Great Tour Guides
What a fantastic tour! This is perfect for coffee lovers that are interested in knowing how coffee is grown in Costa Rica. Our guide, María, was fully engaging and knowledgeable. She toured us through the grounds and expertly taught us so much in an interactive way. We learned about the history of coffee, tasted various coffees from the region, picked beans, and even learned how to detect different flavors in the coffee like a true connoisseur! She is full of energy, and it felt like a VIP tour. Our second tour guide, Pedro López, picked us up in his van and took us to a different location for the waterfall tour. It began to rain pretty hard once we arrived, so we decided to just tour the grounds without making the trek down to see the waterfall. Pedro pivoted quickly and showed us the animals in the animal sanctuary. He also educated us on the fauna native to Costa Rica. With a smile on his face and "Pura Vida" personality, Pedro helped us make the most of this tour. It was definitely worth it.
Hi Patricia! Thank you so much for this awesome review! It makes us so glad that you had such a great time with us. I will share your comments with Maria and Pedro. Hope to see you again soon in Costa Rica! Pura vida!
I enjoyed the tour and tour guides very much. Both were very entertaining! Beautiful property! Lots of butterflies! I highly recommend visiting if you’re in the area.
Hello! Thank you for visiting our coffee plantation and for your kind comments. I'm glad to hear you had a great experience on our coffee tour! Thanks for also visiting also our butterfly garden! Hope to see you again and share with you our passion for coffee! Gracias!
Tour was OK. We had lunch at restaurant Don Prospero. Food was good. The billing was very confusing. Prices on the bill did not match prices on the menu. For instant if menu said 11,200 colones the bill said 14,462 colones. When we asked the waitress she explained that the menu showed a discount which was not in the computer, but that the total reflected the prices on the menu. We added items and the total was still higher. The waitress said that the total included sales and service taxes which were not itemized. If those taxes do not appear on the bill, is the company paying the service tax to the employees and the sales tax to the government? I felt bad for the waitress who had to explain the messy billing to the customers. The experience was very unpleasant and irregular.
We loved the two tour guides. They were funny and educational. We enjoyed the tour very much. The coffee shop was good too. Thank you!
Hello Desiree! It was a pleasure having you at our coffee tour! I will pass your comments to our guides/coffee experts! I hope to see you again soon here at Cafe Britt!
I have done quite a few coffee tours in Costa Rica but I have to say that I think this was the most entertaining and enjoyable The staff were really friendly and even made me a separate lunch to the one included as I was unable to eat it due to a food allergy, which was a nice touch and it didn't appear to be too much trouble for them I'd definitely give them 10/10
Hi N86XAsuec , So happy to hear that you had a nice time with us, learning the secrets behind a cup of gourmet coffee. it was our please preparing a separate lunch for you. We hope to see you here again soon! Thank you and pura vida!
Went with a 25-person study abroad group. Fantastic experience! The guides were knowledgeable and entertaining, the landscape was beautiful and well-kept, and the coffee (and food) were, of course, A-MAZING!! Kelly D

A Classic Costa Rican Coffee Tour at Cafe Britt

When our friend Lauren (a.k.a. the Altecocker ) was visiting Costa Rica on her 55th home exchange last year, we knew that we had to make the trip to San José to see her. But with only a couple of days to explore together, we wondered what we could do close to the city. Wanting some kind of cultural activity, we quickly decided on a tour of Cafe Britt, one of the country’s gourmet coffee producers. Costa Rica has lots of choices for coffee tours and this post will give you a recap of our visit to Cafe Britt to help you decide if it’s right for you.
Cafe Britt has been growing and roasting coffee in Costa Rica since 1985. They were one of the first producers in the country that saw the value in keeping a portion of their best quality beans in Costa Rica, instead of selling them all abroad. Since then, they have developed a reputation, and their products are now found at many of Costa Rica’s best hotels, restaurants, and even the airport gift shops.
The Cafe Britt Tour
Cafe Britt offers two tours, the Classic Coffee Tour and a longer Coffee and Nature Tour. We were coming for the coffee and weren’t interested in going to an ecological park, so we opted for the Classic Tour.
A Theatrical Spin
The tour started like any coffee tour would with an introduction about how the beans are grown. We learned about the lifecycle of the coffee plant, some of the work that goes into growing and maintaining the crop, and then walked around a small coffee field to see the red berries for ourselves.
