Celebrity Reflection Itineraries

Celebrity reflection review, review of celebrity reflection.

The 2012-built Celebrity Reflection cruise ship is the 5th and last of the Solstice-class Celebrity Cruises boats, together with Equinox , Silhouette , Solstice , Eclipse . Celebrity Cruises Reflection ship is currently scheduled for "Celebrity Revolution" drydock refurbishment on February 2, 2023.

The vessel (IMO number 9506459) is currently Malta- flagged (MMSI 229074000) and registered in Valletta .

History - construction and ownership

Celebrity Cruises was founded in 1988 as the Greece-based Chandris Line (cruise shipping operations between 1974-1996). In 1997, Royal Caribbean International (RCI) merged with "Celebrity Cruises Ltd" to become "Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd" (RCCL). The "X" on ship funnels is the Greek letter chi (standing for "Chandris"). Common features of Celebrity Cruises ships include aft located glass-walled dining rooms, signature alternate dining venues, bars and lounges, spacious Atrium lobby areas, a large number of balcony staterooms, large sundecks with swimming pools, The Retreat (adults-only sundeck with full-size swimming pool, Jacuzzi, cabanas, poolside full bar service). Rooftop Terrace (top-deck outdoor lounge-restaurant-cinema), large Spa (with Thermal Suites), premium retail shops selling top-brand merchandise.

Celebrity Cruises Solstice-class ship model (Eclipse., Equinox, Silhouette, Solstice, Reflection)

The 3000-passenger ship Celebrity Reflection is a cruise ship with extraordinary size, innovative interior design and one more deck added. The newest ship in the Celebrity Cruises fleet, Celebrity Reflection is the 5th of the series and last in the highly well-received Solstice class. The capacity of passengers is over 3000, and they have the comfort of a variety of stateroom categories, plus suites. Reflection's godmothers are four female employees of Celebrity who have been affected by breast cancer. The ship sailed on her maiden voyage on October 12, 2012.

Decks and Cabins

Celebrity Reflection staterooms (1523 total, in 33 grades) include 108x Suites, 1183x Balconies, 70x Oceanviews, 154x Inside cabins. Most staterooms are sized 195 ft2 / 18 m2. Of all cabins, 85% have private step-out balconies. Wheelchair-accessible cabins (for disabled passengers/ADA-certified) are 30.

On Reflection were introduced the fleet's first "AquaClass Suites" (34 total, sized 300 ft2 / 28 m2, each with 80 ft / 7 m2 balcony), "Signature Suites" (sized 440 ft2 / 41 m2, floor-ceiling balcony doors, butler service) and "Reflection Suites" (fleet's first - sized 1635 ft2 / 152 m2, with 155 ft2 / 14 m2 terrace). There are also"Concierge Class" (277), "AquaSpa Class" (152), "Sky Suites" (48), "Celebrity Suites" (12), "Royal Suites" (9) and 1 "Penthouse Suite" (ship's largest accommodation, 1290 ft2 / 120 m2, with terrace sized 390 ft2 / 36 m2).

The boat has 15 decks , of which 14 are passenger-accessible and 9 with cabins.

Shipboard dining options - Food and Drinks

The main dining area on Celebrity Reflection, Opus, occupies space on the ship's third and fourth decks. Opus is quite elegant, decorated in browns and silvers, with white tablecloths and crystal. The vast space accommodates 40 more seats than on Celebrity Silhouette, but the tables are too close together, which makes conversation difficult. Passengers in AquaClass staterooms or suites eat at Blu, which offers lighter "spa-inspired" cuisine. They have the option to eat in Opus MDR if they prefer such an experience. Reflection offers a number of for-fee venues, including Qsine (for US$45 per person), Italian steakhouse Tuscan Grill (US$45), French-continental Murano (US$45), D.I.Y. steak experience Lawn Club Grill (US$40), creperie Bistro on 5 (US$10) and The Porch (US$5, panini restaurant open for breakfast and lunch). Qsine diners can order on iPads, then waiters bring the food in the order of choosing.

Reflection - Ft. Lauderdale - which pier??

Looking at a map of the Ft. Lauderdale cruise port.

Does Celebrity usually use the same pier, and if so, do we know which one for Reflection?

It doesn't have to be exact. Working on my travel itinerary on Trip It app.

