of Slovenia, and he admitted that he thought it was “very pretty”. Here’s what he had to say about travelling through Hungary and Slovenia:

Well, we came in through the mountains from Hungary, so it’s just straight away very pretty. And then it stays very pretty to here. So it’s just very pretty.

Has there been a trailer for The Grand Tour Season 5 Episode 2?

READ MORE: Will Fate: The Winx Saga Season 3 Happen On Netflix?

But, what about other episodes of  The Grand Tour ? Will there be any more after this upcoming Poland special? The answer is yes. Hammond admitted to  This Morning  on ITV (via  Grand Tour Nation ) that these episodes take a lot of planning, and planning has started for the next stint of filming. Here’s what he had to say on the matter:

Yeah, they take a lot of planning, as you can imagine, you know TV. There’s so much planning involved, building one of those shows just… I mean there’s a lot of us in the show.

Then one of This Morning’s presenters, Phillip Scofield, asked Hammond: “Where do you want to go, what do you want to do?” However, Richard didn’t want to give too much away. He simply said:

I don’t know. We actually have a meeting next week. We’re often asked ‘Do you all see each other between shows?’ Well yes because we finish one of the shows, then it’s got to be edited. And Andy Wilman, that you both know is a genius, puts the thing together, but we’re all involved in seeing that through various stages. Then by the time we finish that, we’re starting to plan the next one.

fuckin oath mate

same, fuck you long article stupid clickbait no info

all of this for nothing waste of time

I’m kind of sad James apparently won’t be in the next episode. I wish I knew when it will air. I understand why the article wasn’t more exact on release date, considering the recent drama (overblown reaction on the part of the British public and Royals in my opinion) regarding Jeremy’s statements, they’re not even sure it WILL air. I’m glad Jeremy still has Clarkson’s Farm though, and I wish him, his family, Richard and James and their families all the best.

Side note: I’m probably the only American so far who’s commented, and I find it kind of sad I’m the most articulate.

preview for The Grand Tour Season 5: Everything You Need To Know

The Grand Tour season 5: Release date, Amazon Prime, presenters, controversy, trailer and everything you need to know

But it was hardly a surprise given those leaked Amazon Prime documents, which revealed that the show had encouraged more people to sign up to the streaming service than any other Amazon series.

So, what can we expect from the next instalment? Here's everything you need to know.

The Grand Tour season 5 episodes: How many will there be?

Seasons one to three have had 13, 11 and 14 episodes respectively, while season four has so far only aired one – a special, titled The Grand Tour presents… Seamen , in which the hosts swapped cars for boats – which means there's a lot more to come.

As for five, we don't yet know what we'll be getting, but our money's on at least ten episodes.

The Grand Tour season 5 release date: When will it be released?

The Grand Tour auditions Mark Webber

There isn't currently a premiere date on the table for season five, but as soon as we know it we'll stick it right here so you don't miss a moment.

But first up, we need the rest of season four, which only kicked off on December 13, 2019.

"Just to let you know. Yes, another special is coming. We've finished filming in Madagascar. No, we don't know when it's coming out yet. Yes, Season 4 is made up of epic specials. No, they're not released weekly. Yes, we'll have more info in due course," The Grand Tour account tweeted.

So there you have it.

Nothing to report at the moment, but we'll keep our eyes and ears peeled.

It probably also hasn't helped that Richard Hammond contracted a bacterial skin infection during filming of the new series.

"It bloody hurts," he told BANG Showbiz . " It's one of those on the list of crap conditions I've had. I got it from climbing into the water and then I realised my legs were hurting. My feet were very red and it went through my legs.

"You could literally see it tracking up my leg. I'm at a disadvantage because it's a much shorter journey to my vital organs. That would have been a really crappy way to go."

Of course, The Grand Tour ’s production is entirely dependent on the gang’s ability to travel (the clue’s in the title of the show) and with coronavirus severely hampering (well, completely stopping) international travel, season five is going to be negatively impacted.

Clarkson said as much on Twitter in early March: "We have one pretty much ready to go and when this virus business is settled, we will head off to do two more."

