There are many good cruises leaving from Boston in 2024 such as a 7 night cruise to From Boston to Bermuda on the Norwegian Pearl will give you four days to explore this wonderful island. Another good weeklong cruise is the Caribbean itinerary from Royal Caribbean International aboard the Voyager of the Seas. This includes stops at the Bahamas, Dominican Republic, US Virgin Islands, and Puerto Rico. If you would prefer to go north, Royal Caribbean International cruise from Boston also offers a Canada/New England cruise. Boston is the perfect starting point for this cruise which includes Bar Harbor, Maine, Charlottetown on Prince Edward Island and Sydney in Nova Scotia, among others. If time is a factor, you can also find many 2-night cruises from Boston to better suit your adventure needs. Weekend cruises from Boston are a great way to relax after a long work week.
How Can I Find Cheap Cruises Out of Boston in 2024?
The easiest way to find a cheap cruise from Boston is to sort your results by price. When searching for Boston cruises, prices already include any discounts, which means that you will see cheaper options even if they are normally more expensive. This is a great way to find a cruise that would normally be outside your budget. It's a good idea to be flexible on your 2024 departure date to find the best deals, as cruise lines out of Boston will tend to offer the best deals on staterooms at times when they have difficulty filling the ship.
Which Cruise Lines Operate Out of Boston?
Cruises out of Boston in 2024 are operated by a variety of lines including Norwegian , Holland America , Celebrity, and Royal Caribbean. This gives plenty of choices for your cruise vacation. You will find options here for couples, families, groups, etc. The cruise ships from Boston tend to be large ship cruises with lots of activities that are absolutely great for families with children.
How Can I Find Good Cruise Deals out of Boston?
To find great cruise deals from Boston look for our green box that features specific cruise deals and cruise discounts for each trip when available. These results will appear at the top when you sort by price. Make sure to take into account what perks and amenities are included. Sometimes it can be worth paying a bit extra for a cruise that, say, includes wi-fi and/or a drinks package, depending on what you are likely to use. Boston is a great departure point for certain Caribbean cruises and one of the best for getting a reasonably priced cruise up through New England and Nova Scotia. Choosing a cruise from Boston to Canada will reduce your at-sea time and thus costs too.
What Should I Look Out For When Booking a Cruise from Boston 2024?
First of all, make sure that the itinerary is what you are looking for. Also, make sure that your chosen Boston cruise ship has the amenities you crave. Also, consider the time of year; cruises that take place during breaks from school are more likely to have families with children. Being flexible on departure dates for your 2024 cruise leaving from Boston can help you get the best deal and have a better chance of booking the stateroom you want on the deck you want. Canada and New England cruises in the fall as well as the North Atlantic-focused transatlantic cruises can result in chilly temperatures out on the deck, so consider your temperature tolerance (and, of course, pack accordingly).
Where Are the Best Places to Go On Cruises Leaving From Boston in 2024?
The two most popular destinations out of Boston are Canada/New England and Bermuda. It is also the US departure/arrival port for some of the transatlantic cruises offered by Holland America. You can get a regular Caribbean cruise as well. These are all great destinations, depending on your tastes. If you want to spend several days in one place, the cruises from Boston to Bermuda are a great option as they tend to sail out and then moor to give you time to explore the island and a bit more freedom than many cruises offer. If you want to see some truly spectacular scenery and interesting wildlife, consider a Canada/New England cruise or, if you have the budget, a transatlantic cruise that explores Greenland and Iceland. These destinations can, of course, be cold even in summer, but it's worth it!
What Are Some Good All-Inclusive Boston Cruises?
Most of the cruise ships leaving from Boston are not truly all-inclusive, although they do include main dining, youth programs, onboard entertainment and basic drinks. This varies by line, so do check. To get an all-inclusive cruise from Boston you will need to select an offer that includes it. You should weigh how much you will use the amenities before purchasing a package. For example, most people these days need wi-fi, but a shore excursion package is only worth it if you know you are going to use it.
What Are Some Great Family Cruises From Boston?
Almost all of the cruise ships out of Boston,, include youth programs in the price of the ticket for 3 to 17-year-olds. What's offered varies, of course, by line and ship, but family cruises from Boston are easy to find. Bermuda cruises from Boston are great for families as you can spend time doing whatever you want on the island and not have to worry, for at least part of the time, about your ship sailing without you because the kids held you up. (Note, this is why it's usually best to take an official shore excursion because then the ship will wait for you). Your kids might, of course, have an opinion on the destination, but New England/Canada cruises tend to attract an older crowd, and there might be fewer other kids for them to hang out with.
What Are Some Good Adults-Only Cruises From Boston?