It didn’t take much time for us to figure out that this wouldn’t be any ordinary coffee tour. In between details about the growing process, our two guides, who were dressed in traditional attire, constantly cracked jokes, playing off of one another in a very theatrical way. It was clear that their act had been well polished, but we were still laughing at the hokey Tico humor. They were really quite funny.
Afterwards, we all headed into a large theater to watch a short movie about the history of Costa Rica’s coffee industry and to learn about the different regions where coffee is grown. Like the outdoor portion of the tour, this part was also theatrical. The guides would jump on stage and interact with the movie, throwing oversized burlap bags of coffee into a miniature coffee truck. It was a little corny like the previous skit outside, but funny, and kept the whole audience entertained, including the kids.
After the show, our guides brought up some volunteers and had them help brew coffee the traditional way using a wooden contraption and cotton sock called a chorreador . They also taught us about French Press methods and the drawbacks of regular old drip coffee pots, including some of the science behind it all.
Tasting the Glorious Coffee
After having smelled coffee for what seemed like an eternity, we moved to the main building (and gift shop) where we got to taste some freshly brewed java. Inside, all of Cafe Britt’s coffee varieties were spaced out along the walls beside thermoses and tasting cups. Conveniently, bags of coffee and chocolates were available for purchase as well. Some of our favorite blends were the Tres Ríos (Three Rivers) from the Irazú Volcano region and the Fair Trade dark roast from the mountainous Brunca region in the Southern Zone.
After the coffee tasting, we headed into the open-air room next door for lunch. We usually don’t opt for lunch on tours because they tend to be mediocre and overpriced, but figured it was convenient and would give us a chance to spend more time with Lauren. Admittedly, we had very low expectations for this part, but ended up being impressed with the buffet. Over nicely prepared typical food like rice and beans, a choice of meats, sides and salads, and some rice pudding, we chatted with Lauren. As usual, she shared some of her hilarious stories of traveling the world. With a lifetime of swapping her house for places in Australia, Poland, Spain, and of course the one here in Costa Rica, she always has some fascinating stories to tell .
We weren’t quite sure what to expect on the Cafe Britt tour, but really enjoyed it and would recommend it to others. The tour isn’t as intimate and personal as ones we’ve done with smaller growers, but has a much broader appeal. It’s the type of tour that is good for anyone, from younger kids to older adults.
Classic Coffee Tour (1.5 hours): $22 per person or $37 with lunch. Tours are offered four times a day at 9:30 a.m., 11:00 a.m., 12:45 p.m., and 3:15 p.m. Coffee and Nature Tour (4 hours, includes visit to INBioparque): $68 per person, includes lunch. 11:00 a.m. Friday, Saturday, and Sunday only.

Have you taken the Cafe Britt tour? We’d love to hear about your experience. Leave us a comment below.
You asked for it… Haha.
My wife and I did take the Britt tour. And maybe it is because we had just completed an intimate, one on one, tour of a smaller coffee company, but we had a hard time with the sing songy, Six-Flags/Disney World way in which the information was presented.
Like you said – the Britt tour was hokey and we felt herded with the other 30 or so people that were on the tour with us.
The tour we took just a month or so before (each of our moms had come a month apart and we didn’t want to do the same tour twice) was truly incredible. We had a guide to ourselves and were able to ask any question at any time and to move along the tour at our own pace.
I am glad you liked the Britt tour – I am sure there are many who feel the same. Since we live here, we are more interested in the actual information than in its presentation and therefore prefer the smaller growers.
Sorry to hear, Greg, that you didn’t enjoy the tour. We’ve done some of the smaller tours here ourselves–loved El Toledo in Atenas–and agree that there is definitely a difference between the experiences, but don’t think that’s necessarily a bad thing. Hearing from a passionate small producer is amazing, but we enjoyed Britt’s fun and humorous tour just as much, albeit in a different way. We get asked a lot about something quick to do close to San Jose and thought this would interest a lot of different people.
Hi Jenn and Matt,
We’re looking for a suggestion for a coffee plantation (ideally between San Jose and San Ramon) that might have a brief tour. We’re traveling with a 3 year old who won’t have the interest in the 2 hour tours I’ve been finding, but my mom would really love to see a little something while we’re in CR.