And, just in case you think that Clarkson might go renegade, and break the ‘stay at home, save lives’ directive, think again.

The combative presenter announced on Instagram: "Normally when I’m told to do something I react by doing the exact opposite, I’ve done that all of my life, but on this occasion, no."

"I have been asked to stay at home and even though this is my home and it’s got holes in it and it’s very cold at night and there’s only one chair, I am doing what Mr. Johnson has asked me to do."

"And do you want to have James May’s death on your conscience? No you don’t."

"So come on, please, everyone, let’s just sit it out. It could be worse, you could be me."

Bizarrely, Clarkson has a unique insight into what started the virus - he’s eaten a bat.

"Over the years, I’ve eaten and drunk all sorts of things you won’t find on the menu in McDonald’s. The worst thing I ever ate, however, was a bat," he said (via The Express ).

"They’d put it in quite a good curry, so the taste wasn’t so bad, but the bones? [it was like] eating a cemetery."

The presenter ‘reassured’ fans that another COVID-19 style situation probably won’t happen. "Because if the coronavirus really was caused by someone eating a bat, we can be pretty damn sure that he won’t ever be eating another."

Well, that's comforting.

The Grand Tour season 5 locations: Where will they travel?

Andy Wilman recently shared a photo of a map on Instagram without a caption, but what does it mean?

Is he referring to season four, season five or just planning his summer holiday?

There's no news yet about where season five will take us, but we look forward to finding out.

The Grand Tour season 5 on Amazon Prime: Will it stay put?

Jeremy Clarkson and the lads may have jumped ship from the BBC to Amazon Prime, shifting from Top Gear to The Grand Tour, but another move isn't on the cards just yet, with Amazon Prime staying as the show's home for now.

The Grand Tour Ricky Wilson, Jeremy Clarkson, David Hasselhoff

"We were signed up by Amazon to do three seasons and everyone was like, 'They're going to do four', but we were only asked to do three," Clarkson said (via Metro ). "We're delighted to say Amazon have asked us to do more.

"Whenever anyone would say, 'Oh, you're not telling us because it's not happening'. No, we can't tell you because we hadn't gotten round to doing three. When we finished three we talked to Amazon and they said, 'Oh no we'd be delighted', and they seemed to love us so consequently you've got us for a few more years yet."

Here's the (typically dry) announcement:

The Grand Tour season 5 presenters: Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May?

Yeah, they'll all be back – the show wouldn't be the same without them, as has been proven by Top Gear ' s shifting fortunes.

The Grand Tour season 3

But some fans might have been slightly concerned recently when May told The Sun that his involvement might be coming to an end .

"How do I feel about ageing? Bad," he said. "I'm in the second half of my fifties now and in all honesty, I'm slightly falling apart.

"I'm developing nervous disorders and aches and I don't think I'll do this much longer because I don't want to fall apart in public.

"It would just be a bit undignified and I don't think people want to see it. There's almost certainly more of it behind us than in front of us. How long do you want to see old blokes?"

He added: "Jeremy's possibly even more decrepit than me. When it takes us 15 minutes to get out of a Ferrari, do you really want to see that? It's sad. You're supposed to leave the audience wanting more.

"We never thought we'd be doing it this long — and we never really thought about how it would end."

the grand tour episode 9 jeremy clarkson and james may

Maybe that's why he tuned in to watch a younger crowd on the BBC...

"I've been watching it quite regularly since we stopped," James May told Digital Spy . "It's quite nice to watch Top Gear when you're not on it, which I haven't been able to [watch it] for, you know, 13 years or whatever."

"And I think, well, it was a bit of a shaky start, if we're honest. It took them a while to work out how to do it. But I think they're doing a fairly good job now. It's almost as good as ours."

But despite the jibes, the people involved in the making of the shows are in contact with one another.

Top Gear executive producer Alex Renton told Deadline that the teams "talk informally" to avoid any awkward clashes in terms of locations and challenges.