Really getting excited for this cruise. 10-day Ultimate Caribbean. Really nice itinerary. :D

I've only been on Reflection once, and don't remember which terminal, maybe 24 or 25, but I have also been on the other side of the port, at 4, on Celebrity. I usually bring up the port schedule while in the taxi - https://pevvesseltraffic.broward.org/webx/

But, I just found a nifty iphone app that has the schedules 30 days in advance.

Since her inauguration in 2012, Reflection has always docked at PortMiami [usually Terminal G] when in Florida during Caribbean season... Reflection will be porting at Fort Lauderdale/Port Everglades for the first time during the upcoming Caribbean season...

Fairly reliable pier assignments are generally published on the Port Everglades website about ten days prior to sailing/arrival date and, on those dates, are posted to huge electronic boards situated above the security lanes located at entries to the port complex... Such assignments can and do vary from sailing to sailing based upon the number/size of other ships in port and other logistical/maintenance considerations... In fact, I once departed from one berth and returned to another on the same cruise [for those needing them, shuttles were provided to alternate less proximate parking decks upon arrival]...

Celebrity normally ports at the same place Royal Caribbean does. If going by taxi just tell the driver your ship name, they know where to take you.

Great, thank you. Didn't realize this will be her first time docking at FLL.

Pier 25 or 18.

Even if reliable information is posted, last minute changes can happen. If you're making arrangements for transportation, it's far more important that the driver know what ship you are on than which pier you are scheduled to be docking at.

Reflection has swapped with Equinox and will be doing the 10/11 night cruises departing Friday and Monday.

It will use Terminal 18 so long as it is a Friday or Monday departure.

Same terminal as the Allure and Harmony use on Sat / Sun.

Works much better than Miami because they have an entire second floor with hundreds of seats for those who arrive before embarkation begins.

Sailed on Equinox out of Miami on Aug 20 and the one small waiting room (for Concierge, AQ and Suites) was full by 10:30 AM.

Embarkation began at 11:00 - what a zoo !!!

Terminal 18 also has a priority customs queue for Suites and Zenith that Miami does not have:(

yay ! we're doing that cruise too - glad its not just me thats booked so far in advance :D

jojo - another obsessive planner.....that's great.

My thinking was that if it was available to book - why not?

I am sure time will fly....

Happy Planning

Thanks for pier information, sailing Jan 29th on Reflection. I like to plan ahead too. Will be parking there, is Midport garage the only close one?

An image showcasing a serene water taxi journey from the iconic canals of Venice, passing through picturesque lagoons, and arriving at the vibrant Chioggia Cruise Terminal, surrounded by colorful sailboats and a bustling waterfront promenade

The saying goes, ‘the journey is just as important as the destination.’ When organizing your trip from Venice to the Chioggia Cruise Terminal, you are presented with multiple options. Whether you’re focusing on convenience, affordability, or scenic beauty, there is a transport method designed to suit your needs.

In this article, I will guide you through the various ways to reach the cruise terminal, providing you with all the essential information to make your journey smooth and enjoyable.

From water taxis that offer picturesque views of the Venetian lagoon, to public buses that are budget-friendly, and private transfers that provide comfort and convenience, we will explore each option’s duration and cost.

Additionally, I will share some tips to help you navigate the journey and make the most of your time in Chioggia.

So, let’s get started and ensure that your cruise journey begins on the right foot!

  • Water taxi offers a scenic and convenient option with stunning views and direct transportation to Chioggia cruise terminal.
  • Public bus is a budget-friendly choice that allows you to experience the local atmosphere and beautiful scenery, although it may be crowded during peak hours.
  • Private transfer provides comfort and convenience with a dedicated vehicle and driver, avoiding crowded buses and unfamiliar routes.
  • The ferry is a leisurely ride that allows you to relax and enjoy the stunning views of the Venetian lagoon, offering an easy continuation to Chioggia cruise terminal.

Overview of Venice and Chioggia

Let’s talk about the beautiful cities of Venice and Chioggia!

Venice, often referred to as the ‘Floating City,’ is renowned for its unique charm and stunning architecture. It is a city filled with rich history and culture. Some of its famous attractions include St. Mark’s Square, the Grand Canal, and the Rialto Bridge.

On the other hand, Chioggia offers a more relaxed and laid-back atmosphere compared to its famous neighbor. This charming fishing village is often described as a hidden gem. It has picturesque canals, vibrant marketplaces, and delicious seafood.

When it comes to cruise destinations, both cities have their own appeal. While Venice offers a more bustling and iconic experience, Chioggia provides a quieter and more authentic Italian experience.

