Every Look From Beyoncé’s Renaissance Tour, From Custom Catsuits to Disco-Inspired Couture
Beyoncé’s Renaissance tour began with a bang in Stockholm and it hasn't slowed down since. The highly-anticipated show has featured inventive set design, a decades-spanning setlist, and a plethora of standout style moments—from to archival pieces to custom looks and nearly everything in between. The star’s wardrobe has combined her signature style with the visual ethos of the album Renaissance ( think lots of sequins, silver, catsuits, and the occasional bee-inspired look). Beyoncé has also been wearing looks from brands specific to the city she’s performing in—for the UK leg of her tour she wore picks from the London-based Mary Katrantzou and Robert Wun while in Marseille, France she opted for a look by designer Simon Porte Jacquemus.
The singer has donned looks from both established brands—Valentino, Mugler, lots of Alexander McQueen, among others—as well as smaller labels like Anrealage and Brandon Blackwood. Balmain catsuits and mini dresses have been a constant throughout her tour wardrobe (in March, she partnered with creative director Olivier Rousteing to design a Renaissance couture line for the brand ) as well as imaginative pieces from Loewe. Beyoncé began the tour in Europe which has seen her in London, Paris, and other cities with the last being Warsaw, Poland on June 28th. She will then head to North America with her last date coming in New Orleans, Louisiana on September 27th. Needless to say, there will be countless more style moments to come—so, to make sure you don’t miss one look, keep checking back here as we keep track of everything Beyoncé has worn during the Renaissance world tour.

Unlike her Marni look which was heavy on mixed metals, this custom Missoni ensemble was pure silver. Blue Ivy had on a matching jersey, too.
Sparkles and (faux) fur took center stage in this Philosophy di Lorenzo Serafini look. Her long sleeve bodysuit was embellished with Swarovski crystals and layered perfectly beneath the apricot coat.
The singer packed on the sparkle in this Miu Miu look during her stop in East Rutherford, New Jersey. She paired the set with a custom Tiffany & Co. silver peephole cowboy hat and HardWear drop earrings.
Louis Vuitton’s newly appointed creative director of menswear, Pharrell Williams, designed this glittering catsuit for Beyoncé’s Detroit, Michigan concert. The two have quite the history as long time friends and collaborators—Williams has produced songs for Beyoncé in the past and she recently attended his debut runway show for the French brand earlier this year. The custom bodysuit put a spin on the brand’s famed Damier check through glittering crystal embroidery. Williams also created custom ensembles for Blue Ivy and Beyoncé’s backup dancers.
Beyoncé looked like liquid gold in this hooded mesh gown from Ivy Park. The piece featured slight ruching at the waist and a dramatic side slit which showed off her daring footwear choice—a pair of Alaïa cabaret heels. This silver cut-out number may just be Beyoncé’s most disco-ready jumpsuit yet. Custom designed by Lanvin, the piece featured the brand’s signature gold hardware as well as ruching throughout. Twister Collar Necklace.
Beyoncé’s Acne Studios ensemble may have nailed the Barbie pink look, but it certainly did not disappoint during her Minneapolis show. She paired her reflective mini shorts and bustier with an oversized jacket and sparkling thigh-high boots.
Beyoncé’s Renaissance wardrobe isn’t just limited to bodysuits—she’s also been incorporating dramatic ensembles like this custom Schiaparelli mini dress and shawl. The strapless piece featured white feathered detailing which she paired with simple Dolce & Gabbana heels.
Balmain has been a focal point of Beyoncé’s Renaissance wardrobe and things got taken up a notch during her stop in Minneapolis. The singer opted for a sculptural latex bodysuit that she accessorized with knee-high boots, shield sunglasses, and a brimmed top hat.

It’s no secret that Beyoncé has been all in on the bodysuit style throughout her tour. But this custom Diesel look for her Louisville, Kentucky show may just be one of her most unique styles thus far. The trompe l’oeil look featured a print mimicking denim and grey crystals throughout. And to round things out, the piece’s boots and gloves were connected to the main portion of the ensemble.

