The best places to go shopping in Orlando
From mega outlet malls to boutique shops to adorable markets, these are the best places to go shopping in Orlando
Even though Orlando is the theme park capital of the world, if you get away from the theme park corridor, you'll find that the city has a lot more to offer. In fact, some of the best shopping and dining in Florida can be found in the City Beautiful.
Options run the gamut from large malls with designer stores like Chanel and Tiffany & Co. to massive outlet complexes that offer discounted theme park merchandise from Walt Disney World as well as luxury fashions. For shopaholics in the city, these malls and outlets are a treasure trove of goods just waiting to be purchased.
Outside of the malls, many of the smaller neighborhoods, such as Winter Park, have adorable shopping streets that are lined with boutiques and some of the city's best restaurants for when you need a break from retail.
No matter what you're looking for or your budget, Orlando has so many places to go shopping. Credit cards at the ready!

Best shopping in Orlando
1. The Mall at Millenia
The Mall at Millenia is known as Orlando’s premier destination for luxury shopping, with more than 150 shops (think Burberry, Coach and Hermès) and restaurants. The mall offers visitors concierge services, including translation services and valet parking. You can also schedule a complimentary personal styling and shopping time with one of the mall’s professional stylists. When it’s time for a bite to eat, consider stopping at one of the onsite restaurants like The Capital Grille or Earls Kitchen + Bar.
2. The Florida Mall
Shoppers looking for a more traditional mall experience will want to check out The Florida Mall . The mall has more than 250 retail, dining and entertainment options, including anchor stores Macy’s, Dillard’s, and Dick’s Sporting Goods. You’ll also find storefronts for Zara, Apple, Tesla and MAC Cosmetics. For kids, the Florida Mall is also an interactive Crayola Experience. And for millennial adults who can't get over the American Girl trends, you can take yours or your child's doll to the American Doll Store to get a full makeover including hair and new outfits. When it's time to take a break, the dining pavilion has more than 20 restaurants.
3. Orlando Vineland Premium Outlets
One of the best luxury outlet malls in the city is the Orlando Vineland Premium outlets. The shopping destination draws in locals and tourists looking for deep discounts at stores like Armani, Prada and Kate Spade. You’ll also find a Disney outlet called Disney Character Warehouse, where you can pick up a much cheaper souvenir than you would find closer to the park. There are more than 160 stores and discounts go up to a whopping 65 percent here. Note that parking at the outlet is limited, so arrive early to get a spot or take a ride share so you don't have to fight for parking.
4. Lake Buena Vista Factory Stores
Just two miles from Walt Disney World, you’ll find the Lake Buena Vista Factory Stores . For money-savvy shoppers, the mall is a gold mine of savings, where you can easily get up to 75 percent off your purchase. Along the open-air sidewalks, storefronts include American Eagle, Calvin Klein, Nike and a Disney Outlet Store. If you’re interested in any of the Orlando soccer or basketball games, you can also purchase tickets and team merchandise at the mall before getting to the stadium downtown.
5. Disney Springs
Just off I-4 is Disney Springs , the dining, shopping and entertainment district of the Walt Disney World Resort. There are a few distinct areas of Disney Springs: the Marketplace, where you’ll find World of Disney; Town Center, where the high-end shops are; the West Side, where you’ll find a larger-than-life M&M’s store; and The Landing, where boutique shops line the waterfront. Disney Springs features more than 100 different shopping experiences and 62 dining locations prepared for when hunger strikes. You can also find things like an AMC movie theater and live entertainment venues throughout Disney Springs so you really can make a whole day of going to the complex.
6. Winter Park
Historic Winter Park has tree-lined streets, beautiful parks and historic homes. The quaint neighborhood is also known for its Park Avenue, which has dozens of retail shops and boutique storefronts to explore. In fact, there are over 140 different shops, cafes and museums all within walking distance of each other in this distinct area of Orlando. Women looking for something unique to add to their wardrobe will want to stop in at Dear Jane or The Impeccable Pig . And don't miss Rifle Paper Co. , a modern stationery and lifestyle shop with adorable designs on everything you can imagine.
7. Orlando International Premium Outlets
If you're looking for a convenient shopping spot close to the theme parks, head to the Orlando International Premium Outlets on International Drive. The outlet mall is the largest in the state, with over 773,000 square feet of storefronts and dining options. With over 180 stores, including Steve Madden, Saks OFF Fifth and Forever 21, you can find a good deal at any price range. When hunger strikes, there's always the incredible smell of Auntie Anne's Pretzels and Cinnabon luring you in.
8. East End Market
One of the city's most talked about shopping spots is East End Market in the Audubon Park neighborhood. Here, you'll find everything from handmade goods and vintage clothes to gourmet snacks. One of the most popular vendors inside the market is Gideon's Bakehouse, which makes nearly one-pound cookies in various delectable flavor combinations. While you can also get the cookies at Disney Springs, the East End Market location doesn't get the ridiculously long lines that the Disney World location does.
9. Plant Street Market
Those looking for the ultimate shopping, dining and entertainment space should look no further than Plant Street Market in the Winter Garden neighborhood of Orlando. The fun market is anchored by Crooked Can Brewing Company, where you can grab a craft beer and walk around the market. The space has 20 vendors under one roof, and everything from a chocolate shop to Ecuadorian empanadas is for sale. Just a short five-minute walk from the market is the Winter Garden Farmers Market, where you can browse various vendors every Saturday.

Visiting Orlando? Put these things on your bucket list!
Growing up in Atlanta, we used to visit Orlando every year during our school breaks. We went often enough that our parents eventually purchased a timeshare there. Visiting now brings back a lot of nostalgic memories, and making this list made me realize how much more there is to explore there.

Tips for First Time Visitors to Orlando FL
- The Best Time to Visit is Spring or Fall. The weather is good and you avoid the summer crowds.
- If you are visiting the main parks (Walt Disney World and Universal), do everything you can to avoid holidays! It becomes ridiculously packed. We had a friend who went the week of Christmas and Magic Kingdom closed because it was at capacity!
- Don’t try to do everything in one day. Esther visited all the Disney parks in one day before as a bucket list item but it did not feel very good. You’re spending most of the time running around between them that it was hard to enjoy any of the parks.
- If you’re visiting between late May to mid-October, then be prepared for a bit of rain every day. The rain doesn’t usually last, but be prepared with a lightweight rain jacket . It’s good to have handy even not during the rainy season.
- It gets hot! Be prepared with water ( these are our favorite travel water bottles . We love this reusable water bottle that folds up when we don’t need it) and sunblock.
- Don’t forget to budget for other extra fees. Park tickets are already pricey, but you also have to pay for parking, food, etc. Parking usually runs roughly $20 per park.
- Dress comfortably and in layers if you’ll be out all day.

