The Dolphin tour is one of our most popular daytime paddle tours. This one leaves from key largo. We will paddle past the dolphins, see some of the local real estate, then paddle back into the mangrove tunnels.

What time does the kayaking tour start.

Is the tour guided or we go by ourselves?

All our tours are guided by trained professional tour guides. They make sure that you are safe and that you get the most out of the experience. For the kayaking adventure, the tour guide will even jump in the water and show you different critters, educate you about them.

Do you offer shuttle service to your location?

We do not offer shuttle service. We do offer complimentary garage parking for the duration of the tour.

Are there restrooms, changing rooms on your property?

There is a restroom facility located beside the pool on the Beachside Resort & Residences that our tour guests are welcome to use.

What is a minimum age for your kayaking tours?

Our tours are suitable for kids 4 years old and up riding a double kayak with a parent.

Are the night kayak tours private? How many people go on the tour?

Night Kayak is the group activity. Our fully booked tour will have 6 single kayaks and 6 double kayaks on it.

I am trying to book a single kayak but the reservation system doesn't let me, I only see doubles?

That would mean that all the singles are already booked. Please browse other dates or tour times. Our online booking system shows real-time availability - if it doesn't let you book - it means we don't have it available.

If all single kayaks are booked, can I book a double and ride solo?

It is possible for a single person to ride a double kayak solo but that person needs to be 190lbs or less because all the weight will be just on one end of the boat (without anything on the other end to counter-weight).

What is the weight limit of the kayaks?

Single kayak 250lbs Double kayak 350lbs for two people combined weight

Is there a big difference single vs double kayak? Do you see more in a single?

In our opinion the perception of the tour is about the same in single or double kayak.

What do you recommend we wear for the kayak tour? Are we going to get wet?

Shorts and t-shirts. Bring a hoodie for colder nights during winter time. You might get a little wet but you shouldn't get soaked. Shoes, water shoes and flip flops stay on the dock as they scratch the plexiglass bottom of the kayaks.

Is is buggy there at night, are there mosquitoes? Can we use the bug spray on the Kayaking tour?

It's not buggy at all despite what most people think. Please DO NOT use bug spray as the chemicals that are in it damage the clear coat of the plexiglass kayak bottoms.

For the Kayaking tour, do you have lockers where we can leave our valuables?

We have a dock-box that we lock for the duration of the tour. You're welcome to leave your things inside and your tour guide will unlock it after the tour.

Can we bring drinks? Is alcohol allowed?

Alcohol is not allowed on the kayaks, but it is on the boat. For kayaking, you can bring a bottle of water etc but alcohol is not allowed. You have to be 100% sober to do this tour. If you show signs of intoxication we will refuse service and you will not be refunded. Your safety is our priority. For boat trips, you're welcome to bring your own alcohol, and we have a cooler to keep it cool.

What are we going to see on the kayak tour?

You will see nocturnal marine life that becomes active at night but we can't promise any particular animals as every tour is different and we don't have residential critters that would always be waiting there for us :)

What is your cancellation policy?

Minimum 24hrs notice before scheduled tour to receive full refund - that gives us a chance to resell your tickets. We reserve the right to cancel the tour for safety reasons, fe. weather etc. If we cancel the tour - everybody receives full refund. Refunds usually take around 10 business days to process and reflect on your credit card.

Making Your Vacations Memorable with PADDLE! The Florida Keys

The location was easy to find and plenty of parking, the cost was adequate and having a small group meant more time for questions and customized experience. The trip started with a small safety briefing, then we moved on to tips for better and more efficient kayaking. Throughout the entire trip the guide looked out and pointed out wild life, while providing lots of information about the area, culture and environment. I highly recommend "Paddle the Florida Keys"

This is the only place to properly PADDLE! the Florida Keys! Don't be fooled by impostors. Scott and his crew are the best. I've been out with them on the weekly locals night when their generosity benefits our local food bank. You just know when you walk in that this is much more than a business. These folks are there to make sure you have a great time and they are very good at it.

