Looking for a 1/2 day, guided, gentle rafting trip for 4 adults & a service dog. Mon 24 July. I rafted as a child; my relatives have not rafted but do dive. I anticipate getting wet but don't want to be thrown overboard. What do you offer?

Had a great time on the river with wife and friends .Our guide ,Sean ,was the best .Good food.good times ,good price . They are very personal,professional, and accommodating . Would use them again in a heartbeat.

We were with a large group of 28 people wanting to raft together on the 4th of July long weekend, so we did our research on all the local companies that offered South Fork 1/2 day tours. WET was the most accommodating, friendly, professional, and the best-priced in making the upfront arrangements. We were even camping at the American River Resort which claims to have the largest, most established rafting operation there, but after trying to deal with their team we decided it would be worth forgoing the convenience of leaving from our camp to go with WET. We could not have been happier that we did. Especially since we had other issues with ARR, from the camping perspective (I highly recommend reading the reviews of the actual campground and not just the rafting tours before camping there). Next time I'd go with Camp Lotus where WET is based, but not stay in their section and make our own camping arrangements. The WET great service did not lag on day of arrival. All four of our rafts (groups of 7-8) had a thrilling experience, and none of us could stop gushing about our guides. They were simply awesome. Clearly pros, with great instruction for any novice. These reviews are consistent for a reason. I will not go to another company on such a trip to the American River.

My 3 boys and I did a day trip on the South fork. The trip was amazing, everyone loved it. The river guide Sean, was awesome. Very knowledgeable and engaging. He explained The different movements different types of waves, a different class of Rapids, and why the do the things they do on the water. We stopped to eat about half down. Nice set up. My sons want to make this a tradition after just one trip. Highly recommend.

Organized, professional, A+ company. The guides are very skilled, and knowledgeable about the area and its history. We really enjoyed our time with our guide Sean; actually all the guides were a ton of fun! Will definitely take another run with WET next year!

Fantastic day rafting class 4 rapids on the Middle fork of the American River. Our guide Sean was fun and friendly. Such a great experience.

I respect this rafting company. I cannot remember the guide's name but I found him to be remarkably educated on all subjects from water right's to American River history. He was a great guide as well. I had fun and it was a safe trip down the Middle Fork with his guidance. I definitely recommend this company. He inspired me to pursue rafting in the Grand Canyon and read the Emerald Mile!

Went today and ray was our guide. She was amazing and made everything really fun. She was a great guide! Made me feel like I need to do more adventures in life and I view life differently from this experience. I plan on going again if possible before the season ends. I would highly recommend this company if it was your first time. We went on the middle river I think it was called. First part was pretty intense but after that it was easy to catch onto. I hope to go again and have ray as my guide.

I've had quite a few trips for different levels, with different companies, these guys are the best. Went with my son, they deliberately tried to throw us into the water, and he loves it! Usually the other companies are so afraid of getting into trouble that the guides are not happy if you don't paddle hard or fast, forget about getting in adventurous situations like resting on a boulder, but these guys do, obviously that takes skill and knowledge, that sets them apart from other companies. And my son especially like the guide's jokes, make sure you tip them well. One thing though, they should have warned that the water is freaking cold even in the summer!

I went on the Middle Fork full-day rafting trip with WETRiver and had one of the best days this summer! From parking lot pickup at Auburn to getting on the raft, instructions, guide, rapids, lunch and finally drop off --everything was well done ! Special mention to our awesome guide Shawn - he helped us navigate even level 4 rapids with such professionalism and yet with such friendly demeanor, it really made a big difference.

American river offering 'once in a lifetime' rafting conditions above folsom lake, company says.

Demand is high for guided whitewater rafting trips in the churning, rolling, fast-moving conditions throughout the Foothills.

While multiple signs are displayed along the American River discouraging boating, rafting and swimming below Folsom Lake, the situation above Folsom Lake is very different.

"People are coming out to phenomenal conditions. They've never seen anything like this," said Chad Richards of Wet River Trips. "This is a once-in-a-decade, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity."

The river flows through Coloma are among the top five conditions since 1998, according to Richards.

So why the warning to stay out of the water above Folsom Lake, but the high demand to get into the water above it?

"This is what we train and live for as professional guides and commercial outfitters. We've practiced and trained for years and years. We've done it before. We have an impeccable safety record," said Richards.

Some rafting companies, like Wet River Trips, are taking added safety steps to deal with the current conditions.

Added safety measures for Wet River Trips:

• Helmets, life jackets, wet suits, ability to swim for customers
• Added safety boat with every raft trip
• If you fall, advised to stay in middle of the river to avoid underwater hazards

Because of the Sierra snowpack, raft companies above Folsom Lake are expecting a longer season than average.

Below Folsom Lake, American River Raft Rentals, the largest self-guided raft company at the Sunrise access, is temporarily closed due to the current river conditions .

Super professional, expert guiding! Super friendly and attentive guides and driver. WET is a smaller company so you have more individualized attention and don't travel on the river in a huge pod. WET collaborates with the fabulous Camp Lotus so one can camp at Lotus and have WET provide delicious meals--super deluxe and convenient.

Have used WET rafting for several trips on the middle and south forks of te American river and have never been disappointed! Gordy has been our guide a couple of times and has been the consumate professional. The professionalism as well as the knowledge of the river and the local historical aspects adds to the trips. OBTW...the lunches are quite something knowing what they have to go through to get there. Can't wait for the next river trip.

I can't pick one favorite part of the trip. The guides were amazing. The planning and execution of the trip was flawless from first contact, to pick up for the drop in, to laughter and feeling completely safe on my trip, to family fun in the water when it was safe, to stories and history on the river. This trip was made amazing by WET. I highly recommend. I am one that will review the good and the bad. Sorry, I have no bad to outline. Amazing folks, and they made my sisters birthday flawless. For the record, we did the Southfork of the American. The 20 somethings want to go back for the Middle Fork and I totally trust them with my kids on that crazy ride. Ours were 3's all day long. Middle will have 4's and 5's for them and I totally trust this river company

Our family of two adults and two middle schoolers loved this adventure. We did the 11am South Fork trip with experienced and personable guide, Walker. Beautiful warm day; tasty lunch in the shade; spotted some wildlife; efficient pull out and return to Lotus.

Me and my party of 3 had an absolute BLAST! Definitely the highlight of our summer. Our guide Andrew, was cool, patient and knowledgeable. Above all, he made us feel safe and really knows his stuff. It was an all around great time. Will be going again! The company also refunded us 50% for two last minute cancellations which was much appreciated. WET is really in it for the customers.

Great guides, ran a smooth operation - I like they are a smaller company, not part of a large group of rafts.

The reason we decided to focus on quality trips instead of trying to be the biggest company is so that we can provide the best experience that is catered to each of our guests.
