Six New Tauck River Cruise Itineraries Added for 2024 in Europe

What’s new in European touring? Well, many travelers will be excited to hear about six new Tauck river cruise itineraries for 2024. That’s the most Tauck has ever added in a single year on the continent.

( Tauck’s Esprit is featured above; it will operate two of the new itineraries. Photo by Tauck. )

“We’re absolutely thrilled to be expanding our river cruise offerings in such an unprecedented way, with exciting new itineraries that will appeal to our loyal past guests and new travelers alike,” says Dan Mahar , Tauck’s CEO.

New Tauck Itineraries: Included Pre- or Post-Cruise Stays

One big perk is that several of the new offerings include (within the tour price itself) a pre- or post-cruise hotel stay in new-to-Tauck cities. Among those are Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany, and Montreux and Geneva, Switzerland.

So, Tauck’s guests will enjoy a pampering hotel stay at such wonderful properties as these:

  • The Fairmont Le Montreux Palace , Montreux, Switzerland.
  • The Riessersee Hotel in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany.
  • The InterContinental Geneve in Geneva, Switzerland.

New Tauck “Included” Dinners Ashore

The Meandering Traveler is also enticed by several other inclusions within the tour pricing. Among those is an included dinner ashore in a lavish setting.

So, get ready to enjoy a lavish dinner in an elegant Viennese palace or a Dutch castle nestled on its own private island. Now, that’s something special!

Alternatively, you might go to dinner in an Italian Renaissance-style mansion in a small commune in northern France.

Palais Pallavicini

Featured on Tauck’s new 12-day “ Danube Kingdoms: Bavaria, Austria and Hungary ” itinerary is the Palais Pallavicini in Vienna, Austria. Constructed in 1784, it has served as home to the Pallavicini family for more than 180 years.

Tauck’s guests will enjoy an exclusive evening at  Palais Pallavicini  that includes a reception, gala dinner and classical music played by performers dressed in period clothing.

They’ll “wine and dine” in a palace that has hosted such luminaries as composers Ludwig van Beethoven and Franz Schubert. The palace also served as a major filming location for the classic 1934 film “ The Thin Man .”

Operated from Munich, Germany, to Budapest, Hungary, the new “Danube Kingdoms: Bavaria, Austria and Hungary” itinerary includes a four-night, land-based exploration of Bavaria. Guests will stay in hotels in Munich and Partenkirchen, plus enjoy a seven-night cruise along the Danube River.

They’ll have opportunities to explore Passau, Germany; Linz, Salzkammergut, Melk and Vienna, Austria; Cesky Krumlov, the Czech Republic; Bratislava, Slovakia; and Budapest.

This Tauck river cruise is operated by the 130-passenger Savor or 130-passenger Joy. Pricing is from $6,990 per person, double occupancy (plus airfare).

Dwight D. Eisenhower’s Former Home

Guests on Tauck’s new 10-day “ Three Rivers: Danube, Main & Rhine ” cruise, priced from $5,990 per person, double occupancy (plus airfare), will be treated to an evening at the 130-year-old Schlosshotel Kronberg .

So, what’s that? Well, first, it’s the former residence of German Empress Victoria Friedrich . But there’s also a pretty interesting U.S. connection.

Tauck's Savor is shown in Wurzburg, Germany. Photo courtesy of Tauck.

Schlosshotel Kronberg housed a U.S. Army officers club during the post-World War II occupation of Germany. Most notably, it was the temporary home of General Dwight D. Eisenhower for a seven-year, post-war period.

Interesting factoid? During Eisenhower’s post-war time there, he designed the on-site, 18-hole golf course. Yes, it’s still in use today.

Today, Schlosshotel Kronberg , which was built between 1889 and 1893, is operated by the royal House of Hesse as a luxury hotel, set amid parkland.

