The post How to Get Tickets to Kenny G’s 2023 Holiday Tour appeared first on Consequence .

Is it really the holidays without Kenny G ? Well, some lucky fans won’t even have to consider that question, because they’ll get the chance to experience all the silky magic of his soft-jazz sound live and in-person. On Tuesday, August 8th, the iconic saxophonist unveiled the details for his third annual “Miracles Holiday & Hits Tour.” Check out all the details and the full list of dates below, and grab your tickets here .

What Is Kenny G’s Next Tour?

Kenny G’s holiday music has been an inseparable part of the seasonal genre’s canon since his first holiday album, Miracles: The Holiday Album , debuted in 1994. Almost 30 years later, that record is still one of the best-selling holiday albums of all time.

So, naturally, Kenny G has leaned into that side of his career in recent years. He embarked on the first “Miracles Holiday & Hits Tour” a few years back, and has since turned it into an annual tradition of sorts.

This year’s run of the “Miracles Holiday & Hits Tour” will kick off in Westbury, New York, on December 1st, and will then play smaller towns and performing art centers through the middle of the month, hitting St. Louis on December 13th. After that, he’ll play a few more dates, and then wrap things up on December 16th in Lawrenceburg, Indiana. Check out the full list of dates below.

“Performing live is the best part of all the things I do musically, and I have been blessed to have had the opportunity to perform live for incredible audiences all over the world for many, many years,” Kenny G said in a statement. “Our annual holiday shows have come to mean so much to me and my band. We truly look forward to playing these classic melodies and sharing the joy of the season with you all.”

Who Is Opening for Kenny G on Tour?

There have been no announcements regarding an opener or supporting act to join Kenny G on his “Miracles Holiday & Hits Tour.”

How Can I Buy Tickets to See Kenny G’s 2023 Tour?

Tickets for Kenny G’s 2023 “Miracles Holiday & Hits Tour” will go on sale to the general public via Ticketmaster on Friday, August 11th, at 10:00 a.m. local time.

There will also be Live Nation pre-sales available for a number of the shows, beginning two days prior on August 9th at 10:00 a.m. local time. Some shows will offer a pre-sale to Citi credit card or Citibank Debit Mastercard holders, who can use the first six digits of their card codes to access pre-sale tickets through Live Nation. Other stops will have a more traditional pre-sale through Live Nation (use access code TRACK ).

Once tickets are on sale, you can also find them at StubHub , where orders are 100% guaranteed through StubHub’s FanProtect program. StubHub is a secondary market ticketing platform, and prices may be higher or lower than face value, depending on demand.

We had a great time... really nice there. Only problem was that when he gave away the sax, hardly no one knew you had to buy a ticket to have a chance to win. Overall great time. Plays really good. And as always, wish we could have spent more time and maybe would have gotten the VIP pass if we would have known it was available. thank you for the great experience

Kenny was friendly and sometimes making jokes. His performance was outstanding and his musicians were also great. He is so talented that he makes the saxophone sing. Thanks for the experience

The sound of Kenny G’s saxophone is as iconic as his curly coif; indeed, both are instantly recognizable. His latest release, New Standards , the title of his 19th studio album, fifth for Concord Records and first since 2015’ s Brazilian Nights , could well be used to describe his four-decade body of work, a vision of jazz that helped launch both a musical genre and radio format.  After director Penny Lane’s critically acclaimed HBO documentary, Listening to Kenny G – which humorously reconsiders the purist critical backlash to his music – and a demand performance on Kanye West’s Grammy-winning Jesus Is King album, it’s now cool to not only be Kenny G, but admit you’re a fan of his as well.

“I didn’t realize how strong the message was until I saw the finished film,” says Kenny, who has both the best-selling instrumental album of all time in the Diamond-selling, 12-times-platinum 1992 Breathless , earning him his only Grammy Award among 15 nominations, and the Guinness Book of World Records mark for longest sustained note ever recorded on the saxophone. The feature probes some of the many Kenny G accomplishments, from his song “Going Home” being used as the official end-of-work-day anthem in China to his skills as a golfer and airline pilot. He was also one of the original 10 investors in his Seattle hometown Starbucks Coffee.

Recalling his music spawning the “smooth jazz” phenomenon, Kenny explains, “ I ’m proud of the fact it was a new style of music that no one was either playing or writing at the time. And it touched a great many people who weren’t into traditional jazz, pop or R&B.  Somewhere in the middle, they found something they were looking for and liked.”

New Standards continues the musical path that has seen Kenny G sell 75 million albums around the world, looking back to the classic ‘50s and ‘60s jazz ballads for inspiration, updating them with new studio technology, such as the digital ability to piece together songs note by note from different performances. The tracks are almost equally divided between soprano and tenor sax, with one song, “Two of a Kind,” featuring him on both, duetting with himself, a slight, unintended hint of Seals & Crofts’ “ Summer Wind ” wafting through, while the wistful, airy “ Moonlight ” finds him taking a rare turn on alto sax, the instrument on which he first learned to play.

