Batam Tourism Polytechnic (BTP) was founded by Dr. Asman Abnur, SE., M.SI as the owner of Vitka Group as a form of concern for education and tourism for the people in Batam City and its surroundings. BTP was established on September 15, 2014, based on the Decree of the Minister of National Education of the Republic of Indonesia Number 192/E/O/2014 to organize three Diploma III Study Programs, namely Culinary Management, Room Division Management and Dish Management. The establishment of Batam Tourism Polytechnic is supported by other tourism campuses in Indonesia. The establishment of BTP was supported by the Bandung Tourism College (NHI) Campus and the Nusa Dua Bali College and is affiliated with the International Management Institute Switzerland. On October 17, 2014, Batam Tourism Polytechnic received a revision permit to upgrade the Diploma II study program to Diploma IV based on the Decree of the Minister of National Education of the Republic of Indonesia Number 504/E/O/2014. With this permit, Batam Tourism Polytechnic is the only campus that has a Diploma IV Program in Culinary Management, Room Division Management and Dish Management in Indonesia. Along with the development of Batam Tourism Polytechnic, on May 27, 2020, BTP received a permit to organize the Postgraduate Masters Program in Applied Tourism Planning and Development based on the Decree of the Minister of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia Number 531/M/2020. Currently Batam Tourism Polytechnic has 3 study programs that are accredited through the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BAN-PT) with accreditation B for the entire Diploma IV Program, and accredited C for the Postgraduate Program in Applied Masters of Tourism Planning and Development. Currently the BTP Internal Team is preparing re-accreditation documents to increase the value of Study Program Accreditation and Institutional Accreditation. Batam Tourism Polytechnic also has many collaborations with domestic and foreign institutions. Cooperating with local governments and national and international 5-star hotel chains. Based on these developments, it can be illustrated that the development of Batam Tourism Polytechnic continues to experience positive growth to become one of the best private polytechnics in the field of tourism in carrying out the role of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education in Indonesia.

• Act as the main node of the Indonesian tourism higher education network.

• Increased contribution in meeting the need for quality human resources for the development of the world of tourism 
• Increasing the quality of academic services, learning, and mentoring which leads to improving student learning outcomes and scientific writings 
• Increasing applied research work in the context of developing science 
• Increasing the number of quality research and community service in accordance with the needs of stakeholders 
• Increased activity and quality of research in accordance with the policy direction of Batam Tourism Polytechnic research which leads to an increase in the number of national and international publications, as well as the acquisition of intellectual property rights 
• Increased activity and quality of community service in an institutionalized manner based on innovation and research results 
• Increase cooperation to synergize the potential of the resources owned.

 Objectives:  

• Produce quality education and teaching in the tourism sector through the development of learning capacity to produce professional graduates 
• Produce a variety of research for the development of tourism science and technology based on local wisdom 
• Disseminate the application of tourism science through community service in order to improve the welfare of the community 
• As a reform agent in encouraging the independence of national tourism development 
• Become the main node in the Indonesian tourism higher education network.

Our DIV curriculum is occupied to support industrial needs with two semesters practical program in the industry at the 3rd and 8th semesters. Then, our new curriculum revision will give a deep exposure to learn managerial hospitality knowledge at industry with 6 months studying process at 7th semester to join “Industrial Class” at Hospitality Industry or 6 months to do “Entrepreneurship Program” as excellent programs to support “Merdeka”-Learning activities. Moreover, our curriculum for Master Program is set as the combination of applicative curriculum which designed to support the needs of Tourism Development and Planning. In order to reach this target, our teaching learning is set in the concept of “team-teaching” procedure with the involvement of Hospitality Practitioners and Tourism Expertise. To support the massive impact for this learning design, our university has engaged an intimate collaboration nationally and internationally with World Chain Hospitality Industry (Marriot, Hyatt, Rosewood, Hilton, and others), Qs-World Rank University in Hospitality Subject (Hongkong Polyu, Taylor’s University), Governmental Sector and Best National Hospitality and Tourism School. This efforts are set to support our campus vision and mission under the umbrella of “Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi” which include three main pillars consists of education, research and community service.

Batam Tourism Polytechnic didirikan pada 15 September 2014.

Pendirian BTP berdasarkan Surat Keputusan Menteri Pendidikan Nasional Republik Indonesia Nomor 192/E/O/2014 untuk menyelenggarakan tiga Program Studi Diploma III yaitu Manajemen Kuliner, Manajemen Divisi Kamar dan Manajemen Tata Hidangan.

BTP terus berkembang hingga menyelenggarakan program pascasarjana.

Batam Tourism Polytechnic juga menjalin banyak kerjasama dengan institusi di dalam dan luar negeri.