Operated by either Savor or Joy from Amsterdam to Budapest, the “Three Rivers: Danube, Main and Rhine” itinerary features these ports of call:

  • Amsterdam and Nijmegen, the Netherlands.
  • Koln (Cologne), Bonn, Koblenz, Boppard, Frankfurt, Wertheim, Marktheidenfeld, Wurzburg , Bayreuth, Nuremberg and Regensburg, all in Germany.

New Tauck Food-and-Drink Experiences

But there’s much more! Those special evening dinners aren’t the only unique food and drink-related experiences.

Depending on the specific itinerary, Tauck’s guests might also enjoy lunch at the summit of the Zugspitze . That’s Germany’s highest peak at nearly 10,000 feet.

Other lunch opportunities could include historic Weltenberg Abbey near Regensburg, and at a private Camargue region ranch in the south of France.

Tasting tours are also on tap in a number of cities and towns, including Frankfurt, Germany, and Strasbourg and Chalon-Sur-Saône, France. Tauck’s guests will also have an opportunity to quench their thirsts with these fun options:

  • Wine tastings in Burgundy and the Lavaux region of Switzerland.
  • A craft beer tour in Dusseldorf.
  • A brewery tour in Antwerp.
  • A tasting of local brandies and apple ciders in Normandy.

Special Access, Memorable Moments

In addition, special access and memorable moments crafted for Tauck guests extend beyond the food-and-wine experiences.

For example, guests might enjoy early “pre-opening” admission to the home, gardens and studio  of Impressionist painter Claude Monet in Giverny, France. Elsewhere, Tauck’s guests might head out on a guided excursion into the rock-cut tunnels beneath Nuremberg, Germany .

Peak Walk by Tissot is a daring activity for Tauck guests on a new itinerary in Europe. Photo courtesy of Tauck.

Ready for some thrills? Totally optional, but those seeking a daring eco-adventure might hang on tight and stroll across the Peak Walk by Tissot ( see photo courtesy of Tauck above ).

It’s a high-altitude suspension bridge connecting two Swiss peaks. Get ready for stunningly gorgeous Alps views of the famous Matterhorn, Mont-Blanc and Jungfrau. Adventurous guests who complete the stroll will have some serious “bragging rights” with friends and family back home!

Inclusive Vacation, Excellent Value

All of Tauck’s  special dining-and-tasting experiences are included in the price of the company’s river cruises. The cruise fare also covers all shore excursions, gratuities, onboard beverages (including all beer, wine and spirits), airport transfers, luggage handling and more.

Tauck’s full portfolio of 2024 river cruises is available on the company’s website.   To assist, a personal travel planner will gladly answer any questions and provide more information, based on your specific needs, budget and desires. Why not call today?

Here’s a brief snapshot of the other four new Tauck river itineraries in Europe for 2024:

New Tauck: “Rhine Connoisseur: Montreux to Brussels”

This 11-day itinerary operates between Montreux, Switzerland, and Brussels, Belgium . Guests begin with a three-night stay at the Fairmont Montreux Palace. That will allow them to explore the Lavaux Vineyards, Montreux and Glacier 3000.

A subsequent seven-night cruise visits  Strasbourg, France ; Rudesheim, Koblenz and Dusseldorf, Germany, along the Rhine. Then guests will travel to Gorinchem, the Netherlands, and Antwerp and Brussels, Belgium.

Slot Loevestein. Photo courtesy of Tauck.

A Tauck-exclusive reception and dinner event is planned at the 14th-century Slot Loevestein, set in a nature reserve on a private island.  L ocated in Poederoijen, the Netherlands, it has served as a residence, prison and toll station.

This “Rhine Connoisseur: Montreux to Brussels” vacation, is operated by either the 98-passenger Esprit or the 98-passenger Treasures. At press time, prices started at $6,790 per person, double occupancy, plus airfare.

New Tauck: “Hidden Waterways of Flanders and Holland”

Operated between Brussels and Amsterdam, this eight-day journey by Esprit will visit scenic Dutch and Belgium spots including Brussels, Antwerp, Bruges, Gorinchem, Leiden, Rotterdam and Amsterdam.

