Here are 4 Stunning Modified Tata Safari Storme of India
Tata Motors had tasted a fair share of success with the Tata Safari Storme for more than two decades. Known as the first-ever Indian SUV in the country, the Tata Safari was well complimented for its impressive driving comfort as well as the potent off-road performance. However, no matter how important and popular it is, the Safari Storme can’t avoid showing its age and the old man has retired from the market after almost 21 years of presence, making room for the upcoming Tata Gravitas .
Do note, that’s what happened to the Tata Safari Storme in the new car market, not the modified one. The SUV is still going strong in the department of modified cars of India and we’ve seen plenty of stunning examples of modified Tata Safari Storme which looks extremely rugged and up to date. While some of the modified Safari Storme are from car mod studios, others are tweaked in-house by Tata Motors itself. Let’s check out these outstanding modified Tata Safari Storme in India.
1. The Mountain Rescue
Though it’s been a while since the modified Tata Safari Storme Mountain Rescue took its wrap off at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show, our impression on the car is still in-depth. Modified by its carmaker Tata Motors, this Tata Safari Storme has been modified to get the most gorgeous outside look with the stunning red and white mix.

The front end of the vehicle comes with metal bumper featuring a bull bar along with dual auxiliary lamps setup. The roof-mounted fog lamps with a luggage box are other highlighting changes on the vehicle.

The biggest talking point to the side profile of the modified Tata Safari Storme should be the rugged-looking off-road-spec tires with snow chains to help the car find better traction on the snowy terrain. That said, after the mod jobs, the Safari Storme came off as a proper SUV to do its rescuing duty in the snow-covered mountain areas.
2. The MotorMind
Done by Motormind Automotive – a car modifying workshop based out in Bangalore, this can be the sportiest-looking modified Tata Safari Storme ever. The custom body kit of the SUV makes it look much more premium, none other than a luxury SUV going on sale in the market. There’s a new bumper at the front that matches well with the gaping air dam and sleek LED strips.
The factory-fitted front grille has been removed and made way for a customized unit, housing a “MotorMind” badge near the headlamps. The modified Tata Safari Storme also comes with hood ornamentation together with roof-mounted hazard lights. Bolder wheel arches with redesigned alloy wheels shod with wider tires are some other update standouts of the vehicle.

3. The Ladakh Concept
Debuted at the Auto Expo 2014, the Tata Safari Storme Ladakh Concept looks ways more robust and upmarket with a set of modifications. The SUV gets a revised front end with the tweaked front grille, new headlamps that look sleeker than the regular units.
The Safari Storme also comes with a redesigned bumper that is blacked-out, making a parallel visual effect with the black grille. The side profile of the SUV sports “Storme Ladakh” decals along with refreshed alloy wheels shod with off-road tires. The Storm features anodized blue accents that act as the highlights on the dark interior colour them, thereby resembling the landscape of Ladakh. A big thumbs-up for this modified Tata Safari Storme .

4. The Off-road Customs
For those who enjoy dedicating themselves into hardcore off-road driving experiences, this modified Tata Safari Storme is the right choice. Built from the house of Tata, the modified Safari Storme was showcased by the company itself as a part of its modification package in Mumbai some years back.
The custom version of the Safari comes with a redesigned bumper, updated headlamps and bumper and roof-mounted auxiliary lamps, bonnet scoop, off-road spec tires and more. The matte orange wrap looks extra stunning on the modified Tata Safari Storme while generous chrome usage helps enhance the premium quotient of the model.

Check Out This Modified Tata Safari Storme By DC Northeast
This customised Tata Safari Storme features a lot of sporty mods on the exterior, while the interior has been given a premium makeover
Tata Safari is one of the most iconic SUVs in the Indian car market, and a lot of hearts were broken when the vehicle was discontinued back in 2019. Even though Tata has brought the ‘Safari’ back in a new avatar, fans of the original still prefer the older, body-on-frame model due to its rugged nature.
Although the old Tata Safari was an extremely handsome SUV, with plenty of old-school charm, there are a lot of people who take the aftermarket route to enhance its looks! Here, we have a modified Tata Safari Storme, from Assam, which has been extensively modified by DC Northeast . The pictures were shared online by the owner, Dr. Saurav Deori Bharali .
The exterior of this modified Tata Safari Storme features a lot of changes. The SUV gets a custom front grille, with honeycomb mesh, along with a new, rather flashy, front bumper. The chrome slat at the end of the bonnet has been replaced by a carbon fibre unit, and a hood scoop has been added as well. The front bumper also gets integrated LED DRLs, and a DC badge can be seen on the bottom right corner of the front grille.
We also see blacked-out side steps and red guard strips just below the doors at the sides of the SUV. At the rear, the chrome strip on the tailgate has been replaced by a carbon fibre strip, and the Tata logo has been replaced by a DC badge. The rear bumper is custom as well, featuring a faux bash plate (finished in silver), flanked by a fake exhaust vent on either side.
The interior of the vehicle is also quite eye-catchy, featuring red leather upholstery. Behind both first row seats, an entertainment screen and a folding tray have been added. Faux wood has been used on the trays, as well as on the doors, to give the cabin an upmarket and premium feel.
DC Design is perhaps one of the most famous car customisation brands in India. Its owner, Dilip Chhabria, has recently been in the news a lot, with allegations of car financing and forgery scams against him.