The 6 Best Places to Shop in Orlando
From specialty boutiques to discount outlets, Orlando can fulfill every shopper’s desire.

Shop till you drop at these retail hot spots.
The greater Orlando, Florida , area received 68 million visitors in 2016, their wallets brimming with fun money. After dropping bills in the theme parks, the next favorite location for out-of-towners to splurge is in the local shopping areas. Local Orlando experts recommend these retail hot spots.
The Florida Mall

The Florida Mall in Orlando, Florida.
Shoppers craving a retail wonderland will love T he Florida Mall , only a 15-minute drive from the Orlando International Airport. With 250 stores and entertainment choices, from big anchor stores like Macy's and Dillard's to high-end shops such as Coach and Armani Exchange, The Florida Mall draws more than 20 million visitors a year.
[Read: The Best Hotels in Orlando-Walt Disney World .]
The Florida Mall also has shopping diversions for the young at heart. For sugarholics, M&M's World Orlando's self-described "retail-entertainment experience" has a Color Mood analyzer to determine your candy-coated color. Just as colorful but less edible is Crayola Experience, which has live entertainment and interactive activities. "That's a little bit of fun because kids don't love shopping all the time," says Sandra Ferrarese, chief concierge at the Four Seasons Resort Orlando at Walt Disney World Resort .
Ivanhoe Village
For an eclectic shopping environment with a round of drinks, visit historic Ivanhoe Village north of downtown Orlando. Phillip Haddock II, lead concierge and ambassador of the Grand Bohemian Hotel Orlando, Autograph Collection , suggests stopping by the "little antique shops where you can have a glass of wine or four-course meal," such as The Imperial at Washburn Imports .
Once known as Antique Row, the art deco area has expanded and modernized, but there are still plenty of antiquing options. Try 1618 Something Different to decorate your domicile like the set from the 1970s film "A Clockwork Orange." Or pick up vintage vinyl at Rock & Roll Heaven . For a little more pop, visit Boom-Art by Rogers Studio, where the paintings and decor push the color envelope.
The Mall at Millenia
Courtesy The Mall at Millenia
The Mall at Millenia in Orlando, Florida.
The Mall at Millenia might be irksome to spelling bee competitors (where is that second N?), but luxury shopping aficionados adore it. Brand-name stores such as Gucci, Chanel and Prada are de rigueur among the 150 shops and restaurants. And its central location between downtown Orlando and Universal Orlando Resort makes it very convenient.
Even if you aren't a fashionista, The Mall at Millenia has aesthetic appeal. "It's a beautiful structure that is worth a walk around even if you don't want to shell out lots of money," says Richard Tribou, travel editor for the Orlando Sentinel. Magnificent glass ceilings, lovely fountains and splendid artwork complement the stunning architecture.

Orlando International Premium Outlets and Orlando Vineland Premium Outlets
Orlando's outlet twins, the Orlando International Premium Outlets and the Orlando Vineland Premium Outlets are the darlings of discount shoppers. Strategically located within 10 minutes of Universal Orlando Resort and Walt Disney World Resort , respectively, these retail meccas offer hundreds of name-brand shops, such as Adidas and Calvin Klein, with discounts of 25 to 65 percent.
"A lot of the international travelers are looking for those outlets, and both premium outlet malls are massive in size," says Jeff Silsbee, director of guest services at the Waldorf Astoria Orlando . For deal hunters, the premium outlets are the way to go.
Disney Springs
Courtesy of Matt Stroshane
Disney Springs in Orlando, Florida.
Disney Springs is a retail fairyland. Packed with specialty boutiques and high-end fashion, the 110 stores make for a full day of window-shopping and credit card swiping. The open-market atmosphere attracts visitors of all interests. Lourdes Gee, concierge at the Villas of Grand Cypress, Orlando , says when she refers people to Disney Springs, "they come back and thank me because it is an experience that's completely different."
Kids will flip for the fun shops. Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique – Disney Springs offers "magical makeovers for young princesses and knights," the Lego Store sports giant Lego sculptures and a Lego construction area, and the Star Wars Galactic Outpost is a fan's shopping dream.
[Read: The Best Times to Visit Orlando-Walt Disney World .]
But be ready for crowds. "It's a great place for people-watching," Tribou says. "I mean droves and droves of people because it can get crowded." If you don't like rubbing elbows with millions of other visitors, consider visiting early in the day and opt out during the holiday season.
Park Avenue in Winter Park
For an authentic local shopping experience, Winter Park's Park Avenue is reminiscent of a European boulevard, mixing history, art and specialty stores under an oak canopy. You may even have an occasional star sighting, such as local homeowners Sir Paul McCartney or Carrot Top.
"There are so many different areas of Winter Park that come together into one beautiful example of retail therapy at its finest," says Patricia Clifton, chief concierge at T he Alfond Inn . The area provides unparalleled options for women's and men's apparel, including tailored finery from John Craig, colorful shifts from Lilly Pulitzer and urban chic at Forema Boutique.
Art collectors rejoice. Besides the many nearby museums, Grace Gallery Fine Art has a splendid collection by top international artists, and Scott Laurent Collection has an array of contemporary art and home decor. And if you time your visit right, hundreds of artists exhibit and sell their art at the Winter Park Sidewalk Art Festival in mid-March and the Autumn Art Festival in mid-October.

Orlando Shopping: A Guide to the Best Malls, Outlets, Markets and Boutiques
Orlando isn’t just the theme park capital of the world. It’s also a shopper’s paradise. Orlando shopping means everything from modern, upscale malls to bargain-heavy outlets to small town, local boutiques. The major theme parks even have their own shopping centers.
If you’re worried about how you’ll fit all your finds into your luggage before you head home, don’t be. Many of Orlando’s hotels and resorts will ship your packages home for a fee. Check with your hotel’s business center or concierge desk for details.
Orlando Shopping Malls
The Orlando area has quite a few malls, but some are better than others. The Florida Mall and The Mall at Millenia are the top two – all others pale in comparison. Both have lots of upscale options, plus all the typical stores you expect in a mall.
The Florida Mall
15 minutes west of Orlando International Airport sits Central Florida’s shopping mecca. The Florida Mall is for real THE Florida Mall – it’s the largest shopping center in Orlando, with nearly 2 million square feet of retail heaven.
This mall is so huge it has its own 510-room hotel. Perfect for major shopaholics in need of a serious fix first thing in the morning. If you’re staying elsewhere, the mall offers valet parking, so you don’t have to walk across 38 miles of baking blacktop while melting under the hot Florida sun.
There are over 250 stores, everything from upscale designer brands to basic fashion chains to exclusive stores like M&M’s World, which has a cool Color Mood Analyzer that tells you which color M&M best fits your personality. Just don’t get yellow. If your color mood is yellow, it means you’re a freak of nature. Or you have a sunny personality. One of those. There’s also electronics stores, health and beauty wonderlands, toy stores and more.
The Florida Mall gets about 20 million (MILLION!) visitors per year, so expect crowds, especially on weekends and during the holidays. Makes for some great people-watching.
Stores include:
- Macy’s
- Dillard’s
- Armani Exchange
- Michael Kors
- Crayola Experience

