Now that Dan Reynolds has shown off his Indiana Jones–like ability to escape boobytrapped ancient ruins — all without the aid of socks — in Imagine Dragons’ “Eyes Closed” video, the group will show that it can tour with its eyes closed as veterans of the road. The Imagine Dragons will kick off an arena tour this summer — tied to the release of their new nine-track album, Loom (out June 28) — and it will run through the fall.
Tickets will go on sale Friday. Various presales begin Tuesday. Full details are on the group’s website . There are also VIP packages including one with “a signed guitar played by a member of Imagine Dragons on stage that night.”

The concert was really great. Every members of the band had SO much energy that they shared with the public. Dan Reynolds made a speech on the LGBT youth at some point during the concert and that was great, he spoke with his heart and the public gave this love back. The light were blowing our minds and they were at their best during the whole concert.
At some point, there only were instumentals and the singer (Dan Reynolds) lied down on the ground and started doing yoga, which was pretty funny.
In the middle of the concert, they went on the second stage (smaller and in the middle of the room) so everyone could see them.
They ended the concert with the first song we have (my sisters and I) discovered them with six years ago.
I truly encourage people to go to their concert because they are one of the most fantastic band of the 21th century.
PS: if I can share an advise, if you really want to bring a goodie home, buy it BEFORE the concert. At the end, there are a lot of people and, I guess, less choice (we bought it before the concert so we had all the pleasure and time to choose what we wanted)

I’ve been listening to the group since so long, and the first song I heard from them was Radioactive, which everyone knows I’m sure of it. The concert run an hour late, but nobody was complaining and they started with I don’t know why, which immediately put everybody in the mood. There was many generations mixed, and all the adults around me didn’t really knew imagine dragons, weren’t really sure if they were going to like it, and were really surprised to see they were just loving the concert. The group was playing and singing at the perfection, all of them was contributing to the making of each songs, and there was such a good atmosphere it was really incredible. Dan Reynolds (the lead singer) talked really often to the crowd during the show and also took a moment to raise awareness about LGBT youth, which was a really touching moment. Their energy, their complicity with each other, everything was perfect, and the last song, radioactive, there so well known hit, just ended the concert with a great energy. I loved it, probably one of the best concert I’ve ever been. Imagine dragons is not like many artists who just come on stage, say hi, sing ( either in playback, or wrong), don’t interact with the crowd, and get out of stage without a thank you. Imagine dragons talked to us so many times it was really pleasant, I’ve never seen a group or an artist take the time to say something relevant, they even went into the crowd during the show, to the back of the concert hall so people in the back could see them at least for 3 songs. It was perfect, and I sure will go to their next concert, because seeing Imagine dragons in live, is just magic and unforgettable.
This was the first concert that we took our two children to (ages 10 and 12) and they had a great time! The venue (Shoreline Amphitheater) was fantastic and we enjoyed our view from the lawn.
The opening bands were engaging and certainly warmed up the crowd! When Imagine Dragons appeared, our kids were really excited and ready for a "full concert experience"! Imagine Dragons did not disappoint! They played all the popular songs as well as some older ones. They even changed stages halfway through the concert which was a great bonus! The band definitely knew how to keep the crowd engaged from asking us to sing along to "Yesterday" and even releasing large balloons for the crowd to bat around throughout the second half of the concert.
Their final few songs, which included Radioactive, were absolutely brilliant! They had so much energy at the end it was infectious! Their extended drumming section in Radioactive was awesome! They ended with two songs instead of a typical walk off and then come back for an encore. Their final song, Believer, was a rocking anthem that had us all walking away singing at the end of the concert. Overall, it was a great first concert for my kids and a great reminder of why live music matters so much!