On this “ Hidden Waterways of Flanders and Holland ” itinerary, guests also will be treated to that Tauck-exclusive reception and dinner at Slot Loevestein ( as mentioned above ).

This new Tauck itinerary is priced from $4,690 per person, double occupancy, (at press time), plus airfare. Talk with your travel advisor for more details.

New Tauck: “River Seine: Chateaux, Impressionism and Normandy”

Spanning eight days, this journey begins and ends near Paris, France, at Le Pecq.  The river itinerary will visit Auvers-sur-Oise, Les Andelys, Tilly, Mont-Saint-Michel, Etretat, Honfleur, the D-Day Beaches of Normandy , Rouen, Le Pecq and Giverny. At the latter, Tauck’s guests will enjoy exclusive, early-entry admission to Impressionist painter Claude Monet’s home and gardens.

Another highlight (in timing) is that 2024 is the 80th anniversary of World War II’s D-Day Landings. So, it’s a poignant time to travel, particularly for some families whose relative landed on a Normandy beach in 1944.

Tauck’s guests will enjoy a private evening with a tour, dinner and music at the 1530-era Chateau du Taillis . Set on a parkland estate in Duclair, France, this Italian Renaissance mansion features baroque interiors. It’s a brilliant architectural showcase.

The new “ River Seine: Chateaux, Impressionism and Normandy ” itinerary, with cruising on the 98-passenger Sapphire is priced from $4,990 per person, double occupancy, (at press time) plus airfare.

New Tauck: “La Belle Vie: The Rhone, Geneva and The Riviera”

Operating from Cannes to Geneva (or reverse), this 14-day itinerary includes a nine-night river cruise on the 98-passenger Emerald along the Rhone River. That’s nicely bookended by two, two-night hotel stays with guided Tauck sightseeing in Cannes, France, and Geneva, Switzerland.

Along the way, guests will experience Aix-en-Provence, Arles, La Camargue, Avignon, Uzes, St-Remy, Chateauneuf-du-Pape, Tain l’Hermitage, Macon, Cluny, Chalon-sur-Saone, Beaune, Tournus, Cormatin and Lyon, all in France.

One highlight? Tauck’s guests will set out for an exclusive evening at Duche d’Uzes featuring a private tour, dinner and cocktails. The family castle of the Duke of Uzes, the home was once the site of a Roman governor’s residence and the haven of an exiled 9th-century duchess.

This “ La Belle Vie: The Rhone, Geneva and The Riviera ” itinerary is priced from $7,990 per person, double occupancy, plus airfare.

Early opening visit to Impressionist artist Claude Monet's house and gardens at Giverny

Visit a farm along Normandy's Cider Route to taste the region's elegantly crafted apple ciders and calvados, and see how they're made; in Normandy, cider is an art, like winemaking, centuries old

TAUCK VALUE INCLUDES

Tauck's private shore excursions and distinctive inclusions valued at $2,788

Excursion from Paris to Louis XIV's opulent Château de Versailles

Visit to the D-Day Beaches and American Cemetery overlooking Omaha Beach

SEE WHAT YOUR JOURNEY INCLUDES

Guests should be able to easily walk one to two miles, which may include climbing one or two flights of stairs and walking over uneven pavement, groomed hiking trails or cobblestones. Standing up to one hour or more may be required.

Moderately paced, and may include some early morning hotel departures, one or two on-tour flights, and extended motor coach travel.

Exclusively inclusive river cruising

Your Parisian rhapsody... flows through the heart of the city of l'amour, meanders through painted landscapes and flowers with romance in seaside villages and exquisite gardens along the Seine...

