Take your students to a classroom with an ocean view!
They’ll walk in awe across Shark Walk, explore Atlantic Coasts, discover Ray Lagoon, stroll through an ocean tunnel and be dazzled by the UK’s largest living coral reef.
And that’s not all. SEA LIFE London Aquarium offers even more zones to explore, including Rainforest Adventure, Seahorse Kingdom and Conservation Cove.
SEA LIFE offers a variety of creature talks daily (times, locations and subject matter may vary). Find out what a penguin eats for breakfast, or why the ominous-looking Sand Tiger Shark is often referred to as the Labrador of the sea.
How does the trip link to the curriculum?
A visit to SEA LIFE London Aquarium is your chance to bring science and geography curriculum learning to life. Students will gain a new perspective on the importance of conservation as they get up close to the wonders of marine habitats and encounter some of the world’s most fascinating sea creatures at SEA LIFE.
KS1–KS4 learning outcomes include:
Geography • To identify the different habitats of the world, focusing on oceans and rainforests.
Science • To understand that animals have different adaptations to survive in their habitats. • To define and understand the terms ‘habitat’, ‘micro-habitat’, ‘life-cycle’ and ‘eco-system’. • To use classification keys to help group, identify and name a variety of living things. • To recognise that environments can change and that this can pose dangers to living things.

Free curriculum-linked lesson resources are ready to download and use as pre- and post-visit activities, designed to prepare students for their visit and embed learning.
Ocean Conservation These lessons will encourage students to appreciate the importance of protecting our oceans, raise awareness of their own relationship with the ocean and appreciate how their daily actions can positively or negatively affect the marine environment.
The Natural World These lessons will support students in identifying “creature features”, understanding creatures’ needs, and explore ocean, river and even rainforest habitats – making some new, colourful, and incredible friends along the way!

- Toilets can be found in three separate places through SEA LIFE London: at the entrance after the security check, before the lifts; at the end of your rainforest adventure; and after the polar area, just before entering the jellyfish area.

Travel arrangements
The nearest tube stations are Westminster and Waterloo. The nearest train station is London Waterloo. Charing Cross train station is also near to SEA LIFE London Aquarium.
There are many bus services that stop within walking distance of the Aquarium.
Complimentary drop-off and pick-up spaces are available on Belvedere Road. You have 20 minutes to drop off and 20 minutes to pick up your group.

Situated on South Bank this fantastic attraction is home to over 1500 aquatic creatures whose origins span the globe. Students can understand the delicate eco-systems and food chains of the ocean and get to know the fascinating marine life up close with learning experiences throughout the aquarium. Not only does this fantastic location offer a great visit but this can also be tailored to your group, making the very most of their time there.

A schools ticket for SEA LIFE London Aquarium will include access to an underwater adventure spanning 3 floors. It will also include the chance to interact with staff members conducting various stations, talks and feeds. You can adapt your schools visit to include an educational workshop, however this will incur an additional charge per pupil.
