By visiting Nusa Penida expect white-sand beaches with silky blue water, 200-meter high coastal cliffs drop, and yet untouched nature. It is recommended to either visit the island by a one-day Nusa Penida Tour or a 3-day Nusa Penida trip .

Things to see on a Nusa Penida Tour

During a Nusa Penida day tour, you can either explore the west or east coast of Penida Island. West is more popular since it is closer to the harbor. East is at least as beautiful and has fewer tourists. If you prefer to see both sides, it is better to do a 3-day Nusa Penida Trip .

The west coast of Penida island has beautiful sights like Angel’s Billabong and Kelingking Beach . The island of Nusa Penida is already considered a hidden gem island in Indonesia and kinda off the beaten track, however, the eastern part of the island is even more for the adventurous souls.

Please be aware that traveling from the Northwest area to the East can be a lengthy and rough journey. However, a new road from the East Coast now makes reaching Atuh Beach more convenient, taking approximately one hour.

That's why staying in different spots of Nusa Penida is convenient, and at least for a day or two, especially if you want to get to Diamond Beach .

The East is pretty secluded but offers splendid views and activities: there are two main beaches, Diamond Beach and Atuh Beach.

They both have long stretches of white sand beach surrounded by cliffs, rock formations, and turquoise blue water.

There is one on Facebook called 'Lembongan Nusapenida Activities' that takes you over on a fast boat @ 8:15am and back at Sanur @ 2:30pm but it has minimal reviews.

We don't want to extend the day any further than what the actual snorkelling offers.

Any suggestions?

I know a Penida tour agent not for snorkelling specifically but she can arrange it. Just a reminder the snorkelling spots have very strong currents.

A tour to include Mantas or not.

I dive and Mrs P likes to snorkel. Forms major part of our Bali holidays (main areas for us Amed & Gilis).

NUSA PENIDA

It is important that you are a good confident swimmer. Some areas can have strong current/surge.

There are those who can’t swim or poor swimmers who elect to wear a life jacket. Some have been swept away by the current..

The fastboats arrive at Toyapakeh.

A lot of the “snorkeling tours” are off the south side of Nusa Penida.

Because of the distance similar snorkeling tours go from Nusa Lembongan .

http://www.newbrosurfing.com arrange snorkeling trips from mainland Bali. We did ours with them from Nusa Lembongan.

Snorkeling trips can include Gamat Bay, Crystal Bay and Manta Bay/Point.

Personally if you wanted to do Mantas I would suggest you give it a miss.

At Manta Point it is very near a cliff. Lots of cliff surge. We went in Nov 2023. We only went to Nusa Lembongan so Mrs P could do the Mantas. Very underwhelming. (We had already been to Amed & Gilis).

There are literally hundreds of people in the water. Human frogspawn all floating together gawking down at maybe 3 or 4 Mantas.

Our trip was 2 boats each taking 16 people so 32 in total. When we arrived there were already lots of people in the water as well as numerous dive boats.

CRYSTAL BAY also has a lot of surge and can have strong current.

GAMAT BAY also can have strong current.

NOTE: If you wanted a trip to include the Mantas it is not guaranteed if you go.

The seastate off the south side of Nusa Penida is very unpredictable. Can be choppy with strong currents.

The boat captains/company make a decision in the morning of the trip.

If they deem it is too bad they omit Manta Bay or Point.

Often then stick to Crystal Bay, Gamat Bay. Maybe Mangroves.

ALTERNATIVE

The thing is the snorkeling isn’t as good as Amed or Gilis.

So much depends what you really want to get out of the trip.

A DIY Trip to Padangbai/Blu Lagoon as part of an extended day out might be a better choice.

Can just turn up at Blu Lagoon, hire some gear off the guys on the beach (used to be IDR50k). When bored can just chillax, get a bite to eat or go off in your private van to maybe do some sightseeing.

Yes the trip is to see the manta rays. Not just general snorkelling. Sorry I should have been clearer in my original post. Trip is end of April.

It looks like new bro surfing also include other activities in their day trip though extending it to a whole day.

Limited time in Bali means that they only want to do the snorkelling and nothing else that fills the day up. They would rather come straight back to Sanur after snorkelling.

They have already booked/paid for accommodation so won't be going to Gilis/ Amed . My daughter has already been to both anyway. The purpose of the trip over to Nusa Penida is just to see mantas (hopefully) with their friends. I don't think I could dissuade them from trying despite the number of people doing the same thing.