BTM.CO.ID, BATAM – Batam Tourism Polytechnic (BTP) melakukan penandatanganan kerja sama program Aplikasi Manajemen dengan beberapa hotel di Batam, Rabu (13/10/2021) sore.

Penandatanganan perjanjian kerja sama tersebut digelar di Bintan Lounge, Lantai 2, Gedung Kampus BTP, Tiban, Sekupang, Kota Batam, dan dilakukan oleh perwakilan Beverly Hotel, AsiaLink Easy by Prasanti, AsiaLink, OS Style Hotel, Aston Batam, Aston Inn Gideon Batam, Panbil Residence, Four Points Hotel, Kings Hotel, Ibis Style Batam, dan Amaris Hotel. Direktur Batam Tourism Polytechnic, M. Nur A Nasution dan Ketua Indonesian Hotel General Manager Association (IHGMA) Kepulauan Riau (Kepri), Yeyen Heryawan, turut menyaksikannya secara langsung.

“Selain Aplikasi Manajemen ada juga program Entrepreneur. Untuk program Aplikasi Manajemen kita bekerjasama dengan hotel yang ada di Batam. Sedangkan untuk program Entrepreneur kita menjalin kerja sama dengan beberapa pihak, di antaranya Al Ahmadi Entrepreneurship, Baba Rafi, dan ada juga dari pengusaha Malaysia,” ungkap Direktur Batam Tourism Polytechnic, M. Nur A Nasution usai penandatanganan kerja sama tersebut.

M. Nur A Nasution, menjelaskan dua program tersebut merupakan program baru di Kampus BTP. Akan dijalankan oleh mahasiswa selama dua bulan di semester tujuh, yakni sebelum mahasiswa menjalani praktek langsung di lapangan pada semester delapan.

“Mahasiswa bisa memilih program mana yang akan mereka jalani, Aplikasi Manajemen ( Profesional ) atau Entrepreneur. Dalam Aplikasi Manajemen mereka selama dua bulan akan dididik oleh manajemen hotel yang telah bekerjasama dengan kita, langsung di hotelnya. Jadi sebelum mereka UJT akhir di semester delapan mereka sudah paham dengan manajemen hotel,” kata M. Nur.

Begitu juga dengan program Entrepreneur, mahasiswa akan mendapatkan pembekalan dari orang-orang yang ahli dalam bidang membuat dan menciptakan produk dan lapangan kerja.

“Pada akhir program mereka bisa menghasilkan produk yang bisa mereka jual nantinya. Artinya ada dua mata pisau yang kami berikan pada mahasiswa kami, menjadi seorang profesional dan seorang entreprenuer, sehingga setelah tamat mereka bisa milih. Jika di profesional mereka kurang beruntung mereka bisa jamping di entreprenuer,” kata M. Nur lagi.

Diharapkan kata M. Nur, program tersebut meningkatkan daya saing mahasiswa dan mahasiswi BTP di dunia global khususnya industri pariwisata.

“Sehingga kami harapkan didikan bapak, ibu, di hotel mampu menjadikan mereka orang yang profesional dan nantinya mampu berkompetisi di masa depan mereka. Program baru insya Allah bisa menjadi benih dan berhasil,” harapnya.

Sementara Ketua Indonesian Hotel General Manager Association (IHGMA) Kepulauan Riau (Kepri), Yeyen Heryawan mengucapkan terima kasih atas kepercayaan BTP menjalanin kerja sama dengan beberapa hotel di Batam melalui IHGMA. Dikatakannya, kerja sama tersebut bukan yang pertama kali mereka lakukan dengan BTP.

“Sebelumnya sudah ada juga kerja sama yang kita jalin,” kata Yeyen, yang juga merupakan GM Beverly Hotel, Baloi, Batam.

Dikatakan Yeyen, program edukasi tersebut juga merupakan salah satu program di IHGMA Kepri. Tak hanya bagi mahasiswa tapi juga bagi pelajar SMK bahkan masyarakat umum yang bergerak dalam bidang pariwisata.

“Selain bekerjasama dengan kampus-kampus kita juga menjalin kerja sama dengan SMK-SMK pariwisata yang ada di Batam dan Bintan. Kita sangat komit dalam pengembangan SDM khususnya di Kepri ini untuk bisa bersaing dalam industri pariwisata,” kata Yeyen.

