When I first bought the tickets they seemed expensive but having attended the show I think they were worth every penny.

I felt that Pink is an amazing entertainer who engaged with the audience and also showed appreciation for the other performers. Not only this but she has ( as evidenced by the video clips) done lots of ambassadorship things for worthy causes.

I felt she can across as a very warm caring person of incredible talent and I enjoyed the whole event.

Would definitely like to see her in concert again. Truly spectacular.

I had seen P!nk live at Madison Square Garden in NYC once before when she had started using the silks onstage, so I knew her shows were impressive. But nothing prepared me for last night. Not only does she entertain with a well-choreographed show, she’s humble, she’s funny and the show brims with passion. This is a well-rehearsed production, yet she still makes it feel spontaneous. There are lots of fast rock-out songs with pyrotechnics but also quiet moments where her voice shines during the ballads. Highlights for me were the nod to Gwen Stefani/No Doubt blend of Just a Girl with her own Funhouse and her flying all around the arena like Tinkerbell during So What. What a phenomenal show. What a phenomenal performance. P!nk sure gives you your money’s worth. I tend to avoid big stadium concerts, but for P!nk I’ll gladly make an exception. Go see her! You won’t regret it.

This tour date was my second time seeing P!NK on the Beautiful Trauma tour. (I got to travel to Charlottesville for a date on the tour in 2019.) When the Charlotte, NC, date was announced for this March, I had hoped to be able to go because it's near my birthday this time. This date was just as awesome. (I have listened to P!NK's albums since her first album was released when I was an assistant manager in a music store.)

P!NK is personal, on point, and gives audience participation a new meaning. She's working hard to keep her body prepped to do everything she does on stage, and as a female in her age group as well as a lifelong singer and musician's spouse, I applaud her voice and her choices in everything she puts together for her concert tour dates. If you were hesitant to go to the tour date because you hear her music and do not go to concerts, then I recommend you try to go to at least one tour date. You will not be disappointed!

Explaining the Colorful Jerseys of the Giro d’Italia

Learn the meaning and strategies behind the pink, purple, blue, and white jerseys that define the challenges and ambitions of the Italian Grand Tour.

Leaders wear yellow, sprinters wear green, climbers wear polka dots, and young guns wear white. But when it comes to Grand Tours, those jerseys only apply to the Tour de France (mostly). Cycling’s two other Grand Tours, the Vuelta a España and the Giro d’Italia , have their own jerseys to correspond with their races’ four classifications.

And seeing as we’re on the eve of this year’s Giro, let’s look at the jerseys of the season’s first and most difficult Grand Tour.

Maglia Rosa: Overall Leader

Known as the maglia rosa (which, you can probably guess, means “pink jersey” in Italian), the pink jersey goes to the Giro’s overall leader in the general classification race.

“Why pink?” You might be wondering. Well, because Italians are always going to have a beautiful flair for the dramatic. But, more accurately, the jersey is pink because the Giro d’Italia was originally created by the Italian sports newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport, which has been printed on pink paper since the late 1800s.

At the end of the Giro’s three weeks, the man in pink will be the one hoisting the race’s trophy, which is called the “Trofeo Senza Fine,” or the “Endless Trophy.” (Remember: Italians, dramatic flair.)

Maglia Ciclamino: Best Sprinter

Next is the purple jersey, which, in the Giro, goes to the leader of the points classification. In Italian, it’s called the maglia ciclamino (“chik-lamino”).

As available points are weighted toward sprint stages, it’s easy to think of the points jersey as the race’s best sprinter (though that’s not always the case). As Grand Tours are virtually impossible for sprinters to win, sprinters are angling for the points classification. And in Italy, that means they’re racing purple. Well, I guess in Italy, it means they’re racing for ciclamino .

Scoring for the ciclamino is a bit complicated, as each stage is broken down into three categories (two of which include two categories each. Why? Your guess is as good as mine.) Bear in mind that the race also includes daily intermediate sprints, which are their own category, so it’s not just about the finish line. Scoring in the points classification goes as follows:

• A and B category (flat sprint stages): 50, 35, 25, 18, 14, 12, 10, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, and 1 points
• C category: 25, 18, 12, 8, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, and 1 points
• D and E category: 15, 12, 9, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, and 1 points
• Intermediate sprints: 12, 8, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, and 1 points

Maglia Azzurra: Best Climber

The maglia azzurra is the blue jersey awarded to the race’s best climber. As the Giro is known for its punishing climbs, this is one of the most important jerseys in racing. Sometimes, as climbing is essential to winning a Grand Tour, the blue and pink jerseys are worn by the same rider. Of course, that’s not always the case, and often, the maglia azzurra is won by a climbing domestique.