The Mall at Millenia
No, that’s not a typo. The name was intentionally misspelled by the developers, supposedly for trademarking purposes. Or maybe because they didn’t realize their mistake until it was too late. Or because the name “Mall of the Millenium” was already take by the great 90s cartoon, Daria.
No matter where the name came from, The Mall at Millenia is usually called The Millenia Mall or Millenia or simply the best upscale Orlando shopping mall in existence. Located off I-4, right in between downtown Orlando and Disney World, the mall is popular with international visitors because of its luxury brands and stunning architectural style.
Although Millenia is about half the size of The Florida Mall, its spacious walkways, impressive glass roof, gorgeous fountains and stunning artwork make it seem more modern and high-end than most malls. They offer complimentary Wifi, valet parking and currency exchange services along with their 150 high-end shops and restaurants. There’s also a post office in the mall, so you can ship your goodies directly to your house if you don’t want to stuff them into your suitcase.

Orlando Outlet Malls
Orlando has three major outlet malls, two of which are Premium Outlets (that’s the brand name) – International and Vineland. They’re pretty similar, but International has slightly more stores, while Vineland has more parking. If you go during peak shopping hours, that extra parking will be sorely needed. Busy days see cars parked all over the side of the road.
Orlando shopping pro tip: Go onto the outlet’s website and join the VIP Shopper Club. It’s totally free and will give you access to a bunch of bonus discounts. You can view and redeem all the offers using your phone, so it’s a no-hassle way to save some extra cash.
Orlando International Premium Outlets
Just down the road from Universal Studios, at the top of International Drive, lies one of the greatest bargain shopping centers in the ENTIRE WORLD. Or at least in the northern International Drive area. The outdoor shopping center contains 180 name-brand designer stores with discounts of up to 50%.
Although it’s an outdoor mall, most of the walkways are covered, so it’s not toooo hot. That being said, it’s outside in Florida. So don’t expect to look like a fresh spring daisy if you’re spending an August afternoon here. Read this if you don’t want to end up looking like a goblin.

Orlando Vineland Premium Outlets
Just across I-4 from Disney World lies this Mediterranean-style shopping village. With 160 stores, Vineland is a little smaller than International, but the variety of designer brands is nearly identical.
Since it’s a little further from downtown, this outlet mall typically sees smaller crowds. But that certainly doesn’t mean it’s not busy. This outlet is more popular with locals, so there are plenty of shoppers looking for bargains.
- Tommy Bahama
Lake Buena Vista Factory Stores
Located just a few miles south of Vineland, Lake Buena Vista Factory Stores has about 50 designer shops in a village-style atmosphere. Although it’s smaller than other Orlando outlet malls, the discounts are often bigger.
This is the only outlet mall that offers storefront parking, so you don’t have to walk a thousand miles from the parking lot or garage through a meandering maze of bargains if you’re just after certain stores. But the really cool thing about this outlet mall is that they offer a free shuttle to and from many of the area’s hotels. No worries about parking then.
- Eddie Bauer
Orlando Theme Park Shopping
Those theme parks are like tiny worlds unto themselves. So of course they have their own shopping districts – you never have to leave the park!
Disney Springs
No article about Orlando would be complete without mentioning Disney World, right? Even if you aren’t visiting the theme park, you can go shopping at Disney Springs. Yep, you can indulge in some retail therapy at Disney without buying a ticket. Parking and entry are both free.
Disney Springs has over 100 stores and restaurants, all in a swanky, open-air complex spanning four shopping, dining and entertainment areas. It’s designed to look like a coastal town, which is nice when you’re in a landlocked city in a state known for its beaches (check out the closest beaches to Orlando here ). The stores run the gamut from high-end brands to Disney-themed shops to specialty boutiques. It being Disney, there are plenty of fun things for kids to do – like getting magical makeovers at Bibbidi Bobbidi or building cool stuff at The Lego Store.
- Anthropologie
- Free People
Universal CityWalk
Just like with Disney Springs, Universal CityWalk doesn’t require you to have a ticket to get in. But parking isn’t free and there’s just two mega huge parking garages for CityWalk and the theme parks. So your best bet if you don’t feel like parking 38 miles away and then trying to remember your car’s section and number (Was it Spiderman 252? Or Cat in the Hat 252?) is to get dropped off by an Uber.
There’s only a handful of stores, but there are plenty of restaurants and entertainment options like Blue Man Group and miniature golf. If you enjoy the ancient art of karaoke, you can belt your heart out with your very own live band, backup singers and dancers at Rising Star.
- Quiet Flight Surf Shop
- Universal Studios Store
- Rock Shop (Hard Rock Cafe souvenirs)

Orlando Area Markets
Orlando has some great markets offering everything from food to local art and handmade gifts. Check out these markets if you’re looking for unique treasures.
East End Market
If you’re looking for something less national chain store and more local artisan market, this is the place. Just northeast of downtown, it’s a two-story space featuring dozens of merchants. The focus is on food, but there’s also handmade gifts, home décor and more.
- Freehand Goods
- Porch Therapy
- Houndstooth Sauce Company

Although it’s not actually in Orlando and should maybe be in the “Shopping Near Orlando” section, I’m keeping Renningers here because it’s a flea market. And dear, sweet, sweet lord, it’s an amazing one. It’s 117 acres (massive!) of antiques, clothing, produce and random odditites. Literally hundreds and hundreds of vendors.
They often hold events on-site, like car shows, swap meets and holiday shows. There’s truly something for everyone.
The antique store and consignment center are open Friday – Sunday, but the flea market is only open on Saturday and Sunday. Get there early if you want to find a decent parking spot. Parking is free.

Shopping Near Orlando
Although there’s plenty of shopping in Orlando itself, there’s also some amazing shopping locations just outside the city.
About 40 minutes northwest of Orlando, you’ll find the picturesque town of Mount Dora. Once known as the “Antiques Capital” of Florida, it’s now home to art galleries, boutiques and other unique stores, in addition to the antique malls. Check out the local art at Every Nook + Cranny and unique gifts at Under the Cherry Blossoms.
There’s plenty of on-street parking in the area, and there’s also a parking garage at the corner of Donnelly Street and Charles Avenue. Most of the stores are near the town center, between 3rd and 7th Avenue. There are also lots of restaurants and parks in the area, so grab a bit to eat and take a walk along beautiful Lake Dora.

