You will also need to provide sufficient support documents that will help you to validate that the information shared by you in your visa application form is authentic. Collate all your supporting documents and keep them well-structured and organized.

You must visit your nearest Belgium embassy or consulate in your country of residence to submit your visa application form and supporting documents. Your visa application process can also vary if you apply from different regions.

Once you have completed your visa application form and collated all supporting documents, you must schedule an appointment via email or physically present to deliver them.

You can extend your Belgium visa, but this will be considered an exceptional case under genuine circumstances and totally under the discretion of the immigration authorities. The most common reasons for extension are humanitarian, force majeure, and medical. Considering the extension timeline for processing, you should look to extend your visa well in advance.

If your previous visa application was rejected, you can look to re-apply for your Belgium visa. Ensure you do not repeat the mistakes that led to your earlier rejection. There are several cases of why the visa is rejected. Make sure you understand the process well. Take the help of a visa travel buddy who can guide and mentor you throughout your visa journey, giving you much better clarity and understanding about the various milestones and overall process. Repeating the same mistakes can lead to further hindrances to your travel requirements.

If you are completely confident that you have provided all accurate information and followed the process diligently, you can look to appeal against your visa rejection.

Belgium is one of the most underrated countries in Europe, mainly because of its posh neighbours France and Netherlands. And there is also a rumour surrounding Belgium that it is one of the most boring countries in the world. But the reality is something else. Belgium is a hidden gem of Europe, giving you an extremely new travel experience. Even though the country is small, it’s history and cultural diversity make it an add-on to your travel buck list. If you haven’t visited the country, I must say that you are missing one of the most significant travel experiences you cannot have anywhere else. So take a Belgium tourist visa from Dubai and gift yourself some of the most beautiful moments in life. If you have yet to decide, the article below will give you an idea about what the country has in store for you. So let’s begin.

Why visit Belgium?

A common misconception among travellers is that there is not much to explore in Belgium. I also had the same opinion till I visited this marvellous country. After experiencing them all, I want the whole world to know about this beautiful country whose limelight has been stolen for some unknown reason. Here I will give you enough reasons that will make you rethink your decision not to visit this incredible country.

Picturesque Towns

The first and foremost reason to visit Belgium is its incredible architecture and picturesque small towns on the lakes. It is impressive to see how even its biggest city Antwerp has so much to offer in terms of scenery despite its colossal size. Bruges town is another popular tourist attraction whose charm and quaintness will make you stay in this place forever. The peak season is usually summer, when the streets are filled with tourists. Winter season is also a busy season, thanks to the Christmas festivity. Ghent is another city you must not miss out on at any cost. It takes hardly 20 minutes by train from Bruges to reach Ghent. It is, in fact, a student city and a popular hangout place for youngsters. Belgium has a coffee culture, which you can find in every town.

Belgian Waffles

Is there even a person in this world who hasn’t tried Belgian waffles at least once in their lifetime? But the one you have attempted in your hometown or other countries does not match the ones available in Belgium. So, if you want to experience the taste of waffles, come to Belgium. You have no other choice.

Belgian fries

Now, let me make this very clear you will not get better frites or fries in any part of the world other than Belgium. This comfort food is the national food of Belgium and has a great taste because of their secret recipe. One thing we know about their fries is that they double fry or even triple fry to get that heavenly taste. While having them, please don’t skip the ketchup or mayonnaise that comes along with it. They are the things that give more flavour to the fries.

A perfect relaxation station

When it comes to tourism, Belgium has always taken the back seat, mainly because of its weather and slow pace. And there is also a stigma surrounding Belgium that it is a boring country and there is little to explore there. But to be frank, it is what makes the country exceptional. So, if you are looking for a happening place like France and Netherlands, Belgium may not be your cup of tea. But if you want to take a break and relax, there is no better option than Belgium. This place offers you the much-needed break that you have been longing for quite a long time.

Incredible architecture

One cannot leave Belgium without describing its incredible architecture. You can rightly say it is one of the best in Europe. However, if you want to feel its essence, Grote Market is the right place to visit. Some of its buildings will take you back to the former era.

Comic culture

If you are a comic lover, you have to visit Brussels in Belgium. Belgians are so fond of comics that you can see bright displays of comic murals in almost all of their architecture. And the best part is that these arts sync perfectly with the surroundings. For example, the famous cartoon character Tin-Tin is a common sight here.

Belgian Beer

Can you enjoy frites all alone? There should be something that goes along with it, right? Belgian beer is the perfect match for the frites. Beer is not just a drink in Belgium; it is part of their emotion. It comes in different delights in Belgium and can be enjoyed in all seasons. Restaurants serving beers also have special offers to ladies-only groups. So if you want to avail of this offer, it would be better to send your husband, boyfriend or partner to a nearby store and enjoy it to the maximum.