Exec producer Clare Pizey added: "If we know in advance they are going somewhere, we would avoid it because it's not what viewers want."

But that doesn't mean Wilman and Clarkson have tuned in to watch Top Gear since leaving.

"I think we did the best one, so I'm happy with that," Wilman told Deadline . "And I've got loads of mates who work on it. I wish them well, but I don't have any need to watch it."

The Grand Tour series 2 first-look

May thinks the current Top Gear line-up works "quite well", but he added: "Occasionally, it feels a bit forced.

"I'm quite good mates with Chris Harris, anyway. I've known him for a long time, so I quite often send him little snide messages.

"They've got the potential chemistry right. The thing that everybody forgets is, with our chemistry, it took us at least seven years, I think, for it to develop to the point where everyone was familiar with it and knew how we worked. It's a long process. You can't really manufacture it.

"If you've got the ingredients right, it will work. But you have to let it develop. And the process of watching it develop is part of the experience of the viewers. They did that with us. They watched some slightly awkward blokes on the telly, and probably thought, 'Ho ho, this is a bit awkward' – and then enjoyed watching it mature and flourish and settle down, and all those sort of little in-jokes developed."

We can't imagine Amazon would want to risk starting from scratch by changing The Grand Tour ' s line-up. The trio are the show – so expect your favourite three to return after having truck-loads of cash dumped on their respective lawns.

The Grand Tour season 5 controversy: What now?

It seems wherever Clarkson, May and Hammond go, controversy follows, and The Grand Tour has had its fair share of criticism.

Hammond responded to the allegations that the show is homophobic, telling Digital Spy : "It's bloody annoying, because we are not remotely homophobic as a show. If anybody takes something as homophobic, then yeah, I think we should remove it, because I don't want to cause offence.

"But no, we don't sit down and… Because to say, 'We're going to be really careful not [to] be homophobic in this series' would be to say: 'Well, you must be, then, because you're having to try not to be.'

the grand tour, james may, richard hammond, jeremy clarkson

"So I just don't think – no, we don't set out to try and adjust that kind of thing, because we're not. And never have been.

"But then, to be honest, people are always looking for it. The favourite one we used to get was about sexism. People were always saying, 'Well, we know what you lot are like about women and cars'."

"What! We've never said anything. Apart from that I've got [a] wife and two daughters who could beat the shit out of me.

"But we've never, ever said any of those things, but people used to level the accusation at us, on the assumption that we were – probably because we're middle-aged, probably quite middle-class blokes. So the assumption is, that's what we would be, and do. But we're not."

Well there was the racism , Richard.

Let's hope the boys manage to get through the next series without upsetting anyone.

The Grand Tour season 5 trailer: When can I watch it?

It's currently a waiting game, but as soon as the official trailer drops we'll pop it right here for your viewing pleasure.

Expect a lot more of the same...

‘Yellowstone’ Star Cole Hauser Teases Potential For A Spin-Off With Co-Star Kelly Reilly

‘outer range’s biggest mystery is what kind of show it wants to be, does ‘yellowstone’ return tonight ‘yellowstone’s season 5, part 2 premiere date, streaming info, and more.

Calling all Yellowstone  fans! It’s Sunday night, which means in addition to battling the Sunday Scaries, it’s time once again to ask the question that’s been running through our minds for more than a year : “Does  Yellowstone  Season 5, Part 2 return tonight?”

Since Season 5, Part 1 of Taylor Sheridan’s hit Western drama wrapped on January 1, 2023, fans have been impatiently waiting for the next installment to drop — or at the very least, set a premiere date!

At Decider, we miss our regular dose of Dutton drama so much that we started  rewatching  Yellowstone  from Season 1 . And though many Yellowstone Season 5, Part 2 still remain unknown, we at least have solid updates on filming, expected premiere month, Kevin Costner’s involvement and relationship with Sheridan, upcoming Yellowstone  spinoffs, and more.

So does  Yellowstone  return tonight, May 12? Wondering what the latest is on Kevin Costner and Taylor Sheridan’s professional relationship? Curious where  Yellowstone  is streaming at the moment? Or when you can catch Costner’s Horizon: An American Saga in theaters?

