Mathraki is one of the smallest Diapontia Islands, visible from Sidari and Arillas.

Full Description

Our blue water adventure will start from San George Beach continuing north west, with our first stop Porto Timoni double bay, staying approximately 30min, then going to the small island Diaplo, spending a little time for swimming and cliff diving, continuing on to untouched Mathraki island for 1h 40m , there you can spend time on a beautiful quiet sandy beach and have lunch at a local Taverna, after we will start making our way back, stopping at Paleokastritsa coast lin, Twins beach for a swim in crystal clear waters or just chill on the beach for 30min!

Looking at the pictures it should have been.....They took a booking from an agency in Roda, who were great, but on the arranged day failed to pick us up. When we rang they claimed the boat was damaged and couldn't go today. If that was the case why didn't they inform the agency or myself? Couldn't even be bothered to apologise. Highly recommended A great trip, Shame there was not enough wind to really sail. But relaxed friendly small group on a boat! We done self hire days before, but wanted someone else to be in charge. We were collected from our Village at Agios Gordios and driven to Gouvia Marina, there we boarded the boat, 3 English, 3 American, 2 German, 2 Italian and a Romanian - so a lovely eclectic mix of nice people. The boat is a nice sailing yacht with space to sit in both shade and sun (and inside but who needs that!). We went north up the coast for 3 stops to swim, and at the middle stop had sandwiches and crisps and fruit (vegetarian catered with cheese sandwiches on a separate plate) and soft drinks or beers/wine. A shot of Raki at the third stop was a nice addition too (for some!) I think this is a new company and I highly recommend, my 20 something daughters didn’t want a party boat with their mum, and I didn’t want a larger ‘ferry’ type cruise. We had 5 hours on the boat 2-7pm and it cost €60 a head. My only comment is that they only offer one soft or alcoholic drink free, not saying it should be unlimited alcohol but maybe at that price soft drinks and water should be included. It was so good that we took 2 trips - one sailing day, one power boat day & both were fabulous! I’ll review both here, so if you are interested in a particular type of trip, scroll down to find it, but common to both trips, here are some helpful pointers: 1) these trips would be suitable for older teenage children accompanied by an adult, up to a fit & spritely older person, but would NOT be suitable for small children 2) you need to be fit and able to board the boats by plank and swim-ladder, so not at all suitable for those with injuries or mobility issues 3) to get the most from these trips you should be a confident swimmer as you will be stopping to swim in (beautiful) open water coves and remote islands - wear your swimsuit/costume & have clothes to cover you to keep the sun off/go ashore. SAILING DAY: we were collected from our resort & driven to the very swish Gouvia Marina, where we joined our friendly, accommodating & very competent Skipper - Nikolas, on a 45 foot Jenneau. From Gouvia, we sailed North, taking in 3 beautiful coves for swimming, and a catered lunch of sandwich & fruit. There is water for free & softdrinks/wine/beer to purchase, so bring cash. Nikolas went out of his way to look after us (we’re vegetarian) and he kindly made us a separate plate of sandwiches. My husband is a sailor, so Nikolas was very happy to let him helm the boat, which was the highlight of my husband’s holiday! For this trip there is a toilet onboard, and room to change. On this trip there was a total of 11 onboard including the 2 crew. Tone- relaxing and utterly chilled out. POWERBOAT DAY: For this day we were also collected from our resort by the charming Artemis, and driven to the beach at Agios Georgios, where we waded in to climb aboard one of 3 powerboats (2 speedboats & a high-speed rib) doing the day’s Sea Safari. Nikolas was the lead Skipper in charge of the day, but our boat was Skippered by the fun & energetic Leonidas (with Artemis joining us). From Agios Georgios we travelled north, planing over the waves, often at full throttle, with the 3 boats duelling for first place! We stopped to swim in various coves (including one called very aptly - Paradise), out at sea at a deserted island called Diablo where you swim in a channel carved by the waves through solid sandstone giving the impression of a lunar landscape, and at a small inhabited island (where you stop at a Taverna for lunch - bring cash to buy lunch or a drink). For this trip note that the boats have no toilet facilities, no refreshments onboard (so bring water) and no place to change as they are small. On this trip our boat had 6 onboard including 2 crew - the other boats had about 10 onboard. Tone - adrenalin-filled speed, combined with breath-taking remote exploring/swimming - note that you WILL get wet. OVERALL: Corfu Adventures is a small family-run company who go above & beyond to look after their guests. This is an ideal day out for a special occasion & in particular, if someone was looking for an Instagramable opportunity to propose to their girlfriend/boyfriend, then this would be the company to contact. There are some incredible locations which they visit and the lovely crew would be only too happy to help you make your day special, just call them to let them in on your secret and they would be delighted to make it happen for you. Fresh sandwiches crisps and fruit platter were provided along with soft drinks, wine or cold beer. 5 hour sailing from 2pm to 7pm. 3 stops with opportunities to swim. Skippers were fantastic, very knowledgeable, chatty and sorry, has to be said...very easy on the eye! Would feel sorry for these boys in high season with a boatful of young girls! Lol! That said they were so accommodating, friendly and could not do enough to make your day as good as possible. Thanks to Nikki wo very kindly drove u back to our hotel afterwards. Additional information, with the speedboat to beaches on the cliffs and small neighboring islands.