With 46 million albums and 55 million songs sold globally, as well as 74 billion combined streams, Imagine Dragons remains one of the best-selling rock bands, reinventing the genre with their enormous breakout success across the 2010s. Billboard’s Top 3 rock songs of the decade belonged to the band – “Believer,” “Thunder” and “Radioactive.” Formed in 2009, Imagine Dragons developed a grassroots following with a series of independently released EPs before making their major label debut on KIDinaKORNER/Interscope with the 2012 EP Continued Silence. Night Visions, their 2012 full-length debut, entered the Billboard 200 at No. 2 and the lead-off track “Radioactive” topped Billboard’s Hot Rock Songs chart, won a GRAMMY for Best Rock Performance, and achieved RIAA Diamond status. 2015’s Smoke + Mirrors debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. EVOLVE, which followed in 2017, earned a GRAMMY nomination for Best Pop Vocal Album and unleashed three No. 1 Alternative radio hits: “Believer,” the GRAMMY-nominated “Thunder” and “Whatever It Takes.” All three songs were also top 5 hits at Top 40 radio, with “Thunder” rising to the No. 1 spot. The band’s fourth album, ORIGINS, debuted atop Billboard’s Alternative Albums and Top Rock Albums charts and lead single “Natural” spent nine weeks at No. 1 at alternative radio and set the current record for all-time “most spins in a week” at the format.
Their highly anticipated fifth studio album Mercury – Act 1 was released on September 3, 2021. Teaming up with esteemed producer Rick Rubin and with its title drawing inspiration from the word “mercurial,” Mercury – Act 1 is a candid album that abandons metaphorically charged lyrics and instead embraces emotional extremities, holding nothing back. It marks the band’s first album since 2018’s ORIGINS .
“Follow You” and “Cutthroat” were the first glimpses into the new record, released simultaneously in March 2021, with the former hitting No. 1 at alternative radio and Billboard’s Alternative Airplay chart, marking the band’s quickest ascent to the top of those charts. The album’s current single, “Wrecked,” is a confessional exploration of grief, written by lead vocalist Dan Reynolds after losing his sister-in-law to cancer in 2019.

Imagine Dragons Live Debut 'Mercury' Songs On Tour Opener: See The Setlist
By Katrina Nattress
August 8, 2022
It's fitting that Imagine Dragons would kick off their North American tour in the place where it all started for them: Utah. As The Salt Lake City Tribune pointed out, singer Dan Reynolds began the night by thanking the people of Utah for helping them get to where they are today .
“This band started over a decade ago right here in Utah,” he said. “You are the reason we are here today, you are the reason we are a band. ... Thank you for giving us a career.”
They then dove into a live debut of the Mercury — Act 2 track "Younger." Throughout the set they also live debuted "Sharks," "I'm Happy," and "Symphony" off the recently released album.
Imagine Dragons have been outspoken about their support for Ukraine and dedicated their hit "Believer" to the country, while Reynolds proudly swung a Ukrainian flag.
The band will continue the North American leg of its Mercury world tour through September. See a full list of tour dates here and check out fan-shot footage and the opener setlist below.

Take in an Imagine Dragons concert and you’ll notice not only the typical swarms of pop-devouring teens, but loads of families with young children, too, many of whom are clearly attending their first-ever live shows. Watch their eyes widen as each member of the Las Vegas four-piece commandeers a drum and beats the hell out of it as they rattle off what have become many of the decade’s defining arena-rock anthems.
Dan Reynolds
See latest videos, charts and news
By the night’s end, all those little newcomers will have been spoiled, by a towering band that has all but mastered the art of crafting songs meant to be performed for 20,000 fans at a clip. Dan Reynolds, Wayne Sermon, Ben McKee and Dan Platzman comprise what is unquestionably the prevailing big-stage rock band to emerge in the 2010s, and the guys continue to flourish in the mainstream, notching two more Top 5 Hot 100 singles from their third LP, Evolve , released last summer (“Believer” and “Thunder”).
Trending on Billboard
The group’s most stadium-ready project to date fuels Imagine Dragons’ latest world tour, which earlier this month kicked off its second U.S. leg and will be trekking around arenas and amphitheaters all summer long.
But for all its grandeur and confetti blasts, Imagine Dragons is often driven by darkness, regret and deep introspection, all of which are present in lyrics of some of its biggest songs — if you stop singing along long enough to actually listen to what you’re saying. See our list of the monster band’s ten greatest songs so far: a mix of singles and killer album tracks that round them out as an outfit that can do plenty more than just write the hits.
10. “Bleeding Out” [ Night Visions , 2012]
If you’ve checked out Imagine Dragons’ electrifying new Evolve World Tour, then you know the most poignant section of the show comes during the mid-performance acoustic set, featuring live cello, an auxiliary stage, and a moving revamp of the Night Visions album cut “Bleeding Out.” In the new, half-time rendition, passion and romantic stakes are finally realized in a song that was always nearly there, and should become a set staple, played just like the above video.