Beyoncé donned this Dsquared2 bodysuit—complete with layers of dazzling embellishments and a plunging neckline—for the opening act of her Louisville concert.
Alexander McQueen was a staple throughout Beyoncé’s European performances, so it’s no surprise that she’s returned to the British brand when stateside. During her Nashville concert, the singer wore a custom bodysuit, gloves, and boots complete with crystal embroidery. She stopped it off with a UFO-shaped chapeau appropriate for an alien superstar. The outfit seemed to be a shorter version of a look she wore earlier on in the tour.
The singer opted for another dazzling custom look from David Koma. Unlike her previous printed mini dress from the British designer, this red number had plenty of sequins throughout as well as an asymmetrical train detail. She rounded things out with patent leather boots, a ruby belt, and pendant necklace.
The McQueen look wasn’t the only repurposed silhouette Beyoncé wore in Nashville. She opted for a pink Ivy Park jacket, halter top, and shorts that are, again, a shorter iteration of a similar bodysuit she previously wore in Europe. She also mixed in a pair of custom Tiffany & Co. sunglasses and Gedebe boots to make things even more Renaissance worthy.
Beyoncé certainly leaned into some drama (and disco) with this custom Valentino look in Philadelphia. The focal point was the seemingly never-ending sequined train that connected to the pouf bodice of the bodysuit. She paired the flashy piece with coordinating boots, and towards the end of the show, she flew above the crowd in this look while mounted on a horse.
The singer mixed in some more sequins in Philadelphia with this custom Givenchy mini dress. The piece featured intricately placed cut-outs as well as fringe throughout the dress. She rounded things out with strappy heels and sheer black opera gloves. She, of course, also had on diamonds from Tiffany & Co. in the form of a ring, drop earrings, and a tennis bracelet.
Beyoncé went with another camouflage look from her label Ivy Park, this one a two-piece set. The crop top had built in sleeve-gloves and the mini shorts also featured chaps-like detailing that extended into her boots.
Beyoncé has been wearing plenty of Tiffany & Co. jewelry throughout her tour, but she took it to another level for her first North American stop in Toronto, Canada. The singer donned a dazzling bespoke mini dress from the brand complete with layers of chains and stones. The mesh look of the piece was inspired by the designs of Elsa Peretti and took nearly 200 hours to make. Beyoncé paired the piece with custom Malone Souliers heels as well as vintage earrings and an anklet both from Tiffany & Co.
Also while in Toronto, the singer traded her layered mini dress for a dazzling custom Fendi gown. The piece is a riff on a similar look from the brand’s spring/summer 2021 couture collection and features a daring slit as well as crystal embroidery meant to imitate the appearance of honeycombs. She rounded out the look with another pair of clear heels and statement tassel earrings.
Leave it Beyoncé to make comouflage cool. During the Toronto stop of her tour, the singer wore a fully patterned ensemble from her brand Ivy Park. The look featured a cropped jacket, over-the-knee boots and a plunging bodysuit.
For the final stop of the European leg, Beyoncé went with a slew of sequined and silver ensembles while performing in Warsaw, Poland. This look, by Balmain’s Olivier Rousteing, featured a dramatic bodice that cascaded down her side as well as a daring slit at the skirt. The singer rounded out her look with velvet gloves and a pair of Manolo Blahnik heels.
While Beyoncé has had some pretty avant-garde outfits, this Richard Quinn number may be her most “Alien Superstar” yet. The look featured legging-style pants with large crystal embellishments as well as a peplum-inspired top finished with similar adornments. However, the focal point of the ensemble is certainly the UFO-like headpiece that obscured everything but the singer’s eyes.
Outfitting an entire crew and Beyoncé is certainly no small feat, but global brand Daily Paper seemed to be up for the task. During the "Opulence" section of her concert in Warsaw, Beyoncé donned an embellished black jumpsuit and reflective track jacket from the brand—which she paired with knee-high boots and one of her signature top hats. In addition to Beyoncé’s look, Daily Paper designed over 100 custom tracksuits for her crew and dancers, mostly in silver reflective nylon.
Just one night after sporting a similar hooded piece while in Paris, Beyoncé went with another veiled look, this time, for her concert in Hamburg, Germany. The ensemble is designed by Carolina Herrera creative director Wes Gordon and features a plunging bodysuit, sheer red tights, and a silk hood that connects at the head and arms. Of course, the singer also had on her signature opera gloves and glitzy earrings to round out the look.
Again in Hamburg, the singer chose a look from Ivy Park—one of a wider selection of pieces from an upcoming collection between her brand and Adidas. Naturally, backup dancer’s leotards matched her ruched mini dress and knee-high boots.
Ferragamo’s creative director Maximillian Davis designed this red glittering gown for the singer’s show in Amsterdam. In honor of Juneteenth, Davis was one of several Black designers that Beyoncé wore throughout the show.
This robo-couture custom Balmain look featured silver-plated detailing that paneled the singer’s bodysuit. She paired the piece, which drifted into gloves, with a pair of knee-high boots.
“In the industry where we have to all fight, I want to thank [Beyoncé’s] support last night [to] all the Black designers that had created their own space in this tough industry,” Balmain designer Olivier Rousteing said . “This was the celebration.”
This is the second all-red Off-White look worn by Beyoncé during her tour. Her second version, however, featured a shortened silhouette and an accompanying top hat that was designed by the brand’s art and image director Ibrahim Kamara.
For her second Balmain look in Amsterdam, Beyoncé went with another iteration of the bee-inspired catsuits we’ve seen repeatedly on her tour thus far. This time, she paired the ensemble with a coordinating top hat rather than her infamous insect-like antena.
New York designer LaQuan Smith crafted this silver, shattered glass bodysuit for the singer’s Amsterdam stop. She paired the plunging piece with an equally as disco-worthy cape and heels.
London-based brand Feben outfitted Beyoncé in a color-blocked catsuit. “Thank you for inviting me into your world,” the designer wrote on Instagram . “What an incredible moment to be a part of, and a pivotal one for myself, and my inner child. It means the world to be supported and seen as a Black female designer in the industry.”
This deep silver mini dress was the second look from Ferragamo the singer wore in Amsterdam. The look featured ruched detailing that drifted into a train and above-knee boots.
While Beyoncé has, seemingly, unlimited access to a never-ending roster of designers, she went with her own label Ivy Park for this pink look in Amsterdam—and rightly so. Designed by the star herself, the piece featured daring slits, opera-style gloves, and a halter neckline.
“I started designing this collection over a year ago,” she said on Instagram . “I was so engulfed in all things Renaissance and was inspired by Studio 54, Bob Mackie, and the disco era.”

