The Rostra Cruise Control kit is designed to add a cruise control system to those vehicles which did not come with one from the factory.  You can set your desired speed by using the Rostra cruise control switch that is steering column mounted.  Once you set your speed, the Rostra cruise control measures engine load and vehicle speed to ensure your car stays cruising at the desired speed.  You can slow down or accelerate from your cruise by using ths switch for ease of use. The cruise controls feature set speed, tap up/tap down (1 mph per tap), coast/reduce speed, resume/accelerate, and controlled resume rate.

While most of our customers install these aftermarket kits themselves, we recommend professional install of this cruise control system.

2019 Cruise Control Retrofit --HELP! somebody has to know how to do this.

I have been trying to figure out how to get cruise control retrofitted into my 2019 Van. So far it's been a huge headache. I'm convinced that it's possible because it should be. Someone out there knows how to do this even though the 2019 changed the cruise setup. I took it to the dealer about 2 months ago. Their Sprinter service specialist did some research and came back and told me that for the price of $750, they could order the part and be done with it, at least that what he thought though he also explained that they had never done one so wasn't quite sure. I took it in. They ordered the wrong part and told that to me two days later when I picked up the van and that was after waiting for 6 weeks for them to get the part in to begin with. So he found the part locally and had it in a week later. Took the van back in two days ago. Got a call today that they couldn't get it to work and told me that it wasn't just the switch but also a whole new steering wheel that I would need for another $3250. I told the tech that was a significantly higher investment and that I needed to think about it. He followed that up by saying, oh, and even if you get the new steering wheel, I don't know if that's all you need or if it will work. So, here I am, wondering how do you retrofit a 2019 sprinter that has no frills (no controls on the steering wheel, no switch on the dash or other related parts) with cruise control? It has to be possible. Any direction appreciated.

It’s in! Rostra part 250-9650 for 2019 Sprinter. It functions perfectly. Pretty simple mechanism and no need for OEM software update. I’m super happy with it thus far. My only complaint about it which could probably be addressed with some simple design change is the overall location that it needs to be placed in. It’s pretty low on the steering column and is short so when driving in a straight line is not visible. You have to lean forward to see what you’re doing but I think with practice that will become less necessary since the buttons are pretty easy to understand. The end of it is pretty close to my right knee, maybe a couple of inches so hoping that doesn’t become a nuisance or that I break it because I hit it by accident. But really, for the price, it’s great! Just wanted folks to be aware.

I am installing this in my 2019 Sprinter. I have a few questions. What is this purple/white wire and where does it go? The instructions don’t show it. (see first photo). Second, when I connect the black and red wires to the CAN HI and LO, should I attach them at the backside of the ODB port, or at the bundle of wires coming out of the Gateway Module shown in the instructions? (see the other two photos) What is involved in removing the plastic shroud in order to drill a hole in it for the control wand? And where exactly do I drill the hole - the instructions refer to a template, but I don’t see one. Is there an issue with having to lock the position of the steering sensor, as is mentioned in YouTube installation videos of older Sprinters?

Great discussion, I bought this but have not installed. Two things bring me pause. (1) splicing into my wore harness, I dont like this. Is there an alternative? (2) the Rostra manual says you can't use a 2 way radio in your van because it can interfere, wtf? Is this a real concern? Anybody understand why?Thanks!

I installed it in my 2019 Freightliner Sprinter. The instructions that came with the cruise control were outdated and wrong in places - be sure to download the latest version from Rostra's website. Two issues I had - the power-on led on the stalk is not easily visible, regardless of where you place it. Second, the plastic shroud you have to attach to in this model Sprinter is very flimsy. It also doesn't seem to be removable. I would suggest backing up the mounting hole with a fender washer on each side of the plastic. Also, there's no problem splicing into the wiring harness - just do it near where the wires enter the back of the ODB2 connector.

The Rostra instructions for where to connect the red power wire isn't updated for newer sprinters (at least I couldn't find the fuse box referenced under the lower driver dash panel). I ended up running the wire across to underneath the passenger footwell fuse box and connected it to unassigned S15-23 slot (near where I powered my aftermarket stereo). The problem with this fuse location is it appears to be always-on. Has anyone figured out a better place to connect this power cable so it's powered on ignition? I considered running it under the driver seat accessory connection but found it easier to fish the wire to the passenger footwell. Do any fuse locations under the passenger footwell power on ignition only? Click to expand...