9. “Whatever It Takes” [ Evolve , 2017]
Imagine Dragons have vaulted so high largely due to the band’s embrace of its era’s dominant genres: namely, hip-hop and electronic music. The former is on display in the group’s latest radio darling, “Whatever It Takes,” where a rapped verse and beat sets up its widescreen chorus, which will now blare from sporting event speakers until the end of time. As an album, Evolve was criticized by some as catering too handily to the sound of 2017 (and 2018), but when songs like “Whatever It Takes” and “Thunder” are requested constantly and streamed hundreds of millions of times, who can really argue?
Imagine Dragons' 'Evolve' Is First Album With 3 Alternative Songs No. 1s This Decade
8. “Friction” [ Smoke + Mirrors , 2015]
The band’s most sonically sinister track extended its lifespan earlier this year with a feature in the new Mission Impossible: Fallout trailer, though “Friction” had been a standout hard-rock jam all along. Reynolds reins his voice into a villainous quiver before the full band blasts through the incendiary chorus. “Friction” is as heavy as ID have gone thus far, and — at least across these forceful three minutes — it certainly suits them. What we’d give for a heavier band like Disturbed or Godsmack to swoop in and cover this one.
7. “Amsterdam” [ Night Visions , 2012]
Like much of Night Visions , “Amsterdam” was recorded and released on a prior EP, 2011’s It’s Time , when the band still clung more tightly to its alt-rock roots than to the electro-claps that would come to define it. Despite its ostensibly uplifting “your time will come” hook, the mid-tempo fan favorite “Amsterdam” is a song full of regret and denial, hinging on Reynolds’ apologies to his family for disappointing them (stemming from his expulsion from Brigham Young University, perhaps?). “Amsterdam” is a microcosm of Imagine Dragons’ entire aesthetic: beyond the catchy choruses, there’s depth — and often darkness — at every turn.
6. “Shots” [ Smoke + Mirrors , 2015]
More pointed apologies come in “Shots,” another track where Reynolds falls deep into a hole of self-loathing, apologizing for “everything, oh, everything” he’s done wrong since birth. “Shots” — perhaps the most affecting song off Smoke + Mirrors — achieves greater catharsis over its ‘80s guitar picking, new-wavy synth and uncharacteristic falsetto. But don’t worry, a now-standard booming drum break comes near the end and absolutely rips in the live setting, with multiple band members pounding the skins.
Imagine Dragons' Dan Reynolds: Love Letter to the LGBTQ Community
5. “Believer” [ Evolve , 2017]
2017’s leader on the year-end Hot Rock Songs chart was something of a “Radioactive: Part II.” “Believer” similarly asserts itself with crashing digital rhythms looming over light-treading guitar, but with a renewed sense of urgency that was sometimes lost on Smoke + Mirrors . The syncopation in the pre-chorus reels you in and the operatic hook — a recent staple in movie and video game trailers — remains striking, even after the thousandth play. “Believer” brought the band back to radio in 2017 and it’s furthered the quintessential “Imagine Dragons sound,” one which nascent rock bands will emulate for years to come.
4. “Demons” [ Night Visions , 2012]
The band’s quintuple-Platinum-certified single and gargantuan adult contemporary crossover has been played to death on radio and reality singing shows, but at its foundation, “Demons” remains one of Imagine Dragons’ greatest sonic achievements. So much of the band’s aura orbits around Reynolds’ personal battles with depression and other physical diseases, and a line like “look into my eyes, it’s where my demons hide” cuts right to the core — he and the band write music to expel all sorts of trauma, and while their performances are impassioned and regularly inspiring, there’s always a storm lying just below the surface. When this decade soon wraps up, “Demons” will be there as one of the defining rock ballads of the 2010s.
3. “Walking The Wire,” [ Evolve , 2017]
If Imagine Dragons continues its skyward trajectory and eventually graduates to stadium tours, this will be a song worth the price of admission alone. “Walking the Wire” is sincerely gigantic and soars to places few bands dare to go. Reynolds is triumphant and bright, and the electronic elements are sparse, yet still manage to provide weight to the melody. The finale guitar break is a neat nod to their anthem-rock predecessors in U2. And the full-throated “oh” chorus is perhaps the most satisfying moment on all of Evolve .