The Giro breaks climbs down into five categories, with Category 1 climbs being the hardest and Category 4 climbs being the easiest. Above Category 1 is the Cima Coppi, which is the summit of the highest point in the race. Mountain scoring is far more straightforward than the breakdown for the points classification. Points available on each type of climb are as follows:

• Cima Coppi - 50, 30, 20, 14, 10, 6, 4, 2, and 1 points
• Category 1 climbs - 40, 18, 12, 9, 6, 4, 2, and 1 points
• Category 2 climbs - 18, 8, 6, 4, 2, and 1 points
• Category 3 climbs - 9, 4, 2, and 1 points
• Category 4 climbs - 3, 2, and 1 points

Maglia Bianca: Best Young Rider

The one constant across the jerseys of the three Grand Tours is the white jersey. In Italian, it’s called the maglia bianca and, like in the Tour and the Vuelta, is awarded to the best young rider. Unlike the maglias azzurra and ciclamino, and their more complicated points breakdowns, the race for the maglia bianca is simple: the highest rider in the general classification rankings under the age of 25 wins the white jersey.

As all four jerseys must be worn every day (after all, companies pay good money to sponsor each jersey), should any rider hold two jerseys, the second-place rider in each category will wear one of the jerseys. In other words, should Tadej Pogačar be in pink and blue at the same time, the second-best climber gets to wear the blue jersey.

BIELLA, Italy (AP) — It only took Tadej Pogačar until the second day of his Giro d’Italia debut to make a mark on the Italian grand tour.

And the Slovenian star did it despite a puncture and a tumble, 11 kilometers (seven miles) from the end of the tricky second stage on Sunday, on the approach to the final climb.

Pogačar swiftly made his way back to the peloton and then attacked on his own 4 kilometers (2.5 miles) from the end to secure victory on the top-category uphill finish to Santuario di Oropa and the leader’s pink jersey.

Pogačar raised his arms and screamed in delight as he crossed the line, finishing 27 seconds ahead of Daniel Martínez and Geraint Thomas at the end of the undulating 161-kilometer (100-mile) route from San Francesco al Campo, that featured three categorized climbs.

“I just wanted a stage win today and some gap, to test the legs a little bit. And, yeah, the dream was to take the pink jersey,” Pogačar said. “Now I can relax a little bit the next few days with the team and we’ll stay safe in the sprints.”

The UAE Emirates cyclist took over the maglia rosa from Jhonatan Narváez, who had surprisingly edged Pogačar at the end of the opening stage on Saturday.

Pogačar moved 45 seconds ahead of last year’s runner-up Thomas, who is likely to be his main challenger, and Martínez.

“Nothing new that, is it?” Thomas said. “We expected it. I was hoping to follow but I knew if I tried to keep going like that I would completely blow up.

“It’s OK for the second day ... obviously Tadej is, well, he’s Tadej.”

Rarely has the Giro had such an overwhelming pre-race favorite as Pogačar, with the two-time Tour de France winner targeting a Giro-Tour double.

There was a heart-stopping moment when Pogačar’s front tire blew and he tumbled slowly to the ground. The incident had echoes of one of Marco Pantani’s famous exploits, 25 years ago almost to the day, when the Italian cycling great also had a mechanical problem at the foot of the climb to Oropa but recovered to solo to stage victory.

Pogačar didn’t seem fazed.

“Not really,” he said when asked afterward if he had been worried. “I was quite calm. I hit a hole in the city. I just had a super fast flat tire, I think I broke the wheel also … and then I also crashed but it was nothing serious.

“And I was feeling good. The team was super good today. So they bring me back to the front and then we set the pace that we like and it was perfect.”

This year’s Giro had an unusually tricky start — with most grand tours traditionally starting slow and steady — and Sunday saw the earliest mountain finish at the Giro since 1989 when the race began in Sicily and went up Mount Etna.

Monday’s third stage sees the sprinters get their first chance of the race along the mainly flat, 166-kilometer (103-mile) route from Novara to Fossano.

