I have been waiting for over 20 yrs for Tool to come back to Dallas and Jam out. Well that's exactly what TOOL did on 22January2020 in Dallas, TX at American Airlines Arena. From start to end nothing but excellence from all 4 Gentleman. lanyards voice was Top form and the musician's jammed do hard I know they have to have blisters on their fingers. They are a very fine tuned head banging, fist in the air rocking Rock and Roll band of the Decade. If you happen to get a chance to see TOOL within the next 4 shows, only in the states, get there. Because you dont want to miss this show. SHOW OF THE YEAR!!!!! Guaranteed!!!

Absolutely incredible show! The sound was perfect, the visuals were spectacular and the band sounded super-tight (no surprise there). That is no easy feat considering the complexity of their music (especially their new material). They're one of the very few bands that actually sound the same or better live than the studio album. Maynard is finally more visible on this tour as they've added two platforms on each side of the drum riser where he crouched, danced, slithered and delivered his exceptional vocals. He even engaged the crowd a little bit, which was shocking. You could tell he and all his band mates are in a good head space and were really enjoying themselves. Truly memorable show from one of the greatest rock bands ever!

ggavros2002’s profile image

The band was unreal as always.

I attended a Montreal show a couple of years back and this was just as good along with the addition of some new album tracks.

Unfortunately, I can't say the same for the crowd here. The fans were far more connected to the music in Montreal. They understood the ebb and flow.

But, for some reason, we've got fools in Toronto who show up, get trashed and are somehow louder than the band. People here don't seem to get the idea that they're there with 12 - 13 thousand other people so it's really not about them. But, hey, that's the maturity level of kids old enough to drink legally, but not self-aware...

If ever they're back again, I'll see them, but never at Scotia again.

TOOL  will hit the road for an extensive tour of U.S., Europe, and the U.K. in 2022, the band announced on Monday.

The lauded hard rock outfit is set to go on tour once again beginning on January 10th at Eugene, OR’s Matthew Knight Arena . The tour will take TOOL to arenas around the U.S. throughout January, February, and March before heading to Europe and the U.K. for shows throughout late April and May. The tour will feature support from Blonde Redhead and  The Acid Helps  at select dates.

“It is with great pleasure I get to announce our return to the road,” said Danny Carey . “These past 18 months have been trying to say the least but from great trials come great lessons and great rewards. We are genuinely looking forward to sharing them with you.”

The new batch of 2022 TOOL tour dates effectively replace the band’s planned 2020 tour, which was axed as the coronavirus picture worsened. When the 2020 TOOL tour was canceled , the band noted that it would not attempt to reschedule in 2021 due to the continued uncertainty with regard to COVID-19.

The band dealt with the effects of COVID-19 on a personal level, as well. Keenan reportedly contracted the virus two separate times in 2020—first in February while on tour in support of the band’s highly anticipated new LP, Fear Inoculum , and then again later in the year. Keenan later opened up about his second COVID-19 diagnosis on a February 2021 episode  of  Apple Music ‘s ‎ The Strombo Show , during which he detailed his harrowing experience battling COVID-19 and pneumonia at once.

As Keenan noted simply in a post announcing the 2022 tour, “Let’s finish what we started. Shall we?”

Tickets for all dates go on sale this Friday, October 1st at 10:00 a.m. local time. U.K. and Irish dates will go on sale at 9 a.m. local time.

TOOL Army members can purchase pre-sale tickets for European dates on September 28th at 10 a.m. local time (24-hour pre-sale window), while U.S. pre-sale tickets are available on September 29th at 10 a.m. local time (36-hour pre-sale window). Tool

Tool is getting back on the road. The band announced on Monday (Sept. 27) a massive tour spanning four months to kick off in January 2022.

“It is with great pleasure I get to announce our return to the road,” drummer Danny Carey said in a statement. “These past 18 months have been trying, to say the least, but from great trials come great lessons and great rewards. We are looking forward to sharing them with you.”

Added frontman Maynard James Keenan, “Let’s finish what we started, shall we?”

Tool's Maynard James Keenan Shares His 'Ugly' Second Experience With COVID-19

The U.S. leg of the tour will begin Jan. 10 at the Matthew Knight Arena in Eugene, Ore., where the band — like many others around the world — had to halt its 2020 tour in support of 2019’s long-awaited release Fear Inoculum due to the global coronavirus pandemic. After first delaying the tour in February 2020, Tool elected to scrap it completely a few months later in June.

After three months touring the States, Tool will take a few weeks off before picking up with the European leg, which is slated to begin April 23 in Copenhagen, and ending May 24 in Budapest.

Blonde Redhead will support the Jan. 10-Feb. 10 dates, while The Acid Helps will open the Feb. 19-March 20 shows.