Panic! at the Disco's 10 Greatest Songs: Critic's Picks
2. “Radioactive” [ Night Visions , 2012]
For many fans who would now consider themselves Imagine Dragons diehards, “Radioactive” was the clear entry point. The band’s first major hit holds two notable records with Billboard : the slowest ascension to the Hot 100 Top 5 (42 weeks, gotta love persistence) and the greatest amount of time spent on the chart, at a massive 87 weeks. “Radioactive” and its electro-rock gloom, influenced in part by the then-waning trend towards dubstep in pop music, defined the band’s dangerous sound to Top 40 listeners, and laid the blueprint for what’s likely been the most all-encompassing success any rock band has experienced in the last five years. In hindsight, “Welcome to a new age” was fairly prophetic.
1. “It’s Time” [ Night Visions , 2012]
Let’s be honest: Imagine Dragons en masse can become exhausting, considering the band’s nearly perpetual visibility since 2013. The songs are everywhere all the time. But somehow, the song that started it all for Imagine Dragons never tires. “It’s Time” — the band’s very first LP single, plucked from an earlier eponymous EP — is a concrete alt-rock banger: Reynolds’ vocals are crisp and propulsive, the “never changing who I am” hook is universal, and the lyric “the path to heaven runs through miles of clouded hell” might be the sharpest line the group has ever penned. It’s a song the guys will be playing for the rest of their lives, to millions of fans across the globe, and they could do much, much worse.

In tandem with the record, the band will embark on their biggest North American headline tour to date. Descending upon legendary venues across the country, it kicks off on July 30th in Camden, New Jersey at Freedom Mortgage Pavilion, rolls through major markets coast-to-coast, and concludes on October 22nd at Los Angeles’ iconic Hollywood Bowl.
Presales start on Wednesday, April 23rd with the general on sale starting on Friday, April 26th at 10 am local time via Ticketmaster .

Imagine Dragons’ sixth studio album Loom represents the pinnacle of their artistic journey of self-discovery and marks the best body of work they’ve ever made. Loom , produced entirely by Imagine Dragons and their longtime collaborators Mattman and Robin, finds the perfect balance between the classic sounds that have made them superstars and the freshness that brought them joy in the studio. Featuring nine new tracks including the hit single “ Eyes Closed ,” Loom signifies new beginnings on the horizon – the excitement for a new day, moments yet to come.
Last year, the members of Imagine Dragons found themselves with a rare and well-deserved break from the road—perhaps their longest in many years. So, they made the most of it by devoting that time to family and friends. Catalyzed by this respite with a refreshed perspective, the band rallied together in the studio and mined the same well of inspiration that fed their most beloved material. The musicians reflected on the past in order to catapult into a future where stylistic boundaries have disappeared entirely and anything is possible creatively. This journey has brought them to their most dynamic and definitive body of work to date, Loom .

Review: Imagine Dragons kick off world tour, telling Utah fans ‘you are the reason we are a band’
The pop-rock band gives an emotional, immersive performance of new songs and classic hits..
(Rick Egan | The Salt Lake Tribune) Dan Reynolds sings for Imagine Dragons, at Rice-Eccles Stadium, on Friday, Aug. 5, 2022.
Dan Reynolds, the frontman of Imagine Dragons, confessed to the crowd at Salt Lake City’s Rice-Eccles Stadium that he had a sinus infection — and that he woke up stressed about it Friday, worried about being able to perform on the first stop of the North American leg of the band’s world tour.
But, he added, he felt confident that the band’s Utah fans — who have been with Imagine Dragons since the beginning — would be able to sing with him, and for him, when needed.
“This band started over a decade ago right here in Utah,” Reynolds told the stadium crowd at the start of Friday night’s show, beaming as he described the band’s early shows at Salt Lake City’s iconic Kilby Court. “You are the reason we are here today, you are the reason we are a band. ... Thank you for giving us a career.”
It was an emotional opening to an emotional show, the first of 20 performances on this leg of the Grammy-winning pop-rock band’s Mercury World Tour. And when Imagine Dragons opened with “Younger,” a song off its newest album, “Mercury — Act 2,” accompanied by fireworks, it made a statement that it was going to be one hell of a show.