Here’s everything we know about the  Yellowstone  Season 5, Part 2, including premiere date, filming updates, streaming info, and more.

Is  Yellowstone  on Paramount Network Tonight (May 12)?

Wondering if a new episode of  Yellowstone  airs on Parmount Network tonight, Sunday, May 12? For those who’ve read one of these posts before, you probably know the answer…

Sadly, no.  Yellowstone  isn’t returning with new episodes on May 12, but if you tune into Paramount Network on Sunday, you’ll get another — yes, another! —  Bar Rescue  marathon.

When Is Yellowstone Coming Back? Yellowstone  Season 5, Part 2 Premiere Date :

So when is Yellowstone coming back? Long story short…we still don’t have an exact premiere date, but we do have an expected premiere month . Yellowstone  Season 5, Part 2 is set to return at some point in  November 2024 on Paramount Network . Earlier this year a  Puck  report  said that “the final episodes” of Part 2 of were “already written” and that filming would to begin “in a few weeks,” so with any luck it’s business as usual back at the Dutton ranch.

Why Did Kevin Costner Leave  Yellowstone ?

After  Yellowstone  Season 5, Part 1 wrapped,  explosive  Yellowstone  reports suggested creator Taylor Sheridan and star/EP Kevin Costner were feuding. In May 2023, fans learned  Costner would be leaving the  Yellowstone  franchise after Season 5  and that he reportedly  wouldn’t return for Season 5, Part 2 unless he approved  of his character’s final storyline. In June 2023, Sheridan told  The Hollywood Reporter  he was “disappointed” by Costner’s exit, adding, “I don’t do fuck-you car crashes… Whether [Dutton’s fate] inflates [Costner’s] ego or insults is collateral damage that I don’t factor in with regard to storytelling.”

Per  People , when Costner was asked if he’d be receiving a salary for the second half of Season 5, the actor detailed struggles experienced while negotiating, saying, “I will probably go to court over it.” In April, Costner gave an update on his potential return in an interview with  Entertainment Tonight , saying, “I’d like to be able to do it but we haven’t been able to…I thought I was going to make seven [seasons] but right now we’re at five. So how it works out — I hope it does — but they’ve got a lot of different shows going on. Maybe it will. Maybe this will circle back to me. If it does and I feel really comfortable with [it], I’d love to do it.” But the updates don’t stop there…

Two weeks ago, Costner’s co-star Luke Grimes, who plays his on-screen son, spoke on the actor’s decision to step back from the series ahead of Season 5, Part 2.  As Decider reported , per Grimes, Costner had become “busy” pursuing other “passion projects,” such as his upcoming Western  Horizon: An American Saga . “Whatever happened there is unfortunate if it’s changed anything about how the show was going to unfold,” Grimes recently told  The Independent .  “At a certain point, you gotta do what you gotta do, man…You gotta do what you love.”

Then in a May 3 interview with EW , Costner made some seriously hopeful comments about his professional relationship with Sheridan, saying that although the two hadn’t talked he was open to working together again down the line. “He’s doing special work in a lot of different ways. He’s very prolific about the things he does, and if he sees me in something that he wants to do, I’ll look at it just the way I did Yellowstone and maybe we will end up doing something together.”

“He likes a lot of the things that I like, and the idea of us working together is not out of the question for me. The subjects he chooses are very interesting to me. I like a lot of that stuff. Yellowstone stands as something that could continue. But that is a Taylor question. But other things that he’s doing I think are really, really good. He likes the same subjects that I do,” Costner said. Promising, right? Now if only these two could get back together for the sake of John Dutton…

Will  Yellowstone  Have A Season 6?

In May 2023, it was confirmed that  Yellowstone  Season 5 would be the show’s final season , which means Season 6 likely won’t be a go, with or without Costner.