Alternatively, we arrive in San Jose at 12pm and are spending the night in San Ramon before heading to Arenal (and later Monteverde and Manuel Antonio). Any must-do’s for that first day since we’ll have a few hours and we’ll want to do something!?
Hi Christin, There’s a great coffee tour in Atenas (El Toledo), but I don’t think it’s less than 2 hrs. It takes place outside, though, in a very casual setting so it might be okay with your three year old. The Britt tour is really the best one with kids because it’s very interactive.
If you’re looking for something to do near San José, you could read our How to Spend 1 or 2 Days in San Jose post. There’s also a great Children’s Museum near downtown. Otherwise, there’s Zoo Ave or the Botanical Orchid Garden (both covered in our Atenas post).
I always love information like this – where you get to behind the scenes look at how something is produced. I think there’s room for bigger companies like this as well as smaller, family run one’s. It shows the gamut of the industry and different practices. Something for everyone!
Totally agree, Kelly. It’s interesting to see industry practices on different scales. We’ll have a post coming out soon about our visit to a smaller grower which will be a good way to contrast.
This was something I wanted to do but never did. Only me and another girl stayed in San Jose for our internships and it was something she never had interest in. And since it wasn’t “right” in the city (well, obviously 🙂 I just wasn’t up for doing it alone. You can bet what one of the things I’ll be doing whenever I return! Glad to hear the experience pleasantly surprised you.
It’s not too far from downtown, Julie, but you’re right, a bit out of the way. Definitely an easy stop though for next time you’re in town!
I’m heading to Costa Rica in January and definitely want to do a coffee tour so I’ll be checking this out.
It’s a fun one, Sky, you’ll like it. Thanks for reading and let us know if you have any questions as you plan your trip!
Sounds like a cool tour. I just went to a small coffee plantation in the Jardin, but they didn’t roast on premises so there wasn’t any to drink. It was Ash Wednesday. Everyone in the town square had a little ashy cross on their foreheads. You said the coffee was fair trade. Did you get any sense of the labour conditions on the farm?
Hi Donny, Cafe Britt gets their coffee from co-ops all over Costa Rica. Where they have the tour, they only have a small coffee field- most of the beans come from elsewhere. Our understanding is that Costa Rica is different from many other countries in Latin America in that most coffee here is produced by small, family-run growers so I don’t think there are the same labor issues. Britt is big into social responsibility and says they only work with small and medium sized growers and pay above market prices.
I did the Don Juan tour out of Monteverde. Had a great time as well. They really teach you quite a bit about the plant that you never knew! Had a great time! You can see my post if you like on my website.
Hi Jenn & Matt,
Your website has been so helpful for our trip! We’re wondering if there are any coffee tours that you would recommend around Uvita? Thanks!
Hi Tina, We haven’t done this tour yet but there is a smaller option called Fallas Coffee . They sell at the farmer’s market in Uvita on Wednesdays. I think they’re located on the road to San Josecito.

Find uncommon ground at Costa Rica's 5 best coffee tours
Jan 23, 2020 • 3 min read
Costa Rica's mountainous terrain makes it ideal for coffee production © OliverJW / Getty Images
For Costa Ricans, coffee is more than just a caffeine kick. The coffee bean is nicknamed grano de oro — the golden grain — in part because of how the industry has shaped the entire country’s development. As one of the world's top exporters, you won't find a better cup of coffee anywhere else. Even Pope Francis is a fan, calling Costa Rica's brew "the world's best coffee."
So if there's one truly authentic Costa Rican experience to have, it's a trip to a coffee farm. Here are the best five coffee tours to take.
The Costa Rica coffee tour experience
To truly understand Costa Rica's connection to the popular brew, a coffee tour is an excellent place to start. A traditional tour will begin with the history of coffee worldwide before guiding visitors through a farm to follow the process from seed to bean to cup.
Coffee is grown in mountainous regions across Costa Rica. Whether you arrive at Juan Santamaría International Airport (near San José ) or Daniel Oduber Quirós International Airport (in Liberia ), you can be on a coffee farm within 30 minutes.
The best coffee-growing regions feature high altitude and volcanic soils that create an ideal climate for the plants. In Costa Rica, those conditions aren’t hard to find.
Naranjo, a historic village in the Central Valley , has been producing coffee for more than 150 years. There are cafetales (coffee farms) in mountainous towns and regions such as Tarrazú, Tres Ríos, Orosí, Brunca and Turrialba. Each region will claim that their coffee is the best in Costa Rica, but it really all comes down to personal preference.