Check out these 8 outstanding modified Tata Safari SUVs
First launched in 1998, the Tata Safari can be heralded as the first-ever Indian SUV. In spite of a pretty lacklustre sales performance (average monthly sale between July-December 2018 - 521 units), the 7-seat SUV enjoys a dedicated set of followers across the country, and even in some international markets where it is sold. Over the years, Safari has seen various upgrades and presently comes across as a well-sorted option for those looking for an affordable but sufficiently rugged SUV. Here is a look at some stunning examples of the Tata Safari. While some of these feature aftermarket upgrades, others have been customised in-house by Tata Motors - 8 outstanding modified Tata Safari SUVs.

Done up by Big Daddy Customs with the Moon Rover concept , the customised SUV features several updates that give it a profoundly different visual identity. In fact, the custom job has been executed so well that it takes more than a glance to establish the true identity of this SUV. Up front, it features a chunky new bumper that carries a faux skid plate and LED DRLs. The front-end features a sleek pair of headlamps and a new grille, both of which help this Safari mimic an Evoque. The front and rear fenders, and the hood have been suitably altered to obtain a bold look that is similar to that of the pricier SUV.
Modified Tata Safari Tuff Concept
Displayed at the Auto Expo 2016, the Tata Safari Tuff concept was done up by the company's Personalization Studio. It is based on the Safari Storme and gets many add-ons that make it more rugged. Up front, it gets a metal bumper with a huge bull bar that carries a set of auxiliary lamps. Furthermore, the custom model gets a tow hook, a revised grille, and bespoke trim on the headlights. In the side profile, you'll be quick to notice the black-painted alloy wheels shod with off-road-spec tires, new footrests, and 'Mountain' graphics in the lower portions of the doors. The ORVMs have been painted black to achieve a bolder look, while the roof carries a luggage carrier and a LED light bar.
On the inside, this Tata Safari features a 2-DIN touchscreen infotainment unit, tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), GPS-guided navigation, water-resistant seat covers, rubber mats, car care kit, and an air freshener. The list of optional features includes a reverse parking camera, tire repair kit, and a refrigerator.