Park Avenue in Winter Park
Just northeast of downtown Orlando is the charming city of Winter Park. Park Avenue is the main thoroughfare, a picturesque tree-lined brick street full of boutiques, restaurants and more. It’s easy to explore on foot, with over 140 locally owned shops and name brand stores. You’ll find everything from clothing and accessories to books, art and home décor.
It can get crowded, so consider visiting earlier in the day. Or just enjoy the people-watching at Central Park, a leafy promenade just across the street with towering oaks, beautiful fountains and a gorgeous rose garden. There are several free parking lots in the area and plenty of on-street parking.

Best Shopping Malls and Centers in Orlando
LAST UPDATED BY Michelle Spitzer December 15, 2019
Shopping is not a spectator sport, but with Orlando ’s tourist throngs coming out en masse to sack the city from outlet mall to retail mega-center, it can sometimes be a contact sport. The cool part? Venues such as the Buena Vista Factory Stores and Orlando Premium Outlet on International Drive are often microcosms of sorts – modern day bazaars where travelers from distant lands, speaking different languages come to buy the things they need. Of course, True Religion jeans and Nike cross-trainers – for most of us, anyway – are not necessities, but they sure are fun to score on deep discount. More traditional malls, the indoor, climate-controlled variety, are in no short supply, either. Luxury shoppers will find themselves easily sated at the beautiful Mall at Millenia while Altamonte Mall – and it’s lovely adjacent oasis of Cranes Roost Park – give divided parties two different ways to spend the day. They can meet up for dinner and a movie later. Mixed-use venues continue to proliferate. Winter Park Village is among the prettiest. Its streets, benches, flower pots and fountain create a village-like atmosphere. So much so that many choose to live in the on-site apartments and enjoy the dining and entertainment venues in their tiny “town.”
Waterford Lakes Town Center
Waterford Lakes is relatively sprawling for a walkable, outdoor shopping center, and it could use some shade, but the "camouflaged" rock speakers piping in music as you stroll its sidewalks are a nice touch. The concentration of shopping, however â" big-box operations like BestBuy, Bed, Bath & Beyond and Super Target, mall-staples that include Victoria's Secret and Bath & Body Works, chain restaurants such as Five Guys Burgers, California Pizza Kitchen and Miller's Ale House, and even small, specialty food shops like Sweet! By Good Golly Miss Holly â" makes it a natural one-stop venue for area residents looking to knock a few errands off at once and grab something to eat in the process. Interestingly, Waterford Lakes also hosts quite a few events, farmer's markets, carnivals and festivals, which can make your regular weekend visit into a more pleasant diversion than expected.
Recommended for Shopping Malls and Centers because : Waterford Lakeshas everything from Super Target and Bed Bath & Beyond to a place to grab a wine flight (Cooper's Hawk)!
A.D.'s expert tip : The Regal Waterford Lakes Stadium 20 also has an IMAX theater. Good to know if there's a particular feature out that lends itself to the medium.

The Florida Mall
The Florida Mall is an international, family-friendly shopping destination that welcomes more than 20 million visitors per year. Spanning nearly 1.8 million square feet, shoppers enjoy more than 250 stores and restaurants, including many exclusive to Central Florida, such as a Zara flagship store, American Girl, The Disney Store, and one of only five M&M's World stores worldwide. The Florida Mall also features Dillard's, JCPenney, and Macys, as well as fashion-forward concepts such as Michael Kors, H&M, A/X Armani Exchange and XXI Forever. A new Dining Pavilion will join the fray in the summer of 2015 and is projected to feature more health-conscious options. The new Crayola Experience will be opening around the same time.
Recommended for Shopping Malls and Centers because : Between the shopping, dining and the on-site, 511-room Florida Hotel & Conference Center, the Florida Mall is just one glass dome away from biosphere.
A.D.'s expert tip : Got kids? The Crayola Experience offers up a host of fun activities all inspired by these colorful instruments of creativity!

Orlando International Premium Outlets
There are 16 places to eat amid the 700,000 square feet of shopping space at this Orlando Premium Outlets installment, but if we were you, we'd run our engines on coffee and Pinkberry and save room to discuss the day's spoils at one of I-Drive's zillion options for eats and drinks. This outlet center (perhaps better be described as a campus) is comprised of two larger malls and four strip centers. As you navigate, you'll happen upon familiar names including Saks Fifth Avenue Off 5th, Juicy Couture, Neiman Marcus Last Call, Brooks Brothers, Calvin Klein, Chico's and many, many ... many more.
Recommended for Shopping Malls and Centers because : OPO-I Drive has ranked on several ranked lists of outlet malls in the United States," often within the top 10, five or higher. Not bad.
A.D.'s expert tip : Post-season deals often abound, making this an excellent place for shoppers who hail from colder climes with longer winters or locals planning a cool-weather trip.

Pointe Orlando
With venues that include the Cuba Libre Restaurant & Rum Bar, Marlow's Tavern, Ra Sushi, the upscale Oceanaire Seafood Room and Taverna Opa, most locals think of Pointe Orlando as a dining and entertainment venue but make no mistake: there's quality shopping a'plenty. Clothing (Armani Exchange, Chico's, Hollister, Victoria's Secret, Tommy Bahama), accessories (Tharoo & Co., Charming Charlie's) and other interesting venues. But if you want to just chuck it all for popcorn, soda and a movie at its Regal 20 + IMAX theater, you can beat the oft-oppressive Florida heat and likely save money at the same time.
Recommended for Shopping Malls and Centers because : A location convenient to the Orange County Convention Center make Pointe Orlando a no-brainer for business travelers looking for downtime without a long haul.
A.D.'s expert tip : If you decide to make Pointe Orlando your retail therapy destination and have options, make it an afternoon jaunt so you can hit one of it's many drinking, dining and/or dancing establishments to soothe your weary swiping hand.

Altamonte Mall
Altamonte Mall sits just 10 miles from the center of downtown Orlando and practically on top of I-4, a prime location allowing for extensive shopping, dining or even a leisurely stroll around the lake in adjacent Cranes Roost Park, where many events and festivals are held. Altamonte's anchor stores include reliable names like Sears and Macy's, while in its well appointed confines you'll discover some diverse gems. For women, venues like White House Black Market showcase an impressive collection of clothing and accessories while Wet Seal, Justice, Hollister and Gymboree are among those covering the young ones in your traveling party. Others, like H&M, appeal to both male and female shoppers with aplomb. Food court options notwithstanding, shoppers can imbibe and dine just outside at venues including the Ale House and Seasons 52.
Recommended for Shopping Malls and Centers because : Just a stone's throw from the delights of downtown or nearby Winter Park, Altamonte Mall makes a great day-to-night option if you've got staying power.
A.D.'s expert tip : Altamonte Mall has great stores and myriad dining options in and out, but parents especially appreciate the kids' play area with cushioned banquette seating around its perimeter and a hand-sanitizing station. Sometimes it's the little things....