The Giro ends in Rome on May 26.

P!nk 2024 Summer Carnival Tour

P!nk extends record shattering Summer Carnival Stadium Tour into 2024 with special guest Sheryl Crow and support from The Script. Fans can expect to see P!NK perform an epic high-energy set including her biggest hits like “So What”, “TRUSTFALL”, “Just Give Me A Reason”, and more. The tour’s production will feature P!NK descending from the rafters, including jaw-dropping aerial acrobatics, pumping dance routines and vibrant costume changes at Gillette Stadium on August 21, 2024.

Giro d'Italia 2024: Daily stage results and general classification standings

The Giro d’Italia 2024 is underway and, with it, the Grand Tour season in men’s road cycling .

There are 21 stages with the finale in Rome on Sunday 26 May where the winner will receive the coveted pink jersey, 'Maglia Rosa'.

Slovenia's two-time Tour de France winner Tadej Pogacar is making his Giro debut and aiming to become the first rider since Marco Pantani in 1998 to achieve the Giro-Tour double.

Compatriot Primoz Roglic opted not to defend his crown, concentrating instead on the Tour de France, but last year's runner-up Geraint Thomas is in the line-up.

Sunday 5 May: Stage 2 - San Francesco al Campo to Santuario di Oropa, 161km

Tadej Pogacar overcame a puncture at the base of the Sanctuary of Oropa climb to claim his first-ever win at the Giro d'Italia and take the leader's pink jersey.

The stage featured the earliest summit finish in the race since 1989, and with less than 40km to go, Andrea Piccolo (EF Education-EasyPost) opened a gap of nearly two minutes over the chasers.

However, the peloton caught up with him midway through the 11.7km climb leading to the Sanctuary of Oropa. Pogacar, who suffered a puncture on his front wheel before the final ascent, quickly rejoined the group and attacked at 4.4km from the summit to cross the line with a 27-seconds lead over Dani Martinez (BORA-hansgrohe) and Geraint Thomas (INEOS Grenadiers).

With this emphatic win, the Slovenian claimed the Maglia Rosa from the provisional leader Jhonatan Narvaez and now tops the general classification with a 45-seconds buffer over Thomas and Martinez.

Jhonatan Narvaez outsprinted Tadej Pogacar to take Stage 1 of the 2024 Giro d'Italia

Saturday 4 May: Stage 1 - Venaria Reale to Torino, 140km

Jhonatan Narvaez upstaged hot favourite Pogacar to take the Maglia Rosa on the opening day.

Frenchman Lilian Calmejane (Intermarche-Wanty) was the last rider to stay out from an early six-man breakaway with Pogacar's UAE Team Emirates colleagues at the front of the peloton. The relentless pace saw a number of general classification contenders, including Romain Bardet , Lucas Plapp and Thymen Arensman , being dropped.

With 10km to go, Calmejane was caught by a chase group of seven including Max Schachmann and Damiano Caruso . Pogacar then attacked from the front of the peloton on the final climb of San Vito with 4km to go and quickly reduced a gap of 45 seconds to nothing. Only Narvaez was able to go with him although Schachmann managed to just about stay in touch. And in a tactical finish, it was the national champion of Ecuador who won the sprint with Schachmann edging out Pogacar for second.

The fact that the start of the Giro d'Italia 2024 on May 4, 2024 is centered around Turin is no coincidence. May 4th is a date that holds a central place in the memory of the people of Turin, with its meaning dating back 75 years. On May 4, 1949, the Superga air disaster occurred here, in which nearly the entire team of soccer club Torino perished.

They were flying back to Turin from Lisbon after a match with Benfica, but due to poor weather conditions in Northern Italy, the plane ultimately crashed against the wall of the basilica on the Superga, the well-known hill just north of the city. All passengers lost their lives in the crash.

It's a nice gesture by RCS to posthumously honor the soccer players and other passengers who died back then. This is done with a stage of just 140 kilometers, starting in Venaria Reale, a suburb of Turin known for its palace. The cyclists will then face 45 kilometers of flat terrain, during which the breakaway is likely to gain some space.

The first mountain points can be collected after about 48 kilometers on the Berzano di San Pietro (2.8 km at 5.3%), after which the peloton heads toward the Superga. We approach it from the 'easier' side, which is 8.2 kilometers long with an average gradient of 4.3 percent. After this obstacle, we enter 25 kilometers of downhill as we make our way towards the crucial challenges of the day. The nervousness in the peloton will surely rise durnig this phase.