The steep coast in the west of Corfu and the many small offshore islets offer unique beaches that can only be reached from the water. Spend a lazy day in a small group in the shimmering turquoise waters.

Alternately you drive to pebble beaches with crystal clear water and fine sandy bays.

Among other things, you will come to Porto Timoni, the twin bays, a beach with water from two sides and to the rocky islet of Diapoulo, which is ideal for snorkeling. Around noon you cross over to Mathraki, one of the three Diapontic Islands, and spend the time there on a sandy beach and stop together in a rustic tavern (food not included, payable locally).

On the way back you can jump into the cool water directly from the boat below the castle of Angelokastro.

All in all, a varied and exclusive bathing day.

Sea Safari in Corfu Description

This 6-hour boat excursion will depart from Saint George Pagoi , where you will start admiring the beautiful bay from the sea.

Sailing northwest, our first stop will be at Porto Timoni double bay, where we will stop for 40 minutes to enjoy swimming and sunbathing.

Then, we will continue sailing to Diapolo Island, spending a little time swimming and cliff diving in this small islet visible from Arillas and Saint Stefanos NW. In the old times, it used to be known as Gaidouronisi, which means “Donkey Island”,  because of the big number of donkeys that used to live here. Today, wild goats are the only inhabitants of this small islet formed by stout huge rocks.

After swimming and cliff diving on Diapolo Island, we will continue on to the almost untouched Mathraki Island. There you will have free time on a beautiful quiet sandy beach and visit a local fisherman’s tavern for lunch (not included), or do a picnic on the beach!

On our way back, we will stop at the twin beach for a swim in crystal clear waters or just chill on the beach.

We went on the paxos parga cruise. We had a great time and it was well worth the money. Parga was absolutely gorgeous and l can recommend the captains bar on the sea front for a cold drink, or something to eat. As their prices, are very reasonable.