Tool Army members can access presale tickets beginning Sept. 28 at 10 a.m. local time for European dates, and Sept. 29 at 10 a.m. local for U.S. shows. There will also be exclusive packages available during the pre-sale windows. Tickets for all dates go on sale to the general public Friday (Oct. 1) at 10 a.m. local time.

Tool Announce Massive 2022 U.S. + European Tour

They're back! Tool will be hitting the road in 2022 with the first five months of the year now spoken for as the band just revealed dates for both a massive U.S. tour leg as well as a European tour as well.

Tool were set to play Eugene, Oregon last year just as the pandemic hit, so they're picking up right where they left off with the show at the Matthew Knight Arena serving as the tour kickoff on Jan. 10.

“It is with great pleasure I get to announce our return to the road,” said Danny Carey. “These past 18 months have been trying to say the least but from great trials come great lessons and great rewards. We are genuinely looking forward to sharing them with you.”

The tour will have Blonde Redhead on board as the opening act from Jan. 10 through Feb. 10, while The Acid Helps take over the opening slot from Feb. 19 to March 20. You can see all cities, venues and dates listed below.

Tickets for all shows will go on sale this Friday (Oct. 1) at 10AM local time, while the U.K. and Irish dates go on sale at 9AM local time. Black and yellow toolbox with metallic tools in front

Gearwrench 232-Piece Mechanics Tool Kit

The Gearwrench brand is my favorite entry-to-mid-level tool brand for chrome hand tools. Made in Taiwan, these sockets, combination wrenches, and ratchets have excellent manufacturing tolerances, meaning less slipping off bolt heads and potentially damaging them. This kit comes with only 1/4-inch and 3/8-inch drive sockets and ratchet handles, not 1/2-inch, but that shouldn't matter unless you're working on large projects, such as cars' axle components or building a deck. The organization box is also excellent, with sturdy slide-out drawers and built-in handles that make picking up the heavy box a breeze.

An impact driver is a power tool that delivers rapid, repeated forward thrusts as it rotates on a bolt or screwhead. It works wonders for stubborn screws and bolts that may be too rusted in place to remove without a power tool. An impact driver typically fits small screws and bolts. Similarly, a hammer drill delivers the same thrusts but is designed for drilling through tough materials that could choke up a normal cordless drill. This combo kit includes two batteries and a charger, so when you run one dry, you've got another to use while the first one is charging.

An impact wrench is similar to an impact driver in that it uses repeated forward thrusts to loosen stubborn bolts, but it tends to be more powerful and meant for larger bolts. I've used one to loosen rusty suspension bolts and engine bolts enough times in the garage to consider one a godsend for heavy-duty mechanical work.

Cordless drill battery charger and carrying bag

DeWalt 20V Max XR Cordless Drill Kit

The cordless drill is arguably the most versatile power tool in a homeowner's toolbox. Not only can it drill, but it can be fitted with screwdriver bits for Phillips head screws, Torx, triple square, and hex bolts. A similar 20-volt DeWalt has been my standby for years, and the XR version adds a brushless electric motor for a longer life span. The speed is adjustable from 650 to 2,000 rounds per minute, which is useful because you won't need a high RPM all the time. The ergonomics are perfect. I've spent hours in a row with an ergonomically identical DeWalt with no hand pain. The small LED in front of the trigger lights up dark work areas nicely.

If I were to "hypothetically" say that I've drilled more than 100 holes in my apartment walls (and if my hypothetical landlord wasn't reading this), I'd tell you that these budget drill bits performed excellently in drilling through prewar drywall, which in my place measures a particularly thick 3/4 inches. I've used these bits to repair the frame of a couch, build wooden furniture, and drill through metal picture frames, and they're the best value out there. They come in several sizes that have never left me wanting.

Gearwrench makes the best value in tools. I tested this 12-piece screwdriver set earlier this year, and I was enamored with how tightly the Phillips head screwdrivers fit into screw heads. That means less slippage that can damage screws and potentially make them nearly impossible to remove or reuse. The rubber-wrapped handle is comfortable for extended periods too.

Garage and Yard Deals

Slender stand with 2prong legs on each end and yellow brackets in the middle

Ridgid Compact Miter Saw Stand

Perform any woodworking, even if you're cutting boards, and you need a miter saw. The hang-up comes in finding a stable, secure place to put it while you're using it. Choosing a stand is vital because a miter saw is dangerous when it's unstable. I've always been impressed by Ridgid stands. The mounting brackets are quick and easy to use, and the structural parts have robust materials that don't scream cost-cutting. This stand can hold up to 400 pounds, which is plenty for a miter saw.