PRECISION CRUISE is a retrofit electronic cruise control system that provides all the functionality and convenience of Original Equipment systems, along with many enhanced features. This unit comes pre-programed for your specific vehicle and the full vehicle compatibility list can be found under the compatibility tab above.

Luxury and Convenience

Our PRECISION CRUISE Control Systems take all the stress and frustration out of long distance travelling. Simply activate the Cruise Control and remove your foot from the accelerator pedal for a much smoother and more comfortable driving experience. Should you wish to increase or decrease your speed to suit driving conditions or traffic flow speeds, the cruise control provides the option to increase or decrease your speed by pressing the respective button on the cruise control arm.

Dual Memory Settings

The PRECISION CRUISE Control System features the ability to preset two Cruise speeds in the Cruise memory. This enables you to drive at your most commonly used cruise speeds at the touch of a button, without having to drive to the desired speed first.

Original Equipment Quality Equipment

All of our Cruise Contol Equipment is OE Quality and comes complete with a 'Plug n Play' Pedal Harness to reduce Installation time and cost. Our Universal Cruise Arm (pictured) is an OE Quality Cruise Arm with all the required functionality and performance of original equipment systems. However, there is also the option on certain vehicles to incorporate the Original Equipment Cruise Control Switch for an even more professional installation.

Independent Speed Limiting

The Cruise Control also features the option of setting an Independent Speed Limit. This is controlled via the Universal Cruise Arm and can be activated to prevent the driver from speeding in areas where speed limit restrictions are enforced. The Cruise control can still be used independently below this limit. Please note that this facility is not available on vehicles where the Original Equipment Cruise Switch has been installed.

Reduces the Risk of Speeding Fines

Recently, there has been a dramatic increase in the number of speed cameras and police surveillance equipment on the roads. Using the PRECISION CRUISE enables the driver to mainatain a safe (and legal) speed limit without the worry of being penalised.

Driving Optimisation and Fuel Saving

When the Cruise Control is activated, the vehicle speed is regulated more than 50 times per second, optimising driving performance. This in turn can also reduce fuel and transportation costs without comprimising vehicle performance.

• Product Description

This is a complete Rostra Speed Limiter for the vehicle mentioned in the title. This kit does NOT require dealer programming. Easy installation with very little disassembly. Plug-n-play kit with only 3 wires to connect to vehicle with more connections needed if you have factory cruise control. Please select if the was manufactured with cruise and select what speed you would like the vehicle limited to. Kit comes with installation instructions. Please call with any questions regarding this kit. 

  Problem

Your company drivers have a lead foot when they're behind the wheel of your vehicles. This can not only result in citations being issued to your drivers but can potentially cause an increase in your insurance premiums, excessive wear and tear on the vehicle, elevated fuel usage and overall cost of vehicle maintenance.

Vehicle speed-limiting modules with pre-programmed maximum driving speeds are now available from Rostra Accessories. These modules are vehicle-specific and once connected to the throttle control system, they will not allow a driver to accelerate past a specific speed. As well, these modules are tamper-proof and their maximum set speed cannot be altered by the driver in any way once programmed. Such a device can be uniquely useful in the following situations:

• In the vehicles of first-time drivers
• On large construction sites
• In cities with multiple school zones
• In large vehicle fleets with multiple drivers
• In parks with low speed limits
• In rental vehicles

Product Components

Rostra's vehicle speed-limiting systems typically consist of a pre-programmed control module, accelerator pedal interface harness, and OBD-II connector.

For Vehicles Equipped with Original Equipment Cruise Control Functionality

Rostra's speed-limiting systems work by blocking communication from the accelerator pedal being controlled by the driver's foot once the set speed limit has been reached. If the vehicle is equipped with an original equipment cruise control system, the steering wheel or control stalk-mounted cruise control buttons can allow a driver to surpass the set speed limit. For this reason, installers  MUST  also order part number 250-3766 which will disallow cruise control functionality past the set sp eed limit.

Cruising the Moskva River: A short guide to boat trips in Russia’s capital

There’s hardly a better way to absorb Moscow’s atmosphere than on a ship sailing up and down the Moskva River. While complicated ticketing, loud music and chilling winds might dampen the anticipated fun, this checklist will help you to enjoy the scenic views and not fall into common tourist traps.