“I wanted to play songs with chord progressions that reflected the classic jazz era of Coltrane, Charlie Parker, Sonny Rollins, Cannonball Adderley and Dexter Gordon, while doing them my way, creating new standards,” he says.

For “ Legacy, ” he sampled the great Stan Getz playing tenor on a live, unaccompanied version of “Happy Birthday,” creating a duet with him on soprano sax.

“I took those individual notes and turned them into a melody I’m proud of,” explains Kenny. “I don’t think that’s ever been done before.”

Reminiscent of his global hit duet with a filmed Louis Armstrong on “What a Wonderful World,” Kenny G expects some jazz buffs night not be happy with his Getz tribute, even though, as was the case with the Armstrong song, he is donating all proceeds to the late musician’s estate and family, whom Kenny says are delighted with his version.\

Kenny performs a sprightly soprano sax on the opening “ Emeline, ” named after a close family friend, while the ultra-romantic “Only You” combines a variety of throwback chord changes with a soaring tenor sax gliding its way on top.

“Rendezvous” evokes a smoky jazz ballad of the ‘40s with its aching tenor, the first song Kenny G recorded for the album.“Paris by Night” evokes a foggy night strolling on the bridges across the Seine, while “Anthem” sports a duet between Kenny G on soprano and cello, giving the track a hymn-like, anthemic drive a song Kenny played live with the National Symphony in Nashville in December.

“ Blue Skies ” is an airy, whimsical melody he wrote with piano player Randy Waldman, a fellow airplane pilot — hence the title — whom he accompanies on soprano sax.  “Milestones” offers an homage to classic jazz tropes in name and sound, while the closing “ Waltz in Blue, ” titled for its three-quarter time crossed with a blues beat, ends the album on a rounded low B-flat, the perfect answer to the high E which begins the first track, “ Emeline. ”

The album forms an aural narrative, which makes it the perfect vehicle to demonstrate to film directors and music supervisors that Kenny G, the world’s most popular instrumental musician, is overdue to compose his first movie score.

“If any director needs a memorable instrumental for their film…” he offers. “I think I’ve proven what I can do.”

For the last several years, Kenny G has taken to the internet with gusto, his posts becoming memes and going viral, as he continues to have fun with the whole idea of being his iconic self, satirized in South Park , Trolls World Tour (as a frizzy-haired sax player threatens the whole pop music cosmos with his “smooth jazz”) and Saturday Night Live ’s Kenan Thompson-hosted “What’s Up With That?” segment, where Fred Armisen plays a certain frizzy-haired soprano sax player.

“I don’t know why they just don’t have me do it,” Kenny G laughs, perfectly in on the joke. “When I was on the show playing with Foster the People, I told them, ‘Hey guys, I’m right here.’ I can fake playing sax really well.”

And, as you can hear on the excellent new New Standards , he does quite fine when he plays for real, too.

Five Badass Things You Didn't Know About Kenny G

Jef Rouner June 5, 2014 5:00AM

Today is the 58th birthday of one Kenneth Gorelick, better known to the world as Kenny G. Now, when I say the name Kenny G you probably picture a man whose smooth jazz saxophoning is perfect for the uptight squares of the world, but who simply cannot hang with the truly badass musicians that you like. He's all right for a lame guy, right?

Well, get ready to have your minds blown, because Kenny G is several shades more awesome than you would ever believe.

5. He Can Hold A Note Longer Than the Running Time of Most Television Shows Pick your favorite TV show of all time. Mine's Doctor Who and each episode without commercials runs around 42 minutes. Now, picture yourself playing a single note on a wind instrument throughout that entire episode without stopping once. Kenny G can do that.

Using a technique called circular breathing where through intensive concentration a player breathes in through the nose while simultaneously exhaling through the mouth, Kenny G was able to play a single, uninterrupted e-flat at the J&R Music World in New York City in 1997. The Guinness Book of World Records recognizes this as the longest single note ever played. No matter what you think of his music, that is a truly badass physical accomplishment.

Speaking of physical accomplishments...

4. He's Basically the Best Golfing Musician in the World Lots of musicians play golf. Alice Cooper famously used the sport to deal with his alcoholism, and every single biography you'll read about the horror/glam-rocker will include that fact as an amusing side note. However, Kenny G makes Cooper look like an amateur.

Gorelick actually took up golf before music, and made the school golf team while not quite getting into jazz band. Eventually, that evened out and for two decades Kenny G set aside the sport for music. Once he picked up the clubs once again, though, it quickly became apparent that he was just as gifted in that realm as he is playing the sax. In 2006 Golf Digest ranked him No. 1 out of all the musician golfers then playing the game.

Of course, that's not his only hobby.

3. He Flies His Own Tour Plane There are just some jobs in the world guaranteed to automatically remove the underwear of any person who asks you what you do. Astronaut, for example, or President of the United States. Pilot is up there too, and Kenny G is one. He takes out his de Havilland Beaver for an hour or two nearly every day.