Impressions of France... rendered on canvas within famed art or quickly captured by street artists in Montmartre, gilded into a golden palace at Versailles, indulged during a château dinner, distilled into apple brandy and cider, carved into a clifftop castle, and floating in a Water Garden... linger long after you return home. Follow the Seine to coastal Normandy on a 10-day journey that's sure to impress. Discover the art of Paris for two nights before a 7-night cruise to Rouen, Honfleur and Giverny, immortalized by Impressionist artists. Visit D-Day beaches, sample Calvados where it is made, dine at a private château and more before returning to Paris via riverboat.

Paris to Normandy – The River Seine

Tauck exclusive – early-opening at monet's giverny, discovering monet on an early-opening visit to his home and gardens in giverny.

Impressionist master Claude Monet arranged the compositions of his garden landscapes often by rearranging his garden. It was, after all, his outdoor studio. And since it's carefully maintained to look like it did during the painter's lifetime, you can sense what it was like to be present at the moment when life became art. Observe his water lilies in a book or a print – or even better, on canvas at the Musée de l'Orangerie in Paris – then experience them firsthand, where art becomes life, at his restored home and gardens in Giverny... where you'll enjoy a Tauck Exclusive early-opening visit to this remarkable place before the normal daily crowds appear.

A private evening at Château du Taillis

Enjoying the pleasures of normandy with a private evening at château du taillis.

Prepare to be pampered during an evening of finery and fun at a grand 16th-century Renaissance château set on a park-like estate in the Normandy countryside not far from the Seine. Built in 1530 atop the foundation of a fortified 13th-century castle, the Château du Taillis boasts a 300-year medley of architectural styles that reflect the tastes and times of its owners. Today, you'll own the night at the château as you are feted at a private reception and dinner inside its opulent ballroom, music playing.

This was my first international trip and Paris was at the top of my "bucket list." Tauck provided the absolute trip of a lifetime with more than outstanding service!

About Booking This Tour

Travel Documents

If you are a U.S. citizen traveling internationally, you will need a passport valid for six months beyond the completion of your Tauck journey for entry into France. You do not need a visa for the short duration of this journey.

If you are a citizen of another country traveling internationally, you should contact a French consulate or embassy to determine what travel documentation is required.

Please Note: Longer stays abroad for any purpose may require additional travel documentation.

We recommend that you make at least two photocopies of all the travel documents that you bring with you. Include copies of the photo page of your passport that contains the date of issuance, the date of expiration and your citizenship. Secure one set of copies in the safe in your room while traveling and leave one set behind with someone at home who will assist you in the event your documents are misplaced, lost or stolen.

To facilitate Travel Requirements, destinations are increasingly utilizing online forms that require digital proof that you've successfully completed your submission (via an email, QR code, etc.) To ensure smooth travels and peace of mind, we strongly recommend all guests carry a personal smart phone and sign up for international data plans before traveling overseas.

TRAVELING WITH CHILDREN AS A GUARDIAN: If you are traveling as the guardian of a child/children, we strongly suggest that you carry a letter from both parents of the child authorizing emergency treatment in the event of illness or accident. For travel abroad, many foreign countries have specific entry requirements for children under 21 who are traveling internationally without BOTH parents. (These requirements are in response to the increased incidence of children being abducted and taken abroad.) PLEASE NOTE THAT TAUCK IS NOT RESPONSIBLE for the disruption of travel caused by improper documentation for children traveling without both parents.

Travel Requirements For This Tour

Air Information and Luggage Restrictions

AIRFARE: Airfare to and from this destination is not included in the journey cost. If purchasing your air elsewhere, it is very important to provide us with your confirmed arriving and departing flight information no later than 3 weeks before your arrival date. Flight information can be submitted to Tauck (or verified, if you've already provided it) in the My Account section of Tauck.com.

TAUCK AIRPORT TRANSFERS are included at the start and end of the journey between the airport and the Tauck riverboat. Airport transfers are available for any pre tour or post tour hotel stays immediately consecutive to the tour, providing flight information is received in the Tauck office no later than three weeks in advance. Details on locating your transfer upon arrival to the tour start city will be included in your final documents.