Yellowstone  Spinoff Shows:

Fans may be saying goodbye to Yellowstone  this year, but two new  Yellowstone  spinoffs — titled  1944 and 2024  — are also reportedly in the works, so the Sheridan-verse will live on. Specific details for  1944  or  2024  have yet to be released, but Variety reports  that  2024  is expected to begin airing after  Yellowstone  ends, and the show will allegedly feature “new cast members and locations with some crossover characters as well.” (This is also the series that could include Matthew McConaughey,  who’s been rumored to star in a  Yellowstone  spinoff since April 2023 .)

Curious where you can stream old episodes while you impatiently await new ones? All five seasons of  Yellowstone  are currently available to stream  on Peacock Premium  and individual episodes and complete seasons of  Yellowstone  are  available for purchase on Amazon .

When Does Kevin Costner’s  Horizon: An American Saga  Premiere In Theaters?

Until Yellowstone returns with new episodes, you can check out Kevin Costner’s upcoming multi-part Western movie  Horizon :  An American Saga  — which he starred in, directed, co-wrote, and produced. Wondering when it premieres?

Horizon: An American Saga  Part 1 is scheduled to premiere in theaters on June 28, with Part 2 releasing on August 16. The two-part highly-anticipated Western will also make its world premiere  on May 19 at the  Cannes Film Festival .

“I’ve been waiting for the right time to return and I’m proud to say that this time has come,” Costner told  Variety . “ Horizon, An American Saga  is a story that began 35 years ago, and I can’t think of a better place than Cannes to reveal to the world the result of such a wonderful adventure. The French have always supported films and believed deeply in filmmaking. Just as I believe deeply in my film.”

Netflix’s sports documentary series on the world-famous Tour de France is back for a second season, with eight new episodes set to land on Netflix globally on June 11th, 2024. The series will go behind the scenes of the 110th edition of the cycling race, which Jonas Vingegaard ultimately won for the third year in a row.

Before the release of season 1 on June 8th, 2023, it was announced that Tour de France: Unchained had already received a second season order . Cycling Weekly was the first to report that the documentary series would cover the 2023 race, which occurred between July 1st and 23rd, 2023.

Per Netflix, the new season will consist of another eight episodes, with the streamer providing the following tidbits about the new season:

“This new season goes behind the scenes of the 21 stages of Tour de France 2023: amid the scandals, low blows and thirst for glory; amid the dramatic falls and historic breakaways; amid the withdrawals and desire to win: the series dives back into the fierce battle of the riders for the yellow jersey!”

The new season will continue in its first season footsteps, with interviews with everyone in various teams, picking the riders’ brains and the people behind the teams.

Unlike most of the other sports documentaries that have flooded onto Netflix recently, Tour de France: Unchained is in a co-distribution deal with France Télévisions, which will carry it in France.

Box to Box Films is the production company behind Netflix’s co-distribution release. It has pioneered the sports docuseries over the past few years, starting out with Formula 1: Drive to Survive , which is currently in production with its seventh season . They’re also behind Six Nations: Full Contact , which has been given a second season order, plus Break Point , which has concluded after 1 season, and Full Swing , currently awaiting a season 3 renewal.

Grand Blue Season 2 Reportedly in Production

By Archak Mitra

A recent post on X (formerly Twitter) confirmed that  Grand Blue season 2  is in production. The news came from the spoiler account Sugoi LITE, a well-known source in the community. Earlier, there were several leaks from this account, which were later confirmed by the official sources. However, with the recent post on the second season of Grand Blue, the reputable leaker has excited fans.

Grand Blue season 2: What is known so far?

As mentioned earlier, the anime-manga leaker Sugoi LITE reported Grand Blue season 2 to be on the way. However, the series’ official sources have yet to announce anything. Neither Kodansha nor Zero-G has revealed anything regarding the production of a renewal.

Several other leaks have also reported that Shinji Takamatsu will direct the upcoming season. Hideoki Kusama, who designed the characters in the first season, may also return in the second season. However, while Grand Blue is a popular series, and the rumors may likely be later confirmed, fans should take the news from the spoiler accounts with a grain of salt.

