This article details a subject that is considered canon.

The Victory -class Star Destroyer was a line of Star Destroyer used by both the Republic Navy and Imperial Navy . One ship of the line was the Victory II -class Star Destroyer . The Victory -class was capable of deploying a garrison base and making surface landings, and boasted seven sublight engines . The ship could be used to provide security for convoys , to transport cargo, and to accompany other vessels.

Originally used by the Galactic Republic , the Victory -class continued into the service of the Galactic Empire from 19 BBY , with one such Imperial craft being the Harrow . In 14 BBY , several Victories were utilized by the Empire, including some based at Coruscant 's Imperial Palace and Belderone 's R/M Facility Four deepdock . During the Galactic Civil War , at least five Victory -class Star Destroyers served with the Dark Lord of the Sith Darth Vader at some point following the Battle of Yavin .

Characteristics [ ]

Rakehell-SWM

Two Victory -classes accompanying the Rakehell

A line of Star Destroyer , the Victory -class Star Destroyer [1] featured a vertical structure rising from its central tower, as well as protruding flaps on both of its side edges. Additionally, it was propelled by seven sublight engines [6] and was capable of carrying at least one garrison base . The Victory -class could also perform surface landings. [1]

One type of Victory -class Star Destroyer was the Victory II -class Star Destroyer . [4]

The Victory -class Star Destroyer could be used to provide security for freighters in a convoy . [7] The ship could also be used to transport important goods, such as Darth Vader's meditation chamber , [1] and accompany other Imperial Star Destroyers , such as the Imperial -class Star Destroyer [6] and Onager -class Star Destroyer . [8]

History [ ]

Use by the republic [ ].

The Victory -class Star Destroyer originally saw use with the Republic Navy . [9] Sentinel Base , a lookout station that monitored supply shipments going to the first Death Star battle station , was originally a garrison base deployed from a [1] Republic [9] Victory -class Star Destroyer, although it was later expanded with prefabricated modules. [1]

Service to the Empire [ ]

VSD AnthonyDevine

A Victory -class Star Destroyer came under attack from the MC75 cruiser Aspiration .

Following the rise of the Galactic Empire [1] in 19 BBY , [10] the Victory -class was still used by the Imperial Navy . [1] At some point, a Victory -class Star Destroyer was attacked and heavily damaged in space by the MC75 Star Cruiser Aspiration . [11] In another instance, two Victory -class Star Destroyers accompanied the Imperial Onager -class Star Destroyer Rakehell through a cloud of gas in space. [8]

The Harrow was an Imperial Victory -class that at some point was positioned above a terrestrial body, [12] while another Victory served as the main security for Imperial Convoy 8766 , a group of four bulk freighters and six medium freighters rumored to be heading for a secret Imperial installation. The convoy arrived at an Imperial depot over the course of three days , with the Star Destroyer arriving on the second day. [7]

14 BBY campaign [ ]

In 14 BBY , [13] the landing field of the Coruscant Imperial Palace could accommodate the landings of Victory -class Star Destroyers. A group of stormtroopers commanded by Darth Vader transferred the Sith Lord's meditation chamber from a Victory parked at the landing field to the corvette Carrion Spike , in preparation for Vader's mission to Murkhana with Moff Wilhuff Tarkin . [1]

At Murkhana, the Carrion Spike was stolen by rebel insurgents , who used it to attack Galidraan Station . Tarkin and Vader pursued the group to Galidraan III , but the insurgents soon fled the system . Tarkin then contacted an Imperial colonel and asked what Imperial resources were in the area, as he suspected the insurgents would strike again. Along with several other facilities, the colonel reported of the Imperial Navy R/M Facility Four deepdock at Belderone , at which several Victory -class Star Destroyers were parked, along with several CR90 corvettes , two Carrack -class light cruisers , and the Venator -class Star Destroyer Liberator . Tarkin decided to deploy the Liberator to Nam Chorios , as that seemed the most likely target in the vicinity, although the insurgents ultimately chose to attack Lucazec next. [1]

Darth Vader 6 end panel

Several Victory -class Star Destroyers supported Darth Vader's Devastator .

Galactic Civil War [ ]

Sometime after the Battle of Yavin , during the Galactic Civil War , at least five Victory -class Star Destroyers served with Vader's flagship , [6] the Imperial I -class Star Destroyer Devastator , [14] when the Sith Lord learned that the rebel who destroyed the first Death Star was named Skywalker . [6]

Behind the scenes [ ]

The Victory -class Star Destroyer first appeared in the new Star Wars canon in the 2014 novel Tarkin , written by James Luceno . [1] It was first pictured in Darth Vader (2015) 6 , a 2015 comic book written by Kieron Gillen and illustrated by Salvador Larroca . [6] In the Star Wars Legends continuity, the Victory class first appeared in the 1979 novel Han Solo's Revenge , by Brian Daley . [15]

IHSAA baseball: Noblesville recipe for success no secret; sectional draw thoughts

star trek victory class

Believe or the not, postseason baseball is right around the corner. With the IHSAA revealing the brackets for sectionals , teams can start to dream on the path to Victory Field. I'll have more on the sectional draw below, but first, I check in with the top team in the Fab 15 , Noblesville.