8-year-old Tata Safari Storme: Options for midlife update
I was thinking of getting the engine re-tuned or mapped for better performance, but am a bit apprehensive.
BHPian jacobsam recently shared this with other enthusiasts.
It's one of those posts which honestly I don`t know how to draft and so moderators please bear with me.
So my Tata Safari Storme has completed 8 years in existence and I have three reasons for not letting it go.
- No alternative (both in the same budget and next level too).
- I just don't want to let it go.
- Resale value is just not there and I am not in a mood to make any new purchase.
So considering all these factors, I want to keep it with me for another three to four years at least and so I am thinking about giving it a midlife update to my ride (should I or shouldn’t it).
So the confusion as to which journey to take:
Cosmetically:
- My ride is an Urban Bronze colour which I feel is the most apt colour for Storme (other colour Storme owners please forgive me). So not able to make up my mind whether I should change the colour and if yes which would be more suitable. Barring a few scratches, the colour is fine. Need special mention to the paint quality Tata has put. Just yesterday, after it was washed my daughter was telling me that our Storme looks just like new.
- In case I don’t change the colour, should I go with PPF for the complete ride for a piece of mind since I belong to a Tier IV city with careless wash guys.
- Should I wrap it so that I can go back to the original colour after some time.
- The model is EX with steel rims so would like to upgrade to Alloys and need suggestions as to which would suit better. I don’t like protruding type and would prefer the stock look. I like the Hexa ones or the twin-pipe design that Tata used while displaying it at Delhi Expo.
- The model came with a single-din JVC audio system so would like to upgrade to any android touch screen setup with a navigation option. Instead of fixing the screen at the base would like to fix it at the top for the ease of navigation.
Mechanically:
So here is the issue. As many of the Storme owners have pointed out about the knocking sound of injectors, I had injectors cleaned by Mohan Bhai at Naveen diesel in Mumbai a few months back. After it was done there was this weird new knocking sound for a few seconds when the accelerator is pushed. Took it to TASS and as per their lead mechanic, it is because the injectors are cleaned and after settling some carbon it wouldn’t be there. I don’t understand that logic because if that’s the case then new SStorme should also make that sound. Anyways, Delphi injectors guys were called for a deep scanning which said all things are good and no issues. If more investigation is required, we have to again open the injectors and I didn't want to do that and so it was left at it.
Now in this situation, I was thinking of getting it tuned or mapped for better performance and efficiency but this injector sound is creating apprehensions if something new crops up. So what would experts say? Should I go for it when the ride is at 1,10,000 km? Is it advisable?
So a humble request to all the members of this esteemed forum to pool in your thoughts and guide me through this storm.
Here's what BHPian shancz had to say on the matter:
IMO keep the car. Watch those brilliant "Reclaim Your Life" ads if you're feeling the itch: Don't change the colour, won't feel like the factory finish and also illegal the last time I checked since the registration info specifies the colour. PPF would need more care than paint since it would be easier for them to scratch the softer PPF layer and IIRC a 3M guy had also asked to be extra careful when cleaning the PPF. IMO get it detailed at a good place and probably a ceramic coating is done. Wraps and Alloys are your call, I liked the Safari steel wheels but if you really want to then get the alloys first. Modern HU should be a good addition, be mindful of the mounting so it doesn't start to rattle over bad roads. No idea about the rest, someone better informed will guide you.
Here's what BHPian Kosfactor had to say on the matter:
This cannot be fixed by injector service, you will need to replace all 4. Knocking means it is also producing a good amount of soot, that soot will contaminate your oil and kill other things eventually. In case you wish to keep running this as is, please change your engine oil & filter more often. I will also recommend not to tune this engine for more power, the cooling system is may not take it without adequate mods there as well.
Check out BHPian comments for more insights and information.

Prior to the launch of the new Safari monocoque, Tata Motors used to offer this iconic SUV with a proper ladder-on-frame chassis. The company gave it the name of Tata Safari Storme, and it was a decent hit in the country. However, this model was then discontinued, and ever since then, there has been a gap in the Tata lineup, and now there is no model that can directly compete with the Mahindra Scorpio Classic and Scorpio-N. However, what if the company decided to relaunch the Safari Storme with a modernized look? Well, if this were the case, then it could look something like this.
The video rendering of what the Tata Safari Classic could look like has been shared on YouTube by Bimble Designs on their channel. It starts off with a panning shot of the front end of the rendered Tata Safari Classic model finished in silver color. It can be noted that the overall body and design of the discontinued Tata Safari Storme has been retained. However, it has been given a number of modern elements to make it look more contemporary.
Tata Safari Classic: Design details
On the front, the first thing that we can note is that the headlights have been given a much more modern appearance. The inside portion of these LED headlights has been blacked out, and they have been given LED DRLs. Just underneath the main headlights, we can also note the presence of more LED headlights similar to the ones seen in the new Safari facelift with its split LED headlight setup. The front grille has also been blacked out, and it also takes inspiration from the grille of the outgoing Safari facelift. The front bumper also features a black skid plate as well.
Coming to the side profile, not much has been changed by the digital artist. The car continues to boast the same tall and long silhouette of the Safari Storme with the exception of 19-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels. Additionally, the door handles have also been blacked out, and a Classic badge has been added on the side profile. As for the rear end, it also looks the same as the Storme but has been given a few little updates. This rendered model gets new LED taillights replacing the old halogen taillights. It also gets a new connected LED light bar in the middle as well.
Tata Safari Classic: Is it coming?
Unfortunately, at the moment, the company does not have any plans to bring back the Safari Storme with the new Classic badge. The company is currently moving towards a future with more electric vehicles in its plans. The company recently showcased the near-production version of the Sierra EV, which has also been in development for a long time.
Tata Motors will be bringing back the iconic Sierra name with the electric powertrain around 2025. The model will get a very bold exterior design and a modern interior layout. The company at the moment has not revealed its powertrain specifications. However, it is believed that it will be offering the Sierra EV with a 60 kWh battery pack which will be able to provide a range of around 550-600 km.