Lake Buena Vista Factory Stores
With a multitude of well known stores from Carter's to Converse, Gap to Guess, and Izod to Old Navy, the Lake Buena Vista Factory Shops is a favorite for local outlet shoppers as well as tourists â" for their ample parking as much as their retail offerings. Merchandise here is factory direct with savings of up to 75 percent off every day. For those with wee ones in tow, an open-air playground gives the kids a place to blow off steam between their parents' bouts of spending. Additionally, Lake Buena Vista Factory Shops provides free shuttle service from some 60 Orlando and Kissimmee area hotels.
Recommended for Shopping Malls and Centers because : Lake Buena Vista Shops' location near the parks, it's just four miles from SeaWorld, for example, make a day of shopping-and-Shamu entirely doable.
A.D.'s expert tip : Follow them on Twitter or like them on Facebook for extra savings. Coupons and other discounts are posted regularly. You can find them in those free local travel books around town, as well.

Winter Park Village
Winter Park Village enjoys a prime location, just minutes from the city's verdant Central Park and long-lauded Park Avenue. Dining comes in all forms from easy-breezy, inexpensive options like Pizzeria Valdiano and Menchie's Frozen Yogurt to familiar faces including P.F. Chang's and the Cheesecake Factory. Those looking for a more up-market experience might opt for a hefty rib-eye at Ruth's Chris Steak House. Moviegoers will enjoy the Regal Winter Park Village Stadium 20, which offers reduced-price children's matinees in the summer (check their website for details). Winter Park Village is pedestrian-friendly. Benches, streetlights and even "on-street" parallel parking give it a Main Street-style appearance, one that might inspire you to enjoy that fro-yo outside while listening to the gurgle of the fountain.
Recommended for Shopping Malls and Centers because : Mixed-use malls don't always get it right. Winter Park Village does such a nice job you'll wish it were a little bigger.
A.D.'s expert tip : Catching a movie? Grab your tickets early online or at the kiosk and grab an al fresco cocktail or two at Taps.

Orlando Vineland Premium Outlets
Doubt the awesome power of the outlet mall, do you? You'd have to hit 30 separate boutiques just to get through the roster of shoe stores at Orlando Premium Outlets' Vineland Ave. location. I hope you had a good breakfast. Indeed power-shoppers, both local and imported, find impressive savings on preferred brands at this, one of two such centers in town. From Burberry to Barney's New York, Coach to Cole Haan, Talbots for the preppies, True Religion for the trendies and Armani for the fashionistas (not to mention more than a hundred other venues), if your plastic doesn't melt, you could easily spend a day â" and a reasonable percentage of your kids' college tuition savings â" perusing its breezy passageways.
Recommended for Shopping Malls and Centers because : OPO offers luxury for less. $200 for a pair of hot shoes is doubtless pricey; you'll feel better when you see them retail for $695.
A.D.'s expert tip : Visiting from abroad? No worries. Orlando Premium Outlets - Vineland Ave. has an on-site currency exchange. Note that parking can be a challenge if you don't come early.

Mall at Millenia
The Mall at Millenia really is something else. Glittering, soaring, rife with luxury shopping that boasts the likes of Chanel and Emporio Armani, Tag Heuer and Rolex, Jimmy Choo and Cartier alongside familiar department stores like Macy's and Bloomingdale's and mall staples such as Abercrombie & Fitch, Banana Republic and Ann Taylor, this is where the well-heeled go to spend en masse and the rest of the world goes to splurge â" or just ogle, dream and enjoy a latte from Starbucks. With its tony ambiance, tonier brand names and a veritable Milky Way of satellite shopping venues and eateries, it's a favorite of locals and a must-do for the most mall-inclined of visitors.
Recommended for Shopping Malls and Centers because : Does the Mall of America have a Prada or Tiffany & Co.? Mall at Millenia is upscale and luxurious and yet, it's still a mall.
A.D.'s expert tip : Is your party divided between theme parking and luxury shopping? Universal Orlando is less than five miles from this mall. Divide, conquer, then meet up at CityWalk for drinks and dinner.

