Croatian Small Boat Cruise - MV Splendid, Ambassador Travel

This 8 day small boat cruise around the islands of Croatia from Dubrovnik to Split was the highlight of our recent trip to Europe. The MV Splendid was spotlessly clean, comfortable and always well presented. Tour manager and crew were highly organised, friendly and helpful. Meals onboard (breakfast and lunch) were excellent. A special highlight was swimming off the back of the boat each day in the Adriatic.Then relaxing onboard in the mornings before docking and exploring the islands in the afternoon and evenings. There was plenty of free time to take the guided tour provided and self explore in the afternoon and evenings. Scenery was spectacular, weather was brilliant and fellow travellers very friendly. We highly recommend this experience. Travel if possible in late May or June to avoid the heat of summer and hordes of tourists.

We booked a Jet 2 package half board from Dubrovnik. The whole holiday from Stansted and back was wonderful. Not a single hitch. The 20 cabin boat was only 5 years old, the cabin was good, we had a double plus single bed though the decor was a little strange. The sun deck had enough beds and seats for everyone. The lunches in the restaurant were traditional and plentiful. Breakfasts were ok but the same everyday. The crew were lovely, the cruise manager took us on tours most days, all included. Drinks at English prices PAYG. We docked every afternoon so plenty of time to explore, eat etc. Really having a difficult time faulting it, where next is the problem!

Previous reviewers have rated this ship highly. Having recently returned from a week on Mendula we can concur with all that has been said. We originally booked because of the many positive comments on the Tripadvisor cruises forum and it's all true!! Captain Denys, who owns the boat, is a very experienced seaman and highly professional in running the ship and managing the itinerary. The boat is meticulously clean, everything runs on time, and meals are delicious and of generous proportions. The crew are friendly and approachable and also very hardworking. This boat, probably the most gleaming and polished you will see in any port of call, caters for up to 31 passengers as opposed to the 40 or more some other boats carry. This is another main attraction as it allows for a friendlier and more intimate experience overall, while also providing plenty of spare deck space for people to relax in their own way, to wander, read, watch or ponder! We had not realised beforehand that the guide would be resident on ship the entire week, or that there would be daily briefings on board about the itinerary and ports to be visited, in addition to walking tours onshore. Our guide, Ana, was warm, friendly and approachable at all times. She had a wealth of historical and cultural knowledge to share, as well as suggestions for things to do and places to visit. However, she was never intrusive and ensured that we had dedicated free time to explore onshore on our own. All in all this was a thoroughly enjoyable week, with a good value and well devised programme

We enjoyed an excellent 7 days aboard this lovely boat. Surely the cleanest and best kept boat in Croatia with a brilliant Captain and crew. Ana our tour rep was a great guide on our land tours. Having read the good reviews before we booked this trip sounded too good to be true, it wasn't and we would book again if the boat offered an alternative route so we could experience another area of Croatia. FrancisDK has written a detailed review which sums up our experiences too, so we are not going to duplicate it! Having cruised many times on large cruise ships this was by far the most relaxing. Great swimming in the lovely bays each day. An added bonus was experiencing Croatia while the world cup was on!

From start to finish, this was an absolutely fabulous cruise. Split, Hvar, Dubrovnik, Korcula and a few more, wonderful time, crew lovely, places to die for, must come again!

This tour which we did last month was extremely picturesque and well worthwhile but a tour guide can make the day even more enjoyable and the guide - Ronaldo was fantastic. He was friendly knowledgeable and made the bus trip ever so enjoyable. This tour is a must but if you can organise a time that Ronaldo is doing it, it will be even more enjoyable.

M/S Summer is 42,40 m long and 8 m wide luxury yacht-like ship that will satisfy your refined expectations for a comfortable and safe cruise along the Croatian Coast.

Built for the cruise season 2019, M/S Summer boasts the latest state-of-the-art equipment and amenities, guaranteeing an intimate cruise for all the her guests.

Closed Circuit Video surveillance, complete navigation equipment, fire alarm, smoke detectors, life rafts and tenders are there for your personal safety.

Public areas include an extra-large fully air-conditioned salon-restaurant on the upper deck with separate bar and lounge area, big screen LCD TV, corner table for buffet breakfast, wireless Internet, loud-speakers and audio-system for announcements by Captain or cruise manager, along with beautiful large windows for complete passenger’s satisfaction.

Outside, you’ll find a fully covered terrace with sitting area, tables and chairs that can be closed with removable plastic windows in a rare case of winds.

M/S Summer has a platform for swimming and 2 ladders with handholds, to enable easy water access. The ship also has two outdoor showers and public toilettes.

On the high deck, all the passengers can relax on the sun deck with sunbeds. The sundeck is partly shaded for clients’ comfort. Here you can also enjoy our elegant Rooftop Jacuzzi, designed to ensure an unforgettable cruise.

CABIN INFORMATION

Passenger cabins are situated on two decks while crew members are accommodated in the separate living quarters.

All guest cabins are very comfortable and fully air-conditioned, with an independent ventilation system enabling fresh air all the time. Each cabin is conveniently designed as a modern private ensuite, with both toilet and shower in the cabin.

Cabins are equipped with the following amenities: independent air conditioning control board, satellite LCD TV, designed wallboards, work table and chair, mirror, night lamps, safe deposit box, radio, hairdryer, 220 V electric supply, lifejacket, wardrobe cabinet, luggage space under bed, as well as with the latest safety and fire alarm systems, along with a sound system for notifications from a cruise manager or a group leader.

Standard deck cabins have two portholes and a dual ventilation system. Main deck cabins have a cabin window and a porthole in a bathroom. All cabins are soundproof and have a fireproof door.

VIP Cabins consist of 3 cabins. Two are located on the upper deck (Cabins #18-19) and the other one is located on the main deck (Cabin #17). The upper deck holds 2 cabins with Double beds each, while the main deck is composed of Twin/Double beds.