As the Boston cruise lines use mostly large ships, there are usually no specific adults-only cruises. All of the cruises have youth programs, which can help keep adults and kids separated. Your best bet to avoid a lot of families is to choose dates when kids are in school. The four-night Bermuda Cruise on the Norwegian Pearl is a great choice for a short romantic getaway. Check amenities to find the best cruise ships out of Boston for your particular trip.
What Are Some Good Singles Cruises From Boston?
Cruise lines mostly use large ships, and therefore do not usually have specific singles cruises out of Boston. However, it's worth considering a Norwegian cruise from Boston as they have great deals for solo travelers. Their ships have staterooms designed for solo travelers (so you are not paying for two people) and a Studio Lounge to meet other single cruisers.
Are There Any Christmas Cruises from Boston?
Because it is so far north, Boston has few to no sailings between November and April, so there are no Christmas cruises. Boston itself is, of course, a great place to experience a white Christmas.
What Are Some Great Gay Cruises out of Boston?
There are no specific gay cruises leaving from Boston. However, all four of the cruise lines that operate are considered very friendly to gay and lesbian travelers, especially Celebrity.
How do I Book a Cruise from Boston in 2024 on Expedia?
Simply browse our pre-selected Boston Cruise deals or set Boston as your departure destination. You can also narrow down your search by selecting an arrival destination and departure dates, as well as filtering by cruise line and ship. Too tight a search may give you no results, so if you do, then widen your parameters to find the best cruises out of Boston. You can also search by duration, helping you find good two-night cruises from Boston, or 7-day cruises from Boston, depending on how much time you have to spend. Weekend cruises out of Boston are a great break.
How can I find last-minute cruise deals from Boston?
Cruise lines operating out of Boston often have cabins they want to fill at the last minute. Enter your departure date and set Boston as the departure port. Available deals will be marked with a green box. You can sort by departure date to find the closest sailing to your time. A last-minute deal, if you are flexible, can give you a great discount on the cruise.
Do I need a passport to cruise from Boston?
This depends on the destination and where your cruise ends. A closed-loop cruise is one that starts and ends in the same US port, and the itinerary must consist of contiguous territories of the US, meaning that they share a land or direct sea border. If you are taking a closed-loop cruise, you do not need a passport. This includes all Canada/New England sailings, sailings to Bermuda, and most Caribbean itineraries. For transatlantic cruises, you will need a passport. Also, anyone who is not a US citizen will need a passport to take these cruises.
Can I Cancel My Cruise Booking?
If you need to cancel your booking for any reason, you can do so from your My trips page or by contacting customer service. Bear in mind that cruise lines have different cancellation policies, which will determine how much of a refund you get.
Why should I book a Cruise From Boston with Expedia?
Booking through Expedia is convenient and gives you access to search tools that can help you find the right ship and destination for your Boston cruises 2024 vacation. You can also become an Expedia Rewards member and get points for future travel.

Princess Cruises' Star Princess ship delayed, 9 sailings canceled
Travelers will have to wait longer than planned to sail on Princess Cruises’ upcoming ship.
The delivery of Star Princess, which was set to debut next summer, will be pushed back by about two months. The cruise line said the delay was a “mutual” decision with shipbuilder Fincantieri.
“Following a comprehensive review of the remaining construction milestones, both parties have elected to adjust the ship's delivery date from July 29, 2025 to September 26, 2025, which will result in the cancellation of the nine inaugural sailings,” Princess said in a news release .
Guests whose cruises are impacted will be able to rebook on any Princess ship and, depending on which sailing they pick, receive future cruise and onboard credits. They will also be able to opt for a full refund of their fare instead.
“Despite our collective dedication and relentless pursuit to deliver the ship in late July, it has become evident that additional time is required to ensure the Star Princess is delivered to the highest standards expected by our guests,” Princess Cruises President John Padgett said in the release.
Your cruise was canceled: Now what?
The ship’s new inaugural itineraries will include 11 and seven-day Mediterranean cruises on Oct. 4 and 15, 2025, respectively. Those will be followed by a two-week transatlantic voyage to Fort Lauderdale, Florida on Oct. 22, 2025.
Those sailings will be available to book on April 30.
Star Princess will be the second in the line’s Sphere Class. Sister ship Sun Princess was also delayed ahead of its launch earlier this year, with Princess citing “additional technical work” needed at the shipyard.

So much for thinking they had crossed their final hurdle.
Guests onboard the Royal Caribbean cruise line were told their trip was canceled and were being sent home despite already being aboard the ship.
Royal Caribbean International notified guests onboard Radiance of the Seas that the ship would not continue on an already-abbreviated Alaskan cruise. The trip was canceled, and guests had to disembark, CruiseHive.com reported.
The ship was set to leave from Vancouver, British Columbia, on April 26, but an earlier adjustment due to technical difficulties allowed guests to board on embarkation day while the ship was to spend two days in port undergoing repairs.