Cultural diversity

One of the most important things that sets Belgium apart from the rest of the others is its cultural diversity. Technically speaking, the country is divided into two- the Dutch-speaking Flemish in the North and the French-speaking Wallonia in the South. However, Brussels is even more diversified. Since it is the capital of the European Union, migrants come in large numbers here. Hence you can find diversity in culture, particularly in this place.

Christmas Markets

Nowadays, Christmas markets can be found in almost every part of Europe. But the most beautiful ones are in the small Belgian towns, where you can just roam around, eat, drink and chill out.

Vegetarian capital of the world

When I first heard about the vegetarian capital of the world in Belgium, I was sure that I had to explore more about it. It is a small town in Ghent in, Belgium, which is highly vegetarian-friendly. They even have a Veggie Thursday, in which they even encourage non-vegetarians to ditch their favourite meal and have only vegetables for one day a week. In addition, many vegetarian restaurants in Ghent offer mouthwatering dishes that you must not miss at any cost.

Easy and affordable train travel

Belgium is a tiny nation and has well-equipped train connectivity. For example, it takes only one hour to reach Ghent and Bruges from Brussels. Similarly, more prominent cities like Antwerp are an hour away from the capital. Belgium also has excellent connectivity to the rest of Europe, and its nearest stations are Paris and Amsterdam.

Places to explore in Belgium

From fries to delicious chocolate, natural beauty and picturesque medieval towns, Belgium offers something or the other to its visitors. Below are some of the best places in Belgium you can explore on your next trip.

The capital of Belgium, Brussels, is famous for street foods, museums and shopping. Since it is a part of the European Union and NATO, it is home to multicultural people. Its museums are a must-visit for art lovers. You can spend your whole day wandering in museums like the Royal Museum of Fine Arts of Belgium, the Magritte Museum, the Boghossian Foundation, and BOZAR. In Brussels, you can also find many architectural extravaganzas, like the Grand Palace and Maison Cauchie. Please note that this UNESCO World Heritage site is open to the public only on the first weekend of the month with reservations. The place is also a paradise for shopaholics where you can go for affordable vintage shopping in Brussels Flea market and open-air antique market. Brussels is also where you can get the best traditional Belgian cuisine. Its street foods are world-famous, and it has a variety of food options. And those who have a sweet tooth can try out the Belgian waffles, another delicacy of Belgium.

If you are looking for a romantic getaway, Bruges is the place. It feels nothing short of a fairytale. The city is adorned with an intricate network of tree-lined canals, well-preserved buildings and cobblestone streets, which makes it incredibly charming. Its medieval architecture looks more like a gingerbread house, thanks to the gothic bricks used to construct them. In addition, Bruges was also the birthplace of Flemish Primitive painting. You can experience Bruges in its proper form when you move at a leisurely pace. You can wander barefooted among the Old Town, enjoying the City Squares, the Mkt and the Burg. A canal boat ride will give you a general idea about this city and its beauty. Cycling is another option for exploring this beautiful place. Sip a Belgian beer in one of the corners of the city and experience the slow movement of life around you.

Namur Province

Namur Province, also known as the Land of Valleys, is famous for nature, forts and river views. This Province is situated in the Wallonia region, surrounded by lush greenery, cliffs, rivers and rolling farm hills. You can take many postcard-perfect pictures here; it is a perfect day trip destination. Here you can roam around the riverside town, ride the cable car up to the fortress and cruise along the river to enjoy the place’s scenic beauty. If you want to taste exceptional cuisine, you can head straight to Liernu, a small-town hub of tranquillity. You can now move on to Namur City, the capital of the Province and the region. Europe’s one of the largest citadel houses here and also has the adults-only Musee Felican Rops to its credit, which exhibits the work culture of the 19th-century Belgian artist.

Belgium’s second-largest city, Antwerp, is home to the world-famous Royal Academy of Fine Arts Antwerp. It is basically known for fashion and design. Some of the top fashion brands and designers come from this place. Here you can find unique fashion shops of Dries Van Noten’s Het Modepaleis and Ann Demeulemeester’s sleek, black-and-bone-white flagship store. This fashion district also constitutes more trendy shops in the Nationalestraat and Kammenstraat areas which are with visiting. An innovative Fashion Museum in Antwerp was also inaugurated recently here. Apart from fashion, one thing distinguishing Antwerp from the rest is its contrasting architectural styles. Lately, there has been an enormous spike in the contemporary styles amidst the medieval buildings, which adds more beauty to this place. Take your time to experience the beauty of Antwerp.

Ghent is a perfect place for a quick weekend getaway. It has the best features of Belgium- medieval architecture, winding canals, cobblestone alleyways and enviable museums, which are aligned with several restaurants and shops. But what makes Ghent stay ahead of the rest of the crowd is its student population. All over Ghent, you can find young, beating hearts among the country’s oldest urban areas. If you start exploring further, you will find many unconventional creative communities, flourishing musical troupes, and strictly plant-oriented restaurants, making it the world’s vegetarian capital. People here observe Thursday as a vegetarian day and ditch all other non-vegetarian options at that time. Ghent’s music has also caught the attention of the world with its unique taste. Its music ranges from classical performances to live music concerts. You can enjoy them by sipping Irish coffee at one of its street restaurants.