Naturally, Dutch designer Iris van Herpen was a standout of Beyoncé’s wardrobe for her first night in Amsterdam. The custom look, which took over 700 hours to make, featured a flowing train paired with a sculptural mini dress.
Yes, you can always count on Beyoncé to wear a form-fitting catsuit. But this one by Lebanese designer had a handful of eye-catching details. The bodice was composed of various strands of rhinestones and crystals and the sheer portion wrapped entirely around her body (even down to her boots).
French designer Simon Porte Jacquemus is from Marseille, France so it’s fitting that he outfitted the singer for her tour stop there. Jacquemus, who attended the concert, designed a form-ftting mini dress, boots, and gloves that featured disco ball-esque paillettes.
“[Beyoncé] is the first singer I saw live in Marseille 15 years ago,” he wrote on Instagram . “I’m so happy and proud. What a night in Provence, means a lot.”
This custom gown by Alebrta Ferretti has an embroidered leotard and a gold draped train that cascades down the singer’s side. Beyoncé wore the eye-catching piece with matching knee-high boots and black opera gloves (which have been a running theme in many of her looks throughout the tour thus far).
Beyoncé went with a sparkling, disco-inspired Stella McCartney dress and stirrup leggings for her concert in Barcelona, Spain. The custom look was made of environmentally friendly materials such as silver lead-free crystals.
“It is a life moment to dress someone as iconic and inspiring as Beyoncé—a visionary pioneer, disruptor, and artist who has worked tirelessly to make the world a better place,” the British designer said. A pair of clear Amina Muaddi heels rounded out the ensemble.
The star wore a custom Fendi leather intarsia catsuit for her show in the Spanish city. It was paired with over-the-knee boots, matching gloves, and an upcycled fur cape inspired by illustrations by Antonio Lopez as seen in Fendi’s spring 2022 collection.
For her fifth and final show in London, Beyoncé wore a custom Mary Katrantzou surrealist mini dress with black and gold detailing. The look, meant to resemble a perfume bottle, also featured a custom Stephen Jones bottle top headpiece, latex boots, and gloves.
The 41-year-old singer opted for a dramatic “Black Blossom” Robert Wun look. The form-fitting ensemble featured a plunging blazer accented by ruffled sleeves and asymmetrical pleated detailing.
Beyoncé again went with another British label for her third London show, this time a custom Andreas Kronthaler for Vivienne Westwood look. The mini latex dress features corset-style detailing and sheer spiral sleeves.
Beyoncé wore a custom royal blue Roksanda number for her London show. The piece is a riff of a similar dress from the brand’s fall/winter 2023 collection.

The signature silver paillettes of Paco Rabanne fit perfectly into the visual aesthetic of Renaissance, so its no surprise the star opted for a piece from the brand. She wore a glitzy custom gown for her show in Paris.
The 41-year-old looked ethereal in a custom light blue gown by New York brand Brandon Blackwood. She paired the off-the-shoulder number with coordinating opera gloves and silver jewels.
Beyoncé chose a statement-making Off-White look for her London show. The red bodysuit features a bustier-style top and 40,000 red hotfix crystals throughout.
Ditching the catsuits that fill the latter half of her concert, Beyoncé has chosen a series of stunning gowns for the opening segment of her show. Here, she wore a white Valentino dress complete with a train and coordinating opera gloves.
The singer was worn several looks from London-based brand David Koma over the course of her tour—one of them being this asymmetrical mini dress that features glittering fringe and wide shoulders.
The star has worn a silver two piece set from Loewe for several of her tour stops. On top of the long sleeve, she layered a molded breastplate and rounded out the look will silver boots.

Beyoncé donned a color changing robe by Japanese brand Anrealage in what was one of the more experimental looks of the tour. The piece changed colors when exposed to UV lights and revealed a stained glass-like pattern.