AIRLINES and CHECKED LUGGAGE: Due to space limitations during your Tauck journey, we ask that you please limit your checked luggage to one average-size suitcase per person. Besides complying with the Tauck restriction noted above, you should also be sure to research and comply with all airline baggage restrictions relating to your flights to and from your Tauck journey. Airlines have become much more strict in enforcing size and weight limits in recent years, and are free to revise luggage policies without notice. Researching and complying with airline luggage restrictions is the responsibility of the guest, and Tauck cannot be held responsible for any costs or disruptions to travel caused by the failure to research and comply with airline policies. PLEASE NOTE that if you are booked on a tour that includes on-tour flights, the checked luggage weight restrictions for these flights may be lower than the weight restrictions for your international flights.

Checked Luggage

Due to space restrictions, we ask that you please limit your checked luggage to one suitcase per person weighing no more than 50 pounds (23 kg) and with overall dimensions (length + width + height) not exceeding 62 inches (158 cm).

Besides complying with the Tauck restriction noted above, you should also be sure to research and comply with all airline baggage restrictions relating to your flights to and from your Tauck journey. Airlines have become much more strict in enforcing size and weight limits in recent years, and luggage exceeding airline standards for size or weight may result in expensive overage fees or other consequences.

Airlines are free to revise luggage policies without notice, and certain airlines have different baggage allowances for different classes of service. Researching and complying with airline luggage restrictions is the responsibility of the guest, and Tauck cannot be held responsible for any costs or disruptions to travel caused by the failure to research and comply with airline policies.

Tauck luggage tags will be provided by your Tauck Director on Day 1 of your itinerary. Please do not attach a Tauck luggage tag to any carry-on items, as the Tauck tags designate luggage that is to be handled and transferred by ground operators and hotel staff during your journey.

Carry-on Luggage - General

Although oversize bags and wheeled, carry-on luggage are popular for airline travel, they are often not convenient or appropriate for motor coach travel or for many on-tour flights. Most modern sightseeing motor coaches offer limited space for numerous or larger items. Space under seats or in the overhead rack is typically small, and designed to accommodate items like coats, hats, purses, and small camera bags, etc.

For your day-to-day travel while on tour, we recommend that you limit your hand luggage to a small, soft-sided carry-on piece, and that you bring only those items you need handy during the day such as make-up, medications, cameras, film, etc. Items too large to fit under the motor coach seat or on the overhead rack must be stored in the luggage bays beneath the motor coach, and may be inaccessible during daytime travel.

Health, Safety and Mobility

HEALTH CONSIDERATIONS

Because you will be cruising on a river and not on the open sea, you are never far from land and, therefore, there is no doctor onboard the riverboat. In case of emergency, we can easily dock the boat and call for an ambulance or medical assistance.

If you have a medical condition that might limit your participation in activities, please consult your physician for pre-departure health advice and notify us as soon as possible, if you have not already done so. We will advise your Tauck Director accordingly.

The riverboat is registered in Basel, Switzerland. Please check with your health insurance provider to determine whether you are covered while traveling. If you will not be covered under your current policy, we strongly suggest that you arrange for adequate coverage while on tour.

VACCINATIONS

If you are a resident of the U.S., please contact your physician, the public health service in your area, or the U.S. Centers for Disease Control to obtain information regarding vaccinations that may be required for your journey. You may also log on to the CDC website by clicking here .

If you are a resident of another country , please contact a French embassy or consulate to determine what vaccinations may be required for you to visit.

To enjoy this cruise, you should be in good health and able to walk reasonable distances, often over unpaved and uneven surfaces. Some of the most memorable sightseeing can only be accomplished on foot. The amount of walking you do, however, is at your discretion.

The riverboat has four decks: Emerald, Ruby, Diamond and Sun. The elevator runs between the Diamond Deck and the Dining room, which includes stops at the Lounge and the Ruby Deck. There is no chair lift between any of the decks.