A stalwart tool of any garage, whether you're cleaning up after a woodworking project or washing the car, is the shop vac. It's a supercharged cousin of your household vacuum cleaner. It can suck up wet messes, thanks to its built-in drain, as well as dry ones. Ridgid makes my favorite shop vacs because, with 5 horsepower on tap (for this model), it has no shortage of power for sucking up large messes; the included hose attachments fit securely; the caster wheels glide easily; and I've never had one break while on duty.

Maybe it's the number of times I've stood on a Werner ladder and didn't fall off, but when I need to purchase a new ladder, I almost always go with Werner. This 8-foot-tall model is made of thick, durable fiberglass that helps cut down on some of the weight when you're moving it, and it holds up to 300 pounds. There's a magnetic tool strip at the top, along with a paint can holder and a slot for holding a drill or hammer.

Black and blue leaf blower with charger beside it

Kobalt 630-CFM Leaf Blower

Leaf blowers aren't just for fall. They can be a major time-saver when you want to clean up the grass shrapnel that remains after edging your lawn, for example. Gone are the days of a bulky, smoke-spewing, gasoline-powered leaf blower. This cordless, electric model from Kobalt moves 630 cubic feet per minute of air, meaning it offers plenty of power while weighing just under 9 pounds. There's a battery and charger included too.

Other Tool Deals

Black and orange digital meter wires batteries case and additional accessories

Klein Digital Multimeter Kit

Being able to measure the electrical current flowing through an outlet, car battery, or the like is essential when working with electronics. Klein is a longtime stalwart in tools designed specifically for electricians. This multimeter measures up to 600 AC/DC voltage and 10A DC, and it comes packaged with GFCI outlet testers and cables. If all the dials and screens look complicated, don't be scared. The included instructions will tell you how to set everything, and it's far easier than it appears at first glance.

It's easy to find a decent utility knife, but hard to find a great utility knife. I've used tons, from Craftsman to Stanley to no-name brands off Amazon, and the Fastback is my favorite. The replaceable blades are sharper than those from other brands, and you can flick the blade open and shut one-handed with ease. You can store a spare blade in the handle, and there's a bit holder for a common-size flat head and Phillips head screwdriver bit. A battle opener and wire stripper round out the features list.

Stanley makes my favorite tape measures in their Fat Max series, but these DeWalt tape measures are nearly as good, and hey, they're on sale. I'd say they've earned the right to use “tough” in their name, because I've thrown some around a few job sites, and the thick plastic casing can put up with a lot of abuse. One of the few differentiators among tape measures is their ability to extend without collapsing. The DeWalt's thick tape manages this well, so if you need to stretch it out 10 feet across the room to measure something (which is quite common), then you'll have a lot fewer headaches with this than a cheaper tape measure.

Plastic trigger clamps won't be the clamp to grab for the heaviest-duty jobs, but they may be the clamps you reach for the most often. More times than I can count in a month, I need a third hand to hold something steady for me while I work on a project. From pinning a bracket to an awkward place while you bolt it in, to keeping hands safely clear when cutting something, you need a few clamps in your toolbox. With 100 pounds of clamping force, these will be more than capable of many day-to-day, small tasks.

Will Taylor Swift add 'Tortured Poets' to international Eras Tour? Our picks.

tool international tour

A double album. Thirty one songs. Two hours and two minutes. In the spaces between the international, record- breaking Eras Tour, Taylor Swift released her 11th era: "The Tortured Poets Department." But will the behemoth tour make room for the newest addition to Swift's vast catalog and how?

"The Tortured Poets Department" showcases the singer's mastery to connect words like puzzle pieces seamlessly depicting the human experience and complex themes of false wedding promises, relationship imprisonment, break-ups and drug escapism, religion versus rebellion, childhood retrospection and the duality of internally suffering while externally performing. It would be a surprise for her not to push this body of art into the spotlight.

But how it fits into the 44-song three hour and 15-minute Eras tour is anyone's guess. And we won't find out until she resumes the tour on May 9 in Paris. I'll be there.

Read Melissa Ruggieri's review Taylor Swift's 'Tortured Poets' is hauntingly brilliant, even the 15 surprise songs

Whether or not she's incorporating the era has already been decided. Swift is 13 steps ahead . She plans her moves years in advance. There is a two-month break from the tour and she has been spending time in Los Angeles. Her team of dancers have not been as active on social media possibly because they're rehearsing a new set. Or maybe it's a coincidence?

The simplest path would be to absorb some of the the 31 songs into the acoustic set that comes after "Bad Blood" during the "1989" era. Swift has used the 2024 surprise songs to play mash-ups on the guitar and the piano. It's when she makes announcements and it's a custom gift to concertgoers and fans watch in envy on livestreams from around the world.