We went to the Paddle! the Florida Keys and rented paddleboards. Based upon the advice of the staff, we went down a long narrow channel in the ocean that eventually opened into a large lagoon. Very peaceful and getting through the mangroves was tricky at times, but made it all the more enjoyable tackling the challenge. Afterwards we went to a small island about 400 yards offshore that had a swing and hammock. Overall a very enjoyable experience.

Joe guided us on the 2 hour eco tour and we had a fantastic time. Joe is knowledgeable about the various local ecology, including the numerous fish and crabs we encountered on our mangrove trip. It was one of the highlights of our vacation and is a must for anyone looking to get outside and unplugged. All the folks at Paddle the Florida Keys were awesome, and Joe absolutely ROCKS! Thanks for a great time.

Have you ever wondered what the inside of some of North Jersey's most historic and elaborate homes look like? Now is your chance to find out.

In May, there are home tours being held in both Morristown and Short Hills, where visitors are invited to explore a curated list of the areas most notable properties. And, even better, all of the money collected from ticket purchases go towards funding vital programs and services in their respective communities.

So, if you're looking for something to do this month while also supporting local initiatives, here are two home tour events taking place in North Jersey:

Historic District House Tour, Morristown - May 19th

The Macculloch Hall Historical Museum will be hosting its bi-annual Historic District House Tour in Morristown on May 19th. This tour, which has taken place for over ten years, is a fundraiser to support the programs and events held by the museum, which is at the center of the town's historic district.

"Macculloch Hall is considered an anchor of the historic district," said Tricia Pongracz, executive director of Macculloch Hall. "So, you've got this gem of a museum that supports the community, and that the community is able to support through this house tour."

The property of Macculloch Hall dates back to the 18th century, and George and Louisa Macculloch built their house there in 1810, Pongracz. A descendant of the Maccullochs lived in the home until the 1940s before it was chartered as a Morristown community museum in 1950.

In addition to Macculloch Hall, tour visitors will be able to explore the Kellogg Club, another historic mansion, as well as six private homes within Morristown's historic district. The self-guided tour begins at Macculloch Hall, where visitors can pick up their tour guidebook for more information on each of the properties.

Pongracz said this year's featured home was used as the set of Meryl Streep's film, "One True Thing." The Queen Anne-style Victorian home was first built in 1886 and is located just one block from the Macculloch Hall Historical Museum.

"What's great about the line up of homes this year is that we have homes that have recently been restored and conserved, or changed on the inside. So, what you're going to be able to see is the breadth and depth of how historic architecture is valued and reinterpreted in a 21st century context," Pongracz said. "Everyone who has moved in is a steward and they know that they're stewarding these historic homes in this historic neighborhood with the hope that these houses and this neighborhood are going to be here in 100 years."

The tour features preserved homes that were originally built in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, but there is also a home on the tour that was built in the 21st century. While the home is newer than the other properties, Pongracz said it was built in a way that blends into and celebrates the architectural history of the neighborhood.

Pongracz said the event was made possible through help from local businesses and sponsors, including main event sponsors Millea Bros Auctions + Appraisals and Simon Quick Advisors.

"It's our board really working hard to continue to make Macculloch Hall relevant not only to the broader community but within this little architectural environment as well," she said. "The board has a deep commitment to the museum because they value it and they just want this architectural history to survive."

H.O.M.E. Tour of Short Hills - May 31st

On May 31st, The Warehouse NJ — a non-profit that collects and redistributes used furniture for people coming out of tragedy — will be hosting their 2nd annual H.O.M.E. Tour of Short Hills as a fundraiser for their organization.

Margaret Santana, secretary for The Warehouse NJ and the H.O.M.E. event chair, said they previously funded their work solely through their annual paddle fundraiser. But, as the organization approaches its five-year anniversary, she said they started the H.O.M.E. — Helping Others Move Equitably — tour last year to raise more money so they could serve additional clients.

"We're running around and picking up all this beautiful furniture from beautiful homes and giving them a second life," she said. "So, when we thought of what we wanted to do for our next fundraiser, the idea of a home tour came to mind because one of the things that really strikes us whenever we do a move is that when we take that empty space and we give them a sofa, a bed, a table to eat at, it actually takes that space and makes it a home."