Inside Beyoncé's 'Renaissance' world tour wardrobe – all her custom-made looks
As the tour wraps after 57 shows, we chart her unmissable tour wardrobe
And it's over. After 57 shows around the world, Beyoncé's much-celebrated Renaissance tour finally wrapped at the Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri, on 1 October. And, of course, throughout the course of its run, the impressive three-hour set featured an ever-rotating wardrobe of high-octane, custom-made looks.
The tour started in Stockholm on 10 May, before heading through Europe and then across Canada and the United States. The disco-themed show embodied everything from female empowerment to Black pride and, to match the high-energy album, Beyoncé performed in a series of glittering catsuits and striking metallic corsets by a string of luxury brands and designers like Alexander McQueen, Loewe, Gucci, Fendi and David Koma.
"For us, the designers, it is not just an amazing exposure but a wonderful cultural moment to be a part of," Koma told us, adding that Beyoncé herself is "exceptionally involved in all the details". The designer has worked with the singer – who he refers to as "a true artist and superwoman" – and her team on multiple occasions, so he said collaborating again felt "natural".
"A global tour like this is an incredible, culture-defining event," he said. "Having seen some of the videos from this tour – you just know it’s a once-in-a-lifetime magical performance that every attendee will remember forever... Considering the creativity that goes into putting on a show like that, it makes sense to work with designers for special couture and custom looks."
Fellow designer Iris van Herpen also expressed that creating for Beyoncé was a "huge honour". After crafting a beautiful silver gown (which took 12 people and 700 hours to make), the designer said: "In her epic Renaissance tour, Beyoncé embodies feminine empowerment. She symbolises that confidence radiates from within and that beauty thrives in diversity. Her style is a kaleidoscope of elegance that inspired me and my team in every stitch, every bead and every petal."
There's good news for those who weren't able to catch the tour in person, or who want to relive the magic from the night; Beyoncé has confirmed that a concert film is coming soon, featuring her personal highlights from the show, unseen backstage footage and an insight into the rehearsal process.
In the meantime, look back at Beyoncé's unmissable custom Renaissance tour wardrobe, here.
On the final night of her mammoth world tour, in Kansas City, Beyoncé took to the stage in a custom-made Balenciaga couture gown. The bustier dress featured more than 8,000 embroidered crystal rhinestones and was paired with black jersey opera gloves.
On the Houston leg of her tour, Beyoncé debuted this polka-dot Balmain dress, which was custom-designed for her by creative director Olivier Rousteing. She matched the pearl straps with a layered pearl collar necklace and added a pair of white opera gloves.
The patterned dress featured a thigh-high slit and oversized rose accent at the hip, and was designed as a preview of the brand's forthcoming spring/summer 2024 collection.
Agent Provocateur
In Dallas, the performer wore this tasselled Agent Provocateur outfit. The one-of-a-kind kind custom corseted suit consisted of a metal plated, boned body, covered with Swarovski crystals
Beyoncé went sporty in Telfar to perform in Seattle. She stepped out on stage in a red zip-up bodysuit, with matching arm warmers, chaps, a cap and sunglasses. Her back-up dancers also co-ordinated with her look, wearing Telfar ensembles with white over-the-knee boots.
Beyoncé added to her statement tour wardrobe in a custom denim look by Diesel, which she wore with Dolce & Gabbana sunglasses, to perform in Vancouver.
Beyoncé added to the drama of her Renaissance world tour in a beautiful purple Vera Wang gown with a matching hood and gloves. She finished off her ensemble with a pair of Saint Laurent pumps.
Beyoncé turned to her own label, Ivy Park, during the Vancouver leg of her tour. The singer wore a patterned bodysuit with a matching oversized hat, floating cape and over-the-knee black boots. She accessorised with Tiffany & Co sunglasses.
Beyoncé matched her shimmering Renaissance horse in a custom PatBO hand-beaded bodysuit with crystal fringe detailing, for her performance onstage in Vancouver. Shimmer and sequins have been a constant theme throughout her tour, to match her disco-themed album.
Beyoncé chose a custom Swarovski crystal Agent Provocateur catsuit to perform on her birthday in Inglewood, California. The singer also wore a sparkling veil and party hat to mark the special occasion.
Tamara Ralph
Beyoncé wore a beautifully designed Tamara Ralph couture gown, for her performance in Los Angeles. The star looked breathtaking in a pale pink off-the-shoulder gown, which featured Ralph's signature rosettes and ostrich feather sleeves. The gown took the house's artisans 450 hours to handcraft; it was originally shown exclusively this summer in Paris during Haute Couture Fashion Week.
On the same night, the global star relied on Tamara Ralph for another show-stopping outfit. In stark contrast to her previous delicate pink gown, Beyoncé wore a black velvet dress with gold crystal rose detail. She added to the drama of her ensemble with a matching cut-out hat and opera gloves. The look took more than 550 hours to make by Tamara Ralph's artisans.
Alexander McQueen
Beyoncé had fun with her tour wardrobe as she moved to San Fransisco – she turned to Alexander McQueen for a custom-made crystal and sequinned corset, complete with thigh-high black boots, black sunglasses and a mesh headpiece.
Beyoncé chose a show-stopping custom look from Mulger by Casey Cadwallader, to take her Renaissance world tour to Inglewood in California. The singer wore a chrome cage jacket, over a matching bodysuit with silver boots.
As the Renaissance tour rolled round to Los Angeles, the singer took to the stage in this fuchsia corseted Gucci dress in pleated pink satin, with built-in bodysuit, embroidered with crystal and pearl embellishment.
The singer added this colourful Pucci look to her tour wardrobe, designed by Camille Miceli, featuring the brand's famed 'Giardino' archival print. The outfit was finished with a matching cap and statement body chain.
For another of her Los Angeles shows, Beyoncé debuted this custom-made Loewe bodysuit in technical printed satin jersey with all-over appliqué crystals.
The bodysuit featured a 3D-printed balloon bra in red chrome finish.
Marc Jacobs
The singer looked to Marc Jacobs for one of her San Francisco outfit changes, wearing this black sequin corset dress with a red neck scarf and Swarovski crystal platform boots.
Marine Serre
Beyoncé and her dancers wore Marine Serre bodysuits for the performance in Las Vegas. The silver suit featured the brand's recognisable moon print, and had a dramatic red overlay.

It should cost a billion to look this good, and judging by every stunning look worn by Beyoncé on her worldwide Renaissance Tour , it just might have.
The stylish stunner turned heads all Summer ’23 with her immaculate stage show, impressing audiences with grande production, powerful vocals, and a wardrobe made to dazzle beneath disco lights. Representing for both fashion ‘s biggest names and lesser-known artisans, to call the collection impressive would be an understatement. Bey and her fellow performers donned over 140 looks as she journeyed from Sweden (where she debuted the unforgettable LOEWE bodysuit) to Kansas City, where she wrapped up the tour this weekend ahead of announcing a new film based on the historic trek.
Thanks to the hard work of stylists Shiona Turini, Julia Sarr-Jamois, Karen Langley and KJ Moody, Beyoncé was able to showcase a new level of style that felt both fresh and familiar, citing classic looks from music videos and past performances, all while requiring the absolute best from fashion houses like Jimmy Choo , Fendi, Versace, Marc Jacobs, Pucci, Gucci, and more. Bey was also certain to highlight Black designers , including Feben, Maximilian Davis for Ferragamo, Olivier Rousteing for Balmain, Ibrahim Kamara for Off-White, LaQuan Smith and her own Ivy Park creations.
Every look surely involved high attention to detail to execute, making it almost impossible to analyze and rank so many amazing ‘fits. Still, we did exactly that, ranking these custom masterpieces from good-to-absolutely breathtaking.

