We’ll listen to his amazing performance at the Riverbend Music Center in Cincinnati, Ohio from July 23rd, 1991. The setlist was extensive, and was a perfect balance between his solo hits and Eagle’s classics.

Don Henley turned in a terse and tidy little set at this 1991 Bridge School Benefit, opening with a smash from his solo years and closing with an Eagles chestnut. In his brief stage time, Henley offers the best of what these shows are about: Eclectic repertoire in an acoustic setting, as friends turn out to play music for a great cause.

The annual Bridge School Benefit has become a highlight of the Bay Area's concert schedule since it began in 1986. Founded by Pegi Young, Jim Forderer, and Marilyn Bozolich, the Bridge School developed educational programs to service the special needs of Bay Area children with severe speech disabilities and physical impairments and has been serving the community for well over two decades now. The annual fundraiser concert has gained support from many of the biggest names in the music industry, with artists performing special acoustic-based sets in the outdoor setting of the Shoreline Amphitheater in Mountain View, California. This slice from the fifth annual Bridge School Benefit took place on November 2, 1991. The day also featured performances by Larry Keegan, John Lee Hooker, Nils Lofgren, Tracy Chapman, Sonic Youth, Willie Nelson, and of course, Neil Young.

Henley contributed "The End of the Innocence" (which when you get right down to it isn't a very innocent song at all). He covers Joni Mitchell's "River" in "honor" of the holidays: "I don't know about you, but I would always like to be frozen until January 2," he quips. And then there's "The Heart of the Matter," which is a sad one too. In an effort to chase the clouds away, he croons his way through "Come Rain or Come Shine" (yes, the standard) in a jazz arrangement, then rolls out the Eagles' gold with "Best of My Love." In short, this is Henley taking it to the Bridge—and delivering it straight from the heart.

Sting and Don Henley have at least two things in common: Each founded one of the more significant rock groups of recent decades (Sting with the Police, Henley the Eagles) and went on to a successful solo career.

But when the platinum pair played two shows over the weekend at Alpine Valley Music Theatre, the similarities were hardly evident.

Even with a new record to promote, the dreary ”The Soul Cages,” Sting`s set lacked the passion of Henley`s, whose only new product was tour T-shirts.

When the former Police bassist headlined at the Arie Crown Theatre in February, he focused on new material. Sunday night at Alpine, he showcased his past.

After a lighthearted rendition of ”All This Time,” Sting moved through three more new numbers that were embellished by keyboardist David Sancious and drummer Vinnie Colaiuta. Sting, again playing the bass after two tours during which he concentrated on singing, reveled in the control the instrument gave him as he toyed with tempos throughout the set.

With his shorn blond hair and combat boots, Sting`s look reflected the Police years that he reprised in song: A speedy ”Every Breath You Take,” a perfunctory ”King of Pain” and ”When the World Is Running Down,” which became an all-out dance party.

The familiar minor chord that rang out for ”Roxanne” brought the expected wild applause.

He neglected his solo hits except for ”Fortress Around Your Heart,” and instead threw himself into a cover of Jimi Hendrix`s ”Purple Haze,” as well as a gritty ”The Soul Cages.”

As the sky darkened, Henley`s show opened with intricate lighting and a nine-piece band that conjured up the atmosphere of an urban-cowboy nightclub to match Henley`s vest-and-whiskers look.

Henley worked his Telecaster guitar over the raucous ”Dirty Laundry”

before a four-keyboard version of ”The End of the Innocence.”

As he moved into ”Sunset Grill,” the sound packed a studio-quality kick. Bathed in smoky orange light that reflected the tavern atmosphere of the song, Henley`s scratchy voice caressed and hit each high note.

Guitarists John Coury and Frank Simes blistered the rocker ”I Will Not Go Quietly” as Henley`s ungainly movements recalled Joe Cocker.

In his introduction to ”If Dirt Were Dollars,” Henley decried government hypocrisy in the arrest of Pee-wee Herman, then softened the mood on the Eagles` ”Victim of Love.” For ”The Heart of the Matter,” Henley seemed to be reliving the emotions of the song, and it was the concert`s highlight.

”The Boys of Summer” was oddly appropriate for the chilly evening as Henley wistfully sang, ”The summer`s out of reach.” Henley closed the 90-minute show with a rousing version of ”All She Wants to Do Is Dance” and returned for an encore of ”Hotel California,” which has become the ”Free Bird” crowd-pleaser of his live shows.

Who Is Don Henley's Wife? All About Sharon Summerall

Don Henley and Sharon Summerall married in 1995 and have three children

Contributor, PEOPLE

The Eagles drummer and lead vocalist Don Henley decided to settle down with his wife, Sharon Summerall, after a few serious relationships.