The revised plan features a Sunday departure and an adjusted route, with calls to Icy Strait Point and Ketchikan and scenic cruising in the famed Inside Passage before returning on May 3, which was the original completion date.
But it was later announced that the trip was being canceled due to repairs for a technical issue. Guests had to leave the ship by 4 p.m. Sunday.
“As you are aware, our teams have been vigorously working to have Radiance of the Seas prepared to set sail on our shortened April 26th sailing,” the letter given to passengers in their staterooms read, the unofficial cruise site RoyalCaribbeanBlog.com reported.
“Despite our best efforts, circumstances beyond our control have delayed our sailing further. As a result, we’ll regrettably have to cancel our April 26th, 2024, cruise,” the letter concluded.
Guests will receive a 100% refund of their cruise fare and a 100% future cruise credit that may be applied to any future Royal Caribbean sailing. Internet service aboard the ship was also open free of charge to allow for easier travel planning and offered a free open bar until debarkation.
The ship began to develop propulsion difficulties last week during a repositioning cruise from Los Angeles to Vancouver, causing multiple stops to be scrapped due to a slower speed.

What the New Overtime Rule Means for Workers
One of the basic principles of the American workplace is that a hard day’s work deserves a fair day’s pay. Simply put, every worker’s time has value. A cornerstone of that promise is the Fair Labor Standards Act ’s (FLSA) requirement that when most workers work more than 40 hours in a week, they get paid more. The Department of Labor ’s new overtime regulation is restoring and extending this promise for millions more lower-paid salaried workers in the U.S.
Overtime protections have been a critical part of the FLSA since 1938 and were established to protect workers from exploitation and to benefit workers, their families and our communities. Strong overtime protections help build America’s middle class and ensure that workers are not overworked and underpaid.
Some workers are specifically exempt from the FLSA’s minimum wage and overtime protections, including bona fide executive, administrative or professional employees. This exemption, typically referred to as the “EAP” exemption, applies when:
1. An employee is paid a salary,
2. The salary is not less than a minimum salary threshold amount, and
3. The employee primarily performs executive, administrative or professional duties.
While the department increased the minimum salary required for the EAP exemption from overtime pay every 5 to 9 years between 1938 and 1975, long periods between increases to the salary requirement after 1975 have caused an erosion of the real value of the salary threshold, lessening its effectiveness in helping to identify exempt EAP employees.
The department’s new overtime rule was developed based on almost 30 listening sessions across the country and the final rule was issued after reviewing over 33,000 written comments. We heard from a wide variety of members of the public who shared valuable insights to help us develop this Administration’s overtime rule, including from workers who told us: “I would love the opportunity to...be compensated for time worked beyond 40 hours, or alternately be given a raise,” and “I make around $40,000 a year and most week[s] work well over 40 hours (likely in the 45-50 range). This rule change would benefit me greatly and ensure that my time is paid for!” and “Please, I would love to be paid for the extra hours I work!”
The department’s final rule, which will go into effect on July 1, 2024, will increase the standard salary level that helps define and delimit which salaried workers are entitled to overtime pay protections under the FLSA.
Starting July 1, most salaried workers who earn less than $844 per week will become eligible for overtime pay under the final rule. And on Jan. 1, 2025, most salaried workers who make less than $1,128 per week will become eligible for overtime pay. As these changes occur, job duties will continue to determine overtime exemption status for most salaried employees.
The rule will also increase the total annual compensation requirement for highly compensated employees (who are not entitled to overtime pay under the FLSA if certain requirements are met) from $107,432 per year to $132,964 per year on July 1, 2024, and then set it equal to $151,164 per year on Jan. 1, 2025.
Starting July 1, 2027, these earnings thresholds will be updated every three years so they keep pace with changes in worker salaries, ensuring that employers can adapt more easily because they’ll know when salary updates will happen and how they’ll be calculated.
The final rule will restore and extend the right to overtime pay to many salaried workers, including workers who historically were entitled to overtime pay under the FLSA because of their lower pay or the type of work they performed.
We urge workers and employers to visit our website to learn more about the final rule.

Russia says it foiled Ukrainian drone attack on Moscow as Kyiv’s counteroffensive grinds on

Russian air defenses on Tuesday foiled a Ukrainian drone attack on Moscow that prompted authorities to briefly close one of the city’s international airports, officials said, as a Western analysis said that Russia has managed to slow Kyiv’s recently launched counteroffensive .
The drone attack, which follows previous similar raids on the Russian capital, was the first known assault on the city since an abortive mutiny launched 11 days ago by mercenary chief Yevgeny Prigozhin . His Wagner troops marched on Moscow in the biggest — though short-lived — challenge to Russian President Vladimir Putin in more than two decades of his rule.