By law, virtually all coffee grown in Costa Rica is arabica, meaning it comes from the Coffea arabica plant first found in the Middle East.
Regardless of where in the country the plants are grown, when coffee berries are ripe, they’re harvested by hand.
The milled beans are bagged and exported. If the coffee is staying in Costa Rica, they’ll be toasted and packaged for sale. And if the beans have been processed as part of your tour, the guide might roast, grind and brew the freshest cup of coffee you’ve ever had.
Choosing a Costa Rica coffee tour
Much like a craft brewery tour, you’ll find that most coffee farmers in Costa Rica follow many of the same steps. What matters, then, is what region of Costa Rica you’re visiting and what type of tour interests you.
Coffee tours in Costa Rica’s Central Valley
The world’s best-known coffee company – Starbucks – runs Hacienda Alsacia , which is located just 30 minutes from the San José airport. In addition to the small-batch coffee they grow, Hacienda Alsacia is also researching climate- and disease-resistant variants. The 1.5-hour tour runs daily from 8am - 4pm with prices starting at US$30 for adults.
In the nearby city of Heredia (within 20 minutes of the airport) is Café Britt , the best-known brand of gourmet Costa Rican coffee. They’ve offered tours since 1991 and make the coffee found at upscale restaurants and gift shops across the country. Café Britt offers a variety of tours ranging from a 1.5-hour coffee-lovers tour (starting at US$26) to a six-hour coffee and adventure tour ($123).
Coffee tours in Monteverde/La Fortuna
Nestled in the mountain town of Monteverde , Don Juan offers a three-in-one tour that focuses on coffee but also highlights chocolate’s indigenous history and sugarcane production. Tours run daily at 8am, 10am, 1pm and 3pm and are fully accessible.
Across Lake Arenal, in La Fortuna , North Fields Cafe provides a similar experience in the shadow of Arenal Volcano. Daily tours run from 8am-4pm.
Coffee tours in Guanacaste
Guanacaste’s climate is better-suited for sugarcane, but the Tío Leo Coffee Tour — minutes away from Daniel Oduber Quirós International Airport — is a worthy stop on your way to (or from) the Nicoya Peninsula ’s beautiful beaches. Morning tours run daily from 8am -11. Tickets are $25 per person.
Few activities will combine as much history and culture — not to mention flavor — into a single, quintessentially Costa Rican experience.

Britt Coffee Tour – Costa Rica
San Jose, Costa Rica is overflowing with things to do. It’s funny because most people immediately flock to the big-ticket items when visiting Costa Rica; beaches, volcanoes, waterfalls, the list goes on. There are so many incredible and exotic experiences to be had all over the country that sometimes travelers ignore the capital city. However, the San Jose area also offers tons of fun activities. One in particular, the Britt coffee tour, is close to my heart because I did it when I was 11 and I’ve always remembered it!
Interestingly enough, I didn’t start drinking coffee until about 2 years ago. Throughout college I actually drank energy drinks because I could never get used to the coffee taste. However, once I started traveling more I realized that energy drinks were sometimes difficult to find in foreign countries. This lead me to make the move to coffee – you can get a cup of it basically anywhere! I eventually quit energy drinks altogether (probably for the better) and now have a go-to coffee instead.
The Britt coffee tour offers you the opportunity to visit and tour a working Britt coffee plantation. You get walked through the entire coffee-making process – from the ground into your cup. You even get to taste test 🙂 We got rained on (it’s Costa Rica, not surprising!) but it was so much fun getting to see all stages of the process. Our tour guides were also extremely friendly and personable and they made the educational portion quite entertaining.
Our tour guides! They did the entire tour in both English and Spanish to accommodate the different nationalities in our group.
The plantation itself is quite beautiful, and only sits about 30 minutes north of the city center. We took an uber to the plantation from San Jose and it cost about 5,000-7,000 colones – roughly $10-$15 USD. Also, unless you’re in high-peak season, it should be fairly easy to get a reservation; we called same-day. Once the tour is over you can have lunch at their on-site restaurant and browse the gift shop for coffee and coffee flavored goodies to take home. FUN FACT: You can sample most of their chocolates for FREE. We opted to have lunch nearby at La Carretica , a local restaurant serving typical Costa Rican cuisine. The on-site restaurant seemed a bit pricey. Up the road there is also a bar called Bar España. You’re welcome.