Walt Disney World Resort is Florida's most popular family attraction and has been ever since the Magic Kingdom opened its gates to the public back in 1971. Since then, the resort, usually referred to by guests simply as Disney World, has grown tremendously. It encompasses four theme parks, two water parks, a shopping and entertainment district, a sports complex, an extensive boardwalk, as well as numerous Disney-owned accommodation options.
Of its four parks, Magic Kingdom Park is the most iconic, with Cinderella's Castle standing at the center of the park. If you've not been to Magic Kingdom for a few years, you may want to make it a priority next time you're in Orlando. In addition to major refurbishments and upgrades to many of the classic children's favorites, a number of newer rides aimed at older audiences have been added, including the state-of-the-art TRON Lightcycle / Run, one of the world's fastest roller coasters.
Epcot's Spaceship Earth geosphere stands at the entrance of this exposition-style park, which includes Future World and the World Showcase, an around-the-world experience that gives visitors a chance to peek at different cultures. While traveling the world and visiting the 11 pavilions dedicated to each participating country, you can meet popular international Disney characters like Mulan, Belle, and Mary Poppins.
Disney's Hollywood Studios park gives you the opportunity to see into the world of movie magic, with exciting stunt and special effect shows. It's here you can also enjoy thrilling new film-themed rides like the Star Wars -inspired Star Tours and Rise of the Resistance, and for younger audiences, the epic Toy Story Mania.
The Kilimanjaro Safari experience at Animal Kingdom is an amazing way to see African animals run free in a natural habitat, and the massive Tree of Life makes the perfect backdrop for family photos. Also worth a ride and the sometimes lengthy line-ups, Expedition Everest is an exciting roller coaster ride that even ends with a Yeti encounter.
Fireworks and parades are nightly events throughout the parks, and there are special events held at each, year-round. Although lines for the top attractions and rides can be notoriously long, there are options available that can help you get the most out of your visit.
Disney's many resort hotel complexes make the experience complete and offer a full range of themed destinations, from budget accommodations like Disney's Pop Century Resort to the Port Orleans Resort ( Riverside or French Quarter ) to the shopping, restaurant, theater, and music experiences awaiting you in Disney Springs. Another big plus is that beginning in 2024 guests at Disney resorts will once again benefit from perks such as early entry, extended evening hours, and those excellent Disney Dining Plans. Yeah!
Authors' Tips: If you're planning on visiting multiple parks, allow at least a day for each. A little advance planning can go a long way, too, so be sure to arrive with a short list of must-ride attractions for each using the handy free park maps to plot an itinerary. And make use of Disney's Genie Service , a handy online itinerary tool, to help plan your day, including providing faster access to your must-do rides. Purchasing multi-day, all-park passes are another good idea and offer significant savings the longer you plan on staying.
Consisting of three individual parks, Universal Orlando Resort has in recent years certainly upped its game as a challenger to Disney's theme park supremacy. The addition of new rides and attractions within each of the parks – Universal Studios Florida, Islands of Adventure, and Volcano Bay – has certainly helped, and these days you can easily spend as much time exploring Universal's rich world of characters as you can Disney's.
Universal Studios Florida is the original and is a combination theme park and working studio that was designed in consultation with Steven Spielberg to give visitors an interactive experience with the filmmaking industry. While it's popular with all ages, its numerous thrilling roller coasters and wet rides ensure its reputation as one of the best places to visit in Florida for those traveling with teenage kids.
Universal's Islands of Adventure has eight uniquely themed zones that are each dedicated to a film franchise. These include Seuss Island, The Lost Continent, Toon Lagoon, Jurassic Park, Skull Island: Reign of Kong, and Marvel Superhero Island.
The Wizarding World of Harry Potter is the park's newest addition. This wonderful area of the park remains true to the magical world created by J.K. Rowling, complete with Hogwarts Castle, the Hogwarts Express, and even Hogsmeade when you're thirsty. Diagon Alley extends into the Universal Studios park, where visitors can join Harry's escape from Gringotts bank.
If you're keen on taking as many rides as possible in the shortest time, consider investing in the Express Pass. This handy add-on allows you to zip to the front of the line once per attraction.
Universal Studios also has regular events and celebrations suitable for the whole family. City Walk , also part of Universal, is a huge entertainment complex featuring dining, shopping, movies, and other entertainment options throughout the day and night.
Location: Universal Blvd, Orlando, Florida
SeaWorld Orlando is known for its massive aquariums, dolphin and whale shows, touch pools, and many exciting rides. Although guests may no longer feed the dolphins, you are still able to reach into the interactive Dolphin Cove pool and pet these beautiful, intelligent creatures. Also fun are the Dolphin Encounters where you get to spend time with a trainer as they interact with the creatures in their care.
Those who want to get even more hands-on can sign up for an up-close tour with the dolphins, killer whales, sea lions, penguins, or sharks. Other special tours include a behind-the-scenes look at SeaWorld operations and tours of the manatee rehabilitation center or the dolphin nursery, where the park's youngest dolphins are cared for.
In addition to the plethora of sea life, the park has many exciting rides for all ages, including several water rides that are refreshing on a hot Florida day. The park's most popular thrill rides are its roller coasters, including the Mako hyper coaster, the Manta Coaster, and the Kraken Virtual Reality Coaster.
If you find yourself in the park on a Friday, Saturday, or Sunday night you'll be treated to an impressive fireworks display. Special fireworks displays are also presented on holidays including July 4.
Address: 7007 SeaWorld Drive, Orlando, Florida
Located next to SeaWorld Orlando, Discovery Cove is one of the area's premier attractions. Visitors to the park can interact with ocean life in a more natural setting, including snorkeling along a coral reef, exploring underwater with a full dive helmet, wading among stingrays, and swimming with the dolphins.
There's also a large aviary on-site where you can interact with exotic birds and a relaxing lazy river that you can explore and snorkel in. There's also a tropical swim area where you can splash in the pools or relax in a lounge chair on the sandy beach.
Available to purchase are all-inclusive or one-day passes. Due to the extreme popularity of Discovery Cove, it's best to book a reservation well in advance during peak season.
Address: 6000 Discovery Cove Way, Orlando, Florida
Typhoon Lagoon is Disney's biggest and most popular water park . Inside, you'll find a wide variety of attractions for all ages, including kiddie rides and swimming and splash areas, like Ketchakiddee Creek, a play area designed for young children.
Surfers will love the huge wave pool, and those who want to give it a shot can sign up for surfing lessons. Other attractions include a peaceful ride along the lazy river, whitewater adventures on Miss Adventure Falls, and thrill rides like Humunga Kowabunga. In addition, multiple waterslides are located throughout the park for various age levels. There's even a sandy beach where kids can play while parents relax.
Author's Tip : If there's a little wiggle room in your waterpark budget, consider stepping your Disney experience up a notch with a beach hut rental. These family-sized shady "shacks" come with cushioned seating, a fan, a cooler with unlimited water, and even attendant service. It's even better if combined with the special after-hours ticket which allows a limited number of park guests to linger for up to three hours after everyone else leaves. Sure, these extras are a little pricey, but they certainly up the fun quotient.
Address: 1145 East Buena Vista Boulevard, Orlando, Florida
Opened with great fanfare in 2017, Volcano Bay Water Theme Park is Universal's newest attraction and replaced the original Wet 'n Wild. Like the other area theme parks, there are play-and-stay options available for those who want to truly immerse themselves in the experience.
Krakatau sits at the center of the park and houses the popular Aqua Coaster thrill ride. Waturi Beach faces the volcano, where guests can relax on a sandy beach and swim in the large wave pool. Here, guests can use one of the provided lounge chairs, upgrade to padded loungers, or even rent a cabana.
Exciting park attractions include huge waterslides, tubing, and thrill rides. There are also plenty of areas dedicated to younger guests, including a zero-entry wading area.
As an added convenience, the park has introduced the TapuTapu, a waterproof wearable device that allows guests to electronically get "in line" for one ride at a time, and then spend their wait time relaxing instead of standing in the hot sun in a line. The device is free and given to each guest upon arrival.
If you download the app prior to your visit and enter your credit card information, you can also charge food and beverage purchases with just a tap of your TapuTapu.
Address: 6000 Universal Blvd, Orlando, Florida
About an hour's drive away, the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex is one of the most popular day trips from Orlando . A visit here allows you the unique opportunity to see one of NASA's best-known operations centers.
Be sure to visit the Heroes and Legends exhibits, which introduce you to the lives and careers of those who made the space program possible, from engineers to early space explorers. This also includes the U.S. Astronaut Hall of Fame, as well as the Rocket Garden, where you can see the rockets from some of NASA's most famous flights, including the Apollo and Gemini programs.
One of the major highlights is the exhibit showcasing the original Space Shuttle Atlantis . Standing mere feet away from this iconic machine and seeing the scars of flight and reentry is spellbinding. Over 60 exhibits provide information about the space shuttle and the program overall.
Other exhibits include lunar exploration, mock astronaut training, the shuttle launch experience, and an IMAX theater. If you time your visit right, you can even watch launches from the Cape Canaveral Air Force Station.
Since it opened in 1949, Gatorland has welcomed millions of guests through its famous gates to see the thousands of alligators, crocodiles, and other reptiles on display, some of which perform in daily shows and demonstrations. The "Alligator Jumparoo" show and "Gator Wrestlin'" are two examples. The facility is also home to rare white leucistic alligators.
A small train follows a set route around the grounds, and an observation tower provides views of the breeding marsh and surrounding region. One of the more recent additions to Gatorland are two ziplines: the Screamin' Gator and the Gator Gauntlet. The courses run above the alligator and crocodile pens.
For the less adventurous there is still the self-guided swamp walk, and on hot days, kids will enjoy the Gator Gully Splash Park. And before you leave, be sure to grab a selfie posing in the jaws of the park's original giant alligator at the attraction's entrance.
