I discovered this restaurant couple of years ago and among the chinese restauarnts I have experienced, this is definately one of the best. Ok, furniture/decor looks maybe a bit tired...but no compromise with THE food ! Mr Choi (owner and kitchen chef) is a FANTASTIC... cook and host. Try the REAL chinese fondue (need to order 24h before), the mussels with soy sauce, the chicken with basil or the eggs with tomatoes, the soups, the scallops...a truly chinese feast ! Go and enjoy it ! More

If you need a quick Asian fix, this is ok. Had the yong zhao fried rice (not in menu special request) which was good. But the beef noodles was a bit weird for my liking. The dishes do not come with rice, had to pay... 3CHF for white rice. Probably the best on the street for Asian one can find. Prices 20-25CHF /meal More

Food is really good, prices are correct. Never been disappointed. Only good Chinese restaurant in the area. Very nice staff. Reservations recommended

Look past the very slightly dated appearance, say hello to members of the family as you sit down and just enjoy freshly cooked, delicious food that isn't too heavy but tastes truly authentic. Ok, I'm going to be honest, I've been living in La Tour-de-Peilz for about 20 years (and I'm 21..) and I pass in front of this restaurant everyday and I always wanted to give it a try! And I must admit that it was one... of the best Chinese food I had in Switzerland. First the service was great, the owner was adorable and always passing by asking if we needed something, the other waiters are very friendly and professional too. The food was excellent, I had a Hot and Sour soup to begging which was very good and then for the main the Spicy Beef. Everything is served on a hot stone to keep the food warm and portions are generous! I highly recommend this place that isn't, unfortunately known enough in the area ! And yes, prices might be a bit higher than regular Chinese restaurants, but it's worth it ! More

Had take away from this restaurant, sweet and sour pork and fried but rice. Food of average quality and portion sizes also average. Ok for a basic meal.

This established restaurant has been here for decades so something must be going right! The quiet, understated, Chinese decor harks back to the sixties and seventies and this is a good thing. The menu is fairly standard and the food is good. Prices are also... pretty good for the area! This is a popular haunt for many locals and can get busy on Friday and Saturday night so book ahead. We were passing through the town and needed lunch and craved chinese food. We ordered the fried noodles and rice, noodles soup, tim sum and fried kang kong. About 18 swisd francs per main and 10 per serving of tim sum. Total for 7 of... ud was about 140 swiss francs. The dishes tasted authentic and reminded us of home. Not cheap (no food in switzerland is) but worth a visit. More

After a hard day of travels we went looking for a restaurant and found Hon Kong City ... good find and a good meal. Service was great, food hot and tasty. We had hot sour soup, egg rolls and fried rice ( no food pictures,... sorry) We really enjoyed having the option for having a really good Chinese food experience in Switzerland More

I ate here several times while in town on business. The staff was very friendly and the food was awesome. I eat Chinese a lot so I was plenty pleased with the food here. Nice cozy atmosphere and clean.

Found this restaurant on TA and gave it a go. As described, fresh and full of taste dishes. It was a breath of fresh air after ten days of ski resort food. Very good menu selection with a wide variety of ala carte and set... menus. Hot and sour soup, Hong Kong City (King Pao) chicken and fried rice were delicious. Good sized portions. Fast friendly service. The owner/chef was seen greeting and chatting to guests. Gave it a great feel. More

This is one of our go-to restaurants in the vevey-la tour de peilz area. The food is absolutely delicious: the soups, pork, chicken, duck...name it, every single dish is so well prepared and presented. The other big plus for us, is the service: they have... AMAZING service, which is not easy to find in Switzerland. They are really nice, always welcoming and fast...you feel at home! I definitely recommend this place!!! More

I came here didn't expecting much! But to my surprise, they serve one of the best entrecôte cafe de paris style! Very tender beef and delicious sauce! And the fires keeps coming piping hot and fresh on demand. Excellent and Highly recommended