Like last year, the home tour will feature five carefully curated homes throughout Short Hills that have a unique story to tell, Santana said, whether it be a piece of its history, a particular renovation or any meaningful memories that have made it a home. She said that in addition to finding homes from different eras and with varying architectural styles, they included both extravagant "wow" houses and properties that are more relatable to the average person.

Santana said that because tickets sold out within a week or two of the event being announced last year, they made sure to increase the number of tickets available for this year's tour. To maintain the flow of the tour and ensure guests are respectful of the homes, especially given the increase in tickets, she said there will be volunteer docents staged in each home throughout the tour, just like last year.

"We'll basically have people stationed throughout every home. For the homeowners privacy, we also don't reveal the homes until the morning of or the day before for VIP ticket holders," she said. "At every home there is a check in so we can make sure that there are only ticket holders entering the homes. We have it very managed to ensure the privacy of the homeowners."

New this year is an online auction with designer items and unique in-home experiences and services. Running from May 27 to May 31, Santana said that while the items in the auction will be on display during the tour, bidding is open to non-tour attendees as well. Plus, for VIP ticket holders, there will be a Preview Party the night before the H.O.M.E. Tour, where guests can enjoy cocktails at a bonus sixth home.

There are also a variety of high-end, home-related sponsors, including architects and designers, that have helped make the event possible, Santana said.

"It's more of an art than a science putting this together," she said. "We're really proud about the fact that a couple of the homeowners enjoyed being part of the tour so much last year that they're on our committee this year. It's helping a good cause."

Dutchman’s opened in 2022 as a pop-up housed at Nomad pizza in Brunswick’s Fort Andross building. There are 10 or so Mister Bagel locations in Maine, including South Portland and Falmouth. It all began with the Portland location, which was the first bagel shop to open in Maine. The late Rick Hartglass started Mister Bagel in 1977, and it is still a family business. THE WORKS CAFE

The Works Cafe is an institution on the edge of the Portland’s Old Port. It opened in 1990 as Bagel Works before it changed its name in 2002. The original shop in this regional chain opened in Manchester, Vermont, in 1988, and there are 11 locations around New England, though just the one in Maine. Gone are the ’90s-era banana-walnut bagels and cold pizza cream cheese, but The Works Cafe is still a reliable place to grab a salt, multigrain or cinnamon raisin bagel, among others. Amy Olson Retires From LPGA Tour to Focus on Motherhood

Amy Olson always had this plan.

Play on the LPGA Tour for 10 years. Get married. Have kids. Retire to focus on motherhood.

So, after she announced she was pregnant last March, Olson knew time was ticking on her playing career. She teed it up in the U.S. Women’s Open at Pebble Beach Golf Links seven months pregnant and went on maternity leave not long after, ultimately having her daughter, Carly Gray Olson, on September 15.

Becoming a mother is something that often cataclysmically shifts an athlete’s mindset, and Olson was no exception, making it that much easier to share via Instagram that she’d be retiring from professional golf, a decision that Olson couldn’t have been more at peace with when she finally hit the post button.

“Truly, my biggest dream is to be a world-class mom and a world-class wife,” said Olson. “Those are my two biggest goals, and that looks different for everybody. But for me, it means being present more than I’ve been able to while I’ve been on Tour.

“I have so much appreciation for what my mom did for my brother and I, and the kind of life and home life that she cultivated. She was a stay-at-home mom. She ended up homeschooling my brother and I, and she's a huge role model for me. There's a lot of things that she did, (and) I want to be able to walk in her footsteps.”

Every ending, no matter the reason, often has its bittersweetness, its moments of reflection and wondering what would’ve happened had all the what-ifs come true. Olson definitely has things she wanted to achieve in her professional golf career that didn’t end up panning out – winning a tournament, winning a major, playing in the Solheim Cup – but she isn’t a person who lingers on the could’ve, would’ve, should’ve moments in her life.

“When I think about regrets, it would have to be something that I could have done differently,” said Olson. “I'm sure you could point to different times where I could have treated somebody better. I could have said something, and I didn't. It's not that I walked perfectly. But as far as golf and what I put into it, I don't think I could have tried harder. I don't think I could have put more into it than I did.”