The “Boys of Summer” musician dated Stevie Nicks , jewelry designer Loree Rodkin and Bond Girl Lois Chiles. Later, he was engaged to Battlestar Galactica actress Maren Jensen.

However, it wasn’t until he met Summerall, a fellow Texan and former model, that Henley decided to settle down and start a family. The pair married in 1995 and went on to welcome two daughters and a son.

"I was engaged a couple of times, but I never went through with it," Henley told The Philadelphia Inquirer in 2008 of his album Inside Job , which was inspired by Summerall. "I think I would have been a failure if I had done it earlier, and I've always believed that the lives of children are too important to be part of an immature experiment."

In 2015, Henley opened up about the importance of his family. "I have a wife and three teenagers, and they are the best and most important things in my life," he told The Wall Street Journal .

So, who is Don Henley's wife? Here’s everything to know about Sharon Summerall and her relationship with the drummer.

She’s a former model

Ron Galella, Ltd./Ron Galella Collection/Getty

Summerall was raised in Texas just like her future husband — she spent her early years in Dallas, where she and Henley would later grow their own family. The socialite attended Richardson High School in the 1980s.

"Sharon grew up here, her father grew up on a farm like mine did, so we have a lot in common," Henley told The Mirror in 2008.

During school, Summerall started modeling, which eventually turned into a career with the Ford Models agency in commercial and catalog work.

Per D magazine , Summerall started her modeling career but then was stopped due to a car crash in December 1982 that left her neck injured. Two years later, she began modeling again in earnest and large department stores noticed her talent.

She has multiple sclerosis

Summerall's MS diagnosis cut her modeling career short, as the disease can lead to pain and trouble walking, seeing and speaking.

"She is managing, holding her own. She has her good weeks and bad weeks," Henley told The Mirror in 2008.

Seven years later, the drummer echoed the same sentiment in an interview with The Wall Street Journal. "We’re fortunate in that she has the relapsing/remitting form of MS, not the kind where you go straight downhill. So she’s holding her own," he said. "We feel hopeful about the future. She can still drive and get around. She’s not getting better, but she’s not getting worse."

Summerall and Henley had a star-studded wedding

According to Texas Monthly , Henley and Summerall met via music agent Angus Wynne. The pair started dating and married about two years after they met for the first time.

On May 20, 1995, Henley and Summerall had a star-studded wedding with fellow musicians including Bruce Springsteen , Jackson Browne, Billy Joel , Sheryl Crow , Tony Bennett , Sting , John Fogerty and Henley’s bandmate Glenn Frey.

Summerall wore a long-sleeved, off-the-shoulder white gown and veil with her brunette curls loose down her back, while Henley wore a tuxedo and bowtie.

Henley wrote a song about her

Henley said he wrote the 2000 song “Everything is Different Now” to describe his relationship with Summerall.

The tune is a reflection of how loving his wife has changed him. Henley describes Summerall as "an angel with the golden wings" with "a heart as big as Texas" in the song.

He described their bond, writing, “I hate to tell you this, but I'm very, very happy ... She saw me down here in the dark somehow / And everything is different now.”

Henley’s married life inspired an entire album

In 2000, Henley released Inside Job , his first studio album since 1989, which was filled with songs about marriage, children and navigating a new, calmer period of life after years as a rock star.

"It was inspired by my family, by my children and by my wife and the birth of my first daughter," Henley told The Philadelphia Inquirer of one of the album's singles, "Taking You Home."

"I'm always squeamish about releasing a ballad like that first, because it sort of typecasts me. For 25 years now, I've had to fight this label of 'mellow and laid-back' and all that kind of stuff, and it's been a struggle. But I decided this time 'What the hell? It's a good song. Let them go with it,' " he explained.

She shares three children with Henley

Henley and Summerall have three children: Annabel, Julia and Will.

When the kids were young, the family relocated from Los Angeles to Dallas so they could have childhoods outside of the pressures of Hollywood.

"I wanted my children to have an upbringing similar to my own," Henley told The Mirror. "I don't want to raise my children out there in an environment of such self-absorption. Not that it can't be done but it is too difficult, especially as I am not around all the time.”

Henley shared that their "normal life" consisted of the kids playing "soccer and volleyball and baseball" and that the whole crew enjoyed going fishing together.

"Family is the most important thing in my life," he added.

According to the musician, Summerall’s parents were very involved in their grandchildren’s upbringing.

"It is easier to do here because my wife's parents are very much involved,” the drummer told The Mirror . "They live here and are very much always there for the children and that's important. I remember how much I adored my grandparents when I was growing up.”

She supported Henley at the Kennedy Center Honors

Summerall keeps a pretty low profile and isn’t frequently seen in the spotlight. However, she and their kids did support Henley when the Eagles were celebrated at the 2016 Kennedy Center Honors.

The family posed on the red carpet together, and Summerall donned a black dress for the occasion.