Address: 14501 South Orange Blossom Trail, Orlando, Florida
While paying a visit to Disney Springs (formerly Downtown Disney before a major rebrand and facelift) is undoubtedly one of the top free things to do in Orlando, it can easily turn out to be an expensive diversion from the theme parks. Why? Well, while this exquisitely designed entertainment, dining, and shopping district is free to wander, the temptations to dive into the purse or reach for the wallet are plentiful.
For shoppers, the urge to splurge will strike in the Town Center area. Looking like it could be located on the Mediterranean, this tree-lined area of Disney Springs is home to numerous chic fashion stores from leading brands such as Anthropologie, Coach, and Johnson & Murphy. All told, there are more than 103 places to shop (and spend) here.
Traveling with kids? Then you'll no doubt take them shopping in the iconic World of Disney store, just one of the numerous Disney-specific shopping destinations here. Add to this a huge LEGO store, Build-a-Dino, and the ultimate little princess outlet, the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, and leaving Disney Springs empty-handed is all but impossible.
Then there's the dining and entertainment. Disney Springs boasts 64 dining options from fast food to fine dining, and 25 unique attractions including the incredible Vintage Amphicars Cirque du Soleil, which has a permanent home here. So sure, you can visit for free, including the parking... but will you want to?
Authors' Tip : If you're planning on a sit-down meal in Disney Springs, you better make sure to have made a reservation. While walk-ins are occasionally available, you'll likely not otherwise get a meal when you want it, where you want. Disney Springs offers an excellent online reservation system that's easy to use and saves a lot of disappointment.
Address: 1486 Buena Vista Drive, Lake Buena Vista, Florida
Situated in the heart of downtown Orlando, Lake Eola Park is a must-do for those wanting to experience just a little of what this dynamic city has to offer outside of the theme parks. Originating as a sinkhole before being landscaped and turned into a public park in 1888, it's a surprisingly large green space, with plenty of fun things to do.
A highlight of a visit is strolling along the nearly mile-long paved pathway that circles the lake. Along the way, you'll pass families enjoying rides in swan-shaped paddleboats, as well as the real swans who live here, and the Walt Disney Amphitheater, with its regular roster of live music performances. Bring a picnic, or grab a take-out from one of the restaurants and enjoy a great lunch al fresco.
Authors' Tip: Getting to Eola Park from the Orlando theme parks requires traveling along the often congested Interstate 4. It's the only direct route for the theme parks in the south of Orlando and travels right through the city center. If you've got time-sensitive events to attend at places like the Amway Center , a dinner in Winter Park – or even the excellent Orlando Farmer's Market , held each Sunday from 10 am to 3 pm – plan accordingly and allow plenty of additional time, just in case!
Address: 512 East Washington Street, Orlando, Florida
The Orlando Science Center showcases several branches of science, from mechanics to biology and applied technology. Among a variety of themed exhibits, the top favorite is often "Kids Town." Kids Town is available to children under 48 inches tall and is full of interesting and stimulating interactive exhibits.
Also worth experiencing are the laser shows and large-format films at the Dr. Phillips CineDome. In addition to the exhibit galleries, the Science Center presents touring exhibits from across the country.
It's worth noting that this world-class attraction is located in Orlando's superb Loch Haven Cultural Park , a lovely green space that's a delight to explore on foot. Established as a cultural hub for the city, it features numerous walking trails that connect other major attractions, including the Orlando Museum of Art, Orlando Repertory Theater, Orlando Fire Museum, and the Mennello Museum of American Art and Sculpture Garden.
Address: 777 East Princeton Street, Orlando, Florida
If you are feeling a bit overstimulated with all the noise, crowds, and action at the theme parks and need a dose of nature, head a short distance from downtown Orlando to the beautiful Harry P. Leu Gardens . Spread out over 50 acres are ponds, fountains, and gardens, with walking trails winding their way through the various areas.
Highlights of your visit should include a stroll under moss-draped camphor and elm trees and a visit to the extensive rose gardens. Also, don't miss the large collection of palms and bromeliads.
Address: 1920 N Forest Ave, Orlando, Florida
Spread across 20 acres on International Drive, ICON Park is an interesting mix of open-air shopping, dining, and entertainment, and includes a number of great attractions suitable for all ages. Anchoring the site is the huge Wheel at ICON Park , a 400-foot-tall Ferris wheel that offers incredible views over the area. It's especially impressive at night when the wheel is illuminated by 64,000 lights that regularly change color.
Other fun things to do here include visiting the SEA LIFE Orlando Aquarium and Madame Tussauds Orlando waxworks, as well as riding the Orlando StarFlyer , billed as the tallest swing ride in the world . For toddlers, a ride around the park on the Pearl Express is a must, while teens will love the on-site arcade.
Address: 8375 International Drive, Orlando, Florida
A visit to the city of Winter Park, an easy 15-minute drive from downtown Orlando, is definitely worthwhile. Not only is this leafy district home to some of the best luxury shopping along ritzy Park Avenue and in Winter Park Village , but it's also home to a number of first-rate dining opportunities (Boca Winter Park is a must for fine dining).
For culture vultures, you're spoiled for choice. Winter Park is home to a number of world-class art galleries, most notably the Charles Hosmer Morse Museum of American Art, which focuses on the unique glass art of Louis Comfort Tiffany; the Cornell Fine Arts Museum, which features both contemporary and antique artworks; and the delightful Albin Polasek Museum & Sculpture Gardens.
The city also added a state-of-the-art events center in 2021, a stunningly designed structure that also houses the city library. Add to this a number of excellent museums such as the Casa Feliz Historic Home, along with beautiful parks and gardens (Mead Botanical Garden is a must-visit), and you can easily spend the best part of a day exploring Winter Park.
Although master-planned by Disney and located just a short distance from Walt Disney World, the community of Celebration has a very distinct character. Now completely independent of the company that started it all in 1996, Celebration makes for a fun diversion from the surrounding theme parks and hustle-bustle.
Start your journey by parking as close as you can get to the Town Center district; there's plenty of street parking in and around this commercial hub. Explore the stores here, then grab a tasty treat from Fortuna Bakery & Café or Le Macaron, then score a lakeside seat, kick back, and relax. It's a great place to get in some people-watching, too, as well as spotting the occasional (small!) alligator.
Refreshed, head for the pathways that circle and connect the various neighborhoods in Celebration. There are even a number of interesting boardwalk sections through the marshland. And don't be shy to follow any of the offshoots leading to the luxurious homes that line the lake, too. Definitely time well spent.
Orlando's Exotic Animal Experience offers visitors the chance to have personal encounters with some of the world's most interesting animals. Residents at the park include several species of kangaroos and lemurs, owl monkeys, kinkajou, deer, and two-toed sloths.
All visits are by reservation only, and guests have the choice of a group experience, private visit, and special packages that allow them to spend extra time with the animals. There is also a "Simply Sloths" option for those who want to spend all their time hanging out with the world's most adorable critters.
Location: Quinlan Street, Orlando, Florida
Most first-time visitors to Orlando come to visit the famous theme parks: SeaWorld, Walt Disney World, and Universal Studios, about 10 to 20 miles from the downtown area, traffic depending. A short drive from the theme parks, the popular tourist area around International Drive is home to large outlet malls, water parks such as Wet 'n' Wild, and other tourist attractions. Below are some highly-rated hotels, with swimming pools, in convenient locations for visiting Orlando's top tourist sites and outlet shopping malls:
Luxury Hotels:
- Four Seasons Resort Orlando at Walt Disney World Resort , in a gated community at the namesake theme park, ensconces guests in serene rooms and suites with views of the fireworks and an array of enticing spa services.
- Waldorf Astoria Orlando is another top luxury option, a five-minute complimentary shuttle ride from Walt Disney World. Guests can use the facilities at the more affordable yet still top-notch Signia by Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek next door, including a three-acre lazy river pool and waterslide.
- Also close to the Disney theme parks, as well as outlet shopping malls, Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress is another family-friendly and more affordable luxury option.
Mid-Range Hotels:
- A free shuttle whisks you to Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure from Drury Inn & Suites , a good value mid-range option.
- Close to Walt Disney World and outlet shopping, Marriott's Cypress Harbour has two-bedroom suites and villas with fully-equipped kitchens that are great for families, while Homewood Suites Orlando/International Drive/Convention Center sits in a convenient location 15 minutes by car from Walt Disney World and only 10 minutes by car from Universal Studios and SeaWorld.
Budget Hotels:
- In a fantastic location, about four minutes by car from Walt Disney World, Hampton Inn Orlando/Lake Buena Vista offers great value with free parking and a complimentary shuttle to the park.
- From the Fairfield Inn & Suites Orlando Near Universal Orlando Resort, you can take advantage of the free shuttle to Universal Studios or walk to the park in about 15 minutes, and the Comfort Suites near Universal Studios offers large, clean rooms within walking distance of restaurants.
- Multi-Day Universal Park Passes : To get the most flexibility out of your visit to Orlando, residents of the U.S. and Canada can purchase Universal Orlando Tickets that are good for entrance during a seven-day period of your choice. Options include two-, three-, and four-day passes for the two main parks or for all three, including Volcano Bay.
- Helicopter Tour: One of the most unique ways to see Orlando and the surrounding area is from the air. A Helicopter Tour from Walt Disney World Resort Area offers a chance to gain a bird's-eye view of the theme parks and get a true picture of their size and layout.
- Day Trip to Kennedy Space Center: One of the biggest attractions in Florida can be easily visited on the Kennedy Space Center Day Trip with Transport from Orlando . This comprehensive tour allows plenty of time to explore the many exhibits at this large complex and includes IMAX films, a tour of NASA's Launch Headquarters, a private tour of the Space Shuttle Atlantis exhibit, and hotel pickup and drop-off. For a slightly shorter and more economical tour with fewer perks, try the Kennedy Space Center at Cape Canaveral Tour .

