Deftones Tap Incubus, TapRoot For Tour

After spending weeks hammering out the details, the Deftones have finally announced dates for a U.S. tour that will see the band make the rounds with fellow hard rockers Incubus and TapRoot.

The Deftones' "Back To School" tour gets rolling on October 13 in Seattle and has lined up shows through late November.

The trek follows the Deftones' successful tour of the U.S. this summer and brings to fruition a union with Incubus months in the making. Both the Deftones and Incubus had expressed an interest in touring together on MTV's "Total Request Live" during their visits to the set this summer, and the Deftones camp confirmed that a tour was in the works last month (see [article id="1427979"] Deftones Eye Incubus Tour As Chino Toils On Side Project" [/article]).

The trek will find the Deftones continuing to support their "White Pony" album, while Incubus hits the road on the heels of the release of its "When Incubus Attacks, Vol. 1" rarities EP.

For openers TapRoot, the tour will offer another high-profile opportunity to push its debut album, "Gift."

Incubus are one of the most famous alternative rock bands to date, known for their vast music palette. They started out with a funk infused metal sound, that brought to mind the likes of Red Hot Chili Peppers and The Roots. As they grew with age, so did their musical sound, they begun to incorporate other genres; thrash, scratchy hiphop, rap-metal and post-grunge which formed the Incubus sound that we all know of today. Their third album, Make Yourself gave them the foot in the door to success, with their smash hit, 'Drive', their music steered towards more of a NU-metal sound. Incubus and Deftones Announce Co-Headlining Summer Tour

LOS ANGELES , April 16, 2015 /PRNewswire/ — Alternative Rock heroes, Incubus and Deftones , announced today they will set out on a co-headlining summer tour visiting nearly 20 cities throughout the United States with more to be announced. The tour, produced by Live Nation, will kick off on July 22 at the DTE Energy Music Theatre in Clarkston, Mich. and take the two bands to New York City , Chicago , Boston , Houston , Dallas and more before wrapping up on August 30 in San Diego , Cali . Death From Above 1979 and The Bots will join the tour as special guests. Tickets go on sale beginning April 24 at www.livenation.com .

Multi-platinum alternative rock heavyweights  Incubus  recently signed with Island Records, and will release 4-song EP entitled  Trust Fall (Side A)  on May 12 . After nearly two years off the grid conceptualizing and recording new material,  Incubus,  under the management of Johnny Wright at Wright Entertainment Group,   has its sights set on a “non-traditional” album in 2015.  Founding member  Mike Einziger  told  Billboard.com  that although the band didn’t have “any plans of making this record” the new music is “pretty indicative of where we are now. This is what the band sounds like in 2015.” The EP’s digital pre-order is available on iTunes, and the CD and vinyl versions of the EP can be pre-ordered now  HERE . Twenty years since the release of their indie debut album in 1995,  Fungus Amongus . Incubus + Deftones Announce Co-Headlining 2015 Summer U.S. Tour

Cool tour alert:  Incubus and Deftones are teaming up for a 2015 co-headlining summer U.S. trek. The bands will start things up on July 22 in Clarkston, Mich., and will perform through the end of August when they play their final date in San Diego.

Death From Above 1979 and The Bots will be the tour openers and tickets for most dates will go on sale April 24 over at LiveNation.com . Check out the full list of dates below to find out the exact days ticket sales start for each stop.

Incubus will drop their latest effort, an EP called  Trust Fall (Side A), on May 12 with plans to release its  Side B  sometime later this year. Deftones have said they plan to release a new album this year, as well. Frontman  Chino Moreno told Rolling Stone last month that the new songs they’re writing are “ amazing ” and that they “wrote them in a really cool way.” As of now, Moreno says Deftones hope to have their new disc arrive in September or October.

Californian rockers, Incubus gained themselves an enormous following on the alternative metal scene in the early 2000's. Their chilled style mixed with heavy rock hinted influences from the likes of Red Hot Chilli Peppers and The Roots. Incubus managed to be both a nü-metal band and a DJ, making their music accessible to so many all around the world. Their major break through came about with the release of their debut album, Make Yourself, which included the smash hit track, 'Drive', this combined with their tour supporting the downtempo artist, gave them the push into stardom that they deserved. In just one year later, Incubus released their second album, Morning View, which rocketed into the charts at Number Two and contained the singles "Wish You Were Here", "11am" and "Are You In", which have since become their most famous songs to date.

Deftones were groundbreaking as one of the first groups to play heavy riffs and screamed vocals with more ethereal themes and lullaby singing, creating a string of bands to take influence in later years, including System Of A Down. After forming in 1988, also from California, the group released a strong demo which entered onto Madonna's record label, Maverick. Deftones built a dedicated fan base with an old fashioned approach of touring continuously, supporting the likes of Ozzy Osbourne, L7 and Korn. Soon they were world-wide famous and racking up sales of 200,000 on their single and album releases.