GRAND BLUE Season 2 Staff: Director: Shinji Takamatsu Character Design: Hideoki Kusama Studio: Zero-G — d0nut | 勉強 (@d0nut2x) May 7, 2024

Debuting in 2018, the first season of Grand Blue consisted of 12 episodes. Zero-G produced the anime, which was adapted from the manga written by Kenji Inoue and illustrated by Kimitake Yoshioka.

The series revolves around a comedic atmosphere with university students, focusing on Iori Kitahara, who moves to Izu, a coastal town, to pursue higher education. He lives in his uncle’s scuba diving shop, Grand Blue. However, things become bizarre when he meets his seniors, and his expectations of a typical university life are shattered. Kitahara finds himself in a new world with a larger social circle, drunk antiques, and constant chaos from his seniors.

'Gen V' Season 2 Enters Production After Major Overhaul

Cameras are rolling on the much-anticipated second season of 'The Boys' spin-off.

The Big Picture

  • Derek Luh and Lizzie Broadway share exciting updates from Gen V as the spin-off series begins filming Season 2.
  • Gen V Season 2 won't feature two main characters from Season 1, promising to honor the late Chance Perdomo's memory.
  • Following Perdomo's death, the scripts for Season 2 were re-written to avoid re-casting.

God U is back to pick up the pieces after the epic finale that saw the school at the center of a media frenzy. Gen V Season 2 has begun production, and the cast took to social media to share the exciting updates. Derek Luh and Lizzie Broadway star in the young supes series from The Boys universe as Jordan Li and Emma Meyer, respectively. They shared some set photos on Instagram to mark the beginning of the next several months as they embark on creating the anticipated second season.

Luh shared a post on his profile with two images. The first shows his trailer with his character's name written on it with the letter M in brackets — the M differentiates his trailer from the one for London Thor who plays the female version of the same character. Jordan is a bigender supe with the ability to change genders at will and use powers unique to each gender they currently present.

The second image is a mirror selfie of him wearing a God U jacket. The jacket is quite different from the light blue signature jacket Jordan wears. While it's unclear what this change means, it might speak to Jordan's rising status in God U without Golden Boy or Andre Anderson around. Or it might just be some very cool Gen V swag. Broadway shared an Instagram story with some director's chairs with her and Luh's characters' names.

'Gen V' Season 2 Won't Feature Two Main Characters From Season 1

The second season is down two key characters. Events in the first season saw Golden Boy commit suicide after being physically and mentally abused in The Woods. Production has not confirmed if there are plans to bring Patrick Schwarzenegger back in any capacity. He is currently filming the third season of The White Lotus , so a return is highly unlikely. Gen V also suffered a major blow when Chance Perdomo passed away in a road accident several weeks ago. Producers revealed that they wouldn't recast the character and would find an appropriate way to write him out. Producers promised to find a way to honor Perdomo in the upcoming season, saying:

"As we continue to navigate the tragic loss of Chance Perdomo, everyone at Gen V is determined to find the best way to pay respect to his memory. We won't be recasting the role, because no one can replace Chance. Instead, we have been taking the time and space to recraft our Season 2 storylines as we begin production in May. We will honor Chance and his legacy this season."

Fox has renewed “ The Great North ” for a fifth season.

Season 5 will premiere at midseason, rather than in the fall, as was announced ahead of Fox’s 2024 upfront. “Animal Control,” “Family Guy” and “Grimsburg” have also been pushed to midseason.

The Boys spin-off is coming back for more

Jaz Sinclair as Marie in Gen V

Gen V season 2 will start production shortly. The death of star Chance Perdomo meant The Boys spin-off delayed filming before they ultimately reached the decision to continue with the show without recasting Perdomo's character Andre.

Below, you'll find everything that we revealed about Gen V season 2 before Perdomo's tragic passing. The latest lowdown for the next visit to Godolkin University includes story and release date speculation, plus filming news. There are major Gen V season 1 spoilers ahead !

Gen V season 2 release date

Asa Germann and Lizze Broadway in Gen V

Production on Gen V was due to begin in late March/early April , but was delayed to May following Chance Perdomo's death.