I’m proud to be among the very talented Black designers featured in last night’s show to celebrate Juneteenth .”

Although Beyoncé's vocals stole the show during each tour stop, fans were also mystified by her high fashion . Vogue reported that Beyoncé's tour stylists included Shiona Turini, Julia Sarr-Jamois, Karen Langley, and KJ Moody. Beyoncé wore more than 140 outfits throughout the tour, according to Vibe .
Here are 19 of Queen Bey's most daring ensembles during the record-breaking tour.
During her Stockholm stop in May, Beyoncè premiered a shimmering catsuit by Loewe, which set the internet ablaze.
The Renaissance World Tour kicked off in May, where Beyoncé performed her song "Virgo's Groove" onstage in a shimmering sleeveless catsuit adorned with hand silhouette designs and elbow-length black gloves.
According to Loewe's website , creative director Jonathan Anderson created a series of stage looks that played on "sculptural forms, trompe l ́oeil and body illusion."
Per the Beyoncé fan account @beyzhive , the ensemble was inspired by " The Birth of Venus ," a 15th-century work of art by Italian artist Sandro Botticelli, Complex reported . The outfit appeared each night, and the singer also wore a silver and red iteration of the famous catsuit during the tour .
Beyoncé channeled her inner "Queen Bey" while performing "America Has a Problem" in London this May.
One of Beyoncé's most iconic looks was the Mugler custom-made bumble bee-inspired fit she wore during her five-night tour stop in London. Like the Venus-inspired catsuit, the Mugler ensemble became a fan favorite, and Beyoncé wore the outfit on multiple stops throughout the tour.
The structural black-and-yellow bodysuit featured black thigh-high boots and a headpiece meant to mimic a bee's antennas.
Beyoncé also wore an "Alien Superstar" bodysuit during her London performance.
Beyoncé is known for wearing leotards, but her silver bodysuit in London elevated her tour style. The singer's outfit was designed by the French fashion house Courrèges.
Onstage, metal pieces designed to look like robot limbs revealed Beyoncé's outfit, featuring strategic cutouts along the abdomen and left shoulder. The outfit was topped with a halo headpiece that looked ethereal. TikToker @ semmievm shared the moment in a video this May.

Feben designed the red, white, gold, and black catsuit.
Beyoncé's bejeweled outfit — featuring a dramatic low-brim hat — stood out among her tour collection during a June performance in Warsaw.
On June 27, Beyoncé performed while wearing an eye-catching fit designed by Richard Quinn.
The long-sleeved top, with a peplum waistline, was paired with matching pants and an oversize hat as the piece pièce de résistance. The entire ensemble was adorned with large jewels.
Beyonce wore a minidress designed by Tiffany & Co. during a July tour stop in Toronto.
During her two-night stint in Toronto, Beyoncé wore a custom-made Tiffany & Co. Elsa Peretti mesh dress.

In July, Beyoncé performed for fans for two nights in Chicago wearing a silver catsuit by Marine Serre with circuit wire-themed designs across the fabric. It also featured gear-like adornments across the front and a slick, wide-brimmed hat.

‘I Knew I Had to Come Correct’: Beyoncé Fans Are Going All In on DIY Renaissance Tour Looks
By André-Naquian Wheeler
Throughout her Renaissance world tour, which kicked off last month, Beyoncé has worn a staggering, ever-changing array of custom outfits by the upper echelon of fashion brands: Loewe, Mugler, Valentino, Vivienne Westwood, David Koma, Alexander McQueen, and on and on. It’s abundantly clear that Beyoncé is in her fashion era right now. Turns out, her fans are too.
Nerrisa Pratt, who lives in Farnborough in the UK and attended one of the tour’s five London dates, busted out her sewing machine shortly after watching clips of the tour’s first show on social media. She decided to re-create the sparkly flesh-toned Loewe bodysuit, designed by Jonathan Anderson, that Bey wears during the show. Pratt, who says she started making her own clothing due to a lack of options for her six-foot-one frame, made creative use of “glittery dance spandex and a cosplay Harley Quinn pattern from Simplicity” for the re-creation. Next, she used Photoshop to trace the bodysuit’s trompe l’oeil hands, which playfully decorate Beyoncé’s figure, and then cut out copies on vinyl.
“I’m a huge Beyoncé fan, and each time she enters a new era, it always really resonates with me. It’s just too easy to get caught up in her,” Pratt says. The entire process took her five days to complete. Pratt credits her creative bout to TikTok. Other fans showed off their impressively intricate DIY designs, which included sequined cowboy hats, fringe Western jackets, and beaded hand fans. Seeing them, Pratt started to feel pressure to deliver a strong look.
“I knew I had to come correct,” the 32-year-old said. And she did. A TikTok spotlighting the final ensemble has received more than 700,000 views .
Pratt is not the only member of the BeyHive fan club turning into a DIY designer of sorts. Across social media, fans are tapping into Renaissance ’s one-of-one ballroom-inflected aesthetics with homemade looks (or perhaps lewks is the better word here). But their creativity extends past the concert they attend. They’re also dishing out custom commissions for others.
Have an extra $300 lying around (even after securing Renaissance seats)? For that price, artist and Beyoncé fan Anthony Lee Pittman will paint a hyperrealistic image of the singer onto a leather jacket for you. Or for free, you can follow a DIY tutorial on how to sand down the edges on a piece of made-at-home body armor . Or for $320, designer Kayla Monroe will craft a “comfortable and lightweight” breastplate inspired by the “I’m That Girl” teaser for you.
TikTok content
This content can also be viewed on the site it originates from.
There are plenty of customers out there. “I’ve had 14 people purchase the breastplate specifically for the Renaissance tour,” Monroe said.
More than an eye-catching statement, the clothes are the perfect vehicle for connecting with fellow fans. When Pittman, who lives in Compton, California, flew out to Beyoncé’s Paris show, he wore one of his jackets. He received a wave of spirited reactions.
“I’m really shy and introverted, so it was definitely outside my comfort zone,” Pittman told Vogue . “But just being able to be out there with the Hive—everyone appreciated it and was hyping me up. It made me feel a lot more comfortable to show the jacket off and the look and everything.”
One potentially risky part of choosing a re-creation of a specific Renaissance tour outfit: Beyoncé could replace it with another one by the time your tour stop comes around. The singer has whizzed through pieces as the tour has progressed, even bringing 41 custom pairs of Jimmy Choos along with her.
Some fans, however, see the steady changes as a healthy challenge. “It really keeps everything feeling fresh and exciting to me,” Pratt said. “I’m genuinely considering buying another ticket so I can do it all over again.”