Looking at the pictures it should have been.....They took a booking from an agency in Roda, who were great, but on the arranged day failed to pick us up. When we rang they claimed the boat was damaged and couldn't go today. If that was the case why didn't they inform the agency or myself? Couldn't even be bothered to apologise. Highly recommended A great trip, Shame there was not enough wind to really sail. But relaxed friendly small group on a boat! We done self hire days before, but wanted someone else to be in charge. We were collected from our Village at Agios Gordios and driven to Gouvia Marina, there we boarded the boat, 3 English, 3 American, 2 German, 2 Italian and a Romanian - so a lovely eclectic mix of nice people. The boat is a nice sailing yacht with space to sit in both shade and sun (and inside but who needs that!). We went north up the coast for 3 stops to swim, and at the middle stop had sandwiches and crisps and fruit (vegetarian catered with cheese sandwiches on a separate plate) and soft drinks or beers/wine. A shot of Raki at the third stop was a nice addition too (for some!) I think this is a new company and I highly recommend, my 20 something daughters didn’t want a party boat with their mum, and I didn’t want a larger ‘ferry’ type cruise. We had 5 hours on the boat 2-7pm and it cost €60 a head. My only comment is that they only offer one soft or alcoholic drink free, not saying it should be unlimited alcohol but maybe at that price soft drinks and water should be included. It was so good that we took 2 trips - one sailing day, one power boat day & both were fabulous! I’ll review both here, so if you are interested in a particular type of trip, scroll down to find it, but common to both trips, here are some helpful pointers: 1) these trips would be suitable for older teenage children accompanied by an adult, up to a fit & spritely older person, but would NOT be suitable for small children 2) you need to be fit and able to board the boats by plank and swim-ladder, so not at all suitable for those with injuries or mobility issues 3) to get the most from these trips you should be a confident swimmer as you will be stopping to swim in (beautiful) open water coves and remote islands - wear your swimsuit/costume & have clothes to cover you to keep the sun off/go ashore. SAILING DAY: we were collected from our resort & driven to the very swish Gouvia Marina, where we joined our friendly, accommodating & very competent Skipper - Nikolas, on a 45 foot Jenneau. From Gouvia, we sailed North, taking in 3 beautiful coves for swimming, and a catered lunch of sandwich & fruit. There is water for free & softdrinks/wine/beer to purchase, so bring cash. Nikolas went out of his way to look after us (we’re vegetarian) and he kindly made us a separate plate of sandwiches. My husband is a sailor, so Nikolas was very happy to let him helm the boat, which was the highlight of my husband’s holiday! For this trip there is a toilet onboard, and room to change. On this trip there was a total of 11 onboard including the 2 crew. Tone- relaxing and utterly chilled out. POWERBOAT DAY: For this day we were also collected from our resort by the charming Artemis, and driven to the beach at Agios Georgios, where we waded in to climb aboard one of 3 powerboats (2 speedboats & a high-speed rib) doing the day’s Sea Safari. Nikolas was the lead Skipper in charge of the day, but our boat was Skippered by the fun & energetic Leonidas (with Artemis joining us). From Agios Georgios we travelled north, planing over the waves, often at full throttle, with the 3 boats duelling for first place! We stopped to swim in various coves (including one called very aptly - Paradise), out at sea at a deserted island called Diablo where you swim in a channel carved by the waves through solid sandstone giving the impression of a lunar landscape, and at a small inhabited island (where you stop at a Taverna for lunch - bring cash to buy lunch or a drink). For this trip note that the boats have no toilet facilities, no refreshments onboard (so bring water) and no place to change as they are small. On this trip our boat had 6 onboard including 2 crew - the other boats had about 10 onboard. Tone - adrenalin-filled speed, combined with breath-taking remote exploring/swimming - note that you WILL get wet. OVERALL: Corfu Adventures is a small family-run company who go above & beyond to look after their guests. This is an ideal day out for a special occasion & in particular, if someone was looking for an Instagramable opportunity to propose to their girlfriend/boyfriend, then this would be the company to contact. There are some incredible locations which they visit and the lovely crew would be only too happy to help you make your day special, just call them to let them in on your secret and they would be delighted to make it happen for you. Fresh sandwiches crisps and fruit platter were provided along with soft drinks, wine or cold beer. 5 hour sailing from 2pm to 7pm. 3 stops with opportunities to swim. Skippers were fantastic, very knowledgeable, chatty and sorry, has to be said...very easy on the eye! Would feel sorry for these boys in high season with a boatful of young girls! Lol! That said they were so accommodating, friendly and could not do enough to make your day as good as possible. Thanks to Nikki wo very kindly drove u back to our hotel afterwards.