If you’re looking for something fun to do while you’re in San Jose, I definitely recommend looking at doing a coffee tour! It’s a great tour for a laid back day when you’re not hiking through the rainforest. They’ll also incorporate you into their skits and demonstrations and it’s a great way to embarrass your friends and family. 🙂
Hope you enjoyed!

Café Britt Coffee Excursion
Guests with their guide are driven to Café Britt in the province of Heredia — about 30 minutes from San José . During the tour you follow the journey of a coffee bean from the plant to the cup.
Traditionally dressed guides will take you on an interactive tour around the six acres of coffee fields, tropical gardens and coffee processing facilities. The volcanic views from the plantation are spectacular along with those of the Central Valley.
As you learn about the cultivation of coffee in the fields you will be free to pick cherries or even a few dried beans to take home to grow a plant of your own. The roasting and packing facilities provide a great insight into how a red coffee cherry becomes a delicious cup of java.
At the end of the tour you will learn about the history of the coffee industry in the small theater within the grounds.

Top Family Activities in Costa Rica
T he first step to planning your family trip to Costa Rica is to figure out where you are going . Once that happens, the real fun begins- figuring out the activities you want to do while you are on the ground. Whether you are on the ground for 7 days or a month, you’ll want to do at least a few of the activities on this list. Here, I’ve curated the best activities for families of all shapes and sizes.
RELATED POST: Costa Rica With Kids- The Complete Guide
Horseback Riding
Costa Rica is an agricultural country, and agriculture means horses. Horses are used often for festivals and celebrations , but riding a horse through the rainforest or on the beach is thrilling.
We love to horseback ride through the coffee farms in the Central Valley , or canter along Jaco Beach up to the lookout over the ocean and Playa Hermosa.
Make sure to use horses that are well-taken care of and have a reputable local guide take you on your tour.
Hanging Bridges
A walk across the hanging bridges of the dense cloud forests of Costa Rica is undoubtedly one of the best things to do on a family vacation in Costa Rica. Trek across walkways suspended more than 150 feet above the ground where you will experience the gorgeous rainforest up close (sometimes above the clouds).
If you’re lucky, you’ll see howler monkeys , but there are also plenty of birds and flying beetles to keep the kids enthralled. Be sure to pack some warm clothes; the little ones, especially, may need a jacket while up there.
Our favorite hanging bridges are Arenal Mistico near La Fortuna .
If you have watersports lovers in the family, you certainly don’t want to leave Costa Rica without checking off surfing. From as far north as Tamarindo Beach to Dominical in the south, you’ll find nice baby waves for kids who want to learn to surf . Don’t worry- if you are an expert surfer there are plenty of great big waves at Playa Grande and Playa Hermosa on the Pacific Coast , or in Puerto Viejo on the Caribbean Coast.
Waterfall Chasing
Costa Rica is renowned for magical waterfalls that would make for a memorable family excursion, so take a tour and explore as many as you can in a single day! La Paz Waterfall Gardens in Alajuela, Bajos del Toro near Sarchi and La Leona waterfal l near Liberia are some of my favorites, but a skilled guide can help you find other hidden gems that you can have all to yourselves.
Bring a swimsuit because after admiring the gorgeous water descend voluminously to the base, you and the cubs will be ready to take a plunge into the calm pool at the bottom. Also, you’ll be happy to know that most of the falls are situated in national parks , meaning, you’ll have a chance to see some wildlife while you’re there too.
Spotting Wildlife
Wildlife watching is another fun activity that will make your Costa Rica family vacation unforgettable, and where better to go than a national park ? Depending on where you go, you’ll discover an abundance of charming animals like spider monkeys, sloths, raccoons, iguanas, sea turtles, and exotic birds.
Moreover, many trails in national parks are kid-friendly and lead to scenic beaches and/or viewpoints. Go with a guide who will have a telescope so you can have a better view of animals hiding high in treetops, and definitely keep your peepers peeled for the playful monkeys hanging out in the lush trees near the beaches.