8 Amazing things to do in Belgium

Belgium visa from Dubai

Belgium is often overlooked because of its neighbors, France and the Netherlands. Others believe that Belgium is boring to visit, which is false information. Conversely, Belgium is a hidden gem for exploring new experiences in Europe. Despite the country being small, it has so much to offer, and below is a list of the best amazing things to do in Belgium.

1. Enjoy the beach in Ostend.

You can visit Belgium for a vacation and enjoy the beach in Ostend. Ostend's main beach stretches as far as the eye can see, while the harbor's docks and several moles may be seen in one direction from the far end of Visserskaai. Hundreds of people travel into town on bright summer days in Belgium to enjoy the beach and partake in customary seaside pastimes like kite flying and sandcastle building. Swimming and tanning are two more popular activities in Belgium.

2. Go kayaking and hiking in the Ardennes.

Kayaking and hiking in the Ardennes are among the best outdoor activities in Belgium. Dinant is a great place to start if you're looking for a place to try out some sports, with its proximity to two rivers (the broad and slow River Meuse and the lovelier River Lesse) and its forested hillsides. You should include kayaking on the River Lesse, a wilder and more beautiful river than the River Meuse, on your list of things to do in Belgium.

3. Explore Bruges

If you're seeking things to do in Belgium, you must visit Bruges, a city sure to captivate you with its medieval architecture, museums, and canals.

The two main squares—the Markt, dominated by the massive belfry, and the Burg, bordered by the most remarkable architectural ensemble of the city—are the ideal starting points for a tour of the city.

4. Visit Brussels’ Grand Place

The Brussels Grand Place is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the city's center square, and it is home to the town hall. It is situated near the headquarters of the European Union.

If you are looking for things to do in Belgium, this is the most important location and one of the most popular tourist attractions. In addition to the City Museum and the luxurious Guildhalls, the area is surrounded by the city's Town Hall.

5. Trip to Amsterdam from Brussels

The ideal day excursion from Brussels would be to visit Amsterdam, the capital of the Netherlands, which is just a couple of hours away. From its famous museums to its canals and, of course, the Red Light District, the Dutch city offers a lot to tourists.

Sightseeing tours across Amsterdam's many historic landmarks, including some lesser-known treasures and other remarkable locations like the Anne Frank House, are available, similar to those in Bruges.

Amsterdam is a popular European tourist destination thanks to its charming canals, interesting culture, and the world-famous green herb.

6. Discover Charleroi

Charleroi was once a center for business, but now it's a lively outdoor gallery that shows off-street art. Murals and graffiti art have brought life back to the city's urban environment, making it a haven for people who love modern art. Watch the power of thought to change the identity of a city! Murals in the city, like Lucky Luke, are must-see sights.

The Bois du Cazier is the next stop. It is a museum about the area's industrial past on a former mine site. Walking along the Sambre River or looking around the city's shopping areas is a last treat before bed.

7. Sail through the tree-tops at Dinant Aventure.

The Parc Dinant Aventure is an outdoor adventure park located in Wallonia, overlooking the Lesse and Meuse Valley, and it offers breathtaking views of the hills in the surrounding area. It offers various activities, like paintballing, laser hunting, and ziplines, to get your heart racing.

On an area formerly a sandstone quarry, the park is situated in the center of a forest on a land area spanning 18 hectares (44.5 acres). It is a Natura 2000 site, which means that it has been recognized for the incredible fauna that it contains.

Even though Belgium is not particularly well-known for its hills, the country does contain a number of excellent hiking paths. Thousands of well-known routes are available for you to select from.

There are some incredible chances for hikes across the country, and they are available for people of all different skill levels. These options include the Ardennes's verdant valleys, the castles close to Geraardsbergen, and the dune networks of Zwin.

9. Go caving in the Caves of Han.

The Caves of Han, also known as the "Grottes de Han," may be found in the southeast region of Belgium, immediately outside the village of Han sur Lesse. These cave systems, produced by the underground passage of the river Lesse through a limestone slope, are usually regarded as being among the most stunning cave complexes throughout the world.

When you visit Belgium, one of the most enjoyable things to do is to make reservations for a guided speleology tour in the Caves of Han. As you make your way through the vast halls and galleries of stone, you will have the opportunity to go back in time with experts in the rock formations. You will be able to explore all of the stalagmites and stalactites with them.

10. Discover Antwerp and Its Diamonds

Antwerp is a must-see, one of the best places to visit in Belgium. The city is particularly distinguished for its well-known Diamond Quarter. Up to 85% of the raw diamonds in the world have historically been cut and polished in this city. Even though a large portion of that labor has since been relocated, Antwerp remains one of the world's leading exporters of diamonds.