All of Beyoncé’s Met Gala Fashion Through the Years
By Kase Wickman
There’s a reason that Beyoncé has been coronated Queen Bey: What she’s primarily known for is excellence. Whether she’s releasing music, touring the world, or walking the steps of The Metropolitan Museum of Art for the Costume Institute’s annual Met Gala, Beyoncé absolutely rules.
Since her debut at the yearly gala in 2008, Bey has been a highlight of the event’s best-dressed lists. At 26 years old, the singer first walked the carpet in a strapless powder pink Armani Privé gown, just a month after marrying Jay-Z in a secret ceremony.
Since that debut, however, the artist has gotten bolder with her looks. There was 2011’s Emilio Pucci mermaid dress that was so tight she needed significant help getting up the stairs, and there was 2015’s barely there Givenchy gown, sheer but for clusters of strategically placed crystals.
Between 2012 and 2016, which marked her last appearance at the Met Gala, Beyoncé achieved a five-year streak of wearing Givenchy gowns to the event, most recently donning a peachy latex gown featuring puffed shoulders for a decidedly different take on the year’s sci-fi “Manus x Machina” theme.
Ahead, take a look at all of Beyoncé’s Met Gala looks over the years.

Beyoncé effect: Cowboy Carter album puts Levi’s on fashion hotlist
Influence of the ‘culture shaper’ is a potential goldmine for the jeans brand, but effect won’t last forever, say observers
“Denim on denim on denim on denim,” sings Beyoncé on Levii’s Jeans, one of the standout tracks of her new album, Cowboy Carter. And it appears fans are taking the statement to heart.
In the week after the album’s release, the clothing company Levi Strauss & Co noted a 20% rise in footfall at stores across the US and a 20% increase in its share price . In the UK, John Lewis report that searches for “women’s Levi’s jeans” were up 263% since the record was announced.
Beyoncé is also endorsing double – or, going by her lyrics, quadruple – denim. She posted an image on Instagram of her wearing a pair of jeans with denim shirt and a denim bag. The Instagram account @databutmakeitfashion, which covers consumer behaviour in relation to style, report that the mentions of double denim were up 14% on social media since Cowboy Carter’s release.
Double denim – sometimes known as the Canadian tuxedo – has long been a divisive look. It’s either seen as the epitome of bad taste or perfect cowboy style. It’s the latter that Beyoncé is leaning into. Lil Nas X, Lizzo and Harry Styles have also experimented with cowboy style, and Pharrell Williams’s latest collection for Louis Vuitton had a western theme. Cowboy-core, meanwhile, has become an aesthetic on TikTok.
Levi Strauss have embraced the megastar nod – temporarily changing its name on Instagram to Levii’s as a tribute. Speaking on a conference call last week, the chief executive, Michelle Gass, emphasised the brand’s position at the heart of culture. “I don’t think there’s any better evidence or proof point than having someone like Beyoncé, who is a culture shaper, to actually name a song after us,” she said.
Arguably, both the singer and the jeans are American classics. “Levi’s, the original Americana brand, feels like a natural fit” for Beyoncé to reference, said Sheena Butler-Young, a senior correspondent at the platform the Business of Fashion. “It … has just the right mix of classic and affordable – but not cheap.”
Natalie Dickson is the head of women’s luxury brand partnerships at Flannels, a retailer the singer collaborated with on the 2023’ Renaissance tour.
“Beyoncé has a really unique ability to influence trends with her work,” said Dickson. “Brands can really capitalise on riding the wave of Beyoncé’s influence – as we’re seeing with Levi’s at the moment.”
In Summer Renaissance, the last track on her 2022 album, Renaissance, the star took on handbags . “This Telfar bag imported,” she sings. “Birkins? Them shit’s in storage.” Vogue Business reported searches for Telfar on the resale site The RealReal jumped by 85% on the day the album was released.
Butler-Young warns that the Beyoncé effect will not last for ever for Levi’s. To continue “revenue success”, she said, a key task is to “excite and court younger shoppers with marketing and products, which Beyoncé certainly helps, and broaden its appeal beyond a singular staple. Beyoncé, in many ways, placed the proverbial ball in their court, it’s up to Levi’s to execute.”

