Woburn Safari Park Kids Day Out
Our day out at woburn safari park.
It is a great day out for kids and the adults when you visit Woburn Safari Park . Within easy driving distance of Bucks you can have a day out to suit everyone. Our day out at Woburn Safari Park was from when the gates opened until when they closed! We just didn’t want to go home.
“Woburn Safari Park is a drive through wildlife park nestled in over 300 acres of beautiful Bedfordshire parkland. Admission to the park includes the Road Safari drive through expansive parkland reserves to see some of the world’s most endangered animals, including rhinos, tigers, lions and giraffe.
You will continue your journey in the Foot Safari where you’ll discover animal enclosures and habitats and can watch fascinating keeper talks and demonstrations. Explore the Leisure Area and enjoy fun activities like Swan Boats, the Great Woburn Railway, and outdoor play areas all included in your ticket price.”
Things to know about your day out at Woburn Safari Park-
This is a drive through experience and walk through. If you are going to drive through the monkey enclosure you must be prepared for them to eat your car! We were lucky this time to not have any damage but have been unfortunate in the past.
This is a great opportunity to get to see the animals really closely if they come near to your car, we have had things like tigers less than a meter away which the kids thought was amazing.
Go to the toilets by the main car park before starting your road safari if you have little people!- to do this just drive straight forwards when you enter and head for the car park. You can then rejoin the road safari. You can access things in which ever order works for you. We did the foot safari first, early lunch then drive around then back for more playing on foot safari and early tea!
If you are going in multiple cars with friends or family take some walks talkies! Great fun for the kids and added an extra element of education as they sounded like they were narrating their own nature show.
If you have little ones I would take a buggy for the foot safari and there are a few hilly paths (all paved).
We had an absolute hoot on the pedalos (these have a height restriction and 2 year old was too small) so bring your sea legs and muscles to peddle around the lake.
There is also a Go Ape and junior high rope trail but I have not experienced these to be able to tell you more.
There was lots of choose from and all kid friendly. Hot food and sandwiches and lunchboxes were available for take away and are reasonably priced. There are loads of seating areas all around and lots of bins. There is also packet ice creams, lollies and fresh ice cream in cones.
We took our own lunch and snacks and then got tea from the cafe.
The Ark Play Area and cafe is closed until May restrictions lift and it will be great when this reopens too as it has a HUGE softplay.

Woburn Safari Park
Oxford & the Cotswolds
Sprawling across 150 hectares, the country's largest drive-through animal reserve can only be visited in your own car (so long as it’s not a convertible!). Animals such as rhinos, tigers, lions, elephants and giraffes – grouped into separate enclosures, for obvious reasons – will approach your car, or, if they’re monkeys, climb on top of it. The 'foot safari' area holds sea lions, penguins, meerkats and lemurs.