Coffee Tour
A coffee tour doesn’t sound like something kids would enjoy, right? Wrong! Go on one and you will realize that they are truly made for the whole family. The Café Britt Coffee Tour in the Barva Mountain region, for example, is one of the best options for families; it’s quite kid-friendly and delivers hands-on experience and terrific theater performances that even children enjoy. I love Hacienda Alasacia (Starbuck’s Farm) and the locally-owned Espiritu Santo coffee tour in Naranjo.
There are plenty of such tours in Central Valley where the majority of coffee factories are located. Book one and learn how some of the Ticos’ favorite coffee flavors are produced. Not only will you have a chance to visit the vast coffee plantations; you will even taste the processed coffee after the tour.

Safari float.
A river float tour is one of the best ways to sneak up on incredible wildlife in its natural habitat. While there are many places to enjoy such an adventure, a favorite to make time for is the Penas Blancas River in La Fortuna. After delighting in the magnificent views of the Arenal Volcano, take a calm, smooth tour along the river where a friendly guide will steer you and point out ducks, iguanas, kingfishers, sloths, monkeys, crocodiles, and a host of other wildlife.
This is an amazing full-day trip for the whole family, just make sure everyone wears a hat and sunscreen, as sometimes it can be extremely sunny along the river. A safari float is a great option in place of white water rafting.
If your kiddos are adrenaline junkies, Aventuras del Sarapiqu í near La Virgen offers a kid-friendly rafting experience. Children as young as 6 years old can be able to ride gentle Class I and II rapids with the appropriate safety gear provided by skilled instructors. It’s also one of the best places to go rafting for people who are a little scared at the start.
You’ll enjoy two hours of indescribable fun; even the younger kids can hit the water on a tube or safari float on calmer stretches of the river. What’s more, you will see amazing wildlife.
Butterfly Garden
Many hotels and gardens in Costa Rica offer the chance to stroll through a butterfly garden, and if you can, it’s definitely worth a visit to one. Wander through beautiful structures that can house up to 100% of the butterfly species in Central America!
With experienced guides who keep you entertained throughout the tours, butterfly gardens can be great places for you and the kids to learn about the magnificent, delicate creatures and their marvelous life cycles. Watch them feed, rest, and fly about – it’s a place to truly absorb natural beauty.
Hot Springs
While the most famous hot springs are located in La Fortuna de Arenal, there are tons of hot springs around the country. Visiting volcanic hot springs is a must in Costa Rica. You haven’t lived until you’ve experienced a hot soak under the stars in the tropical rainforest- bonus points if it rains!
Popular hot springs around the country include Baldi Hot Springs in La Fortuna , Nayara Hot Springs in Guanacaste, and our favorite- the volcanic pools of Hacienda Guachepelin .
Animal Rescue Centers
Visiting an animal rescue center such as Zoo Ave , La Paz Waterfall Gardens or Las Pumas can be a great way to see wildlife in a protected area. With younger children, it can often be hard to have the patience to look for animals in the wild, but seeing Costa Rican animals can be the highlight of any trip.
This is why sometimes the best option for wildlife viewing is at a rescue center. Here, you can see lots of species up close. Knowledgeable volunteers will often give lots of info about the animals and their origins.
Oftentimes there are restaurants on site too, so young children can have a snack or meal in between viewings. Visiting a sloth sanctuary is one of our favorite activities.
Canopy Tour/Zip Line
The best way to see the forest canopy is from above- and zipping through the trees on a canopy tour is one of the most exhilarating experiences you will have.
You’ll find reputable tour operators across the country, but if you are traveling with young kids you’ll want to check the age, height, and weight requirements.
Older kids will love the adrenaline rush- and if you can get a line with a Tarzan Swing they’ll be even more thrilled. We love Eco Glide in La Fortuna – be sure to check them out.
There are countless hikes across Costa Rica. Whether you hike down to La Fortuna Waterfall or take a guided tour through a national park, both the rainy season and the dry season offer great hiking opportunities as long as you have the right shoes. We love to use a local guide and find a hike that lets us spot as many plant and animal species as the lush rainforests will allow.
Bioluminescent Bay
Many people don’t know there is a bioluminescent bay in Costa Rica but there is! In the province of Puntarenas, just a short ferry ride from to the tip of the Nicoya Peninsula you’ll find our favorite tour operator- Bahia Rica .
Once night falls you’ll hop into a kayak and paddle out into the bay to see glowing dinoflagellates. It’s the experience of a lifetime and I highly recommend you do it if you are in the area.