Given that season 1 aired roughly one year after filming wrapped on the initial episodes, we'd be confident in saying Prime Video will aim for a mid-2025 release for The Boys spin-off.

Gen V season 2 cast and crew

Gen V

Before Perdomo's death, we would have expected the actor to join Jaz Sinclair (Marie), Derek Luh/London Thor (Jordan), Lizze Broadway (Emma), Maddie Phillips (Cate) and Asa Germann (Sam) as part of the Gen V season 2 cast alongside potential cameos from the wider universe of The Boys.

Since then, Prime Video has confirmed that Andre Anderson won't be recast.

"As we continue to navigate the tragic loss of Chance Perdomo, everyone at Gen V is determined to find the best way to pay respect to his memory," a statement released on social media reads . "We won't be recasting the role, because no one can replace Chance. Instead, we have been taking the time and space to recraft our season 2 storylines as we begin production in May. We will honor Chance and his legacy this season."

Weekly digests, tales from the communities you love, and more

Those who won't be returning after the events of season 1, include Marco Pigossi as Dr. Edison Cardosa, Dean Indira Shetty (Shelley Conn), and Professor Richard Brinkerhoff (Clancy Brown). That could also be the case for Luke Riordan aka Golden Boy (Patrick Schwarzenegger), though he frequently pops up throughout season 1 by way of flashback and, in episode 8, as a manifestation of Sam's guilt. Because of all that, we'd say he's a shoo-in for a season 2 appearance, too.

We'd also speculate that The Boys characters Ashley Barrett (Colby Minifie) and Victoria Neuman (Claudia Doumit) will return, given that their cameos turned into more plot-significant roles towards the end of season 1.

Another The Boys actor has expressed interest in joining the spin-off, too. "I've already talked to [Eric] Kripke about it," Kimiko actor Karen Fukuhara told The Direct . "I don't know how, but I think Frenchie and Kimiko need to make an appearance somehow. I mean, they must be on a mission somewhere in that world, right?"

Gen V season 2 plot

Maddie Phillips in Gen V

Gen V season 1 ends on a massive cliffhanger, with Cate and Sam unexpectedly turning the whole world, or at least Godolkin University, upside down. After liberating The Woods, Cate and Sam lead the formerly imprisoned Supes on a killing spree throughout campus. Marie and co. are tasked with stopping them, and almost succeed until Homelander shows up and subdues Marie with a laser blast. We learn that a global news broadcast painted Marie, Emma, Jordan, and Andre as the campus killers and Cate and Sam as the real heroes – something that Cate likely conjured up with her super-strong manipulation powers.

It's likely that Gen V season 2 will take place after The Boys season 4 , so we're curious as to how that will all play out. Plus, Victoria Neuman made off with the super deadly anti-Supe virus after killing Dr. Edison – and this could also alter the events of The Boys season 4.

The new trailer for The Boys season 4 also featured Cate and Sam next to A-Train . So we might well get a follow-up to their murderous predicament there.

Gen V season 2 theories

Homelander (Antony Starr) in Gen V

There were many theories that popped up throughout Gen V season 1 – that unfortunately didn't pan out in the final episode. Some speculated that, despite the murder, Cate would still go on to carry out what Shetty started. As we saw in Gen V episode 8, Cate seems to have her own personal agenda, Shetty aside. Now that she's manipulated the world (and Homelander, yikes) into thinking she's a hero – everything is kind of up in the air. The fate of the Supes as we know it lies with Victoria Neuman, and we don't know if she's bringing that briefcase full of the virus into The Boys season 4.

We could speculate, however, that because of Cate and Sam's newfound, false heroism, Ashley Barett may very well enlist the duo as the newest members of the Seven. It'd be an insane plot twist, but given the way Gen V season 1 ends, anything is possible. Cate and Sam are the new Guardians of Godolkin, and Homelander is on their side. However, Ashley and the other Vought members who escaped to the helicopter must have recognized that Jordan and Marie saved their lives... right?