More than that, whereas most musicians with 75 million albums sold under their belts wouldn't even be willing to drive their own car from the airport, Kenny G co-pilots his own leased Learjet on tour .

There are rock stars out there terrified to get on a plane and end up the next Buddy Holly, but not Kenny G. He takes mocking God in a metal cylinder full of jet fuel and turns it into his morning commute on the way to a gig. At this point if you told me he rode a unicorn home, I would totally believe it.

Story continues on the next page.

Day trip to Suzdal from Moscow: transport, sights, maps and tips

kenny g tour bus

 DAY TRIP TO SUZDAL

Suzdal is one of the most popular destinations on the Golden Ring and the whole city is often described as an open-air museum.  The city has no railway station and practically no heavy industry, meaning that is has preserved its provincial charm and a great deal of architectural monuments.

kenny g tour bus

From Moscow, Suzdal is not as easy to get to as Sergiev Posad (the closest Golden Ring city to the capital) but it is worth going the extra distance as Suzdal provides more of a contrast from Moscow.  If you make use of high-speed trains it is possible and not too demanding to visit for even just a day, but of course spending the night there is recommended to soak in the atmosphere or to combine it with a visit to neighbouring Vladimir.  As the city is a very popular tourist destination you will have no problem finding a cafe or guesthouse there.  There is practically no public transport in the city, but the city is small and most sights are located relatively close to each other.

Getting There and Back

Via Vladimir

Direct to Suzdal

Buses directly to Suzdal leave from Moscow’s Schyolkovsky Bus Station.  There are about 9 buses a day and it takes around 4½ hours depending on traffic.  The buses stop at Vladimir too.  Using this option will mean a rather exhausting day trip.

Orientation and Main Sights

kenny g tour bus

Suzdal is a relatively small city and it is not difficult to walk around the city to see most of the sights.

Suzdal

The main road in the city is Ulitsa Lenina which runs north across the whole city.

Suzdal

The main sights of Suzdal are located either on or just off this road, including the two main sights: the Suzdal Kremlin in the south and the Spaso-Yevfimiev Monastery in the north.

Suzdal

More information about Suzdal can be found on our Suzdal  pages.

Suzdal is famous for its medovukha (mead) which is an alcoholic drink made out of honey.  It can be drunk either hot or cold, meaning it perfect in both summer and winter, and you will find it on practically every menu in the city.  There are various flavours of the drink available and even a non-alcoholic version.  In addition to medovukha, you can find all traditional Russian souvenirs in the city and there is a big souvenir market on Torgovaya Ploschad.

  • JeffKuptchuck 0 contributions 5.0 of 5 bubbles This is definitely a unique experience After looking at all of the big cathedrals in Moscow and being rather overwhelmed this was a much more intimate and personal experience. It was great to be able to be there by ourselves and the monk that showed us around and Anton both were obviously very passionate about the monastery so you were able to understand much better what the various churches and icons meant to them The view from the bell tower was awesome even if the climb up took some faith! Dinner was very good except for my wife who doesn't like fish and that is all they eat at the monastery besides vegetables, but still very unique dinner. Read more Written February 9, 2020

  • TanechkaVas 0 contributions 5.0 of 5 bubbles The whole day tour to Zvenigorod, the country side of Moscow, with Anton. We organized that tour from Australia well ahead of time, planning to visit Zvenigorod with big group of extended family and friends with teens as part of our New Year trip to Moscow. The communication with Anton, our guide, was excellent during the time since booking till the excursion day. The actual day was organized very good, taken into account mixed group of adults, born in USSR and kids, born in Australia. Anton organized our activities to be suitable for all of us. As adults, we were enjoyed country side during winter and Monastery's quietness and ability to jump to the cold "holy" water at one of the oldest Monasteries of Russia - Savva Storoghevskiy Man Monastery. That was the most amazing and nearly magical experience! Kids were enjoyed of snow and treats Anton provide for us, including buisquits and Sbiten'. We also visited very interesting Museum of Russian desserts and learn a lot about ancient russian sweets; have a look on our past in the Museum of USSR and bought some yammie things to enjoy later. In general we all agree that our tour to Zvenigorod with Anton was enjoyable and educational; well organized and unforgettable. We wish we would have more time there! We would recommend such trip to everyone wishing to see Russia's country side. Read more Written January 17, 2020

We had a fun time painting our Russian dolls (matryoshka) and finished the trip with a great feeling of connection to Russian culture, tasty food, fantastic people and magnificent architecture.   Do not hesitate to book this tour. It is worth your money and time. It was a great day, Thank you Anton! Read more Written January 14, 2020

There is an interesting balance of history, access you would not expect around a monastery, the visuals of the architecture and decoration, unique chance to observe the inner workings of the monastery, views from vantage points and the towers. Favourite parts included climbing the bell tower for the bell ringing and an exceptionally good meal. For something interestingly different that will add unique memories and experiences Read more Written December 20, 2019