Now, let’s move on to the water taxi, a scenic and convenient option to get from Venice to Chioggia cruise terminal.

Water Taxi: A Scenic and Convenient Option

Take a relaxing ride on a water taxi and immerse yourself in the breathtaking scenery as you effortlessly glide towards your destination.

The water taxi is not only a convenient mode of transportation but also offers stunning scenic views along the way.

As you cruise through the picturesque canals of Venice, you’ll be treated to the beauty of the city’s architecture, charming bridges, and colorful buildings.

The clear turquoise waters will mesmerize you, and you’ll feel a sense of tranquility as you enjoy the gentle sway of the boat.

With various transportation options available, the water taxi stands out as a truly unique and enjoyable experience.

Soak in the sights and sounds of Venice as you make your way to the Chioggia cruise terminal.

Speaking of other options, let’s now explore the public bus: a budget-friendly choice for reaching your destination.

Public Bus: A Budget-Friendly Choice

Hop on the public bus for an affordable and convenient way to reach your destination, while also saving some money for other exciting activities in Venice. The public bus is a budget-friendly choice for getting from Venice to the Chioggia Cruise Terminal. Here are some things to consider:

Cost comparison: Taking the public bus is significantly cheaper than other transportation options such as a water taxi or a private transfer.

Pros: The public bus allows you to experience the local atmosphere and see the beautiful scenery along the way. It is also a reliable mode of transportation with frequent departures.

Cons: The journey may take longer compared to other options, as the bus makes stops along the route. It may also be crowded during peak hours.

Comfort: While the public bus may not offer the same level of comfort as a private transfer, it provides sufficient seating and air conditioning.

Convenience: The bus route is well-connected, making it easy to reach the Chioggia Cruise Terminal from various locations in Venice.

When you’re ready for a more comfortable and convenient option, the next step is to consider a private transfer.

Private Transfer: Comfort and Convenience

Once you’re ready for a more luxurious and hassle-free option, consider opting for a private transfer, ensuring a smooth and seamless journey to your desired destination. With a private transfer, you can enjoy the comfort and convenience of a dedicated vehicle and driver, allowing you to relax and enjoy the scenic views along the way. While public transportation may be a budget-friendly choice, it often comes with crowded buses and the need to navigate unfamiliar routes. In contrast, a private transfer offers a personalized experience, tailored to your specific needs and preferences. While the cost may be higher, the added comfort and convenience are well worth it, especially if you value a stress-free travel experience. So, why go through the hassle of public transportation when you can enjoy the comfort and ease of a private transfer? Transitioning into the subsequent section about the ferry, you can also opt for a leisurely ride across the waters to reach your destination.

Ferry: Enjoy a Leisurely Ride

Why not consider indulging in a leisurely ride on the ferry to enhance your travel experience? Instead of taking a private transfer or a taxi, opting for the ferry is a fantastic alternative transportation option.

The ferry ride from Venice to Chioggia Cruise Terminal allows you to relax and enjoy the stunning views of the Venetian lagoon. Feel the gentle breeze on your face as you glide through the calm waters, taking in the picturesque landscapes along the way.

The leisurely pace of the ferry ride gives you the opportunity to unwind and soak in the beauty of the surrounding areas. Once you reach Chioggia Cruise Terminal, you can easily continue your journey to your final destination.

Now, let’s explore the combination of transportation options and mix and match for a seamless travel experience.

Combination of Transportation: Mix and Match Options

Embark on a journey of possibilities as you weave together various modes of transportation, creating a harmonious symphony of movement and exploration.

When it comes to getting from Venice to the Chioggia Cruise Terminal, there are a variety of combination options available, allowing you to mix and match transportation methods to suit your preferences.

Start by taking a ferry from Venice to Pellestrina Island, where you can then hop on a bus that will take you to Chioggia. Alternatively, you can take a taxi or a water taxi from Venice directly to Chioggia.

Each option offers its own unique experience, allowing you to soak in the beauty of the Venetian lagoon and the surrounding scenery.

Now, let’s delve into the duration and cost of each option, providing you with all the information you need to make a well-informed decision.

Duration and Cost of Each Option

Now let’s break down the duration and cost of each transportation option, so you can make an informed decision on how to plan your journey. Here’s what you need to know:

Situé à seulement 5 kilomètres de la plage et du centre-ville animé, il est facilement accessible en taxi, bus ou même en bateau-taxi grâce aux nombreux canaux qui traversent la ville. Ce port, réputé pour ses installations modernes, est aussi le point de départ idéal pour explorer le sur de la Floride.

