Current Onboard Booking Placeholder Blockout Dates
I have been doing some housekeeping on the site ahead of the upcoming Summer 2023 itinerary release, and discovered a few areas that needed addressed. One in particular that is worth highlighting is the list of sailings that are blocked out of the onboard booking promotion which simply means you will not receive the 10% discount.
Below is a list of the upcoming dates that are blocked out of the onboard booking offer which was verified with Disney Cruise Line.

The offer is only bookable if you are a Disney+ subscriber and you are required to pre-qualify before booking. Details of your Disney+ account (User ID or Email Address) must be provided at the time of booking and will need to be submitted to Disney for verification. Disney+ subscribers can book up to 2 staterooms with this offer and 2 full-fare guests must stay in each room. The Disney+ subscriber MUST be the primary guest on the reservation and must sail in one of the staterooms booked with the offer.

Placeholder black out dates
We have a placeholder booked from our March cruise and wanted to use it on a cruise between Christmas and New Years in 2024. Our TA is telling us that the cruise we want has a black out against using placeholders. Is that a thing?
Yes, it can have such a restriction. You should be able to see it in the fine print of your placeholder cruise paperwork or online.
Per DCL site, there are lots of blackout dates for almost all of their ships.

I'm assuming that these won't be announced until the release as can't find anything online yet. Are they typically always around holidays please? We're hoping to use on on a May Alaska Cruise in May, are any of those likely to be affected? Thank you
May is probably the least popular time for Alaska. Unless they run some kind of special itinerary (like a 9 night or something) I don’t think they would be black out dates.
For at least the past 6 yrs, black out dates are usually just the holidays--around Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas-New Years Day, and 2 day cruises.

Before making your Disney World Annual Pass selection, review the Pirate Pass blockout dates, pricing, and perks.
The Disney Pirate Pass is the second-tier option, still affordable but with fewer blockout dates (though still many) and more park reservations. The Disney World Pirate Pass is only available to Florida residents. If you’ve got a Florida address and are looking for an affordable middle-of-the-road Disney World pass, read on about the brand-new Pirate Pass at Disney.

The Disney World Pirate Pass blockout dates include some weekends and many popular holiday times, in an effort to reduce capacity and allow in more guests who are buying individual tickets. The Pirate Pass has notably fewer blockout dates than the Pixie Dust Pass and even has most of the summer open all week long.

Disney World Pirate Pass Pricing
So how much does the Disney Pirate Pass cost? $799 plus tax. If you’d rather take on a monthly payment, you can just pay $205 as a down payment and then $50/month for 12 months with no interest for Florida residents.
Disney World Pirate Pass Perks
A big sell of the Pirate Pass is that it gives you four park reservations at a time. Pixie Dust Passholders can only hold three reservations at once.

Other perks are consistent across all pass levels:
- Free standard Theme Park parking.