“Kita siap mendungkung dan berikan pengetahuan terbaik dari kita dan sistem-sistem yang nantinya bisa diserap oleh mahasiswa dan mahasiswi BTP yang akan mengkitui program di hotel yang berkerjasama ini,” katanya.(BTM /emr)

Ada banyak hal yang mestinya kita siapkan terlebih dahulu sebelum melangkah ke bangku perkuliahan salah satunya ialah memilih prodi dengan tepat. Dengan kita masuk jurusan yang tepat dalam arti sesuai dengan bakat yang kita miliki, maka hal itu akan membawa kita pada kemudahan selama menempuh studi nantinya. Tak hanya program studi, saat menentukan kampus juga penting kita pertimbangkan pilihannya dengan tepat dan cermat. Mengenal Apa Itu Jurusan dan Fakultas

Bagi setiap calon mahasiswa baru penting mengetahui profil dari macam-macam prodi sebelum melangkah dalam lingkup perkuliahan. Sebelum mengulik daftar jurusan di Batam Tourism Polytechnic yang ada di Kota Batam ini, akan kami sampaikan dahulu mengenai apa itu fakultas dan jurusan.

2. Fakultas

Definisi dalam KBBI menyatakan bahwa fakultas merupakan  " Bagian perguruan tinggi tempat mempelajari suatu bidang ilmu yang terdiri atas beberapa jurusan dan dipimpin oleh dekan " . Sesuai uraian diatas dapat diambil kesimpulan bahwa Fakultas merupakan bagian dari universitas yang didalamnya menaungi jurusan yang sama dalam cakupan ilmunya. Seperti halnya Fakultas Ekonomi dan Bisnis yang didalamnya terdapat Jurusan seperti Kewirausahaan, Ekonomi Pembangunan, Ekonomi Syariah dsb. Agar mempermudah kita dalam memahaminya, jadi Perguruan Tinggi (UNIMAL, UNIMED, Universitas Serambi Mekkah) menjadi wadah bagi banyak Fakultas (Fakultas Teknik, Fakultas Pertanian, Fakultas Syariah). Sedangkan Fakultas sendiri mewadahi untuk beberapa Jurusan yang memiliki satu frekuensi (Teknik Arsitektur, Teknik Material, Teknik Logistik).

Batam Tourism Polytechnic collaborates with the Hospitality Vocational School in Riau Islands through the "Grow With Us - SKA Hospitality Training Camp" training activity

Batam Tourism Polytechnic plays a role in improving the knowledge and skills of Indonesian vocational human resources, one of which is the Vocational School educator in the field of Tourism and Hospitality in the Riau Archipelago. In line with this, in an effort to support this program, Batam Tourism Polytechnic took the initiative to collaborate with Tourism or Hospitality Vocational Schools in the Riau Islands through the "Grow With Us - SKA Hospitality Training Camp" training activity to increase the mutualism symbiosis of increasing the competence of vocational educators as a fulfillment of the vision universities in Tridharma activities. In an effort to realize this vision, this program can be used as a means of disseminating the work of thought and training of the academic community at the Batam Tourism Polytechnic to environmental vocational schools with the aim of achieving superior quality human resources in the field of tourism and hospitality vocational.

Furthermore, this project is also a part of the work plan for the Batam Tourism Polytechnic Cooperation and Student Affairs for the even semester of 2021-2022 which God willing, the results can be an academic and vocative service event for the Batam Tourism Polytechnic in supporting the accreditation of the Batam Tourism Polytechnic to a higher level. higher education as we desire, namely to superior accreditation and supporting the Vocational Higher Education Vocational High School program by the Director General of Vocations, Ministry of Education and Culture

This program is also a form of real action by Erica (Empowering Polytechnic Leaders in Indonesia) as one of the leadership capacity trainings among universities which was held on 6-10 December 2021 which was aimed at structural officials of private polytechnics in Indonesia. This activity is also the result of an international competitive program grant initiated by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and The German Rectors' Conference (HRK) through the University of Postdam, Germany.

After the completion of Project Erica, it is hoped that the Batam Tourism Polytechnic can get international recognition as one of the Polytechnics that supports the development of Indonesian Vocational HR and it is hoped that later it will also receive a grant from the German DAAD as a reward for the successful implementation of the "Grow With Us - SKA Hospitality Training Camp" program.

The purpose of this activity is to improve the knowledge and skills of teachers in Tourism Vocational High Schools and Hospitality. Trained Tourism & Hospitality Vocational High School teachers in knowledge and skills by Batam Tourism Polytechnic lecturers in their training activities and build dynamic participation of Batam Tourism Polytechnic lecturers where the knowledge gained from "Hospitality Camp" can be utilized in adding to the treasures of applied knowledge in schools respectively and also as a means of promotion of the Batam Tourism Polytechnic. The “Grow with Us – SKA Hospitality Training Camp” training activity will consist of two parts, namely: (a) activities for providing material for off-line classes from BTP training. (b) practical activities where these activities take place for 2 days at the BTP campus and a visit to Beverly Gotel to see firsthand how the hospitality industry is from services, rooms and other facilities.