When she looks back at her last decade on the LPGA Tour, some moments stand out better in Olson’s mind than others. Victory eluded her at both The Amundi Evian Championship in 2018 and the U.S. Women’s Open in 2020, the latter of which saw Olson unexpectedly lose her father-in-law Lee that Saturday night.

Those final few days in Houston were emotional for Olson, who grappled with waves of grief during the rain-delayed final round that was pushed to a Monday finish at Champions Club. But it’s a moment she now looks back on with understanding, knowing that as heart-wrenching as it was at the time, she grew from that experience in the end.

“The two majors that I contended in, the Evian and then the U.S. (Women’s) Open, both of them ended up in heartache for me whether it was the tragedy around the U.S. (Women’s) Open with my husband's father passing away,” Olson reflected. “It was really, really hard. But I feel like it encapsulates so much of life where you have hard things you have to do.

“You get through them, you overcome and you move forward. That's truly what golf taught me in the end is that you keep putting yourself out there. You keep trying. You keep working hard. You don't always have control of the results, but no matter what, you keep moving forward.”

And there are other times that Olson vividly recalls for entirely different reasons. Sometimes the days as a professional athlete blend together, but there are moments that inexplicably will always stay in a player’s mind long after their final score is posted.

“Another memory that I remember that nobody else probably remembers, but at the Kia Classic, I was like six over through (33) holes,” Olson recalled. “I'm like, I'm gonna miss the cut here. I end up rattling off a few birdies to make the cut. Then, on the weekend, I ended up 10 under and finished second place.

“So being able to turn it around and still believe it even though things weren't going really well at the beginning of that tournament, to turn it around and have an amazing run that ended up in second place, that was so much fun.”

Fun for Olson now includes tummy time and diaper changes, car seats and baby clothes, and she couldn’t be happier about it. Many wondered if she might turn her attention towards a passion project or work on becoming a professional pickleball player once she decided to step away from golf. But Olson’s free time is just a bit more limited with Carly in the picture.

“It's a little hard now that she's on the move,” said Olson. “I can't just put her in her stroller and go play pickleball. That'll be one of those things that we want to do as a family. I can't wait until she can pick up a paddle, and we can hit it back and forth. Grant and I, we love being teammates on the pickleball court. We maybe even love beating each other on opposite teams. But being active and being able to do those things with our family and our friends is definitely part of the plan.”

This Mother’s Day marks Olson’s first with her daughter, and while she isn’t bidding farewell to the LPGA Tour at a tournament like some others might have done, she wants her counterparts to know just how much she enjoyed playing and living life alongside them these past 10 years. Saying goodbye to something that’s been a constant in your life since you were a little girl is incredibly difficult, especially for a player like Olson, who has developed deep, personal relationships with many that she competed alongside week in and week out on Tour. But she’s at ease seeing her road as a pro golfer come to an end.

“When you get to the end of any sort of a journey, what you remember is the people,” Olson said. “I've made so many good friends in my time out there, and that's probably the hardest thing is moving on and realizing you're not going to see them in a day-to-day capacity like you did before. I would just say thank you to all of the other players on the LPGA. I so enjoyed our time on the fairways. There are so many conversations that happen between shots, and I enjoyed every one of them.”

Despite this bittersweet farewell, Olson is as ready as ever for this new chapter and is looking forward to chasing a new dream as Carly’s mother. Who knows? We may see her tee it up again down the line, but those plans are very far in the future, at the moment, as Olson hasn’t practiced enough to consider competing one last time in a retirement event.

“I want people to know that if I come back and I tee it up, or if I go play a U.S. (Women’s) Open qualifier or whatever, it's for fun,” said Olson. “It's no longer for my career. It's no longer my job. I want it to be a signal that I'm in a different mindset now. I think the biggest thing is I have different dreams. It's not that those dreams have gone away that I wouldn't want to hoist a trophy. But I have bigger dreams that I am prioritizing now.”

And as she celebrates her first Mother’s Day at home with Carly and Grant, thoughts about winning and golf courses and major titles will be the furthest thing from Olson’s mind.

She will instead just revel in the moment with her family, content with life outside of professional golf and excited about everything her future has in store, motherhood and all.