From Moncalieri, we head to the foot of the San Vito climb, which is 1.4 kilometers long with an average gradient of 9.8 percent. After a short descent, the cyclists can get acquainted with the final straight line, but then they face the tough climb of Colle Maddalena, seven kilometers at 6.8 percent.

It starts off fairly mild with one kilometer at 2.1 percent, but then the road rises at an average of 7.5 percent. At the top of this hill, there are just over twenty kilometers left, half of which are downhill. However, the second ascent of San Vito will be crucial, with its gradients going up to 16 percent.

This obstacle was added to the RCS two days before the announcement of Tadej Pogacar's participation. At the top of San Vito, there are still three kilometers to be covered, but making up ground will already be difficult here: up to 600 meters from the finish, the course goes downhill (and quite technically so), and then the last flat section will also be taken at breakneck speed. Hence, it seems the uphill sections will decide the outcome of the race...

The riders should have no complaints about the weather on Wednesday. Temperatures between 15 and 20 degrees Celsius are expected, with a breeze from the south and the sun possibly making an appearance.

He is the absolute top favorite for this Giro, and his name starts with a T and ends with adej Pogacar: Tadej Pogacar ! What applies for the entire Giro 2024 is certainly true for the opening stage in and around Turin. From a marketing perspective, RCS is very keen to see the Slovenian superstar of UAE-Team Emirates sporting the pink jersey on day one, which is also reflected in the layout of this first stage.

So, what is the plan for UAE-Team Emirates? To really get the race going – hard – with riders like Domen Novak and Mikkel Bjerg, following which a pace acceleration by someone like Rafal Majka or Felix Grossschartner could serve as a launchpad for Pogacar's relentless acceleration. Whether that happens on the Maddalena or San Vito, who is going to keep up with him then...

Pure punchers like Julian Alaphilippe or very strong sprinters like Laurence Pithie (Groupama-FDJ) and Christophe Laporte (Visma | Lease a Bike) might survive going up San Vito once, but two laps up that steep climb with the serious Maddalena climb in between is likely too much for them. Hence, we tend to lean towards the pure climbing types as outsiders, especially since they can strike an early blow for the general classification.

For diesels such as Geraint Thomas, Thymen Arensman (INEOS Grenadiers, who have a contender in Jhonatan Narváez ), Damiano Caruso (Bahrain Victorious) and Cian Uijtdebroeks (Visma | Lease a Bike), the likely first task will be to limit the damage.

On the other hand, proven one-day racers like Romain Bardet (dsm-firmenich PostNL, recently second in Liège), Ben O'Connor (Decathlon AG2R, winner of the Tour of Murcia) and the more explosive Daniel Felipe Martinez (BORA-hansgrohe) and/or Antonio Tiberi (Bahrain Victorious) are expected to stir things up. O'Connor (with Valentin and Aurélien Paret-Peintre , as well as Andrea Vendrame) and Martinez (with Max Schachmann and Florian Lipowitz) also have strong teammates by their side.

Stage hunter teams like Astana Qazaqstan Team ( Alexey Lutsenko , Cristian Scaroni and Simone Velasco), Lidl-Trek ( Andrea Bagioli ), Soudal Quick-Step (besides Alaphilippe, also Mauri Vansevenant ), Alpecin-Deceuninck ( Quinten Hermans ), Jayco AlUla (Filippo Zana and Luke Plapp) and also Visma | Lease a Bike (alongside Laporte, also with Attila Valter ) will also aim to make their mark in their own way.

Pogačar takes victory and the leader's pink jersey at end of second stage of Giro d'Italia

BIELLA, Italy — It only took Tadej Pogačar until the second day of his Giro d'Italia debut to make his mark on the Italian grand tour. And the Slovenian star did it despite a puncture on the approach to the final climb. Pogačar swiftly made his way back to the peloton and then attacked 4 kilometers (2.5 miles) from the end to secure victory on the top category uphill finish to Santuario di Oropa and the leader's pink jersey. Pogačar finished 27 seconds ahead of Daniel Martínez and Geraint Thomas at the end of the undulating 161-kilometer (100-mile) route from San Francesco al Campo. Pogačar moved 45 seconds ahead of last year's runner-up Thomas and Martínez.