On the Emerald deck, you will find a Fitness & Massage Center on board. The Fitness Center is complimentary and includes a limited variety of fitness equipment such as treadmills, stationary cycling machines and free weights. Massages are available for a fee in a private room off of the Fitness center. The water on board the ship is potable and complimentary bottled water is placed in your cabin each day. We also provide bottled water on the motor coaches.

PLEASE NOTE: We regret that this Tauck itinerary cannot accommodate wheelchairs or motorized scooters.  Likewise, we regret that we're unable to provide individual assistance to guests with walking difficulties or other personal needs.  The responsibility of the Tauck Director who accompanies your trip is to ensure that the larger group enjoys a relaxing and informative journey, and he or she cannot be relied upon to provide ongoing individual assistance to any one guest.  Guests requiring such individualized assistance must be accompanied by an able-bodied companion who can provide it.

Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate service animals on any river cruise for medical and legal reasons.

SPECIAL DIETARY REQUESTS

The restaurants, hotels, caterers and numerous other partners we work with all do their best to accommodate special dietary requests from Tauck guests. However, given the diverse nature of those food providers (from small wineries to grand hotels to world-famous restaurants in more than 70 countries worldwide), some of our partners are better able than others to accommodate such requests. We therefore cannot guarantee that all dietary requests can be accommodated at every meal. Also, please note that where dietary requests can be accommodated, choices will frequently be limited.

On board the riverboat, smoking is permitted in a limited area of the Sun deck. Smoking (including e-Cigarettes) is not permitted in any cabin, the restaurant, the lounge or any other interior space.

Reading List

We have compiled a reading list of recommended books to give you more information about the destinations you will be traveling to on your upcoming journey!

You can view the reading list  here.

What To Pack

Bringing the right clothing for your trip is important – we've partnered with Necessary Gear who provide an "easy-to-use, one-stop shop" for your Tauck travel needs, specifically selected for this trip. Click here to visit their site .

Your journey is designed with leisure in mind. Dress for comfort and convenience with a wardrobe that is adaptable and allows for layering. Generally, during the day, casual, comfortable, cotton clothing is recommended. Cool weather at higher elevations or at night will require warmer, layered clothing.

During evenings aboard the riverboat, dress is resort casual.  Items such as slacks and collared shirts are appropriate for men.  For women, slacks, a dress or a skirt and blouse are suitable.  For dinner and throughout the evening, guests should refrain from wearing shorts, t-shirts, flip-flops or sneakers.  Your journey also includes one or two special occasion dinners, where a sport coat and tie for gentlemen and a dress/pantsuit for ladies are suggested.  (Your Tauck Director will advise you prior to those evenings.)

Valet laundry service is available at the hotel and on the riverboat for a fee. There is no valet dry cleaning available on the riverboat. Ironing facilities are available on the riverboat by request to the front desk. Category 7 cabins feature their own irons and ironing boards. For other cabins, they are available by request from Reception.

We recommend that you pack an adequate supply of your prescription medication in its original container to last through your entire journey, together with a copy of your doctor's prescription or a letter from your health-care provider on office stationery explaining that the medication has been prescribed for you, a list of the generic names of your medication, your travel documents and a change of clothing in your carry-on bag to avoid any inconvenience in the event that your flight or luggage is delayed. No medications are sold on board the riverboat.

We suggest that you pack the following items your journey:

  • Casual daytime wear – shorts, slacks, long and short-sleeved shirts
  • An optional jacket and tie for men
  • Casually elegant evening wear for ladies
  • Sunglasses, sunscreen, hat
  • Swimwear for the whirlpools on the riverboat; the riverboat does not have a swimming pool
  • A light sweater or jacket for higher elevations or a breezy night
  • Binoculars (7x50 preferably)
  • Insect repellent
  • Camera, lenses, batteries, memory cards and chargers
  • Lightweight, comfortable, sturdy walking shoes that have already been broken-in
  • Travel alarm clock/cell phone with alarm function (many hotels do not have clocks in the rooms)
  • Rain poncho and collapsible umbrella
  • Reusable zipper-lock bags or other waterproof bags
  • Daypack for camera equipment
  • Sundries and toiletries that may be difficult to find en route
  • Copies of your travel documents to be secured in the safe in your hotel room or cabin

Journey from London to Paris by way of a River Seine cruise filled with Tauck exclusive experiences... Private tasting tours, from wine to cheese to chocolate... discover treasured Parisian landmarks, steeped in history, culture and art... and return home with tales of adventures that become more exciting with each retelling.