Hilary moves into Southern California after making landfall in Mexico's Baja California peninsula
By Kerry Breen
Updated on: August 21, 2023 / 12:56 PM EDT / CBS News
Tropical Storm Hilary moved into Southern California on Sunday evening just hours after making landfall in the northern part of Mexico's Baja California Peninsula. Officials warned of " catastrophic and life-threating flooding " in Mexico and the southwestern U.S.
Hilary was downgraded to a tropical storm a few hours before making landfall, as rain from the storm started spreading in Southern California, the National Weather Service said . Then it was downgraded again, to a post-tropical cyclone early Monday morning. The system was expected to dissipate later in the day but still produce heavy rainfall, significant flooding and gusty winds across the western U.S.
As of 8 a.m. PDT Monday, Hilary was about 115 miles west-northwest of Elko, Nevada, and racing north-northeast at 24 mph with maximum sustained winds of 35 mph.
It was the first time ever that the National Hurricane Center issued a tropical storm warning for Southern California, and California Gov. Gavin Newsom declared a state of emergency ahead of the storm.
More than half a year's worth of rain fell in the desert city of Palm Springs, California, CBS News correspondent Carter Evans reports. Mount Wilson in Angeles National Forest recorded over 8.5 inches of rain as of 7 a.m. PDT, the top amount reported by the National Weather Service's Los Angeles office. Beverly Hills recorded 4.8 inches, and downtown LA recorded nearly 3 inches.
"We are ready," Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass told "Face the Nation" on Sunday.
Tropical storm conditions began Sunday in the southwestern U.S., with gusty winds spreading well inland. The National Hurricane Center said large swells are expected to effect portions of the Baja California peninsula as well as Southern California over the next several days. The California Department of Parks and Recreation on Saturday ordered a temporary closure of all San Diego and Orange County state beaches and several state parks.
- Latest storm coverage from CBS Los Angeles
Disneyland announced Saturday that the parks would be closing early on Sunday, with Disney California Adventure Park closing at 9 p.m., Disneyland Park closing at 10 p.m. and the Downtown Disney District will close at 11 p.m.
Other parts of the southwestern U.S. were preparing, with the National Weather Service in Las Vegas warning on Sunday that strong winds were likely, as well as flash flooding. A state of emergency was declared in Nevada and in Clark County, where Las Vegas is located.
By the time it reached California, Hilary had been downgraded to a tropical storm, which is defined as having winds of at least 39 mph, according to the National Weather Service.
However, it was still packing a punch. Widespread "moderate to heavy" rain was expected into early Monday for Southern California, with a high risk of flash flooding that could include "landslides, mudslides and debris flow" in mountains and deserts, according to the National Weather Service in San Diego .
The weather service forecast that some areas had at least a 70% chance of experiencing flash flooding.
By Monday morning, all coastal warnings had been discontinued, the hurricane center said. However, the National Weather Service's Weather Prediction Center said flood watches were in effect for Southern California, northwest Arizona, much of Nevada, southwest Utah, eastern Oregon, western and central Idaho and southeast Washington. A flood watch means flooding is possible in those areas.
LA County officials had advised all residents and visitors on California's Catalina Island to leave as soon as possible ahead of the storm's arrival.
A White House spokesperson said that President Biden had been briefed on Hilary and that his team was working "with state and local agencies ahead of the storm." The president and his family are vacationing in Lake Tahoe in Northern California. The president and first lady Jill Biden are slated to travel to Hawaii Monday to survey the destruction from the Maui wildfires .
- How to prepare for hurricane season, according to weather experts
"It is rare — indeed nearly unprecedented in the modern record — to have a tropical system like this move through Southern California," said Greg Postel, a hurricane and storm specialist at the Weather Channel who has a doctorate in atmospheric sciences.
Postel said there will likely be "damaging wind gusts," especially at higher elevations, in the area, and swells along the coast.
California was drenched by a historic amount of rain this winter after being hit with an unprecedented number of atmospheric rivers. Chris Heiser, emergency services director for the city of San Diego, told CBS News on Friday that those storms may have helped prepare officials for what is to come from Hilary.
"That really allowed us to get a feel for what the impact of heavy rains and winds are," Heiser said. "But this one's got some unique features. The amount of rainfall is substantial, especially up in the mountains. And the majority of the population of San Diego is at the base of those mountains."
"We're looking at this to be a significant storm, possibly one of those that sets records, and so we're preparing accordingly," he added.
The Navy moved vessels out of San Diego Bay on Saturday to avoid damage from the storm. Ships and submarines left Naval Base San Diego, Naval Base Coronado and Naval Base Point Loma and will remain at sea until Hilary passes over the region, the Navy said in a news release .
"In order to ensure the safety of our Sailors and ships, we are taking all necessary measures to mitigate potential damage to infrastructure and Third Fleet vessels caused by the storm," said Vice Adm. Michael Boyle, commander, U.S. Third Fleet, in the news release. "Safety remains our top priority, and putting all capable ships to sea makes it easier for us to manage the situation ashore."
California State Parks announced that all state beaches in San Diego and Orange counties would be closed Sunday and Monday, while the National Park Service closed the popular Joshua Tree National Park, located east of Palm Springs, through Monday evening over fears of flash flooding.
The city of San Diego followed suit with all city beaches and public buildings.
Los Angeles County Sheriff Robert Luna said in a news briefing that "swift water rescue personnel and rescue aircraft are on alert and ready for immediate response."
LA County officials also asked the homeless to stay away from waterways and river channels during the storm.
Pasadena Unified School District and Los Angeles Unified School District, the second largest school district in the country, both said all public schools would be closed Monday.
In San Bernardino County, located about 70 miles east of LA, officials issued evacuation alerts for several mountain communities.
Nevada Gov. Joe Lombardo announced late Friday that 100 National Guard troops had been activated ahead of Hilary. He declared a state of emergency Sunday.
The San Diego Padres, Los Angeles Dodgers and Los Angeles Angels all had home games scheduled for Sunday. However, those games were shifted to Saturday double-headers in anticipation of the storm.
Capistrano Beach in the Orange County city of Dana Point Friday was one of several where crews built berms to protect the coastal community from high surf.
"We're getting ready now ahead of this event as it makes landfall to make sure we're prepared," said Chris Dargan, a spokesperson for California Governor's Office of Emergency Services.