Shopping at orlando international premium outlets.
By Janet K. Keeler
Orlando International Premium Outlets may just have the best location of any shopping mall in the U.S.A. The complex has unmatched visibility, tucked as it is into a huge pie-shaped parcel where Interstate 4 and the Florida Turnpike meet. These are two of Florida’s busiest highways coursing through one of the state’s busiest tourism towns.
Universal Orlando (can you say Harry Potter?) is mere miles on the other side of I-4. And the House of the Mouse and its Disney theme parks, shopping, dining and entertainment complex plus oodles of accommodations isn’t far either. Plus, the outlet mall is on the north end of restaurant-lined International Drive, a curvy road that most Orlando visitors find themselves on at least once during a visit.
Visitors’ needing a break from fantasy characters and thrill rides head to the outlet mall. They will be hard-pressed to not find something to take home from the 180 stores stretched over a vast outdoor complex. Let’s face it, though, lots of designers have set up shop at the nation’s outlet malls, and you’ll see Kate Spade , Donna Karan and Michael Kors in many places.
Spend a day at Orlando Premium Outlet Mall browsing stores that aren’t as ubiquitous. You’ll find plenty of them. Like Mimmic Bijuterias , jewelry store for men and women that trades in reasonably priced baubles that give off a professional look or a bohemian vibe.
UGG sheepskin shoes remain trendy and UGG Australia offers comfort in many styles. There are the well-known (and well-worn) classic boots with the seams on the outside and the non-slip soles, but other styles are available. Pink and blue boots, comfy slippers and even wedge sandals are on the shelves.
There’s not much snowboarding going on in Florida, but both Zumiez brings the cool to the Sunshine State so visitors can take it home with them. It stocks snowboarding shoes, clothes and other equipment as well as skateboarding clothes.
Head to Kipling for some of the niftiest bags, purses and totes on the planet. Born in Antwerp, Belgium, in 1987, Kipling and its designers plugged into what a woman needs when it comes to purses and bags: long straps, easy-wear fabric and pockets, lots of pockets. Kipling makes luggage, too, a sensible buy if you need another place to stash souvenirs for the trip home.
Brahmin , an American manufacturer, specializes in handbags, mostly in leather and some with stylish detailing such as embossing and mixed media adornments. Tuck your outlet shopping savings into a sweet periwinkle wallet.
A stop into IT’SUGAR is just what a weary shopper needs to boost her flagging energy. If the candy store doesn’t have something to satisfy the sweet tooth and pump up the metabolism, it likely doesn’t exist. That includes Beast Mode Chocolates by Marshawn Lynch, NFL running back. Gummy everything, too.
Now, let’s look for clothes, and finding something a bit different here isn’t difficult. Check out Ted Baker London and Robert Graham for sophisticated collections for both men and women. These designers specialize in clothes and accessories that are appropriate for fancy evening affairs or casual beachside rendezvous.
Volcom is our last stop of the day, hot for the latest styles in the youth market. And by youth, we mean anyone who wants to look plugged into fashion but still dress age-appropriate. Soft fabrics and a casual flair are its specialties.
It won’t take much to find Orlando International Premium Outlets, but once you do, hunt for the something different.
