If you've experienced trauma it's all too easy to feel alone, fractured and fall into second guessing yourself to no end. Hope for the Journey is a safe place to start healing yourself and move forward with the help of compassionate and trained professionals. I would highly recommend calling them after getting to know the founder over the last few years through a consultation group.

There are some parts of the job you might not like. For example, we will ask you to complete notes within 24 hours. And we'll expect you to reach out to new clients personally before their session just to make sure everything is set. These extra steps will take time and effort, for sure. Please Note: We are currently only looking for clinicians in our Round Rock offices. Hybrid position is fine, but we need someone with at least 2-3 days in-person availability.

1. Clinical Director - Full-Time W2 Position - Clinical hourly rate ranging between $72.50 and $92.50 plus a stipend for leadership role.

You’re open to feedback about how things can be improved and take responsibility for any mistakes that are made (believe me - we make a ton of them!)

Here’s what the position entails:

You'll carry a slightly lower caseload than our other full time therapists, probably around 15 client hours/ week. 

Oversea the clinical team, the intern program, and Client Care. 

In charge of our hiring, onboarding, and off-boarding processes. 

Responsible for HIPAA Compliance and Quality and Assurance of the clinical team. 

Coordinate social media and blog content (which will be created by other team members) and community marketing efforts so that referral goals are met and clinicians are getting ideal clients on their caseloads. 

Consultation on cases, as needed by the clinical and intern team, as well as coordinating our in-house group supervision.

Ability to work independently + track time on different projects + stay on top of deadlines (or even gets things in ahead of them)

Identify gaps in how we do things and build policies/procedures to fill those gaps

Strong human resources knowledge and skills and helping to manage staffing issues such as fine tuning our hiring and onboarding processes, developing training tools, and improving clinician retention

Excellent written and communication skills are necessary -- you love to write emails with personality

Here’s what else you need to know: 

This is a full-time W-2 position that will involve ~5 hours of management per week plus ~15 client hours per week. 

You will be in charge of setting your schedule. Working hours are not consistent but you do need to be in the Central time zone and available between 8-5 CST on weekdays. There are some days you’ll work more hours and some days you’ll just check in for a few minutes. Some tasks do need to be done on certain days/dates like attending established meetings. 

You’ll get to work from anywhere MOST of the time -- your home, at the park, or anywhere else you choose but if you’re local to Austin, Texas, that is even better because you will get to work in person with me every so often. BUT reliable, secure (password-protected) and high-speed internet speed is required because you will be video conferencing and accessing Protected Health Information. You must be willing to take a HIPAA class every 2 years and sign a Business Associate Agreement ensuring you understand and are committed to protecting client confidentiality.

This is a long-term commitment and not a short-term “experiment” ---  we want you to be committed to growing with our company (and helping it grow too!). With that said, we’ll take the first 3 months to make sure it’s a good fit on both sides.

2. Child and Family Therapist – W-2 Employee Position - Commission based pay w/ benefits once averaging 20 client sessions/week

To be considered, applicants must:.

● Have a master’s or doctoral degree in counseling or related field

● Hold an active, unrestricted license in the state of Texas to provide counseling (LPC, LMFT, Ph.D., PsyD, LCSW). (N o provisionally licensed folks will be considered at this time without advanced training in trauma and experience using it with clients.)

● Advanced training and frequent use of at least one evidenced-based trauma protocol (ie. EMDR, Sometic Experiencing, Theraplay, Brainspotting, TF-CBT, etc…).

● Available for full time work (20-25 client sessions per week).

● Some flexibility for evening and/or weekend hours.

● Available for BOTH in-person (COVID-19 vaccines required) at our NW Austin location and video sessions. 

We provide:

● $1500 sign on bonus or to be applied towards EMDR Basic Training or other approved trauma-specific modality (2 year commitment required/dispersed over first year of employment)

● In-house consultation towards EMDR certification

● Targeted marketing to build your caseload quickly

● Full administrative support for the referral process, ongoing tracking of results, and feedback from clients

● Regular clinical peer consulting

● Comfortable office space and environment/Support & Training for Telehealth

'Horrible moment': Austin leaders react to fatal shooting of police officer, injury of second

After the fatal shooting of an Austin police officer and the wounding of another in South Austin Saturday morning, city leaders shared their support for police and their families.

Two other deceased civilians were found in the house, Mayor Kirk Watson said in a memo to Austin City Council members Saturday morning. The suspect was shot and killed at the scene.

"We rely on brave people who are in harm's way when they are serving us," Watson said on X, formerly Twitter. "We should never lose sight of that. This event jarringly brings home that truth. The danger and potential loss is not theoretical -- it's very, very real. "

Austin City Manager Jesús Garza

Garza said in a post on X that the investigation is still in the early stages but that the city staff members' hearts go out to everyone involved in the incident.

"Our officers put their lives on the line every day serving the people of Austin," Garza's post on X said. "But the fact makes it no less devastating when we lose someone in the line of duty. ... This is a crushing blow to the sworn and civilian members of the Austin Police Department. The bonds there run tight and deep."

Travis County District Attorney José Garza's office

In a written statement, the Travis County district attorney's office said the staff is praying for the families of the victims and for the recovery of the wounded officer.

"On behalf of the Travis County District Attorney’s Office, all our hearts break for the fallen officer, the wounded officer, and the victims involved in the tragic incident this morning," the statement read. "We are grateful for all of the members of APD who work tirelessly to keep our community safe, especially during these difficult times."

The Texas governor joined city officials in sharing condolences. He posted a statement on X, saying he and his wife, Cecilia Abbott, were "praying for this hero’s family, the injured officer undergoing surgery, & the entire Austin community."

"This tragedy is a reminder of the great risks and selfless leadership our law enforcement officers exercise every day to serve and protect their communities," Abbott wrote.

Former Austin Police Chief Joseph Chacon

Former Austin Police Department Chief Joseph Chacon told the American-Statesman he has been in contact with his former colleagues to offer his support. He said the whole incident is an "absolute tragedy" and that he's praying for everyone involved.

"We've lost another really great officer to what is just senseless violence," Chacon said. "The selflessness and the bravery that our officers in this community display cannot be overstated. They put their lives on the line on every call, and go help people that they don't even know but that they've sworn an oath to go in and assist. And so I hope that everybody will really hold these officers up and honor their sacrifice."

Austin City Council Member Mackenzie Kelly

"My heart goes out to the families of the officers who've been affected by the events that unfolded today," Kelly told the American-Statesman. "Their unwavering dedication and sacrifice they made in their service to the community will always be remembered and deeply valued. Today is a tragic day. And I lift up those families in prayer. ... I hope that our city surrounds them with love and support."

Austin City Council Member Paige Ellis

Ellis said she's offered her support to interim Police Chief Robin Henderson and the Police Department.

"I'm heartbroken for the family of the officer who has passed," Ellis told the Statesman. "We're praying for the other officer that they'll be okay."

Fuentes said in a post on X she is praying for the families affected by the "horrific loss" and for the recovery of the other officer.

"I'm so sorry to hear about the tragic incident involving our Austin Police officers," Fuentes' post said. "My thoughts are with the fallen officer, the wounded officer, their families, and their APD colleagues during this difficult time."