I suppose they could get themselves over to Lembongan and back, as long as they were to make arrangements with a local company that took them back to the boat area and not on mangrove sightseeing journey with others. I'll get her to contact New Bro and see if they can do like that.

Itinerary Nusa Penida Hari Pertama

Untuk itinerary Nusa Penida 2 hari pada hari pertama, kamu bisa menyusuri tempat wisata Nusa Penida yang terkenal di wilayah barat. Daya tarik wisata Nusa Penida wilayah barat adalah Kelingking Beach, yakni pantai yang jika dilihat dari atas atau ketinggian berbentuk seperti jari kelingking. Kamu bisa berburu spot foto di bagian tebing dengan latar menghadap langsung ke bukit memanjang yang menjorok ke arah laut. Jika ingin turun ke pantai, pastikan kamu mengenakan alas kaki dan pakaian yang nyaman karena harus menuruni tebing terjal dengan kemiringan sampai 80 derajat serta membawa air minum.

Lanjutkan perjalanan ke Broken Beach yang lokasinya sekitar 9 km dari Kelingking Beach. Broken Beach Nusa Penida adalah pantai yang menawarkan panorama batu karang dengan bentuk lingkaran di atas permukaan laut. Wisata Nusa Penida yang dikenal dengan nama Pasih Uug ini jika dilihat dari atas menyerupai lingkaran dengan seperti ada teluk di tengah pantai. Untuk berfoto di Broken Beach, pastikan kamu berhati-hati dan tidak terlalu berdiri di pinggir tebing karena berbahaya dan bisa menyebabkan terpeleset.

Tak jauh dari Broken Beach, yakni sekitar 650 meter, kamu bisa mampir ke Angel’s Billabong. Tempat wisata di Nusa Penida ini merupakan muara sungai yang bentuknya menyerupai kolam diapit dengan tebing dengan pemandangan langsung ke laut lepas. Banyak wisatawan yang mencoba berendam dan berenang, tetapi harap jangan dilakukan saat air sedang pasang atau ombak sedang tinggi karena bisa saja terseret ombak. Pastikan kamu mematuhi aturan setempat saat sedang berkunjung.

Akhiri itinerary Nusa Penida 2 hari pada hari pertama dengan berkunjung ke Crystal Bay. Dari Angel’s Billabong, kamu harus menempuh perjalanan sejauh 17 km. TRIBUN-BALI.COM - Kisruh sanksi kanorayang di Nusa Penida , Klungkung , membuat dua orang harus diamankan pihak kepolisian. 

Padahal hari ini, Senin 15 April 2024, rencana akan ada mediasi untuk kasus sanksi kanorayang ini dari pihak MDA . Namun ternyata semuanya berjalan tidak sesuai rencana.  

Saat akan keluar rumah, tiba-tiba ada seorang warga dari kelompok yang terkena sanksi kasepekang melontarkan nada-nada provokatif .

Hal ini membuat krama adat tersinggung, dan langsung melakukan pengejaran ke warga tersebut.

"Ada seorang warga, dia pegawai dari warga yang terkena kesepekang dan masuk ke kelompok warga kasepekang . Melontarkan kalimat yang membuat krama banjar tersinggung," ujar Ida Bagus Putra Sumerta.

Terpancing emosinya, krama banjar mengejar dua warga tersebut. Aparat bertindak cepat dengan langsung mengamankan keduanya dari kejaran massa dan langsung dibawa ke Kantor Polsek Nusa Penida.

"Ada dua orang kami amankan ke Polsek Nusa Penida , yakni seorang dari warga dari kelompok warga yang kasepekang bersama seorang pekerjanya. Kira-kira selama sekitar 1 jam kami amankan di polsek," jelas Putra Sumerta.

Setelah peristiwa itu, proses kanorayang terhadap dua KK di Banjar Sental Kangin berjalan kondusif. Prajuru Banjar Sental Kangin membacakan sanksi ke warga tersebut.

Lalu rencananya sanksi kanorayang tahap ketiga akan dilaksanakan pada 10 hari ke depan.

"Peringatan kedua sanksi kanorayang disampaikan dalam bentuk lisan. Sekarang akses warga yang terkena sanksi kanorayang sudah dipasang pagar dari batako.

Peringatan ketiga dilakukan 10 hari ke depan, saya dapat informasi saat peringatan ketiga warga yang kena sanksi diminta mengosongkan rumahnya," ungkap dia.

Ia berharap kedua belah pihak bisa segera dimediasi, serta dicarikan jalan keluarnya dari konflik yang terjadi.

"Mudah-mudahan ada solusi terbaik dari kedua belah pihak," harapnya.