'Tortured Poets' release live updates What to know as Taylor Swift's new album debuts

More likely, she will add a "Tortured Poets" set. The show is segmented, allowing a new era to squeeze in. She could open the show with the new era, although "Miss Americana and the Heartbreak Prince's" opening line is a perfect opening for an artist who has released seven albums and hasn't seen fans: "It's been a long time coming." She could end the show with the set, but "Karma" is a good show closer.

Cue the confetti. If she ends the tour with "Tortured Poets," I'm guessing "I Can Do It With a Broken Heart" is the closer.

The writing shines bright like Swift's glittering sequin stars which is reminiscent of and relative to "Folklore" and "Evermore." For the flow of the concert, it makes more sense to not place "Tortured Poets" next to these albums. The show flows with a narrative that spans almost two decades with highs and lows of energy. Two areas that could be good: after "Reputation" and before "Speak Now" or after the secret songs and before "Midnights." Maybe she dives into the stage to swim to the an asylum of typewriters and tormented thoughts.

The four eras with the most amount of songs are the latest records she owned that aren't re-records: "Lover" (six songs), "Folklore" (seven songs), "Evermore" (five songs) and "Midnights" (seven songs). Will she follow that flow? Will she cut songs from these eras?

I could see her performing the lead single "Fortnight," title track "The Tortured Poets Department," Eras Tour song "I Can Do It With a Broken Heart," "Down Bad," "Who's Afraid of Little Old Me," "thanK you aIMee" and "So High School."

Swift holds the answer key. Sixty-nine shows are left on the recording shattering magnum opus for 2024.

This Quaint Town in Portugal Was Just Named the Best Place to Invest in Europe — and It Has Stunning Beaches

Lush pine forests, cobblestone streets, endless ocean views, and low real estate prices await in this quaint community in northern Portugal.

tool international tour

Xurxo Lobato/Getty Images

Portugal is on everyone's mind these days. The country's sunny weather , many beaches , and affordable cost of living have made it a popular choice for retirees and digital nomads. However, as is often the case, real estate prices in some of its most sought-after regions, like the capital, Lisbon and Algarve , have soared. But that doesn't mean you should give up on your dream of owning property in Portugal.

A new report by International Living ranked the small, under-the-radar- town of Caminha the best place to invest in real estate in Europe for its value and growth potential.

The community is located in the northwest along the mouth of the Minho River, which separates Portugal from Spain, and is home to about 16,000 residents. International Living gave Caminha a perfect score of 10 in the relative value category and nine for quality of life and stability.

"Caminha, which is only separated from Spain by a river, completely charmed me," Ronan McMahon, founder of Real Estate Trend Alert and author of International Living's Global Real Estate Index, told Travel + Leisure . "It has a beautiful Old Town surrounded by a verdant and bucolic countryside, with mountains, rivers, forests, and fields overflowing with brightly colored flowers and fruit trees heavy with their bounty. And then there are the stunning Atlantic beaches."

The ancient town has plenty of character, with fountains, churches, and other buildings dating back to the 16th and 17th centuries. And it's easily accessible from Porto, which is just an hour and 15 minutes south, providing access to an international airport.

Jeff Opdyke, International Living's personal finance editor, called Caminha a "holdover of Portugal before tourism and modernity swept over Lisbon, the Algarve, and Porto," where affordable real estate is still the norm.

Potential buyers can find apartments downtown for as low as $150,000 and stand-alone houses for $280,000 .

And while Caminha is the best place to invest in Europe, another destination took the top prize for global real estate value: Mexico's Los Cabos. International Living ranked first with almost perfect scores in categories such as income potential, climate, and international appeal. Riviera Maya and Estepona in Spain, a town in the country's famous Costa del Sol region, are tied for the third place.

You can see the full ranking at internationaliving.com .

In the past 30 days, searches for ‘Taylor Swift Europe tour 2024 tickets’ have increased by 300% in the U.S., indicating that some people are ready to take a long-haul flight to see the wildly popular artist live, according to travel website Islands.com .

Concert-goers who head to Europe for their Swift experience may actually save more money in the long-run . Not only are ticket prices across the pond cheaper, but many European cities, like Warsaw and Lisbon, are also budget-friendly, offering inexpensive food and lodging.

Was the travel worth it? Beyoncé and Taylor Swift's summer concerts drew fans from afar

To determine the most affordable Eras Tour stops, Islands.com researchers compared the cost of a two-night trip, including one cheap ticket on StubHub.com, two nights at a four-star hotel, six inexpensive meals, two five-mile taxi rides, and one domestic beer. However, researchers didn’t account for airline tickets or concert merchandise.

With safety at the top of travelers' minds, the researchers also factored in the city’s safety rating out of 100.

To stay extra safe, the State Department encourages travelers to register with the U.S. embassy in the country they're visiting any time they travel abroad. That can be done at step.state.gov .