Great atmosphere and great stylist who are super professional and know what they are doing. It's a super cute salon in downtown and you will not regret getting your hair done there. I got see micheline Arlia who is amazing but either lady you go see will not disappoint! Go in and see for yourself, you will walk out happy and satisfied!
My color was truly awful, but it was not done by the owner, and the owner offered to fix it AND return the money paid. Good points for doing their best to make everything better.
Took my daughter in to fix a jacked hair cut. My DD's hair is funny, straight on top with cute curls underneath. Jennifer cut her hair with some cute but not drastic layers, sent us home with clips and a sample of some curl revitalizer and we are good to go! My DD is a not a fussy girl, she doesn't like to mess, but she likes her hair so much she is more likely to let me "fix" it each day! Great price for a kids haircut too, only a few more dollars than the place that jacked her hair up in the first place!
After reading the reviews here, I decided to try Jennifer. It took a little while for me to hear from her after my message, but I'm glad I waited. She listened to what I said about what I wanted to do (I'm growing it out for charity and have to keep it long). She gave me some advice about coloring my hair at home, which a lot of stylist won't do. She is the only one that takes CC/Debit cards for services (you can buy product and use a card with other stylists) and didn't realize I couldn't add in my tip. She said no problem, get me next time. What person is going to do that? She did a great job and my hair looked super silky and the style lasted 2 days! I'll be back, with both tips in hand this time!
The owner of the salon, Jennifer Cavanaugh, cuts great hair at a very reasonable price. Coloring jobs are also very reasonable. Why drive up to San Jose for an overpriced hair cut when you can get the good stuff in town at a good price?
I have been going to Jennifer the owner for 16 years and hope she never retires! She is always trying new products and keeping up to date with hairstyles/latest coloring techniques. She is so personable and gives you the attention you need. Place is clean and has changed over the years with new decor and upgrades. She does have a busy schedule because so many go to her but worth it!
First time going to this salon and went to Molly and she did an incredible job on my highlights and layered cut! Really listens to what you want and is easy to talk to. So happy with my hair, Thank you Molly! Would definitely recommend this place. :)
By far the best salon in Morgan Hill! Ask for Jennifer when you go, she's excellent! Prices are very reasonable and she does an awesome job. Her coloring is great. I highly recommend this salon!
My haircolor was orange, but not done by Jennifer. I was told it must be my hair. I was told I could come back 5 days later so she could correct it. I went home, but decided I could not wear a hat for 5 days and insisted she fix it the next day. The color still was not right and I also got a bad haircut, cutting my bangs too choppy and way too short despite the picture I brought. In my opinion, if she would stop gossiping and talking with the women she worked with for 5 min and actually looked at what she was doing, she would be much better at her job.Only takes cash and check.
We were visiting from out of town and owner Jennifer did a beautiful job on my daughter's prom up-do. She is talented, meticulous and aims to please. Our first visit to Safari Salon was a pleasure.
I have been going to this salon for over 13 years and Jennifer (the owner) is the best! Her coloring is fantastic and I always get complimented everytime I try something new. Her haircuts are always excellent and I think the salon is a gem.