Authorities in Ukraine, which generally avoids commenting on attacks on Russian soil, didn’t say whether it launched the drone raid.
The Russian Defense Ministry said that four of the five drones were downed by air defenses on the outskirts of Moscow and the fifth was jammed by electronic warfare means and forced down.
There were no casualties or damage, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said.
As with previous drone attacks on Moscow, it was impossible to verify the Russian military’s announcement that it downed all of them.
The drone attack prompted authorities to temporarily restrict flights at Moscow’s Vnukovo airport and divert flights to two other Moscow main airports. Vnukovo is about 15 kilometers (nine miles) southwest of Moscow.
In May, two daring drone attacks jolted the Russian capital, in what appeared to be Kyiv’s deepest strikes into Russia.
Tuesday’s raid came as Ukrainian forces have continued probing Russian defenses in the south and the east of their country in the initial stages of a counteroffensive.
Oleksiy Danilov, the secretary of Ukraine’s Security and Defense Council, said that the military was currently focusing on destroying Russian equipment and personnel, and that the past few days of fighting have been particularly “fruitful.” He provided no evidence and it wasn’t possible to independently verify it.
The Ukrainians are up against minefields, anti-tank ditches and other obstacles, as well as layered defensive lines reportedly up to 20 kilometers (12 miles) deep in some places as they attempt to dislodge Russian occupiers.
The U.K. Defense Ministry said Tuesday the Kremlin’s forces have “refined (their) tactics aimed at slowing Ukrainian armored counteroffensive operations in southern Ukraine.”
Moscow has placed emphasis on using anti-tank mines to slow the onslaught, the assessment said, leaving the attackers at the mercy of Russian drones, helicopters and artillery.
“Although Russia has achieved some success with this approach in the early stages of Ukraine’s counteroffensive, its forces continue to suffer from key weaknesses, especially overstretched units and a shortage of artillery munitions,” the assessment said.
Western analysts say the counteroffensive, even if it prospers, won’t end the war, which started with Russia’s full-scale invasion in February 2022.
Russia, meanwhile, has continued its missile and drone barrage deep behind the front line.
Russian shelling of Pervomaiskyi, a city in Ukraine’s northeastern Kharkiv region, wounded 43 civilians, Kharkiv Gov. Oleh Syniehubov said Tuesday. Among the wounded were 12 children, including two babies, according to officials.
Oleksandr Lysenko, mayor of the city of Sumy in northeastern Ukraine, said that three people were killed and 21 others were wounded in a Russian drone strike on Monday that damaged two apartment buildings.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said the attack also damaged the regional headquarters of the Security Service of Ukraine, the country’s main intelligence agency. He argued that the country needs more air defense systems to help fend off Russian raids.
In all, Ukraine’s presidential office reported Tuesday, at least seven Ukrainian civilians were killed and 35 others injured in the fighting over the previous 24 hours.
Putin referred to the recent mercenary rebellion that rattled the Kremlin during a video call Tuesday with leaders of the countries of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization , or SCO, which is a security grouping dominated by Moscow and Beijing.
Putin said that “Russian political circles, the entire society have shown unity and responsibility for the fate of the motherland by putting up a united front against the attempted mutiny.”
He thanked the SCO members for what he described as their support during the uprising.
Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu also said that a united front thwarted Prigozhin’s mutiny. He said Monday in his first public comment about the episode that it “failed primarily because the armed forces personnel have remained loyal to their military oath and duty.” He said that the uprising had no impact on the war in Ukraine.
Dmitry Medvedev, head of Russia’s Security Council chaired by Russian President Vladimir Putin, said Tuesday that the mutiny had not changed the attitude of Russian citizens toward signing up as professional contract soldiers in Ukraine. In a video posted on Telegram, he said almost 10,000 new recruits had joined up in the last week, with 185,000 joining the Russian army as professional contract soldiers since the start of the year.
In contrast, Prigozhin said that he had the public’s backing for his “march of justice” toward Moscow.
On Tuesday, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe adopted a resolution recognizing Russia as a state sponsor of terrorism and the Wagner private mercenary group as a terrorist organization.
The declaration urges member states to take measures against the Wagner Group and any affiliated or successor structures. In addition, the document calls on members to recognize “the responsibility of Russia as a state sponsor of this terrorist organization.”
Meanwhile, Russia’s Foreign Ministry said Tuesday it saw “no grounds” to extend a deal that has allowed Ukraine to ship grain through the Black Sea to parts of the world struggling with hunger. The statement came less than two weeks before the expiration of the agreement, which was extended for two months in May.
Moscow has complained that a separate agreement with the United Nations to overcome obstacles to shipments of its fertilizers has not produced results.