Musicians Are in Their Eras Era
From Taylor Swift to Madonna to Missy Elliott, stars are increasingly blurring the lines between past and present.
Every item on this page was chosen by an ELLE editor. We may earn commission on some of the items you choose to buy.
There was a time, not so long ago, when the term “era” brought to mind strictly academic concepts: a scale to measure the Earth’s geological time; a system for classifying sweeping events of human history; a theoretical timeline of our known universe.
If this trend has a progenitor, it’s Taylor Swift : The musician’s career-spanning Eras Tour is reportedly the highest-grossing tour of all time. “Branding it as the Eras Tour and doing a greatest-hits run pulled in so many people, because you go to a show and it’s so clear how many fans came from the country years, and how some didn’t become Swifties until Reputation ,” says Elana Fishman, Page Six style editor and bona fide Swiftie. And Swift didn’t just revisit those eras musically; she also paid homage to the aesthetics of each album cycle, whether through a Reputation -era snake slithering across a Roberto Cavalli catsuit or a sequined matching set that called back to her 1989 persona.
Of course, Swift didn’t invent the idea of tying fashion to different album cycles—that would be Madge, the Queen of Pop herself. Madonna committed to changing everything—from hairstyle to makeup to wardrobe—for each new record cycle, as if creating characters, in a way that few have achieved before or since. “Other artists have also had eras, but they may have had the same hair color throughout all of them. It doesn’t really count,” says creative director and stylist Shannon Stokes, who’s worked with Beyoncé , Rihanna , and SZA . “To me, those are great, and those can still be considered eras, but as a true textbook, you always have to go to Madonna.”
For Stokes, creating and revisiting these visually disparate eras isn’t just useful in distinguishing album cycles, it also creates a fuller picture of the artists themselves. Fans feel more connected to a multifaceted musician. “When you’re doing everything properly, people get to see who you are in all different [areas] of your life: your sexual sides, your fun sides, your vulnerable sides, your introspective sides,” he explains. “It creates a stronger bond, because that fan base feels like they know you more, seeing all sides of your personality.”
It’s notable that there are very few male artists playing with visual identity in quite the same way. While there are some, like Harry Styles or Lil Nas X, dabbling in tying fashion to album cycles, Paul McCartney isn’t exactly hauling out a Sgt. Pepper jacket on his tours. Maybe female stars feel more pressure to constantly reinvent themselves. Or maybe they’re embarking on a high-stakes version of what we all do when embarking on a makeover. Whether it’s a post-breakup closet cleanse or a big-ticket luxury purchase to celebrate a milestone, our clothes reflect who we are at different moments in time—and revisiting those pieces can be liberating, not to mention a fun way of remembering our former selves.
“We, as regular people, have had eras too,” Stokes says. “It’s an evolution, but you still can differentiate the time periods when you were living a certain way and therefore dressing a certain way and doing certain things.” While she may not have invented the wheel, Swift has discovered how to put her own spin on it, keeping fans engaged in the process. She’s taught followers to hunt for clues about upcoming album cycles in her clothes, fueling speculation that Reputation (Taylor’s Version) would be her next re-release with a pair of Jimmy Choo x Jean Paul Gaultier boots—or announcing her latest album, The Tortured Poets Department , with a white Schiaparelli gown at the Grammys.
“A few months before the album rollout really starts, she’ll solidify what her aesthetic is going to be for that era,” Fishman says. “It keeps people hooked, because they’re decoding these clues and zooming in on Getty Images of her paparazzi walks and saying, ‘Is that a snake on her ring, or is it just a vine twisting?’ It becomes a real game.”
And while reinvention may still be all the rage among younger artists, one thing is for sure: There’s no longer a reason to fear history repeating itself. This article appears in the May 2024 issue of ELLE.

Recently, Beyonce shared a rare glimpse of her wash day routine in a unpolished video to promote her new haircare line, shocking many with an in-depth look at her real hair.
In February, she announced the line, Cecred, a collection of eight haircare products that use luxury ingredients and encourage a ritualistic practice to achieve healthy hair.
Inspired from her childhood experience of growing up sweeping inside her mother’s hair salon, Beyonce said she wanted to bring her mother’s “teachings to life”, according to the brand’s website.
News of the brand was met with excitement from fans, but also skepticism from some who felt as if she lacked credibility.
While performing and in public appearances, her hair is almost always tucked away in wigs or supplemented with weave extensions.
Apart from its function as a commercial for the products, the video also appears to be the singer’s way of addressing some of the backlash and doubt she has received.

What happened?
Early Monday morning, a video was posted on Beyonce’s Instagram profile featuring a close-up of the star’s long, curly hair being washed, conditioned, straightened and styled using Cecred products.
In the video, which was shared about two months after the brand’s debut, she said she was finally ready to show how it has helped her hair.
The name of the brand is a portmanteau combining the end of her name with the word “sacred”.
“It has been such a special experience seeing all of your #cecredwashday rituals all over my timeline,” she wrote in the caption. “I just had to join in with something I had in the archives.”
In the clip, Neal Farinah, Beyonce’s longtime hairdresser, parts and combs her hair in different directions, showing up close that it is indeed sprouting from her scalp.
“The stigma and misconception is that people who wear wigs don’t have long and healthy hair,” she said in a voice over, adding that the belief was not true.
Why are people obsessed with the length of Beyonce’s hair?
Beyonce’s hair has been scrutinised for years.
Usually spotted in wigs and braids, the pop star has mostly styled her hair with extensions, as many celebrities do. But her longtime use of weaves has made it hard for some to believe that her hair is as long as it appears in the video.
These claims have driven her fans, her hairstylist and even her mother, Tina Knowles, to attest publicly that Beyonce is wearing weaves by choice, not out of necessity.
In a since-deleted video shared on Instagram in 2019, Knowles combs through her daughter’s dark brown, waist-length hair in an effort to shut down rumours.
The video was reposted by Farinah, who captioned the video: “What weave, what wig, yes, yes, all natural.”
And in 2017, Knowles posted a photo on Instagram showing her daughter’s real blond hair in a low ponytail.
“Inches! So happy my baby’s hair grew back! She is going to get me,” she joked in the caption.