Wind through fishing ports and medieval towns, tasting Normandy cuisine, visiting the D-Day invasion beaches of Normandy, finding the deep essence of calvados, pausing in ancient abbeys and the picturesque haunts of Impressionist painters, dining at a chateau in Rouen, exploring cobblestone lanes, walking in Monet's garden at Giverny, visiting Van Gogh's muse in Aubers-sur-Oise, a visit to a private castle, and incomparable Paris... well, riverboating seems like the only way to go! Private tasting tours, from wine to cheese to chocolate... a tale of two cities you'll want to tell over and over again.

Paris to Normandy – The River Seine

A private evening at château du taillis, enjoying the pleasures of normandy with a private evening at château du taillis.

Tauck Exclusive – Early-opening at Monet's Giverny

Discovering monet on an early-opening visit to his home and gardens in giverny.

Of the 4 Tauck tours we have taken, this was the best so far. The tinerary was fun and interesting every day, start to finish!

The below provides an overview of Tauck's requirements and those of the countries we visit, along with our supplier partners who have implemented their own Covid policies that may go beyond Tauck's requirements. The trip-specific guidelines are for U.S. travelers.

Up-to-date destination entry requirements will be posted 60 days prior to the first seasonal departure for each tour or cruise series. For journeys not yet posted below, please visit our Travel Requirements page. As entry requirement change frequently, please check often.

Tauck 2024 Covid Policy

For 2024 tours and cruises, Tauck has no remaining Covid requirements. There is no vaccination requirement or travel pledge to be signed. This 2024 policy could change if there is a surge in infection rates or other factors that could impact the safety of our guests and employees.

Tauck 2023 Covid Policy

  • Vaccination Requirement:  All Tauck guests age 12 and older must be fully vaccinated. Additionally, you must have had at least one booster dose and/or have proof of recovery from Covid.
  • Requirements for Minors:  Though highly recommended, vaccination for minors age 11 and under is not required by Tauck. However, if unvaccinated they must present a negative result from either a PCR or antigen test taken within 3 days of departing for their Tauck trip. If a child age 11 or under is vaccinated but not boosted, they must also present a negative test prior to their Tauck trip.
  • Tauck Travel Agreement:  Tauck requires all guests to sign our Travel Well Pledge . Your Tauck Director will provide this document for your signature on the first day of your trip, and will check your proof of vaccination and booster/or proof of recovery. Additional information can be found at here .

To ensure the safety of your fellow travelers and the communities we visit, all guests must follow health and safety protocols when necessitated by local health guidance or our supplier partners. Your Tauck Director will keep you informed of these local requirements.

Although not required by Tauck, some countries may require a pre-travel Covid test. It is important that you carefully check the most recent entry requirements (listed below) for your tour or cruise.

Additional Destination Requirements

There are no specific Covid entry requirements for travelers arriving from the US.

Travel Documents

If you are a U.S. citizen traveling internationally, you will need a passport valid for six months beyond the completion of your Tauck journey to enter the United Kingdom and France. You are not required to obtain a visa to enter the United Kingdom or France for short duration of this tour.

If you are a citizen of another country traveling internationally, you should contact an embassy or consulate of the United Kingdom and of France to determine what travel documentation is required.

TAUCK AIRPORT TRANSFERS are included at the start and end of the journey between the airport and the Tauck hotel.