At any concert, there are maybe a handful of moments where audience members feel completely immersed in the show, whether it be from connection to the music itself or the surrounding atmosphere. Imagine Dragons’ show Friday was so immersive, the entire concert was that moment.
The set list was a good mix of the band’s established hits and cuts off of 2021′s “Mercy — Act 1″ and this year’s “Mercury — Act 2.” Songs like “Younger” and the classic “Radioactive” were accompanied with pyrotechnics. Confetti cannons went off five times. Wrist bands given to the audience were synchronized, and lt up with every song. Reynolds sometimes left the stage to go down into the crowd, interacting with fans and small children.
All of this stagecraft combined to let every person in the stadium — from the pit to the back rows — feel like they were an important part of the show, crucial to its success. The crowd was on its feet from the moment the band took the stage until the last chord of the final song vibrated through the breeze.
Among the highlights:
• Reynolds introduced “It’s Time,” the band’s first hit single, by recalling how he wrote the song in his dorm room at Brigham Young University. He held a pride flag while he sang the song, which has become an anthem for LGBTQ+ people, with the line in the chorus, “I’m never changing who I am.”
• Reynolds dedicated the song “Demons,” another early single, to “anyone with heavy depression and anxiety” and implored them to remember “you are not alone” and “your life is always worth living.”
• He dedicated the song “Believer” to Ukraine, and took a moment to speak against the Russian invasion there.
• For the song “On Top of the World,” large multi-color balloons were tossed around the pit, bobbing through the air like beach balls.
• A series of short videos guided the show, a narrative journey of the “Mercury” album — which Reynolds, choking up, said was “to celebrate those we have lost and to hope for something more.”
Being the first show of this leg of the tour, there were some opening-night glitches. Some fans were caught short by the stadium’s strict, and apparently last-minute, bag policy — forcing them to either take their purses back to their cars or check their bags. And there was the sudden jolt of pouring rain just before the Dragons took the stage, sending people running for cover or, if they were prepared, putting on their rain ponchos and jackets. (The stage crew diligently worked to clear water off the long walkway stage.)
Even those moments had their upside: Between sets, to pass the time and perhaps to keep spirits up, the audience across the stadium did The Wave, keeping it going for several rounds before Imagine Dragons took the stage.
Opening the show for Imagine Dragons were pop artist Kings Elliot — who some fans missed because of the delays getting into the stadium — and hip-hop artist Macklemore.
(Rick Egan | The Salt Lake Tribune) Macklemore performs at Rice-Eccles Stadium, on Friday, Aug. 5, 2022.
During his energetic 40-minute opening set, Macklemore and his band — all color-coordinated in green — played his iconic hits, like “Thrift Shop,” “Same Love,” and “White Walls,” as well as a new song, “Maniac.” At some points, Macklemore even hosed the pit down by squeezing out water from a spray tube. Before he left, Macklemore promised a new album next time he comes back to Utah.
Imagine Dragons fans in Utah are sometimes treated as a punchline, told that they don’t have “real” musical taste (whatever that may be). In Friday night’s show, the band proved what fans have appreciated since their first album, “Night Visions” — that Imagine Dragons make good, immersive music that anyone can connect to.
Like the young girl in the stands, dressed in an oversized Mercury World Tour shirt, dancing in the aisle and head-banging to the guitar solos. Or the older man in front of her, swaying back and forth and belting lyrics like nothing else in the world mattered in that moment.
More than a decade after their start in Utah clubs, Imagine Dragons continue to deliver for their fans, putting together a welcoming, brilliant environment. The first show of the Mercury World Tour was a triumph, and shows what it means to attend a concert in 2022.

Imagine Dragons' lead singer talks new album ‘Loom’ and upcoming tour
The band's tour in support of 'loom' will kick off on june 30 in nj.
Fox News Flash top headlines for April 22
Fox News Flash top headlines are here. Check out what's clicking on Foxnews.com.
The ambiguity of Imagine Dragons' next album starts from the cover.
Two figures stand in the distance separated by a dawning sun. Or is it setting? Lead singer and songwriter Dan Reynolds, who dreamed it up, sees it both ways.