Do you need to have long hair to have a credible haircare brand?
While it certainly can help, no. For example, the founder of Sundial Brands, which is the manufacturer behind popular beauty brands like SheaMoisture and Nubian Heritage, is bald.
There’s a long-standing stereotype that Black women’s natural hair can grow only so long, leading some to believe that Black women wear weaves because they are pretending to have long hair or are assimilating to white beauty standards.
In reality, many Black women can grow long and healthy hair just fine, but the stigma persists.
Black women have long been pioneers of hair innovation, leveraging natural textures whose versatility can be used to create practically limitless different hairstyles.
Weaves and braids are also protective styles, since Afro-textured hair can take time and attention to style and maintain.
Braids and weaves can make visits to the pool or the gym more manageable, for instance, and having a protective style requires a lot less hair products to pack while travelling, saving luggage space.
When installed correctly and properly cared for, these styles can result in length retention by reducing daily hair manipulation.
Knowles later reposted a video featuring audio of comedian Katt Williams bragging about his long, natural hair without the use of a perm. The clip, which she shared on her Instagram account with a cheeky caption, included an image of Beyonce and her natural hair. – The New York Times

Tina Knowles Models 'Vintage' Destiny's Child's Tour Shirt She Swiped from Daughter Beyoncé's Closet

Beyoncé ’s fashion archives have got the one thing Tina Knowles wants — Destiny's Child merchandise.
The Grammy winner most likely has tons of bespoke designer pieces in her wardrobe, but her mom only has eyes for her early aughts band tees.
In an Instagram post shared on April 23, Knowles, 70, confessed that she had snagged a “vintage” Destiny’s Child shirt from her daughter’s closet for a day at the Cécred offices.
The T-shirt features a photo of Beyoncé, Michelle Williams and Kelly Rowland , as well as their signatures. It looks the memorabilia is from the R&B trio’s Destiny Fulfilled… and Lovin’ It world tour, which marked their last before the group disbanded in 2006.
Knowles paired it with a long-sleeve shirt underneath, dark-wash jeans and black boots.
“Stole this vintage T-shirt from @beyonce ,” Knowles wrote in the caption. “I gave it back though!”
Fans had lots of compliments to throw around in the comment section, with one writing, “Keep it Mama, it looks great on you.” Another fan couldn’t wrap their head around shopping in the Beyoncé’s closet. “Imagine stealing from Beyonce and it being allowed,” someone joked.

With Knowles teasing the “very Cécred day” she had in the same post, it also has us wondering what Beyoncé’s haircare brand is up to.
The company, of which Knowles is vice chairwoman, launched in February , but it has already been a huge hit within the Beyhive (and beyond).
Cécred debuted with the Foundation collection , an assortment of eight products — shampoo, scalp scrub, mask, conditioner, oil and treatments included — that cleanse, condition and strengthen hair of all textures and types.

When creating her much-awaited haircare line, Beyoncé was inspired by hair rituals from around the world and, of course, her mom, who formerly ran Headliners salon in Houston.
“So much of the fabric of who I am came from her salon,” Beyoncé told Essence . “That’s my foundation—and I think as an artist, so much of my bold experimentation with hair comes from being inspired by art and sculptures; getting creative with braids; figuring out new techniques; and exploring ways to maintain hair growth with protective styles and wigs, while still feeling fabulous. It all stems from my experiences growing up in my mother’s salon.”

For Beyoncé and Blue Ivy, fashion is a family affair.
The 42-year-old pop star toted an asymmetrical Aupen Purpose Bag ($180) in an Instagram video on Sunday — just months after her 12-year-old daughter carried the exact same “It” bag at the “Renaissance” film premiere in London.
The “Halo” singer styled hers in keeping with her “Cowboy Carter” aesthetic , pairing it with a Prada Bolo Tie ($550), Fleur Du Mal Vegan Leather Shorts ($225), Saint Laurent boots and a Stetson cowboy hat.

Meanwhile, Blue Ivy put a dressy spin on the look for her red carpet appearance last fall, going glam in a silk Versace dress.
The tween’s emerged as a style star in her own right over the years, whether taking the stage at the Grammys , starring in Ivy Park campaigns or dancing up a storm during the “Renaissance” tour .
But you won’t need a famous mom like Béyonce to shop the buzzy bag, as it’s currently in stock on the Brooklyn-based brand’s website; a slightly larger version, the Purpose Deluxe ($260), is also available.
The Carters are hardly the only famous folks obsessed with the Purpose; the in-demand design has also appeared on the arms of Hailey Bieber, Selena Gomez, Tracee Ellis Ross, Lindsay Lohan and Olivia Rodrigo (to name but a few).
Meanwhile, Taylor Swift’s carried the brand’s currently-sold-out Nirvana bag everywhere from Jack Antonoff’s wedding to date night with Travis Kelce .
“Influenced by art and architecture, we wanted to move away from the idea of perfection and embrace irregularity and to truly appreciate beauty with all its flaws,” the Aupen team, who prefer to remain anonymous, previously told Page Six Style of the label’s signature asymmetrical shapes.