Millers are preaching patience

On the surface, Noblesville's 10 strikeouts against Brebeuf Jesuit starter Christian Forniss seem like a tough day at the plate.

Yes, Noblesville coach Justin Keever would like to see his players make more contact with two strikes, but their process at the plate was sound. By working deep into counts, the Millers forced Brebeuf's starter into several extended at-bats. The Northwestern commit reached 100 pitches by the fourth inning, and the host plated five more runs against reliver Nick Sobek after Forniss left the game.

Vote for baseball player of week: Double-digit Ks and multi-homer games

"Sometimes the guy makes pitches and he beats us, and sometimes he's better than us in a certain situation, but did we make him earn the strikeout?" Keever said.

Through 17 games, the reigning Hoosier Crossroads Conference champs are 14-3 and atop the HCC with a 6-0 record. The Millers have plus-79 run differential and six players with at least 10 RBIs. Last season, starter Bryce Riggs led a Noblesville capable of shutting down the opposition with him on the mound. These Millers still have strong pitching and defense, but their bats have been the strength of the team so far. Sophomore Aiden Reynolds leads the team with a .408/.536/.612 slash line. The IU commit has 19 RBIs, five doubles, one triple and one home run through 17 games.

"They're different, different group of guys, they interact differently with each other, different roles and all that stuff," Keever said when asked to compare this year's team with last year's. "But the big rocks are the same: The approach, trying to throw strikes, all the things we try to accomplish.

"The recipe for success isn't a secret one. Our guys are really attacking what it takes to win and understand that we've got to do it together."

Here's a look at some intriguing sectional brackets.

Sectional 8 (Noblesville)

Easily one of, if not the toughest sectional in the state, Noblesville faces Carmel (9-5), while Westfield (9-7) and Zionsville (12-5) play each other in round one. Carmel has a deep arsenal of pitchers, critical in any must-win situation. The Greyhounds could turn to any combination Adam Buczkowski, Max Winders and Gabe Mathison to start or enter in relief.

Westfield and Zionsville meet for the first time in the regular season this week. Both teams are perennial state title contenders, making their first-round meeting a prime example for tournament seeding, but that's an issue for another day.

Fishers (12-7) and Hamilton Southeastern (8-9) get the first-round bye, but playing your arch rival with a trip to the sectional championship on the line is hardly cause for celebration. Fishers took two of three from HSE during the Mudsock series last week.

Sectional 27 (Brebeuf Jesuit)

Reigning sectional champion Bishop Chatard (12-5) draws host Brebeuf (12-6) in the semifinals. The Trojans are always a tough out, but they struggled in two games against Brebeuf this season, losing 15-6 and 7-5.

The winner of Chatard/Brebeuf will most likely meet Guerin Catholic (12-2) in the sectional final. After a breakout 2023 campaign, the Golden Eagles will certainly love to get over the hump this postseason.

Sectional 43 (Sheridan)

This sectional produced the Class 2A runner-up in Covenant Christian last season. Don't let the Crusaders' 5-10 record fool you. Last season, Covenant was 9-15 before reeling off seven wins in a row en route to Victory Field. Covenant will return to the sectional final. University (9-6-1) and Cascade (11-2) appear headed for a semifinal round collision course. The winner will setup up an exciting sectional championship game.

Sectional 59 (Morristown)

Lutheran (6-9) gets a tough break having to play in the lone first round game against Morristown (4-9). Reigning champion Greenwood Christian (6-7) likely awaits whoever makes it out of the bottom side of the bracket.

Freedom class (24th century)

  • View history

The Freedom -class starship was a type of vessel in service with Starfleet in the late 24th century . Starfleet had previously operated another type of Freedom -class starship in the 2160s . ( Star Trek Beyond )

Like the Archer -type , Hermes -class , the Saladin -class and the Kelvin -type , all of which were from the 23rd century , this type was noted for being one of the small number of Federation classes that had one nacelle. The Hermes -class and the Saladin -class shared a similar configuration with a primary hull being connected by a pylon to a nacelle . ( Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan , Star Trek ; TNG : " The Battle ", " The Best of Both Worlds, Part II ")

At least one ship, the USS Firebrand , had a small torpedo launcher connected to the pylon, just above the nacelle.

The class was represented at the Battle of Wolf 359 , with the Firebrand . This ship was destroyed along with 38 others in an attempt to stop a Borg cube from reaching Earth. ( TNG : " The Best of Both Worlds, Part II ")

Star Trek Official Starships Collection issue 118

According to Issue #118 of the Star Trek: The Official Starships Collection , the Freedom -class was a type of light frigate. This class was approximately 430 meters in length, had a maximum speed of warp factor 9.2, and a approximate crew complement of 370. Starfleet used this class primarily for light exploration or planet surveys. Secondary roles assigned to this class included defending Federation borders or guarding supply convoys. An unique feature of this class was the phaser cannon found on the ventral surface of the primary hull .