Checked Luggage – General

If you are a resident of another country , please contact the French and British embassies or consulates to determine what vaccinations may be required for you to visit.

Smoking is permitted in a limited area of the Sun deck. Smoking is not permitted in any cabin, restaurant, lounge or any other interior space.

You can view the reading list  here .

The weather in London and Paris is variable. Generally, daytime temperatures in the spring and fall range from 50 to 65 °F (10 to 18 °C) and in summer, 65 to 75 °F (18 to 24 °C). Rain falls evenly throughout the year and averages 1.5 to 2.5 in (38. to 64 mm) per month. Europe has experienced unusually warm temperatures during the summer months in recent years, so do include some lighter clothing in your travel wardrobe.

To read about current weather conditions, we suggest you log on to the Internet website, noaa.gov , by clicking here.

  • An optional jacket and tie for men
  • Casually elegant evening wear for ladies
  • Sunglasses, sunscreen, hat
  • Swimwear for the whirlpool on the riverboat and for the pool at the Trianon Palace and Spa Versailles Hotel

Tauck Launching Six New European River Cruises for 2024

Single Supplement Waived Entirely on All Category 1 Riverboat Cabins, and Reduced up to $1,300 CAD on 176 Departures of 63 Itineraries to Five Continents

Tom Armstrong

  • Media Center

WILTON, CT (October 4, 2022) With the world now reopen to travel, Tauck is making sure that solo travelers aren't left behind; the 97-year-old leader in upscale guided land journeys, European river cruises, small ship ocean cruises and Tauck Bridges family travel adventures has announced its solo traveler savings for 2023.

For the coming year, Tauck has again eliminated the single supplement on its Category 1 European riverboat cabins, waiving the supplement entirely for those cabins on each departure of every Tauck river cruise itinerary. The single supplement is thus being waived on nearly 250 Tauck river cruise departures next year. Tauck has also reduced the single supplement by $1,300 CAD on other selected cabin categories on 63 departures of 20 different river itineraries.

On its land journeys, Tauck has reduced the single supplement by up to $1,300 CAD on 113 departures of 43tours visiting five continents. In North America, for example, the company has shaved up to $1,300 CAD off the single supplement on 43 departures of 15 tours. On its popular European tours, Tauck has reduced the single supplement by up to $520 CAD on 48 departures of 19 different land itineraries. And in its "Exotics" portfolio, Tauck has reduced the supplement by up to $800 CAD on 22 departures of nine trips in Asia, Africa, Latin America and the Middle East.

"We're excited to eliminate or dramatically reduce the single supplement on so many of our journeys, yet the financial savings are just one of several reasons why Tauck is so popular with solo travelers," said Tauck CEO Dan Mahar. "Our trips provide a wonderful sense of assurance and support that our solo guests truly appreciate, and many say they feel like 'part of the family' when they travel with us."

"And of course," Mahar continued, "planning a solo trip with Tauck is as simple as selecting the itinerary and the departure date. All of the advance planning and other tasks that would normally fall squarely on the shoulders of a solo traveler – all of the choreography, all of the hotel and restaurant reservations, all of the on-site transportation, navigation and more – they're all expertly handled by Tauck. It's hard to put a real value on a relaxing, enriching and memorable travel experience," Mahar concluded, "and while the monetary savings are great, in some ways they're really just the icing on the cake."

Those interested in more information can contact their local travel professional, call Tauck at 800 468 2825, or visit the company's website at www.tauck.com  ( www.tauck.ca in Canada, www.tauck.co.uk in the UK, www.tauck.com.au in Australia/New Zealand).

About Tauck: Founded in 1925, Tauck is a world leader in upscale guided travel, with more than 150 land tours, safaris, river cruises and small ship ocean cruises to 70+ countries and all seven continents. In each of the last 25 years, Tauck has been honored in Travel + Leisure magazine's annual "World's Best Awards" celebrating the very best in luxury tours, cruises, hotels and more.
