Group Leisure & Travel Show 2022 marks key opportunity for exhibitors and visitors
2022-04-07T07:26:00+01:00
Organisers of the annual Group Leisure & Travel Show continue to report substantial interest in this October’s event as the group travel sector continues to fully recover.
The Group Leisure & Travel Show returns to Milton Keynes on 6th October.
The 2022 show, on 6th October at the Marshall Arena in Milton Keynes, will once again be the leading forum for a range of experiences and ideas. In addition to specialist exhibitors, the popular seminars return with celebrity speakers, offering the opportunity to meet a range of like-minded people and GTOs.
Show organiser, Sharon Yandell, said: “There is much ground still to be made up following the impact of Covid and that is where a dedicated and specialist event like the GLT Show comes into its own. Our job is to connect buyers and sellers and create a vibrant place where visitors can get the information they need from specialist exhibitors.
“Exhibitors enjoy the opportunity to share their expertise with visitors and group travel organisers can be assured they are dealing with reliable suppliers. Our research consistently shows that face-to-face contact and a proper conversation is paramount when it comes to GTOs placing new business or returning to providers they have used before.”
“Our research consistently shows that face-to-face contact and a proper conversation is paramount when it comes to GTOs placing new business or returning to providers they have used before.” Sharon Yandell, GLT Show Organiser
Free to attend, free parking, free meals
The show offers free parking immediately adjacent to the exhibition hall, a free bacon butty breakfast and hot drink on arrival before 11am, as well as a free light lunch to GTO visitors and exhibitors.
There will be selected free coach travel from various locations and a complimentary shuttle bus service from Milton Keynes Central train station.
The proof is in positive feedback
Commenting at the 2021 show Frances Wright, a visitor from Highwoods Community Centre, said: “I’ve found some ideas here that will make great days out for the community centre and eventually on holiday. It’s not been too crowded, so there is a nice comfortable feel. I much prefer talking to people face-to-face and the show gives me that opportunity.”
Visitors to the show can speak to a variety of exhibitors about their special offers.
Zoe Kent from exhibitor Blenheim Palace added: “We’ve had more time to talk to people and the group travel organisers here are of a really high quality. Sometimes it can be far too busy at trade shows and you have to move people on quite quickly and don’t get the time to get to know what they are looking for. The GLT Show feels like it has a friendlier approach than other trade shows I have exhibited at.”
Sharon Yandell summed up: “Our 2022 show will be a benchmark for full recovery and set a platform for growth and future success. I can promise everyone involved a great experience and I believe no one works harder to deliver that experience or invests more in bringing the group travel community together. Following on from the Group Leisure & Travel Awards the previous evening the 5th and 6th October are the must-do dates this year.”
The Group Leisure & Travel Show is taking place on Thursday 6th October at the Marshall Arena, Milton Keynes.

JetBlue's New In-flight Tech Updates Include a Game-changer for Passengers Who Want to Watch a Movie Together
The only thing left to do is actually decide on the film.
Courtesy of JetBlue Airways
JetBlue's latest in-flight entertainment updates can involve your whole travel crew.
On Wednesday, the airline announced updated entertainment options that include a "Watch Party" feature where a traveler and up to five other passengers can watch the same movie or television show at the same time. To access the "Watch Party" feature, travelers select the program they desire to watch, and then have the option to play it individually at their seat, or create a watch party with other travelers. A seat map displays the other seats, and a host can invite them to join. The feature may be helpful for families traveling together; or friends looking to share an entertainment experience before landing at their destination. The program also allows for pause/play, and fast forward/rewind of the program so that the viewing stays consistent for everyone.
"Watch Party" is just one of the new features announced as part of the “Blueprint by JetBlue” release which also includes personalized recommendations for what to watch, and a "pick up where where you left off" function on programs you recently viewed. The new entertainment system will also display a passengers' preferred name as a welcome message on the seatback screens. “By launching Blueprint by JetBlue, we are doubling down on our commitment to help customers create an inflight experience tailored to their needs and preferences, making their flight as comfortable as their own living rooms,” JetBlue’s Head of Marketing and Customer Support Jayne O’Brien said in the release.
JetBlue currently offers a variety of in-flight amenities such as 'Fly-Fi', free, high-speed Wi-Fi on every plane. The airline also offers the streaming service Peacock, and live television in the seat back monitor for free as well. JetBlue has been steadily expanding service around the world including new routes to Dublin , Tulum , and Amsterdam .

Tata Harper Tata's Daily Essentials
"Tata Harper has been such a leader in clean beauty, and her products not only do good but look and feel good and work so exceedingly well. And since as you all know I am a carry on only fanatic, the idea of having her essentials in these travel size cases is just too good to resist. A perfect way to celebrate Earth Day." — Stellene Volandes, Editor in Chief
"One of my goals for this year was to be more sustainable and buy less clothing... Thankfully, I found Nuuly which lets me rent clothes every month—and helps me scratch my inevitable shopping itch." —Ana Osorno, Social Media Editor
FRAME L'Homme Skinny-Fit Organic Jeans
"Mr Porter conceived the Consciously Crafted campaign several years ago to highlight products by brands and designers 'working towards reducing their environmental impact, by putting the planet and its people first.' Among those brands is Frame, whose L’Homme jeans are made from organic stretch-denim. Consciously Crafted is one phrase for them, another might be: Good for the Planet." —Erik Maza, Executive Style Director
Parks Project Feel The Earth Breathe Boxy T-Shirt
"This Earth Day, if you're going to buy new clothes, make sure your purchase is one that gives back. May I recommend something by Parks Project? Proceeds from their clothes go to protect and preserve America's national parks—a worthy mission on Earth Day (and every day)." —Emily Burack, Senior News Editor
Vintage 1990s Blazer
"In order to be more sustainable in my wardrobe, I like to shop vintage and pre-owned whenever possible. I love searching around The RealReal to find unique pieces that I know no one else will have." —MaryKate Boylan, Senior Fashion Editor
"Agmes's phrase, 'modern treasures, future heirlooms,' points to their dedication to sustainability. Their pieces are both modern and timeless, so you won't feel the need to constantly buy a new piece. Also, their materials are harvested ethically. Take their pearls for example. The farms they source them from are free of chemicals and instead rely on natural filtration from mussels and carp." —Isiah Magsino, Style News Editor

GLCO Gilbert Sun
"I'm a longtime fan of the eyewear brand Garrett Leight, which is the definition of slow fashion. A California label that believes in transparency, its current environmental practices are publicly listed, including a commitment to earth-friendly materials. A new spring season means it’s time to update my specs for beach weather. The brand's latest collaboration, with the cannabis brand Old Pal, evokes the casual style of mid-century California for "an ode to simpler times. Right on, dudes." — Erik Maza, Executive Style Director

Turns out, looking fashion forward in the rain is possible."— Roxanne Adamiyatt, Deputy Digital Lifestyle Director
Carve Designs Jessa One Piece

So when their latest collaboration with Marea—a capsule of upcycled, one-of-a-kind tie-dye knits and slip dresses —came across my desk, obviously I was intrigued. The collection is currently available exclusively at the La Ligne store on Madison in a limited run, but well worth it if you both care for eco-conscious shopping and a good frock.