After a late afternoon visit to the Chillon castle, we were looking for a restaurant before returning to Geneva. Most restaurants in Montreux did not open for the evening until at least an hour later. We drove through town and then found the Taverne de... la Vieille Tour in La-Tour-de-Peliz. What luck! The welcome was indeed warm. Beautifully decorated in a traditional Swiss style. The specialities are pizzas and pastas. However there is an extensive menu of meat, game, fish, cheese dishes, salads and desserts. Our waitress had obviously many years of experience. She was friendly, efficient and helpful and chatted with us without being overwhelming. Our meals were delicious. Highly recommendable! More

I advice this restaurant; you can taste the meats, fishes and the best vines of the region. It is very close to the lake leman and Montreux. The staff is very kind to you and they serve very fast.

made a reservation for the evening before my wife's 50th birthday, and we have to say we were thoroughly disappointed. The table we were assigned was right next to the waiting serving station which meant that any possibility of a quiet and intimate atmosphere was... lost. More like pedestrian traffic akin to Saturday night at the corner of Leicester Square and Piccadilly Circus. As the restaurant was full we could only assume that every table had been reserved and ours was just last come last served as without doubt it was the worst table in the restaurant. Slow service as the place was full. 15 minute wait to order. In the meantime a waitress came past and spilt a customers salad on the floor, slashing salad dressing onto the overcoat of a customer at another table, not that the customer noticed or that it was brought to his attention. Not quite what we hoped to see. Wife ordered tartare de boeuf with toast, me rosbeef with allumette fries. Eau gaseuse as apero. Wife was served a salad separately which was intended to be served with the tartare, whilst I sat there like cheese at fourpence with nothing. Small tartare for wife eventually served, along with the rosbeef for me which was so thinly sliced to should have been called carpaccio. My wife's toast was actually just bread. My allumette fries portion was so small it would not have proved adequate for our daughter aged 8. Me and my wife were looking at each other, disbelieving.... But the biggest disappointment was yet to come. The bill for said gastronomic delight. For food to feed a sparrow poorly presented, inadequate in amount, poor service, bad tabkle location, one bottle of sparkling water = .......wait for it.....waaaait..........68CHF!!!! And within that amount I find that the bottle of water was 10 CHF....where did it come from at that price, Antarctica?? Well, what a real disappointment. Seems this place is "hit and miss" so our recommendation is....just give it a miss. In vact, avoid it. What a poor quality rip-off. More

During our vacation ; we came this restaurant several times. First i can say that the restaurant has a perfect location ; very close to the lake leman and the castle; you can walk these places with walking in 1 minute or less. The restaurant... has a lovely nature , you can see it outside when you enter indide and sit a chair. The owners and staff always smile you and want to have conversations with you. We had lots of conversations in the morning while drinking our coffees, espressos, in the lunch or dinner while eating our meat, pizza or pastas. They have good prices for a restaurant in switzerland. The service is too fast, you dont wait too much time while waiting your meals or drinkings. The specialities of the place is; grilled entrecote with home made cafe du paris sauce, fillet de perches (a special fish from lake leman) and the shrimp with garlic and butter sauce; they were very delicious , we loved them very much; i cant forget these tastes, if i come here again the first things to do is to eat these meals :)). The other options in this restaurant is pizzas and pastas. You can find a lot of variations in the menu , you can imagine yourself as if you are in Italy !! You can order special wines and beer of Switzerland and taste them, i cant forget them too :)). I strongly advice you to come this restaurant and taste these special foods and drinks. More

Good restaurant for a proper meal in good price. I recommed filets de perche and tarte au citron. Only minus is an interior deco - could be a little bit refreshed.

You can eat anything there from pizza and pasta to horse fillet. The shrimps are huge and delicious. And huge variety of ice cream!

We ate the menu, which was good and well prepared. Meet was tender and juicy and home made thin French fries excellent. We finished with a couple of savory home made dessert, tiramisu and Tatin pie, both worth of trying. Good selection of local vines,... rather expensive but this is Switzerland. More

Right by the trolleybus stop, this popular, efficient and friendly establishment knocks out good quality pizzas at reasonable prices. The draught Swiss beer was good too.