"You can’t really tell if it’s a sunset or a sunrise, and then there are two people kind of separated standing in front of it. That really kind of sums it up thematically when I listen to it," he tells The Associated Press.
IMAGINE DRAGONS' DAN REYNOLDS IS ON A MISSION TO 'MAINSTREAM' HIS PAINFUL 'HIDDEN' DISEASE WITH NEW CAMPAIGN
"Is the beginning of something new, or is this the end of something? And the sunset and the sunrise always kind of feels that way to me. It could be either/or."
This album cover image released by KIDinaKORNER/Interscope shows "Loom" by Imagine Dragons. (AP/KIDinaKORNER/Interscope)
From the paranoid, slightly demented hip-hop-rock opening song "Wake Up" — with Reynolds singing: "Everybody’s coming for you/Wake up!" — to the strummy, swaying "Take Me to the Beach," it’s clear the nine-track album called "Loom" isn’t one thing. The album comes out June 28.
It's the first album since Reynolds’ divorce from musician Aja Volkman and there are songs about moving on — the sunny flirtatious "Nice to Meet Ya" — but also looking behind, like the bittersweet "In Your Corner" — "You turned your back/And now we’re here" — and "Don’t Forget Me," with the lyrics "Guess we got lost in the light."
"I just start creating and whatever comes out is what it is. That’s how I’ve been since I was 12. I try not to overthink it," says Reynolds. "It’s just an honest output sonically, lyrically of how I’m feeling in the moment."
For the driving, anthemic "Kid," Reynolds says he came into the studio with his life a little chaotic. He just spoke words that he was feeling over a drum loop: "You got to get yourself together, kid/You got to get it together." Then the band started building. The song, inspired by the ’90s music he loves, like by Gorillaz, became an exhortation for America, so adding a choir made sense.
"We had a lot of fun creating that one in the studio. I love the juxtaposition of things that are kind of tongue-in-cheek, but also maybe dark," he says. "Heavy concepts, but playful at the same time."
"Loom" was recorded in a new way for Imagine Dragons, which includes guitarist Wayne Sermon, bassist Ben McKee and drummer Daniel Platzman. For one thing, the band abandoned their usual preference for multiple producers in favor of just one — the Swedish duo of Mattman & Robin.
Another change was approaching it fresh. "We usually go into the record having a bunch of demos that we’ve already just self-produced and done on our own," Reynolds says. "But this one we had a bunch of demos and we just scrapped everything and went in with a clean slate."
"Loom" comes two years after "Mercury," a brooding, raw confessional double album that dealt with heartache, tragedy and Reynolds' struggles with sobriety.
"Eyes Closed," the new album's first single, signals a change, with a big stormy banger and the chest-pounding lyrics: "I’m back from the dead, from the back of my head/Been gone and facin’ horrors that should never be said."
Reynolds says he was going for a blustery, arrogant vibe but revealing a vulnerable core. "It really was about being something that on the outside looks put together and strong," he says, "but on the inside it’s on the verge of maybe shattering."
The title of the album — "Loom" — has multiple meanings. "Just because something is looming doesn’t necessarily mean it’s bad. It could be good," he says. "I also love the idea of the double meaning of it, kind of being a tapestry."
The Dragons will tour across North America in support of "Loom," kicking off June 30 in Camden, New Jersey , at Freedom Mortgage Pavilion and hitting such cities at Dallas, Seattle; Toronto; West Palm Beach, Florida; Denver; Charlotte, North Carolina; Phoenix; Salt Lake City; and concluding on Oct. 22 at the Hollywood Bowl.
Reynolds says touring is deep within Imagine Dragons' DNA and speaks about playing live as if it were a massive therapeutic effort, which their shows often become.
"It’s just a lot of people in a room together realizing they’re not alone in their their feelings," he says. "I don’t necessarily need them to feel happy or sad or anything. I just want them to look around them and see that other people are also feeling something and feeling, ‘I’m not alone in that.’"

Songs from "Loom" will make the setlist, of course. Reynolds considers it one of the band's most up-tempo collections, even though there are ballads and slow moments.
"A lot of the record is kind trying to come to terms with just accepting. Things are looming and incoming, for better or for worse, and there's just really nothing you could do other than accept it," he says. "I still haven’t learned to do that, but we will."