How to find the right boat?

There are plenty of boats and selecting the right one might be challenging. The size of the boat should be your main criteria.

Plenty of small boats cruise the Moskva River, and the most vivid one is this yellow Lay’s-branded boat. Everyone who has ever visited Moscow probably has seen it.

This option might leave a passenger disembarking partially deaf as the merciless Russian pop music blasts onboard. A free spirit, however, will find partying on such a vessel to be an unforgettable and authentic experience that’s almost a metaphor for life in modern Russia: too loud, and sometimes too welcoming. Tickets start at $13 (800 rubles) per person.

Bigger boats offer smoother sailing and tend to attract foreign visitors because of their distinct Soviet aura. Indeed, many of the older vessels must have seen better days. They are still afloat, however, and getting aboard is a unique ‘cultural’ experience. Sometimes the crew might offer lunch or dinner to passengers, but this option must be purchased with the ticket. Here is one such  option  offering dinner for $24 (1,490 rubles).

If you want to travel in style, consider Flotilla Radisson. These large, modern vessels are quite posh, with a cozy restaurant and an attentive crew at your service. Even though the selection of wines and food is modest, these vessels are still much better than other boats.

Surprisingly, the luxurious boats are priced rather modestly, and a single ticket goes for $17-$32 (1,100-2,000 rubles); also expect a reasonable restaurant bill on top.

How to buy tickets?

Women holding photos of ships promise huge discounts to “the young and beautiful,” and give personal invitations for river tours. They sound and look nice, but there’s a small catch: their ticket prices are usually more than those purchased online.

“We bought tickets from street hawkers for 900 rubles each, only to later discover that the other passengers bought their tickets twice as cheap!”  wrote  (in Russian) a disappointed Rostislav on a travel company website.

Nevertheless, buying from street hawkers has one considerable advantage: they personally escort you to the vessel so that you don’t waste time looking for the boat on your own.

Flotilla Radisson has official ticket offices at Gorky Park and Hotel Ukraine, but they’re often sold out.

Buying online is an option that might save some cash. Websites such as  this   offer considerable discounts for tickets sold online. On a busy Friday night an online purchase might be the only chance to get a ticket on a Flotilla Radisson boat.

This  website  (in Russian) offers multiple options for short river cruises in and around the city center, including offbeat options such as ‘disco cruises’ and ‘children cruises.’ This other  website  sells tickets online, but doesn’t have an English version. The interface is intuitive, however.

Buying tickets online has its bad points, however. The most common is confusing which pier you should go to and missing your river tour.

“I once bought tickets online to save with the discount that the website offered,” said Igor Shvarkin from Moscow. “The pier was initially marked as ‘Park Kultury,’ but when I arrived it wasn’t easy to find my boat because there were too many there. My guests had to walk a considerable distance before I finally found the vessel that accepted my tickets purchased online,” said the man.

There are two main boarding piers in the city center:  Hotel Ukraine  and  Park Kultury . Always take note of your particular berth when buying tickets online.

Where to sit onboard?

Even on a warm day, the headwind might be chilly for passengers on deck. Make sure you have warm clothes, or that the crew has blankets ready upon request.

The glass-encased hold makes the tour much more comfortable, but not at the expense of having an enjoyable experience.

Getting off the boat requires preparation as well. Ideally, you should be able to disembark on any pier along the way. In reality, passengers never know where the boat’s captain will make the next stop. Street hawkers often tell passengers in advance where they’ll be able to disembark. If you buy tickets online then you’ll have to research it yourself.

There’s a chance that the captain won’t make any stops at all and will take you back to where the tour began, which is the case with Flotilla Radisson. The safest option is to automatically expect that you’ll return to the pier where you started.

From Oceanside to Escondido in a Flash

Our east-west SPRINTER hybrid rail spans 22-miles and connects Oceanside, Vista, San Marcos, and Escondido—serving 15 stations along the Highway 78 corridor.

The SPRINTER runs every 30 minutes in each direction Monday through Friday, from approximately 4 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday trains run later. Saturday, Sunday, and holiday trains operate every 30 minutes between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. and hourly before 10 a.m. and after 6 p.m.