Que visiter à Fort Lauderdale ?

Short vs. long cruises: Which one is right for you? Here's how they compare.

celebrity reflection cruise port fort lauderdale

Whether you want a weekend getaway or to max out your vacation days, there’s a cruise for that.

Cruise lines offer itineraries ranging from a few days to monthslong . But there are more differences between short and long sailings than just the amount of time guests spend on board. The length of a cruise can help dictate the types of ports passengers visit, the kind of ship they’re sailing on and even the general vibe on board.

“It's important to walk our guests through and for cruisers to think about, what's the experience that they're trying to have,” said Jamie Margolis, owner of Moms at Sea Travel, a Dream Vacations franchise. “So, we try to tease out that information, like, ‘What's your vacation style?’ ”

What can guests expect from short cruises?

Cruises can be divided into those shorter or longer than a week, according to Jared Feldman, owner of travel agency Jafeldma Travel. “So, anything less than that is really considered a short cruise,” he said.

Those around three nights long are often aimed at new-to-cruise guests “who aren’t really ready to commit to seven days but really want to quote-unquote test the waters, let's say – to see if cruising is right for them,” he added.

Those sailings typically feature just one port and a sea day and often visit tried-and-true cruise destinations. Travelers sailing from South Florida ports like Miami and Fort Lauderdale will likely visit Nassau in the Bahamas or one of many cruise line private islands , for example. While those sailing from Galveston, Texas, can expect to stop in Cozumel.

Margolis called three-and-four-night voyages a “great intro to cruising,” albeit with more limited itinerary choices. “Is their dream to go to Saint Kitts? They're probably not going to find that on a short sailing,” she said.

Shorter cruises may also lend themselves more to a party atmosphere and be less kid-friendly. But Margolis noted that’s not unique to cruising. “I mean, it's the nature of travel that short weekends can be celebratory,” she said.

And with diverse onboard offerings – from ship-within-a-ship concepts to kids clubs – passengers can often carve out their own experience.

Cruise lines have new offerings in that shorter category. Celebrity Cruises is launching its first regular weekend itineraries in the Caribbean this month, and Royal Caribbean International’s Utopia of the Seas will offer three-and-four-night sailings when it debuts in July.

What can guests expect from long cruises?

Feldman said any sailing over seven days could be considered a “longer cruise.” Those can range from around 10 days to more than six months. Royal Caribbean is operating a nine-month world cruise to more than 60 countries.

While short cruises “can feel like a bit of a whirlwind,” according to Margolis, longer itineraries offer more time to explore a greater variety of ports. They may feature less-visited destinations such as Aruba and Curaçao and often take place on smaller, older vessels (though ships are refurbished regularly).

That’s partly due to the limitations in places they stop. “Some of the ports … cannot really accommodate this large ship hardware,” Feldman said. “So, you need a smaller-size ship to navigate in and out of these ports.”

The onboard demographic also tends to skew older on those cruises since retired passengers typically have more free time, and travelers with kids are often beholden to school schedules.

If you want a middle ground, though, Margolis said a seven-night cruise “really takes you through what I think is, like, the whole cruise cycle.”

"You get on, you get acclimated, you find all the different amenities, and then you're able to … truly relax, disconnect, unwind,” she said. ‘And then you know, midweek, you start getting your luggage tags, and you go through that mental process of accepting that you're going to have to get off in a couple of days and go back to work.”

At that length, it's also easier to tack on a bit of extra time on the front or back end of the sailing to explore on their own, Feldman added.

Are short or long sailings cheaper?

Because short sailings frequently take place on larger ships, they are “very attractively priced” to help fill the cabins. But that doesn’t mean they’ll always be cheaper than a longer cruise.

A cruise with more stops will have higher port fees, but passengers may book longer itineraries further out and get better fares.

Looking for cheap cruises?: Here's what to know know about finding deals.

“Most times, you're not going to book a three-to-four-night sailing 12 to 18 months in advance,” said Feldman. “You're going to book that much closer in.”

The ship’s age also plays a role in how it’s priced, with shiny new vessels commanding higher rates . “So, there's a lot of different variables in play that kind of dictate where you're going to come out ahead or how much your cruise is ultimately going to cost based on those factors,” said Feldman.
