Soochipara, the most attractive waterfall is about 22 km away from Kalpetta. The journey to this waterfall itself is amazing through the serpentine roads with occasional hairpin bends with the green carpet of tea plantations making the background.

You have to walk one and a half kilometer through the scenic beauty of nature to reach this waterfalls. This is a famous picnic spot as well as a trekking center. It is about 200m high and ideal for rock climbing. Soochipara is also called as Sentinel Rock Falls.

Kanthanpara falls is located close to the rocky area of Soochipara. This is also a rejuvenating waterfall.

2. Meenmutty Falls

Located 29 km away from Kalpetta, 2 km of forest trek comes the stunning Meenmutty waterfalls. Dropping from nearly 1000 feet this waterfall has a magical effect. The cool serene ambiance of the falls is welcoming.

The gateway to Wayanad offers a breathtaking view of the valley. This is one of the highest points in Wayanad at 2296 feet above the sea level. Lakkidi located just 5 km away from Vythiri is a wonderful vantage point to have an entire look of the valley.

Set along the slope of a forest clad hill, beside three branches of a sprightly mountain stream that forks as it flows through the 150 acre property, coming together and broadening at the end of the slope, Vythiri Resort is an exquisite jungle hideaway and a naturalist's treasure trove. Wrapped in the enchantment of a tropical rainforest, beneath an enormous interlaced canopy formed by majestic trees, stone paved paths fringed by tropical plants wind through leading to brick coloured cottages, designed in architecture influenced to a great extent by the vernacular of the region. Built with wooden rafters on the roof and parquet flooring, furnished in wood and fabrics in a palette of earth colours - the accommodations are spacious, equipped with the state of the art in amenities and verandas that look out at fabulous views of the forest - an intimate experience of the surrounding sights and sounds. Available in configurations that range from lofty tree houses situated above the towering canopy higher up the slope of the hill and further down, cottages on stilts overlooking the stream, some equipped with Jacuzzis, others with private pools(temperature controlled) and a set of suites, they are all without exception, elegant and exclusive.

A rope bridge across one branch of the stream (sways gently as one gets across) leads to a restaurant and a coffee shop alongside, both overlooking the swimming pool at one end and a sweeping view of the forest all around. Everywhere, the muted hiss of the stream is a continuous serenade. Days usually begin with the rousing melody of a Malabar Whistling Thrush and then the forest comes alive. Bands of foraging monkeys and insects and birds begin their life songs. The day ahead is ripe with possibilities -splendidly plumed tropical birds on overhanging branches, colourful butterflies and the insistent chatter of cicadas, the irresistible lure of the jungle - the incessant throb of nature is the only clock you will need here. Allow yourself to be seduced by the promise of discovery, bliss and exaltation - body, mind and soul.

Vythiri the resort town is located in the Wayanand district of the Indian state of Kerala. There are many places to visit in the town of Vythiri and town basically serves as a place where you can merge as one with nature. Tourists throng to the town of Vythiri throughout the year to soak in the dense green cover, olive foliage, copious spice and rubber plantations, tea and coffee gardens.

You can take a walk through the Wayanand Forest with or without a guide and you can also indulge in activities like bird watching or spotting wild animals in nearby Muthanga Wildlife Sanctuary. Some other attractions include Pakshipathalam , the Edakkal caves, Meenmutty Falls, Banasura Sagar dam and Pookote Lake. Some of the exotic birds Emerald Dove, Paradise Fly Cather, Asian Fairy blue bird and the gold fronted Chloropsis can be spotted here at Pakshipathalam.

The hill station of Vythiri can be visited all year around but the best time is from October to May. It is very well connected to the other part of the country via air, rail and road. Resorts in the station are generally architected hut shape or like tree houses. Accommodation is not a major issue as you will find plenty of options to stay in your budget.

Vythiri located in Wayanad district is one of the popular destination of the district , it is located about 25 Km from Wayanad city. Form city center there are many buses that offers service to popular destination. Wayanad district is an important tourist destination hence it is well connected by other cities and town of Kerala State.

By Road – Wayanad can be reached easily via buses form cities of Kerala and other states. Private and government buses provides services to Wayanad. National Highway 212 passes by this district which makes road transportation an ease.

By Air – Calicut International Airport is nearest to Wayanad and Vythiri .

By Train – Kozhikode Railway Station is the nearest railway station.
